what do you like about tokyo mew mew as a whole? I can't remember if you have done a full talk about it before.

Rereading the manga as someone who grew up watching the 2000s anime def revealed I had been viewing a lot of the story with rose tinted glasses. I do enjoy it a lot more than Sailor Moon thought it might just be from me having a bias.

I grew up obsessed with animals so I've already had a draw to Tokyo Mew Mew as it's a magical girl series with the girls based off endangered animals.

The outfits, as I talked about before, are like...the best magical uniforms ever in my opinion. If I had to do a list, Tokyo Mew Mew would be at the top of it for best uniforms followed by Power Puff Girls Z and then Doremi.

I think the names of the characters are very cute too, including them working at a maid cafe so you have these girls also employed as they are risking their lives saving the world.

I also enjoy Quiche and that added element of the antagonists having some redemption. Quiche is like...the most problematic element for many of course but I love the little shit and he is was led baby me into falling down the villain fan rabbit hole. It was also my first exposure to a villain in love with a protagonist (and it not ending with the fella dying) and that was one of the biggest "WAIT YOU CAN DO THAT???" moments to me when it came to story telling.

Tokyo Mew Mew does suffer from a fair share of things I don't really like, like the sexualization of the girls (especially Ichigo), how Ichigo's personality doesn't get as much room as I'd like due to her one-track mind on her crush (I love the moments she gets to hang with the Mew Mews), and Aoyama just not having as much dimension to him as I'd like (that's the one thing Sailor Moon def has over Tokyo Mew Mew for me since Tuxedo Mask was at least a funny dude in the beginning).

OVERALL--Tokyo Mew Mew is the most nostalgic magical girl series for me as I grew up watching it when it aired on 4Kidz when I was a kid, and then I rewatched the actual unedited subbed version on Youtube with each episode in three parts when I was in middle school.

It's not the best magical girl series BUT it's got some charm to it that I appreciate.

The Last Temptation of Jerry review babeee, let's gooo!

This ep. wasn't advertised as usual by adult swim yt channel, and that was sus, so I was expecting some spectacular stuff or something absolutely crazy, funny and a little silly: it was the second case💀 As usual, I'll sum up my impressions into 3 points, my take in general, the episodes themes I noticed, the sus/interesting details. Enjoy and please share your thoughts or even a little Morty yellow heart, so I can feel more motivated to do other R&M posts 💛 (put on your dark mode ((like, who doesn't have dark mode on??)) to better read my gay, colorful writings ✨).

Okay there be SPOILERS my dudes, beware!

_________My take (I'm part of the R&M cult, so, impartiality)________

First things second: I'm really liking Jerry's arc. While in the first seasons he was really the depiction of a covert/vulnerable narcissists and he used to totally creep me out, he is slowly becoming a much humane and sweet version of a Jerry. His love for cooking, holidays and his family are really heart warming and he really proves how much he cares with actions over words. This Jerry really is more caring and, surprisingly, he takes accountability over his own actions.

This scene was so sweet 💛He recognizes he's scaring his wife and messing up with the family time he wanted so much: he's not defensive or out of control, he’s honest with his feelings and admits he doesn’t know what to do, he needs help. There is open communication here, and that's a healthy basis to make him and Beth work together through this problem as a real couple, maybe for the first time in the show.

He also immediately takes home the Easter bunny after the car accident, trying to help, and he really feels empathy for the creature, even if he vomits on them multiple times (a Jerry's still a Jerry). This is a huge parallelism with what happened with previous Jerry in s2 ep 1, a Rickle in Time, where Jerry hits a deer and promptly proposes to leave it there without providing first aid for the poor baby. Even the location is the same! But this time the scene takes place in the middle of the night.

Morty being a silly little guy is really something interesting to see: just like the Blips&Chitz episode aftermath, Morty is never the sharpest knife in the drawer after messing up with his brain: even if something changed in his attitude towards Rick and he seems to be more independent, something’s off with him, he is more superficial and he kinda…regresses? Rick trying not to lose his shit with Morty through the entire episode omg 💀💀

you can tell he’s very immature not to say he’s... a bit stupid 💀 which is great bcs A: is becoming increasingly obvious that he needs to accept reality and stop messing up with his brain B: from a narrative point, is a good way to differentiate Morty from Evil Morty/Arcade Morty, to highlight that the first is still a silly kid while the seconds are grown ass adults.

And now the part I liked the most, bcs I totally fell for it:

If "we're so screwed." was an image 💀

Okay, I know Rick got shot in the head multiple times through the seasons, but you really never know with this f*cking show 💀 I got worried, okay??

And then it got worse...

And WORSE...

At this point I was like "Okay, this is it, we're Cronenberging again. Actually, this is even worst of Cronenberg, great."

This ep. really played with us the whole time: when the situation escalated, I really took that bait sooo hard.

And then the unexpected happened: Jerry finally became one of my new fav characters:

After 7 seasons of me absolutely being unable to stand Jerry, this time I eventually started to like him. That's a wonderful redemption arc, that's a good way to develop a character, that's real change. He doesn't try his best just because he wants to look good, he takes responsibility because he genuinely feels he has to, he wants to. And even if he is just a naked human with no powers or high tech at all, he burst into action and his help is fundamental to fix the entire catastrophic situation. This family is really starting to work together, to fix things together.

This ending was the cherry on top of the icing on the cake:

Not only the entire family is now spending time together through different holidays during the year, but they're doing it purposefully: what matters now is them sharing quality time at their own terms, not some bs that society wants them to do. They really get the message through and through: it's not just abt abolishing holidays, they chose to act instead of following some empty, festive, traditional stuff. They actually recycle instead of just taking part in the Earth day for one day, they actually eat pizza together instead of preparing traditional meals that non one needs, they spend time as they want, when they want, refusing the capitalistic, empty holidays propaganda. I love this topic choice bcs I feel like this is one of our generation "great dilemmas": how do we keep alive holidays in our hearts, when all holidays are based on unjust, bloody historical events, religious dogmas or marketing strategies? In most cases, we grew up in houses with a lot of empty traditionalism from the old generations, we learnt to love the magical festive air, but we are aware enough, we have enough modern critical sense to know that what we had during childhood was, in most cases, just shallow, duty-nonsense, pushed by marketing/politics. So we had to re invent our holidays, to adjust our "quality family-time" entire concept, without having anyone to teach us how to do that. We tried to prioritize feelings over consumerist stuff, but also keeping decorations bcs they remind us of holidays' magic, making our secular traditions over religious old stuff that maybe isn't fitting with who we are now as young adults...

speaking of which: can we appreciate what an absolute menace Morty was by the end of the episode? love it 💀

Another great parallelism I noticed is the small sustainability reference: in Planetina's episode, I was kind grossed out by how unaware and not caring the entire family was about environmental issues. Beth and Jerry completely ignored the problem/not even bother to differentiate, and this lack of interest was of course transmitted to their children, like it wasn't their problem at all. Morty basically helps Planetina just bcs he has a crush on her, not out of sense of responsibility, he in fact proceeds to totally miss how grave the situation is or what Planetina's motivations could be. Morty seems to still missing the point about climate change now, but it's not the only thing he seems to miss during this ep...

Instead, we see Beth and Jerry recycling even the torn flyers, which is weird for them, and good.

I laughed so much at this bcs I could hear the rickorty fans and proshippers screaming in pain lol 💀💀

These two arguing simply had me dying 💀 The Zaslav reference was also gold (he's Warner Bros CEO 💀)

So in conclusion, this episode was just

pure bliss, I liked the characters evolution, I liked the themes, it was thrilling yet a funny break and quite a relief after the whole Citadel ptsd.

"Look, I want to be a good dad, okay?": not only all characters are changing in sync with Rick, they are changing to be the best versions of themselves.

Sex is gross: it's the second episode this topic pops out. Sex is gross so be a clone is better and cleaner, while being a human and having regular sex is weird and messy. Maybe this is how love is, weird and messy. I really dunno where this is going, but this is definitely a recurring theme.

__________________Sus stuff/interesting details___________________

The timeline: I’m more and more convinced that the “Rick Experiment” is the tv show we are all watching, and it’s a simulation (I will make a sus post abt this sus topic sooner or later). The weird thing with this episode is time, as real life time passes following a tv show rhythm. In a couple of seconds almost a year has passed because a cut-scene started, affecting all the characters out of the scene: in fact everyone was stuck in spring break, not only Summer. Everyone is exhausted and it's like their parents virtually stop existing, since no one came to pick them up, as long as the cut scene lasted... The interesting part is that other characters apart from Rick are kinda becoming aware of that…?

Like Beth. And Morty is starting to understand and to accept that there are "off-screens" scenes, just like a Truman-like person, born and raised in a Trumanshow would do, without asking anything abt it...? cool ✌🏼

The Immortal Bunny Spirit: okay this is a huge hint to the lore. If you played Pocket Mortys you know that the One True Morty evolves from some kind of magical Egg. So this parallelism basically explains to us that the egg contains the Immortal Morty Spirit, and that's why there's an entire religion about that thing. Aaand the one True Morty is also veeery sex related so these two cults have a lot in common.

The house reference: it's very sus that Alien Christ's house is an exact gothic replica of Rick's house and that he was gone for 20 years traveling across the stars, just like Rick did, and him realizing that all that mattered in the end was just making love to his wife, just like Rick did... I actually cannot connect the dots yet, but there's surely something I'm missing abt it. sus 👀 and btw I want to live here, I want this house to be my home 😭😭

Helluva Boss Agere Headcanons!

A/N: This is only part one, and for this part I’m just doing my favorite characters. But I’ll do more characters in separate parts!

Characters: Blitzø, Moxxie, STRIKER!!! (MY FAV 💗💗💗)

BLITZØ-

Flip, with a little lean!! He’s mostly an age regressor, he needs some way to let out all that trauma and stress. His little ages are about 4-6.

He is VERY chaotic when he’s regressed, like even more so than usual. He’ll run around the IMP HQ, jumping on furniture, leaving his toys everywhere, etc.

Moxxie and Millie are his main caregivers, actually! He loves Stolas, even though he’d never admit it, but he doesn’t trust him enough at the moment to tell him something that vulnerable about himself.

When he’s a caregiver, he’s not really a suitable dad caregiver. He’s more like a silly, chaotic older brother or the uncle that’s fresh out of jail.

He likes to spoil littles, he thinks it’s cute when their faces light up and they start giggling.

Thinks it’s super funny to help littles prank their caregivers. He does this even when he himself is regressed too.

Like. Imagine Little!Blitzø hanging out with Moxxie’s and Millie’s little or something. That would be so chaotic pls.

He LOVES coloring, and he hangs his own drawings up himself. He draws horses a lot. He also gives some of the stuff he draws to his friends and caregivers.

MOXXIE-

Controversial opinion, but flip with a cg lean!! He’s responsible enough to be a caregiver, and he wants kids himself one day so this is good practice he thinks. He does regress sometimes in order to relieve some stress.

He does well with littles of all ages, but he finds that baby regressors are surprisingly the easiest! They aren’t hyper and chaotic like a lot of toddler or kid regressors. He just has to feed them, give them attention, make sure their hygiene is good, etc and it’s fine!

He’ll play his guitar and sing little songs! Maybe while Millie dances around and helps tell stories or sings with him or something.

Him and Millie do everything together, which includes taking care of a little, so if you ask Moxxie to be your caregiver, that’s going to include Millie as well.

He’s actually one of the best people to play pretend with, surprisingly enough. Like it takes him a while to get used to it and he’s not too good at making stuff up on the spot, but when he gets into it, he gets INTO IT.

When he’s little, he also still likes to sing and play his guitar.

He reads kids books a lot or those small little science books for kids.

Or books about history for kids.

He is a nerd. And I love that. Me too, Moxxie.

His caregiver is Millie, of course. And he CLINGS to her when he’s regressed, like hardcore clings. Will not let go of her and has to be at least holding her hand at all times.

STRIKER-

Okay I have a feeling this one is gonna be long. He’s my absolute favorite and I love him so so so so so so so so so so much.

I may or may not have the fattest crush on him.

ANYWAYS

Caregiver! He had absolutely no clue what age regression was before you told him about it, and it took him a while for him to warm up to the idea.

Like it took him a fat minute for him to fully process what it is.

He feels bad when he realizes you do it because of trauma, though.

Like…you had a bad childhood??? You were abused??? Do you want him to like…kill your parents for you…?

Cuz he will. You know he will.

You’re like the only person he feels any amount of sympathy for. It may take him awhile to get used to it, but when he does…MAN.

This guy is clingy and overprotective. If he notices you’re slipping at any time throughout the day, you’re immediately being carried or you have to hold his hand TIGHT for the rest of the day. He knows you’re vulnerable, and he knows it’s very dangerous in hell; obviously, it’s hell. And he wants to keep an eye on you at all times.

The first time you called him “dada”, he blushed. Not because of anything weird but because. Wow. You trust him and love him like that? Like…you care about him and see him as your protector? …Woah.

It takes him a bit to get used to parental nicknames, but he likes it nonetheless!

Does pretty much the same with any type of regressors, but because I’m projecting, I’m gonna say he likes the dependency of baby regressors.

He likes being leaned on and trusted and relied on. And when you’re regressed so deep like that, you need help with a lot of things, and he’ll do them for you.

Feels bad because he can’t be around a lot. He’s got an important and demanding job that he’s absolutely not letting a little baby like you witness.

Reviewing Every Husband in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma

I married them all! And ranked them by the following things:

Quality of bond quests

Confession: was it cute? or boring?

Resolution: How much therapy do they still need when you marry them

Cooking/combat: These I didn't weigh too high but still it's nice to useful food and have a useful combat partner

Post-marriage dialogue: there sadly isn't too much to do after marriage besides this

Behavior: Most of these generally follow you and your children to whatever village you're in

Romantic hangout reactions: initial reactions to embrace, holding hands, pat head. Make sure you record them you won't see them again on the same save :( even if you romance them again Some spoilers but I'll keep it somewhat vague. Starting from worst to best. Interestingly, my favs Murasame and Ikaruga weren't the highest ranked, I just like them despite their flaws.

Subaru: Thanks I hate it. He comes across as bitter and immature in his bond quests and after marriage he's the only one that doesn't follow you. He probably needs MANY years of therapy. If you like the Subaru/Kaguya pairing, then just play as Subaru. He also can't hit anything in combat to save his life.

Kai: He's so funny I love him but you don't resolve any of his issues and a lot of the post marriage dialogue is scolding him for drinking too much. His bond quests are funny but not that romantic. That said, he does tank well in combat in my experience, so you can let him just take a bunch of aggro, which he deserves considering his behavior. Also, yes he continues to wear his mask to bed, meeting your child for the first time after birth, etc. and the only option to remove it is as a battle party member.

Ikaruga: Ugh I unexpectedly love him, his post marriage dialogue has some really sweet conversations. I love how blushy he is, very much the Dylas type. That said A LOT of negative points for some weird stuff in the hangouts...like MC why would you EVER SAY ANY OF THAT to your boyfriend? Also while he does seem to grow as a character, he still seems a bit lost, maybe because it also feels like some of his content got cut in the main story. He also talks so much about his growth that you start to doubt it. That said his cooking is so useful, he's great in combat (unless you're fighting something dark element), and he can be really cute.

Mauro: He's really cute I wish there wasn't the whole faux Italian thing. I don't think either of his VAs ever spoke Italian before. That said, there isn't anything deep or interesting about him, so he kinda just ends up in the middle. I also feel like he has some issues with his family that are never addressed and his career is very silly.

Murasame: I think he really suffers from a. talking about training too much b. the tone of his initial bond quests that have quite a dark story but it's handled as something a bit silly? But I LOVE his hangouts and he says really adorable things after marriage. In combat he misses about as much as Subaru and his cooking is mid, but as a guy who is adorable and hangs out with his kids on the beach he's top tier.

Kurama: The modern gamer thing is not my fav, it's a bit too silly. That said, I love his hangouts and his confession is my fav of all of them. Combat-wise he's very useful even if his attack sometimes obscures visibility. I just wish he didn't have SO MUCH gaming related dialogue.

Cuilang: He's really top tier in every aspect, especially with his bond quests. His story is very unique, he's really sweet, his hangouts are adorable. The only downside is his post marriage dialogue is only OK IMHO. Fubuki: Cuilang and him were neck in neck since they both have excellent and unique bond quests as well as adorable hangouts, but I think the cuteness of Fubuki's wedding scenes really elevated him for me. Also he's more useful in combat than Cuilang in my experience and his cooking is better.

1. American! Southern girl, specifically.

2. You’d think it would be green with how it’s been my hair color for three years, and I’ve made it my signature on here, but it’s actually yellow! Like the really saturated, sunny kind! 💛

3. Oh lord. Um, since like 1st or 2nd grade.

4. I never really thought about it. I think I’m just a visual person. So if I have an idea, I need to get it on paper to really see it. I’m the same with movies, especially adaptations. I could never picture characters by reading them in books very well, but seeing them in movies I’m like, “oh okay, now I see what they were going for!” It’s also just fun. It’s my own story-telling method.

5. Fav piece of anything I’ve ever made would be one of my stained glass pieces, like my lemon one, that took me three weeks, and was one of my first bigger pieces. Digitally it would probably be my most recent dtiys cause I just don’t like looking at my older stuff.

6. Noooo!! I have so many, especially recently, that I’ve been gifted! I can’t choose just one!!! Seriously! I love everything I’ve ever been sent! I will say, I’ve been gifted a few fan fictions by now, that have had me like, mind blown—just because writing is such a thing that I’ve always admired and never really been able to fully grasp. If you’ve sent me art, it’s more than likely been my phone or iPad wallpaper, and if you’ve sent me fanfiction, I’ve probably read it no less than five times, and will continue to go back to it.

7. I mean, it’s Donnie. It’s pretty clearly Donnie. I try and be fair and love all the boys equally, but I’m not gonna lie, you all know it. It’s obvious. Just know, I’ll never ignore the others story wise 😜. But Donnie gets the most of my attention and my evil creative plots 😈.

8. Any world ever? Probably Fullmetal Alchemist—if I could actually be an alchemist. I mean, like come on—how cool is that? And like, yeah, you’ve got Father and the homucuous running around, but for the most part, the world is pretty chill and has the coolest rules.

9. The main chunks of my stories are really just what I want to see, but sometimes I can hear a suggestion and think about changing the trajectory of things. I’m always open to ideas, especially if I’m stumped on how it should go. I even change my opinions on the things I’ve established myself, I’m very open to changing a story if a better idea comes to me. I don’t think I’ve ever been like, scared to tell something because I think someone wouldn’t like it. If they don’t, that’s fine, not everything is for everyone, and some things only click with a few people. If I really want to tell a story, then I’m going to tell it.

10. It’s really so funny, because at the time, I was working on this short, post-movie aftermath comic about Leo learning to find a healthy middle ground between being the silly guy and a serious leader. But I was having trouble with the next part, so I decided to watch Arcane and doodle. I posted that little concept sheet, and it feels like…within days my inbox was full with people wanting to know more, and the more I answered, the more I was like, wait I wanna actually explore this. Tbh pretty much all my AUs have started this way. With just an idea jotted down, and then turning into something I couldn’t stop developing.

I think I realized what my issue with Randall's portrayal in MAW is

The fact that everything that Randall does in MAW is played for laughs

Compare that to MI where Randall's actions are taken very seriously by the narrative and played for drama.

Other than at the very end where Boo hits him with a baseball bat and the Trailer lady hitting him with a shovel, Randall has almost no scenes where the audience is supposed to *intentionally* make us laugh

This was a good thing because it showed how much of an actual menace Randall was. Someone who was meant to be taken seriously as a threat

In MAW? Everything he does, there's a literal joke there. "Chet-wetter", calling everyone a "Loser", him getting hit with slime, him being electrocuted, etc...

It's really hard to take him seriously as a threat because of how much slapstick comedy he has here. He menace is completely gone

when they first announced maw i was actually nervous about what would happen if randall came back, to the point where i didn't even want him to because i was scared that the show would desicrate his character. obviously i'm actually VERY happy he made an apperance again, and though he actually turned out being much better than i was anticipating for, (i was anticipating the worst) they kinda nerfed him

now as a kid when i first watched MI, randall was my fav immediately going into the movie; i was never actually scared of randall and was with him the whole time (i did NOT support the scream extractor and obviously wanted boo to be safe, i just didn't want to watch him lose or get hurt ya know) but even though i loved him so much, i remember that some of the scenes would "scare me" in the sense that i would still be like "oh randall's a legit bad guy"

like the scene when he twists mike's arms and when he called sulley STUPID PATHETIC WASTE really gave kid me a sense of just how evil and threatening he is (i'm sure the fact that "stupid" was basically a swear word to me at the time also contributed 💀)

and yes randall being hit on the head by boo and the shovel lady being made to be funny makes sense since it's his defeat scene and wouldn't be taken as seriously (these scenes actually traumatized me as a kid bc i had such an attachment to randall ⚰️⚰️) but i will say that randall did actually have some funny scenes leading up to this moment, which i think just shows how great of a villian randall is if he can still be funny and entertaining while at the same time being recognized as a dangerous threat

i think his defeat may have also suffered from the fact that he was basically reintroduced and defeated in a short time frame and he didn't have much time to make a huge impact as he could've. like it kinda felt like johnny was the big bad villain and randall was just his sidekick, which sucks because randall was such a fantastic impressionable villain in mi, even with the addition of waternoose also being there as a villain. though i enjoyed every moment he was onscreen, i feel his treatment in maw left so much more to be desired. tbh i don't think any other monsters media could ever recreate how great randall was in mi

but yeah tbh his goofy treatment in season 2 was what i was expecting from maw for randall. i'm all for randall being funny, i think he certainly likes messing around and having fun from time to time, and i think that side of him is underrated, but they don't balance it out and give him compelling scenes like they did in mi. also in mi his scenes were ordered in a way to become generally less silly and more sinister as the movie progressed, uncovering more of his true nature. not just a mischievous competitive jerk, but a monster willing to kidnap and harm children to one-up his long time rival. in maw, you can't really take him as seriously. his defeat included silly elements and phrasing, and his insults just feel so generic. like him calling mike a one-eyed cretin in mi is so much more fun than just hearing him say loser 3x

you would think he'd be more off the deep end after the events of mi. especially with mike and sulley even MORE successful than the last time he saw them, you'd think he'd go apeshit but yeah to me at least the way he mentions mike and sulley during his monologue severely undermine how much hatred he has for them

though i will say, i do like that his monologe where he spills his plan showed that he was still clever and cunning, and i also like that he's still violent like he was in mi and put up a good fight against maw since he was shown to have some pretty good combative skills. he wasn't as murderous as he was in mi but i don't expect him to be towards mift since randall doesn't have a personal vendetta against them like he does with sulley. the writers made it so randall escaped so they hopefully have much more in store for him. disney didn't treat randall like some complete pathetic loser or redeem him in a dumb way or anything so i'll give them that. but disney television studios definitely held him back and i still believe that if pixar wrote maw they'd give him something more compelling. i just hope he gets to shine more in maw season 3 and gets a more major role, especially since he'll probably be interacting with mike and sulley, who he very much has a personal vendetta against

Hey wasn't sure if my ask was eaten because Internet annoyances, if not just ignore the other one the wording is better here.

I love this game a lot! I love the characters and the story and the different themes you can explore on the different tracks and the way they all connect. I love the stat building and the games and puzzling things out to get the best results. I really like stat builders I can predict, and the one here stikes the perfect balance for me between difficult and predictable. The little interaction where MC breaks the lock is amazing, so small but sets the tone so well. My fav is Rayyan (I'm weak for grumps with hearts of gold) and that's partly because I love the mc I made my first run I did with him so much (I've replayed them a couple of times with slight adjustments to get it just right). His name is Juno, and he's small, scary fast and precise, and can always read the game. He's sweet and a little silly and crazy dedicated to tennis with passion that Rayyan really brings out in him. His relationship with Sam (ginger solidarity!) is also so sweet to me, and in my world they used to play on the girls tennis team together. To me, the fact that Juno is small and trans in tennis is something that's critical to his story and how he connects, because it's so difficult and crazy with gender in sports. It's his drive, the idea that he isn't a failure, and can be as good (or better! He's beat a lot of people and completed the devil's dozen, the boy is awesome with a racket) as anyone else something I really associate with him. The core of my question is how much is the story going to react to mc being trans, and how much of that will be explored? You said queerness in sports will be explored, but will that be more focused on the romances? Sorry if someone already asked that, just wanted to know (and ramble about my little guy)

I loved reading about Juno, thanks for sharing! I love the idea of Sam and Juno playing on the girl’s team together in high school, and MC navigating a different world (not just in terms of being in a different place/college) but also playing on the men’s team.

I want to explore trans / queerness in sports, but that said I am wary, particularly for the trans route, how many nuances/ different life-routes (e.g. trans MC transitioning as a child? Later in life, closer to what you mentioned? Going through surgery? Hormone therapy or no?) that I’m not entirely sure if I’d be able to explore it in the depth that would be required without also closing out other options that readers may want to be able to decide for themselves (e.g. in headcaon). So, I’m still deciding how much to delve into at this point, but I do want to have the story react to it in some way, at least.

As for queerness, definitely explored through the romance routes, but I think also as comments / interactions with other teams/colleges, won’t be big, but maybe a scene or two.

I def have some fav moments from the prologue though! Like Watari and Kamimura being sassy in their interviews, oh and [Student Eleven]'s probably my favorite of student introduction eps because Tsuno was so fun and sillly I miss herrr

So I’m very autistic about music and I loved how succession made Kendall’s music taste have so much character and be so accurate to who he is and who he thinks he is, which made me start thinking about the other siblings listening to music. I just cannot imagine it. I can’t imagine Roman putting on his little AirPod and opening up a Spotify playlist or putting on posters in his room for a certain thing. The idea of shiv being into drill and grime is extremely funny to me. I think connor tells Alexa to put on slow old Spanish ballads blasting (at an appropriate volume) through every floor of his desert house and Willa wears noise cancelling headphones constantly. I just can’t decide if Roman has an obscenely normal man music taste (like what plays in gyms) or if he actually cares about music. And then I listened to horse foreplay again and I need to make a playlist for it so basically: what do you think Roman would listen to?

kendall’s music taste is central to his character, we all know what ken’s taste is (or at least i think we do, i have seen some very funny “ken listens to this” mixes. they should resemble the intern-curated obama end-of-year picks LOL). shiv i have no idea about, but i wouldn’t be surprised if she had some appreciation for whatever dad liked if dad ever bothered to point something out. i don’t think she listens to florence + the machine though be serious you guys just see a girl with red hair…………….

my personal read on roman’s whole Deal is that he has the least “life of his own” of the siblings. even his reputation / the rumors about him (that he’s a playboy who loves coke) are the least accurate to his actual behavior and preferences (esp when contrasted with ken’s public takedowns which hurt his feelings precisely Because they’re often true). it’s difficult for me to imagine roman having strong personal taste in….. pretty much anything, even when he sees his choices symbolically (“i want steak” speech in america decides). in the end, roman is most interested in cultivating an image of himself that is going to be the most protective of his true desire for authenticity and connection, but we know that he has no idea what to do with himself when he is confronted with an opportunity to actually “express himself”.

all this to say, it is very difficult for me to imagine roman sincerely enjoying music/art without a level of detachment, irony, or jokey judgement. if he likes certain sounds, i couldn’t see him singing along like kendall in the backseat. maybe a handful of songs are nostalgic for him, maybe some post-hardcore (…. fugazi….. honestly……) or even MAYBE some britpop or eurodance from the european half of his childhood. he wouldn’t allow himself true sentimentality with it though. he certainly knows all of the lyrics to a few songs bc he’s very In the World, esp culturally impactful songs, but he just seems like a guy who fucking hates bohemian raphsody. he knows who the pinball wizard is but i can viscerally feel his frown at hearing the baba o’reilly opener in a shop. he simply would never admit to loving a band, let alone buy a t-shirt! (i think i get a little annoyed generally with assumptions about roman that cast him as even a little bit twee just because he’s silly. look at how he actually dresses. this man would not paint his nails or have a charm on his phone. you’re thinking of kieran culkin!)

It seems like everyone likes the "Power, I said! I might even wreck a train or two--just these fingers around a signalman's throat, that's all." It's very popular and also... just very good at showing his state at the moment!

And then the whole "I hope your car's insured, Kemp. I'm afraid there's going to be a nasty accident in a minute. A very nasty accident... You will? That's fine. Just sit where you are. I'll get out and take the handbrake off and give you a little shove to help you on. You'll run gently down and through the railings, then you'll have a big thrill for a hundred yards or so 'til you hit a boulder, then you'll do a somersault and probably break your arms, then a grand finish up with a broken neck! He'd do so well as a Doofenshmirtz-type villain that has wacky monologues but doesn't actually die. I'd pay money to watch a TV show where he got to do that, actually

I also really like when he realizes Kemp is in the study (HE'S SO MUCH LIKE MY CAT THERE FOR REAL). Messing with the door and the little step in. I love it. And leading into when he realizes there's a car coming and is like "oh. you called the cops." before Kemp explains that it's Flora and Doctor Cranley. And he goes calm like a cat being held by the scruff of his neck.

"We are partners. Bosom friends!" said so ominously. Beautiful line delivery. No notes.

"Here's your blooming bicycle."

"Don't stare at me, you fool. Look in front of you. Come on! Get a move on!

"Had to take some exercise to keep warm. Killed a stupid little policeman. Smashed his head in."

Him getting all comfy for bed. Taking off the sunglasses and the robe and bandages and just being a CREATURE. I don't know why--I really like the practical effects in the movie, and this really shows it well, I guess! Also the little tiny bounce on the bed that he does there is really fun

Fop: a new wish Tword headcanons!

Because, once again, hyperfixation lol. In this is Dev, Hazel, Cosmo +Wanda, and Peri, in that order. (long post)

Dev (I love this silly lil guy)

-he is def a lee, although he likes twording ppl as well.

-he didn’t know until after he got really introduced to it(he always knew what it was and kinda what it felt like, but never really experienced it that much.) but he really likes being tworded. [don’t worry man, same 🙏]

-his death spot (and coincidentally, his favorite spot to be tworded) is his tummy!

-his laugh is the happiest sounding giggle you’ve ever heard. This laugh is so bouncy and bubbly and sweet. It’s the kind of laugh that you just know whoever’s producing it is having the time of their life.

-Whenever he’s tworded he stims, usually with flappi by his hands or little kicks. However, he never seems to try and get away.

-very easily flustered, both by the fact that he’s ticklish and that he likes it. however he can say the tword with ease(unlike me)

-would try to hold off his laugh but fail miserably

-he is weak to raspberries and tword games, but as much as he likes to deny it he loves them.

-after being introduced to twords, he gets lee moods, and the first one he ever got he did not understand. ‘Why do I feel all buzzy? Why do I want to be tickled?!’ Peri was happy to explain and assist (probs gonna write a fic of this one)

-Now, when it comes to being the ler, Dev is an absolute little shit.

-he likes to tword others, both because it’s fun for him and because he likes seeing others laugh. (He will tell you it’s just the first one. That it’s fun for him to make other ppl powerless)

-He’s pretty new to the whole thing, so he’s not super good at it yet, but he’s trying, and getting better!

Hazel

-She is a ler leaning switch!

-she loves to start tword fights and absolutely loves it as a bonding experience.

-Her laugh is very wheezy, but don’t worry she’s fine.

-her worst spot is her ribs

-She doesn’t actually squirm all too much, kinda just goes limp.

-she is immune to visual teases after the twords start, because as soon as she starts getting tworded she shuts her eyes.

-Hazel loves to use twords as a way to cheer up her friends. (Although she tends to leave Jazz out of it since she’s afraid of being tworded)

-she is not shy about her love of twords at all. She’s very open about it.

-I didn’t come up with this one,(that award goes to my mootie @randommusicalfluff) but after finding out Dev is twordish, she absolutely gets him any time he’s being pretentious or pushing people away.

-she uses baby talk. And lots of it. A fave of hers is definitely to just repeat the tword over and over again in a teasy voice.

Cosmo + Wanda

-putting them together cause they’re basically a package deal.

-both of them are even switches.

-they love to team up, but also love to get into tword fights with eachother.

-sometimes after a tword fight they’ll have a cuddle sesh and watch a movie

-Cosmo’s worst spot is his wings, and his laugh is very funny, and kinda high pitched.

-Wanda’s worst spot is her armpits, and her laugh is kinda rough but very sweet sounding.

-they will use their magic to their advantage in a tword fight, or when lering as a whole.

Peri (my fav boi!!)

-he’s a ler but he likes being tworded too.

-his worst spot his also his tummy (him and his godkid have something in common that way.)

-when he’s tworded he squirms but mostly just curls into a ball. Most of his movements are in his wings, which usually flutter around rapidly.

-his laugh is very smooth, but also very frantic sounding. And it can get very loud.

-Now, as you’ve probably gathered, Peri loves to tword Dev. Especially to cheer him up. He just loves to see his godkid happy.

-he has a ridiculously good sense of when someone is in a lee mood. He just knows

-he loves to make a game out of it, and is overall a very silly ler

-the more he can make someone laugh the better he feels.

-hasn’t thought about using his magic before, until he sees his parents do it.

BUT RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! THE ADDED LAYERS OF THIS DYNAMIC IS SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD. I’m so glad you mentioned this because I didn’t quite notice it as an added bit of their dynamic, but they both, as the should go, got a little bit of what they’ve wanted!!!! Which is really charming that they both kinda stay stubborn in their ways, regressing or simply doubling down respectively, and then actually both grow a little bit by the end! While obviously they should progress (or land somewhere other than where they’ve started until that’s another point/purpose), it’s just a charming detail they did get something, by actually dropping the delusion/confronting a bit of who they are and what things are actually like in reality.
