Maybe I'll start posting things myself instead of just reblogging stuff? Who knows. I've made a lot of fandom art, lately, so I'll probably post that.

so why'd you start writing fanfic/supercorp? ❤️

Let's see...I'm going to start with a little background before I answer. The context matters in the situation. :) I've been writing since I was 12 (I'm a Gen X'er so that's a long ass time). I loved it. It was an escape for me. However, when I started mentioning that I wanted to become a writer 'when I grew up', people in my life constantly told me that I would never make a living doing it, etc. I kept writing despite that and took creative writing classes in college, but those same voices continued.

Eventually, I stopped writing. Those negative voices took the joy out of it. I'd still write journals or thoughts occasionally. Some poetry here or there, but no stories, characters, or world building. Not the way I used to.

Flash forward to the pandemic, I was running my own health & wellness company on the side, teaching kickboxing part-time, back in college finishing my degree, and working full time as well. When the world shut down, all of those things went away. It made me realize that I needed things I truly loved to fill my cup too. Things that brought ME joy.

I got sucked into Wynonna Earp. It became my comfort show when I lost everything else. I spent lots of time on AO3 feeding my obsession with the show. Eventually, my creative brain took over and I started writing in the Wynonna Earp fandom. One day, I finally got the courage to post one of my stories. Probably the most anxiety inducing thing I've done in a long time. LOL. The one unfinished WyNaught fic was my very first post on AO3. That was in 2021. :)

But man, once I laid eyes on the chemistry between Katie/Mel, there was no turning back. Their characters and the relationship between them sparked something inside me that I haven't been able to stop since.

Supercorp, the tons of phenomenal writers in the fandom, and the beautiful people surrounding it have single-handedly reignited my love for creating stories. I will always be grateful.

Currently reading: Right now I'm reading "Poem 754: Ambivalent Heterosexuality in 'My Life had stood — a Loaded Gun'" by Lillian Faderman. It's a particular reading of the Emily Dickinson poem.

But I picked up a copy of "A Deadly Education," yesterday while perusing in a book shop so I'm excited for my poetry assignment to be over. I also got a reminder to check my copy of Aurealis Magazine, so I'll read the short fiction in that.

Currently watching: Wynonna Earp. I'm mid S2. I did refer back to some episodes of Supernatural to slooowly continue my heavily timestamped Sam/Gabriel fic though.

Current obsession: My own writing, mostly. It's my main hobby, so... what else is there? I've been playing Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley also. I don't know, true "obsessions" are rare for me.

Hahaha that’s a fair question - well we’re having Italian food bc that was the meal the Cullen’s made for Bella when they first invited her over and we’re making a red drink (sprite, grenadine, and ooze red candy squeeze & add in alcohol if ppl want it) and for dressing up, ppl dressing up like the characters lol I like the glitter idea lol

That certainly shows a lot of dedication to the movies. I hope you guys have fun! Also, I can't really remember anything special in the way they dressed, but then again, I only saw the first movie, so I just picture all of you covered in glitter and that's final :D Iron jawed angels is such a powerful movie! It's extremely well played and written and I just love it so much. Oh lord... I love TV shows, but if I absolutely have to pick, I'd say "Penny Dreadful". That show has so much macabre beauty in it. I loved the writing, the poetry... I carry so much love for this show! It touched my heart in a way that no other ever has. Other notable favorites are "Wynonna Earp", "Killjoys", "Salem (2014)"... To be fair, there's plenty more, but I'll stop here for now. Do you have a favorite TV show?

First Ever Ship: Hmmmm. My memory (and AO3 account) don’t go back far enough to tell me. I think I was reading John/Sherlock and Steve/Danno before I got an official account? I loved Willow & Tara but never in a fandomy way. Same for Coach & Tammy Taylor. I think the only het ship I’ve been super into since getting all fandomy is Phryne/Jack.

Currently reading: Always fic. But as far as officially published books, I’m really just waiting for the last of MXTX’s Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation book to come out in English. So in April I’ll reread books 1-4 and then 5 comes out in early May. And it’s hard to make myself read other books when I so desperately want to read that. And I’m not letting myself rewatch The Untamed again until after I read book 5.

Currently Watching: Wynonna Earp. I tried it once before and couldn’t get into it at all, but I’m enjoying it this time, though the writing in s2 is a bit eh.
