Listen/purchase: Queendom Vol. 1 by Women On Wax Recordings
Detroit's DJ Minx has relaunched Women On Wax Recordings with Queendom Vol.1. The compilation of dance tracks from LGBTQ+ artists was released in June to recognize Pride month. The six-song track listing has music from Minx, DJ Cent, Shaun J. Wright, Nita Aviance, Sydney Blu and Debbie Graham. House and techno are equally present whether it's DJ Cent's tribute to Detroit's late house king Ken Collier or Minx's racy instrumental "Let It Ride." The music does its job of reintroducing the label's duty to release electronic music rooted in Detroit's rhythms. Minx started Women On Wax as a collective of DJs and artists in 1996 and the label followed in 2001. Last year Seth Troxler's remixes of "A Walk In The Park" were released by Factory 93 Records. In May Minx's The Throne EP came out on Higher Ground. Queendom Vol. 1 is available on all streaming platforms.

"Bo started the town and lied! It's so obvious he did it all!"
Tumblr media
(If yall don't stop babygirling my man Vincent)
Bo and Vince are equally traumatized and equally fucked up in different ways.
Bo never received love or affection without the threat of what would happen if he wasn't good, any negativity was met with harsh punishment and he clearly was troubled at a young age with no help, called a monster as a tiny boy, has physical scars from it he has to see daily, still seems to hold his mother in good regards (Especially script Bo) but subconsciously takes his mommy issues and need for control out on bound women to both re-live his childhood trauma and to possibly get both love and revenge on his mother through women (No excuse obvi just pointing it out WHY I think he does it).
Vincent was encouraged to cover his face and wear a mask even at home, his deformed face was the main focus and his parent's did nothing to make him feel like he deserved normalcy (Mama said your talent would make up for what God took from you), watched his brother be abused and probably had Bo resenting him for it and he might resent Bo for being the problem child ruining their childhood, was groomed to follow in his mother's footsteps, has little to no communication to anyone but Bo (Maybe Lester) and is probably a perfectionist that needs control as well from the pressure of being the Golden Child to his Mother and was the one that waxed her corpse.
So idk WHY we all think Bo was the only one that could've started the town's wax corpse thing??? Yeah he is an arrogant blow hole that loves manipulating people but the entire movie he might as well be the ringleader that's just talking to the audience and suckering people in but Vincent is the one really doing most of the heavy lifting behind the scenes. Yes, that could be Bo manipulating him and making him do it all or it could be them as a team (I vote this one) and Bo is just obviously more inviting or it could be Vincent doing it all and Bo is just helping to reap the rewards of helpless women at his disposal and getting out pent up rage on people.
It could've been Bo looking for an opportunity to finally take out his sadistic rage
It could've been Vincent who did it in severe grief over his Mother aka the Handler that made him codependent on her and is just as twisted as his twin
IT COULD'VE BEEN TRUDY/THEIR MOTHER! Just because Bo lied to Carly; who says he's lying to Vince??? Seriously, Trudy was a shitty Mom and a bit nuts herself if you ask me strapping their fucking child down till he bleeds or making their kid a wax mask to cover their face even at home so who is to say in her final years she wasn't the one that did this??? (Not counting the script that heavily hints Bo killed both his parents after years of abuse but still didn't say WHO waxed the corpses first)
I accept all HC but it would not shock me if Bo convinced Vincent to do it after preserving Trudy...If Trudy did it and they really are trying to make their Mother proud...Or if Vincent in his grief waxed Trudy's body in memory of her but also waxed a person as revenge/spite and Bo being the guy he is went with it.

i loved asa and yoru’s whole interaction this chapter <3 this framing for their goals as being the same but soo incredibly different was great to me. they agree on this goal but the sentiment for each of them is wildly incompatible. like they are opposite sides of the same coin in pretty much everything they say in this chapter which is kinda how they always are but i really enjoyed it and i think it's setting up some great tension for later on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but imo the last few pages of their convo were the best tho. im gonna lean into this as asa rejecting the fame for “noble” reasons like staying true to her goal of saving chainsaw man, or even rejecting the fame so she doesn't get her hopes up about being loved and get hurt again, but that last panel of her smiling really changes the conversation. asa wants love just as bad a denji does, and fujimoto is definitely creating parallels between them about accepting fame/ love from the nameless masses in place of an intimate relationship. plus i feel like this connects back to his previous commentary on parasocial relationships replacing personal ones (ch 121) where it was established that asa values the solitary lifestyle and doesn't mind using parasocial relationships to replace real ones in order to avoid getting hurt. she likes the fame and appreciation even though shes trying to lie to herself about it, and i could see her using this to fill an emotional void.

Mijoda Dajomi, "Daughters of Rain"
The headwear, designed to capture and store rainwater, serves as a speculative response to a future where water becomes an increasingly scarce resource.
The collection encapsulates the duality of fashion and function. Crafted from waxed cotton, a fabric donated by luxury brand Barbour, and further treated with organic beeswax.
This hat is designed to be both stylish and sustainable. Its leather-like appearance and sturdy construction allow it to capture up to 5 liters of rainwater while being worn.
Dajomi’s choice of materials ensures that the hat not only repels water but also effectively collects and retains it without leaks.
The primary purpose of her work is to provoke thought, raise awareness, and spark conversation about our relationship with water and the environment. This ethos is woven into the very fabric of the collection, which draws inspiration from the attire of lay sisters – women dedicated to charity and social causes.
Just as these sisters united in their mission, the Daughters of Rain are imagined as a future collective that serves their communities by managing and distributing the vital resources of rainwater.

Why the hell would a man want his junk waxed by someone not trained to deal with duck and balls? Unless he gave a female name and didn’t disclose his sex so he can create a video for social media clout. And no he is suing for “moral damaging”. He exposed his junk to a to someone who thought they were working on a woman then got angry. If anyone should be saying for moral danger it’s the salon workers.
A Brazilian man who says he is “trans” and adopted the name Kim Flores Carlos, has filed a lawsuit against a waxing salon, which refused to serve him last year. Carlos booked a waxing appointment at Millanea Instituto de Depilação with the owner, Isabel Martins da Silva, by telephone.
But, when Carlos came to the salon for his appointment, they turned him down for being male. He recorded the interaction with an esthetician and with the owner, and uploaded it to his TikTok. It is said that he later removed the video from his account, but the video ended up on YouTube and went viral, with thousands of likes and shares.
Carlos also left a one star review about the salon on Google, saying that they refused to attend to him because he is a “transwoman.” He said the staff informed him that they don’t service trans people and don’t know how to “work” with his body. “They have no qualifications or work ethics about ‘diverse bodies.’ All the waxing clinics I went to strived for my comfort and well-being and offered a humanized service. Shame on this salon!”
On December 13, 2022, Carlos filed a lawsuit online (Special Civil Court) against the waxing salon, demanding compensation for “moral damages.” The salon was given 15 days to respond, and is seeking legal advice.
According to Ms Silva, the man gave a female name, “Kim,” when he booked the waxing appointment. When he arrived at the salon on June 11, 2022, Silva took him to a private room and called the female esthetician who was going to attend to him. But the esthetician came back to the reception minutes later, saying that the client was a man who was only wearing male briefs, with full male genitalia (testicles and penis) and had an erection.
“That’s when I asked her to tell him that we didn’t do waxing on males,” said Isabel. She says that when the esthetician went back to the room where Carlos was, he started recording the interaction, first with an esthetician and then with Isabel at the reception.
In the video, Carlos can be heard telling the unnamed esthetician “I am a trans person, is this an issue? It isn't, is it?” The esthetician who was assigned to attend to him that day is seen saying “We only do women here.” The man then says that “In this case, I am a woman.” He asks the esthetician if she’s had experience with “trans people” and she informs him that she never attended trans people. “We don’t have anything against trans people,” she says, “we just don’t do it (waxing on male genitalia),” but told him she was going to take the issue up to the owner of the salon.
At this point, Carlos became angry and admonished the esthetician for not being trained in “all types of bodies.” Next, he was heard saying he is very upset because he has “never seen a waxing salon which doesn’t work with several types of bodies.” Further, he told the esthetician that they should have “specialized a little more” to attend to “all kinds of people,” questioning her: “Where is it written we don’t attend people with x or y genitals?’”
When the esthetician tells Carlos that the salon doesn’t wax men, he is heard saying “Then you have to put a sign saying ‘we only wax pussies.’” But Isabel told 4W that they have a sign at the salon’s entrance saying “No entry for men.”
The next woman in his video is Isabel herself. “You can see me in the video saying to him that we don’t wax male genitalia because the estheticians at my salon are not trained for that,” Isabel told 4W. The man says to the owner that it’s “embarrassing” for him to book an appointment and hear that they “only wax women.”
Carlos is heard saying to Isabel: “I wax for years, my [pubic hair] is very thin, I take hormones, what makes me different from other people? Is it my genitals? But, why do (my genitals) matter?”
This is not the first time a salon specialized in female waxing has refused to serve men who say they are trans. In Canada, Jonathan (who calls himself Jessica) Yaniv filed lawsuits with the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal in 2018 against at least 15 beauty salons after they refused the service to him for being male. The next year, after a judge found Yaniv “deceptive,” targeting “small businesses for financial gain,” the case was dismissed.
