fun detail I only put into context after seeing the post-fade jail romance scenes with all the companions: lucanis is the only one where rook is surprised when they realize he's there as he starts talking, because they didn't hear him come in haha. (Bellara and Neve knock before entering, like relatively normal people fhsda. Harding's scene starts in medias res but from the staging my vibe is that she and Rook entered the room together. Taash walks into the room ahead of Rook. If he (or any Weasley really) was put in Slytherin i think the rest of the family would really not take it well at all

I think regardless of what my opinion on Hilary Hahn as an artist is I really can't help but admire her for not being afraid of aging and actually being outspoken about not being afraid of aging in an era and culture that is absolutely horrified of it. At some point she just went "yeah I don't look like I'm 30 anymore and that's because I'm 45" and stopped shying away from the fact whatsoever. SEX ISNT CATEGORICAL. there are plenty of people who do fit into the binary categories, but sex, the combination of in-utero development with further effects of puberty that results in physical traits typically according to one's genes, IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN BINARY.

you can *assign* people to one or the other, either by ignoring outliers manually "fixing" them so that they fit into your categories, sure. you can create a two-category system that way, but that explicitly denies the sheer amount of possibility built into sexual reproduction, and life as a whole.

binary sex is a social construct. biology has always been far more complicated than M or F, A or B, Yes or No.
