something so fucked up about Chat Noir’s whole deal is that he is in a lot of ways Adrien playing a character. Like Adrien picked up his miraculous and was told he’d be a superhero so he was like “ok, time to act like a superhero!” and he lets himself have fun w it and play up the role and let loose and kind of just allow himself to be silly and goofy and have fun and for once in his life not care about performing Perfection™.

But. But none of the other characters KNOW THAT. So everyone just sees Chat Noir and is like “look at this guy’s ego. He’s so full of himself. Surely it’d be fair to knock him down a few pegs” without being aware of how few pegs he actually HAS. He’s like the “insecure character who overcompensates in ego” trope except he’s really not doing it unironically, he’s just having a fun LARP pretending to have self worth in his off-hours but nobody else is on the same page about it being a game and he refuses to tell them. He just dramatically pouts about it and lets them laugh and pretends like he’s not internalizing it and it is almost 3 am and my brain forced me to write this instead of sleeping I’m gonna take a melatonin

one of my all time favorite edgeworth moments is his reaction to Maya getting held in contempt during Turnabout Goodbyes

she gets in trouble because she won't let Lotta's vague testimony slide, but her outburst gives Phoenix the opening he needs to keep the judge from issuing a guilty verdict right then and there

and after the trial, all edgeworth can say about it is to tell phoenix to tell maya to watch what she says in court (which phoenix thinks is pretty fucking rude lmao) but he secretly pays all of mayas fines, and gumshoe says he was very touched by her actions

and like. can you fucking imagine being edgeworth in this position?? at the absolute lowest you've ever been in your life, the only thing standing between you and your own execution is a rookie lawyer who is so so so out of his depth. and you're about to get a guilty verdict day one (no surprise there, really) until you're saved at the last minute by a teenager who you have, honestly, never been kind to even once

like, phoenix 100% believes that edgeworth is good deep down, and he knew him before DL-6, so he has evidence for that belief.

But Maya? 3 months ago Edgeworth accused her of murdering her own sister, and it's not like he's been much nicer since then. She has no reason to think theres anything good in him. She has no reason to stick her neck out for him. But... she does anyway. She gets in actual legal trouble for him!!!!!!

the games never really address it but i know in my heart that Edgeworth holds Maya in incredibly high regard. he owes her a life debt and she WILL use that to make him import obscure steel samurai merch for her

i feel like not enough people are talking about pili and pangi's whole 'im a bad person' 'yeah im aware' talk yesterday.

i really loved it. i feel like the assumption from a lot of people, pili included and ros as an example, think pangis just kind of a victim in all of this. swept up with the wrong people, incapable of pulling away.

that whole little conversation was showing pangi is Extremely aware of the company he keeps. he KNOWS pili is a bad person, that he's done things that are selfish and stupid sometimes. he Doesn't care.

like from Day 1 pangi had been so achingly alone and out of everyone who was there, not a single person stuck around besides pili. pili chose him, so now pangi chooses pili over and over and over again

because for all the 'good' people out there it was only 1 person who decided to pick him back and that mattered more to him then whether he was good.

Dan is very grumpy. He’s not pouting, despite what the others would claim, he’s brooding. How many times were they going to get de-aged?! And this time they were all clones! He did not sign up for reincarnation, nor for getting turned into a literal baby. 

He doesn’t care if this world has heroes or villains or whatever, he’s going to bite the next person to pick him up. Happily if it’s one of the scientists currently scrambling around as alarms go off. 

Though he’ll happily do the same to the new colorful people too. Honestly he’s just feeling particularly violent, and it’s not like he can murder with his tiny baby hands. At least his so-called siblings look just as ready to attack as he does.
