right, well, I'll get straight to it instead of messing about like in my other tutorials. editblr has a serious problem with people not crediting artists, we all know that, I don't need to talk much about it. but I figured instead of just making one of those posts, I'd make one explaining the etiquette for such things and how you can appropriately use fanart in your edits. oh, and also what could happen if you refuse to offer those credits

alright, cool, let's talk about it

— stop letting them use your shit to train ai models

if you've been on tumblr for a bit, or have just gone through the general settings, you'll probably have noticed that in the visibility tab there's this not-so-fun setting automatically turned off:

yeah. that's fun, isn't it? since you're using fanart, and most artists don't support nor engage with ai, it's basic respect to opt out of such a thing.

settings -> visibility -> bottom option

— why credit is important, and what lack of credit could potentially do to your account

I feel I shouldn't necessarily have to explain why credit is important, but I will anyway. in the plainest terms, they made it, it's theirs, so credit them. it's a simple concept, no? hm, but I know that doesn't sound important to some people, so imagine if someone stole your edits and reuploaded them onto their own blog, but in the caption all it says is "idk who made this originally, sorry" or "credits to artist".. I bet you'd feel pretty pissed off about it, right? your hard work being stolen by someone you've never heard of, who didn't even bother putting in the effort to search for you.

another thing: credit is still important when they're a figurehead in the community you're editing for. yes, their artstyle may be familiar to you and the others in your fandom, but to an outsider it's just another piece of fanart that remains uncredited.

if you use art that doesn't belong to you, and the original artist finds it and doesn't want you using it, you could face a takedown. of course, most artists are kind and would send you a polite notice first, but there's always that chance they could send over a takedown request to your post and therefore your blog with zero warning. three of those, your blog gets deleted. they're incredibly easy to send off, and afaik tumblr gets to them pretty quickly.

oh, and also people typically don't look favourably on those who can't be bothered to credit artists, so you'll end up losing connections with other editors as well, if you care about that.

— how to source your fanart

stay away from pinterest. I cannot stress this enough, I understand that pinterest is by far one of the easiest platforms to find fantastic art on, but having proper credits is more important than the 5 minutes of time shaved off by stealing a reupload.

twitter, instagram, tumblr, pixiv, and deviantart are all good places to search. though, do make sure to check for ai on deviantart especially, it's like a rat infestation over there.

— how to differentiate fanart from official art

fandom wiki. I know, we all hate fandom wiki, but whether your media is popular or unpopular it's likely to have a fandom wiki dedicated to it, and people will archive all official art there. if you're unsure, cross-examine the potential fanart piece with the archive.

if you hate fandom wiki that badly, there's also archival accounts scattered across different platforms, so you can use those.

if the art is official, then for company-ran medias it's normally okay to just add "all art is official" or leave it uncredited; though that's also somewhat of a dick move. but for smaller things like web-comics and games that aren't hosted on any big site, and have no huge monetary support, it's nice to include the name of the artist and/or creator.

— how to find credits for art blatantly stolen and reuploaded to pinterest when all the caption says is "credit to the artist!"

reverse image search, that's my simplest answer. with chrome at least, it comes with a built-in reverse image searcher called google lens. it's normally highly efficient, so for most art pieces it'll pick up on the artist pretty quickly.

but what if it doesn't? what if it just links back to the original pinterest post instead? well, the weird thing about google lens in particular is that it initially retrieves one post it thinks it could originate from—probably the post with the most traffic going to it, but it then also features a "see exact matches" option underneath that first photo.

if you click it, it'll show you a whole lot more examples of the art being used.

normally, you can use that to figure out who made the art, since it'll show you similarly popular recorded instances. however, there are also times when even that fails to grab a source, and you're left only with confusing results. what do you do then?

well, you can either resort to clicking on random sites until you find a username, or you can give up and find a different piece of art to use. it's really just a process of rinse and repeat until you find something usable.

— knowing and understanding artist boundaries

artist boundaries are typically easy to see and simple to understand. they're normally just in the bios of the artists, which is super helpful. however, sometimes they're kept within links placed on the accounts instead. if you can't immediately see a list of boundaries, then instead start looking for (typically) a link to one of these sites:

rentry

strawpage

lit.link

skeb (though skeb can sometimes block itself if you have parental controls on, so be aware of this)

scour through them, and you should get an understanding.

right, and for artists who have bios in foreign languages; just translate it, it's not as if google translate or deepl are impossible to use. not knowing the language isn't an excuse anymore.

however, if they still don't have one available, you might have to start searching keywords on their accounts. of course, such things aren't really possible on da or instagram, but on tumblr and twitter, search up these keywords before giving up on an art piece:

pfp / icon / profile picture

use

your art

on tumblr especially, most asks are tagged with something or other, so you can scroll through and check to see if there's anything there too.

and if there's still nothing.. well, just ask the artist about it. if you don't want to do that, then it's not a good idea to use it, and it's back to the drawing board for you.

— how to give appropriate credit

by including "art credit - (username)" in the description, ordinarily. however, you should note that most people who use rentry graphics don't care for art credits, and won't include them if they're using said graphics. so, that's why you put a watermark on it, so it's basically like forcing credit to be given. it doesn't have to be anything big or flashy, but it does need to be readable, so simple fonts work well.

oh, and ideally there should be a direct link back to the art piece, so if people want to use it also they don't have to scroll through someone's entire account trying to find it.

i make character adopts on toyhou.se and deviantart. i like designing characters but i rarely ever use them so i put them up for adoption so they can go to good homes. i have a tos for adopting my characters, which everyone is required to read before i go through with the adopt. the tos has rules about giving the character to someone else, which is that the current owner of the oc has to ask me first. there s a few reasons for this:

1 i dont want anyone reselling my character for more money than they bought them for unless they add value to the character by commissioning art or writing because its unfair to me who created the character if someone upsells them without adding value. having people ask first let's me make sure theyre not upcharging my work unfairly

2 i dont want certain people owning my characters. i have trauma surrounding certain people adopting my characters and using them problematically. for example someone ill call A once made my black characters skin lighter even though my tos says you cant change my characters race or body types. someone else, B, put my character into a proship relationship which is TOTALLY BANNED in my tos. i have a public list of people who are NOT allowed to own my characters and the idea of them owning them makes me super uncomfortable because i know theyll use my characters for bad things

3 it lets me make sure that the new owner has read my tos

a couple months ago someone (ill call them C) adopted a character of mine named lupin. a couple of days ago i was looking at my designs and i saw that lupin was now owned by D. i checked the ownership log which said that C traded lupin with D but i dont know what character C got in return. i sent C a message asking why they traded lupin without my permission and they said they didnt think they had to because it was a trade and not a sale. i told them that i have trauma around people giving my characters to others without permission and C said that i should talk to D instead because they (C) no longer owned the character.

i went to Ds profile and on their user page i saw a blocked comment so i unhid the comment and saw that it was B thanking D for following B. this set off alarm bells because i know that B is proship which is why i blocked them in the first place! so i decide to look into D, i find their tumblr and i find out that theyre also proship, they ship incest and they reblog irredeemable media like the coffin of andy and leyley

D wasnt on my blacklist specifically but its against my tos for proshippers to own my characters under any circumstances and its grounds for revocation. i message D to tell them that im revoking the character because theyre breaking my tos but D refused to transfer lupin back to me and blocked me.

i reuploaded lupins profile to my account and reported the original profile to th for being a violation of my tos, and i added C and D to my blacklist.

WIBTA if i wrote a psa about C and D to warn other people about them? i just dont want anyone else to go through this

I remember the times when I first found out about vore and was looking for a website where I can see more of it. YouTube..nope, most of them is just ASMR which people saying is just a recording of the same thing from a movie but I'm not sure. Deviantart...hell no, most the things there fetishy and weird pregnant stuff and all the sfw stories there I had already viewed them. Kept on looking in different sites for vore I love liked but didn't find any.

Until I found Tumblr.

I swear, I was literally thinking about completing ignoring the fact that I liked vore and just bury in the deepest parts of mind, forgetting it. I mean, that what literally vore was before I got on the Internet; just a weird trope if mine that I barely think about.

I used to think that if you liked vore you must like it sexually. That sounded off to me, because never had I ever seen it in that light. And I found out I mostly liked the safer side of it, where the prey doesn't have to die, where everyone's happy. So whenever I searched for vore, I always made sure to add the word "safe" to it. It was what I wanted.

I didn't even discover Tumblr because of vore, I got led here by Undertale dubs, because almost always the description of the video will say the artist is on this site. Then one day, I just decided to search up vore here. Just for the sake of it.

My world had frickin expanded. I didn't even know there were this many people that like vore in a non-sexually sense. I've seen so many opinions, so many ideas from people who share the same likes as me.

I may have not have come tumblr for vore, but here I am. I love this community, couldn't have asked for anything better. I mean, if I had never seen a sfw vore community I wouldn't have made this account.

Apparently (correction: a member of the social media team on Viv's account) posted the new signed Alastor and Lucifer poster on Youtube, and people threw a goddamn fit, enough that that post is now down. I've seen screenshots, but the page itself is gone. It has since been replaced clearly without the ship name.

Like, seriously? All that because you hate a ship? Because they called out the Radioapple fans for art of the pair just in a poster together? The image isn't even ship art, Lucifer is glaring daggers at Alastor, as per usual.

Viv grew in fandom spaces. Alastor is literally an edgy Deviantart OC. She just released a Helluva Boss minisode with the cringiest weeb fan swooning over Blitz when he kills her FOR SHIPPING SOMETHING.

Radioapple is popular, EVERYONE knows this, it's only expected they would capitalize on it, even if just as a joke. (they do so regularly on tiktok)

The whole duo image (correct me if I'm wrong) was AMIR TALAI'S IDEA. Alastor's voice actor is REGULARLY joking around with Radioapple shippers. It's practically his hobby at this point.

Like, this was literally him the other day.

Like??? Calm yourselves.

And as for Viv herself, she has Liked a lot of ship art, including Radioapple.

The creator doesn't mind it, one of the actors finds it hilarious, and the other actor to my knowledge hasn't spoken on the ship but DID sign those posters, WHICH IS ALL THAT POST WAS ABOUT ANYWAY. A poster of two well-loved characters signed by their well-loved voice actors.

Look, 98% chance that Radioapple isn't going to happen, if only to make Alastor's sexuality and the ace rep ABUNDANTLY clear. But if Viv did decide to go that route? Okay? It's her show, not yours? Fuck off???

If you want to consider this duo art Radioapple, then there were ALSO Radiodust and Charlastor posters in the same vein and I didn't see people flipping shit about that despite, yknow, Chaggie and Huskerdust.

The canon of a series you otherwise enjoy can and will disappoint you. As a former of the Supernatural fandom, I am deeply aware of this. When Castiel went season after season with queerbaiting, when they killed off the beloved badass lesbian character Charlie, when Sam had a cool deaf hunter gf who disappeared and never came back, you know what the fandom did?

They made fanfiction about it. And let me tell you, some of it is much better than the series.

You could do that. Or, fuck, maybe someone else already has and you can go read that instead.

You don't like the way the series is going? That's fine. It's no longer for you. Stop watching. Make your own versions of them. But don't go off attacking people for enjoying the idea of Lucifer and Alastor being in close proximity.

The creative team, creator, actors, and artists/animators, is Radioapple friendly. If you can't handle that without throwing a tantrum, find the goddamn door.

I'm not telling you you have to like any ship. I sure as shit don't. But don't be an asshole about it.

Why I don't think, at least for now, that I'll be making this blog MDNI.

This post is moreso a ramble on my part. My own philosophy behind my reasonings.

As of recent, I kept noticing a few blogs turning MDNI. Mostly of close friends, whom I've been following for a good while now. And while I agree I may've fallen under the pressure of "follow the masses' actions", it's true I stopped to ponder about it.

This community's really strict when it comes to SFW and NSFW. I'm a witness of that. Plenty of times.

But the real question of, should I put the mdni label on my blog? So far? Don't think so.

I started this blog on 2018. Almost seven years ago. And so far, this has been my only, and most used account excepting Deviantart (who was my root as an artist and to this community...yeah, i had unsupervised internet). But when I made this account, back then, tickling was nothing but a fixation.

A comfort thing. Something that was harmless, and it made me happy. Made me feel happy. And to this day, it still remains a comfort thing.

Of course, I'm not going to be hypocritical and say the nsfw aspect of it isn't present. It very much is, especially more since I turned 18. The thing is, I'm not vocal about it over here contrary to other social medias.

Then there's BlueSky. The other side of the coin. If you couldn't guess, yes, it is strictly NSFW. But it's also a personal space of mine.

A place to experiment with my interests, as I like to call it. You probably never even knew about the existence of my Bsky, despite me mentioning it briefly here. Bluesky is where I explore with my personal niches and kinks, and don't mention anything of it on any of my sfw accounts (tumblr and discord, server wise)

And that's the thing. I keep my accounts greatly managed.

And following that logic...if I already have my Bluesky account to post my more matured audience aimed drawings, why should i do the same here?

My tumblr account is strictly sfw. In here I post my regular drawings, my fics and whatnot; the statistics don't lie when I say that this blog's mostly followed by minors, and I've gotten plenty of anons tell me this is their comfort blog. Why should i take i away from them?

My Bluesky, on the other hand, is where I post the more spicy stuff. But I also post a few sfw drawings here and there that, while some aren't necessarily suggestive, I simply don't deem them "sfw enough" to be posted here. It's why it's going to be a huge whiplash to whoever goes and finds it, who's gotten used to the content I post on Tumblr.

(but if you're one of those reckless brats that'll try to dig around and find that blog and interact with any of my posts, just know that I block any and EVERY blog that's ageless, or has only been made "a few hours ago" (because yes, bsky lets you know when an account's fresh). So good luck with that)

And it stays like that for a while. You can say I'm a bit of a "lurker" here; I stay in my zone, my little space, I post my drawings, and I keep my interactions with my audience to the bare minimum. Heck, if there's a reason this blog is considered a "comfort" one is because it's also very drama-free (when I have a say on it, ahem), at least in my opinion.

I've already got two audiences to cater to, both the adults and minors, on each respective area. I like to think I've done a good job on that, so far.

So, in conclusion, again, for now, this blog stays open for everyone to interact to. Even if it's a little inactive given I've gotten more active on bsky, it doesn't mean it'll get abandoned or anything. I just vibe with my stuff, draw what I like - it's a win win for everyone, yknow?

Hi! This is the FMA Oldfic Preservation Blog, we're dedicated to digging up the old, beloved fanfics steadily dying to linkrot and lost accounts on places like livejournal, wattpad and quotev, to archive and display them here for the continued enjoyment of the public.

I understand the importence of always backing up these fics directly to the internet archive whenever possible to preserve the original integrity of the work, as well as its associated profiles and links. But due to complications regarding crawling mature content on sites such as livejournal, as well as the risk of certain fics and websites becoming unfindable on the wayback machine in the event the original link becomes lost, I sometimes have to work around this.

This blog exists both to allow the internet archive to crawl at-risk fics effectively, and to bring fics and fansites that have faded into the background, or even gone offline permenantly, back into the spotlight for a new audience to enjoy (or an old audience to rediscover).

All fics are welcome in the name of fandom history, regardless of ship, fic content or any associated fandom dramas therein, but I always try to tag appropriately, please feel free to comment if you feel additional content warnings or tags are necessary.

Requests are always accepted and encouraged!

How It Works (by website)

This blog is an index of archived fics across many old fan websites, with the goal of preventing those sites from being lost to obscurity (I didn't know about half of these when I joined the fandom) along with archiving and indexing oldfics on sites that are still active, like ao3.

The below format allows me to archive and index any fic on the websites listed while skirting tumblr's mature content policy. It also allows me breathing room, the ability to post more fics with less stress, and avoids outright reposting fics whenever possible.

Website's being indexed from, and how each work:

Standard procedure - Fic page(s) are saved to the wayback machine, then the archived link - along with the original, if the site is still up - is posted with the original summary and tags, along with additional tags and content warnings added by myself to aid in navigation. This means you can still read fics on currently active websites even if they shut down, or are currently under maintenence.

Special procedure - For websites the Wayback Machine is unable to crawl, fics will be reposted here in a private post so they can be archived. The private post is deleted and the archived link is used to make a normal post for the fic. This avoids tumblr flagging by keeping as little smut directly on the blog as possible. fanfiction.net - Standard archiveofourown - Standard, also hosts my open oldfic collection, which serves a similar purpose to this blog, collecting external bookmarks as well as fics on ao3. The collection will never be closed and anyone can contribute. deviantart - Standard mediaminer - Standard txq.nu/jumpyboys - website has shut down and archived fics are the only available - Standard yaoi.toukakoukan - website has shut down and archived fics are the only available - Standard archive.skyehawke.com - website has shut down and archived fics are the only available - Standard adultfanfiction.net (2003-2013) - adult-fanfiction.org (2013-) - Standard scimitarsmile - suggested by zetalial - website has shut down and archived fics are the only available - Standard

On this Part I want to highlight both artists who work on TCGs, as well as artist or artworks that have since been deleted their page...

TAPIOCA is an amazing artist who, among other things, has been doing many illustrations for the One Piece TCG. You can check them out on twitter or pixiv.

This is one of the early works of Takase, who is one of the biggest artists for the Digimon TCG. Many of their early work was stolen and spread online and they've deleted a lot of it. You can find cards illustrated by them on my blog under #takase or check their twitter or pixiv.

These are early pieces by sasasi, another very prolific Digimon TCG artist, who is often in charge of doing promotional and commemorative artwork. You can find many cards illustrated by them on my blog under #sasasi or on their twitter or pixiv!

This one straight up has Kenji Watanabe's signature on it. For those who don't know, Kenji Watanabe is the ICON who designed the original Digimon line up, and many many other Digimon. Again, check out #Kenji Watanabe here, or their twitter!

These are from the 2024 Digimon Illustration Contest, by the artists supermondobeat, nurumi, and BADLUCK respectively. The latter two hadn't uploaded their entries on their socials due to making it past the screening. You should check them out!

These are from former pixiv artist Hajime-ill-1st The originals are no longer available and I could only confirm them through pixiv navirank. I have seen their artwork stolen a lot in the past to the point their name was immediately familiar...

Through my research I have come to find these work's original uploads have been deleted, some of the artists have also deactivated their accounts. I'll leave links to active accounts where applicable.

Positive this is Jiyuuya. You can find them on twitter or pixiv. They still do a lot of BeelStarmon art!

This artwork was apparently done by Tarou, formerly Akira san. They haven't done Digimon stuff in a while, but there is another piece in their gallery that matches this style. Find them on pixiv!

This artwork seems to be from hamadaskl, and even though this image is gone, you can find them on pixiv.

Both artwork and account of this have been deleted. They used to go by tsabhackers2 on deviantart, and the title of the artwork was "Lilimon relaxing night moment"

From what I can tell, the artist of this might have been MILK, on pixiv.

The only origin of this I could find was a reupload that credited it to a deleted deviantart account, going by koreanpanda

This piece is over 12 years old and the account all reuploads credit seems to be empty. They used to go by 弦月 aka fragmented Moon.

Not super sure, but research suggests this is from Mochimako, find them on 🔞 twitter and 🔞 pixiv

I've been getting into Honkai Star Rail more, going back to Genshin slowly but surely. Not just those two but ArcaneTwilght and Love and Deep Space will be mentioned here too. My point is, I wanna draw FanArt but I'm in the beginning of each game, I just already have interests and such.

(also, hehe leave comments on WHO I should probably draw. If I'm simping over the character or I like em they'll be the start to me drawing FanArt with will most likely be posted on my other socials from here, to X, to deviantart and anywhere else that I've mentioned a social on this account.
