If you insist to understand the people on this planet, you'll go insane. Some of them will be beyond your wildest comprehension. I can never really get them despite the hardest efforts of both my head and heart - they'll be out of my reach. So leave people at where they're, your purpose on earth is not to figure them out...

People have all sorts of reasons for doing the things they do. And there is something to be said about understanding that and not taking those things personally. But to be clear, it's not about understanding everyone's reasons for doing this thing or that thing let alone everything they do. It's about not automatically assuming you know what they are.

It's as presumptuous as it is ignorant to assume you could. Hell they may not even know why they do those things they do. There may be a reason, they may know of it, but can't quite pinpoint it exactly. Or they may just be agents of chaos who do it for the kicks or not reason at all.

There may be a reason, yet it may not be a good one, but perhaps if you knew what they've been through or were up against, it might make more sense to you. It might surprise you and may not be consonant with what you might have assumed. You might even learn a thing or two if you truly knew.

Again, you'll never fully understand why people do the things they do, believe the things they do, or vote the way they do. Not if you don't know them, ask them, or speak to them anyways. One of the major problems we have today is rooted in the assumptions we make about why people we don't know very well and/or are at odds with politically and philosophically do what they do.

You should come to be cautious if not outright dismissive of those claiming to have access to the "hidden motivations" or "secret beliefs" of other individuals - particularly those they don't know particularly well and are in disagreement with.

I hate how people will look at popular indie artists who had one or two songs go viral on TikTok and start making fun of anybody who listens to them. "Oh you listen to Lemon Demon, Will Wood, Jack Stauber, Glass Animals, and Mother Mother? Tsk, don't you know that is stupid TikTok neurodivergent white transmasc preteen music? It's so mid and bad you should listen to real music–" you are a pit of misery

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

My brain is spinning… Lately people constantly have my brain spinning in millions of different directions… I miss the days when my mind just rested, those days when the only things that turned my brain were things that were exceptionally thought-provoking, deep intellectual conversation, or an amazing spiritual experience. Yeah… Those were the days. If by any chance anyone can relate, please like this post or at least reply. Please let me know that I am not the only one whose brain is constantly spinning anymore. A little bit of solidarity would do me a lot of good. 😊  I'm speaking to those people who see a post like this and have absolutely no idea how to respond.



Additional note: I think some of the most brilliant minds in the field of psychology would all agree that ultimately, no matter how much time and thought has gone into studying this craft, it is hardly ever possible to understand why people do the things they do. Yes, I think when that realization has been reached, you truly understand as much about psychology as you ever can.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

Granted, that’s probably not the first thing Danny should be saying to the guy that just bit the curb, but in his defense; he’s not running on 100% right now either.

The man -- tall, towering, and broader than Danny is tall -- whips around on his heel, black frayed cape flaring out impressively. Danny would've whistled in appreciation, but he takes the time instead to wipe the back of his hand across his mouth, smearing the blood running from his nose across his cheek.

"Sorry." He blinks widely, not even flinching as the man with the horns zeroes in on him. "That was rude of me. I have a really bad brain-to-mouth filter; Sam says its what always gets me into trouble."

And she's not wrong either, per say. His smart mouth is what landed him in this situation -- with blood blossom extract running through his veins and cannibalizing the ectoplasm in his bloodstream. Thanks Vlad.

The man grunts at him; a short, curt "hm" that shouldn't make Danny smile, but he does because he's somewhat delirious and probably concussed. The man keeps some kind of distance, sinking towards the shadows of Gotham's alleyway like he dares to melt right into it.

If it's supposed to scare Danny, it doesn't work. Danny's never been afraid of the dark; he's always been able to hide himself in it. He blinks slowly at the mass of shadows.

"You look hurt." The shadows says, blurring together around the edges. Danny squints, and licks his lips to get the blood dripping down his chin off. Ugh, he hates the taste of blood.

"I am." He says, "My godfather poisoned me. M'dying." The agony of the blood blossom eating him from the inside out looped back around to numbing a while ago, so all he feels is half-awake and dazed.

"Hey," Danny stumbles forward towards the man, a bloodied hand reaching out to him. "You-- you're a hero, right? You're not attacking me; which is more than I can say for most costumed people I've met." Maybe it's a poor bar to judge someone at, but he's already established that Danny's not in his right mind.

The man makes no change in expression, but Danny realizes blearily that it's hard to tell with the shadows on his face. He stays still long enough for Danny to latch onto the cape -- stretchy, but almost soft under his fingers.

He looks up blearily into the whites of the man's eyes. "Can you help me? I don't-- I don't wanna die." Again. He doesn't wanna die again. He blinks slow and lizard-like. "I mean- I'll probably get to see mom and dad again, but I told them I'd at least try and make it to adulthood."

There's a clatter down the street, and Danny's ghost sense chills up his spine and leaves a bitter, ashy taste in his mouth. He immediately knows who it belongs to even before the deceptively gentle; "Daniel?" echoes down the way.

"Daniel? Quit your games, badger, Gotham is dangerous for children."

Danny's mouth pulls back, and blood spills against his tongue. "Please." He rasps, and grabs onto the shadow's cape with both hands. "Please. He's going to kill me. Please--"

"Daniel? Is that you?"

His lips part, dragging in air to plead with the darkness again. He doesn't need to, the whites of his eyes narrow, and the cape whirls around him before Danny can blink. Soon swaddled in shadows, the Night lifts him up, and steals him away.
