The promotional one-shot tied in with Radio Shack's TRS-80's personal computers was released with a cover date of July 1980. The issue introduced the TRS-80's Whiz Kids (Shanna and Alec) and Margaret Wilson. The issue was written by Cary Bates and pencelled by Jim Starlin. In the issue, Superman was hampered by synthetic Green Kryptonite, so it was up to school children and their TRS-80 computer to save the day. ("The Computers that Saved Metropolis!", Superman One-Shot, DC Comic, Event)

I have this headcanon that Billy ages slowly right? Born like 100 years ago and still a child bla bla bla-
Anywas-that is kinda just a base for many diferent concepts I come up for Billy. One of them being the "Whiz Kid Conspericy"tm
Basically it gose like this. Whiz kid is a special thing the station dose every few year at the turn of every new decade. The character of a child reporter is played by many diffrent little boy's through out the years all playing the character of "Billy", each one lasting for a few years before leaving for his birthday party and coming back a few years later replaced by a new kid and now one year older and a persona shift to match the new decade claming "I got a new style on my break". The catch? Its actually just Billy pretending to be a new person everytime.
Sure, some people know like Mr. Sterling and maybe a reporter or two, but no one else knows its the same kid. Which leads to a lot of conspiricy theorys about who the actors where or how the station picks their kids or hiw rye heck the kids look so similar. This end up being one of the things that bring Billy the most joy and pain, cause everyone knows of his exsistance with it being so ingrained into Fawcetts culture, but Its also super fun for him to disapear and come back as a new person every decade. Sure fhere where a few times where the station was handed over to a new owner and they tried to make the "Whiz Kid brand" more active with merch and dirty profiting schems, but and adult Cissie and Billy managed to take care of that quickly.
This idea works best if the people of Fawcett aged normally but if you want, you can also just imagien half of the city is in on it while the other have no clue.
Its even funnier imagening the JL's reaction to what Billy has been doing for almost a centry.
Batman: let me get this straight, you convince multiple generations of people you where different people playing the same character?
Billy: It Was Funny!
Superman a.k.a Clark the reporter:...Yk, I used to listen to your radio segments back in the 80's
Billy a.k.a the teenager emberrassed about past works: Nooooooo, the 80's was such a bad time! My mircophone was horrible and my script was terrible
Superman: But it was so good!
Thank you for indulging my bullshit, I might draw Billy during the diffrent decades or maybe a time line later.

Whiz Kid Billy Batson goes to Gotham to get an interview from the Waynes…
Only to shove all of them out of the way and start talking with this random blonde teenager???
And- is that Greek? Since when could Whiz Kid speak Greek? Are the teen’s eyes glowing? What is happening???
Guys I do badly want Billy and Bernard to interact it’s not even funny.
You cannot tell me that Billy, The God’s Champion, Batson and Bernard, nearly became a human vessel for Dionysus, Dowd, wouldn’t feel a kinship with one another over their weird relationships with the Greek Pantheon
Also also also also, I really want Bernard and Freddie to share theories they used to believe in about superhero’s. Tim could also join in with his past stalkerish tendencies, it would be like family bonding, but for autistic boys with troubled home lives.
Honestly I just want any fic where either Bernard or Billy interact with either eachother or other DC characters with relations to Gods or Cults

You know, Captain Marvel may have been warned to stay out of politics, but Billy "not threatened by gods" Batson wasn't. I think the little dude would rant about corrupt politicians as Whiz Kid on Whiz Radio and not get punished for it because who's going to tell off a kid? Anything Captain Marvel can't say, Billy will yell into a mic!
Oh for sure!
Billy has opinions and he's going to let people know about them! He was given a microphone and an audience and by the gods he's going to use them! Captain Marvel has to play nice with the local politicians but Billy doesn't! And he has always been more politically aware than most kids his age.
(A certain golden age comic of Billy trying to use Captain Marvel to commit voter fraud because he was too young to vote but was highly invested in local politics comes to mind)
I can see Mr Morris telling him to document evidence and cite his sources when he gets heated just to avoid people suing WHIZ radio for slander and keep up his journalistic intergrity, but the second Billy has the smallest shred of proof, Mr Morris sits back and eagerly listens to Billy tear into whatever corrupt official has caught his eye.

It’s jarring to read a story about a neighbor calling the police on a nine-year-old Black girl spraying for invasive lanternflies, describing the girl to a dispatcher as a “little Black woman walking, spraying stuff”, and then switch over to another tab with a story on the 30-year old “crypto kid” who might’ve just made an oopsie with billions of dollars of customer funds. On one hand, literal children are portrayed in the media as adults, and treated as such in the prison system; on the other, a man who’s been old enough to vote for over a decade is being described as “a young man in need of both defense and a friend” offering refreshments to a reporter “as if we were there for a playdate”.

Lan Sizhui wanting to get birthday/holiday gifts for the other juniors and even though he could just ask Lan Wangji or Wei Wuxian for money (which WWX would definitely encourage because he probably already has LWJ’s wallet on him anyway 💀), LSZ refuses every time because he’d rather earn and spend his own money.
But gifts are still expensive so instead of buying them, he finds out what all of his friends would like as a gift and because he loves to learn, he figures out how to make/craft the gifts himself.
It always ends up being just as much of a gift for him to see his friends’ faces light up and marvel at how everything he made looks professional because he worked so hard to give them the very best he could offer.

Listen to mama here
I might have talked a few times about Billy and his radio show on Whiz Radio before, but I had another idea pop up
Y'all know that one about Billy, secretly Whiz Kid, radio show host beloved by the Justice League for his views on heroism and opinions? Well, what if one day, while he's doing just another regular radio show segment talking about, idk, villains and the levels of redemption possible, and the other heroes are listening in wherever they are. At home, on a flight, in the car, etc. They're just enjoying hearing this kid talk about really profound matters with maturity and respect, honest to good soulful journalism.
Then, out of the blue, a villain crashes through the building of Whiz Radio and holds all of the employees hostage on live air. The whole encounter is heard by the heroes and Billy is made to report on the event as it happens, trying to be brave and holding back the urge to knock out this bozo ruining his show. The villain makes Billy plead for help on the radio, asking for an insane ransom in order to set the hostages and Whiz Kid free.
The internet goes nuts. The heroes are furious. This was Whiz Kid! One of the best kids around, and a darling of Fawcett city whose voice reached thousands. Everyone expected Captain Marvel to come right away to their rescue, to save Whiz Kid and teach this bad guy a lesson. Maybe this would give Captain Marvel a reason to finally be on the show to be interviewed! More listeners listened in to the channel by the second, waiting for what was to happen next.
Only...Captain Marvel never shows up. It's his city to protect, but for some reason Captain Marvel isn't anywhere to be seen or heard?? What the hell???! Is he seriously ignoring Whiz Kid?!?
Billy can feel his JL communicator buzzing like crazy. The other heroes are trying to get into contact with him because they all love Whiz Kid, but little do they know that Captain Marvel wasn't going to be there to save the day....Billy Batson was going to have to save the day
He had no idea how he was going to do it, but he felt the courage of Achilles burn inside of him to stand up for himself and the other employees.
One by one, Billy takes calls live on the radio show from all over the country, and even one from space?! Oh wow. An anonymous caller from Gothom, a reporter from Metropolis, a forensic scientist from Central City, and some ginger in space (Billy didn't like having to acknowledge Guy Gardner). All these callers found a way to help Billy take down the bad guy with hints and hidden advice, and by the end of the night, Billy was hailed a hero for essentially, "Home Alone-ing" the bad guy through the Whiz Radio building. The bad guy was begging to be arrested at that point.
That episode saw the rate of listeners go sky high! Earning Billy a bonus and many other heroes stopping by to congratulate him for doing such a good job!
However, Billy has a tough time explaining to the League as Captain Marvel as to why he couldn't save Whiz Kid, being thoroughly interrogated by his coworkers on the matter of time management and etc.
