in which Jack Hotchner comes to your classroom after spotting Mr. Scratch on school grounds
margovember
who? spencer reid x fem!reader category: flangst content warnings: takes place during early season 12, mr scratch/peter lewis, kindergarten teacher!reader, mom!reader, wife!reader, the spencer reid dilf agenda, nondescript illness, lying to your spouse word count: 1.9k a/n: this just popped into my head while i was watching season 12 AND @lilacsandlavenderhaze has a request in for kindergarten teacher!reader angst AND i wanted to give lia reading material for her train ride so we are killing three birds with one stone
You’d just turned your monitor off when you heard a knock at your door. Initially, you assumed it was Janet, a member of the custodial staff, coming to see if you had left for the day, but as you approached the door, you didn’t see anyone through the small window.
Your footsteps faltered, hesitating to open the door because you weren’t sure what you’d find on the other side, you were certainly surprised to find Jack Hotchner standing outside of your door. Frowning, you stepped to the side as he shoved into your classroom, “Jack? What’s wrong?”
Sometimes, Jack would sit in your classroom while you finished work, and you’d take him home to help out his dad and aunt, but as far as you knew, the BAU was in town, and Hotch didn’t need any extra help today. “He’s here,” Jack said ominously, his tone enough of a warning to prompt you to close your classroom door.
“Who’s here?” You asked, clicking the door shut and turning back to him. He was nervous, clutching the straps of his backpack like it was a lifeline.
Wide-eyed, Jack peeked out the windows next to your door, “Peter Lewis.”
Instinctively, you locked your classroom door, before standing in front of Jack, “Honey, how do you know who that is?”
He gulped, probably wondering if he’d get in trouble for knowing something he shouldn’t have, but in this case, his knowledge might have protected him. “I saw my dad’s files out on the kitchen table, I recognize his face.”
Technically, Peter Lewis wasn’t a name you were supposed to recognize, and yet, you’d heard the name from Spencer’s lips countless times in the last year. Even more so since he managed to escape from prison, “Where did you see him?”
“Outside by the busses,” he told you, following you through your classroom until you made it back to your desk, searching for your cell phone. “Are you gonna call Uncle Spencer?”
You shook your head, scrolling through your contacts until you came across one Aaron Hotchner, “I’m calling your dad.” Blood drained from your face as realization dawned on you, “Jack, do you know where Henry is?”
He tapped on your desk anxiously; the fidgeting was the only movement that clued you into his nervousness. Jack’s facial expression was completely stoic, and you wondered, not for the first time, if it was genetic. “He went home early,” He told you, “His dad picked him up.”
Nodding to yourself as you clicked the call button on your phone and held it up to your ear, grateful that you didn’t need to be a haven for multiple BAU kids. You’d had both boys as students in kindergarten, but Henry was in second grade and Jack was in fifth now.
“Hello?” A familiar voice came in through the phone, instinctively, you reached out a hand and smoothed Jack’s hair back.
You smiled sadly at Jack, you didn’t call Hotch often, and when you did, it was seldom good news. “Hey, Hotch,” you greeted him, “I’ve got Jack here in my classroom, and I think we have a bit of a situation.”
Explaining the events of the afternoon to Hotch, you heard him packing up to leave work on the other line—the click of his briefcase, the placement of pens in a mug. “Can you put me on speakerphone?” He asked. Of course, you obliged, letting Jack take the phone in his hands, “Hey buddy, you did the right thing by going to Mrs. Reid’s classroom.”
“I saw him in your folders,” Jack said, trying to explain himself.
There was a fine line that needed to be walked when it came to what you all decided to tell your children. In this case, Jack’s snooping might have been what kept him safe. It made your chest ache, and it made you anxious to get home to your own kids. “I know, it’s okay. I’m gonna leave work and come pick you up…” His voice trailed off for a moment, “Can you give the phone back to Mrs. Reid?”
Jack handed the phone to you, and you smiled softly at him, “Hey, why don’t you take a seat in one of the bean bag chairs?” You gestured to your classroom’s comfy corner and brought the phone back up to your ear, “Hey.”
“Would you mind staying at the school with him? Just until I can get there, I just have to make sure I let Dave know that I’m leaving,” he informed you.
You swallowed thickly, it was a wonder that you were more nervous than Jack was right now, but maybe that was a blessing in disguise. “Yeah, that’s fine, Hotch. I’ll be here for as long as you guys need,” you assured him, watching as Jack dutifully opened his backpack and pulled out a binder.
Hotch released a sigh of relief, “Thank you, Y/N.”
After hanging up the phone, you went over to your snack cabinet and pulled out a package of goldfish crackers, bringing them over to Jack and holding them out for him to take. They were his favorite when he was in your class, and you hoped they still were. Maybe he was just humoring you when he took them gratefully, “Do you want something to drink?”
“Just water is fine,” he answered, focused on the pages on his lap.
You hesitated, “Are you sure?” You wandered over to your desk and opened the small fridge that you stashed beneath it, “I have some yogurt drinks… I have apple juice. Does your dad usually let you have juice?”
Holding out the juice box like an offering, you let him see it before he answered, “Sometimes.”
“Well, I think he’ll forgive me today,” you admitted, acknowledging the extenuating circumstances. You kept the juice boxes in your classroom in case of a low blood sugar, but you worried about giving him too much sugar without his dad’s permission. Then again, Jack could probably handle more sugar than your toddlers could.
He thanks you again, this time for the juice box, and sets it on the small side table with his opened bag of goldfish.
You noticed his drawings in the binder, he was in the process of coloring in a bunch of spaceships, but it wasn’t his precise coloring that you took note of, it was the fact that he was coloring in lines that he had drawn himself. Quickly, you texted your nanny to let her know that you’d be a little late getting home before sitting down in the bean bag next to him. “Those are really well done, Jack.”
“Thanks,” he murmured, focused on getting the straw into his juice box.
Deciding to try again, you wiped your clammy palms on your skirt, “Is that what you want to do when you grow up?” You asked him, peeking over at the papers again, “Design spaceships.”
Jack shrugged in response as he took a sip from his juice, “I’m not sure.”
Nodding in understanding, you let him sit and continue his drawing, smiling when he periodically snacked on a goldfish. You wondered if Hotch had the same fear as you. That one day, one of your kids would come up to you and proclaim that they wanted to be an FBI agent just like their dad. You wanted the best for your kids, and you wanted them to follow their own dreams, but not at the cost that the FBI took.
You both startled when a knock came at your door, you gently touched the side of Jack’s chair, “It’s probably just your dad,” you reassured him, “I’ll go look.”
Setting down your snack, you warily approached your classroom door, releasing a sigh of relief when you saw Hotch on the other side. “Hey,” you said, opening the door for him, “Jack, he’s here.”
He started shoving his things in his backpack, minding his juice and snack on the table as he tossed the bag over his shoulders. “Hi, dad,” he greeted.
“Hey, bud,” Hotch greeted with a small wave before he turned to you, “I didn’t say anything to anyone before I left, and I was wondering if you could refrain from mentioning anything to Reid.”
You shifted uncomfortably on your feet, “I don’t keep secrets from my husband, Hotch,” you told him, shrugging slightly as you did.
Hotch nodded, “Could you just… delay it by a day, then? Just until I’m able to sort some things out.”
Meeting his gaze, you recognized the fear in them; it was the same fear you saw in Spencer’s eyes every time an UnSub got a little too close to the team. The look you saw when you and the kids were put into protective custody. With that in mind, your head bobbed, “Sure thing, Hotch.”
A day, you could do a day, you assured yourself as the three of you said your goodbyes, leaving you to relock your door and return to your desk. You took a seat, resting your chin in your hands as you eyed a photo on your desk. It was from last Christmas when you and Spencer took the kids to meet Santa. They were all grinning at the camera, even your youngest, who usually bore a scowl.
Closing your eyes, you tried to convince yourself to get up and head home when your phone started ringing. You sighed at the sight of the Caller ID: Spencer.
Swiping the screen, you brought it up to your ear, “Hi, honey.”
“Hey, what’s wrong?” He asked you immediately, “You sound upset.”
You sniffled, “No, it’s fine. I just…” you searched your mind for a fib, “There’s something going around the school. A stomach bug or something.”
In the background of the call, you heard the dinging of elevators, familiar BAU sounds, “Yeah, it sounds like Henry’s picked something up, so JJ’s headed home early. I’m worried Jack might’ve gotten it too, Hotch left in kind of a hurry not too long ago.”
Chewing on the inside of your lip, you nodded to yourself, “Uh, yeah. I’m just about to head home myself.”
“Well, with the team down two, Rossi decided we should just call it a day, so I’m actually on my way out too,” he told you. “I was wondering if you wanted to try to take the kids to that new playground out by Falls Church, but if you’re not feeling well, I can just take them and let you rest.”
You laughed weakly, more at the situation than anything, “I’d love to, and the kids will like it too.” At the very least, they’d sleep well tonight after playing their energy away.
He hummed over the phone, “Perfect, I’ll see you when I get home?” He asked, acknowledging that you had a shorter commute than him and would likely beat him home.
“Yeah,” you confirmed, standing up and gathering your things with your phone wedged between your shoulder and cheek. “Hey, Spence?”
“Yes, lovely?” He chirped in response, clearly in a much better mood than you.
You sighed, “I love you.”
He was silent for a moment, “Are you sure you’re alright? Is something wrong?”
Shaking his head even though he couldn’t see, you answered, “I just really, really love you.”
“Well,” he responded, his grin apparent in his tone, “I really, really love you too.”

Au where the Drake’s don’t die (they’re just bad parents) and as Tim gets older they start spending a SLIGHT bit more time with him to train him to take over Drake industries. They start trying to set up a marriage to a daughter of a good family for Tim, but he’s dating Bernard, who is not only a man but from a “subpar family.” They demand he break it off.
Tim refuses to break up with his boyfriend, threatens causing a huge scandal and making out with Bernard in public if they engage him to anyone.
Jack and Janet threaten to disown him, bc they think Tim’s been living the soft cushy house (manor) life hidden away from the world on thier money this whole time, so they’re all, “You’ll come crawling back, you need us and our money, this will teach you a lesson.”
Tim, who has been practically independent since he was four, has extensive robin training, access to zetatubes, powerful friends (and enemies) in every major city across the world, at least eight fully stocked safehouses in Upper Gotham alone, a personal bank account under his own name with combined Drake and Wayne allowance, at this point is only in Drake manor when his parents are here (a week with an important gala every four months maybe) and has LITERALLY had a discussion with Bruce about a custody battle due to negligence so he can call himself a Wayne on paper not even a week before, just laughs.
“This is Gotham. I’ll get Bruce Wayne to adopt me.”
That makes them mad. His parents show him the disowning paperwork and kick him out. Tim doesn’t even run to Wayne Manor, he meanders over while tapping at his phone.
Bruce already had the paperwork ready. The Drakes don’t know what’s happening before it’s too late. Tim is a Wayne. They try to challenge it but they relinquished all rights and Tim has receipts of parental neglect and also he already has a room at the manor.
Tim takes over as Wayne Industries CEO (the sooner the funnier) and immediately starts being awesome at it, smug ass grin in every photo, the other Waynes cackling in the background as the Drakes seethe and thier stocks plummet. The next gala they go to, Bruce makes absolutely sure to turn to Tim and go, “So son, when is your boyfriend coming over for dinner?”
Bernard comes back from a family camping trip to find out his boyfriend started an upper crust civil war for the right to date him. And also he’s invited to Wayne Manor. Wtf Tim.

I just. I love the party I DM SO much. They're ridiculous. You know how some parties are murderhobos? Mine are litigation hobos. I think this is because the clorcerer is a former IRL lawyer and his IRL wife started out playing a fiend-pact fire genasi warlock. Her pact was negotiated by Daddy's Lawyers. And since we've established she has access to a pack of infernal attorneys, this has become their go-to.
They got Mammon and Asmodeus arguing over an infernal FDIC situation.
They brought formal charges against the Grand Vizier of the City of Brass.
They stole the Tamlin (hereditary title) from the Queen of Air and Darkness by getting her tangled in a custody dispute with Hell over his soul. The Janet Precedent has been invoked. (Asmodeus is going to notice the repeated chicanery at some point.)
The genasi is going to help our Fairy wizard depose his lightly despotic archfey father by seducing the man and then taking his kingdom and his heir in divorce court.
They're working on ousting a dragon from her involuntary indenture as a museum curator/collection object belonging to a Dao and I suspect contract law will be involved.
I will not at all be surprised if the Warforged decides to somehow seize the patent for his manufacture from the Noble Dao who holds it and liberates his siblings that way.
Just. These litigious bastards. They're ridiculous. I adore them to bits.
#dnd#they're all fucking unhinged#the druid is just here to Fuck Dragons she's collecting them like pokemon#I swear their approaches to problem solving are either 'lawsuit' or 'woe; kobold swarm be upon ye'

Background on the Tim hiring Deathstroke thing in this https://www.tumblr.com/toomanyfandoms11/749474013724721152/toomanyfandoms
In my little universe that I like to maladaptive daydream in basically, Janet Drake, Slade Wilson, and Wade Wilson are all siblings.
Janet is the oldest child, and thefore according to family tradition the only child that cannot legally be linked to any crime (plz ask me about the Drake family lore. Also, Jack was the one killed by Captain Boomerang ).
Slade and Wade are twins, (their father had a sense of humor and their mother was too out of it to complain.) and bear the title of murder uncles.
Getting to the Joker bit: when Jason was being killed by the Joker, Tim was on a “family holiday”(training trip) to upstate New York (X-Mansion, most of the X-Men were too afraid to ask about the 10 year old that followed Deadpool around except for Wolverine, who taught him how to skin a moose, and Madelyne Pryor for some reason) and as a result did not learn about his death until about a month or so after it happened.
When Tim learned about his death he decided to wait a bit for Batman to settle down, thinking that he just needed to get the anger stage of grief out of the way and then he would go to therapy like a normal person. Tim was the sort of kid that would read the picture books about getting over grief when he was waiting in the doctors office.
Unfortunately, there were no picture books about superhero phycology. After about few months, Batman showing no signs of stopping and expressing his grief like a normal person, Nightwing finding out about Jason’s death through a newspaper tabloid and the two of them having an argument on top of the Gcpd station that was live-streamed by anyone with a phone and became headline news for a week, Tim decided to take matters into his own hands and hire his current favorite uncle (Wade had recently given him a pair of socks as a gift instead of the forensics book he wanted) and ask him politely (blackmail him with the time Slade had given him coffee while babysitting) to kill the Joker, “Pretty please Uncle Slade? I’ll make you cookies!”
Slade accepted this offer and went (with no small amount of glee/relief) to finally put a bullet through that waste of carbon’s skull. But, alas, Paul Verlaine (King of Assassins, Executive in the Port Mafia, Ex-Titans member and former boyfriend of Nightwing) got there first. After this, Tim’s story goes the route you would expect (with a twist~). After one too many times of Batman putting criminals in the ICU instead of talking to a therapist, Tim decides enough is enough and goes to Nightwings apartment in Bludhaven to ask him to arrange an intervention for Batman with the Justice League, or he will release Batman and Nightwings identity’s to the public.
Dick Grayson, after hearing this, dose not go “This seems like Bruce’s problem” and drop him off at the Batcave. He instead goes “who’s sassy lost child is this”, has the Bat-adoption gene arise for the first time, and decides that he will adopt this child who ran around Gotham alone stalking Batman and Robin, or die trying.
Janet, after talking with the man who drove her child back from Bludhaven at 4:30 am, is slightly leaning towards the second option, but she knows that A. Jack is a terrible father, and while she tries her best, she is also not winning mom of the year anytime soon and B. Shared custody is a thing.
And so, after 3 sword fights (one for each Drake-Wilson sibling), 5 panicked calls to Alfred about “Holy frick I’m turning into Bruce”, many late nights studying “how do I parent a 10 year old”, 1 realization of “holy **** I really do want to be a parent”, and a very well paid lawyer ( Matt Murdock), Dick Grayson becomes the legal parent of a one Timothy Drake, with the media explanation (that is true, but deleteing the superhero parts) being that Janet and Jack realized that they could not be the parents the Tim deserved to have, and that Dick Grayson could. (They got alternating weekends and cultural holidays (Jack is Chinese).
After a month or so, Dick takes Tim to meet Bruce (Dick did the intervention thing, it took the combined forces of Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Alfred, and Catwoman to get him to go to therapy.) and in the meeting Tim cheerfully reveals that A. He had figured out Batman and Robins secret identities when he was 9 (He went to a gala that the Wayne’s were at, and Dick did a quadruple somersault off of a chandelier that Tim remembered Nightwing doing) and B. He once hacked into Shield on accident when he was looking for a website that had a show he liked on it

Baby Tim taking a bunch of street kids home when his parents are away (maybe before a storm/freeze) like “there’s only really enough food for me… and it’s a bit far away… but it’s warm!!!”
But Jason Robin goes to check on the kids that night and is freaking out when he can’t find them, thinking they’ve been kidnapped and trafficked. He and Batman spend all night looking for them (cause no oracle yet).
Eventually they get access to a security cam that shows all the kids getting on a bus to Bristol and are like “wtf? They don’t appear to be being forced?”
They end up breaking into Drake Manor at like 4 am to a group of confused street kids and one Bristol kid freaking out that Batman and Robin think he did something wrong.
Once they finally calm Tim down and confirm what happened they assure him he isn’t in trouble (but he probably shouldn’t be bringing a group of street kids into his home without his parents knowing). They start asking questions about his parents though and… well that’s just not allowed to continue.
For the night, everyone stays at Drake Manor, including Batman and Robin (they would take them to Wayne Manor but that would be a bit suspicious). In the morning all the homeless kids are brought to a newly Wayne owned shelter (that is about to have all its staff reviewed).
Bruce is planning on chewing Jack and Janet out over the phone, but Tim freaks out and accidentally reveals he knows who’s under the cowl.
They have a nice long talk about how Tim knows (Dick is so getting a phone call tonight) and keeping secrets, and in the end Bruce decides to take Tim to Wayne Manor… just until his parents come home (which ends up being 4 months…they do not retain custody over him)

notes for the Jack and Janet get divorced instead of going to Haiti au that I have been ruminating on
We get to avoid the Obeah Man arc (misogynistic and extremely racist. I’m glad to be rid of it)
Ultimately I see Janet getting custody, but I feel like there’s also the question of if she would want to be a single mom, and how she would feel about being one. She’s already doing most of the parenting between the two of them, but there was still some divide of work. She was a working mom in the 90s when she didn’t explicitly need to be. Her career is probably important to her. Suddenly not having the fallback that Jack provided would be pretty daunting
Another question irt custody is how hard Jack would fight it. He’s a typical conservative dad. He thinks that child-rearing is mostly a woman’s job, but also I can see him having issues at the thought of a single-mother household. Additionally, he hasn’t really had any revelations about his parenting yet, so he would be even more insulted than canon Jack about anyone implying that he wouldn’t be able to properly care for Tim, and he’d probably fight it on principle
I have no idea what would happen with the company, actually. I am not a business person. They’d probably still have to work together though, since they’re both described as heads of the company, and I imagine they’d both be reluctant to leave
Google is telling me that divorce proceedings tend to take 3-6 months when there aren’t any significant issues, which is certainly not the case for these two, and potentially upwards of 14 months when there is a lot of arguing. Which. Is so long. That’s such a time sink I don’t want to do that. But they have so much to argue through. And they’re probably both bitter so they’d be trying to undermine each other. But this is very much affecting Tim so maybe they’d want to wrap it up as quickly as possible. But also you know Tim would be hiding that from them as much as he can. Why must I be so concerned with verisimilitude in this specific aspect
FINE it lasts a year but no longer. I don’t care. They can sort out their shit in a year or not at all we have a canon timeline to stick to, however nebulous it may be
Tim is not doing good. Assuming this all starts at the same time the Drakes went to Haiti in canon, Tim hasn't really developed that closeness he has with the others yet. He and Dick only really get close during Knightfall/Prodigal, his relationship with Alfred only really develops after he starts going out as Robin (source: his second? maybe? Robin mini. The one where the Joker breaks out of Arkham while Bruce is out of the country. Where he says he doesn’t know Alfred that well) and he hasn't even met Barbara yet. He doesn’t even have his civilian friends because he's still attending boarding school right now and he’d be home on winter break. The only person he could go to for emotional support with this is Bruce
Tim wouldn't tell Bruce that that's what he's doing, I doubt he'd even tell him about the divorce without prompting, but he does definitely start spending as many hours as he can get away with in the cave. For no reason in particular
I’m beginning to run out of ideas. On further thought, I think Jack and Janet would want Tim to have a say in deciding who he stays with, or they’d at least want his opinion on it even if he doesn’t have the final say in it.
He could think himself in circles forever trying to find a good answer, or at least one he can make himself say, but none of that would change the fact that what he really wants is to stay with them both. He wants this to not be happening. He wants them to not be getting a divorce. He wants to actually live with them, not just spend 9 months a year in a boarding school and only see them on weekends and holidays
#tim drake#batman#robin#janet drake#jack drake#a surprisingly little amount of tim in an au that logically really should focus on him#I may or may not elaborate more on this. probably#if anything in this is out of character. what are you a cop? ignore it

"Sweet, but Psycho."
I HAVE SOME LORE FOR HER SINCE SHE'S COOL LIKE THAT. Check it out under here. It's a little long, however.
Before she was a huge K-pop Idol, Melodie worked at Starr Park in the robot factory. She always had a love for music and would usually sing while on the job. Eventually, she decided to pursue music and become a singer.
As she grew in popularity, she began to grow apart from people as she grew higher in the music ranks. So, she decided to create a friend with what she'd learned from being at the Robot Factory. Of course, this robot would be none other than Stu.
Unfortunately, this is where things take a turn for the worse.
When she hit her peak, Stu began to notice her begin to change... and for the worse...
She became egotistical and belittled those below her. She'd get mad if anyone around her talked about musicians positively and accused them of not loving her. If there was something someone didn't agree on, she'd say that they didn't care about her. Stu, while usually being in the front of all this, couldn't help but be awfully concerned.
Eventually, this all got to a boiling point when she just disappeared from the spotlight. No one knew what had happened or where she was besides Stu, the only one who knew.
Melodie's devilish attitude had gotten the best of her and out of shear anger and jealousy... she had killed someone and was arrested immediately. To make matters worse, both of her children were taken out of her custody since they declared she was way too unstable to raise them. Stu took custody of them. She presumably WOULD lay there to rot for what she did.
But SOMEHOW, out of NOWHERE, she was bailed out by a certain company that offered to let her out if she agreed to work with them again. Of course, she agreed and was let out. The next morning, the news of her return hit the media, and thousands of fans rejoiced; including a naive Janet who was also happy to see her mom again. Stu, however, was scared as hell and afraid of what she might do to the kids. Most importantly, he wondered...
Who let her out?

Making It Work ~ MYG
⤜WORD COUNT: 3.9K
⤜PAIRING: Yoongi x Fem!Reader
GENRE: angst, angst with a soft and happy ending, divorce proceedings, breakups, love, cute, sweet
⤜Copyright: © DreamEscapesWriting - February 2023
⤜MASTERLIST
A/N: I wanted to go with a way that wouldn’t be impossible for reader and Yoongi to get back together, so I hope this is okay for you my love.
Today was the day that you hadn’t exactly been looking forward to for the last two months and now that it was finally here you were dreading every second of it. Divorces were a messy situation for everyone in the world but you'd been in luck when Yoongi had asked for it not to go to a large court. The two of you were going to settle everything inside of a solicitor's office, in front of a judge and all of the right witnesses. That also meant you didn't have to deal with screaming fans nor did you have to deal with flashing cameras, everything that was happening within your divorce seemed to be kept on the down low which you respected Yoongi for doing which made this a little easier. Not that this was ever going to be easy to deal with but not having to deal with a huge court of people did make it easier to manage.
“Miss Yln, do you have your witness?” The judge asked as she looked up from her file and in your direction, your eyes looked away from the door as you turned to stare at her. Janet - the judge - had been accommodating of your situation with Yoongi and was doing everything within her power to make sure you both could do this amicably. That was the thing, even though you and Yoongi were getting a divorce from one another, there was no bad blood, no fighting over who got to keep the house or who got some of the money or shared custody over your dog...everything had just been simple and nice which worried you a little. Did Yoongi care that little that he would rather have this over and done with? Or was it simply that he just wanted you to move on and give you whatever you wanted? It was so hard to read him when you didn't see him anymore. God, you hadn't even seen him since the day you'd walked out on him.
“Yes, my friend Chan.” You answered her, glancing over at your shoulder to see Chan sitting in his seat with a warm smile on his face. Ever since the breakup with Yoongi Chan had been the one person in your life you could turn to whenever you needed something. The man had been there from the moment you’d walked out of your shared home with Yoongi and decided to go through the divorce. You'd been staying with Chan and his roommates for a while until you felt comfortable going back home and it was nice to have a friend there that wasn't directly in contact with Yoongi.
“It’s lovely to meet you, Chan." She smiled a little turning her attention back to you as she directed the last question,
"Do you know where Mr Min is?” You glanced down at your phone to check the time, it was way past the time he was supposed to be here and you knew he was either caught up in work or traffic. It was always the thing he would blame whenever he was late for something important. Like your anniversary dinner, the whole reason this divorce was happening was because of Yoongi’s addiction to his work.
“You knew what this day meant to me Yoongi and yet you still didn’t bother to show up, not even a text to let me know where you were,” You stared at your boyfriend who was in his usual spot in his studio, hunched over the desk with his earphones on one ear and not the other. The same spot he'd been in two nights ago when you came to remind him about your family coming to visit you.
“I got busy,” Yoongi merely grumbled without saying anything else to you about it, his eyes never leaving the screen not even for a second to look in your direction. It was as if he had no idea what the day even was which broke you even more. There was a time in your relationship when Yoongi would drop everything to spend time with you and now it felt as though you were constantly putting in all of the effort only to meet resistance.
“Do you know what today was?” You quizzed, placing one hand on your hip and waiting for him to turn and look at you. One look would inform him that you were dressed in formal attire and that tonight was your anniversary, not only an anniversary but the day your family were all coming to your house to have a nice formal meal with the two of you. Yet, your husband hadn’t even bothered to show up to meet his family-in-law nor had he wished you a happy anniversary.
“Yeah. that meal with your family. But I’ve had other stuff on my mind-” Yoongi had spun on his chair a little to see you and he stopped speaking when he saw what you were wearing. You looked completely breathtaking and he smiled a little, running his tongue over his bottom lip as he took in the sight of you. There was no denying that you looked completely hot in what you were wearing and he let out a low growl at the sight of you.
“Our anniversary,” You told him plainly, ignoring the way your heart was racing at the way he was checking you out. You didn’t care that he found you hot right now, all you cared about was the fact that he had missed your anniversary and made you look like a fool in front of your family and the restaurant the meal had been at.
“No, our anniversary is the 30th and-” Yoongi shook his head at you, he would know when his own anniversary was, he'd had it written down on the desk calendar.
“Yoongi, it is the 30th,” You mumbled, scoffing a little as you shook your head and looked up at the ceiling trying not to let the tears completely take over. If you cried in front of him you'd feel completely weak and that was the last thing you wanted. Right now, you wanted him to come home and let all of this go so you could at least spend the night of your anniversary together. But he didn't even move from his desk, he just shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck. For a while now it felt as though Yoongi didn’t give a shit about you or anything that was going on in your life, every day felt like a losing battle and you were finally having enough. This had been the straw that broke the camel's back so to say.
“I’m so sorry baby, I’ve been so busy lately I didn’t even realise what date we were on,” He sighed, running his hands through his long unkempt hair. Normally you would have dragged him out for a haircut by now and made sure he was looking after himself but it was hard to even get to see him with how busy he was and how stubborn he was when it came to working. You knew things would be like this with Yoongi and you’d signed up for that when you’d agreed to marry him, you knew there were going to be good and bad days but right now it seemed there were bad then there ever was good.
“But you’re not, if you were sorry you wouldn’t keep doing this.” You gestured around his studio as you drank in everything that was going on inside. There were blankets all over the sofa letting you know that he was sleeping there - which you knew already since you were waking up to an empty bed every morning. Then there were the takeout containers left over the spare sides, the stubble on your husband's face and the sloppy state of him.
“I have to get this work done, you knew this when you agreed to marry me,” He grumbled, throwing his vows back at you. Part of his handwritten vows was about you accepting that his work was important to him. Something you'd agreed to and accepted for years now but it didn't make it any easier to see Yoongi harming his mental and physical health for a bit of music.
“Yes, I knew that. I also knew that you knew when to take a break and weren’t going to go into burnout all of the time,” You snapped angrily, you didn’t want to get so angry with him but it was difficult when your own husband couldn’t see what he was doing to himself and his marriage.
“You’re prioritising your work before yourself. When was the last time you showered?” You stared at his greasy hair and then down at his beard, it was as if he didn't care what he looked like as long as he got his work done. Something, that you'd come to notice over the years, was something he did right before having a burnout. The last thing Yoongi needed right now was to be burnt out at work, you needed him to come home where he could relax just a little.
“I can smell you from here. You need to shower, put yourself before your work for once-”
“I can do whatever I want, I need to get this finished.” He snarled, turning back to his computer and sliding the second headphone back onto his head without hitting play on anything. You stared at the screen as you realised he wasn't composing or even listening to anything and you shook your head.
“You need to look after yourself,” You breathed out, moving to stand closer to him as he shook his head at you. Yoongi didn't want to to fight right now, he was about an hour's work away from finishing the songs he needed to do and then he would go home.
“What I need is for my wife to leave me alone while I finish working on something that earns us both money,” He hissed out at you, your heart clenched inside of your chest. Yoongi had snapped at you about leaving him alone before but never like this,
“You used to love me taking care of you,” You laughed dryly, moving around the office as you began to put take-out containers into a bin, trying your best to clean up the place even a little so he could start the process looking after himself.
“You used to let me come and see you every day, bring you food and make sure you showered,” You stared at him as he continued to work on something, either playing ignorant to what you were saying or he really couldn’t hear you over the music. You rolled your eyes at him, shaking your head as you moved closer to his desk and stretching your hand out to take the mug that was beside his keyboard, only he moved suddenly making you jump and knock the mug - and its contents - all over the pages that were on the desk.
“Shit,” you hissed out, watching as the coffee started to stain the pages, smudging the ink that was all over them.
“What the fuck! What the fuck are you doing?!” He yelled, jumping up from his desk and grabbing the sheets, shaking them and letting the coffee splatter everywhere inside of the room while you shook your head,
“It was an accident, I was just trying to clean up and help-”
“I don’t need your help,” He grumbled staring at the music sheets in his hands that were now completely unreadable and ruined thanks to you.
“You say that every time but you know you need me Yoongi. You just don’t-”
“I don’t need you anymore! I’m fine on my own!” He yelled out at you, staring you in the eyes as you felt the burn of every word scoring into your veins and making its way directly to your heart.
“Yeah? Then I guess you don’t need a wife anymore!” You quipped at him, hoping that maybe he would see the error in what he'd said to you.
“Maybe I don’t!” He screamed at you, and you were quick to leave the room, slamming the door behind you praying he would follow after you but he never did.
You thought - back then - that maybe things would blow over and that the two of you would kiss and makeup but it never happened. Yoongi stopped replying to you and the two of you gave up on everything you’d been building together for almost nine years and said to get a divorce.
“I’m sure he’ll be here soon, your honour. I can call-” You didn’t have a chance to finish what you were saying when the door burst open and a very sweaty-looking Yoongi appeared to be standing there. While he was dressed smartly it didn’t match the rest of him, his hair was a mess and far too long for him, he had a beard growing and not to mention there were bags under his eyes letting you know he hadn’t been sleeping yet again. A pang of guilt took over you as you saw him, you knew you shouldn’t care that he was like this but you couldn’t help it. You still loved Yoongi with every part of your body and nothing was ever going to change that for you, even if you were getting a divorce.
“I’m sorry your honour, I was running late because of my alarm and then traffic was bad so I got out and ran here,” You stared at Yoongi as he spoke to the judge but only looked in your direction, his eyes never leaving you while your heart raced against your chest. It felt as though you’d just finished running here and not the other way around, Yoongi's mouth ran dry as soon as he saw you standing there. He'd been getting texts from Chan for the last two months with updates about you, he wanted to know how you were doing and if you were truly okay with this divorce and while Chan told him you seemed fine you never were.
It was always going to be hard letting go of someone you'd loved for so long and if truth be told, you didn't even want to go through with all of this.
“Sit down and we will proceed.” The judge motioned for him to take a seat opposite you but Yoongi didn’t move an inch, he just stared at you and shook his head. If this was really going to be the last time he would get to see you he needed to get his feelings out onto the table and stop avoiding them.
“Can I have a moment with her?” He questioned, glancing in the direction of the judge and back to Yoongi. It was as though he was scared you would disappear if he looked away for too long.
“A moment?” The judge asked, arching an eyebrow at the two of you while you slowly looked away from Yoongi, trying not to let yourself get too caught up in him, Chan leant forward on his chair to check on you.
“You okay?” He whispered as Yoongi continued to ask for some time with you, his voice shaking a lot as you nodded your head at Chan. He knew you'd been wanting to avoid being alone with Yoongi for a while but now Yoongi was here and he wanted to be alone you wanted the exact same thing.
“Fine, you should go and let the boys know you’ll be late,” You whispered to him, letting him leave the room along with the judge and lawyers that had been waiting for Yoongi to arrive. Everyone had been on time for this except for him but Yoongi didn’t even care. It was all true about him being late and the reason. The alarm hadn’t woken him up because, for the first time in months, he’d finally gotten the sleep he had been desperately needing.
“Yn,” He breathed out, sitting beside you and placing his hands on top of yours, enjoying the way a spark went through both of you. It might have been two months since he’d gotten to speak to you or even be in the same room as you but every feeling he had for you was still there.
“Yoongi, you show up late and you kick them out? What’s going on with you?” Your eyebrows knitted together as you drank him in, shaking your head as you got a closer look at him. The need to be closer to him was eating you up inside, the need to be near him and be held by him eating you away one bit at a time.
“I need you to come back, don’t sign the papers,” Your heart practically stopped beating inside of your chest. This whole thing had been his idea, the divorce was his idea to get and now he was asking you this.
“What?” Your voice cracked, barely able to hold up the question as you stared at him, your eyes scanning over his face for any sign that this was some kind of sick joke from him. Or maybe this was all a nightmare and you hadn't even woken up yet to get to the solicitor's office.
“Don’t sign the papers, don’t…please..please just don’t,” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing, there was a pleading tone in his voice as he begged for you not to do this. For weeks now he'd been wondering how he was going to get you out of doing this, to come back to him after he'd been the one to push you away but all of this time apart confirmed one thing in his mind.
There was no way on this planet, or another...or even in another universe that he was ever going to be able to live without you.
“You don’t know what you’re saying Yoongi,” You murmured, sliding your hands out from him but he was quick to grab them and hold them against his chest, looking deep into your eyes as he searched for any sign that you still loved him.
“I do, I need you…Okay? I was an idiot to go through all of this and I realise that now,” He pleaded with you, his voice breaking with each word that he spoke.
“You don’t need me to remember, you said it yourself.” You tried to take your hands back but he wasn’t allowing them to budge no matter how hard you tried.
“I was an idiot Yn, please.” You shook your head at him, tears beginning to stream down your cheeks as you stated at him, this was all too little to late. Maybe if he'd come to you a few weeks ago this could have been different but you were about to sign the final papers, the final goodbye to one another.
“We’re about to sign the final papers,” You stared down at the papers on the table in front of you, everything had been agreed to between you and the lawyers. Janet had even said it was the easiest divorce she'd ever had to bare witness to.
“And I am begging you not to, I’ll do anything,” he whispered to you, your eyes staring back at him as you tried to sense if any of this was real if he even meant what he was saying. You couldn't go back to the way it was before, watching him ruin his body for the sake of work.
“Yoongi…” You trailed off, your hand slowly being released from his grasp as you ran it over his cheek, sighing when you watched him leaning into your touch and enjoying the way it felt to have you close. This was all yoongi had been thinking about for months, he’d done nothing but miss you from the moment he willingly let you walk out of his office.
“I should have chased after you that day,” He told you as you stared at him, your breathing getting caught in your throat as you watched him.
“You should have,” you laughed weakly, you’d wanted him to come after you and tell you he took everything he said back that day but he never did. He never showed up, not even back at the house when you were there.
“You never came back to tell me you didn’t mean it,” You whispered, your eyes screwed tightly shut as you shook your head.
“You didn’t come back either,” Yoongi shuffled closer to you, running his thumb under your eyes to stop the tears from falling but it only caused them to fall faster.
“Because I was exhausted and upset Yoongi. It was our anniversary,” your voice cracked and he nodded his head, he knew he'd done wrong and that it was going to take a lot more than a simple "I'm sorry" to fix everything that happened between you but he was going to give it his all.
“I fucked up badly, and I know there’s no coming back from it but I want to try and move on from it. I don’t want to lose you,” you stared at him as he pleaded with you, a small knock coming from the door.
“Not everything can be fixed with a simple apology” You moved away from him and shook your head, using the sleeve of your blazer to wipe under your eyes and shake your head at him.
“So then we work on things, every day. We go to counselling, we get help and we work through this together,” You stared at him again and swallowed the lump in your throat, the knocking on the door getting louder, you had no double that it was probably Chan wanting to know what was going on.
“Let's try it again…if you want to?” Yoongi suggested as he stared at you, you wanted to, you wanted to do everything to make it work with Yoongi again so you nodded your head.
“Let's do it,” You whispered as he smiled brightly, staring at you before wrapping you in a tight embrace, your shoulders relaxed completely as you started to cry into his shoulder. After all this time it still felt incredible to be with him.
“Shall I let the judge know?” chan chuckled from the doorway as you nodded and sniffled, rubbing your eyes as you let yourself relax in Yoongi's arms.
“You’re late, you’re late for a very important date,” Yoongi teased as you rushed into the room and panted heavily, traffic had been a nightmare getting here and your boss had managed to make you stay later than anticipated.
“Makes a change, it’s normally you,” You smirked at him, dropping down onto the sofa beside him and laying your head down on his shoulder and trying to catch your breath.
“Shh,” He whines, tickling your sides and pulling you closer to him. The two of you were here for your monthly session with your couples therapist, who was discharging you from their service as of today. It had been a rough nine months that the two of you were going through but every single second had been worth it now that you were making your marriage work with one another,
“Love you,” You giggled, leaning up to kiss his cheek quickly before the door opened and you were both ready for your last session together.

christmas with oitnb women
(outside of prison)
includes: ouija, zirconia and taystee
word count: 1k
a/n: consider this a late christmas present ;) enjoy and happy new years guys ❤️, reader is fem / gender neutral
Ouija
she's actually somewhat of a Grinch
around Christmas time, she's just in a bad mood, not feeling very festive
but if you really like this holiday, she'll try her best to get in the Christmas mood
I can imagine her wanting to decorate the Christmas tree in darker colors or not wanting a Christmas tree at all
tries to convince you not to put up too much decorations bc if she sees another santa figure or tacky baby jesus crib, she swears she will lose her shit
will probably be really into mistletoes bc that just gives her an excuse to make out with you
she will do her impressions for you on Christmas Day, since you love them so much
one of those people who goes shopping for Christmas presents last minute
doesn't want to admit it but gets Christmas stressed pretty easily but not bc she wants christmas to be like perfect but bc everyone is making such a big fuss out of it and constantly asks her whether she's in the ✨mood✨ yet and if she still needs to buy a Christmas tree and whether she's bought presents yet...
don't go ice skating with her bc this girl has no balance at all and will basically cling to you the whole time you're on the ice
also, spending time with her son miguel!!
I can imagine it being hard for her to get custody of him back after being in prison and committing WIC fraud
But if you do succeed you'll probably both make this the best Christmas you can for him and spoiling him with presents <3
also the Christmas season would probably be a lot about her winning her son's trust back (since he saw that video of her being aggressive to the guards taken hostage during the riot and the poor boy is probably traumatized)
probably isn't the most emotional around Christmas time and doesn't really care about the reflective / contemplative aspect of Christmas
just wants you and her son to have a fun time
will threaten any christmas carolers that knock on your door and if they dare sing their bullshit jingle bells, best believe hands will be thrown
she thinks the grinch is the most hilarious movie
also, will get aggressive whenever she sees a fake Santa trying to lure her son into sitting on his lap
probably thinks dude is a pedophile targeting him
so she isn't the best at giving gifts so her Christmas present to you will probably be something like a coupon
also REFUSES to go to church on Christmas bc she just isn't religious and also doesn't want her son to be
one of those ppl who would and will eat fast food on Christmas and do something like going to a trampoline park or theme park
Zirconia
this girl is HYPED for Christmas!
and when I say HYPED I mean she's already going Christmas shopping on the first of december, decorating your living space all christmas-y, baking cookies (which she burns, oopsies) and forcing you to wear Christmas sweaters
If you live in a village and have a house, she will probably get in a petty competition with the neighbors over who decorates their house the best
she will go all out and buy inflatable santas, colorful and flashy fairy lights, garlands
bc ain’t no way is she going to let this asshole of a neighbor win this competition
will probably make it into a newspaper bc of her over-the-top, completely exaggerated decorations on your house
you will probably wake up in the middle of the night bc the lights that she brought were too bright or bc you found out that one of the inflatable reindeers she bought can actually sing Christmas songs
like ouija, she will love mistletoes
and probably also the fake santas at the Christmas market
will also probably believe that dude is real
best believe she will watch all of those cheesy christmas Hallmark movies with you and still be surprised when Janet and Hunter get together at the end
also complaining about the lack of wlw representation in those movies!!
loves all the Christmas treats and definitely has a sweet tooth
Anyway she's so excited for Christmas and just wants to have loads of fun with you! ❤️
Taystee
kind of like Zirconia, Christmas would be fun with her but also very emotional
it would remind her of all the christmases she had spent with Vee, in a foster family or the christmases in Litchfield
she would be in a very melancholic mood and reminisce about her childhood
I can imagine she would love jazzy Christmas music
just something that she could dance to
would love to invite some of your friends for Christmas (maybe some prison friends like Janae, Alison..)
she’d love to rekindle with them and would probably be very emotional when seeing them again
mourning the loss of poussey would also be a thing she’d want to do at Christmas, maybe lighting a candle for her or putting up a picture of her in your home
she's super open about trying your Christmas traditions since she's not really keen on implementing the traditions that Vee did with them when she was young
so she'd definitely be super happy to try some traditional food from your country for Christmas or anything like that
she's the best at gift giving and is super thoughtful
like Zirconia, she will also watch cheesy Christmas movies with you (remember she used to like watching this little girl beauty pageant series when she was younger which is also not that high quality tv but don't tell her that)
will just want a normal & relaxed christmas where she can feel safe and loved
will absolutely go to church with you if that's what you want but if you're not religious she will also not mind staying home & just chilling
she would love to go on a drive with you and look at all the pretty Christmas lights while drinking hot chocolate
if you have an old lady living next to you who is spending Christmas alone she would definitely be the type to invite her over so she wouldn’t have to be by herself
definitely the person who gets the meaning of Christmas (giving back and such)
around Christmas time she’d also want to help the less fortunate (assuming you two are more fortunate rn) like donating clothes you don't need anymore, helping out at the homeless shelter
and she's just the kindest to everyone around, even your grumpy ass neighbor who hates Christmas bc that's just who she is
merry christmas everybody and a happy new year!

brutim where tim and bruce are the same age!
tim's parents were both from different oil tycoon families, leaving tim alone for everything but the minimum 42 days, or a month and some change. They were never there for his birthday.
and they never would be. his parents passed away in a jet ski incident. coincidentally the same week bruce wayne's parents did. they were neighbors and while alfred got custody easily over bruce- tim's family were bemoaning amongst themselves who would have to take an 14 yo boy that no one wanted.
his maid did. Mrs. Mac was deemed capable and able and as such the Drake family manor remained in tim's possession.
tim drake is a curious teen and no matter what anyone says he does know something strange is going on in the wayne manor. that kid's a total recluse and anytime he's seen out, he winds up in the gotham gazette for overturning another bad person in his staff.
drake ent. was going the same route, however tim was having his spokesperson make the moves.
a few years later, tim drake received an invitation addressed to him from bruce wayne. both seventeen he figured it couldn't hurt to be seen with someone who was making strides in the business world.
a lunch at some upscale place, he arrived five minutes late do to a shoot out on the main road from bristol to the restaurant. the place was empty with just one table set up for him and bruce.
"bruce wayne, thank you for the invitation. there was no need to have the whole place emptied just for me." tim stated coyly - he hated when janet drakes teachings worked.
"this was happenstance truly. My dear Drake, i have a proposal." bruce begins, pulling an envelope out of his suit jacket. "get married to me. i don't have any negative things to hide. i just need to be married to get people off of me."
"nothing to hide except -" tim stops himself. he can't reveal the whole batman thing. not here and especially not on his own ground. he coughs and back tracks. "what if i have something to hide?"
bruce raises an eyebrow and lets out a sly smile. "i assure you, you don't i would know. please view the terms and get back with me."
and really just like that, tim and mrs. mac are (not completely) packing up drake manor and moving into the wayne manor- which looks like a castle if you ask tim.
mrs. mac and alfred become close as one does when they raise children such as tim drake and bruce wayne.
except one night tim stumbles upon the cave. its below the manor and tim is positive this is all the proof he needs thats bruce is batman. he takes as many photos as he can before scurrying back up the stairs.
bruce finds out but they never talk about that day or bruces night job. they won't not until dick grayson is adopted and first spends a few nights as robin.
-
the scene goes a little something like this;
tim rushing down the stairs as he calls out for dick, his hair mussed and he's in his nighttime clothes. fear has taken over every inch of him.
alfred, ever the calm man, attempts to placate tim, telling him what they are doing. tim of course, the worried m(ilf)om demands the communication device if only to rip into bruce for allowing a barely ten year old boy to go out. he demands dick come home this instance because every ten minutes he's out is a day of grounding.
bruce and dick return, dick pleading and bruce fuming.
/if tim repeats this night with each robin only to get the best fuck of his life well that's just between us. /
-
i have so many more thoughts on this ! let me know if u want moree

The overly-convoluted, self-indulgent, au where Tim has an evil stepmother that lives in my head goes something like this:
While Jack is in his coma, none other shows up than, uhhh need a name, Morgan, Janet's estranged half-sister and Tim's aunt shows up.
She's like 'It sucks that Janet and I never got over our issues, but now that she's dead I want to get more involved with her family' and stuff like that
Tim thinks that's cool and his mom never mentioned having a sister, but that was probably because of all the travel, and also the estrangement. When Jack wakes up, he also thinks it's cool. (And also doesn't remember Janet having a sister, but his memory's fuzzy because of the coma, so...)
Morgan is not actually Janet's sister. She is in fact a Sorceress who is the head of Gotham's magic mafia or whatever and she somehow became aware that Tim was Robin (maybe through magic)
Since Tim is Robin, of Batman and Robin, and has sucessfully integrated himself into the mythology of Gotham, he can be used a conduit to tap into the magical power of the city. Which is why Morgan wants to have control over him in the first place.
Then there's Knightfall and Jack's kidnapped and Tim's spending more time with his Aunt. He notices that he's tired more often and also loosing time some, but he figures it's due to stress.
(He doesn't notice the way that Morgan makes it easy for him to slip away and be Robin. The way she pretends not to notice any injuries and believe any lies. He just thinks he's good at keeping secrets. She doesn't want him to stop. He's no good to her if he's not Robin.)
When things go back to normal, Tim doesn't really notice that he keeps staying more exhausted. He's used to it.
insert whump here with all sorts of fun side effects that come from being used as a magic battery for organized magic crime
Tim falling asleep in class, not remembering what he always does on his nights off. He goes on a stakeout with Dick and falls asleep during it. etc etc
When Jack announces that he and Morgan are going to get married, Tim thinks it's a little weird because that's his aunt, but it's not like they're related biologically or anything and Janet's dead so. Also, it could be worse. He likes Morgan well enough.
(Why is his evil stepmother also his evil aunt? Because I felt like it.)
And then, oh I don't know, some time later, there's an accident and Jack dies. (Not identity crisis. Tim doesn't get his identity leaked in this AU)
Morgan gets custody because she's the obvious choice. They're related twice over. Jack left her custody in the will.
Now that she has complete control over Robin, things get worse. She can be more blatant in her use of him. The side-effects increase and Tim and everyone else can just blame it on grief.
And then, uhh, stuff happens. The Bats stumble upon it. Tim has a freakout because how long has this been going on? And he never noticed?
Bruce adopts Tim happy ending.
#tim drake#my au ideas#then because it's me and this also a vauge au with a bunch of different variations in my head#there's also the version where Huntress notices something's up#carthago delenda est#dc#bats + birds + affiliated

Hey I absolute love your baby damian au and all the Talia Bruce custody shenanigan potential so thank you for introducing that into the world.
I have a niche question tho. Cause in that au, Tim side loses all plot relevance and doesn’t become Robin. And it made me think. What happens to a Tim that doesn’t become Robin? Or actually, what happens to Jack and Janet Drake???
My opinion is that they probs both die in Haiti because the only reason Jack survived was because Batman comes to save them and I don’t think Batman would’ve gone to rescue the Drakes without Tim looking sad at him in the cave. Like not in a callous way but like. They’re not in Gotham. And in the comic itself Bruce is already preoccupied with the money spider stuff. (So much so that he fully like interrupts mid-sentence his comforting of Tim to go hacker fight ms lol). And then I assume Tim gets to live out his sad boy arc without bats or even a fake uncle to adopt him.
But like what do you think would happen? I’m trying to collect the opinions of fandom creators who have actually read comics but no worries if this is a question you have no interest in. Tbf it’s got very little relevance to the au anymore.
Anyways love your art - thank you again for sharing it with the world!
Ive actually talked about this before and see I do actually disagree on the jack dying bc while I know obviously tim wouldn't be there to make Bruce focus on it I still think he'd go save them since Bruce has solved crimes outside of Gotham before and the drakes are famous gothamites so I can still see Bruce being compelled to go and save them - so yeah I do think Jack would still survive and go into a coma and tim probably wouldn't be effected much - jack would wake up 6 months later remarry and life would go on as normal - jack wouldn't even die later on consider he was only targeted bc he was related to Robin and if tims not Robin he's fine - so yeah then I can see one of two things happening either tim still trys to become a hero later on (17 to 19ish) but he doesn't have that bat training so he's more in the way then anything or he just has a normal life
#ask#anon#i can also actually see him getting introduced when bruce dies#which would make him around 16 to 17#like still comes in with his#bruce waynes not dead and im gonna prove it#tho how hed survive everything that happens during red robin without training#he may die before he can find bruce#but yeah i also think its cute#to think about tim as like a side character in another characters story#like a jimmy owlson or lois lane type character#no powers no hero training#but still there to help

I've just been ping-ponging back and forth between Stranger Things and Batfam obsessions so here's a very self indulgent combination.
Au where Steve Harrington is Jack Drake's slightly older first cousin. They were close until Steve's parents disowned him and then reconnected sporadically when Jack was a young adult, but when Steve and Eddie got married, Janet severed ties claiming she thought Steve and his loser rockstar husband would be a bad influence on Tim. Jack reconciles with him when he wakes up from his coma, and asks Steve to take care of Tim if anything happens to him(Jack). When Jack is killed Steve and Eddie become Tim's guardians.
Rough Timeline.
1966 - Eddie is born
1967- Steve Harrington is born
1974- Jack Drake is born
1980- Bruce Wayne is born
1982- Clark Kent is adopted by the Kents
1983-6 -ST seasons 1-4
1987 - Upsidedown Closes for the last time + the Wayne's are killed in front of their son.
1990- Dick Grayson is Born
1995- Jason is born
1996- Cass is born
1999 - Tim is born/the Batman starts his stuff
2001 - Flying Graysons/first Superman sightings
2004 - the Justice League is formed, Boston legalizes gay marriage.
2005 - steddie marriage. Janet Drake throws a hissy fit and Jack and Steve stop speaking.
2007- Dick Quits Robin, Damian is born, andJason becomes Robin
2010- Jason Dies
2011- Tim becomes Robin
2013- Janet dies, Jack is in a coma
2014 - Jack wakes up. Wants to reconnect with his family (including Steve and Eddie), titans tower ™️
2015 - Damian arrives, Jack finds out. Steph is Robin and "dies"
2016 - Jack dies and Steve and Eddie get custody of Tim. Kon and Bart die temporarily.
Tim is going thru it and also suddenly has two VERY attentive guardians who have been dealing with weird bullshit longer than even Batman. They find out about Robin and lecture Batman and insist that if Tim's gonna pull a Dustin then Steve gets to babysit (be on comms).
Steve insists he's too old to be a vigilante but he is on comms all the time and on more than one occasion busts into a scene hitting goons with the batmobile and rescuing Bruce and Tim. He also basically forcefully adopts Jason after he finds out about titans tower. Eddie just laughs, but Jason used to be a big fan of Eddie's band so he is automatically the cool dad.
Somewhere in here Steve and Eddie kind of adopt Dick, Damian, Cass and Steph
Barbara and Max meet and it's Chaos.
Bruce tries to complain that Steve and Eddie are stealing his kids and Eddie's like. Alfred do you want some coparents? We'll adopt a full grown man. We've got kids older than Bruce that we consider to be ours. And Alfred is like. I'd love the help. He's a handful.
Anyway when Bruce "dies" and Tim's like. He's not dead! Steve is like. Yeah. I've seen weirder. Let me call supergirl- not Kara. My supergirl. Eleven. Yeah. You remember her right? She might be able to find him with her mind powers. No she's not a meta. She's had powers since before metas were a thing.
And El finds him and with her help the Justice League can get Bruce back pretty quickly. They offer her a position and she's like. I'm retired. But I'll always help a friend in need, so keep my number.
Anyways the ST crew are all adults and Tired because they thought when the justice league came around they'd be done. But Steve just keeps acquiring children who insist on getting themselves in trouble so even though he is fifty and Tired with chronic migraines and tinnitus he is still going to be the Best Damn Babysitter there is, and none of his friends/kids will let him do it alone.
Steve managed to keep it all from them before he needed to ask El for help but once the dam breaks they're all in and out of Gotham and meeting the Justice League and causing trouble left and right.
Lucas and Will both try to keep out of it and maintain their quiet lives but end up becoming emotional support/therapists/mentors to young heroes.
Dustin somehow gets to do some work on the Watchtower.
Erica, despite being in her early 40s, is trying to get the Teen Titans to unionize.
Nancy has access to guns she really really shouldn't.
Jonathan and Clark get along really well. Argyle can somehow understand the Flashes when they're talking at almost full speed.
And when Robin (Buckley not Batman-and-) meets Wonder Woman she cries.
#strange things#batman#tim drake#steve harrington#steddie#eddie munson#steddie are tim's guardians#jack drake and steve harrington are cousins#Jack Drake#Steddie adopt the whole batfam#Steve Harrington is a good babysitter#best damn babysitter#yet another Batman crossover#stranger things

Bat Brat Age & Role Shuffle AU:
Once upon a time there was a young Gothamite who went to the circus to see the Flying Graysons, a pair of acrobats of world acclaim. The mafias hadn’t started paying attention to Haly’s as a potential squeeze in the protection racket yet, so absolutely nothing went wrong.
Several years later Jack and Janet Drake get divorced, but that’s unrelated.
Also unrelated, Bruce Wayne eventually debuts as Batman. Not too long after that, Crystal Brown overdoses while Stephanie is at school and Cluemaster is busy with two-bit supervillainy.
Blaming both herself and Arthur for not being there, Spoiler sets out to kill her abusive dad, running into Batman along the way. They get along as well as you’d expect two people who are similar in all the worst ways, but Bruce can’t stop Stephanie despite her being, like, ten. He’s new at the vigilante thing and she saw his face (there may have been a brick involved), so they have a mutually assured destruction thing going on.
Spoiler bargains to only beat up Cluemaster, not kill, if Batman teaches her to be the best possible crime fighter ever. He agrees. Once Arthur is in jail, Bruce steps up to officially foster Stephanie.
Spoiler keeps flying at Batman’s side, continuing her extensive training. They both lean into the Brooding Loner theme, so Stephanie is only an associate of the Teen Titans, not a full member. They make her feel awkward, and her intense Bat-training makes them feel judged.
Meanwhile, Tim Drake started college at about the same time most people start High School, having gone super hard on academics to drown out his parents’ fighting before their divorce. A big fan of both the Flying Graysons and Batman, he takes the plunge on maybe not actually being he by handcrafting a costume for her Original Herosona Do-Not-Steal, Batgirl! to attend a convention.
Tim being an overachiever, and also a Gothamite who’s lived this long, the costume is fully functional for crime fighting, which comes in handy when a Rogue crashes the con.
Stephanie is younger and Tim a less experienced crime fighter, so Spoiler and Batgirl butt heads a lot once Batgirl starts flying through the night, but they’re always down to team up to dunk on Batman (Tim loses some of the hero worship once actually doing the hero job).
Tim has to pretend to be a perfect heterosexual cisgender young man for her parents by day (or at least for Jack, Tim’s more hopeful about Janet) and so uses Batgirl time as a chance to experiment and as an outlet for a lot of things. She flirts with Batman all the time, which makes Spoiler mime barfing because ew that’s her dadmentor, gross.
Spoiler is even more obnoxious when Bruce flirts with Catwoman and gets along even worse than canon!Dick does with Talia.
Bruce and Stephanie’s too-similar personality clashes get worse the older and more confident Stephanie gets, culminating in an explosive fight when she turns eighteen and ages out of the foster system. She spends a few weeks living with Arthur (out on parole again) out of spite, and then hightails it to New York to prove she can be a team player and join the Titans for real.
Sick of the extreme uptick in brooding, Alfred badgers Bruce to get the fuck out of the manor for something other than crime and tormenting the Wayne enterprises Board of Directors.
Bruce goes to Haly’s Circus.
You can guess how that ends.
It doesn’t even occur to Tim that twelve year old acrobatics prodigy Dickie Grayson wouldn’t stay with Haly’s Circus, surely John and Mary had some kind of preferential guardianship documentation. So while Tim is now done with her LIS degree, has a job, and presumably could be an eligible foster parent, Bruce already has custody by the time Batgirl encounters Robin in the field.
Batgirl makes sure Tony Zucco’s entire organization comes crumbling down while Batman and Robin deal with the man himself.
Stephanie finds out about Batman’s new sidekick from Tim instead of Bruce and reacts…
Badly.
Canon!Stephanie has some pretty damn strong jealousy issues. She hasn’t even been gone two months yet and Bruce already has a new partner? A new kid? Who does Bruce think he is, replacing her like that? Who does the kid think he is, stealing her dadmentor?
God, and he’s so much peppier than she is, in a brighter costume, Spoiler could always make Batman smile but Robin makes him laugh. He’s got the murdered parents thing in common with Bruce too, parents who never did any crime, unlike hers. This isn’t fair.
Tim thinks Stephanie needs to get over herself and not be a jerk to the kid on the rare occasion she visits Gotham, if she can’t handle being nice. Stephanie accuses Tim of being a kiss-ass to Batman, says Tim must be so thrilled to finally be the more experienced crime fighter for once, and oh, isn’t it a dream come true to work with one of the famous Flying Graysons? Tim throws a book at her head.
Two or three years later, when Tim has already been going out in the field less frequently, doing more casework from the computer, considering retiring Batgirl and working up the nerve to come out as a woman in her civilian life, her parents arrive earlier than they’re supposed to for dinner just as she’s getting back from patrol. In costume.
There’s a lot of shouting. Accusations. Assumptions. Hurtful things said. Some supportive things said, too. Jack blames Janet for Tim “dressing in drag to run around with lunatics!” Janet blames Jack for Tim never talking to them about all this. It doesn’t help that Tim got a small laceration on her temple which is bleeding like a motherfucker when she comes through the window; their baby could have been killed!
Eventually everyone calms down; Tim agrees to put her vigilante work on hold while they all attend family counseling (which she’s tried to get them to do before). Jack admits Grandpa Charlie would be proud of Tim’s heroism. Janet asks what name Tim prefers to be called, and starts listing notable women from ancient history when Tim admits ‘Batgirl’ is the only girl name she’s chosen so far.
Unfortunately, just a few weeks later, the Joker and his henchmen break into a Drake Industries medical manufacturing facility to steal something while Jack is there, on the day Tim came to meet her dad for lunch.
Tim takes a bullet to the spine, instead of Jack taking it to the gut.
While Tim is in the hospital, fifteen year old Dick Grayson is dealing with complicated feelings about family. The Gotham socialite sphere and media keeps gossiping about his status as a foster kid; Bruce’s first still had a living father, a criminal, of course she was in the system, but Richard is an orphan, why hasn’t Bruce adopted him? None of them think to ask Dick how he feels about that; his father is John Grayson, he doesn’t want a new dad…
But he would like more reassurance than he’s getting that Bruce wants him around as himself, not just a crime fighting partner.
Bruce is not good at other people’s feelings; his attempts to not impinge on the Graysons’ memory or make Dick feel pressured about adoption come across poorly.
Then Dick gets a letter from someone claiming to be his half-sister. Since when has he had a half-sister? Is this for real? Does he really have more family out there?
Melinda doesn’t betray Dick, but they both still end up dead at the Joker’s hands in a warehouse on the other side of the world anyway.
Stephanie was in space when it happened. She misses the funeral. It sits hollowly in her chest; she was never there for the kid, never acted as a big sister, now he’s dead and she missed the fucking funeral.
She never wanted a little brother. But she had one anyway. And now he’s dead.
Spoiler gets nearly as self-destructive as Batman.
A few months later the Gotham police commissioner’s thirteen year old daughter Barbara Gordon knocks on the door of Stephanie Brown’s apartment in New York, demanding she come back and pull Batman’s head out of his butt.
“He’s come close to killing people,” Babs says severely, photos taken with a ‘borrowed’ crime scene camera documenting Batman’s self-and-others destructive spiral spread out on the coffee table. “He wasn’t like this when working with the Spoiler.”
Along with the photos, there’s a methodically constructed timeline of Batman’s crime fighting partners lining up with Bruce Wayne’s fostering history. The extreme prejudice Spoiler uses whenever Cluemaster gets out of jail and the similarities between Robin and the Flying Graysons’ costumes is noted in the margins.
“Trust me, kid, if I could pull B’s head out of his ass, I would,” Stephanie says, sarcasm covering up her nerves at their secret identities being blown. “Now why are you here, instead of showing all this to Daddy?”
Babs rolls her eyes. “Because Dad would have to arrest him.” There is an implied duh.
“Well, then, you should be familiar with dads not doing what we want.”
Stephanie drives Babs back to Gotham because she’s thirteen and traveled all the way to New York by herself. Stephanie may be a bit paranoid about kids traveling alone right now.
Alfred compliments Babs’ detective work and makes her cocoa. Bruce reads the margins of the timeline and remembers trying to get Dickie into a subtler costume; the grief and guilt make him say unkind things to Babs. This does not sway her from the conviction that Batman needs a partner again.
Some more unkind words and an altercation with a Rogue later, Babs is that partner.
“The hell are you even gonna call yourself?” Stephanie asks, visiting while Babs is in training. Babs lives with her dad. Bruce isn’t fostering her. Stephanie is gonna be this kid’s big sister anyway. She’s gonna do it right this time, dammit.
“Sparrow,” Babs says. “I thought…” For the first time Stephanie’s ever heard, Barbara Gordon sounds less than 100% confident. “A songbird, in Robin’s honor. And ‘Sparrow’ starts with the same letters as ‘Spoiler’ so it’s...it’s after both of you.”
Stephanie is going to blame the Batcave training mats stench for how her eyes water. “Good name. Dickie’d like it.” She never knew him well enough to know that, but what can it hurt to say?
(On Halloween, the ripples of Superboy Prime’s punch reach back in time, righting what should never have gone so wrong, and Dick Grayson crawls out of his own grave. Unfortunately for everyone, Deathstroke is the first to find him.)
Tim is busy with physical therapy, family counseling, her library job, her new vigilante idea, and getting her name legally changed to Timothea Jacqueline Drake. She doesn’t find out about Sparrow until Babs is back from her misadventures in Paris and Hong Kong with Lady Shiva, and takes down King Snake’s gang at the docks.
Batman’s very first message from Oracle is IF YOU DON’T DO RIGHT BY THE NEW KID I’M STEALING HER TO BE THE NEXT BATGIRL.
Meanwhile, young teenager Jason Todd is stealing tires to pay for his mom’s medicine while his dad is in jail again. Two-Face, Willis’s most recent boss, won’t even bother to pay for his arrested henchmen’s bail, let alone lawyers, and the Gotham court appointed ones are a crapshoot.
Willis never wanted Jason doing crime, but Jason never wanted his dad doing it either, so tough fucking shit all around. Before getting arrested, Willis shared just enough information about his henching gigs to keep Jason away from them. Don’t go to that part of town tonight, avoid the docks next week, never buy anything from Scarecrow’s ex-goons even if they’re working for someone else now.
So when Jason sees the Batmobile just fucking sitting in Crime Alley, he steals two tires and leaves a note on the dashboard with everything he knows about Two-Face’s latest plans.
The snarling photo of that coin-flipping fucker’s arrest in the papers two days later is the most satisfying thing Jason’s seen in his life. It doesn’t get him his dad back, but it sure feels damn good.
So maybe Jason listens in harder on other Rogues’ henchmen and mafia goons chatting with each other in bars and trying to impress the working girls with how much they know, and maybe when the Batmobile shows up a few blocks away from Crime Alley, it loses another couple tires and gets an even longer note.
The third time Jason does it, a hand lands on his shoulder and a voice says “Dude—” from behind him; he swings out with his tire iron, clocking Sparrow in the face.
“Oh, shit,” Jason says, stumbling back. He just whacked Batman’s sidekick! Everyone knows Batman is super fucking protective after the second one died! Oh shit, he is so fucked.
“Dude, ow,” Sparrow says, hand to her jaw. “Nice reflexes, but ow.”
“No shit, nice reflexes,” Jason says. “This is Gotham. Do people just love being snuck up on wherever you’re from?”
“I’m from Gotham too, jerk,” Sparrow says.
“Don’t sound like it,” Jason points out. She has an accent. It’s subtle, but there. Guessing by how her eyes widen, not many people notice. “What do you want?”
“Uh, for you to not steal my boss’s tires?” Sparrow says. She rubs her jaw. “Like, we appreciate the tips, but could you leave the Batmobile in one piece?”
“You can afford to replace them,” Jason says, rolling his eyes. “I gotta eat.”
“Is that so.” Sparrow narrows the lenses of her mask. It’s freaky. She reaches for her belt; Jason jumps back, raising the tire iron higher. Sparrow huffs. “Chill. I’m giving you stool pigeon money. It’s not as much as the tires cost, but it’s better than nothing.”
Jason eyes the money when she holds it out. He doesn’t like thinking of myself as a snitch; this is revenge, it’s getting back at the fuckers who won’t help their own people out. But he does need the money, and what is he gonna do, fight Sparrow for the tires?
“Fine.” Jason snatches the cash out of Sparrow’s hand, eyeing the numbers in the corners quickly before hiding it in his hoodie. “I gotta worry about the big bad Bat coming after me for fucking up your face?”
“Oh, god, no, it’s embarrassing enough a civilian got a hit on me, I’m not telling him it was a teenager.”
She’s definitely a teenager too, but Jason decides discretion is the better part of valor and keeps his mouth shut.
Within a week, the Todds qualify for a health insurance plan Jason’s never heard of before. A pilot program by the Martha Wayne Foundation.
Next time, instead of jacking tires, Jason asks Sparrow to teach him how to use those nifty grappling hooks in exchange for information on a Mr. Freeze scheme.
~
Leaving off here because there are a LOT of moving parts to figure out for the ensuing canon plotlines, and how they'd change. Also, if any other teams ages and roles outside Gotham have been shuffled around too, or if they're all as per canon.

Champions in Hunger Games AU: Wasp
"Nadia is my late husband's daughter." Janet beseeched the judge sent in from the Capital, "I will take her in and provide for her."
"But she was born and raised in the Capital. Wouldn't she prefer that over the Districts, even one as developed as District 1?" He turned to look at the charge in question.
Nadia kept her eyes glued to the ground. The less she had to speak, the better.
They conferred some. Janet made a comment about how the Capital was too good to allow a child to be shuffled into the foster system when she had a family willing to take her in.
That one made Nadia laugh. She wouldn't be going to the foster system. If they cared even slightly more about this, she would already be back in the Science Class.
And that was why she couldn't allow them to care more.
"Well, she has a record for excellent behavior, and at this age, she can't have any important information about the workings of the Capital. You haven't smuggled anything out, have you?" He chose that moment to joke.
Nadia hunched her shoulders and shook jet head.
Would the Pym Particles have shown up in her bloodwork if they didn't know to look for them?
Finally, the judge sighed, "I grant you custody."
Janet turned around and smiled at Nadia soon-to-be van Dyne, making joy course through her even as a part of her insisted it was too easy.
--
"Nadia van Dyne!"
Of course it was too easy.
She huddled inside the Justice Building and cursed herself out because of course it was too easy. How could she believe that she had fooled them? That she was safe just because her step-mother's creations were beloved by the Capital folks?
Two months in District 1, and she was heading right back.
"They're trying to kill me." She whispered to Janet, "They can't have me, so they're trying to kill me."
She should've seen this coming the second they revealed that volunteering as Tributes was not going to be allowed for District 1 this year, under the pretense of wanting the selected ones to get a shot at glory instead of the ones shouting the loudest.
"Shh, honey, no." Janet held her close, her hand stroking the thin chain of Nadia's locket lab, "You're going to be okay."
Nadia doubted it.
[So the idea for Nadia is that she's the daughter of Hank Pym, who's a scientist in Disctrict One, and a Capital woman. And at birth she was taken into the Red Room, part of their in-Capital military program, from where she was shuffled into the Science Class and tasked with recreating Pym's shrink tech. Except she used that to secretly inform Janet of her existence, and since Nadia seemed to be useless at both fighting and research, and this very famous woman was asking for the kid, they were like, fuck it take her. Except that's what Nadia THOUGHT]
