Reposting of Stolen Art in the Digimon Community

Idk, I wanna draw attention to this. But I don't really know what to say. I've made multiple posts about individual issues before. I just feel like I have to use the platform I have to spread awareness.

Please, before liking and reblogging art, take a moment to check if the artwork has been stolen.

Me and others often try to link the original art in the comments as soon as we come across it.

If someone is a confirmed thief, mass reposting for notes, block them.

Stolen art gets hundreds of notes despite people pointing out it's stolen.

It just breaks my heart to see artists pour their love into artworks for this Fandom, only for it to be stolen and spread without credit.

About a year ago, I called out another user for stealing countless artworks. I went through their entire backlog and looked up every original artist.

I contacted them to tell them to at least give proper credit. They added all my researched sources to their posts, but...

They went back to repost uncredited art again, not much later.

And this user is not the only one. And they have zero shame.

This user stole artwork the artist entered the Digimon Illustration Competition with. This artist, by the way, is an official artist of the One Piece TCG and more.

This thief had the gall to steal another Illustration Competition's Winning Artwork!

This is just insulting.

For simple japanese dictionary searches I recommend jisho.org

Google Translate is quite unreliable and basically useless if you don't search japanese terms in japanese writing systems due to many same sounding words.

The "woman" in that google translation is the result of jo being a possible reading for 女 woman in compound nouns. But the same goes for 助 help, rescue, assistance (that is the "suke" in Josuke for any Jojo fans here), 序 order, 恕 compassion, 除 division, 𥝱 10²⁴, ... and more.

On top of that, japanese is a very context dependent language, so it's very hard to translate if you aren't familiar with it.

No tolerance for art theft

I don't like calling specific people out, but this is just not getting better. Please do not send any hate, just do not reblog or like stolen works. If you will, block known art thieves to avoid them completely.

Check if anyone in the comments or tags mentions art theft.

And to artists: try to make it a habit to sign your work! Art thieves are more likely to get away if the artwork has no signatures or watermarks.

Talking didn't help, they just went right back and their stolen art posts receive hundreds of notes.

Also "Can you show me which artwork it was?", when I went through their entire blog and commented on all stolen artworks, which was like 90%

Please support real artists!
