Absolutely incredible how a season based on chaos and trickery got won by the one of the most chaotic and impulsive players not through living up to that wildness but by doing the opposite and subverting it.

in danny's defense: the word "freak" is. a mini beserker button for him for.... obvious ghostly reasons, so like, even if its not directed at him, he still very much unappreciates Martinez's insults at Battinson. Danny may or may not be projecting.

he's not going to hurt the guy! not in any serious or permanently disfiguring way at least! But he is going to leave mean sticky notes on the square part of his spine that he can't reach, and stick salt in his 3AM Late Night Crime Scene Coffee, and kick the bottom of his heel while he's walking so he stumbles. And other petty, infuriating things that tally up and boil over, over time.

I know next to nothing about WC despite reading like maybe five of the books when they first came out years ago. Anyway, is there any cat you have like a vary convoluted genetics head canon for? I would love to hear about it

Hmm, I think I'll take this opportunity to talk about Moth Flight, because her case was a tricky one, and because I love her. (sue me. she was wrong about so many things, but i love her.)

Moth Flight is pure white in canon. Full white is dominant, so she should have at least one white parent, but they are "brown" and "grey tabby" (they don't even have any white spotting). She has white, white spotted and no-white children.

I solved this mess by throwing out the full white and making Moth Flight pointed instead. Close enough, especially if I add tabby and dilution. (Everyone in this family is a tabby anyway.)

The orange/black situation is not better. Her parents, Wind Runner and Gorse Fur are both black-based, and all of Moth Flight's kits are yellows, which i almost always interpret as cream. So my best solution was to make both Wind and Moth torties.

I don't have a family tree, but i'll describe her whole family now:

Wind Runner: black tortoiseshell ticked tabby (heterozygous ticked)

Gorse Fur: blue mackerel tabby with white (low white, heterozygous)

Emberkit and Morning Whisker: black tabby with white

Dust Muzzle: blue tabby

Moth Flight: blue tortoiseshell tabby point with white

Micah and Honey Pelt: cream tabby

Blue Whisker: cream tabby with white

Bubbling Stream: cream tabby point

Spider Paw: cream tabby point with white

Wind Runner and Gorse Fur

Something that occurred to me this time…

… Is that Eliot deliberately brings Hardison w/ him to confront Moreau the first time. He tells Nate that he and Hardison will do it (don't worry, I also Love Hardison taking the moment to be like 'hey, are you okay?' bc those two usually express themselves through bickering so much that it clearly telegraphs just how off Eliot is being that Hardison is dropping the usual banter to be serious).

Which for one thing, says something about Eliot's confidence in Hardison in general, but also, like… Yes, Parker's probably not the choice for that introduction, it's not her style, but Nate or Sophie could also have played the part. He could have tried to go alone. But he pulls Hardison.

Obviously he's not trying to put Hardison in danger, he makes it quite clear in all other scenarios that he does not tolerate Hardison in danger (visual cues in The Gone Fishin' Job my beloveds), the others are well aware of the fact that he's Done Some Shit and are equally unaware of his connection to Moreau. And to be honest, I can't pinpoint an exact reason why I think he might have done it, chosen Hardison to be the one who finds out first. Maybe he suspected Moreau would underestimate Hardison, making him safer (relatively, if course), then someone like Nate or Sophie. Maybe he thought it would be best to have Hardison's tech skills as back up. Maybe he thought Hardison would roll w/ the punches the best. Maybe he just wanted Hardison there for morale.

I don't know, but it's a moment that didn't really occur to me the first time, but I think is actually quite meaningful in a more emotional way.

Here's a little doodle of my Cookie from Cookie Run: Kingdom! This is Blueberry Lemon Cookie. She may not look it, but she is a Princess. The kingdom she grew up in was a union between a blueberry cookie and a lemon cookie, and both parents' ideas were to form a strong bond with their respective birth kingdoms!

Blueberry Lemon Cookie is a middle sibling with an older and younger brother. The oldest was in line to the throne, while the youngest went abroad to study magic because he had a talent for it. when she was younger, long before her younger brother was born, Blue would constantly fight with her older brother, to prove to her father that she could be a good ruler... but her father had already decided that his oldest would rule.

As she grew older, she gave up on the thought of ruling.

Her oldest brother was in charge of the guards, him being the head general currently, and someday, her younger brother would be in charge of the Royal mages. But her? She had chosen a new ambition something no one would be brave enough to do in her Kingdom.

Blueberry Lemon Cookie wanted to protect her kingdom from the skies and was successful in grabbing a few full hearty cookies to assist in that dream. To both her parent's dismay, they always wanted her to have a good carefree life as a princess but their daughter had found that boring compared to her brothers. She didn't want to be some doll in a castle, and rarely ever wore dresses.

As time went on, Blueberry Lemon Cookie learned archery and was given a rather stubborn blueberry buttercream wyvern to train.
