The Prince and the Dragon Rider - Part Two: Tempest
Jacaerys Velaryon x dragon rider!reader
Summary: Princess Rhaenyra leads you across the fortress of Dragonstone to reunite with your dragon but the journey becomes more complicated as the night goes on.
Warnings: mentions of blood
soundtrack
part one: the oath
part three: the dawn
part four: the test
part five: precipice
part six: pieces and players
part seven: the rift
The night you left the Pentosi coast, you had no idea what kind of life waited for you across the Narrow Sea but you knew it would be far better than the one you were leaving behind.
More than half of your lifetime and the whole of your dragon's had been spent on the run or hidden away in seaside caves. The known world held many dangers especially for a child. You learned far too quickly however, that your greatest danger was starvation. With no coin to your name and little strength to hunt, you were forced to travel along the coast, learning to fish for both you and your dragon. She had acquired such a taste for fish that even after she had taken flight, she still favored fish over livestock, choosing to scavenge upon fishing vessels.
Once she had grown too large to poach stealthily, she learned to dive below the water for larger prey, hunting what was drawn in by those same fishing boats. Even with this new hunting strategy, sightings of her dark shape beneath the surface could not be avoided, causing the two of you to travel with constant caution and haste.
When the cliffs of Dragonstone first became visible on the horizon, the setting sun was disappearing behind it, making it glow orange. After a full days ride over the sea, you had assumed it was another stop on your journey. Until you saw the dragons flying overhead.
Just their silhouettes upon the darkening sky was enough cause for alarm but your dragon showed no sign of distress at the appearance of her kin. She merely dove down to fly just above the dark waves. Her black scales with sporadic streaks of white were the perfect camouflage for the choppy twilight sea. After circling the island and exploring various coves, she landed in the water, you still clinging to her neck. She gave you a quick moment to prepare a deep breath before diving below the surface.
The salt water stung your eyes as you tried to track where she was taking you but with the sunlight quickly fading, there was no hope of distinguishing your surroundings. Giving up the vain effort, you closed your eyes tight, pressing your face to the back of her head to help you concentrate on holding your breath. Just as you were about to reach your limit, she breaks the surface of a pool within a large cavern. You gasp for air and she swims to the rocky ledge of your new home.
You now find yourself on the polar opposite of your cave; sitting on a plush bed, being served hot food, within the walls of the castle of Dragonstone. Even before setting out west from Asshai, nothing you had ever experienced was as luxurious as these modest commodities.
As you take one last bite of your meal, Princess Rhaenyra stands from her seat at the window and walks towards you.
"Are you ready to go?" She says with the slightest hint of annoyance.
The Princess had offered to take you to the dragonmont to reunite with your dragon after showing you to your chambers within the servants quarters. Though she began to mirror a similar level of exhaustion as your own, she insisted on escorting you herself, seeming very intent on laying eyes on your dragon.
You nod, mouth still full of food, and rise to meet her at the door.
Due to the lateness of the hour, the walk to the dragonmont is mostly silent. Footsteps on stone and the crackle of the torches held by the two kingsguard that escort you are the only sounds that fill the air. When your party approaches the massive doors carved into the mountain, you are met by a trio of people dressed in simple robes that block the path forward.
The Princess exchanges words with the leader of the three in that same foreign tongue as in the throne room. Though the words are completely indecipherable to you, their tone gives you cause to shuffle awkwardly. Both participants gesture towards you throughout the conversation, only furthering your discomfort. They thankfully come to some agreement and move aside for you to enter. All three robed figures watch you pass by with scrutiny before returning to their posts guarding the entrance.
Lacking the courage to endure another unfriendly face, you drop your head, lifting your gaze only enough to follow the hem of the Princess's gown that just barely grazes the ground behind her. It isn't until you pass through an archway and the temperature suddenly drops that you look up to see you have entered a large cave with a platform jutting out into the darkness. The lightning outside can be seen through a large opening to the far left of the platform. It is only after a bright flash from the storm that a dark shape is illuminated at the end of the stone formation.
The kingsguard draw their blades but Rhaenyra orders them to stand down. After her command echoes throughout the vast cavern, a voice calls out from the edge.
"Mother?" It asks, before uttering, "Dracarys."
You are relieved to find familiar sight of Vermax's green scales shimmering by the firelight he emits up into the empty air above. And just below the young green dragon, now fully illuminated by his fire, stands his rider. You take an involuntary step in the Prince's direction but are quickly stopped in your tracks by the authoritative voice of Rhaenyra.
"Jacaerys!" The Princess scolds, "What are you doing here?!"
Vermax takes flight from the ledge and retreats into the abyss while Jace makes his way towards the torch light. Once his is a few short paces away, he takes notice of your face and lets out a quiet gasp before sprinting to your side. When within arms reach, he moves seemingly to embrace you but becomes aware of the curious eyes that surround the two of you. He quickly adjusts his arm to place it on your shoulder instead.
"I am glad to see you," he gives your shoulder a gentle squeeze and leans down ever so slightly to make eye contact with you. His eyebrows knit together and his face becomes serious, trying to communicate a question you can’t quite perceive before he continues, "What are you doing here?"
Inadvertently repeating the same question his mother just asked of him. She steps toward the two of you to repeat her inquiry once more but you speak before she can form the words.
"We were told Tempest was here," your voice now heavy with dread.
"She was," Jace says quickly, trying to soothe your worry, "just briefly but she was here and did not appear to be injured."
"Where has she gone?" The Princess interjects.
Jace tears his gaze from you to answer his mother but his hand lingers on your shoulder.
"I don't know. She left in quite a hurry though so l assumed she went back..." he trails off, turning back to you, unsure of how much you have revealed to his mother. You nod, encouraging him to continue. "I think she went back to their cave to look for y/n."
"How far away are we from the stairs?" You ask hastily.
"The garden is on the other side of the castle grounds but the path should be clear enough to make it there quickly," Jacaerys assures you.
The pair of you turn to Princess Rhaenyra, who quirks a brow and Jace removes his hand from your shoulder.
"Let us make haste then," she declares as she walks towards the exit, cutting right between the Prince and yourself.
Jace opens his mouth to say something to you when Rhaenyra stops suddenly and calls over her shoulder,
"Jacaerys," she turns to the side, back facing you, "walk with me."
She begins walking and Jace gives you an apologetic glance before falling into step beside his mother. You spare one more hopeful look towards the shadows, listening closely for the beat of Tempest's wings, but to no avail. The kingsguard meant to be following behind the party lets out a quiet cough and gestures towards the others. You stride quickly to catch up to them and the kingsguard follows in suit. As you approach, you hear Rhaenyra begin speaking to her son.
"You're meant to be resting," she reprimands, almost playfully, "How did you get down here?"
"I snuck out while the guards changed," he chuckles, "They weren't exactly vigilant when they were told by the maesters I was deep asleep."
The Princess shakes her head and lets out a soft snicker.
"Oh," he jests, "as if you never snuck out to the dragonpit in the middle of the night."
A smile forms on your face as you watch the imposing mask of the Princess melt away as she laughs with her son. Jace had told you many stories of his family, the love he felt for them evident as he shared with you. Witnessing it firsthand, however, was even more heartwarming.
As the company draws near to the exit, a fourth figure now stands among the guards you had encountered on the way in. The figure stands facing away but turns as your footfalls grow louder.
"I wondered where everyone had disappeared to," murmurs the unmistakable voice of Daemon Targaryen. "I worried the little thief might have escaped with hostages."
Jace makes to charge forward but is halted my his mother's arm shooting out in front of him. The mask returns to Rhaenyra's face.
"Daemon," she admonishes, "this is y/n. They have sworn fealty to our house and will do so again in front of the council on the morrow." She lets her words hang in the air for a moment before continuing, "We are escorting them to their camp to make an introduction to their dragon if you wish to join us."
She strolls past him with Jacaerys in tow, leaving the two of you face to face once more. You watch him carefully as you stand rooted to the ground.
"Y/n," Rhaenyra calls without stopping her stride, "let us hurry if we are to achieve a reasonable amount of sleep before the sun greets us."
“After you,” Daemon smirks and gestures for you to walk ahead.
You nod and give him a wide berth as you trot up behind Rhaenyra and Jacaerys, letting out a quiet sigh once the Prince Consort is a comfortable distance away. Jace quickly peeks at you from the corner of his eye but continues forward without a word.
You are led along winding passages and corridors, losing all sense of direction until you pass through a large doorway and enter the open air. The ground still wet from the torrential rain but the clouds finally receding over the sea. As you enter the overgrown remnants of Aegon's garden you hear a faint cry emanating from below.
Jace looks back at you and reaches for a torch off the column nearby. He uses the fire from the kingsguard's torch to ignite his own before stepping forward to take the lead.
"This way," he commands and treks into the weeds.
The cry grows louder and your pace quickens, passing Rhaenyra and the kingsguard. The Prince leads you to a collection of black stone dragons at the edge of the garden. He stops next to one whose wings have been lost to the elements and hands the torch to you. As the others approach, he uncovers a distressed wooden hatch from beneath the tangled vines and throws it open to reveal a narrow stairway carved into the stone below.
With the door wide open, the cries echo from inside and without a second thought, you sprint down into the void. Jace calls after you and a perplexed commotion erupts as you leave them behind but your only thought is on reaching Tempest as fast as your legs can carry you.
With the speed you descend the spiral staircase, the torch struggles to stay lit. Its wavering light scarcely enough to illuminate your feet, which causes you to crumple to the ground when the stairs come to an abrupt end. The torch is thrown from your hand during the fall and finally fizzles out, leaving you in darkness.
Your hands and knees ache as you stand to regain your bearings and a warmth slowly spreads down your shins. Although you have traveled this path from the bottom of the stairs to your camp often enough with Jace, you know that a journey in the dark will likely lead to further injuries. Another cry from Tempest rings out from within the vast cavern and you wince. Despite the agonizing need to reach her as quick as possible, you steel yourself with a breath and wait for the others to catch up.
Thankfully, they wasted little time in following after you and after only a couple quiet moments the passage behind you is filled with the gentle glow of torchlight. Daemon and Jacaerys emerge first followed closely by Rhaenyra and only one of the kingsguard. The other likely standing guard atop the spiral steps. Jace breaks from Daemon and approaches you as you turn to face them.
“Y/n!” He calls, noticing the blood beginning to seep through your trousers, “What happened?”
“I just lost my footing,” you admit sheepishly, reaching down to pick up the extinguished torch and handing it back to Jace.
He spies the abrasions across your palms and offers you the same discreet look of concern from the dragonmont. You quickly hide your hands behind your back as Daemon saunters up to the two of you. He eyes you suspiciously before glancing around the small chamber.
“How did you find this place?” He questions as Rhaenyra steps forward to join the three of you.
“Luke and I discovered this staircase while running through the garden,” Jace answers on your behalf, “I didn’t explore any further into the cave until I saw y/n and Tempest dive below the water near the cliffs just outside.”
Rhaenyra and Daemon look back to you with curiosity until a roar from Tempest brings their attention towards the dark path ahead. The Princess turns to the remaining kingsguard and orders him to stand guard at the base of the steps. Daemon’s gaze returns to you however, a spark of recognition alight in his eyes.
Jace ignites his torch once again and steps between Daemon and you.
“Shall we?” He says to you with a smile as he turns his back to his great uncle, gesturing for you to walk beside him.
Rhaenyra steps into line behind the two of you, once again leaving Daemon at the rear. Tempest’s deafening roars leave little room for conversation as you and your friend expertly guide your guests down the dark stone path. The torchlight glitters atop various pools along the path, revealing the vast expanse of catacombs and caverns below their home. After rounding a corner the path funnels into a narrow crevice, only wide enough for a single person at a time. Your dragon’s cries now shaking the walls with their volume.
You and Jace face each other and he nods once.
“Go on ahead, we’ll be right behind you,” he assures with a small smile.
You return the smile and charge forward through the passage calling Tempest’s name. Her cries come to a stop when she hears your voice and the moment you stumble into the large chamber, you are met with her massive snout which you fall on top of in a tearful embrace.
She gently lifts you away from the wall and sets you down beside your belongings, rumbling beneath your weight.
“You’re alright,” you run your hands across her scales, “we’re alright.”
You slide off her nose and wipe the tears from your eyes just as Jace emerges from the crack in the far wall. Tempest turns and chirps at the familiar face but moves quickly to investigate when Rhaenyra and Daemon enter. A low grumble emits from her chest as she looks over the two newcomers. You run to stand between them but Rhaenyra speaks before you reach the other side.
“Lykiri, Tempest, lykiri.” Her tone is soothing but you can see uncertainty in the Princess’s eyes. She extends a hand into the open air between them.
Tempest lets out a huff and takes a deep breath, watching the Princess carefully with her golden eyes. You run up to the side of her large head and offer a reassuring touch but she continues to stare down the pair.
“Easy,” you coo, “these are our friends.”
You eye Daemon as the last word leaves your mouth, who is too entranced to notice. Tempest inches closer to allow Rhaenyra’s hand to touch her nose. Jacaerys reaches out to places his hand over his mother’s and Tempest closes her eyes. She pulls away and moves to her resting place near your camp, seemingly content with her investigation.
“I thought you said she hatched eight years ago,” Daemon continues to watch Tempest as she perches near the water’s edge, “how is she this large?”
“I don’t know,” you answer honestly, following his gaze, “I didn’t know she was considered so until I came here and met Vermax.”
“It’s possible she grew quickly to adapt during your journey.” Jace offers, slightly defensive, “She has flown leagues farther than Vermax or Syrax for that matter.”
Rhaenyra turns to you and places a hand on your shoulder.
“She’s beautiful,” she says earnestly.
Her compliment takes you off guard.
“Thank you, Princess.” You reply, your heart swelling with pride.
“We are lucky to have the both of you in our service.”
Your face drops as you are reminded of the oath you will swear before the lords come sunrise. The Princess eyes you carefully and you breathe deeply before meeting her gaze.
“The honor is mine.” You say with a bow, filling your words with as much enthusiasm as you can muster.
Seeing the unease in your face as you bow, she moves her hand to hold your chin.
“You are to be a dragonrider of House Targaryen, a title we have not bestowed upon anyone outside our own family. But my son believes you are worthy of it.”
You break the Princess’s gaze to find Jace’s eyes at the mention of him, only to find them already trained on your face. You are only able to meet his eyes for a moment before Rhaenyra brings your attention back to her with a stroke of her thumb across your jaw.
“I hope one day to share his confidence.” She releases your face, allowing you stand upright and she continues, looking around your meager camp, “Regardless, you shall be shown the same hospitality as the other members of our staff.”
You nod, speaking with more confidence, “I am grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust.”
“Gather your things and lets away.” The Princess commands turning towards the pathway back to the surface with Daemon and Jacaerys in tow.
You are struck with a sudden sadness as you look back to Tempest and your belongings scattered around the only place you have called home for more than one night in over eight years.
“May I…” you call after Rhaenyra before she disappears through the narrow gap, “may I fly Tempest to the dragonmont? I cannot bear to leave her down here alone.”
“As you wish,” she grants, a surprising softness to her voice, “I shall send a kingsguard to meet you at the entrance.”
You smile with another small bow, sneaking one more glance in Jace’s direction before wading into the water. The salt stinging at the wounds on your knees and hands.
“Tempest,” you murmur and she leaps up to join you.
You swim to meet her in the deep pool and climb up to your perch behind her head.
“Until the morning,” you call over your shoulder at the trio upon the rocky shore, and they watch you and your dragon dive below the sea, leaving this cave together for the last time.

You lean your body against the wall and feel the coldness of the walls flow through your body, while distant echoes reach your ears. The graceful footsteps of servants echo through the corridors, accompanied by soft conversations that float delicately in the air. You hold your breath anxiously and remain hidden, fearing that the slightest sound might betray your presence. Only when the whispers have faded and you are sure they are gone do you let out a sigh of relief and the tension in your chest eases.
With newfound courage, you carefully disengage yourself from the wall. With a deliberate step, you walk through the winding corridors of Driftmark Castle. The dimly lit corridors, a secret labyrinth of shadows and secrets, bear witness to your clandestine excursion. Unnoticed by the outside world, you have escaped from your chambers, driven by a longing to glimpse the heavens once more before returning to the turbulent confines of King's Landing.
You have heard much of the island's enchanting night sky, where the stars appear with effortless brilliance, undisturbed by the burdens of a densely populated city. In this vast expanse of darkness, the stars shine, casting their celestial glow on the calm waters that surround the shores. And so, driven by this longing, you navigate the corridors of the castle, propelled by an inexplicable pull towards the sky that dances above the shores of Driftmark.
The day was accompanied by sadness and cast a shadow over the hours that passed. Your mother urged you and your brothers to be moderate. You were not supposed to frolic, but just stay by your family's side. So you and your brothers mostly just stood around nodding and smiling at the adults occasionally. But all you really wanted to do was frolic in the dunes with Aemond.
Today was the sad occasion of Laena Velaryon's funeral, a painful spectacle. Her daughters Baela and Rhaena have your full sympathy. The very thought of suffering such a devastating loss as that of your own mother Rhaenyra sends a shiver down your spine.
Lost in thought, you approach the exit of the castle. Your reverie was abruptly interrupted, however, and you were jolted back to reality as you perceive low murmurs that soon swelled to a tumultuous clamour. The echoes of discontent turned into cries of frustration and carried the weight of a brewing tantrum. You quicken your steps and approach the source of the uproar, only to be abruptly stopped.
You thought you were the only one awake. Yet here are your brothers standing in front of Aemond and they are shouting at each other. Baela and Rhaena are behind your brothers. You notice immediately that no one is standing next to Aemond. You walk towards the group, but no one seems to be paying attention to you.
"What's going on here? Jace?" you ask.
Jace finally turns his head to you, "Go back to bed, y/n!" he says to you.
But you don't listen to him. You walk on and stand next to Aemond. You see the corners of Aemond's mouth pull up briefly and barely noticeably.
"What's going on here?" you ask again.
"Aemond has claimed Vhagar! Vhagars is our mother's dragon!" shouts Rhaena.
Your eyes grow wide. 'Aemond has what?‘ – immediately pops into your mind. But you can't help feeling a little proud for Aemond.
"Your mother is dead," Aemond says suddenly. Your head snaps to the side, "Aemond!" you hiss.
But Aemond seems to pay you no mind, "Vhagar has a new rider now!" he says proudly.
"It was my right to claim her!" retorts Rhaena.
Before Aemond can reply, you lightly take his arm and try to pull him back a little. You know that arguments between them can escalate quickly.
"Rhaena... it is not written down anywhere who can claim which dragon and when..." you say quietly. "Dragons decide for themselves who they want as a rider," you say a little more confidently now.
Rhaena gives you an angry look, "How would you know? Has your mother died yet? Have you had any experience with who claims her dragon?" she hisses at you.
You are a little startled and take a small step back.
"Shut your filthy mouth," chimes in Aemond and suddenly he shoves you behind him.
"Maybe your cousins will find a pig for you to ride. It would suit you," he says with a sneer.
Rhaena suddenly goes for Aemond, but he grabs her and pushes her to the ground. When Baela suddenly stands in front of him and punches him in the face. He didn't expect that, he goes down. You cry out slightly.
As if of your own accord, you suddenly stand next to Baela and push her away to keep her away from Aemond.
Aemond gets back up, looking hateful. He has clenched his hands into fists and is breathing heavily.
"Attack me again and I'll feed you to my dragon!" he says angrily but still with pride.
You look to him, "Don't do that Aemond..," you say quietly.
He looks at you, his gaze softening a little. But he is immediately distracted again when he notices Jace coming towards him.
But it's too late, Jace punches him square in the face. You cry out.
"No! Jace!" you scream, trying to pull him away, but Jace just shoves you aside. He tries to hit Aemond again. He punches several times in Aemond's direction, but to no avail. Aemond deflects each blow. Until Aemond kicks at Jace and he simply goes down.
Suddenly there is a scream from Luke and he tries to go for Aemond. But Aemond just punches him in the face.
"Aemond!" you shout, and run to Luke, who is on the floor. His nose is bleeding and he is whimpering softly. You try to comfort him.
When you turn back to Aemond, you see the others coming at him. Aemond is lying on the ground and the others are standing over him. They kick and hit him. You stroke Luke's head once more before running back over to the others. You get hold of Rhaena's hair and pull her away from Aemond. She struggles, but you push her away, "Stop it now!" you shout at her.
Jace turns to you briefly when he hears you scream. But at that moment Aemond kicks him to the ground again.
Aemond stands again, breathing heavily. Luke goes towards him, but Aemond just grabs him by the collar. Suddenly you notice him holding a rock in his other hand and raising it menacingly. You are too frightened to react.
"You will die in the flames, just as your father did!" he hisses at Luke.
You just gasp out, "Aemond! Stop that right now!"
But Aemond is too angry to even notice anything else
"Bastards," he says hatefully.
"Aemond! Are you out of your mind?" you say angrily. You walk towards the two of them. Luke just whimpers softly, "But my father is still alive..," he says quietly.
Aemond looks surprised, "He doesn't know, does he? Lord Strong?" he says.
"Aemond. Stop it right now," you say to him again.
Luke has tears in his eyes
But suddenly Aemond pushes you to the ground and now you're irritated, but then you see Jace coming at Aemond with a dagger. It takes you too long to process this.
But then Aemond hits Jace with the stone. You get up and go back to Aemond, wanting to pull him away from the group, "Stop that, Aemond! Come with me" you shout.
You turn back to Jace and at that moment you feel a searing pain. You grab your neck and your hands are instantly wet. You hear a blade fall to the floor. You immediately look to Aemond in panic, tears are in your eyes. You are in pain and you start breathing faster. You can't scream and you panic even more. But instead Aemond screams.
"I will let you burn!!! You will die for this!!!" he screams over and over. You slump down and cry silently.
"No!", Aemond shouts and is immediately at your side.
"It's going to be alright! Y/n! Please..," Aemond says almost pleadingly.
"Y/n!" shouts Jace as he realises what he has done, kneeling beside you as well.
Aemond stands back up. He breathes heavily and feels an incomprehensible rage inside him. The rage inside him feels like nothing he has ever felt before. He still has the stone in his hand. He lets his gaze wander to the stone as his chest rises and falls, heavier and faster, again and again. He raises his hand and wants to hit Jace with the stone.
When all of a sudden Luke yells out. At the high-pitched scream, you look up. He has the blade in his hand and swings it.
Aemond notices too late, but suddenly he screams out and holds his eye. You have never heard such a pained scream. You push Jace away from you, desperately trying to crawl over to Aemond. By now your hands are covered in blood and dust, your own pain completely forgotten. You kneel by Aemond's side and are only distantly aware of Jace shouting at Luke. It slowly dawns on both of them what they have done. Rhaena and Baela stand terrified in the corner, not daring to say anything.
You, on the other hand, want to say something. You try to speak. You open your mouth and try to force words out of you. But no matter how hard you try, your throat only hurts. Every time you try to say something, it feels like nails are being driven into your throat and more blood runs down your throat. The front of your dress is now soaked with your blood.
You grab Aemond by the shoulder and try to turn him towards you. As he lies on his back, he whimpers and you see more blood. Your whimpering mingles with his and you let out a soundless scream. His blood mixes with yours on your dress as you lean down and try to embrace him.
Suddenly the Kingsguard comes running.
Tears run down your face. But the tears are not an expression of pain, but of helplessness. Because Aemond lies screaming on the ground and you can do nothing to help him. His hand covers his left eye. More and more blood seeps through between his fingers.
You are only distantly aware of being taken aside, you only have eyes for Aemond.
Everything happens so quickly. And the next moment you are in the throne room. The wound over Aemond's eye is being stitched. He is sitting on a chair and a maester is standing in front of him. You are lying on a couch with two maesters bending over you. You have been given poppy juice and are light-headed. After the bleeding has stopped, your throat will be stitched. Tears keep running down your face. When the maesters have finished, you turn your head to Aemond. You see him contort his face in pain as the maester applies the needle. You try to sit up, but the maesters push you back.
"You should lie down for a while, princess," says one of the maesters.
You want to answer, but when you open your mouth, no words pass your lips.
The maesters cast a meaningful glance at each other. At that moment your mother comes storming into the throne room. She goes worriedly to your brothers and hugs them briefly. But quickly she continues to look around, her eyes searching for you. And then she sees you and horror is written all over her face.
She comes rushing towards you.
"Y/n!" she calls. With her soft hands she takes your face in her hands.
"My girl, what's wrong?" but you can't answer and that scares you even more. Tears well up in your eyes. Your mother looks at the maesters, "What is going on? Why can't my daughter speak?" she asks demandingly.
And then the maesters explain to her that you will probably never be able to speak again.
"A silent princess...", your mother murmurs with tears in her eyes.
Some years have passed since then and you have come to terms with the situation as best you can. The scar on your throat has healed completely, but it still makes you uncomfortable. In the evening, you sit in front of the mirror and apply ointments to the scar, hoping that one day it will hardly be visible. But you can't stand the sight of it for long.
Usually the scar is covered with a scarf to hide it from prying eyes. You are very ashamed of it and it burdens you even more that you can never speak to the lords and ladies of the court. Nevertheless, you have learned to observe your surroundings carefully and to notice the smallest changes.
But this has also led to increasing isolation. Still, Aemond can be found by your side most of the time. Even before the accident you had felt a certain closeness to each other, but now you are connected because of your shared loss. Aemond shares much of his day with you, telling you about the books he is reading. Sometimes he even assures you that you are not missing anything by not taking part in the conversations at court, as they are all trivial and boring.
And you answer him tirelessly with the art of writing. Every morning, when the busy maids help you to dress, you carefully tie a small roll of parchment around your wrist. In a tiny pocket that you have carefully attached to your dress is a precious piece of charcoal. These humble tools serve as channels for your communication.
On this roll of parchment you write all the feelings and thoughts you wish to convey. Your bold and solemn as well as sometimes cheeky responses find their eternal place on this paper that will forever go down in history. Somehow you like the idea that everything you share will be recorded. Unless, in a fit of frustration, Aemond throws your cheeky answers into the nearest fire and tries to give you an annoyed look. Then you can't help a slight chuckle.
Over the years, feelings have been stirring within you. You have watched Aemond grow into an impressive young man. Even in his clothes you notice the muscular development of his body through his hard training. This thought pleases you immensely. Sometimes you cannot suppress a giggle when you meet him after training - sweaty and breathing heavily. Aemond then looks at you in confusion, but you just shake your head as your cheeks redden slightly.
Likewise, you enjoy your quiet moments together. You just sit together then, giving each other comfort. Just as you suffer from your scar, Aemond suffers from the scar that adorns his face. And he cannot cover it as easily as you can cover yours. But your conscience still torments you often because you could not protect Aemond back then. You may have lost your voice, but Aemond has lost half his sight. Since birth, he has had to fight for everything he has, and it seems that nothing will ever change. But the fact that you could not prevent your brothers from going against Aemond and that he had to give up his eye for it, eats away at you and gnaws at your inner self.
When the overwhelming feeling spreads through you, you do not even seem worthy to enjoy his presence or attention. As you stand in the training yard one day, your thoughts are once again corroded by this guilt. An uneasy state fills your chest and a pressure makes itself felt. Suddenly, however, you are torn from your thoughts. Aemond stands before you and a smile adorns his face.
"I have not seen you at all today," he says softly and his smile widens.
You smile too and take your small roll of parchment in your hand.
"I've been hiding from you," you hold out to him on the paper.
He chuckles briefly and suddenly holds out a small flower to you
"I saw this and thought of you," he says softly. With delicate grace, his fingertips caress a delicate strand of your hair and gently stroke it behind your ear. As if guided by nature's whisper, he lovingly nestles a flower in your curls and adorns you with an enchanting touch.
You are overwhelmed by the sheer grace of his gentleness
"Will you wait for me until the training is over?", Aemond asks you, but your mind drifts, deaf to his words.
The suffocating weight in your chest persists and grows stronger. It feels almost unbearable that he has such endearing qualities and showers you with care while you have been powerless to protect him from the clutches of your own brothers who are responsible for his painful loss.
"Y/n?", Aemond asks you again to get your attention.
"I can't read your mind yet, you have to write it down," he says teasingly.
But your eyes suddenly fill with tears – Aemond's gaze instantly panics.
"Y/n? What's wrong?" he asks. He wants to caress the softness of your cheek to soothe you. Unfortunately, fate intervenes and as he reaches out to caress your cheek, you turn and hurry away. Aemond is visibly irritated, but he cannot resist and follows you.
"Hey! Y/n, what's wrong?", Aemond calls after you.
You walk into the gardens and wipe away your tears.
By the rose bushes, Aemond reaches you and grabs you almost gently by the arm. He turns you towards him and you look at him.
"Hey..." he says gently, wiping away your tears.
"Tell me what's wrong," he adds.
You hesitate at first. But then sob quietly and then take the parchment in your hand.
"I'm sorry," you write simply.
Aemond reads these words again and again. His eye dart over the paper, as if he wants to grasp something that is between the lines and still eludes his eye.
"What exactly do you want to apologise for?" he asks you quietly after a while.
You sob quietly and start writing again.
"That I could not prevent it," he reads next.
Again his eye dart over the paper several times.
He looks up, "That you couldn't prevent what exactly?" he asks you.
Now you are starting to look annoyed.
"Pardon me, y/n, I can't figure it out," he says.
You write again, "I thought you were smart?" reads Aemond this time.
He looks up at you again.
"What's bothering you?" he says and sighs.
You start again
"I couldn't stop Luke from taking your eye. I left you alone, so to speak... It still gnaws at my conscience," with each word Aemond reads, his lips move slightly. He slowly looks up at you.
"You silly... It's not your fault I lost my eye after all... You didn't swing the dagger," Aemond says softly.
But you shake your head and start writing again.
"I should have stopped Jace and Luke... I could have done more. I should have just taken you and walked away with you. Neither of us would have been hurt. You could still see with both eyes and I wouldn't have to write on those stupid pieces of paper. I don't deserve your attention," you hold out to him on the paper.
Tears well up in your eyes again and as Aemond looks back up, shaking his head slightly.
"No," he says simply, taking your face in his hands.
"No. It's not your fault," he says to you. With his thumb he gently wipes a tear from your cheek.
"If it hadn't been for you, far more would have happened. Perhaps one of us wouldn't be alive," he says to you.
You want to shake your head again, but his hands won't let you.
"I don't care how much you resist... it's not your fault and you are the only person on this cursed earth who deserves my attention," he says softly.
You notice him slowly lean forward. Your breath catches and before you realise what is happening, his soft lips are on yours. Gently they nestle around your lips. You close your eyes and give in to the feeling.
His tongue explores yours and the feeling of being so close to him is as sweet as a warm summer day. You feel the warmth emanating from him and it envelops you completely.
After a short time, Aemond releases his lips from yours. He leans his forehead against yours.
"Don't ever think like that again... You saved my life... In that horrible night and afterwards... When you were always by my side," he whispers, his lips inches from yours. You just smile and let your lips meet his again.

For the 300 follower event. Can I request green with Zhongli as Rex Lapis?
"rest"
・❥・rex lapis x gn!adeptus!reader
・❥・1.5k
・❥・set in old teyvat, reader and morax are in a sort of weird soul bond situationship, half-dragon!li (i've just decided its his base form now so everyone cope), he calls reader "little one" at one point (lol?), reader has horns (that sounds so silly help), reader cries and it's kinda cinematic, (yes i am using this to heal the wounds my ex left me with because he was ashamed of our relationship thank you for asking!), this has gotta be one of my fav fics ive ever written LOL
・❥・HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT IS I, CAEL. today i present you all with: a thing i wrote!
・❥・if you want to request a prompt from this event, click on the green title!
the world is quiet when the dragon slumbers.
at least, that's what you think.
that's what the adepti think.
the souls of the old deities that have been subdued by rex lapis calm a little when he rests. their empty shells are less vengeful, and they, albeit momentarily, no longer seek to wreak havoc on the people of liyue.
it was a simple mission you had. go to the cave, retrieve any necessary cor lapis for streetward rambler and do not disturb morax. and of course, none of the other adepti knew, but this rule was an optional one in your mind.
the others would never know of your relationship with rex lapis, which was of a deeper level than you cared to explain. the deep, intricate weaves of your two souls together were much more detailed than anyone could ever imagine, so gently and carefully tied over such a long time that they could never be undone. they were roots so deep that neither you nor him could even tell how much you needed each other.
of course, when he is resting you shouldn’t disturb him, because he needs it. he works hard to protect his people, and for this reason he should always be allowed to rest when he needs.
as the few chunks of cor lapis you carried in your bag clanked together, you entered the mouth of a cave in mingyun village. you were fully aware that this was where he would be, since you could feel his presence. but you were only here since this was where the best cor lapis could be found, right? right?
a seemingly small tunnel in the side of the cave led you straight to the sight of him. he was completely still in slumber, tail of brown scales and golden spines lay a little curved on his hoard of various gemstones and chunks of metals.
you walked somewhat slowly to him, tiptoeing your way in to the cave, only to have a look at him of course. he looked quite strange when sleeping. his aura was much more peaceful than usual.
normally, morax was calm. but there would always be some sort of troubled glint in his eyes, one that it appears only you can see, perhaps it is only for you to know of.
as you made your way to the side of the cave opposite to the opening, you could see his hair and arms glowing a little in rhythm with his breathing. from deep in his chest came soft, yet low purrs. he was at rest. however, the small smile which appeared on his lips would say otherwise.
slowly, but surely his eyelids opened, the bright amber irises previously hidden behind them meeting you as you stared at him, not even realising he had actually woken up. instead you were busy admiring his presence.
“you haven’t been here long, hm?” he spoke with a yawn, pushing himself to sit up upon his hoard. the golden surfaces of a few pieces of mora reflected his sharp features as he took a sigh.
your expression was one of pure guilt. you had only wished to see him, after all it was rare that the two of you got much time alone, but you didn’t want to actually wake him up when he was so deserving of a sleep.
“not to worry,” he smiled, “i was due to wake up in a few days anyway.” he got down from the top of the pile, ground shaking a little as he jumped, and was all of a sudden by your side. “why the long face, little one?” he asked gently, tilting his head to the side and placing a loving hand on your cheek.
“i didn’t want to wake you up” you sighed, leaning into his touch. “i did miss you, but i only wanted to see you, not disturb you.”
he moved a little closer to you, his horns slightly touching your own as he moved his forehead against yours, “you are never a disturbance to me, dear” he spoke, closing his eyes and taking a few breaths with you.
but suddenly, it hurt.
“morax…” you opened, trailing off, unsure of how to convey what you wanted to say. instead, your eyebrows knit themselves together, and completely out of your control, a single tear rolled down your cheek, losing itself slowly to the fabric of your robe after making its way down your neck.
he felt it, all of the emotions that were happening for you were making their way to him, his senses more amplified after having rested. “dear-” he said softly, voice breaking a little, hands and eyes searching your body for some sign of injury or pain, “did something hurt you, are you well?” his eyes were filled with concern for you, and somehow that made you feel worse. he stroked your cheek with one hand, the other rubbing up and down your arm. “tell me, what troubles you?” he asked quietly.
“you wouldn’t want to know,” you giggled a little, more tears suddenly escaping your face. “it is a futile complaint”
“tell me,” he said, bringing his hands to your cheeks and gently wiping away your tears, “i want to hear all of it”
you were silent for some time after that, the dim environment of the cave allowing you to lean your head on rex lapis’ shoulder, holding his hand as the other was gently stroking over your hair, and slowly massaging at the base of your horns.
“do you think we’ll ever be able to tell them?” you said, nothing more than a whisper. so quietly that if morax didn’t have such heightened senses, he wouldn’t have been able to hear it at all.
“tell who?” he said back, shoulder slightly vibrating against your cheek as he did.
“the others. do you think we can ever tell them about us?” you asked, absentmindedly staring at a single coin of mora across from you. upon its shiny surface was painted the image of rex lapis of one and his adepti. no. upon its surface was painted two people who were held in a love that had been finely crafted over centuries, each piece chiselled out like the stone of a statue.
“do you want them to know?” he asked, turning his head a little to place a soft kiss upon your head, humming a little before turning back to face his hoard, leaning his head on top of yours.
you nodded a little, closing your eyes, unsure of what to say next.
“if you want them to know then we shall tell them. i doubt they will be upset about it. after all, i am the one in charge, no?” he chuckled a little, interlacing his fingers with yours.
“you’d really tell them?” you asked, moving from the way you were sat, instead sitting up straight to look at him, holding both his hands in your own.
“if that is what you want, then of course i will. i only wish you had told me sooner.” he smiled at you, standing up and pulling you with him. your eyes shone brightly as you beamed at him, and he moved a little closer to you to ask a very important question…
“would you like to rest with me for a little while?”
you nodded, and within an instant he had whisked you to the top of his pile. he began circling around, trying to find a comfortable spot before inviting you to lay down by him, tapping on the space beside him, which was rather funny, because a few of his treasures rolled down the side of the hoard, which made him pout a little.
you keenly moved to lay down beside him, resting your head on his arm. however, there was one major problem.
“this is kind of uncomfortable” you spoke, watching his face contort from being relaxed, to confused, to relieved. through his expressions you could already tell that he had found the solution.
“here,” he yawned out, swiftly moving you to lay on his chest as he rolled on to his back. “better?”
you laughed a little, cheek against the robe which (barely) covered his chest. “much better”
he wrapped both his arms around your waist, every effort being made not to scrape you with his talons. and in this moment, that was when it hit you, more than ever before. every piece of care that he had for you and you for him, it was all for one cause…
“i love you, morax” you smiled softly, squeezing him a little.
finally, you had put words to it. after centuries, you had finally verbalised on the affection shared between the two of you. for the first time ever, you knew exactly what you felt. it was love.
it is love.

Sun Wukong, the Monkey King: my design notes [!! click here for the full line-up !!] [click here for just the goodies on tumblr]
also titled, "I underestimated my file sizes" TAT Separate images and info below the read more, beware this is LONG <3
Stone Monkey: himbs baby, that is all <3 he's mostly based off the François Langur, but some of his anatomy and proportions lean more on the Gray Langur and Macaque side of things. His facial fur sort of forms a pentagon shape for the five elements, and I gave him ginger fur cus it's a common depiction for him but also baby langurs are very bright orange, and him not growing dark feels like an apt display of his more childish side, both good and bad. His nails are golden for a bit of a "hidden gem" from a stone egg. Also keeping the tail either in a spiral of C-curve when "engaged", and when droopy it has a feel of a heavy rope. Old World monkeys don't have prehensile tails, he can use it for balance and basic mobility but it's not a third hand for the sake of keeping his monkey-ness.
Handsome Monkey King: in one of the poems the monkeys are said to weave grass for mattresses, so I can see them coming up with a crown of woven grass and never-fading leaves and flowers for their king at the very least. His face skin is darker as an adult, but not much else changes overall. The fuzzy upper lips and sideburns are a feature of the species I'm basing him on and it felt like a good fit to add. I also love the forest langurs are so long-furred, makes for a good way to give him dimension but also, the linework style reminds me of old woodcut shorthands for fur. Added a jade coin for the symbolism, and it feels fitting that the king of such a miraculous mountain would have a treasure like that on him. Placcid chill eyes are imperative, dude's not had an existential crisis yet, he's straight up vibing.
Sun Wukong: during his odd-ten years away from home, he learned human manners so he can stand but, I can see him still needing to lean on his tail to keep up his balance here and there. As he reaches the Western Continent (India) and learns the Way under Patriarch Subodhi, he adopts proper clothes for an apprentice and eventually becomes a Rishi. He dons his facial paint from then on, and after he masters the Way, there's a brightness in his pupils to show his cultivated immortality. The beads are purple solely to stand out over the deluge of oranges that is his design.
Great Sage Equal to Heaven: really went all out on this one orz this is Wukong at his most egotistical and ambitious, and I wanted his fit to truly embody that. Took bits from Peking Opera costumes and common depiction elements of him, with some bit of extra for appropriate levels of flair, like the phoenix feather design. I wanted to go for a mountain pattern mail but I couldn't figure out how to draw it, so I winged a pattern. I,,, doubt I'll ever draw this armor as detailed as here, but I wanted it to feel a bit overwhelming to look at, while also seeming like it doesn't quite fit him perfectly like it's swallowing him. Bit of a "baby wearing their parent's shoes" kind of vibe; he's stupidly powerful but he doesn't have what it takes to sit on the throne of Heaven. Also I leaned his expression to how he might appear during the Havoc in Heaven and then his bet with the Buddha. Full unbrindled rage murder monkey <3
-- Ruyi Jingu Bang: can't quite move on without my notes on the golden-hooped cudgel, now can I? The secondary hoops are there for further design appeal and for my own visualization of how the staff changes size (the hoops move over the staff's length as if to push it outward or inward). The metal is dark damascus alloy, though the pattern can be omitted for ease of drawing. One hoop end depicts a dragon, the other a phoenix, and in the middle of the staff is the canon inscription as described in the books, in seal script. Glow is optional and mostly for aesthetics.
Sun Pilgrim: out of his stolen armor, Wukong seems to swim in his robes but in a less overwhelming way. Went for the simple fillet headband cus his face is busy enough as it is. I know he's skilled enough to skin a tiger into pretty decent squares, but after one too many battles, anything would get tattered. He wears red, teal, black and yellow, four of the five cardinal colors, while white (the West) is still missing. His red and black half-robe doesn't fully cover the yellow underneath, a call back to his golden armor; he tries to use his wisdom and teachings to fight back the impulses of his past, but they still shine through at times. I kept only the leg bangs for dynamic elements to better show movement, but also one could say he's got.... golden hoops (haha get it, like his cudgel?? :oD)
Victorious Fighting Buddha: leaned hard on the actual portrayals of the Buddha. Seeing that he's depicted with dark/blue skin, it felt appropriate to let the guy grow out of his baby ginger fur and into adult black, but a patch remains where the golden headband used to be. I didn't want to give him long hair so no bun, but instead, his fur has a sorta lotus-petals shape now rather than his single point. His face paint changes into a more domino-mask style, and his brow white line resembles a teardrop urna. I made the mail piece he holds longer to keep the flowy bits of his previous outfits, and I turned Ruyi Jingu Bang into the sword he wields.
Hello hi, this robbed me of three days of my life and I'd like to receive compensation x.x Anyway hope you enjoy this lad, I know I do! Also if you wanna send me asks about him pls feel welcome to, I'd love to chat about this bastard monkey (affectionate) (loving) (i`d die for him)

Stealthros AU
[from this ask!]
The Basics: Malkor establishes his on kingdom in Middle-earth, enthralling/enslaving most of the elves before being defeated by the Valar and tossed into Mandos to contemplate his bad behavior (no elves ever went to Valinor). When he gets out on good behavior, he steals three glowing eggs from a group of dragons, killing dragon!Finwe and wounding dragon!Nerdanel in the process (similar process to Melkor leaving in the book). He then flees across the sea back to Middle-earth to reclaim his kingship. The rest of the dragon family chases after him, desperate to get their unhatched children/siblings back. The dragons work with the free peoples to over-throw Melkor, Feanor is killed at some point never seeing his lost eggs again. — @nighttimepatrons has some fricken awesome art of these dragons. Go check it out! —
Now, the dragons never tell their tentative allies that the ‘silmarils’ are eggs, so as far as anyone knows, the silmarils are just special gems that the dragons want back. Once Melkor is defeated, the elves/men/dwarves don’t give the remaining dragons the silmarils as agreed upon when the alliance was first made, keeping them for themselves (the light of the silmarils helps crops grow and keeps evil creatures away and are just all around very tempting things to keep hold of in a war-ruined land).
Inevitably, this leads to the dragons turning on the newly freed peoples (ie, welcome to the kinslayings on a massive scale). The dragons die one by one, the eggs always just out of reach. Celegorm has a classic western dragon arc with Luthien and Beren before they slay him. Finally, it’s down to Maedhors (the Enormous) and Maglor, and Celebrimbor who never took part in the slaughter for the silmarils because he loves elves, and he’s actually living in Eregion with the elves.
Because Kidnap Fam is kind of a requirement for us, M+M end up with young Elros and Elrond after another failed attempt to get a silmaril. M+M raise E+E and they become half-feral, fearless foster sons committed to helping their dragon dads get what’s theirs!
Okay, that was a lot but there you have the basis for the AU. Now on to some fun details.
The AU got it’s name because Elros is a silly guy who is very proud of how sneaky he can be, how stealthy. He calls himself Stealthros (get it? Stealthy Elros. Steathros. We’re so funny)
Now, because Elros and Elrond are So stealthy and sneaky and want to help their dads, who by this time are starting to give up, they decide to sneak into the treasury of the Noldor King and get the silmaril hidden within. Things go great until they get caught. Elros manages to escape (Stealthros for the win!) but Elrond gets tossed into a prison cell while the king figures out what to do.
Let’s talk about Gil-galad, the King of the Noldor.
Gil-galad, like many of the Noldor, was a thrall of Morgoth, freed after the dragons defeated the Vala. He bares a passing resemblance to Fingon, one of the free Noldor kings who died during the wars and dear friend of Maedhros. With some coaching from Cirdan (who never was a thrall), Gil-galad manages to convince the newly freed and leaderless Noldor that he is the son/grandson of Fingon. Whatever your thoughts on this deception, he’s doing a great shop of rebuilding the world and ensuring people don’t starve. Maedhros refuses to meet with him for any kind of treaties to end the attacks because he knows this upstart usurper is no relation of Fingon the Valiant. Gil-galad has the scars of a setting/rising star cut into his forehead. He doesn’t talk about it.
He's a good king, and he’s terrified when he ends up with a silmaril. He feels the Doom hanging over him and a bit of disappointment: from the stories, he expected something far grander from a silmaril, something glowing with otherworldly light, bright and holy; instead, all he has is a slightly shiny rock that collects dust and invites two nasty dragons to descend on the city. Whatever goodness and power that was housed in the thing is long gone. He hates it.
Now he has this this wild half-elf, foster son of the same monsters, too. He’s so Doomed.
He tries to talk with Elrond. In an ideal world, he’d get an agreement where he frees the boy and gives him the rock, but based on history, even that could bring death flying on dragon wings.
The talk doesn’t go well. Elrond appears to have forgotten his native language, and he only hisses and snaps at Gil-galad, even biting his hand when he gets too close!
There’s only one thing for it: he sends a message to Eregion, asking for someone who’s learned dragon-speech from Celebrimbor to home translate for him.
Celebrimbor is kind of a busybody, though, so he flies over to Lindon himself to see what’s going on and meet the elf-child his uncles raised.
Elrond bullies Celebrimbor. He’s so mean to the dragon 100x his size, it’s unbelievable. He says all kinds of things about Celebrimbor abandoning his family. He punches him in the nose!—Celebrimbor has no idea how to handle this from someone so small. He maybe cries a little. Gil-galad tries not to get second-hand embarrassment.
And that’s kind of it. I Elrond gets back to his dragon dads (Stealthros probably breaks him out), Gil-galad and Celebrimbor probably don’t die (but couldn’t you just imagine a scene like that one from HotD, with Elros on Maedhros chasing them down? shivers).
I’m sure Nightie has more awesome ideas to share (especially focused on the dragons)!
Ask me about fics that live rent-free in my head!

Welp.
BY POPULAR DEMAND-
Here’s the undertale dream I had
(Ramble below)
So this popular channel on tv was making a undertale series. Like, a kind of 3D/ animation thing. There was an entire sneak peak and all. Opened with the surface in a house, and Toriel walking into the kitchen with pie, being followed by frisk, monster kid, and several nameless monster children. Toriel reminded me of a fiber goat, very fluffy. Everyone was laughing and smiling, music playing, and then it cut to a dark bedroom, and there was a human in a bed with a soul over ‘em (chara probably) and Asriel half hidden in the shadows reaching for it. Then it kinda cut to a “sneak peak scene”. Frisk had this little tutu on and a bandanna that was like, orangish red around their wrist. They were going through snowdin forest, with this piano version of snowdin playing in the background, and you could see a bit of yellow petals in the bush near em (Flowey prob) until they heard this barking, and it sounded like a cute dog. They followed the sound, came to what looked like a huge castle gate. Before they could knock, a absolute huge armored hand grabbed the gate door from inside, opening it slowly to reveal a horrifyingly large suit of armor with a fluffy white dog head at the top, which borked sweetly. Like, dude was huge. It swung this absolutely mammoth of a sword- and frisk somehow dodged, and took out this plastic toy knife and slashed at them, slicing their sword in HALF as the world went dark, and four glowing buttons appeared in front of the small human-before it cut to the title; “UNDERTALE AND DELTARUNE”. I’m not quite sure where the deltarune is gonna take place, but okay. Immediately after I excitedly told my father that I hoped that there would be the three routes in the series as well, and he was just confused why “they were rebooting narnia”. Then they showed some designs. It was cool, reminded me of a mix of styles, and a bit of that one dragon from “The never ending story”. The kicker was, sans and papyrus? They weren’t in the new style.
THEY WERE LIKE, DRAWN FROM UNDERVERSE. LITERALLY. THE EXACT STYLE.
I woke up in a dead sweat when I tried to search up people’s reactions to that on tumblr.
SO UH- yeah. Here’s some doodles I made to try and copy the dreams title. If y’all have any questions, I don’t have anwsers. Imma call this the uh, UTDR series dream.

tagged by ten thousand people over the course of the past few weeks where i haven’t had anything to share so now i’m going to subject you all to wyll/shadowheart from a prompt fill i’ve been picking at instead of writing my exchange fic like i’m supposed to…
.
Once upon a time, a princess. Perhaps. She is as quiet as one, as secretive. Hidden away in some internal world, or maybe trapped. Wyll can’t tell exactly how much of her quiet mystery is due to her devotion to her goddess or something else. Whenever he tries to ask, he gets a simple little smile and no explanations. No reasoning as to why she’s whispering to herself, sitting on her heels at camp, far enough from the light of the campfire that the edges of its orange glow barely touch her. No hint on the strange and all consuming injury on her hand that distracts her. No closer to understanding the thoughts that go through her head, strange and beyond his imagination, but he wants to try.
He begins with small gestures, the ones he’s read about in books, the ones they used to read to him back in the city when he was still a duke’s son. He hands her a cup of vinegary wine they found in some ruin or another, a flower plucked from the roadside, a shiny flat rock perfect for skipping across a still lake. She always accepts gingerly, as if expecting a trick along with the treat.
“I just like seeing a little smile on your face,” he tells her earnestly.
She starts to believe him, he can tell by how her smile begins to widen, but then she clutches her injured hand close to her chest and turns away. A princess in peril, locked away in the tower of her mind, and the dragon that traps her within. He feels something in his chest expand at the sight of her pain. Lucky for them, he’s a hero. Saving maidens in distress is what he does best.
#idk who out there (outside of the galeheart server lol) has ever even thought about wyll/shadowheart#but i for one am rolling around in the mud of Prince Charming and princess in peril#maybe a play on fairy tale idk#it looks ok so far idk where this will go#also someone fuckin slap me i NEED to finish this exchange fic#and my useless boomer mother in law is stayin the weekend with us so who knows when i’ll find the energy to write while ignoring her#republican propaganda and veiled antivax musings#less than a year and we move so fuckin far we’ll never clap eyes on a republican again god i hope i last that long#anyway LOL#wyll ravengard#shadowheart#wip whenever#my writing

Fairy Tales
Without your pulling it, the tide comes in
Without your twirling it, the Earth can spin
Without your pushing them, the clouds roll by,
If they can do without you, ducky, so can I!
-Without You, My Fair Lady (1964)
I have grown up with the fairy tales of main characters falling in love with their soulmates within seconds. Their perfectly done hair going untouched as they fought through battles with dragons, all to get back home to their beloved. But unfortunately, life is not a fairy tale.
Everyone that I’ve grown up with, has gone on to marry their soulmates or have pursued their dream careers. My former playmates have all grown up and are no longer playing house. Instead they are all building their homes, with their soulmates, in preparation for future families and long careers. Their soulmarks perfectly complementary and glowing at all times, whether on display or hidden beneath layers irrelevant. Birth flowers and other botanicals smattered over their bodies like stars in the Milky Way.
They taught us in school that for every relationship that is important to you you will gain a new soulmark. These may fade and new ones may appear but the ones that will stay forever unchanged is the flower representing your soulmate. Your soulmate’s birth flower will always rest along the inside of your left forearm, and has been there since birth. It’s a 50/50 shot that you will meet your soulmate. If you land in the lucky 50%, and meet your soulmate, you typically meet them before you turn 25. The other 50% will probably never meet their soulmate. Obviously, there are anomalies to every rule; but in general, this is the way the world has always worked.
I happen to be a part of the unlucky 50%, well on the fast track to it anyway. For starters I have not one, but two soulmates. This led to many years of weird looks, exclusions from social events, and so on. Not that I ever really minded, schoolwork and art have been better friends and family to me than any other person ever has. Ever since I learned that finding one soulmate was hard enough, I gave up even trying. What’s the point when people ask to see your soulmark, only to realize that they have to share your love with someone else?
After doing that quick math and weighing the odds I decided to blend in, and say to hell with soulmates. I bought a gold ring and wore it on my ring finger, telling everyone that I was married. I kept my head straight whenever people came up to flirt or, simply showed them my hand and walked away. If I couldn't succeed in love, I sure as hell was going to succeed in my career.
Here’s part two of the Zosan x reader blurb series, this time from the reader’s perspective. I added on the song that inspired the reader’s outlook from here on out.

To the Next Adventure
Atem/YamiYugii X F!Reader
Darkness was everywhere you looked. It surrounded you, preventing any other movement besides the pivot of your head. It was neither cold nor warm, dry nor wet, it was simply nothing. What was this place? What happened that made you come here? Pain shot through your temples as if to answer the questions you’d asked, near blinding white hot, threatening to render you motionless altogether. Had you sustained a head injury of sorts?
“Release her at once!”
Another bolt of pain seared across your being. The voice was familiar, ripples of fine dark hued velvet dancing with white silk appearing from nowhere, as it caressed your ears. Who was its owner?, you couldn’t help but wonder as glittering gold sand gathered in a pile around your feet courtesy of a warm breeze. Darkness lingered though small stars slowly began to appear with each echo of the command until a desert spanned for as far as you could see blanketed by Nyx’s cloak of twilight. A full moon stained red threatened to bathe all things in its crimson glow if not for the single figure who stood atop of a mighty twin mouthed dragon.
“I will not repeat myself…Consider this your only and final warning!”
This time pain radiated from around your neck as what was identifiable as large fingers threatened to cutoff your airway. “Ah, but you see, she is rightfully mine by right! Need I remind you of this era’s rules, your highness, for he who lays claim to a female then the property she becomes! Matters not how nor if it was by choice! I have her in my hold currently which makes her the perfect person for the job I have in mind!”
The dragon released an earth shattering roar that would make any who heard deaf, its four eyes aglow with bloodlust as its summoner’s lip curled in a snarl. Seeing either one alone would ensure nightmares to come with its glistening fangs and claws but it was the man wearing the Eye of Horus upon his head that struck you with awe. Wild ebony hair with vermillion tips that faded to violet towards his neck’s nape, a mantle of rich purple billowing behind him that accentuated the amethyst shards within his sharp gaze as it remained locked upon the one you surmised as your captor, skin beautifully kissed by the sun’s rays that shone with subtle hints of sweat as he raised his hand outwards. “All in the land know that she you dare touch is to be by my side as queen so do not play me for a fool! Will or not, I demand you return her at once!”
Queen? You? Confusion filled your chest at his words.
Anger shone brilliantly as his gaze tinted towards pomegranate. As if your uncertainty had wounded him, there was the briefest shadow of sorrow hidden within his gaze as you met it. “You heathen, what have you done her?”
“Well, dear pharaoh, it was clear that you were not going to pull your punches even if I used those little modern century friends of yours. My patience wanes thin already and Zorc the Dark One will be resurrected soon enough once I offer up her life force!” Another hand rose to take hold of your chin, raising it roughly so that the length of your throat was exposed. “Try not to take this personally, my dear, you were simply a means to an end! Fear not though, your memories shall be returned to you once his highness speaks his name!”
Both summoner and beast bellowed towards the night sky as the moon behind them darkened. Those were your only warnings as the world you barely knew was plunged into darkness once again courtesy of a dagger which first swiped across your throat then buried itself deep within your chest until its metallic hilt met your flesh.
Breaths hissed from between your clenched teeth as you sat upright in bed, hands leaping to your throat and chest while staring wide eyed up through the skylight window to the full blood moon eclipse. Horror filled you like a spreading poison when hearing a voice call out a name which unlocked a hidden gate that was buried within your mind. Faces and places swam past you like a movie reel until they came to a screeching halt upon an altar where the shadow sourcing from a single being became two. The cellphone that was on your bedside table began to ring but you were too numb to move let alone speak. Somehow you knew where to go, where you should be, and who was calling out to you.
Sunlight threatened to blind you while stepping off the boat, feet running the second they met the blistering sand despite the shouts of local deterring you from venturing below. You’d used every string and connection you knew to get here so quickly but it would all be worth it. At the end of a seemingly never ending stone staircase, after stepping around the slumped figure of a white headed man, you found the golden upside down pyramid laying behind a tricolored teen who lay unconscious with several others. The stone tablet before you seemed to hum with power as you approached, a single golden beam appearing from the carving’s apex to brush your brow, before it fell silent; all of your memories had been restored already, meaning its task had nothing to do with you. Your hands carefully picked up the ancient artifact, caressing it gingerly and carefully as if it would shatter, raising it to press one of its sides against your cheek. A single teardrop fell from your eye to splatter across the priceless gold.
“By the ancient gods,” the voice from your dream sounded as if he were standing in front of you instead, “how have you come here?”
“Nothing upon the earth nor in the heavens could keep mine love from you, my pharaoh.” You whispered back while returning it to the young teen who stirred. Though you couldn’t physically see him, there was no mistaking the gaze which seemed to watch with suspense as you walked back towards the staircase. The urge to take the Millennium Puzzle came over you in a tidal wave yet you retrained yourself. It was not for you to possess and his task within this time was not yet complete. “Come seek me out once you have gathered your senses about you.”
And without another backwards glance, you vanished back up the staircase.
The gentle rocking of the boat would lull anyone into slumber but you instead found solace upon starboard’s bow with the wind teasing the sensitive skin of your face. Scents of water lily and driftwood filled the night’s cool air which quenched most of the day’s relentless heat. A soft smile made to raise your lips if not for the presence which manifested behind you.
They didn’t speak, nor did you, as the shadow that stretched across the wood underfoot became taller. It was dominating, radiating with power unseen in this century’s time, yet it seemed to not show its fangs as it came closer.
One step…
two steps…
four steps…
And it came to a stop just short of reaching where you stood. Yet they still did not speak nor did they attempt to touch you.
This time a smile did grace your lips as the lids of your eyes slowly closed. Masculine sandalwood now tickled your nose in place of playful yet faint scents of modern deodorant which was a bit too potent for your personal liking. “Upon the Nile’s shore, where water kisses land, so ever flows my love for you.”
“May by Ra’s grace, our bond be forged in gold.” He spoke softly, gently, as if afraid you were a vision that would disappear if he was too loud. “For not riches nor jewels shine brighter than my beloved. For so long as she remains by mine side, I shall not want for naught.”
“For what is fortune to one such as I when mine eyes behold the greatest treasure one could find?” You faced him fully with a tilt of your being, the banister meeting the small of your back as he crossed the remaining space to wrap both arms around you as if to prevent anyone from stealing you away. Guilt wracked your body as you in turn clung to him.
Along your trip you’d familiarized yourself with the path of his vessel, Yugi Mutuo from Japan, and had felt stricken with self loathe when discovering all that had occurred while your memory was lacking; Pegasus’ Shadow Game, the battle against Marik’s evil, Atlantis, and that you had been unable to assist in any of them left you feeling bitter. Even back in ancient times, the pharaoh had immense strength blessed to him by the gods, but the showcase again and again of it was almost too much for you to take when realizing that strangers had been by his side instead of you.
“My pharaoh, my beloved, my King of Games, forgive this fool of a woman for not finding her way to your side sooner.”
“I am relieved that you did not have to suffer twice. The battle’s path may have turned in an unfavorable direction if you had participated, (Y/n), thus I am relieved to find you unharmed and well.” The pads of his thumbs were quick to wipe away the tears as they spilled down your cheeks, his gaze piercing you with its gemstone hues. “Bakura’s curse was vanquished the moment he was defeated, (Y/n), so do not blame yourself upon something that was not within your control.” He appeared just as you had dreamt and more as he encouraged your eyes to open with the softest of brushes that were his fingers against your eyelids. Pale moonlight accentuated each plane of his face, revealing masculine edges yet smoothed over by the lingering plush that was from living within the modern century, though it did little to conceal the physique which was testimony of endless trainings both in combat and magical. A black racer back tee failed to conceal the lean build he sported, shoulders and upper chest showcased thanks to the fabric’s tightness, and recognizable bottoms ended where pointed boots began. Leather studded bands around his biceps and wrist did little to deter his movements, matching the choker around his throat. The expression upon his features though was foreign as he retreated a step. “Forgive my appearance, for it is not entirely my own.”
“My pharaoh, frankly I would not care if your vessel was a giant purple dinosaur.” Your hand waved dismissively when his head tilted slightly, unable to stop a giggle from sounding. Pride filled you while cupping his face between both your palms, exhaustion appearing within his gaze as you brought him closer so that your foreheads were touching. “It matters not, beloved, all that matters is that you have succeeded in saving the world from Zorc the Dark One. Now you may finally know peace as the kings before you have.”
Regret wafted off of him in waves as he removed your hands, gaze becoming hooded. “I am in need of rest, yes, yet my duty upon this matter is not yet finished.”
You listened carefully and intently as he told of one final duel he needed to partake within. This time it would be against his vessel. Understanding filled you when noting how he glanced over his shoulder towards the cabin where the boy’s companions sounded from, your fingers lightly brushing against his own when he hesitated to answer the call of a name which wasn’t his. “Go to them. It will not be long before they must accept your destiny leads somewhere they cannot follow.” Though his fingers and hand was larger than your own, it did not deter you from raising it so as to brush your lips across his knuckles before placing his palm against your chest where he could feel your heartbeat. “You have my word that I will not wander, pharaoh, have faith in my words as a promise to remain seen yet unseen while going forth from here.”
Sharp gemstone eyes closed briefly as he nodded, slowly allowing the call to cause his vessel to take retreating steps, until he disappeared from sight towards the other end of the boat.
Watching him go threatened to fill you with loneliness and neglect but it was not you who needed comforting tonight. No. He deserved to be with the friends he’d made despite you wanting not to waste another second not within his presence. You’d managed this second life’s time so far without him.
What was one more night?
Little were you aware of how many times he came to a stop outside your door as the moon traveled its way across the night sky. It was close to the four o’clock hour that the softest of sounds woke you. No explanation was needed as you crossed the borrowed room’s space to unlock the door, your hand gently collecting his own and drawing him inside before closing it once more. The shadows seemed to gather around him as he silently followed you to the bed, not stopping nor saying anything as you laid him down first. Words weren’t necessary as the heaviness within his gaze met yours. One of your hands rose to begin slowly combing through his tricolored tresses while the rest of you settled in a comfortable position beside him, silently encouraging him to relax by coaxing his head to rest against your upper chest. The invitation was accepted and he soon had nestled his face into your being with arms wrapped around your waist.
And that was all it took for the mighty Nameless Pharaoh of Egypt to finally break. His hold became tight as near scalding droplets of liquid splattered across your skin as he choked on his own words. He told of everything from how his initial emergence from the puzzle frightened the poor boy who’d completed it, how he had selfishly grown attached to the boy’s friends and became envious of the simplistic lifestyle, of how each adversary he met would nearly result in the harm of those he’d come to care for, the frustration he felt when someone was made victim because of his choices or actions, when he’d felt helpless against silver tongued opponents who nearly made him lose sight of his path. Your hold didn’t wane or falter as he spoke, uncaring of how long it took until his words ran out, internally relishing every one that passed through his lips. It had been so long since either of you had spoken freely, let alone held one another in such a way, and though he’d tried his best to keep a clam and neutral exterior, you of all people knew just how self destructive such a face could become.
He’d had no one in this time to comfort or encourage him in the way he needed. No one had been capable to ensuring his confidence within himself was put back together when he felt lacking. There had been new friendships to help him cope with his missing memories but with them came a lacking of understanding from both parties. Several times it seemed as though he was at a loss for what he’d needed in some scenarios, despite his and their best efforts to find solutions, but that’s outside of the here and now.
Silence hung in the air once he’d finished, though it was as weightless as a feather, yet it settled over the two of you in an invisible blanket which stemmed off the chill of night. Your eyes drifted closed as his breaths slowed to an even rhythm against your skin. The tension which had been radiating off his form since your skin touched was replaced by calm acceptance. His mind must have been racing with the coming dawn that it had robbed him, and his vessel, of slumber. Even if this was all you could do for him you’d gladly accept this role.
Dawn filtered through nearby window as he finally stirred, bathing him in its colorful glow as he rose to sit upright. You would wake soon, that much he could tell from how you shifted due to his warmth now missing from your embrace. Ever so gently he brushed his lips against your temple then across each of your knuckles. The beauty he saw as you teetered on the line between dreamland and consciousness threatened to take his breath away but it could not be ignored that he had one more mission to accomplish upon this plane of existence. His turned back, however, made him miss the tear which slid down your cheek as with a crack of your eye allowed your to witness him depart.
Dressing took minimal effort, your belongings next to none since you no longer would need them come tonight, and you carefully followed the small group who were his comrades below the earth to where the Millennium items were to slumber. It seemed that none noticed you slipping within the designated space that was to be his final stage and watched with awe as not one figure but two appeared from the shadow which had been one.
With breathless abandon, you watched the duel’s twists and turns earn mixed reactions from those who watched; the tomb keepers would be freed from their ancient family duty to watch over the Nameless Pharaoh’s tomb until his return and those who were teens within high school couldn’t decide who to cheer for yet they all soon began cheering for the one named Yugi. Magic cards were activated, trap cards triggered, summons of monsters completed or prevented…
Until his life points were nonexistent.
Your breath came out in a soft exhale as defeat permeated the air. It seemed as though the other spectators were struck by the turn of events, judging from how they stared wide eyed up at the pair who crossed the space to stand mere inches apart instead of feet. Even from here you felt the waves of relief coming off the pharaoh as he offered his hand towards the boy who looked ready to weep. Whispers almost too soft for you to hear filled the air, encouraging you to come forward from your hiding place, and steeled yourself as you stepped out from the column’s shadow you’d been within. A collective exclamation rose as you remained locked upon your target, the platform which had been stage for his final duel, uncaring as a few demanded you explain how you’d come to be here. Coming to a stop beside him, you offered him a smile after bowing lowly. “Beloved, you fought valiantly.”
An uproar sounded from those who watched, despite the attempts of the tomb keepers, but silence fell as his hand rose to tuck a few fallen strands of hair behind your ear. The boy beside him was watching with wide eyed surprise as your introduction was followed by explanation of Bakura’s curse upon your memories which had wiped them clean until recently.
Your hand offered its palm to him as another smile raised your lips when he took it. “Thank you for taking care of him as he traversed upon such a path.” Hesitation filled his gaze when you drew him forward, your other hand cupping the side of his face so that his gaze wouldn’t wander from yours. “Your friendship shall not be forgotten, Yugi. Allow me to take my place at his side now as he prepares to cross the final threshold.”
He didn’t object or intervene despite his friends who spoke against your actions while releasing him, the woman tomb keeper explaining the final steps which the pharaoh needed to take in order to transcend. “I can tell you mean a lot to him, (Y/n), though I probably should say that I had my suspicions someone out in the world was looking for him ever since we returned. I’m glad you found him.”
Those who had gathered as the great stone slabs parted to reveal golden light which bathed the pharaoh in its light. His modern clothes were replaced by the ancient wardrobe you’d been more familiar with down to the royal purple mantle which billowed in the soft breeze coming from beyond the gate. Ever so faintly you could see those who had passed on during the battle centuries ago waving and awaiting the two of you with welcoming smiles. Tanned fingers gently laced themselves with yours, which you gave a gentle squeeze, your gaze rose to meet his own to find them practically glittering. Somehow your own clothes had undergone a change as well to resemble those which you’d once donned. A bend of his being brought his lips to your cheek, earning a soft hum from within your chest and a blush as he whispered how beautiful you looked, before turning his attention to those who watched with tearful gazes.
Farewells were said, smiles exchanged, your fingers giving his a squeeze as the minimal window which would allow him to finally crossover began to shorten. “Atem, my beloved, it is time. If we do not go now then we may remain within limbo.” You shared a glance with him back over your shoulders, then together the two of you stepped through the gateway.
“As I embark on this next adventure, I am thankful to the gods that we have reunited.” He brought your joined fingers up to his mouth as the golden light grew, nearly blindingly so, his lips descending upon your own when you sighed blissfully. “Let us go…together.”

After seeing the rise!turtles with velociraptor yokai s/o, I am curious about if their friend/crush/s/o is a half dragon yokai, half human yokai who has some human features like their eyes and mouth but has dragons ears, wings, teeth and claws who at times uses a cloaking brooch to look human like Sunita. Almost like the same look as Catra from She-Ra: TPoP (the reboot version)
I love this so so so much- my oc is actually dragon based, so this was really fun to write!!!
Neon Leon
Leo thinks that you look so cool!
Is obsessed with your wings-
They're so big and strong???
Plus, they look amazing???
Boy is staring hard.
Not to mention how strong you are as a half dragon yokai
You can literally carry him with little to no problem
He's in love (Platonically or romantically!)
Definitely asks you to take some cool pictures with him
"We can do action poses! C'mon just one, please??"
You do end up taking photos- even if you just agreed to one
Somehow you two end up doing a whole photo shoot
There are shots of you two midair, pretending to fight each other, you carrying Leo- and he has a wig on for some reason???
It looks magnificent on him but where did he even get it-
"Wait I agreed to one picture, how did we end up here?"
"That's the power of the photoshoot, baby!"
The pictures look really cool though
Leo posts some on his social media ofc
Also finds it interesting that you use a cloaking brooch
"You look cool both ways!"
Wonders how in the world your wings 'disappear'
Don Tron
He is in awe
You are a majestic looking being
Half human, half dragon yokai????
He's so curious about you- you're probably the first human/dragon yokai hybrid he's seen!
That's actually the reason he probably started talking to you-
He just wants to know more about you
And maybe ask a few questions for science ofc
You're literally just minding your own business, walking around the hidden city when-
There's this purple clad turtle in front of you
Where did he even come from??
"Excuse me, do you perhaps have a moment to answer a few questions about your being?"
"What-"
"Like for example- are those wings just for show or can you actually fly? How sharp are your claws? And-"
There are now more turtles, with a red clad one picking up the first one and scooching away while the others apologize profusely.
You end up talking with and answering Donnie's questions
Even offering to give a demonstration here and there
Donnie's so appreciative and actually becomes fast friends with you
One of his favorite things about you, are your claws
They're so sharp and deadly!!
May or may not have taken inspiration to build an even sharper weapon
Extremely impressed when you slice through metal like sheet paper
Also interested in your cloaking brooch
"Why do you use it, you look magnificent?"
"So, I can actually go in human places??"
"But- your intimidation points!!"
Overall, though, he just likes testing things out and hanging out with you
You two get into wacky experiments and adventures
...And may or may not have trashed Repo Mantis's junkyard...
Mystic Mike
"OHMIGOSH!"
Um??? Hello???
You look so freakin amazing????
He absolutely loves your scales
They're so pretty and shiny!?
When they catch the light the right way, they look like they could be made of gemstones
But despite looking so delicate- they're able to withstand hard hits??
Mikey literally saw a blade practically bounce off of your scales and not leave a mark
He's in awe
Absolutely made it his mission to befriend you- and he did!
Also loves your colors!
Please let him paint your scales from time to time
He can and will make you look even more amazing- and colorful!
Uses glow in the dark paint to give you a more magical look
Also loves your wings
They're strong enough to make short bursts of wind
Pleads with you to give him a ride
Ofc you do
He's practically screaming from how excited he is when you take him flying
Loves when you do stunts- like barrel rolls or nose dives
"THIS IS SO COOL!!!"
You two definitely do stunts often
Especially in battle
You literally swoop down out of nowhere with Mikey on your back- scaring your opponents
It's an amazing site- Mikey's kusari-fundo on fire, whipping around while you knock enemies away with ease
Finds your human form adorable!
Especially since it's a bit jarring to see
You go from looking all sorts of intimidating to looking harmless
But Mikey knows how much of a powerhouse you are!
Big Red
He's in shock when he meets you
Sure, he's met plenty of strong, intimidating looking yokai before
But he's never met another yokai that had human in them before
Aside from his family of course- but technically they're mutants and not actually yokai
Wants to get to know you better and is very kind about asking you questions
You two become fast friends due to his friendly nature
And now, you two actually spar often
Thanks to your dragon half, you're able to keep up and take hits from Raph
And Raph actually gets to go all out with you
You've actually knocked him into a wall before
"Oh my gosh- are you okay!?"
"Raph feels great! Let's go again."
Usually, he's overly worried about his spikes and accidentally poking others
But your scales are actually pretty tough
Plus, you're pretty pointy yourself
Especially your claws
Raph feels like you truly get what it's like to be constantly careful
And because of that, you two bond great!
He's confused by how your cloaking brooch manages to make you look so human
"Just magic I guess."
Nod nod "Guess that makes sense."
You're probably one of his immediate friends that can lift him with ease
Please carry him like a princess, he will cry
And if you can carry him while flying?
Raph is going to faint from joy
You may or may not have dropped him like a bowling ball when fighting enemies
Raph loves it!
Hello! I'm sorry this took so long, but I hope you enjoyed!
Also, I may or may not have written this whole thing right before work send help.

The Girl That Was Raised By Dragons
Pairings: Dragon Rider Leonora Lesso x Dragon Protector Reader, Dragon Rider Natasha Romanoff x Dragon Protector Reader, Natasha Romanoff x Leonora Lesso & Leonora Lesso x Reader x Natasha Romanoff
Warnings ⚠️: Dragons, weapons, age difference, height difference, flying, caves & flirting
Pet Names/Nicknames: Darling, Sweetheart, Leo & Nat
Word Count: 2,515
What their outfits look like
A world full of dragons who would have thought that could be real. Natasha Romanoff and Leonora Lesso are one of the best and fastest riders in berk. The two of them have been friends for 27 years. They've been the chiefs of berk for 5 of those years now.
"Leo are you in here" Natasha said as she walked into the great hall to see Leo and her night fury Eclipse sitting at one of the tables. Natasha walked over and scratched Eclipse's neck causing her to fall onto her back. Leonora looked up to see Natasha lean against the table. "Just thinking about what's still out there" Leonora said as she nudged Eclipse with her foot. Eclipse looked up before sticking her tongue out causing Leonora to chuckle before shaking her head. She looked up at Natasha to see her already looking at her. "You know we could go find out" she said which caused Leonora to raise an eyebrow. "How are we going to do that when we're chiefs of berk" Leonora said as she stroked her hands through her hair. "I don't know but we can figure it" Natasha said as she pushed herself off the table. "Think about it at least" she continued before walking out of the great hall. Leonora looked down at her night fury to see her already looking up at her. "Should we do it Eclipse should we go see what's still out there" Leonora asked and Eclipsed rolled over before sitting up. "I take that as a yes" Leonora said before she stood up.
The two were fixing up their dragon armor and were about to put their helmets on when someone came running up to them. "Be careful out there" the boy said and the two looked at each other before putting their helmets on. "Don't worry we're always fine" Leonora said before she got on her night fury. Natasha got on her deathgripper before the two flew off.
They flew for days occasionally taking breaks to rest and eat. They flew more until they reached the end of the world where a huge waterfall was. "This is something you don't see everyday" Leonora said and Natasha agreed. "Should we" Natasha asked and Leonora lifted her helmet up before smirking. "First one to get to the bottom wins" Leonora says before she flipped her helmet back down and flew into the waterfall with Natasha close behind her.
"Ha you're still slow Nat" Leonora said causing Natasha to scoff before looking ahead. She slowed down before completely stopping which made Leonora stop as well. "What's wrong" Leonora asked and Natasha pointed ahead. Leonora looked ahead and her eyes widened in shock before she flipped her helmet up. "Wow I've never seen anything like this before" she said as Natasha flipped her helmet up as well. "This place is beautiful who knew this could be under a waterfall" Natasha breathed out as she patted Red's head motioning him to start flying slowly. Leonora followed suit as they flew side by side. "It's like a whole hidden world down here" Leonora said as they flew through the cave that was glowing. Their dragon armor glowed as well as their dragons. As they kept flying they came to a huge opening and their mouths dropped open. They landed on a cliff that was out of view to see dragons of all kinds flying around.
"You guys are trespassing" Someone said above them causing them to grab their weapons and jump off their dragons. They looked up to see a person hanging from a cliff above swinging back and forth before dropping down in front of them. The person was wearing gold dragon armor and was holding a spear that had markings carved into it. "Who the hell are you" Leonora growled out and the person just tilted their head before holding their hand out. "I should be asking you the same thing" they said as Leonora's night fury walked over and nudged the person's hand. Eclipse fell onto her back as the person knelt down and booped her nose. Natasha and Leonora still stood guard with their weapons in hand as they watched red walk over and nudged the person's side. "We're dragon Riders and the chiefs of berk" Natasha finally said and the figure looked up while Natasha took her helmet off. Leonora followed suit and the figure stood up. "Interesting" the figure said before turning around. "Aren't you going to tell us who you are" Leonora said as she took a step forward but something growled above them making the person smirk under their mask. Natasha and Leonora looked up before backing up when they saw a stormcutter. "You guys can stay here for the night but you leave in the morning" the person said before jumping off the cliff. The two rushed over and looked over to see the person on a dragons back. The dragon flew off and out of sight leaving the two redheads standing there in complete shock.
The person had watched the two women set up camp from afar. Most of the dragons were sleeping and the rest were sitting or laying near the person. Stormcutter nudged the person in the back causing them to stumble forehead. "what are you doing, go lay down" the person said as they tried to shoo the dragon away who growled at them. Another dragon nudged them as well causing them to fall onto the ground. "If you're trying to get me to go over there I'm not doing it"the person said before getting up and dusting off their armor. The dragons that were awake still all looked at each other before a Skrill got up and grabbed the person by the legs. The dragon flew over as the person struggled against its grip while shouting at it.
Natasha and Leonora looked up at the commotion to see a Skrill flying over while holding the person before. They stood up as the Skrill dropped the person onto the ground causing them to groan. "Are you okay" Natasha said as she rushed over to help the person up. "I'm fine" the person said turning around. They were about to take a step but the Skrill growled lowly as a deadly nadder landed next to it before growling as well. "Why are you guys acting like this you never do" the person shouted causing it to echo through the cave. Some of the dragons that were sleeping woke up at the sound. The Skrill walked over and nudged the person in the stomach causing them to stumble back into a pair of strong arms. They looked up to see Leonora looking down at them. The person stood up before growling at the two dragons as she took her spear out. Natasha got in between the two dragons and the person. "Alright how about we calm down" Natasha said and the person looked at her before back at the two dragons.
The person threw their spear down before storming over to the fire. They took their helmet off and let their hair fall down in curls. Natasha and Leonora's eyes widened in shock as they froze in place. The person looked over their shoulder and the two realized it was a girl much younger than them. "What never seen someone with glowing hair before" the girl hissed out before she dropped to the ground with her legs crossed. "To be honest no we haven't" Leonora said as she sat down on one of the flat rocks. When the girl looked up from the fire Leonora saw black markings on the girl's face. "What are you looking at" the girl spat out before she looked away. "You're beautiful" Leonora breathed out as Natasha walked over. The girl felt a rush or heat crawl up her body causing her to shiver. "So what's your name sweetheart" Natasha said as she sat down next to her friend. "Y/N" the girl muttered out as a terrible terror flew over and landed down next to her. "Pretty name for a beautiful girl" Leonora said causing Y/N's heart beat to quicken. "I uh I should go now" Y/N said as she stood up and turned around to see two other dragons behind her. "I don't think your friends will let you" Natasha said and Y/N huffed before turning back around. She sat back down and then terrible terror crawled into her lap and laid down.
"So did you grow up here" Natasha asked and Leonora nudged Natasha in the ribs. "You don't have to answer that" Leonora said and Y/N looked between the two of them as she had her teeth in a fish. She pulled her mouth away from the fish before nodding her head. "Yeah I lived here my whole life I was basically raised by these dragons, stormcutter found me when I was a baby" Y/N said as she looked over her shoulder. She saw stormcutter sleeping peacefully with some of the other dragons curled up next to it. She looked back over to see Natasha and Leonora looking at her causing her to look away quickly. "So how'd you make your suit, doesn't seem like there's that much stuff to us down here to build that except for the scales" Natasha asked and Y/N smiled. "Some of the dragons bring some stuff back when they go out" Y/N said and the two redheads look at each other before narrowing their eyes. "So that's why some of our stuff has gone missing" Leonora muttered out and Natasha nodded before chuckling quietly.
Leonora watched as her night fury walked over to Y/N and rubbed her head against Y/N's shoulder. Y/N looked up and stroked under Eclipse's ear as she laid down with her head in her lap. "You like her don't you" Natasha whispered out as she watched Red walk over as well and plopped down right next to Y/N. "How about you do you like her" Leonora asked back and Natasha looked at her best friend. "Yeah I do" Natasha said and Leonora nodded her head. "Same" Leonora said as she looked over to see Y/N looking at them. Leonora's smile widened when she saw Y/N look away immediately.
The two woke up to see Y/N was gone. The two looked at each other before looking at where they put their stuff to see it still there. The only things that were missing were Eclipse and Red making them frown. They stood up and walked to the edge to see that all the dragons were gone as well except for stormcutter. The dragon flew over when she saw the two walk to the edge. They back up as Stormcutter landed in front of them. "Where's our dragons" Natasha growled out and Stormcutter tilted her head before turning around and laying down. "I think she wants us to get on" Leonora said before climbing onto Stormcutter's back. Natasha narrowed her eyes but got on anyway. She stood up before jumping off the cliff and started falling down causing the two to hold on tightly. "What the hell" Natasha shouted causing Leonora to bark out a laugh. Stormcutter stretched her wings out the last second before flying through the cave dodging the towers of rock and going under archways. "This dragon is fucking crazy" Natasha shouted making Leonora laugh again. "I thought you liked crazy Nat" Leonora said as she continued laughing. Natasha glared at Leonora before hitting her in the back with her fist. "Shut up" Natasha growled out as Stormcutter slowed down a bit. As they kept flying the two heard huge splashes in the distance.
Stormcutter flew into a huge clearing and the two looked around in awe. It was an underground ocean. Some of the dragons were splashing while the fire dragons laid down around it on some rocks. Stormcutter landed on a huge rock and the two women got off. They looked around before they spotted Y/N standing in the water a couple feet away in nothing but underwear and a bra. The two looked up and down Y/N's body to see markings from her neck all the way down to her feet. Y/N's whole body was covered in black markings that were drawn on with dragon scales. "Well look who finally joined us" Y/N said causing the two to look up to see Y/N looking at them. "Nice markings" Leonora said causing Y/N to look down to see she was barely wearing anything. Her face turned red as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Oh uh thank you" Y/N said as Natasha walked up to her. Natasha stopped right in front of Y/N causing the girl to tilt her head back a little bit. Natasha leaned down and was about to grab Y/N's wrists when she was tackled into the water by one of the dragons. "DUSTY" Y/N shouted as she ran towards the grey dragon and pushed him away from Natasha. "Get out of here you goof" Y/N shouted and the dragon huffed before prancing away. Y/N helped Natasha up as Leonora laughed. "Oh god that was hilarious" Leonora said as she held her stomach. "Shut up Leo" Natasha growled out.
It's been 3 days now since Natasha and Leonora found the hidden world. "Why don't you come back to berk with us" Natasha said as she got Red ready to go back to berk. "I can't this is my home" Y/N said as she sighed. "Well then we're staying here" Leonora said causing Natasha to look at her in shock. "What you can't be serious" Natasha said and Leonora looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Oh I'm dead serious" Leonora said and Natasha was about to speak when Y/N took a step towards them. "You can't stay you have a village to run" Y/N said and Leonora scoffed before rolling her eyes. "I have to say something I never wanted to be a chief it's stressful I'd rather spend the rest of my life here free instead of going back to berk and being called every 2 seconds for something stupid" Leonora said as she folded her arms. "Well then I'm staying too" Natasha said as she took off Red's saddle and threw it. "You guys ca-" Y/N was cut off when a gronckle shoved Y/N towards the two redheads causing her to trip. Leonora caught her before smirking down at her. "Oh come on darling let us stay we know you like us being here or you would have fought us by now" Leonora teased and Y/N shoved Leonora away before folding her arms. "Fine whatever you can stay I don't care" Y/N huffed out before she walked away. The two redheads smirked as they looked at each other. They bumped their fists together before looking ahead.

The Bond Unbreakable
"Everyone knows the story, a boy who wouldn't kill a dragon, the first, well second. We were the first to fly them, and we are the last. (Hiccup places his head on toothless' then tells him to go) but the story everyone knows isn't quite the truth. Many stopped believing we were human even before the dragons left, we rode them and we flew like them, we did the impossible. The truth is we didn't stop being human until that night. (Astrid and Hiccup are laying together in a clearing in the woods by a cliff staring at the moon as a shadow passes quickly over it) it all starts that night and we had just barely mange to escape the crowd of drunk vikings having left the visiting Dagger and Mala in charge, they were there for Astrid's and I's wedding, and to see off the last their dragons, our allies had gathered in the islands around us so we could protect the dragons by keeping others away.(the GREAT Protecter is seen flying over the ocean, as the berserkers say their farewells to their dragons) We had escaped to a small clearing just a little ways from the village with an over look of the sea, we found just a few weeks before and I had snuck a bedding set over just before the wedding. We lay there just enjoying each other's company as we watched the moon. We were just finishing a deep kiss when Astrid pointed out the shadow that had just crossed the moon, "It's probably just a stray dragon, ", I pointed out,'there were still a few that hadn't stopped leaving The Hidden World.'
"But", I started She just smirked and flipped me on my back, sitting on me she then kissed me again. My shirt was already off and her's was halfway when something landed behind us. We quickly fixed our clothes before turning around to see a very anxious and worried looking Toothless. He had brought the other's dragons to get them as well.
"What's wrong bud, did something happen", I asked after he had basically thrown me on to his back Astrid climbing on behind me as I did.
"Do you thinking someone else found it", she asked as Toothless took off.
" I don't know, something has Toothless on edge though, so much so that he came for our help" I answered.
"It must be pretty bad he even brought the twins", she said pointing to the other dragons rising from New Berk.
"Yeh he even brought us", repeated Tuffnut, It wasn't just the twins they had collected the all the riders my bud really trusted Fishlegs, Snotlout, Heather, and Dagger, Mala, and my mother.
"Do have any idea why they're here Hiccup", Mother asked.
"No, but something is definitely wrong", I said.
"Ha, maybe that lightfury mate of his got smart left him for something smarter", said Snotlout to which Toothless growled threateningly.
"Should of just left him", Astrid said to Toothless.
"You know he might actually be on to something", I said only to get a *huh* and to be hit by one of Toothless' ears," not about her leaving you, she in trouble isn't she bud?" He cooed in response telling me my guess was right.
"So that's what happened, but what could have happened to make him think he needed to get us", said Fishlegs.
"I don't know, but what ever it is they need our help", I said we flew in silence the rest of the proof that even the twins were worried. There was a small gasp of awe from the others as we entered the nest, but it didn't really steady anyone's nevers. Our speed continued rising even as we zoomed into the nest, before coming to screeching halt, just out side a small cave carved into the large glowing stone Astrid and I had seen Toothless on the last time we were here.
" is she in there?", I asked him, he cooed before looking a the cave and edging forward carefully.
"Somethings in there, and what ever it is it's scaring the dragons", said Astrid I just nodded before following Toothless. The inside of the cave was dark and smooth, like something someone had carved, I wasn't even sure it was stone it almost seemed like metal.
"This is not natural", said Mala as she rubbed her hand across the wall.
"She's right this stone or what ever it is is smooth and cold like ice, or metal. Not even you could make something like this Brother", followed Dagger before laughing nervously.
"Loki is probably behind this", offered Fishlegs. To which the twins smile brightly before saying.
"Oh thank you oh great Loki for finding in your heart to prank us your great followers", stated Ruffnut as Tuff nodded happily behind her.
"Oh gods, I hope this isn't a prank from Loki", states Heather.
"It probably isn't otherwise we be some small animal by now", said Astrid.
"Or have fish heads", I joked.
"Come on guys this is no time for that, you don't want to get cursed do you", said Fishlegs.
"Fishlegs is right", said Heather.
"Aww but we do", said the twins together to which everyone shook their heads. We walked farther in to the cave before we realized that of the dragons only Toothless was still with us his ears swaying nervously as we walked. Half way through the tunnel a line down the ceiling started to glow.
"Oh Thor... Oh Thor", Fishlegs repeated nervously. As we walked deeper a new light flickered into existence. Continuing we started to notice what looked like doors, but they would open on there own, sliding upwards when we approached them. Then we heard it, a dragon call and it was definitely the lightfury, as soon as we heard it Toothless took off running towards the sound. We chased after him and found her in one of the rooms; trapped by an invisible wall. Toothless rushed forward and was stopped by it as well, that's how we new it was there.
"Oh gods", exclaimed Astrid as we all panicked slightly excepting the twin; who were laughing there heads off.
"Everyone calm down and try not to touch anything", I stated.
"Um brother you don't think this might actually be loki's handy work do you", asked a slightly nervous Dagger before we heard a beep. We turned to see the twin messing with a board covered in buttons.
"Didn't I just say not to touch anything", I exclaimed as a glowing woman made of light appeared in the center of the room." modus operandi er na- húrin, minn- code eneg-toloth-tád na commence", she said in a language we could not understand. "Lamb ú- recognise adjusting. " by the time she finshed her second sentence we could understand her.
In surprise Fishlegs had backed up and tripped over a lever pushing it down just as the twins slammed their hands on the board shouting nonsense.
" hicctoz mína groncnats", they yelled, Ruff said the first then Tuff, and then together."procedure beginning", the lady said before disappearing. Soon more of the invisible wall appeared separating us into groups of two.
"Hiccup", Astrid yelled as she banged on the walk separating us the wall separating her from the lightfury was gone, not that it mattered as they were both trying to get through to me and Toothless. Pulling out my sword I lit it before trying to cut through the wall, it wasn't working. I took a step back and looked around the room, Dagger and Snotlout were together, as were my Mother and Mala, twin together as well, and Fishlegs was with Heather. I looked over at Astrid and noticed a purplish Gas rising from the floor.
"Everyone calm down, and try not to breathe in to much of that gas*cough*", I yelled to be sure that they heard me. But it was to late the room was already almost full of the gas, no matter how we tried we were already starting to breathe it in. The little bit that I had inhaled already had my head spinning, I couldn't think straight, but just in case I put out my sword before trying to stab it into the ground under the wall. I watched as the others collapsed, Astrid leaned against the wall and put her hand up to mine just before she passed out. My head spinning I just sat against the wall and tried to see the others but the purple gas was blocking them from me.
"*cough* I don't *cough* know wh*cough* what this is bu*cough*bud, but *cough* we'll *cough* mak.... It", I muttered as Toothless laid his head in my lap. My entire body felt numb, as something dragged me in to a small room just a bit bigger than me before I felt something stab me before I passed out..
Small wires moved across the floor to the unconscious Vikings and slowly pulled them in to separate tubes. Most of the tubes were nearly identical, except for a few differing broken parts, except two both of which were a set of two tubes connected together with one much larger than the other. As soon as the Vikings were in them the tubes sealed shut. Hiccup groans as a set of 10 syringes injects him with a strange substance, it is the same for the others, but unlike him, Astrid and the dragons, they have only four intact syringes and unlike Astrid's his had not been disconnected from the full tank by damage. Long after the other tubes stop his and Toothless' are still going, as the injection stops the tube then takes some of his and Toothless' blood and mix them together before adding them to a new chemical and injecting it into them with a small current of electricity. As the electricity flows through their bodies Hiccup's eyes open slightly his green eye seem brighter then normal closer to the color of Toothless' before his pupils slit looking like the eyes of a dragon, they dim and return to normal before he passes out. As soon as the process ends the dragons that did not follow them come rushing in having heard their alphas call, the tubes have released them so the dragons take all of the unconscious Vikings, but Hiccup who smells like one of them and Astrid who smelled like him back to New Berk.
How to train your dragons immortality Au/fix it except moves one to three happened exactly as they show. Then Hiccup and the others get super powers.
Twins- speed and are fireproof
Snotlout & Dagger- strength & regeneration Heather & Fishlegs- eidetic memory & telekinesis
Mala & Valka- Agility & they are as light as birds
Astrid- All
Hiccup & Toothless- all plus telepathic bond
They all stop aging, Gobber stopped aging as well because he decided to taste the strange goo that was on the others skin when they returned. Hiccup and Astrid returned to New Berk in a weeks time. They didn't notice they had stopped aging until years later.

Reasons why Jim Lake jr is Hiccup's descendant (and not tom he can go eat shit)
The httyd world and TOA world might be in the same universe.
Astrid once mentioned trolls and used them as an insult "son of a half-troll rock eating!—" and Gobber also said "Trolls exist! They steal and eat your socks, but only the left ones"
Familiar right? Trolls in the TOA world are attached to socks and those are their meals and snacks.
Gnomes and trolls also exist when hiccup stated "that it'll scare gnomes and trolls"
In the Trollhunters museum we can see that Stoick's helmet along with the Viking ship placed in the museum, while his sword was in the hero's Forge. The yaknog jug Astrid carried also appeared in Trollhunters. (The episode where blinky and the others went into Gato's mouth)
Jim's Armor also shares much similarities to Httyd's armors.
Charlemagne isn't much old to exist in the Viking years. He and other dragons could've probably evolved through the years as he looks more of a troll-dragon mix.
Sentinels are also stone creatures (dragons) made out of LIVING stone (much like Trolls), this could be the ancestors of The troll dragons from ROTT movie and also evolved through the years that they could adapt not just rocks and stones but also gems and crystals for skin. The only problem is Sentinel's can survive in the sun while trolls can't, which leads to my other theory.
(sentinel and troll dragon theory) Troll dragons might be the offspring of a sentinel and Troll forming a hybrid that's called The troll dragons. And throughout the years these troll dragons have adapted other environments which made them only not have rock/stone for skin but also gems and crystals.
Now moving on to Jim and Hiccup.
But how is Jim Hiccup's descendant?
— Jim and Hiccup share similarities. (A lot) Jim and Hiccup are both goofy but have a brave heart, they both would sacrifice themselves for their loved ones. They will do everything just to accomplish what they desire. (They're also very embarrassing to be around their crush *cough* Astrid and Claire)
Both grew up being good at weaponry. They were both struck at lightning. Not to mention they kinda look alike and Young hiccup used to Hunt trolls, and Jim in the books was in a blood line of Troll hunters
Barbara's side of family is probably Hiccup's blood continuing, Barbara (somehow) lowkey has potential being a relative to hiccup (both are brunette's too, and her blue eyes match Astrid's) Barbara also looks (not a lot, but it works) like Valka. (Zephyr also had brown hair and blue eyes.)
The troll-market looks identical to the hidden world as it has many glowing/magic crystals/gems and other stones. (The heart stone looks like the giant crystal that the light furry and toothless made their roars as the queen and king of dragons in the hidden world)
And in the first episode of the Trollhunters Toothless made a cameo as an easter egg and wallpaper for jim's laptop.
The book of dragons would be a historical artifact that's probably laying on Charlemagne's Cave (i forgot what it's called lol)
Maces and Talons also made an appearance with Blinky and Draal.
Arcane Order
—This could also mean that the bird-dragon like mask that Bellroc wore was from a dragon they probably slayed.
The bewilder beast might have been created by Skrael's magic (these demi gods have long life and magic and they would create anything they wanted) Skrael probably thought of creating a creature that would inherit his Ice based magic.
And I have photos for proof but they don't seem to upload and idk why

Where do you live in The Tectomancy Saga?
Pick what sounds nicest from the options below to find out which major settlement you live in from the world of The Tectomancy Saga!
Locations and descriptions unveiled below the cut!
1. Leirsham
You live in the ringed city of Leirsham, the human capital. It's built into a hilly island, raised out of Lake Simul a millenia ago by King Artol Tectus. The city falls in tiers, rings around the island divided by walls; The docks and storehouses; the merchants' district; the residential area; the academics district; the upper city, and the palace. As a hub of human trade and travel across the gigantic lake, it's always bustling!
2. The Genom University
The Genomic people take 'university city' very seriously. The entire city is a university filled with lecture halls and libraries and laboratories, where Genemos study hoping to attain their people's divine magic through rigorous scientific research. Its central feature is the archive, a library where all of Genomic history is stored - through the power of conjuration, this is quite literal. It is said that entire historic buildings can be summoned from the archive.
3. Ipurrol
Ipurrol lies in Versewelt, near the edge of the world. It was cut off from the rest of human civilisation 400 years ago, when a plague swept the land, turning its victims into various forms of bloodthirsty ghoul. Those who remain have learned to live with their condition and keep living on, rebuilding their community together. The Vismoores are the local nobles, who live alone in the castle that looms over the village - even among oddities, those two are odd.
4. Athyran
You live in the Alvian city of Athyran. On its surface, surrounded by desert, its grand architecture dazzles tourists, and baffles them by appearing to be abandoned; most of the city resides below the surface in cool caves, hidden by an illusion. The buildings extend below the earth, making it a forest of towers among glowing formations of crystals. Their cuisine is quite mushroom-heavy. This city represents the centre of the 'pattern' which Alvians bury their dead in across their lands.
5. North's Edge
North of human lands, in arctic tundra, wintery wastes, and snow-covered rocky mountains, the Droichs live in peaceful alliance with Dragons. The Dragons fled from humanity, their former allies, 900 years ago, and formed a partnership with Droichs. The Droichs mine to maintain the dragon's scales and hides with metal and stone; the Dragons serve as defence and transportation for the Droichs. They make their home nestled into a cave-pocked ravine, where Dragons and their Droichish riders gather around the fire together.
6. Hell
The Demonic city of Hell is far below the suface, near the very axis of the world. Its sloping side is marred with holes like a honeycomb, through which the swirling blue mists of the edge of the world creep. Lit by glowing plants and lava flows, the city is built into the rock like a warren, with only gothic spires and roofs peeking out above the ground. Due to the Demonic magic of enchantment, you have to be very careful who you talk to and what you say. Demons though, have this down to a fine art, and natter endlessly to each other.
7. The Hollow
Formally 'Colossus' Hollow', because it looks like a giant kicked a huge hole in a hill and people built a city there. Sat on the border between human lands and Alvian ones, and with a clear view to the Arboric Ocean, just about anyone and everyone could turn up there. With nobody quite able to lay a claim to its leadership, it is more-or-less ruled by an organised crime gang known as 'The Robes'. Their own operations take place in other cities, but their rules for everyone else just say "If you fuck this place up for everyone else, we're coming for your head."
8. Gorzlun Kudh
One of the largest Orken communities; its name means 'Risen City'. Made almost entirely of drenchwood, a form of moisture-resistant wood, it rises out of a great swamp on thick stilts. It is home to the Oracles, wizened Orken elders who have practised the art of future-sight for centuries. It is also home to the battle-mothers, and their endless raiding gangs of battle-sisters. Most older Orkus remember a time when it was not like this. They farmed, they relaxed, they made things with their hands, and they helped their neighbours. Maybe one day it'll be like that again.
