I need some kind of reverse Beauty and the Beast AU with any of the Octotrio, where they were cursed to become human, and need to fall in love in order to retake their true form and return to the sea. But although they do at first make an effort to mingle with humans, they can't really imagine falling in love with one, due to their vastly different life experiences and the fact that they would be separated once the curse was broken.

Not to mention, the merfolk that humans are familiar with are "the pretty ones" - the ones that have flashy tails and a normal skin tone - so they're not exactly keen to reveal the truth. Maybe it happened accidentally once. Mirrors display their true appearance, so someone caught sight of them in one and... well, the situation was handled, but now they mostly confine themself to avoid trouble. They're well aware that their personality already leaves something to be desired. Given the circumstances, who could possibly fall in love with someone like them?
