Lan Sizhui wanting to get birthday/holiday gifts for the other juniors and even though he could just ask Lan Wangji or Wei Wuxian for money (which WWX would definitely encourage because he probably already has LWJ’s wallet on him anyway 💀), LSZ refuses every time because he’d rather earn and spend his own money.

But gifts are still expensive so instead of buying them, he finds out what all of his friends would like as a gift and because he loves to learn, he figures out how to make/craft the gifts himself.

It always ends up being just as much of a gift for him to see his friends’ faces light up and marvel at how everything he made looks professional because he worked so hard to give them the very best he could offer.

It completely and utterly baffles my mind how anyone can write a Sizhui-centric fic and have him break away from the Lan clan because he cannot handle the Lans being involved in the Wens death.... and have him be friends with JC.

Sizhui is GRATEFUL to Jiang Wanyin because he knows that he and WWX have 'issues' but JC has 'never involved him' in their dispute and is able to 'separate his feelings' and treat Sizhui well.

The entire fic is Sizhui being ANGRY and breaking away and connecting with his Wen Side. It's him being unable to bear the injustice of what was done to his family by these 'righteous cultivators'. It's him being selected as the next (probable) Lan Clan Leader and refusing it because he can't bear to be part of the clan that killed his family, and the author makes him have a 'personal correspondence' with JC who he likes and the author has completely forgotten who planned and led the Siege in the first place. Has completely forgotten the entirety of JC's character in every possible way. literally saying at the end 'jiujiu is the best.'

Is this ignorance? Bad Comprehension? or just straight up stupidity. I am so lost.

I was also so tempted to just ask the author in the comments what they were thinking. like not a hate comment or anything but genuinely, how can a person possibly think this.

Honestly consider yourself lucky & privileged that you don't understand the workings of such a mind and attempt to unknow the knowledge of that fic lol. Seriously my memory has gotten so much worse since being in this fandom bc there's always some new atrocity I'm focused on forgetting. But they can only think the way an asshole like jc would think. jc would be capable of throwing a shit fit and blaming the Lans and siding with trash NOT Sizhui. Look at Wen Ning. Does he blame LWJ? Does he hate the Lans?Not to mention I wouldn't put it past jc to pro & con hurting a Wen vs the effect hurting LSZ might have on his relationship w the Lan Clan (if he found out LSZ was a Wen). At best he'd throw a fit. He certainly wouldn't welcome him in Lotus Pier.
