It's a really weird feeling watching the DMC anime (I had to sit through it twice btw) and being disappointed by it because all I can notice are things it got *wrong*, meanwhile most of the people around me like it and have no problem handwaving the issues with "well it's a reimagining/it's not canon". Yet the more I think about it, the more I find myself being annoyed by even small things that weren't handled well or barely made sense, and the more I find myself disliking it.

...Especially the last episode and that fucking green day 'murica montage. Like what the actual fuck was that?

     Delight... A shine most pure will avail itself to the stretches and curves of Rosalina's face. It was a childlike smile, one of instant vigor and zeal. You could read the fond memories the simple question conjured forth like the daily paper. Truly, she needn't even give an answer proper, for her expression said it all! But she would offer a light motion of her hand— a beckoning, a wave signaling to follow.

     Chase after the shuttlecocked comet bounding through her interstellar home. Lumas turn with curiosity as their mother flies by, whistling words of interest during her whip past the main console. Carpets ruffled underfoot as she ripped past the library and following kitchen. And before long, the hatch upon the mother's own personal living space would open with a wave of the wand.

     Then...? In all her boundless elation, the energy about her seems to break itself down, reconstituted thusly as humble reverence. Gravity-defying flight cuts itself short, and heels fall lightly against her carpeted floors within. Short steps across the room break the hushed quiet in three-quarter time.

     The ambient hum of machinery toiling away endlessly to maintain this space station of theirs indefinitely. The ticking of a clock sat by a bedside table. The intake of breath... and the smiling exhale of air following not moments after. Bend at the waist and reach across her bedspread. Arms reach out to the side of the decadant bed's simple white pillow.

     Resting upon it, as she always has, and as she always will, was a small stuffed Star Bunny. Fur of white, ears tipped apricot. And by the gods, would Rosalina's smile brighten to that of nigh blinding. Elbows pressed into the plush of her bed, knees finding the floor so as to level herself with her little one. A painted nail brushed the length of her ears, the off-hand cupping her fuzzy cheek with delight.

     "Yes... ever by my side since the days of my far-flung youth, I've made sure to keep her with me even throughout all this time. My mother handcrafted this little one for me on my... my..." —Hmn. No matter what, the memories of those otherworldly days would fail even the greatest of minds. But then, like instructions written on lines of code, arms would reach out instinctually and squeeze two at a time: once on both the rabbit's ears, then once on both the rabbit's arms.

     Two sets of long and singular squeezes, like the answer to her quandary would be pressed into the skin of her thumbs.

     "—Ah. Yes, that's right. My fourth birthday was when my mother had stitched this little one up for me. I still remember feeling quite lonely back then. Rather shy was I before my brother was born. So I was given a friend that would be with me whenever and wherever, all to remind me that the world isn't quite as scary with someone friendly... by your... side."

     ...

     ...Silence. She stared at the star bunny in well and proper silence.

     Maybe that's why the brain forgot. Not just to make space for new memories, but because remembering hurt so damn much. These interstellar eyes had seen so much, and sometimes it felt like every good memory dredged up twenty bad ones beside it. Everything just seemed to... coagulate in her old age. And she was still young for a star's lifespan. Quite young, in fact. T'was the downside of letting the humanoid in her survive for so long, she supposed.

     She wondered when and where that would be forgotten, too.

     —The head shakes itself, eyes shut with a tight grip. No more tears left to cry, unfortunately. It just stings. The feeling is blinked out, sights returning to the ancient little Star Bunny.

     At least she's made it this far with the cosmic entity...

     "...Her name is Constance, Connie for short, and I love her very much. I'll be honest, I'm quite loathe to cast magicks upon her, but I've had to so that the wear and tear of time doesn't break her down before I'm ready to see her off.

     She is my mother's handiwork, and the only thing worse would be having to replace even a single one of those aforementioned stitches myself. So she mostly lies here beside my pillow. Too much movement might damage her. But she's near for every little conversation I have with myself in these four walls. I thank her for the company, no matter how selfish I may be for desiring it so."

He’s def one of the characters that I like more than hate! his struggles are depicted pretty well and when he isn’t getting beat up he can have some pretty funny moments!! His connections that aren’t romantic in nature especially is where we truly get to see his character shine!

i just saw a post that was obviously vagueing about that popular vampirism as disability post being like "OF COURSE a post being like 'what if vampires (bloodthirsty predators) were actually the victims and people reacting negatively were the villains' would do well on tumblr, this is the Nothing Is Ever Your Fault website" and it just pisses me off because its like, hey man. modern vampires (the ones that came about in victorian times, that are loosely based on eastern european folklore) have existed for like a hundred years now and people have been characterizing vampires as a 'species' in a bunch of different ways for just as long, and the person who made the original post clearly chose to characterize them as basically normal humans mentally but a bit fucked up physically. yknow, kind of like disabled people

Also. Not related but kind-of related, I do love the idea that everyone who knows Vendetta knows that ne is a massive troll at times. So every obvious song they pick to sing at karoake is just examined for the double-meanings and reasons why, because Ven is a troll! There's always reason ne is a little shit!
