Stares off into the distance:
So.
Apparently my brain is just going to run along with various crossovers. Today, I bring you the thought of a John Wick fusion au (actually five differnet ones) with Batman/DC. (Again: a reminder that all my DC/Batman knowledge is fandom based)
@north-peach hellllppppp
Couple of thoughts for this.
The First: Janet Drake is one of the underworld's best. She's fantastic at manipulation and killing. She could walk herself out of a situation covered in blood, and convince people who saw it all happen that she never touched the body.
Tim grows up at her knee. He learns for the very best. And Janet teaches him everything she can- because despite the job and the crazy hours, and the travel, she loves her son. She wants to give him every opportunity to make it out alive from anything. Unharmed and not in trouble if possible, but alive most of all.
John Wick is a ghost story to the underworld. Tim has always been curious about people who could cause such a stir as his mother or John Wick might. When he meets him, he decides that man is Friend Shaped despite every sign saying Do Not. Despite every horror story saying it's a bad plan. (Much as he will later look at a story in a city of a cryptid said to be a manifestation of a city, a demon, a physical representation of all those who have died unavenged and decide the same)
More than that- John has ZERO idea how to handle Tim. He's a k i d. John's not gonna kill him for just...showing up all the time. It's not like he interferes or causes problems. In fact, he helps sometimes. Provides info, or a direction, a place to crash-
Tim confuses John.
Tim is also the very first to congratulate him, when he manages to get out of the underworld for Helen and mean it. To not even question the 'impossibility' of the Baba Yaga deciding he was done. John didn't bother to ask how Tim knew he'd left and why before the news actually broke out.
Tim watching John get out, go for it and SUCCEED is what gives him the courage to confess to his mother that he wanted to spend some time outside of the underworld, watching the curious case of Batman and Gotham. And Janet loves her son. So she arranges for it to be so.
They both know who Bruce Wayne is. Janet had figured it out before even Tim. She makes him promise that, if he needs her, he will call her, and lets him hunker in Gotham while he does what he wishes. She makes some trips back to Gotham, of course, but not so many that enemies can figure out there's someone important to her there. Janet is THE Femme Fatale. She has plenty of people who would go after her boy. And she's not having that.
Tim doesn't actually PLAN to get involved in vigilante life. At all. He's underworld born and bred. He's a survivor, manipulative, and can be a level of cunning and cold and ambitious that always makes his mother so so proud. He's not a do-right kind of person. He's not someone who does things for people outside of "me and mine" without a reason. Or if it goes against his moral code.
Except Jason Todd becomes one of "Me and Mine". He's a friend. A nosy vigilante who sees that his friend is alone and sets off his instincts as dangerous yes, but also as 'not a civilian' in a conventional sense. He's not a street rat, but he's not...normal either. And Tim? Tim, once he decides this Robin is his Robin, well he can't very well leave him undefended doing this ALONE can he? Though he understands by working with Robin, he cant use the tried and true methods of murder, as it could get pinned to Robin or Batman and he can't have that. If he wants to fly with Jason, he needs to fly by his rules. So a new vigilante is born that runs the streets with Robin. A little more vicious but in a cold and precise manner. Exacting. He doesn't let Jason go after his mother without doing the information gathering, and stops his death by Joker.
For a time, Tim finds himself pulled into the Wayne family, and he...thrives with them. He's happy. He learns under them. Expands his skillset, and still sent out to learn from people around the world. He is NOT fool enough to turn that away- his mother would somehow KNOW wherever she was if he turned down that kind of opportunity and he did not want to imagine the disappointment and response. NO THANK YOU.
When the underworld is kicked like a hornets' nest by John Wick coming back into the fold, Tim is...curious. He's kept an eye on John and Helen, if not stayed in direct and constant contact with them. He hadn't expected John to step foot back into the underworld.
And then his mother sends word to him, calls him back to the Continental, warns that the underworld is getting REALLY kicked up as a result. Tim...needs to go. He cannot imagine NOT answering his mother.
He arranges things on the Gotham end. Says temporary goodbyes and gets to the NY branch asap. Beats his mother there.
Makes it just in time to see John Wick pull a gun on Continental Grounds and shoot a newly crowned seat at the Table and is caught up in the chaos.
His family are going to end UP in the chaos themselves, because they will not cannot leave Tim in it alone. The connections Tim has are MUCH a surprise, he's done very well in hiding exactly what he used to do, and WHY he has a contact and hand in everything, and can ALWAYS get his family what they need. The Second: Tim Drake still grows up at Janet's knee. He learns it all. Thrives in it all. He ends up NOT going down the road of hitman or assassin or any number of things he could have done. Instead Tim Drake chooses to be a Information Broker that claims Gotham eventually, and by means of getting taken in by Bruce, the Wayne Manor and grounds around it become neutral grounds much like the Continental, if you want Tim's services to remain open to you. If you pull the underworld onto the ground...well. Just because Tim goes by Bruce's rules, and just because he PREFERS the route of nonviolence does not in any way mean he would not kill to protect it. To prove a point. To make a statement. To allow one to get away with it is to allow danger to his family and he WILL NOT, no matter that they all are perfectly capable of defending themselves. The Underworld is entirely different than their villains. To not kill the offender is to open themselves to weakness and targets. So Tim WILL.
Gotham is not Wayne Manor. The City is fair game to the underworld. Wayne Manor is NOT.
The Third:
Janet raises her boy at her knee still. Tim chooses the route of Doctor instead. He sets up in Gotham, and decides he likes the foolish vigilantes enough to step in when it's needed and save their lives. He becomes known to the Batfam as a Doc that will not ask questions, but is absolutely one of the most capable people they've seen. If Leslie isn't available, or not close enough, they go to Tim, if Tim doesn't find them, because he certainly seems to know when they need it.
The Batfam does sometimes find him having dealt with Some Things underworld involved so they are WORRIED about their idiot, despite the fact that Tim can and will Wreck everyone that causes problems in his area. He has also shown up stripping off blood covered scrub tops or whatever cause hes coming in hot from another healing thing, and they all wonder and worry and just- it's fine. Everything is fine.
They worry anyway.
Despite the fact that Tim has friends seemingly everywhere, from all walks of life, favors all over, and connections to seemingly everything as a result of his work. (He has absolutely been offered favors as payment, hits, assassinations and all sorts of things. He never turns them away. Janet taught him better. Instead he has markers and logs, books and written promises all stacked away. He remembers them all of course, but better to have written proof somewhere, something official. The Continental holds it for him.
The Fourth:
Gotham HAS a Continental Hotel due to all of its.....everything. Janet Drake runs it. Tim knows EVERYONE and everything, and has absolutely run the counter often. Bruce doesn't know what it is. Ra's absolutely does. Tim is the next to take over the branch and EVERYONE knows it.
He ends up occasionally, when people step on his morals, providing information to the Bat.
Jason managed to find his way inside by accident, and may or may not get himself heavily involved in the underworld even BEFORE the Red Hood thing.
The Fifth:
Same concept as 4 except BRUCE WAYNE runs the Continental and the ripples of everything therein.

Bug Fables.
It's my current favorite video game, and actually, you can thank it for Linden Roots existing~
I'll explain, but in order to do so I have to dive into spoilers for one of my absolute favorite plots for one of my absolute favorite characters, so I need to slap on a;
MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING!
In my opinion, this game is best experienced SPOILER FREE, so if you haven't played it and want to some day, I recommend skipping my info dump below. (This info can be acquired before beating the main game though. :>)
You're okay with spoilers? Yes? Okay, carry on.
So.
Those who are familiar with Leif's story will probably see how Bug Fables influenced the creation of Linden Roots.
A long while ago, I mentioned Randy being inspired by my favorite fictional character.
That's Leif.
Leif is a moth who is ancient.
And dead.
Loooooong before the game takes place (I can't find an exact timeframe; it's like a generation or two), Leif went with a team of bugs to explore a cave, but ended up dying in there. In that same cave, a group of scientists later experimented on cordyceps. Now, as soon as they became relevant to the story I was HOOKED.
I learned about cordyceps as a kid, and they scared the crap out of me. But it also was one of those morbidly fascinating things I'd look into once in a while. (Before anyone tells me, yes, I know that's what's in The Last of Us.)
If you don't know, IRL cordyceps basically turn bugs into zombies.
Anyway, the scientists were trying to find a way to create eternal life (what else is new lol), and did this through cordyceps. Which, as one could guess when dealing with zombie fungus, ended up going badly for the scientists.
One of the "failed" experimental fungi was thrown out, and found its way to the deceased Leif, and brought him back to life. It took on his memories, and Leif woke up without knowing what happened, until you dig into his story during the game. So the "Leif" we know in the game isn't truly Leif, but is the fungus living as him.
Now... I'm sure that sounds a bit familiar...
This idea of a character being dead-but-not struck a chord with me. It fascinated me to no end.
But there's more to it.
As one might expect, Leif has some tragedy surrounding him.
While playing the game, you can stumble upon his decedents.
Tumblr media
This here is Muze. With a 'z'
This is Leif's great great however-many-greats grand-daughter, who you meet in the game's present day.
When he was alive, he had a wife.
His wife was Muse. With an 's'.
We never get to see what Muse looked like, but he says in-game that Muze is a spitting image of her. Hence why Akoya is dressed as she is in my pic. She's dressed as Muse.
Now, according to the developers, Muse was pregnant when Leif went into the cave where he died.
And he didn't know.
There are several moments in the game that show Leif's potential as a father, but one in particular stood out to me.
(Note for the images; Leif refers to himself as "We/Us".)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oops, I forgot one. Vi finishes by shouting "I said it's not happening!"
The text in the last shot bounces/wiggles in-game, indicating playfulness or joking.
If you're familiar with Goombario and Goombella in the Paper Mario games, this dialogue is this game's version of that. You can have the main characters give flavor text on any area and most characters in the game. (And I recommend doing it often, as it adds SOOO much to the game! ^v^)
This bit takes place in the first room after Kabbu and Vi meet Leif. And at the end of the room, an event happens to change what's said for the rest of the game. Meaning, the only time you see it is RIGHT after they meet; He was getting playful with these two bugs he'd met only moments ago.
I'm sure it can just be seen as sarcasm, but having found this dialogue after learning about Leif missing out on raising a child, I saw it as a clue that he would've been a great dad. And it shattered me. ;w;
Randy and Akoya are wish-fulfillment. They're my version of Leif and Muse. They're my way of giving Leif and Muse what I'm sad they missed out on, while also keeping some of the angst, lol. Thankfully, they've evolved into their own separate characters that I feel I can be proud of, but Leif's story and tragedy still has a deep, well-protected place in my heart.
Anyway, thanks for checking out my ramble. I accept no blame for any potential spoiler you might've seen against your will. XD

Idk if someone has asked you this yet but whatever. You’re probably the biggest Kenlynn shipper I’ve met, so I wanted to ask what your opinions on other ships are? Like Darilynn or Benji? What if one or both becomes canon in season 3?
Omg you've mentionned the two ships I can't stand 😂😂
I've kind of already explained my stance on Dinostar/Darilynn: I was open to the idea of them happening after season 1 aired, but season 2 made me really dislike them, but I think that was intentional on the writers' part. Darius confession was as horrifying to watch as a car crash for both Brooklynn and the audience, and to me it's obvious Brooklynn only ever loved Darius as a best friend. And I think even Darius at the end of the first season realized that his "feelings" for Brooklynn weren't what he thought they were. To me, he simply liked having someone with him so much that he confused that with love, but really he was simply lonely. Also think it would be fifty shades of messed up considering that he's Kenji's adopted brother and witnessed every step of their relationship unfold, like, to me they're brothers (even Kenji reaffirmed that fact) and it will never not be weird to date your brother's ex, especially when your relationship with her was as impactful and lasting as Kenji's relationship with Brooklynn. The only way I can be okay with them becoming canon is if the writers actually commit to it and don't get cold feet. Meaning Kenji better say f*ck you two, it was nice being friends while it lasted but don't ever speak to me again 🤷‍♀️, because there's no way either of their relationships would survive this, and how Kenji feels about Brooklynn doesn't change that. (Also worth mentionning that them managing to make a relationship work with all the guilt Darius carries and his link to Brooklynn's biggest trauma is extremely unrealistic on it's own).
Benji (I'm going to be brutally honest, sorry 😅): Oh boy, oh boy, don't get me started on what is, to me, the biggest mistery of shipping to have ever seen the light of day 😭. I truly don't get why so many people ship them and I never will. One of the storyboarders recently came out and more or less confirmed that the crew was as baffled as I was that the fandom shipped them and I felt so relieved because it was truly baffling to me to see so many people claim that they were set up. To me it was clear that the thought of Benji had never even crossed the writer's minds. I made a post a long time ago, it was at the time of season 4, or 5, on why I *hated* that ship and unfortunately still do, especially with how the fandom reacted to Kenlynn. But since it's been a long time, I can summarize it here, but I'll still post the link because it was much more detailed and my opinion hasn't changed. The fandom went as far as to harrass the creators of the show, invoking a moral issue with the age gap btw Kenji and Brooklynn while most of them shipped Kenji and Ben, which just proves to me that they literally didn't care and only looked for any reason to hate on a ship they disliked. Because while we were given the ages of the campers (not even their birthdays, meaning that we don't know the exact age gaps btw the characters, so for example Ben could be a month older than Brook for all we know), not knowing that info and looking at the first seasons of the show, everyone would guess that Ben is the youngest. He behaves like a kid, especially in the first season, and it's clear that that was what the writers had in mind when they wrote him. He had his mom give Dave and Roxy a list of things that made him unconfortable, he was scared of everything, he drew with colored crayons right as Kenji called it an activity made for children (the way he drew himself tells you everything you need to know about how he perceives himself, aka a little boy), he's the most emotionally immature, and I could go on. His entire story arc was about growing up. And the worst part is that, to me, his immaturity is the most apparent when he's with Kenji. The way he clings onto Kenji everytime he's scared like a kid would cling to one of his parents will never be romantic to me and I find it horrifying when people edit it in a romantic light. Even worse, Kenji is the ONLY camper to make fun of Ben for behaving like a kid, and he does it countless times, almost coming off as a bully at times. The fact is that Kenji viewed Ben as a kid, which made them (as a ship) truly disgusting to me, like, I could never get past it, even with the time jump, sorry if this is harsh 😭. Just imagining Kenji being attracted to Ben in season 1, which is the season where the fandom decided to make them a thing with the infamous gyrosphere pairs, will never not give me the creeps. About them being canon, there's no chance of that happening so I don't really have thoughts on that. There was nothing btw them back in jwcc (as the crew confirmed) and there's still nothing in jwct. They're friends, and I think that's a beautiful thing.
(the link of my initial post 😅)
I'm going to speak about the ships I do like because here I just sound like the biggest hater 😂
Yasammy: While I wasn't the biggest fan of how Sammy didn't respect Yasmina's bondaries, especially in season 1 (my personnality is very similar to Yasmina's and I know I would have despised Sammy for forcing me out of my comfort zone without trying to understand me 😭), their evolution was sweet and the way they care about each other is adorable so I ended up liking them and was happy when they became canon. I especially like them in jwct because I like how...real they are? If that makes sense?
Benrius: I'm not shipping them per say but I really like them, in both shows. I think their personnalities compliment each other and Darius always had that soft spot for Ben, which I think is adorable. Season 3 Benrius is really peak (Darius being the only one to sense that something is wrong with Ben, him going back to look for Ben when he left, their fight...). And of course, jwct season 1.

So, the amazing Calli @callivich came up with this beautiful idea for DVD commentary, fic style, and the amazing questions that go with it. As suggested, I'll be indulging myself while talking about:
Thicker Than Forget. Summary: He blinks at you. “What was your first name?” “Erato.” “Erato,” he repeats. “No need to roll the r.” “Like the muse?” You grin. “Poet, meet muse."
AU. Ian is a poet. Mickey is his recently-corporal muse. They eat an absurd amount of stupidly named ice cream, try to find beauty in things, and fall hopelessly in love.
This was fun! Let me know if you want commentary on any other fics!
Give us some stats - (when you wrote it, word count, how long it took to finish, is it a one-shot/multi-chapter, etc)
So, I wrote this for the Shameless Big Bang in 2021. I couldn’t tell you how long it took me to write (Word is giving me conflicting info), but it was probably my easiest write to date. Word count sits at 30-ish thousand words.
What was the initial inspiration for your story?
It was initially inspired by a novel. I don’t remember which one, but it was either Lament or Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater. The only similarity between that one and mine is that a character falls in love with their muse. The plot itself is very different.
If the story is written from a character’s POV, why did you choose this character?
Mickey. Because it’s almost always Mickey lmao. I did try from Ian’s, but this had to be from the muse’s POV and Mickey had to be the muse.
What was your favourite scene to write?
The smut 👀 if you’ve read it, I hope you understand why lmao
How did you come up with the title?
From the poem, Love is Thicker Than Forget! It fits so well with Ian being a poet and the overall theme of the story.
Are there any little moments or references you hope readers will notice?
I went a little meta on fanfic, fandom, and shipping in this, which was so fun. I think only one person seemed to really notice and mention it, though, haha.
Was there anything you struggled to write? If so, how did you overcome this?
I didn’t struggle to write it, but figuring out how to end it was tough. It took a long time for me to figure that out. When I originally came up with the idea it was for an original story, and did not have a happy ending.
Favourite line in the story?
I’m gonna go with lines, plural, because I have a couple
He kisses you and he kisses you and oh. Oh. This is what they were writing about. All the poets, every word of creativity they took from you … it’s this.
He closes his eyes and continues to sigh sonnets into your skin
Also, the last two lines of dialogue, and, I mean, “Fuck the connection” has to be right up there.
What are you most proud about in the story? (plot, characterisation, dialogue, twist/cliffhanger, etc)
The writing, actually. I’m not a poetic person, none of the poems in the fic are mine, but I’m pretty proud of the poetic nature of the writing.
Are there any ‘behind the scenes’ info you’d like to share - e.g. what’s going on in a characters head in a certain scene or how you came to write a certain line?
So, this is the fic that made me realise I needed to stop taking things so seriously lmao. @captainjowl can attest to the research I tend to do. In this case, every ice cream name was a legit flavour at the time, taken from a Baskin-Robbins website. The mural exists. The flowers and trees in the botanic gardens are flowers and trees found in that exact botanic garden. The hoodie! Taken straight from the Brooklyn Zoo website. The pasta they eat at the North Pond – I used Google Maps to make sure there was an Italian restaurant nearby and looked up ponds in Lincoln Park.
I've since tried to be more chill. Sometimes I fail.
Reading back the story now, is there anything you’d change or add?
I’d make it longer, if possible.
Would you ever write a sequel to this story?
It’s a nice idea, because I’d love to write something pretty again, but I have zero inspiration for it.
Are there any ‘easter eggs’ in your story - e.g. references to other stories you’ve written, a trope you often use etc?
Uh, if you’ve read this and Suncatcher you might notice that I, like Ian and Sandy, have a thing for The Doors.
If you’ve chosen your most popular story, are you surprised by the popularity?
I don’t know if this is my most popular story, but I was definitely surprised by the intensity of the comments I received. It was one time when I knew I’d written something good, but the way it made other people feel definitely took me by surprise.
Anything else you’d like the readers to know about the story?
I love that this was loved. I still go back and read it every now and then and just sigh.

Leona Info Compilation part 5: Ruggie (pt3)
We see Leona employ Ruggie in a variety of roles such as protecting him during Beanfest (for a “daily special” from the cafeteria every day for a week), taking on his assignments during Vargas Camp (for a shopping trip that Ruggie took with Leona’s money) and recruit new students for the spell drive club (for doughnuts).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The task Ruggie dislikes the most might be having to pick up Leona’s room and do laundry, which we hear him complain about fairly often, but Leona pays for washing Ruggie’s clothes along with his own.
Ruggie seems to be uncomfortable with receiving charity—when Silver offers to lend him money, Ruggie refuses—which is possibly why Leona is always having to find roundabout ways to support Ruggie financially.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Ruggie will not accept money unless he feels like he is getting away with something Leona does things like give Ruggie both his wallet and his permission to buy whatever it is he wants in exchange for standing in line at the school store.
If it weren’t for the appearance of a monster that they needed magic in order to fight off, it is likely that Leona had been intending to let Ruggie smuggle a magestone out of the mines to sell, as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a vignette we see Ruggie talking to himself about wishing he could afford to eat more when Leona suddenly appears behind him.
We do not know how much Leona overheard, but when Ruggie says he needs money to buy detergent for washing Leona’s clothes, Leona tosses him his wallet and tell him to take what he needs and keep the change.
Ruggie points that out he has nothing but large bills and Leona responds, “Why’re you getting all hung up on the details?"
Ruggie reflects that Leona probably wouldn’t even notice if he kept more in change than what the detergent costs, saying, “far be it from me to look a gift horse in the mouth, though. Cha-ching!”, seemingly unaware that that is likely Leona’s exact intent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruggie charges Leona “at least ten thaumarks an hour” in exchange for his help during Fairy Gala (we never see Leona haggle with Ruggie to try and underpay him; Leona always goes along with whatever price Ruggie dictates), and Ruggie seems free to refuse tasks he does not like, such as passing on messages to Malleus.
When Jamil comments that serving Leona seems “far more painful” than serving Kalim, Ruggie says that serving Kalim would just make him uncomfortable, and there is “a lid for every pot.”
Ruggie himself explains that while Leona is used to ordering people around and is a demanding boss, he is always giving things to Ruggie for him to sell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leona also helps with Ruggie’s education, as Night Raven College is Ruggie’s first time attending a school.
Ruggie says that Leona tutors him on lessons he does not understand and provides him with reference books and old exams, as well as “tons of useful advice”, directly resulting in a significant increase in Ruggie’s grades from “bottom of the ladder” to “somewhere just below the middle”.
In addition to never arguing with Ruggie about money Leona seems to follow his demands in other areas as well, such as not skipping classes that Ruggie insists he must attend and reluctantly eating vegetables that Ruggie puts on his plate for lunch.
Leona does not seem to like the food at the school cafeteria (calling the steaks “cheap” in Book 6) which makes sense, as he is a prince, and he is one of the strictest judges in Culinary Crucible (on par with Vil), grading meals with a 4 that Ruggie grades as 8.
Tumblr media
However, Ruggie has a voice lines saying, “When it comes to cooking, all I can do it throw together whatever’s on hand, but it seems like Leona doesn’t care as long as it’s edible.”
This seems to insinuate that Leona either just prefers Ruggie’s cooking in particular, or at the very least he refuses to complain about it.

I read (you'll whisper, serpent tongue) what you fear you have become and as usual I have to make it some poor soul's problem.
Hi, it's me and I'm the problem, I know most anyone that follows me is either here for Goyuu or morally questionable shipping content but there's being such a lack of interesting content for me to talk about and paired with my lack of energy, it's been pretty difficult...until I stumbled across this fic in the Goyuu tag here on tumblr. The title gave Hogwarts au and the synopsis gave 'All That's Left of the World' (which if you haven't read go ahead cuz all I remember is that it warmed my heart so much as my first zombie apocalypse bl).
In addition to this intriguing combination it was also rated E for 'Either they fuck nasty or nasty shit happens' so it was definitely up my alley. With all the stars aligned and my interest piqued I went over to ao3, finished it I one sitting and I'd like to say...I'm a slightly different person now. I'll explain but make sure to read for yourself before continuing as there will be spoilers and before you leave to read be aware there is smut...
AND IT'S BOTTOM GOJO 💔
Did that turn some of you off, yeah that's how I felt but trust me the fic is genuinely beautiful and heart-rending, and though I don't give a fuck about what dynamic others choose to enjoy, I DO have a problem with authors not tagging their shit. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE TAG EXISTS AND IS READILY AVAILABLE.
Anyone who knows me from Twitter knows I take my dynamics very seriously in shipping and I, some others, have sort of sense for these kind of things. First set of pictures instantly lit up in my brain from the post I found it through but I brushed them off as reading into too much. The second set went off while I was examining how Yuuji was described and spoken of, especially through Gojo's lens, as it's the exact same way someone would write about a shorter top. I can't explain it but there's definitely a tone to it. I went back up, re-checked the tags, nothing.
No dynamics tags, which isn't as egregious as fake dynamic tags but I still feel very cheated. I know some authors do this, especially when writing for less popular dynamics but even if it's for like a surprise factor or not spoiling, it's still in itself a bit disingenuous. Not only are you making it hard for ppl to filter out what they don't want to read but you're actively making it hard for bottom Gojo enjoyers to find your story in a sea already mostly cluttered with top Gojo.
Nevertheless I'm not here to nitpick shipping dynamics or tagging because I'm aware there are authors who believe caring about dynamics is stupid or unimportant, which no, it's important but that's like another topic in itself. I simply skipped the sex scenes which hurt cuz intimacy in the plot of these kinda stories really gives something extra to the flavor.
If you enjoy multiple dynamics and can or have read it, I'm jealous give me your brain. And if you haven't read and no longer feel the need to cuz you don't want anything to do with bottom Gojo that's fine, to each their own. I definitely know if I'd seen a bottom Gojo tag before I started reading I wouldn't have opened it but I got invested and wanted to see the end.
(side note it is kind of crazy though cuz they tagged everything sex or kink related but not the dynamics which sure whatever, I'll get on with the review on why I enjoyed it now.)
We open up in a world that's the Canon universe but 1000 years later cuz that's when the cube thing chooses to spit out Gojo. I don't know if there's a Canon reason for it being 1000 ýears or if the the author made it up but I'm not that overly excited about jjks magic/power system like the dudebros to care. I'm here for daddy Gojo, Sukuna-oniichan and sweet baby boy Yuuji, make of that info what you will.
Gojo pops out of the box 1000 years later and the world is a mess cuz just like the avatar, he vanished and came back but the difference is everyone's fucking dead and curses are everywhere. Thing is, not everyone is dead.
Yuuji, our most precious boy is still alive and most likely the most powerful being alive thanks to absorbing Sukuna who was killed by Kenny (read to find out, I am not explaining cuz thinking back to it makes me so fucking sad.) There's this one part where Yuuji talks about how it is being without sukuna even tho they hated each other.
Tumblr media
Of the many things I enjoyed about this fic I do have to say it's amazing how raw and and painful the writing is. There's a lovely blend of humor, hurt and emptiness in the conversations that Yuuji and Gojo. Pain, regret, loneliness, fear, it's all there building up to a kind of angst I haven't read and felt in a long time.
Another beautiful thing that's explored is one of the biggest 'what if' in the series. I'm guessing this was probably written before Gojo's kit-kat ad of a death in the manga and tho now, we have leaks Gojo being alive (probably) I read this before the leaks. What if the world had to move on without Gojo Satoru and the curses won??? I think the way this fic answers that is very interesting and unique but so close to canon it's feels strangely believable.
I enjoyed reading Yuuji's rendition of all that happened, tho I got lost a bit but once again, I'm the problem. I do not read jjk so my knowledge is limited to what my lust addled brain retains from the anime and the leaks that happen to pop up on my timeline. I do not know wtf the Angel is or how they are tied to Gojo's unsealing and no I don't want to be spoiled.
I don't remember any fic that's brought me so close to tears before but at the end, when Yuuji tells Gojo to actually kill him this time because he doesn't want to be left alone again when he eventually outlives the other (Yuuji is a curse now btw), I literally wanted to toss my fucking laptop. You start and can't help but expect some for of happy ending or optism now they're reunited but things only seem to get more complicated. Yuuji is still Yuuji but so different, Satoru's guilt weighs heavy and tangible through the screen and though it's short and trust me when you finish you will feel it's way too short, you can't help but feel you've spent the months and centuries beside them.
This is what I hinted when I said it gives ATLW vibes, the joy of discovering hope only to have it dashed as you move on only to find some dim lights fraught with uncertainty later on.
As for the end, I think it's well executed, open ended, sad and a bit nostalgic. I'd like to imagine after a few years together Gojo does kill Yuuji but ends himself immediately after because he can't stand living without him. That or he remains alive to start his own form of punishment for never being there when the world, when Yuuji, needed him most.
This kind of feels to me like the alternate universe that modern Yuuji dreams of in lainebee's reincarnation fic I'll open my eyes. Yes I've caught up, no, I won't be talking about it soon, all I'll say is fuck Naoya in every fucking fic I read, I do not know who this man is but I dread when I'll have to in the anime.
Back on topic tho, I think this is something any Goyuu reader should definitely give a try if they can handle it. I don't have a lot of influence but my post do tend to get out there sometimes so please don't go into the author's comments to chide them, don't be weird, I've given you enough warning.
That's all from me about my first and only bottom Gojo fic lmao, I watched a couple other anime I feel like talking about soon, 86 or Black Clover, not sure which I'll talk about first or if I'll just make another Goyuu post lol. Bye <333

I don’t even go here but your replies to deepdragons were so needlessly hostile.
“If you found it so disrespectful then why didn’t you block me?” This is childish and hypocritical. If you found their take so bad, why did you go out of your way to go to their blog, find the post, and then argue with them? Why didn’t YOU block them first so you wouldn’t have to see their takes? Why do people need to block you, to actively prevent you from interacting with them entirely, for you to not be rude to them?
People will have shitty takes and you will not agree with every post you see — that’s the nature of fandom. You can’t control how other people post or think and that’s annoying, I get it, but YOU can control how you interact with others. The way you were speaking to that person was so needlessly rude and hostile. Is that how you speak to people in real life? I’m so curious as to what your goal was in talking to them like that. Surely it wasn’t to convince any one of anything. Who would want to agree with someone being so dickish and annoying about something as inconsequential as the politics of elven aging? So, what was all of that for? Did that make you happy or have you just riled yourself up? Do you feel like you accomplished something by speaking to someone like that?
I really hate when people tear others apart for being wrong about fandom things. If you were wrong about something, do you think you would appreciate someone talking to you in the way you spoke to deepdragons? Or would you rather they approach you with respect and understanding? Golden rule and all that, yeah?
You did not have to seek them out and you did not have to engage with them. Next time, either speak to others with respect or just make your own goddamn post. Not everything needs to be a debate.
I also find it funny how you were coming at them for not being faithful for the lore or whatever and then, when someone with more textual evidence than you rebutted your statements and called for you to back up your claims, you were like “I can’t be expected to cite all of my claims like an academic paper!!” Fucking lol. The onus of proof lies only with the people you disagree with, huh?
Have you seen the original post? I'm guessing not because then you'd know that my reply pretty much mirrored the exact condescending tone used by the OP. I also didn't "go out of my way" to do anything. I've said so before and I'll repeat it again: I got an error while reblogging the OG post, went to check the person's blog for what's up with that and the first thing I saw was them calling people stupid for pointing out that They're Not Correct. I already had the post written at that point and I simply copied it from one tab to another. This is the internet, you post something publicly people can and will interact with it unless you stop them. I didn't block the OP because at the time I did not give a shit if they interacted with me or not, I was just setting straight misinfo I see regurgitated over and over again to the point I'm sick of it. Because of the attitude they displayed I was actually fully expecting to get blocked straight away myself.
I'm not actually a dick unless someone annoys me into it. Because sometimes people get annoyed and they're rude, that's just how people work. But I guess you know that? Since you're annoyed at me and wrote a whole essay trying to make me feel bad?
And just to finish this off.. none of my statements were rebutted. I got lore dumped on and half of it wasn't even interpreted correctly from the linked books. Yes, I don't need to cite like it's an academic paper because all the goddamn info needed was already in my first post. Astarion was not a child because he was a grown ass man with a government job. There's no basis for "Ascended Vampires can't love" because Larian homebrews their vampires so the written lore doesn't apply. That's literally it. People on this site just can't fucking read.

sighsss see like......... idk. i hink its more of a moral thing than like, having actual evidence for it. and also i think its people also giving William a lot of the benefit of the doubt, considering we dont actually see what evens death does to william thru his eyes, personally. hut still smth abt this conclusion just doesnt !!!! sit right with me !!
first even if we dont see it from williams eyes i do still think his actions can be very telling as well..? and i just cant recall any precedent being set about..... williams remorse....or guilt orrr grief or whatever? like i just don't think thats a part of him we see in the games. so when people put that onto him it just feels like.... like WHERE did this come from 🤨 ?
whereas we HAVE seen. williams egotism..... and even disregarding the stuff we get that more evidently reflects this even just looking at his actions earlier in the series yknow???? yknow????? and i think its just, more likely of a thing to...... put in that. like slot ig if that makes sense . like it makes marginally more sense to attribute his child resurrections to the ego r whatever of it than anything else.
but also its just likeeee !!! like we'll probably never really get a clear cut THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WILLIAM AFTON THOUGHT AND FELT ABOUT THIS EVENT: (and this is excluding the books since i havent read the big novels so i cant say anything particular about his characterization there) yknow what i kean though???? well jever REALLY KNOW the kind of impact evans death had on william to the T. i can just say for certain its just really off to me......
AND. NOT TO MAKE THIS ABOUT MOVIE AFTON but i think this also proves my thoughts abt him???? like literally all of them?????? wr never ONCE see him like wracked by guilt and while we dont get an EXACT motivation for killing ppl i like .
like people r so obsessed with figuring out EXACTLY whats wrong with him and EXACTLY this and that that i think people miss the point. Severely. much like in real life its not as simple as, 'well this thing happened to them so this is why their evil!' people are EXTREMELY. EXTREMELY NUANCED AND COMPLICATED. and again WELL MIST LIKELY NEVER GET AN EXACT REASON WHY HES LIKE THIS. AND I DONT THINK WE NEED TO AND tbh i think itd probably make him less realistic and compelling.
William Afton is a serial killer, hes a serial killer who murders children. he does not need a deep psychoanalysis n whatever shit, again like REAL LIFE SERIAL KILLERS theres no looking at everything and pining smth down for sure you cant. you cant truly comprehend someone like that, theres a million possible reasons why william could be like this, and while no. i dont think he was just capital e Evil brok the day he was born the fact of the matter is we dont have enough info about him BEFORE all of this to be sure.
i think the most likely scenario is that it was a slow incline, its possible he killed small animals before this perhaps in his youth, maybe he accidentally killed someone and it pushed him even further down this path. obviously he didnt just Become this one day, it was most likely a long time coming. again: Normal Well Adjusted Individuals Dont Just Start Serial Murdering Children <3333
and like....... yea...... just. yea....... i dont think its a totally unreasonable conclusion to make. i just dont think its really correct or the Most reasonable all considering.
i just think like, obv we didnt get a true backstory for william afton, there are bits of him we just will not understand and arent relevant to the story at hand, there IS a reason why we dont see further back for him. and ik this might be hard to grasp in a fandom where 95% of everyone tries to piece everything together PERFECTLY to find the FULL TRUE 100% SOLVED answer. but thats just? not the point of fnaf, like in general? i mean if it was we would have a more conclusive timeline wouldnt we? and i just think this is also encapsulated in william afton himself.

Ch 37: Undead + Unluck
Tumblr media
Little fanartist
This cover is super sweet and the little details like the stubby crayon and the way the socks gather are so wholesome! I love the blending of genres, too. Little Fuuko has drawn a sports manga scene from You-Me and has a magical girl on her shorts, and the cover itself is a time travel.
Tumblr media
Space soccer club invasion arc sounds like a real page-turner, tbh. I'd read it.
The panels we're shown all match up with something that happened during the Acks battle. ⬇️
Tumblr media
They point out several times that To You, From Me has 101 volumes, which corresponds with the tablet that keeps track of penalties.
Something that bugs me here is that Juiz gives them instructions without explaining why doing those things is important.
Tumblr media
I wish she would give them more context like what she thinks they might find. It feels like she's still keeping some of the important info to herself.
Andy concludes that they'll need to make a manga to get into Shueisha HQ. Which is just an absolutely delightful thing to happen after the heavy Unbelievable Arc.
Fuuko has every fanfic author's dilemma:
Tumblr media
Andy mentions Osamu Tezuka, the "Father of Manga," whose famous works were created in the 1950s-80s. One of his later works was Black Jack, and the main character has some similarities with Rip.
Tumblr media
Black Jack also has some chapters that have been changed or removed from publication, much like You-Me.
Tezuka used what he called a "Star System," which was his rotating cast of recurring characters that appear in works in his universe, similar to looping in UU using the same character types for each loop.
Andy tells Fuuko to write what she knows best.
Tumblr media
Fuuko says she's especially interested in learning more about herself through writing the story, so that she'll be able to summon even greater strokes of Unluck, which takes us back to Chapter 4, when Andy was trying to do the exact same thing:
Tumblr media
BUT, now that Andy knows he won't die even if the world ends, what's the point of Fuuko trying to give him the best death??
Tumblr media
What's the point of Andy's big dream to have a wicked sick death? What's the point of him staying with Fuuko? Unless, of course, he's developed feelings for her!
Andy gathers a team of helpers (except Shen, whose power is too dangerous for this project, but it's nice to see him speaking Chinese) and says he'll do the storyboards. Mico even brings Fuuko a set of robot arms to help her draw more quickly. Tatiana gives her some interesting advice on how to use them...
Tumblr media
"Imagine looking down at yourself from above." BECAUSE THAT'S HOW FUUKO'S GONNA WRITE THE STORY! She's looking down at her own life and putting it on paper. She's writing what she knows!
Tumblr media
There's even a panel of her drawing her manga!
Having Fuuko write her own manga is fun in a Bakuman kind of way, but I also think it's a comment from the God/Author. This is just one of the many ways the God/Author is making them suffer and toil, and of course the author feels that this is a real test of character and strength. They're making the characters suffer as they have.
It also gives the IRL author Tozuka a chance to throw in some light gags about the manga business and let Andy wear a fun hat.
Tumblr media
No, he doesn't look like a shoujo manga artist--- he looks like Osamu Tezuka!
Tumblr media
Poor Andy, he tried!
The Shueisha rep tells her a lot of very specific feedback that's probably the same kind of things Tozuka heard when he submitted Undead Unluck! The manga Fuuko submitted, with its wilder-looking Andy, matches up pretty well with the one-shot that started UU. I hope she left out the gropey parts.
Anyway, the manga impressed the Shueisha rep enough that she agreed to let Fuuko see the original manuscript for To You, From Me.
Now we know why we've been hearing so much about this manga, starting from page 1, chapter 1 where Fuuko is holding it while standing on the bridge over the trains. It's not just an "artifact" in the story. An ARTIFACT was used to write it!

Cyv Reads Homestuck - Act 2 Wrapup
Now, let's talk about act 2.
HOLY FUCK.
I thought act 1 moved quickly. I thought it dumped a lot of info on you at once. But that shit was nothing compared to this. All of a sudden, not only does the main cast open up, taking us to multiple locations in quick succession, but it also introduces different points on the timeline??? The wayward vagabond guy remains a complete mystery to me. He appears to be someone living on a far future version of earth, presumably after the meteors took everything out. But that still leaves so many questions. Why does he have a contraption that allows him to directly communicate with John? How is that even possible if he's in the future? Is he actually in the future? What are those little buttons on the console for? What species is he? So many questions and so little answers.
Then we have our new characters in Dave and Rose, which are both an absolute delight. Rose is really interesting to me as she seems to be the one to give the least of her deeper personality away, opting to write in knowingly pedantic ways that sometimes make it harder to decipher what her true emotions even were at the time. The horror nerd with a preference for solitude is certainly an archetype I can relate to, which was fun, and the purple color scheme is just really nice looking honestly.
Dave Strider is a bastard. I fucking love him. He's the exact kind of "kid who thinks he's so much cooler than he actually is" that, similar to what I said about the comic's writing in general, could get obnoxious really easily, but is instead written in such a brilliant way that makes his antics constantly entertaining. And the puppets just everywhere??? Help????
All three of these characters share some things in common. One being their unique typing styles, which I think really characterizes them so well and makes their interactions through Pesterchum so endearing to read. The second is that they're clearly all internet friends purely. They make reference to being in different locations and even timezones, and it's awesome to see the switching perspectives yet still have all of them feed back into the overall narrative.
Other than that, this act continues to be really funny and really interesting. Actually, much more interesting than the first. While act 1 kept me hooked for the intriguing structure of the story and way it was written, act 2 is giving me so many threads to latch onto and see where the hell they're possibly going to go (if anywhere, that is). In addition to the vagabond - which gets even more interesting when you consider the final, and may I say phenomenally done, animation wherein you see other parts of this strange and desolate version of our world - I also wonder about these strange little imps and what their deal could be. Where the two halves of the kernelsprite actually ended up and if they'll come into play. How these seemingly disparate worlds and times are connected and even communicating with each other. What in the fuck Sburb even is and where it came from. So, so many questions. And I don't know how many will be answered but god damn now I need to find out. I'm starting to understand how this thing captured such a massive group of people.
So yeah. I am into this shit. I'll keep updating as I read on in the next act. Probably just short posts for the most part, but I may still do post-act wrapups like this one just to compartmentalize it all.

Episode 10 (2.3)
Reactions to "No Pain" It's the one episode with my muse in it so I'm probably going to be extra exacting about it.
I'm going to be honest I don't really care about the Great Conversion plot.
Also is it just me or is David's(?) accent inconsistent.
"Raglan James", more using canon for easter eggs.
Yeah, yeah. I get Daniel doesn't like power plays but why chase off someone giving him info?
Blender joke. Please do more than easter eggs AMC.
The caged person isn't even Nicolas? Damn
Also the dead of Robespierre is just slightly too late again, why are they messing with Lestat's timeline when they don't need to?
Armand is complaining about Lestat showing off, but he isn't even doing anything inhuman? What is "words flowed like canaries" supposed to mean?
Ok so they're making "come to me" (Lestat's phrase for Louis) Armand's to Lestat now.
Nicolas- drinking, worried about being caught, but smiles at the idea. Ok. ok.
I'm into this vamp fight but Armand looks a little silly when he bares his fangs.
That's it? That's fucking it? That's the whole kidnapping? No stalking, no taunting? He just kind of...throws Lestat once and it's over?
I know the reason Lestat suddenly knows about their cross phobia is Armand is editing the tale and skipping over parts but it's still really abrupt. This is one of the most climactic scenes in the book. I don't really get the point of showing it in an abridged, watered-down way first just to have the "better" version in a later season presumably.
Also, sure Armand, they destroyed themselves. uh huh.
Love how Armand and Lestat talk abot Nicolas' fragility when the audience has seen literally 0 of his mental health struggles. Great storytelling, y'all. /sarcasm
And, there it is, Lestat coming up with the theater idea. Hate it hate it, hate it, stop giving him credit.
The violence just looks silly! Also is that Nicki at the end?
Just making out in front of Nicolas, huh?
Also, the story Armand is going with is really "Lestat just left" with no mention of Marius or even Lestat's fight with Nicki? To say nothing of Gabrielle.
"Keep you under floorboards for a week"? That's very different from the assault implied in season 1.
Why is Louis just...fine with Armand not letting Claudia look him in the eye? Armand outright calls it abuse.
I should be so excited to see Louis and Armand debating the nature of good and evil, that is so much their thing. But having not seen it from Louis much before this, it feels kind of out of place or tacked on.
'I've known the whole time and was just waiting for you to admit it' is a hell of a red flag that i'm sure Louis will ignore.
So is...Louis making out with a halluciation? Imagining gentle touches or hearing Lestat's voice is one thing but what is the point of this?
Why are they faking like Armand's going to kill Louis when w know he doesn't?
In the books, Armand kills Claudia because he's possessive of Lou's love, and uses the laws as an excuse. Here, they haven't real;y established that jealousy? Claudia gets on well with the coven and Louis and Armand get their romantic walks. Just having them kill Claudia for the laws will feel kind of like a waste. They need a lot more setup to justify this.
Eh. my overall opinion is very similar to m complaints of the first season. One, that they keep using easter eggs as adaptation bonus points. Two, that while a story can play with perspective and unreliable narrators and be good, it undercuts the effect if the narrative is 'here's a bad version of the story, aren't you excited for the better one later'.

Out of curiosity, why do you hate One Piece? I know that the character designs for the women Aren’t Great and Usopp also has some unfortunate design choices, but other than that I haven’t heard many major complaints about the show/manga. However, I haven’t watched/read one piece so all the info I have is secondhand
Ok so this is my subjective opinion as a person who used to be absolutely obsessed with One Piece as a child. I still read it when I find the energy to do so and I've read up to volume 100. The reasons I dislike OP now are
Oda's misogyny, part 1: As you said, women's designs are Not Great. They've gotten boobier and more and more sexually exaggerated as the series goes on imo. OP does have cool female characters and cool female character designs, but when Oda wants to draw a conventionally beautiful female character, he just draws variations of the same woman. When it comes to conventionally beautiful female characters, I also struggle to tell apart who is who because a lot of them have the same face (and same body) syndrome.
Oda's misogyny, part 2: A lot of this comes up in extra-textual materials such as the reader Q&A sections he does in the manga volumes. I don't have these volumes with me at hand so I'm only paraphrasing what I remember but he's said stuff about how he draws OP for boys first and foremost, and how female fans just don't "get it" the way male fans do. This honestly broke my heart as I was the biggest OP obsessive when I was in primary school. I loved OP as much as any boys, but my passion is diminished just because I'm a girl? I cannot respect someone who thinks like that. (and unfortunately a lot of male creatives in Japan have said stuff like that). There's also some gender-bend art he drew that was pretty insulting. Also the time he drew OP characters as old people where male characters got to look like proper grandpas while female characters weren't allowed to show age. It's all so boring.
Racism, part 1: Yes you're right about Usopp's design (I love him though...). Also Oda does a weird thing where whenever he draws coloured artworks, he paints all the characters' skin in the exact same orange-pink tone. No one in OP manga has dark skin afaik because everyone has the same skin tone. I've always found that strange, especially when characters have all sorts of different hair colours and design quirks, somehow skin tone is the one thing he refuses to diversity. The anime improves on this at least by giving different characters different skin tones.
Racism, part 2: I hate that they retconned Nico Robin to be light skinned in the anime. Give us our brown skinned Robin back. Fuck.
Homophobia and transphobia: The usage of the word "okama" is a controversial one and I'm not in a position to speak on it as I'm neither a gender non-conforming man nor a transgender woman, but I don't think it's appropriate to use it so much in a manga meant for children. I understand that some queer people in Japan do self identify as okama, and Oda uses "I have friends who are okama" as an excuse but I still think the liberal usage of okama in OP a bad idea. Also one time Sanji got stranded on an island called Kamabakka ("full of okama") Kingdom and the joke is that all these caricaturized ugly cross-dressing men (?) want Sanji and he is grossed out by them.
The art style. I used to love Oda's simple, cartoony art. And it got more and more complicated and maximalist and again, modern day OP gives me a headache because it's like everything is going on eveywhere (all the time). That's my personal taste of course. I just find it to be too much. Also this ties in with my previous point of "too many characters" - new OP characters look more and more grotesque and monstrous because Oda needs to introduce a character who looks distinguishable from all the thousands of characters that appeared before (unless this new character is a conventionally attractive woman, then she looks the same). I just think it's ugly… I don't like it.
I also think it has gone on for far too long. It's gotten so sprawling and complicated that I don't find it fun anymore. Too many characters and too much history to keep track of. Whenever I read a modern OP volume it kind of gives me a headache while I try to understand who is where and doing what for what reason. I'm not invested enough to pour in the energy needed to keep track of everything anymore.
Nationalism?: I find it kind of cringe whenever a Japanese artist wants to insert their own version of Japan into their fantasy work (eg. Hiizuru in Attack on Titan) because those Fantasy Japan countries tend to be portrayed as a cool awesome place where you will find many strong honorable people yay <3 and I'm like "okay, Narcissist". The Wano-kuni arc felt so self-congratulatory. It was a bit painful.
This one is just petty stuff that's entirely my taste thing again but even as a child I found some of Oda's writing traits to be cringe lmao. Some of these attack names are so dumb (Zoro's onigiri, I get that it's a pun, doesn't work for me lol), and how different characters have to have their own weird laughs. Also OP never got me invested enough in the character of Ace so the whole Enies Lobby arc just bored me and sapped a lot of the interest I still had in OP. I just don't care anymore.
You asked a simple question and I'm sorry I wrote a long ass post but like I said, I used to be a massive fan so I just have... a lot of Thoughts. Thanks for asking.

Papi, sorry but I do think the Karen meme has gone too far...
I was literally just reading about this case about a "Karen" who tried to steal a bike from a group of young black men. She even cried at some points while trying to hold onto the bike, saying she was scared for her fetus. Everyone in the comments on YouTube, Reddit, etc. were calling her an entitled Karen, said she was weaponizing her tears, calling her mysogynistic things and made fun of the fetus comment. They doxxed her, sent her death threats, got her fired from her job and left horrible reviews on her husbands business.
Turns out later when more info came out that it was in fact the black teens that were robing her bike, and when she refused to give it, they decided to film her to paint her on social media as a racist and a robber. She is also six months pregnant, and came from a 12 hours long shift, thus probably why she was so emotional when she confronted them.
But everyone was eager for another racist Karen being shamed and ridiculed. And this is the thing: many people literally use the Karen thing as a excuse for being mysogynistic. There were comments by men saying how women, no matter the race, weaponize their tears against men all the time, even in court, and how men never did it because nobody cares about men. There were talks about female privilege, and how too many women grew up entitled and never being told 'no'. There were others making fun of the fetus comment, how she cared too much about a 'clump of cells' or an unborn fetus. A man who stated he was overweight even said he was going to start telling people he was pregnant as a way to get out of bad situations like women do, with many upvotes.
Like, i'm not saying there shouldn't be a term for racist white women, but why a name?? There are many nice women named Karen, hell, i know a black one whos so kind and smart yet she feels embarrassed by it nowadays.
Anyways, it scares me a little how much some men hate women. Like, this made me find out about a story where an 11 year old little girl was punched in the face by a grown man after she pushed him. Everyone on Reddit was defending the man, saying how she deserved it because she pushed him first, making jokes about "pussy pass denied" and calling her a bitch. Turns out the man actually had harrassed her first, and only uploaded the video from the part she pushed him (out of self defence). But everyone was celebrating, because apparently a lot of Reddit men love videos were women (and girls) are beaten?
Anyways, one thing I find weird is how a lot of black women cape for black men. I saw some on the comments of the first case, a black lady talking about how the white woman was weaponizing her tears and all, framing innocent black boys, and then when confronted with the truth, she just defended herself saying she was scared for her little brother and thats why she jumped to conclusions. But ive never seen black men care much for black women, in fact, i see them criticizing black women a lot and blaming them for the failings of the black community.
I mean, when the Meghan Thee Stallion case was going on, I saw both black men AND women defend the guy that shot her, and how she shouldn't let a brother go to jail. But black men never have the same energy for black women.
I'm not gonna pretend like the men from my racial group aren't super sexist, they are, but at least they do defend 'their women'.
Well, sorry for the wall of text and for being all over the place, could be the fucking autismo.
What you really need to understand anon, is that there's a difference between the viral Karen meme, and crusty scrote who jumped on the last bandwagon and started using it left and right for the worst.
(White people did the exact same with "woke" btw).
My problem is Whitefem and their mule acting like they were one and the same and that the OG Karen meme at the same mean spirited/misogynist intent as the second wave.. i HATE how Whitefem want to control the narrative and pretend knowing better than the actual people who made Karen viral what it truly meant. By brushing the whole karen meme as misogynist/racist they conveniently swipe under the rug the VALID criticism of the (Black) community that made that meme viral in the first place. This maliciousness hidden behind fake empathy is what disgusts me the most. White women will NEVER accept accountability. Never. Look at them girl bossify literal serial killer, murderers and abusers just because they're White women (interestingly you never see them doing so for non White female criminals 🤔). And when they do evil shit, oh it's their bIoLogY or "reactive vIolEncE"..... BYE
Look at yourself, anon. You bring this story of that poor women unfairly treated....but could you reflect WHY you'd never have the energy to remind "anti Karen Whitefem" stories of Black people who got as much unfairly treated on their shitty "anti Karen" think piece?? How unfair it is to lump legitimately frustrated people of color to misogynist scrotes just bc they vented against a manipulative White woman? Why would White women facing injustice somehow override the plentiful of other people who's only crlme is giving a funny nickname to racist White women? Why would the collectivity of people who experienced the direct threat of racist White women appease the handful of cranky White women by policing their own slang? Think about that.
Tell the scrote to shut up about Karen as much as you want, but leave those who knew how to use it with actual purpose alone. Men will always find ways/words to mock and abuse women. Karen is just a tool for them. Acting like the medium was the problem is ridiculous.
Like, i'm not saying there shouldn't be a term for racist white women, but why a name?? There are many nice women named Karen, hell, i know a black one whos so kind and smart yet she feels embarrassed by it nowadays.
Why not? Black women being named "Karen" are definitely a thing but interestingly, those aren't the one whining crying throwing up about how aKtcHualLy the Karen meme is misogynist and that "I'm the biggest victim" self-pity party
One should never side that hard against anyone over a viral video. But could we stop acting like White women weren't out there siding with their racist male counterpart everyday ? I lost count of all the white women simping haaaard for White men exposed for killing Black men. But since you see Black women closer to "masculinity", you point that out only for us 🙃
I mean, when the Meghan Thee Stallion case was going on, I saw both black men AND women defend the guy that shot her, and how she shouldn't let a brother go to jail. But black men never have the same energy for black women.
I'm not gonna pretend like the men from my racial group aren't super sexist, they are, but at least they do defend 'their women'.
That's totally true. Black men are fucked up. I will never try to find them excuses, but no other race had to bear with centuries of slavery and colonization where the only come up was elevating or being related to whiteness. It entirely reverted the male/female dynamics in the Black community, where men, instead of providing for women, started to seek to elevate themselves with the closest thing they had to whiteness = white women. Average Black men are fundamentally hypergamist and "female" in their behavior.
Black women naturally still cling to 'their' men but it's hardly reciprocated. Hence the frustration of many Black women of feeling rejected by their own. Their equivalent on the dating pool are Asian men. Issa Rae was right in saying they should date each other lmao but this statement made Black men freak out bc they still claim ownership over Black women (while still saying we're ugly undesirable etc). That's highkey fucked up, but so are most Black men, that's why smart Black women are open to interracial dating 💁🏾‍♀️
There's no one to defend Black women. BLM was a pro Black man movement, that's why I lowkey didn't give a shit about it. I'm pro black women and Black women can only count on themselves. Fake intersectional White feminist shown their butt big time with their tantrum about the Karen meme, and most Black men are dusties.

The thing is though, if that was the case (him recognizing Brenner due to his connection to Henry), I do not think Netflix or the writers would have tried to shut it down. Will recognizing Brenner due to his connection to Henry is not exactly a spoiler. We already got info dump / exposition about that at the cabin scene, we already know Will knows how Henry feels or thinks. I think him remembering Brenner could be a spoiler that is not yet revealed, and I think that's why the writers/Netlfix wanted the script to taken down.
That would be a spoiler because it is not explicitly stated in the show and I'm willing to bet if the script is real, those lines were not in the final draft.
Maybe nerds like you and I think it'd be too obvious that Will recognized Brenner because of Henry. But if you asked reddit or the general audience today why they think Will recognized Brenner in the desert they would say, "Huh? Will recognized Brenner? Nu uh he was just surprised to see blood on a random old man."
To further prove my point, there's a post going around on reddit questioning why the other characters didn't comment on Will's eyes getting darker while he was possessed.
A good portion of the comments are either, "This wasn't on purpose. That's just how hazel eyes are." and "Oh, I didn't know they did that on purpose!"
Things that are obvious to super nerds, like how obvious Will and El eventually becoming siblings was to me, are not obvious to the rest of the audience who at one point didn't believe Joyce and Hopper would get together or were against Joyce adopting El for whatever reason.
I think it's perfectly reasonable for Netflix to crack down on draft copies leaking out that would give the audience way too much information, information only meant for the writers as they connect scenes, moments, and characters together before being expunged in a final draft.
Will recognizing Brenner, thus indicating that Will still has Henry's thoughts and memories buried deep in his mind and thus could help them defeat Vecna in the final battle would be just as much of a spoiler as Will being previously involved with the lab, which doesn't really lead to anything interesting imo.
Like, what would the big surprise be that Will went to the lab once or twice? He met El and Henry and then dipped? There's... no connection there.
If Will has powers, he doesn't need any involvement with the lab. He didn't need to have met El or Henry. Unlocking abilities, meeting El, having Henry's memories that may lead to his defeat.... it all happened organically through tragic circumstances without the lab's help.
I think the lab is more of El/Henry's thing. Their trauma. Will had a brush with it in season 2 and also came away from it with traumatic memories, but it is more of El and Henry's thing.
Meanwhile, I think the Upside Down is more of Will (and Henry's) thing. The more intricate parts of it I mean like the Mind Flayer and all that (obviously it is also El's thing)
In my mind, for the parallels between El and Will to work properly, they need to actually be paralleling each other with very similar backgrounds but also entirely different, yet ending up in the exact same place. If that makes sense.

Leona Info Compilation part 5: Ruggie (pt 3)
We see Leona employ Ruggie in a variety of tasks, such as protecting him during Beanfest (for a “daily special” from the cafeteria every day for a week), taking on his tasks during Vargas Camp (for a shopping trip that Ruggie took with Leona’s money) and recruit new students for the spell drive club (for doughnuts).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The task Ruggie dislikes the most might be having to pick up Leona’s room and do laundry, which we hear him complain about fairly often, but Leona pays for washing Ruggie’s clothes along with his own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruggie seems to be uncomfortable with receiving charity—when Silver offers to lend him money, Ruggie refuses—which is possibly why Leona is always having to find roundabout ways to support Ruggie financially.
Since Ruggie will not accept money unless he feels like he is getting away with something Leona does things like give Ruggie both his wallet and his permission to buy whatever it is he wants in exchange for standing in line at the school store.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it weren’t for the appearance of a monster that they needed magic in order to fight off, it is likely that Leona had been intending to let Ruggie smuggle a magestone out of the mines to sell, as well.
Ruggie points that out he has nothing but large bills and Leona responds, “Why’re you getting all hung up on the details?" Ruggie reflects that Leona probably wouldn’t even notice if he kept more in change than what the detergent costs, saying, “far be it from me to look a gift horse in the mouth, though. Cha-ching!”, seemingly unaware that that is likely Leona’s exact intent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leona also helps with Ruggie’s education, as Night Raven College is Ruggie’s first time in a school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
