One of the funny twst headcanons that’s been stuck in my head lately is the appetite of diasomnia and how it might differ from the humans in their lives.

We all know about Sebek’s appetite. It’s mentioned over and over again and he’s always surprised at how little MC eats. Added with the fact he’s training to be a knight.

But I also like to think that the other three eats more than the average do too.

Malleus and his constant use of magic and any training he might need to go through would need the nutrients. He is magic itself so I imagine his consumption of food especially sugar related items are high.

There’s Lilia who’s always keeping in tip top shape and training the boys. Who does push ups everyday. Who’s able to keep up with Malleus even now. Who might have had food insecurity before but doesn’t now is able to eat more.

Silver, while a human, is stupidly strong. The constant being squished mentions in book 7 clearly emphasizes that. Along with the fact that he’s also a knight in training.

So I can imagine them all having at least 3-4 plates of food on the table for each.

And then we have our very normal human Papa Zigvolt and our MC eating their meals. Maybe 1 or 2 plates at most while all the fae around them eats enough for a crowd.

I just find the idea very endearing and cute 😂💞

Vere Doing Fox Things

Because if you give a Rosie an animal/animal adjacent character, he’s going to want some behavior to go with it.

This is gonna be more conversational than my other headcanon posts, which probably isn’t saying much considering those posts’ tone. Likes and reblogs appreciated as always!

But yeah, man. I think Vere laughs like a fucking maniac. Like he hears one joke that hits him in just the right spot and he’s barking laughing with his eyes squeezed shut and this real wide smile that shows off all his teeth. It’s either deathly contagious, causing the laughter to fan out across whatever group he might find himself in, or it makes people get nervous because Holy Shit, Those Fangs Are Crazy!

Also the fox sounds carry over to some of the most benign things. Like he gets some dust up his nose and sneezes so hard it sounds like a bark. He’s especially sensitive about that sound so like… go forth and tease him within an inch of his life, it’s payback time.

Also also if, heavens forbid, someone steps or something lands on his tail he 1000% lets out that alarm bark/scream foxes do. Then he gets all defensive again because like. Ow.

Like most animals, fox kits will play fight with each other as practice when they’re tiny and I think it’d actually be really easy to goad Vere into a fight now that he’s an adult, but it might be hard to tip him off to the level of force he’s supposed to be using. You know how sometimes you’ll be wrastling with a puppy and out of nowhere it like Actually Bites You? That happens once or twice and Vere barely feels bad about it when it does—

His ears are really expressive, as we’ve seen already, and building off that I think they’re like. Constantly moving in busy environments. Like he’s flicking from noise to noise all around him trying to keep track of who’s saying what and where. Whatever kind of life he’s had before he meets us justifies a little caution, don’t you think? And as a consequence I think he gets auditory sensory overload really easily and that makes him especially crabby.

Ending on a high note, he’s got BNE, or Big Nuzzling Energy. Once he’s comfy with a person and it’s just the two of you, you can bet your sweet ass he’s cramming his whole face in whatever divot he can get, whether that’s your shoulder, chest, waist, you name it. Also he’s the reigning champ of building pillow nests and diving into them so consider your bedclothes’ days fucking numbered.

hey could you do a ramattra x mechanic reader who has their own clinic for omnics, relationship headcanons

ive seen this pairing so much it’s a cliche now i think but i still love it

Ramattra does his own upgrades on himself. He designed and installed most of his equipment, appearance alterations, and his Nemesis form, all by himself. He doesn’t approve of anyone making replacements, regardless of it being a human, omnic, or cyborg.

But he would not be able to make this decision for much longer. In an attack out at sea, a ship was sunk along with him in it. Metal does not float, and he was not equipped with any device to assist him. This left him sitting like a rock at the bottom of the ocean inside the wreckage, the water shorting him out and leaving him lifeless.

Luckily a coastal rescue team was able to find him in the wreckage, and he was hauled away to your shop to get him back into working conditions.

He was put on a stretcher and slid onto your workshop table, covered in seaweed and smelling of fishy water. The salt water corroded at his metallic form, and his clothing was soaked and torn up.

“How do you expect me to get him back online?” You yelled in frustration at the rescue team. “Put it in rice?” One commented sarcastically.

“He’s not a phone, you dumbass! Oh, give me some space, come back in a few days.”

Parts were disassembled, some were handed off to an apprentice to be restored, and you worked on the electrical aspects for the most part. You noticed parts on his model that had been enhanced and added on to, a synchronized display of his own design and style within every feature. You worked around his modifications, and did the best that you could for him.

You admired the work of his tech, it was creative in ways you hadn’t thought of, and well calculated. The workmanship on the extra arms, the way that his metal was layered so it could expand to this second form, it was very interesting and impressive. You wanted to ask how he’d done it, and if he’d be interested in working on others with you in the future.

A week had passed, and you had to ask for extra time because you were waiting on a delivery for more parts to work with.

He was finally awakened, and you made sure to create a comforting place for him to find himself in. He was slow at first, a finger twitching, lifting his hand, moving his leg, then trying to sit up. “Good morning! Are you finding yourself in working order? Everything okay?” You greet from your seated position.

He seems confused, startled even as his optics graze over his shining metal form, his fingers clutching the different cloths on his body. “I kept your old threads for you, but I’m not much of a sewing person, I could only fix you, not your clothes.” You joke a little.

He is upset at the situation, although he couldn’t help himself in his time of need, he would rather perish than be so weak to have someone else repair him. He doesn’t know if he is more upset at himself or you.

He remembers little parts of the time passed throughout his week or so spent with you. He could hear your voice while offline, listening to you mumble to yourself or sing when you thought nobody was listening. Before, he would not have chose you of all people to fix him, but he was glad it was you at the end of it all. In a way, you felt like he was already a friend without a word exchanged.

“You’ve done a very good job… I thank you.” He speaks up after looking over himself. “It was a bit of work to figure everything out,, I’m really interested in these added pieces, did you do this?”

“Yes… before this, I had been the only one to ever make my upgrades. But I think I will continue to come to you from now on.”

You spend a lot of time with him discussing his parts, and what you’d done to help him. He’s very polite and answers all those technical questions you had building up over time. He has questions for you about any changes you made, and he’s grateful that you did your best to keep his ideas intact.

You learn his name is Ramattra, and you introduce yourself as well, also giving him your card.

When he comes back, he is always looking his worst, almost like he went out of his way to destruct himself for you to fix, you hoped that he wasn’t. When you asked what happened, why he was always coming in like this, he told you the same thing- defending his people.

You sort of put the pieces together without him saying it out loud- he was the leader of Null Sector. If you could even still call it that, apparently it’s just him now after so many losses.

It was you that went out of the way to make plans outside of your workplace. You took him out to an art showing, where you would look together at the pieces made by man and omnic. There were some artists there to speak as well, and that was really the reason you wanted him to be there. He seemed to really enjoy art, appreciating the way someone could put their struggles out there to make something beautiful and meaningful. He was motivated by the speeches, and he understood the message each conveyed. The date brought you together closer, and he wants to try his hand at making things for you.

He brings you things a lot, tools, other stuff that can help you in the workshop, snacks because he likes when you describe tastes to him. He brought you a sculpture of scrap metal that he’d welded together himself. You recognized some of these pieces from the floor of the shop, and thought it was funny of him to collect them for the piece. It was shaped like a crane, and you put it right where you could see it every day. He makes you more animal statues, in time, but the crane is your favorite.

Ramattra tried showing his affection through gifts, and compliments, but he also enjoyed your touch as well. Your hands had been over every inch of him during maintenance, and it was something he could look back fondly on now. He hugs you whenever he sees you, and picks you up and carries you around sometimes. He likes to make you laugh, and he has a lot of fun when he’s around you.

You gave him a kiss against his metal cheekbone after a goodbye one night, and it ruined him. He honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it, and how to ask for more. It was probably then that it fully clicked for him on what was happening.

He would confess first, probably with hand picked flowers to offer you. He wants you to last forever with him, he wants to hear you laugh every day, and he wants your kiss every night.

He found a comfort in you that was too good not to lose, so he wants to keep you. He hopes that you feel just as affectionate as him, that you will give him a chance to really show you. He’s never had such a relationship before, it’s difficult to show you his love without human aspects, but he doesn’t have to convince you, you already love him just as much.

tl;dr a theory/headcanon on why halfas are so powerful

I AM USING MARIE KONDO STANDARDS: IF CANON DOES NOT SPARK JOY, I THROW IT OUT!

Alive and dead; that is the thing that sets halfas apart. And honestly, why would that make them more powerful? If anything, being half-human should make them weaker, unable to take more hits without dire consequences. However, I propose this: 1) Halfas are so powerful because the human side of them allows them to change.

Ghosts are by nature set in their ways. Their identity will always orbit around the person who they were when they die and to try and be someone else is just as damaging to a ghost as being unable to do their Obsession. It's feasible for a short while, but an extended period will hurt them. This means that powers that are locked behind being compatible identity-wise will forever be out of their reach. An electricity core ghost trying to learn to make fire? Forget it! A shadow core ghost attempting to learn temporal manipulation? Ridiculous! But halfas' identities are still changing! They can grow and become someone else outside of who they were when they died. And like all living persons, they can shove themselves into being someone they are not with a lot less damage than a ghost. So a halfa like Vlad, who has a fire core, pulling on the manic energy and restlessness of a lightning core long enough to make ectoplasmic lighting is on the table. The sheer amount of different powers that Danny learns is a by-product of this. 2) Halfas can rely on their human half to do things that full ghosts cannot do, the most powerful of which is the Ghostly Wail. Remembering their death is one of the worst things a ghost can do. They are after all creatures that spawned from the dying wish of a person to stay alive just a little longer, please! Ectoplasm is highly sensitive to emotions and they are made of it, so remembering your death is basically going through it again, pain included.

But halfas are also made of flesh and blood. The brain can go through extremely traumatizing experiences and still keep functioning. Ghost-speak (or at least the version of ghost-speak analyzed by @sinorim-pisani in their linguistic anthropology post) is feeling made sound, radiated out by a ghost's core. The Ghostly Wail is a halfa screaming all of their emotions, their memories, the intrinsic experience of dying out for every ghost to hear.

Remembering death hurts for a ghost, badly enough that the Wail shoving the experience of dying right at them would End most ghosts on the spot. But halfas can remember their death, can face it without Ending, and can force other ghosts to re-live it through ghost-speak, even if it still hurts the halfa. Those reasons are why halfas are in a league of their own.

there's something so nice about the idea of davos falling in love deep with someone who he's supposed to utterly hate. the knowledge that he can't stop how he feels, the feeling that he is fighting against a runaway train. the idea that he's so helpless against this knowledge. but when he does finally admit it and give in, he can be sooo passionate. i can totally see him as just... hungry for love. he gets a hit of it and he's addicted.

​I’m thinking again about Astarions sexuality and how I've seen some people (to be fair, just a few) talk about it. Mainly, people pointing out his flamboyant behavior, and that us as players are learning more about his past male lovers than female ones and basically all these things for some people pointing to him being gay or at least not interested in women in the same way he is in men. And him only being a romance option regardless of gender, because, well, all companions are and he is therefore just "playersexual", only showing interest in female player characters because he has to, because of the game mechanics.

I think what really rubs me the wrong way about this topic is that it echoes the kind of things bi/pan people (speaking as a bisexual woman myself) find themselves dealing with irl. Whether through some form of internalized biphobia or from the outside through other people's comments. Of course this is about a fictional character so it’s not like he has any feelings that could be hurt. But when i see people tallying up how often he mentions men vs. how often he mentions women it really reminds me of a way of thinking I sometimes fall into in regards to my own sexuality. This is definitely just an internalized response and not something I actually believe when I truly think about it for a second, but I know these patterns of thought very well. Of observing my own behavior. How often do I find which gender attractive? Am I attracted "enough" to women? Do I talk about men's attractiveness too often? Is it the other way around? Am I only saying this woman is attractive to prove something to myself? I literally have a girlfriend and my attitude towards mine or other's sexual orientation is generally a huge big "whatever, I don't care". And I still have a passing thought like that from time to time.

So seeing people talk about a fictional character in this way really sends home how many people (whether consciously or unconsciously) see attraction as some sort of equation, you can solve, where in the end you get a result of either gay or straight.

(This is just a fun “what if” so bear with me-) I know we make mention of the potential for Krang remnants to be stuck with Raph and/or Donnie, but Mikey and Leo also had a moment with the other two where a type of Krang goop was crawling beneath their skin (this being immediately after Raph broke free.)

So I raise you the potential for all four of them to have a bit of that Krang parasite on them…and for that to have unforeseen consequences.

I said this in tags on another post, but it’s relevant and deserves its own post (I should be reading my usual pre- sleeping fic selection, BUT! I had this revelation -being sleepy is useful once again! -)

They NEEDED Steve to disappear, to be gone. To never care about Bucky anymore. That way they could treat Bucky as they see fit, and that means treating him like shit.

Steve would NEVER accept or allow Bucky to make amends, he would NEVER let the government take care of Bucky or be part of his “rehabilitation” in any way shape or form. That’s why he became Nomad, that’s why Bucky stayed in Wakanda. He would had fight with teeth and nails for Bucky.

“He died already more than once! He was a victim! A prisoner of war. He saved the fucking universe. What the fuck do you mean with amends!”

He became a wanted criminal for that same reason, to not let them have Bucky (nor other people in a fucking watchlist)

They needed Steves relationship with Bucky to become bitter, to be nothing more than a memory.

Steve being in retirement wouldn’t have cut it and…

Bucky was always going to follow Steve, no matter what.

So they needed him to stay alone (or with a companion that didn’t really care as much as Steve, enter Sam)

This way they killed two birds with one stone in Endgame: Reinforcing Steves “love” for Peggy, because “he’s NOT gay, you guys!”, and the partial isolation of Bucky.
