Original doll
her outfit is cute, but I don't associate it with a GARDEN MYSTERIOUS TEA PARTY!

Double posting because I also finished ✨ her ✨ I thought about drawing a couple more lalaloopsy characters before posting but I'm too impatient haha I love how she turned out so much ;u; 🩷🩷 lil pie cutie!! (a literal cutie pie omg!!) I also took slight creative liberties and added an extra stripe of cream on her dress to tie in the ice cream scoop better! I can't wait to draw more of them aaa ESPECIALLY THE UMBRELLA ONE SHES SO COOL!!
#waaait i always thought the dress skirt was missing something to feel complete!!#the stripe of whipped cream is perfect!#lalaloopsy#the noodle arms too 😭💗#fave

I redesigned Maria Garcia and Roxie Grand because they weren’t giving like the other holiday collector dolls.
Especially since Maria is day of the dead and she’s wearing a flamenco dress and has roses, not marigolds on her and I’m assuming Roxie is a Christmas themed doll. Because idk, she’s definitely not Halloween

Zombaes Forever Art!
Massive shoutout to the person on a two year old reddit post who identified the character artist for Zombaes Forever-
Savannah Alexandra is an independent character designer who previously worked on Mattel's "Cloudees", she has a YouTube and an Instagram and a website with a shop! She has a lot of super cool original art on all those platforms, you should definitely check her out and support her really cool work.
But on the subject of the Zombaes, on her website she has a few examples of her Zombaes Forever art--including some that I believe are for a cancelled doll/set!
First there's high quality versions of the coffin art cards for She's Got Bite, So Chill, and Hanging Around from series 2. Then coffin art cards for the bull dog from the Scream Queens cheerleading set, and the dog from the Zombadie to Love wedding set.
Then we've got part of the big coffin's background art from the Abandoned Pet Shop set, and the coffin background from the Big Cat Un-Rescue set. I don't have the larger sets' coffins available to check, they're buried in storage, but I'm pretty positive that's what each one is.
And then there's the standout, the one that isn't for any Zombaes doll that hit the market.
They've each got an arched outline that makes me think Spinmaster might have been considering changing the coffin shape of the boxes to an arch shape? Each one has the same female character with light pink skin, a cat ear headband, and long black hair that ombres to a greenish-blue at the ends. As with all Zombaes coffin cards, the art shows or alludes to how she died, and each death here is caused by this purple cat with yellow eyes.
The character is wearing a different outfit in each card, and given the detailed full color art all this seems like an idea pretty far in development, these are not early concept sketches, they're usable final art. Maybe a theme focusing on different ways to die?
The art is so cute, quintessential Zombaes. A touch dark for a typical kids toy, as always, which is delightful. I have to think a figure of the cat would be included with each doll. The cat is killing the doll by releasing spiders, popping a blowup ring, setting a scorpion in bed, lighting a fire, locking her out in the cold, getting her electrocuted by lightning, tripping her with yarn, and finally just straight up jumping her. (look at the shoes being stored as extra legs in that last one! amazing!)
Now that I look again, the character is wearing the same black boots with knee-high fishnets in multiple cards. Maybe this was a closet set, with the closet shown in the final card, that came with multiple outfits and a coffin card for each? That seems far more likely the more I think of it. And it's a damn shame we never got it, not only because this art is beautiful, but because having extra Zombaes clothing would be delightful! All of the outfits are very cute, especially the purple leopard print dress in the final card, and the blue dress in the freezing cold one. I wonder what this character's name would have been, given she has so many ways to die.
(And while this post is about Zombaes art, I found a guy on ArtStation showing the 3D models of Miss Everlasting and Glitter Bomb he worked on for a Zombaes commercial! Very cool: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/29YBbJ )
#this is so cool#the zombaes art is an absolute delight#zombaes forever#concept art#a little closet set would've been great
