With Thanksgiving dinner done, the world is now officially focused on Christmas for the next month—so here’s one of my all-time favorite holiday songs. Sure, the jokes didn’t age that well (you need to know your punk rock circa 1977 pretty well), but that riff is Grade A—so ebullient, so joyful, so wildly happy, which is what any holiday song should be. Damn, I never get tired of this classic. No-hit wonders The Ravers released “Punk Rock Christmas” in 1978 and it holds up today because of that Keith Richards-quality riff. That awesome William Stout cover and red/green splatter vinyl don’t hurt either!
