—Digimon Fields—

Digimon are sorted into "Fields" based on their physiology, habitat or powers. Many Digimon have been associated with more than one Field accross time and different media.

Fields were first introduced to the franchise through the orignal Pendulum v-pet series starting 1998 and the original Card Game (AKA Hyper Colosseum) in starting 1999. The Pendulums versions 1-5 were Nature Spirits, Deep Savers, Nightmare Soldiers, and Metal Empire, with the addition of Pendulum ZERO, Virus Busters. In Hyper Colosseum, up to Booster 6, the field was initially only indicated by the background, but starting Booster 7 a symbol was added. Later releases eventually opted to use plain text.

This line of Fields are Nature Spirits [NSp], Deep Savers [DS], Nightmare Soldiers [NSo], Wind Guardians [WG], Metal Empire [ME], Virus Busters [VB], Unknown [UK] and Dark Area [DA]. In 2006, the new Digimon Card Game alpha released, and dropped the Unknown and Dark Area Fields, and added Dragon's Roar [DR] and Jungle Troopers [JT].

—Nature Spirits [NSp] This field covers many Digimon living in greenery, around lakes or desert areas. They're often considered simple and gentle. Starting the 2006-Savers-era this mostly only contains beast-like Digimon. —Deep Savers [DS] These Digimon live in the Net Ocean of the World. With the 06-era all water based Digimon started being included in this. —Nightmare Soldiers [NSo] Ghost and Demon type Digimon are in this field, as well as Digimon releated to Halloween. Many of them have a relation to darkness, but some are related to super natural themes. —Wind Guardians [WG] This field contains Bird Digimon, and generally Digimon associated with air or sky. Sometimes Vegetation-type Digimon are also included. —Metal Empire [ME] Machine, Cyborg, or Mutant type Digimon belong to this field. Later many "material" based Digimon or Filth Digimon get sorted into this field too. —Virus Busters [VB] Angelic and Holy Beast Digimon are in this Field. —Unknown [UK] This Field would include Mutants or Filth type Digimon. While a lot of modern media spreads these across other Fields, the Digimon Web still acknowledges it. —Dark Area [DA] Evil Digimon, namely Villains from the series, are in this field. —Dragon's Roar [DR] As mentioned above, this Field got introduced in 2006 and includes Dragon and Dinosaur type Digimon previously included in various other Fields. —Jungle Troopers [JT] Just like Dragon's Roar, Jungle Troopers had several Digimon from Nature Spirits and Wind Guardians added to it. It covers Insectoid and Vegetation Digimon.

While most Games don't include Fields, but rather some form of elemental classes based on primary attacks, Digimon World Data Squad does include the Fields as such, and the the DS games have "Species" categories that line up with the Fields: NSp > Beast, DS > Aquan, NSo > Dark, WG > Bird, ME > Machine, VB > Holy, DR > Dragon, JT > Plant/Insect. While the early DS games had one catergory for Insects and Plants, starting with Lost Evolution a Plant species was added.

What kind of elemental types are included and how they relate to each other varies strongly from game to game, the only constant being Fire. There's also multiple ones that overlap. Water and Ice are often grouped up, Electricity often includes Wind or vice versa. Nature, Earth and Combat often cover the same or similar ground too.

These elements also don't always refer to the Digimon themselves, but often only attack moves. And in Digimon World 3 and 4, and Survive, the Digimon don't have elemental types associated with them, but instead their resistance to each one.

I wish the One Piece card game wouldn't use so many anime renders/screenshots for their cards... I mean, look at this difference

Both of these are Leader Cards, so the same rarity.

Also when they use shots from the actual anime the landscape format of the screen doesn't work with the portrait format of the cards.

Left a "rare" from the first Booster Set, right a reprint of the same card included in a later Starter Deck.

This looks even worse when the character has no effect.

So, this is not a "normal art vs. alt art" argument. I get that the rarer cards are usually intended to look cooler/better.

And this predominantly affects the main characters. Maybe it's because they have more anime renders readily available, or because the animation teams are more practiced on them, so they're easy and quick to make. But it just feels like they cheap out on the MAIN cast, with artwork so unimportant it doesn't even have artist credit.

I mean, this is the Straw Hats Starter Deck, which the whole game launched with!

And even looking at the game as a whole, for example, these are all cards we got of Robin:

Not counting the Ms All Sunday cards, as they don't work nicely with neither in Straw Hat Crew themed decks, nor to display in a collection of the crew.

I personally believe Himiko Toga truly represents growing up as a girl who doesn't actually fit the mold of what society expects from being born as one; the refusal to be objectified and subsequently abused to feel obligated to fit in, despite the cost of rebelling.

It's alright when Himiko hasn't developed her Quirk—her sense of personality and identity—because her parents can play dress up with her as they please. Himiko can just be anything they want her to be.

She has been taught being cute is being human and this link is repeated over and over again when we hear about her. Her parents punish her individuality by calling her a monster, denying any possible humanity and forcing her to suppress herself; Himiko cannot just be anyone she wants to be.

This idea is stressed when she is paired up against Ochako over and over again throughout the series.

Ochako is the perfect example of what a girl should be like. She is selfless, innocent, kind and she buries deep down, to an unhealthy extent, all possible ugly things—the ideal, damaging image of what a girl should be like. When she is in love or jealous or even sad, she refuses to let these things show until she is alone as opposed to Himiko, who has learned to let herself go (with a cost, of course.)

What does Himiko mean when she says she wants to be like Ochako? We understand that she literally wants to become somebody else because that is the way she loves, but has Himiko ever loved herself?

In the final battle, Himiko takes the blood of Ochako only to offer all of her blood back. The detail is, when she does this, she keeps parts of her actual features this time. The lightning is used specifically on that side of her face, because Himiko isn't hiding herself anymore under someone else's face in order to feel loved.

She learns to fully love herself because Ochako, someone who has grown on the side of normality, fights to let her know what she means for her. She is ready to take more than one stab wound just to reach Himiko and let her know that she envies her smile. Her freedom. Ochako may have always been accepted on the surface, but she now validates Himiko's way of living however she pleases and even claims to want to have the liberty she does.

And Himiko allows her (and eventually literally pushes her) to live however she wants to as well, freeing Ochako from all the previous expectations she was once held back with too.

I love how despite Tomura being able to kill without hesitation he still has enough empathy to actually care for what other people want and actively remember those things — like when compress wanted sushi in season 6; or Himiko who didn’t want to have a villain name; I know this is like basic knowledge but it makes me happy we can see him being simply human

Reposting of Stolen Art in the Digimon Community

Idk, I wanna draw attention to this. But I don't really know what to say. I've made multiple posts about individual issues before. I just feel like I have to use the platform I have to spread awareness.

Please, before liking and reblogging art, take a moment to check if the artwork has been stolen.

Me and others often try to link the original art in the comments as soon as we come across it.

If someone is a confirmed thief, mass reposting for notes, block them.

Stolen art gets hundreds of notes despite people pointing out it's stolen.

It just breaks my heart to see artists pour their love into artworks for this Fandom, only for it to be stolen and spread without credit.

About a year ago, I called out another user for stealing countless artworks. I went through their entire backlog and looked up every original artist.

I contacted them to tell them to at least give proper credit. They added all my researched sources to their posts, but...

They went back to repost uncredited art again, not much later.

And this user is not the only one. And they have zero shame.

This user stole artwork the artist entered the Digimon Illustration Competition with. This artist, by the way, is an official artist of the One Piece TCG and more.

This thief had the gall to steal another Illustration Competition's Winning Artwork!

i think Watchers are an imposing force, they want things to go their way and they'll always find a way to get exactly what they want.

They're obsessive, they have to watch everything and everyone, they're greedy and self righteous creatures that crawled out of nothing--void.

They can't have children themselves, but if its something they want, they'll find a player in lieu of and convince them to become a Watcher too. Though they're not above straight up stealing them, its just easier if they're convinced.

If a world or server doesn't meet their standards, and doesn't change when they impose their rules onto it, they'll just shut it down. Forcing the players to either leave it or get left behind in the rotting code.

Watchers don't think players are smart enough on their own, players cannot survive or thrive or improve without the will of Watchers gently guiding them into the right directions. They are the viewers, the updates, the patches, the code itself, angels inside the machine craving the flesh.

They don't see anything wrong with any of this, of course, its the correct way, they're happy and truly love the worlds, servers, and players, you just have to be stern sometimes, like a good leader, parent.

evn still i leaned towards transmasc charlie nd always lovd moments tht let me imagine, for a moment, it being true, like his discomfort w taking off his shirt [hundred dollar baby, charlie kelly: king of the rats, the gang exploits the mortgage crisis, young charlie and mac deleted scenes, etc etc etc], or bonnie yelling abt ppl stealing her "charlie-girl" [the waitress is getting married] which i lovd to see as her accidentally misgendering him while drunk off her ass.

having grown out of my phallo issues (nd if ur reading this and u still view phallo super poorly, please do some research and grow too), ive in recent years fully subscribed to transmasc/nb charlie, and view his timeline something like this:

baby -> elementary: charlie refers to himself as a boy, doesnt "come out," simply has no idea he's afab. bonnie lets him dress however he wants and refers to him as asked. when charlie gets confused about his genitals, bonnie says his dick will grow in later lol, makes charlie wear a dress in public restrooms and tells him its just a game

middle: puberty hits and charlie gets confused and scared. bonnie puts him on blockers w.o explaining them ("my mom used to vaccinate me like every month" [the gang gets quarantined]) charlie goes on content and oblivious. STP acquired because hes "a late bloomer" and his dicks still not growing in?? weird. confides this in mac once, but he doesn't understand.

high: charlie finally registers that he's trans after forgetting theres a health class 1 day and not being able to skip it. throws him for a loop a bit but he becomes actively invested in his goals. he gets to start T and wants to have surgeries. "what guy hasnt done some extensive research on his own genitalia?" [mac is a serial killer]

college (aged): able to surgically transition (ty medicare) and continues on with life as we kno him now

joyce, imo, fits neatly into these views.

as a transmasc nb who came out young nd prefers to be seen as just A Guy by strangers, i grew up v vehemently against anything girly that might get me misgendered, but th more i began to 'pass,' th more @ home n my body i felt, th more and more comfortable i am w femininity, th more i wdnt mind putting on a dress, as long as th general public wd see me as "a man in women's clothes." n my mind, i prescribe something not exactly th same but v similar to charlie.

i see charlie "i dont really identify" kelly as afab and nb. i see joyce as a "character" he originally created to distance himself from the dysphoria of putting on a dress as a young trans boy, but that became part of him as the hard lines he drew in the sand as a child became blurry with age and self acceptance. charlie's comfort with himself allows joyce to evolve into a more solid persona, one he enjoys embodying and allowing to become a permanent facet of who he is. he's ok with being referred to as either. they're both him.

so maybe joyce comes out a bit more outside of the bathroom now.

Cirrus knocking on Dew's door at 3 am, pain worn on her face, arms wrapped around her middle, defeated and tired enough she's asking for help - that's how you know it's bad.

He lets her in and she crawls into bed like her body is crumbling with every motion. Dew digs through his nightstand for the pain killers specifically meant to put you to sleep and she pops them dry before he can hand her water. She still drinks half the glass and flops into the pillows with a hiss. Dew waits on the edge of the bed till she's finished tossing and turning and writhing, finding a comfortable enough position to lay in for a while, before he arranges himself around her.

Hand on her belly, pressed flush to her back, he gradually floods her body with warmth until the cramps let up a little. Cirrus mumbles 'thank you' squished into a pillow and he kisses the nape of her neck.

Her periods are always rough, but she handles them well enough on her own. Hates to burden others with her pain. She's vulnerable and nervous and guilty every time she shows up at Dew's door looking for relief for a night. He's never turned her away, wouldn't dream of it, not even on the nights where his bed is already occupied. She just gets squished between him and his guest of the night.

She loves him for his patience with her, and he loves her for her trust in him.
