You babify Curly way too much

I don't consider it babyifying more realizing the situation these characters were in and understanding the complexity of their choices. I always mention that Curly should've done more but the solutions people give aren't realistic at best or ignoring the plots and themes entirely at worse.

A lot of takes do act as if Curly wasn't guilty at all but I try to talk about the parallel of that tragedy between Jimmy, Curly and Anya, the difference between good intentions and ignorance along with trying to explain view points of characters we don't get. I don't think Curly did anything in his inaction about Anya out of malicious intent but inaction and misguided intent. It's how he parallels Jimmy who was genuinely menacing and tormenting her.

I don't know why people act like Curly should be punished further in the story. The game centers around his torture and dehumanization at the hands of Jimmy so he finally understands what Anya went through and couldn't escape. I don't strip him of the wrongs for enabling Jimmy and not protecting Anya but I do explore the deeper reason in his thinking and he's not characterized as intentional malicious, but just too focused on the wrong aspects.

I just dont understand making something so grey black and white when it comes to Curly's effectiveness as a friend/protector to Anya and a friend/enabler to Jimmy, but people tend to forget the form part of that statement.

hi i just discovered your beautiful art so i obviously needed to scroll down your whole blog to catch up on everything you posted haha

i just wanted to say that i got way too emotional after reading that post of yours regarding mw3 and your mental health… on one hand i’m so sorry that you felt that way, but on the other i feel it with my whole heart

ghoap content especially for me helped me these past few months with my mental health in ways i would never have expected, it was my solace and inspiration, i started working out too and got back into drawing, got a lot better at it as well!

but unfortunately i get way too fixated on fictional stuff and there comes a time that my brain switches up and connects the things i liked and comforted me with things that make me extremely uncomfortable and stressed out, especially if i fall down a fandom rabbit hole that i would never have searched up, beacuse i know myself, i know my limits and triggers but i feel like i’m not a part of the fandom if i don’t like and interact with every single headcanon, art and ship

these past days i was really down because of that, and the things i read (why did i do that???) and now when i think of ghoap i think of that stuff and im scared that i alienated myself from the one thing that made me happy

Always feel free to ramble my way!!! How nice you could find some comfort in my art and ghoap stuff. Especially in my mw3 post. I've been considering deleting it a few times, but hearing it maybe helped to read in some way makes me happy I left it up.

I get where you're coming from - I very much use these fictional characters as a safe space, but ppl view them very differently. There's room for it all, "don't like, don't interact" is very much a policy I agree with. It's important to mute words and be aware of your own triggers as you browse stuff in this fandom, because there's such a wide variety of stuff out there. You do NOT have to interact and agree with every thought people have on this ship, that's impossible and super stressful. There's plenty of stuff and headcanons I don't vibe with. There are no 'requirements' that you have to meet in order to enjoy fiction.

It's part of why I enjoy ghoap - that their dynamic resonates and has sparked so much creativity and outlets for so many - but it also means there's gonna be a lot of stuff u don't necessarily agree with or feel comfortable with. For example, a lot of folks use the MCD in mw3 as a way to explore grief, which I think is really cool, but on a bad day that could potentially get my brain in a bad headspace, so I only check out that art and those fics when I feel okay. There's also a bunch of stuff I'd never want to interact with, and that’s fine !!

I'm personally quite vanilla and a sucker for exploring the softer, more domestic aspects of these characters. It's what brings me joy. I know there are parts of this fandom who don’t vibe with what I make at all, and would call it untrue to the characters. Some creators enjoy exploring the more violent or toxic sides to the source material. That's just how it is, we all need different things from fiction. As long as we're capable of chilling in our respective sandboxes, then all's good.

But if you're like me, and enjoy the softer things, then definitely be aware and careful while exploring this ship and fandom. I've seen takes on these characters that are so far removed from how I view them, that they're basically the complete opposite, and it can leave a very bad taste, especially if you're the type to hinge your safe space on fiction.

Just... be mindful of yourself and your potential triggers, be respectful and don't interact with things that make you uncomfortable to the point of feeling unsafe. Shape your own online experience to your best ability.

Do you think any future movies will show why there’s a warp pipe in the Brooklyn sewers? Given how Mario and Luigi only found it after crashing through a wall and Mario’s “Looks like nobody's been down here for years.” line, it could be possible that humans in the past have intentionally tried to cover up its existence.

As interesting as that would be, I wouldn't bet on it being explained any time soon. There is so much ground to cover in the Mario universe as is, so I don't see them investing time in that particular mystery it’s not important to the overall story (not right now at least).

The writers seem intent on leaving as much lore to imagination as possible, like how they dropped the loaded fact that Peach and Bowser had been sworn enemies for years before Bowser developed a crush on her. The "how" and "why" of their longstanding feud is left so vague that all I can do is theorize.

But who knows, I might be putting my foot in my mouth further down the line. Perhaps the reason Brooklyn's warp pipe was hidden is connected to Peach's mysterious origin story? We can only wait and see.

Why did Gary growl and cover Efnisien's face/mouth when he said the safeword? Was he angry and trying to stop Efnisien from saying it so he could continue? If yes how did he manage to pull himself back from the brink of doing something unforgivable?

I think Gary was so uncoordinated in that moment, he wasn't thinking 'I need to shut you up' but there was definitely an instinct of: 'How dare someone tell me to stop.'

There was a visceral war with himself when he growls vs. when he places his hand on Efnisien's face, almost like he's trying to feel his breathing and his voice. It's a very quick motion, and while Efnisien assumes it's to shut him up, I actually think Gary was literally very out of it in that moment and was kind of bracing himself to even understand what happened.

Like, this is a guy who didn't respond to a lot of basic language and sentences for three days, or when he did, mostly could only do so in basic sentences or even single words. So while the peak alpha grokked the 'how dare you' pause, I think it was like a 'wait is an alpha trying to stop me from taking what is mine' level of confusion. He places his hands on Efnisien's face, almost like he's trying to find where the words came from, in my mind. Like someone who is blind who is trying to find a fan switch in a new place. They don't quite know where it is, but they know it's important in hot weather.

He then does hear more of Efnisien's voice (in the form of a distressed shriek) and immediately stops.

I really don't think this is as clean as 'he was fully aware, heard something he didn't want to hear, and made a choice to make sure Efnisien couldn't safeword again.' I don't even think he knew at the time what he heard, or how to understand it, only that he heard it and that he had to stop.

Tbh Gary has the safeword to literally stop himself from doing the unforgiveable. And he does it with an immense amount of willpower that almost no human will ever really comprehend. Dude was barely even conscious at the time. Just like Efnisien spent many hours in a heavily dissociated receptive headspace, Gary does the same but from a more dominating peak alpha side. Literally just ruled by hormones in a very primitive way.

I'd say he's one of the only peak alphas in the world who can actually listen to a safeword at all in that state. I don't even think Temsen could.

i don't think the trial story is tasteless; it's reality. i was there for the whole herd-depp fiasco. this is how people are. i think anon is conflating characters in a story with the person writing lmao.

i think anon comes with a point that i'd definitely thought about before, but i think the way I'm personally going about it vs the way it could be explored/meme'd/sensationalised/scandalised are quite different. I don't really want to talk about this too much or knock that anon down for what they were saying, so I probably won't post much more about it unless it's some genuine criticism or thoughts on the trial posts themselves!!

Thanks. ❤️ I think some people take my ship posts after drama or bad races to mean that I’m making light of situations or that I don’t truly care for these guys, turning their pain into fodder for fics. But I promise it’s the opposite - writing about how these two deal with the aftermath of races helps me process my own feelings and my heartbreak. I really love them (to the extent someone who doesn’t personally know them can) or else I wouldn’t be able to write about them. And I think (I hope) that if people who feel the way I described about shipping read my fics, they would see just how much I care about the people I’m writing about and the emotions and pain they’re working through.

I see the point being made about feeling like it’s not the time to post about shipping after a situation like on Sunday, but for myself, I generally prefer to keep things light on this blog rather than dump all my emotions on here (and potentially make more and more people spiral into negativity). I work through most of my feelings on my own and with the community I’ve found that I trust, not through posts on this blog. It’s a different way of dealing with drama, but it doesn’t make it less valid.

Anyway, sorry to hijack your ask to dump all of these thoughts! (And right after I said I don’t usually dump my feelings on my blog smh.) I just thought I’d take the opportunity since I think there’s a lot of misguided impressions of people who ship charlos floating around, especially now…

I wanted to make this post cuz a lot of you were so "CoNcERnEd" about me and the allegations made by the anons. And well in case people wanna find "info". I kinda don't care if people wanna keep attacking me and shit but yk. I have to speak up and explain.

So I wanna start by saying that what I did last Thursday and Friday was very retarded and dumb of me and I highly apologize once again. ‘bucktommy shippers are moving to ody3. awful news for the fandom when they decide avery’s getting in the way of their fated m/m ship’ …as if buddie shippers aren’t the ones who have displayed disgusting behaviour towards both buck and eddie’s past female love interests, not to mention the aggressiveness and violence they displayed against buck’s male love interest. I don’t think bucktommy shippers are going to be the problem here.

I have been vocal about both BuckTommy and Buddie shippers acting an ass, actually, so this isn’t the gotcha you think it is. I mean, I’ve argued plenty with people about how the actress who played Marisol being questionably awful didn’t mean she deserved to be treated the way she was. Particularly when Ryan Gúzman kept his job in the show, despite his actions as well.

However, BT are right now currently claiming 9-1-1 and Oliver are biphobic, claiming the show sacrificed God tier queer rep (ignoring Henren), and calling for Oliver to be fired all because a side character who has a racist and misogynistic past, played by an actor with the same, ended his run on the show.

This ain’t about ships, it’s about the people who love LFJ for literally no reason other than portraying a gay character in a minor role, leaping to the next queer ship they can find as some sort of cancellation prize.

That said, a large many of BT shippers claim to have been Buddies, so you’re talking about the same group of people. You can’t separate former Buddies from current Buddies just because you want to defend BT fans. The same folks who were harassing actresses left and right in “defense” of Buddie going canon, are some of the same people who jumped ship to support BT, and are now the same people “defending” LFJ.

They are telling a man to “finish the job” in reference to his suicide attempt, because they didn’t want the FICTIONAL CHARACTER he plays on tv to ruin their ship. They accuse Buddies of demanding fan service, yet are petitioning to have Tommy reinstated in the show, and demanding Tim Minear listen. They are accusing the cast of being bullies because LFJ didn’t get a tear jerking send off.

Yes, the way women are treated across the board in fandoms spaces is awful, and should continue to be called out. Which it is, but to act as if BT shippers aren’t and haven’t been awful people this entire time as well, is straight up bullshit, and no other fandom needs that energy. Ok so we know you love Benny (rightfully so, I mean look at the man) but do you have any thoughts on the other Chairmen? Swank and Tommy specifically?

I have so many thoughts on the Vegas families but even more on the Chairmen just because of how unique their position is.

Like to start off, I have mentioned and still fully believe the Chairmen are the most paranoid and distrusting of all of the Vegas families. You can get sucked into many personal dramas and plights when it comes to the other Vegas Families; Quest-lines that get you super involved with their inner workings and pasts, ergo, quest-lines like Beyond the Beef and How Little We Know. Other than the very little side quest we get from Tommy, where you don’t even out in a good word for the Aces Theater for the talent recruits, your very boxed out with the Chairmen.

While the other families are more curious and intrigued by the NCR and Legion tensions rising, House being killed and other things, the Chairmen are always paranoid, concerned and negative. They mention wanting to leave like in the old days but can’t drop the act. They don’t mention anything that isn’t in a way that relates back to them and it tells how little they wish to or do interact with those outside the family. Swank mentions how he doesn’t trust the other families and the sentiments are shared with Tommy who discourages you from seeing the other sights. They are probably not purposely isolating themselves but they keep to their own. I only think this is extrapolated by House favoring Benny as a successor and possibly more restrictions on them. They were the first family and likely the prototype of whatever is detailed in their contracts. House was not as lenient as he is now, taking Swank referring to House’s rules into account.

Specifically about Tommy and Swank is interesting. Tommy feels like he’s older to me, not like more mature but he’s been around to see how far the Boot-Riders changed into the Chairmen. He’s not like an old guy either but older than Swank and Benny. I like to think he’s a middle ground to Swank and Benny, where Benny is the idealist, Swank is the nihilist and he’s there realist. You gotta real with people when you work in entertainment. He has a keen eye and can tell when things aren’t right but doesn’t jump out of his lane, not without provocation that is. In relation to Benny, I think Tommy’s like a snide older brother type guy. He rips on Benny cause the guy is so obsessed with not being seen as a tribal anymore but Tommy of all people can see when someone is playing too much into a bit. Benny keeps him close cause he keeps him real.

Swank is described in universe by House as being dependable but unimaginative. I don’t think that’s fully the case but he isn’t the person to push things in my eyes either. He has complaints but he does what he’s asked of and is loyal. More of a “Are you sure” Man than a “Yes” Man. I don’t think he sees the best in the people around him but prefers to see them as static. I take this with how hard it is to convince him that Benny is a traitor and how he seems shocked you are so ready to kill him. Things run a certain why and it’s why he likes that. It’s why he’s so good a managing The Tops. He wants things to run smooth and easy and everyone to be having a time. He’s the type to struggle with a shift in change at first but then forget why when the new song and dance start to come naturally. He plays the part just like Benny but also reminds him of what they came from. He’s his most trusted advisor and friend keeps him in focus.

This is all personal opinion and just a quick run down of it. But I hope I answered at least some of what you asked:p

pikase being a rarepair baffles me specifically because of the memesquad, idk why but at least on my time on that side of the fandom some years ago it was always super hard to find any pikase stuff which always confused me since they're both In The Deam Memesquad. PERFECTLY good gay couple in there guys. why does no one see the vision. i vividly remember this one time i was like 13 reading a crack ask fic on wattpad and the only time pikase was even hinted at it was played off as a complete Joke and it made me so upset lmao

i only have around 40 followers here but it makes me so happy to see so many people that share my love for this ship, the rarepairness of it always made me feel so alone, back when i only used twitter there was 1 artist that Sometimes posted pikase stuff and that was all i had, genuenly i am willing to bet that im currently one of the only active pikase artist out there lmao, i say this in my bio but i made this blog to just get me to draw them more and be more shameless about MY FUCKING OTP and i genuenly never expected to see more than like 5 people on my notes, even if someone just silently likes and reblogs a drawing with no comment attached it still always makes me so warm inside even, ive gotten at least 2 people saying "OH MY GOD AN ACTIVE PIKASE BLOG" on my notes and i share the sentiment deeply. hell yeah. theres more of us out there >:D

On the topic of "never trust a fandom that says something is gay" I get disappointed every time seeing people gush over a female character who gets sexual with another woman only to find out (after reading a synopsis) that there's still somehow a man involved OR this chararacter later goes back to her husband to continue living her heterosexual life. Why are these people not mad that in the end of the day relationship a character had with a woman means nothing?

Don't wanna name a fandom and in general I loved the show but this attitude bothers me.

I hate this too. Honestly, I think the reason that people aren’t mad is because the majority of fandomers are OSA women. Straight women are obviously going to be happy if a het relationship is endgoal, and if they’re LGB allies they can feel good about themselves for hyping up a same sex romance while still having the assurance that they’re rewarded with hettery at the end.

And while you’d hope that bi women would feel differently because they’re SSA…I think a lot of them enjoy and even want stories like this because they think “bi woman that ends up with a man” is an underrepresented storyline that needs justice. The only times I see bi women get annoyed by storylines like you described, is either when they’re febfems or SSA leaning. I assume that the rest (and majority) of them are OSA leaning and will happily take a story where the same-sex romance is a fun little moment in time and the opposite-sex romance is the endgoal. In other words, representation of same-sex love isn’t really a necessity to them, it’s just a fun thing that’s nice to have sometimes.

To be very clear, I’m not saying all bi women are like this. I know there are bi women that get annoyed by stories like this and that are interested in lesbian stories. I’m just saying that because bi women are OSA, they’re obviously going to feel represented by stories about OSA. And because lesbians aren’t, we’re obviously going to get annoyed when we’re promised a Gay Story only for some straight romance to ruin it. It’s just different groups having different priorities, and that’s fine. Just annoying for lesbians lol because we have to accept that we’re in the minority of people who actually want to see lesbian stories, not just straight and bi ones.

I’ve gotten a few anons since I started doing my rereads (which is weird because I’ve done them before, it was just on my other account that many if not most of the same people interact with) but to be clear: I am anti no one of the acotar series. I genuinely like all of them though some more than others but like…guys, pls. they’re not real people ily but you don’t have to defend their honor in my inbox.
