as someone who has unknowingly been in a "mentally unstable femme/do anything for you butch" [i was the do anything for you butch] dynamic i have to say it did severe damage to me and my idea of self worth. i was walked on in horrendous ways. i was not treated like a human or a person with feelings. i was manipulated. i was sexually coerced to do things that no one should ask someone else to do. it has taken me the better part of a decade to recognize the damage this did to me, and it took a strong network of friends (and a particularly supportive and protective femme friend) to help me realize that i deserved to be treated like a person.
i am really tired of seeing butches and femmes alike endorse the idea this is uwucute. its not. its extremely damaging. butches, please find your self worth. recognize that you have needs too. femmes, respect that butches are people. saying mentally unstable femmes use service-oriented butches is downright wrong and disrespectful. i dont care if its a joke or memepost. im exhausted. i know there is a lot of loneliness in being butch and femme. but we don't need to be glorifying unhealthy relationship dynamics, even as a joke. you can get the dynamic you seek (dominance and control) from healthy individuals that respect your personhood. everyone in the community deserves better.

thinking abt luffy, and how he grew up so poor that if he wanted to have a decent meal he had to go into the forest and fight big, dangerous animals. but at least he was strong enough to be able to fight, while there were people that lived close to him that had to live amongst the trash, hoping to find scraps they could sell so they could eat once during the day.
thinking abt how luffy values food so much, how he always eats as much as he physically can. how he values the people that feed him, that eat with him. whether its a luxurious meal or just an apple they share.
thinking abt how pretty much everytime he saved/liberated a place/island/nation was bc someone from the place had fed him.
how when he actived gear 5 he was fighting to save a nation that its main problem was starvation. and not only that but the food there had also been weaponized to mock them and make them suffer more. and it was fighting for them that he fully reached the form of nika, the form that will allow him to bring down the current government and its system which creates these areas where people starve
also! how in zoros introduction we see him eat something that was on the dirt, partly bc he hadnt eaten in a long time and partly bc someone made it and risked themselves to bring it to him. and how sanji is always happy to cook for anyone whos hungry and absolutely hates food waste. and how these two are luffys wings

"Once again, the inside is full of a deep, dark, particle fog. And out of that fog steps Eve. She's smiling brightly, but not unchanged. Around her is a cloak of purple particles, billowing bright and regal behind her. In her hand is a torch, its handle made of golden particles, its flame burning brightly."

The brotherly moments are what I’m looking forward to the most for the sequel. I’m hoping we can potentially get a scene that will top the reunion scene. Are there certain kinds of brotherly love moments you’d like to see in the sequel?
Big same.
What I'm most looking forward to is all the little subtle shows of affection: headlocks, side hugs, cap tugs, belly pokes, shoulder nudges, jabs, jostles... all the bits of body language that made their relationship feel so close and real in the first movie.
And of course, the return of that silly little secret handshake.
Another thing I want to see is more of Mario's protectiveness.
I know some are hoping that he gets a little overprotective after being separated from his bro in the first movie, but if we don't get that I want to at least see Mario's pre-adventure protectiveness.
Or the kind of protectiveness he exhibited in the Super Mario Adventures comics, where even though he's focused on the fight he always keeps an eye on his brother, and the moment Luigi calls out for help he immediately becomes first priority.
On the flip side, I want to see more of Luigi being the emotional support/voice of reason. He may be a ball of nerves in moments of peril, but he's proven to be very levelheaded overall.
Since I picture the arc of the sequel being Mario slowly coming to embrace the role of a true hero– with all the responsibilities that come with it– it'd be nice if he had a low moment of feeling like a failure that Luigi talks him out of.
Now, if they're going to try and top the reunion scene in the first movie, there is one surefire way to do that: slow down.
As good as that hug was, there was so much going on that it was hard to feel the full impact on the first watch.
Quiet things down for a moment... pump the breaks... focus in on the facial expressions... let us really feel the hug. Throw in another forehead touch while you're at it.
But you know what I'm really really excited to see?
Sword and shield fight dynamic.
I desperately want to see them fighting side-by-side without the superstar! Give me Mario spearheading the charge while Luigi watches his blindside! Mario throwing himself mindlessly into a dangerous stunt so long as Luigi is there to catch him, Mario fighting in close combat while Luigi draws the target's attention with long-range attacks, both of them falling into perfect synch when they need to deliver an extra-powerful blow.
I am so aggressively obsessed with the idea of their character traits being fully exhibited and explored through the way they approach a fight, you have no idea.

I've decided to overanalyse them again and put them in a different fandom situation.
IF HMS WOULD GET GET MANIPULATED BY A FOUR-DIMENSIONAL, BIRTH-DEFECTED TRIANGLE!
Mind is most likely to. It would take him a while, but he would cave, if Bill had the patience to work with him. He would cave because Bill promised him the thing he wants most: power and recognition from the other two. Being promised that he'd finally be recognised as important to Soul and not as an annoyance to Heart, made him accept the deal.
Heart would, but Bill would have to do it based on his insecurities. Heart is more mentally guarded and would probably deny any promises that Bill would give him. Until Bill would use his emotional instability against him, making Heart deal with him in an attempt to prove him wrong.
Bill would try to team up with Soul, since they both have the ability to see through different timelines. Soul would rather die than accept this, though he knows the offer is tempting. Bill's numerous attempts to get the (arguably) strongest side as an ally would all go to nothing, as Soul would usually yell or threaten death.
