honestly just in general it's very exhausting to try to analyze media that is literally meant to be analyzed, only for the replies to be filled with people arguing not against your analysis, but against the premise that the media can be analyzed at all.

i don't even know what to say about it without starting to really betray my frustration, so i'll just settle with— just don't engage with analysis posts? Remember when Life is Strange was a singular game about a young woman with the ability to rewind and manipulate time as a clever metaphor for talking about changing one's past regrets? The power was incidental to the story, it existed thematically as a way to delve into Max's character and how she regrets how she treated Chloe in the past. More importantly, how she comes to regret how she interacts with people in general and her struggle to connect to others. It wasn't because "OH NEAT SUPER POWERED GIRL" it was just a clever story telling mechanism that related to the major themes of the game.

I mean, did anyone honestly think Mileven was happening? Really? This isn't even me trying to be a troll. I've been watching this show since it came out and I've only interacted with the online shipping fandoms for about a year or two at most. Mileven was cute until Season 2.

They've spent the last two seasons fighting, unable to express their true feelings to each other, and apart. The only time they're ever happy is when they're forcing it (Season 3) or faking it (El in Season 4). The military is also hunting one of them and doesn't seem all that keen on giving up. Where was this idyllic fairy tale "and then they lived happily ever after at the end of a cul-de-sac" going to fit in?

look whatever happens in S2 with Viktor I just need to see him in a proper, flashy, aggressive, messy-ass, cinematic, pure Arcane-style fight scene.

I need to see him fuck someone up. I wanna see his war face. I wanna hear him scream out incomprehensible animalistic sounds that could be taken as either sobs or laughter, perhaps both. I wanna see missiles and rockets and death rays galore. I wanna see his nose bloody and his hair a mess and probably his eyes going all magicky glowy purple. he's probably used to gore and gritty stuff like that since he sees it often being a jujutsu sorcerer and all. not to mention his technique is literally blood. maybe he's desensitized to gore films, the most you'll get from him is a disgusted scowl.

BUT DID YOU SEE HOW QUICK HIS EYE OPENED WHEN HANAMI SHOWED UP BEHIND HIM. YOURE SO FUCKING FR ABT JUMPSCARES. Noritoshi is that guy who wouldn't scream or yelp but gasp really loudly and jump out of his skin.

i feel like they get him most in horror because of the music building up anticipation. if its one of those fake outs where the jumpscare comes a bit after, he's fucked UP. It makes him instantly miffed, as he tries to regain his composure. He swears he's not usually like this, it got him by surprise is all..!

Noritoshi is the type that'd only watch a horror movie if the story is rich and complex. He's the type of guy to like open endings that make you think.. if it's a guilty pleasure movie where all the protags make stupid decisions, he gets annoyed right off the bat.

He's groaning and complaining about how imbecile the characters are, but would still watch it with you because you personally invited him. If he's lucky you could fall asleep on his shoulder or [insert movie cliche here] how could he pass that up? But Noritoshi wouldn't be able to focus on you if he gets twice as annoyed because its a bad movie + jumpscares. it still startles him, but the movie is so terrible, he's embarrassed it got him, especially in front of you!!!

if you get involved and you tell him to quiet down, Noritoshi would shift his focus towards you. like that awkward guy who thinks he's being smooth and lowkey about how he cuddles up next to you. He wants to be the tough guy who's shoulder you can hide in, and he is!! just not.. with jumpscares.......
