#my hiking photos#hiking selfie#this was the day I did 8.5 miles in unbroken snow#where the fucking trail I was planning to use#was CLOSED#I discovered it when I got to the very end of it#and the connector to the next part of the trail was gone#so I had to backtrack and reroute to get back to my car#which tbh was a ton of fun#but it started to snow while I was doing that#so it was real dramatic#anyway that'll teach me to hike new trails in the winter lol

#ernest talks#continuing where i was#i have so little time recreationally and everyone around me is busier and I've gotten more anxious and nervous over the years#and that goes for everyone else i talk to or want to talk to#and i try creating these community events like hangouts or celebrations or anything to get people coming in#or try to host stuff and we're mostly busy#I'm super super grateful when we have those hangouts work!!! I'm always so happy when people can join or make time for them#i kinda just... mourn that this too will go away and people will dissipate and the fandom goes inactive again#so i really cherish the time we make to ask each other about our day when it comes to mind#<- pointing to me saying this because I've gotten more edged in recent years and stop talking to others so i can reflect#feel like I've been too salty on fandom lately (lately like the last two years)#i also have tons of posts about like the LL fandom not being dead and I'd like that to be true#but ahhhh busy busy busyyyyyyy#I'm also generally favorable to communicating on discord instead of tumblr#which not everyone uses casually#so that's also a huge factor#asks are fun but tbh i don't get a lot of conversations continued that way#it ends up a one and done thing#either there's significant pressure in the reply to make it good that isn't usual in other text form convos#or some other reason i don't know of#conversations end quicker on tumblr so i end up relying on discord convos more

its so funny being a pokemon and kirby fan bc of fanservice like pokemon fans will bite and growl when gen 1 gets preferential treatment over and over again while kirby fans hear green greens remastered for the 60th time and collectively shout with joy
#im both btw#tbh tho they do feel very different#bc with kanto pandering it takes the attention off of regions that are good in their own right and never get acknowledged#beyond maybe the starters getting a shoutout#also if a kanto mon you love isnt a fan fave then go fuck yourself too bc only early game pokemon and starters and fan faves get noticed#but with kirby fanservice it feels less like āāhey 30 year olds remember when u were a kid?? do you??? do you??? fuck everyone else thoāā#and genuinely like a nice little throwback. its not invasive or obnoxious about anything#like kanto pandering was so bad in swsh that they tried to dodge a ton of galar mons and had npcs even say kanto had better ones basically#but if you play planet robobot or something then youre very much getting a ton of planet robobot and a game thats confident in itself#that cares abt its story and its new characters and its gameplay and lean into everything new#and the stickers you can put on your mech of past characters in no way overshadows that#the remakes never feel lacking or anything either like even rtdl dx which i didnt think NEEDED to exist#was still really worth buying and has a ton of stuff to appreciate and doesnt feel like a cash grab#even star allies which is very fanservice-heavy still has its own clear identity and storyline#and the fanservice isnāt something to complain abt bc its an anniversary game anyways#like the only complaint ive seen people have is that āāits alienating to newcomers to have so much fanserviceāā#but even then i donāt necessarily think thats bad#like the masks in rtdl. you dont need to know all the masks to have fun with em and theyre not required#maybe youll also just like a cute snowman keychain in triple deluxe#idk kirby just has fanservice down to a T#echoed voice#then again. i am the fan being serviced

hi hey hiiii, to those of you migrating from reddit? I've got a hot tip for speedrunning your understanding of this hot mess; think of tumblr as Inverse Redditā¢
basically, on reddit everything is neatly organised by topic. if you want to emulate this, go into a specific tag on tumblr by searching for and browsing it. HOWEVER, subreddits are a lot more curated and moderated in comparison. out here it's the wild west. you'll uh, see good and bad to a much greater extent and variance.
because on tumblr, you follow people instead of topics. so basically, gotta take the time to follow people that (mostly) post about topics that you like! use the tagging system or search to find viable candidates, curate your own lil' circle of people that post/reblog things which provide you dopamine or enrichment.
the beauty of it all imo is that this makes the whole site a bit chaotic. a little unhinged. zesty. buuut this is also why the block button should be used more frequently and pre-emptively than in most other places. you curate your own experience here, so it's important to just go with your vibes if they feel off.
we've got bots, trolls and shitheads like every other site, but it's up to you and not some Gilded Reddit Moderatorā¢ to decide who to keep the fuck out and which ones you can tolerate.
anyway, welcome and have fun! oh and the tagging system is complete anarchy, you'll get the hang of it eventually. maybe.

#im lost in my own memories as well as recounting what my mother has told me#i will admit i do not fully recall things from before i was 5. but i do have some vague memories. i KNOW Part of Your World was the...#well...first song i ever memorized. i remember putting the movie in my vhs player and rewinding the song . waiting. then pushing play again#to listen to the song and sing along with it. i would sing With ariel. i spent hours doing this with plenty of songs :)#until i got the hang of it and could perfectly (or as perfectly as a prek age kid can) sing it. i did this with a LOT of songs from movies#i sang disney. i sang barbie. (most specifically āfreeā from princess and the pauper. tbh tho i mostly sang Barbies part and not Ericas???)#but i did sing all of the other girl parts in that movie...#anyway. i joined choir come middle school. was in varsity. joined the highest choir a little 1st year in HS can join when i got into HS#something i still hold pride in bc we had tryouts for it :) i had multiple solos for choir concerts. in my 2nd year of HS i was bumped up#to Chorale choir (aka THE highest choir...intermingling boys and girls) and i even tried out for Show Choir#which you can only try out if you are in Acapella (the highest a freshman can be in) or Chorale. and only 10 to 12 girls make it in#and i made it in :)#sure by then i felt overshadowed but i had a ton of fun :) i quit choir my last two years bc...#well. i was pursuing a possible medical career via classes#but i still sing to this day. its so Relaxing and releases SO much serotonin. and tbh whats the weirdest part..?#when i try to record myself singing i get all nervous. but the moment i hold a microphone? even if im recording? my confidence shoots up#and my anxiety goes away#i love the stage. i love singing. idc if its ''cringe'' or im a Horrible person for ''loving disney'' but without disney songs?#i might not have grown into the person i am with singing as my biggest passion#so YES im going to see TLM live action in theaters. I. Dont. Care. if people think the movie sucks before they even see it#that shit SHAPED my childhood

and i found out Against Great Darkness has got powerups that add extra paddles and shit, which is exactly the kinda thing i was wanting. oh man that one is already off to a great start. weirdly addicting, really ropes me in. i dunno how replayable itll be tho which is always a concern with roguelites

guys things are happening
#so i met this girl at work last summer and we clicked right away and we were super close for a while#and it was really only a few months but i considered her one of my best friends#and then both of us got promoted to basically shift leads and right after that things just got really weird between us#i never figured out what exactly happened but it was just like tense and off which sucked bc the time before that was so much fun#but i just pushed it aside bc i still wanted to be friends with her and i was hoping it would just pass i guĆ©s#and THEN a couple months later she got promoted to store manager which wasā¦ shocking#i want to make it super clear i did not want to be manager and i truly was not jealous of her job#but i just did not think she was the right choice for manager bc after working super closely with her for months#i had seen her do sooo much shit that was either not allowed or just like not correct and straight up kinda dumb??#but none of the higher ups knew about it bc i would always help her fix her mistakes bc she was my friend and i wanted things done right yk#so anyway she became manager and our friendship just got even weirder bc suddenly she was my boss and i did not think she was a good manager#as much as i still loved her as a person she just got on my nerves a lot at work bc of the way she was running things#THEN a month after that annual company wide layoffs happened and i got laid off š which i have vented a ton about on here bc it was awful#and the one bright side to it was that i thought maybe our friendship could start to go back to normal now that we didnāt work together#but instead she pretty much stopped talking to me completely aside from sending me a tiktok occasionally#so i was like okay this sucks but oh well iāve got my own shit to deal with now that iāve gotten laid off so iāll just give her space#and tbh i was just hoping a band we both like would go on tour soon or something so iād have a good opportunity to ask her to hang out again#BUT THEN she texted me a few minutes ago and turns out she just got fired???#which does not happen often at that job btw thereās very low turnover i think only like 2 people got fired the whole time i worked there#usually layoffs are the only time people end up leaving#and itās weird bc i spent all that time thinking it was a bad choice for them to make her manager and she wasnāt doing a good job#but iām still somehow surprised???#and i feel so guilty bc i talked so much shit about the whole thing with one of my other friends bc her management pissed me off so bad#and itās not like me talking about it with someone who didnāt even work there caused her to get fired but i still feel so bad#like yeah i do think she shouldnāt have been manager in the first place but i would never wish that on someone yk#so idk iām just like in a very weird headspace rn!!#vent#lj.txt

omg iām so excited to hear that :D honestly fnaf lore is super interesting to me bc it tends to work in a way that the smaller details tend to actually take Way more information to explain than the broader plot. which i feel like happens to a certain degree in most media, but with fnaf itās true for almost Everything and to such a huge degree bc of how the lore is delivered through usually more subtle methods, to the point that you could probably play some games and walk away without having seen an ounce of story bc you didnāt know where to look for it. maybe i love it so much bc i love args and the way the story is told is vaguely arg-esque lol
and honestly, my favorite way to take in the lore is genuinely watching play throughs of the games and piecing it together from those. it takes longer than watching an analysis video, but it does let you explore the different threads of the story on ur own, which means you get to weave it together in the way you think the pieces fit together best
#tbh i generally consume the game content through watching m.arkipliers play throughs for the most part#he just does a good job of first playing the game blind#and Then going back to show secrets and details he missed#which really lets you see a ton of the story in a more natural approach to the game#so if you wanna deep dive - thatās the way i like to do it :]#ask#anon#itās also fun to look at different analyses and theories but i like going into them as a way to find alternate takes instead of as a way to#build my own take from the ground up#bc. arg fan etc#i had a ton of fun answering ur questions anon ty ty for asking :]
