: ̗̀➛ You first meet Yugi at his Grandfather’s Game Shop.
: ̗̀➛ You were a new duelist looking for a set of cards to start your journey.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi had never seen you around before. You didn’t go to his university and when he was in school, he hadn’t seen you there either. Nevertheless, his mouth became dry and his face flushed the second you walked through the door.
: ̗̀➛ You explained to Yugi your situation. The tri-colour haired male had offered you help to create a formidable deck. He picked out all sorts of monster, spells and trap cards.
: ̗̀➛ “Thank you so much Mr….” You trailed off, realising you hadn’t gotten his name.
: ̗̀➛ “Moto. Yugi Moto,” he said proudly.
: ̗̀➛ You went pale. THE King Of Games?!
: ̗̀➛ Yugi couldn’t help but feel his heart beat faster as your lips curved up to offer him a shy smile.
: ̗̀➛ “What’s your name?” He asked, wanting to keep you there for a few minutes longer.
: ̗̀➛ “Y/N,” you replied.
: ̗̀➛ “It’s nice to meet you Y/N,” Yugi smiled and offered out his hand for you to shake.
: ̗̀➛ From that day on, Yugi was seeing you everywhere. It was like he couldn’t escape you both in his mind and in reality.
: ̗̀➛ He told his friends about you, the beautiful woman that had come into his Grandfather’s shop in search of the perfect deck. Of course Yugi’s friends continuously encouraged him to ask you out the next time he saw you.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi was unsure of what to do. He wanted to ask you out, he really did, but he was afraid of rejection.
: ̗̀➛ The next time Yugi saw you was, once again, in his Grandfather’s Game Shop.
: ̗̀➛ You walked in in a huff, looking distressed. Yugi became immediately worried upon seeing your distressed expression. “Y/N… What’s wrong?” He asked as he made his way to the front of the counter.
: ̗̀➛ “I can’t play this stupid game!” You groaned, throwing your cards on the floor in a pile.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi was slightly taken back by your… tantrum.
: ̗̀➛ “You can. Everyone can. The trick is to believe in the heart of the cards!” Yugi replied.
: ̗̀➛ “The heart of the what?” You asked, crinkling your nose up in confusion.
: ̗̀➛ “The heart of the cards!” Yugi said, pausing before continuing. “As long as you believe in your cards, and have faith in them, you can never truly lose.”
: ̗̀➛ You stared at Yugi as if he had three heads. You watched as he slowly bent down and scooped up your cards into a neat little pile, passing them to you with a gentle smile on his face.
: ̗̀➛ “I can teach you,” Yugi offered.
: ̗̀➛ You were shocked.
: ̗̀➛ “You? The King Of Games? Teach me? A nobody?”
: ̗̀➛ You couldn’t help but laugh slightly out of surprise, but when you looked at Yugi and saw a serious expression on his face, you halted the laughter immediately.
: ̗̀➛ “I guess it couldn’t hurt…” You mumbled, shuffling your feet on the floor.
: ̗̀➛ “Great. We’ll start tomorrow.”
: ̗̀➛ The next day, at noon, you met Yugi at the Game Shop. He started by teaching you the basics of the game, what sorts of monsters did what, what spells and traps did what etc etc. You were listening intently, making mental note of all the things Yugi was saying to you. From that day on, the two of you became inseparable.
: ̗̀➛ The next few weeks flew by so quickly, it was as if you had just blinked. With Yugi’s teachings you were becoming increasingly better at the game of Duel Monsters. By no means were you an expert, but you were getting better.
: ̗̀➛ “That was a great game! Well done!” Yugi encouraged. He felt his breath hitch in his throat as you offered him a warm smile in return.
: ̗̀➛ You see, over the last few weeks, Yugi had developed feelings for you and more than just the initial crush he had on you when you had first walked into the Game Shop. He was falling in love with you. You had gotten to learn all about him and in turn, he had gotten to learn all about you.
: ̗̀➛ His friends words constantly echoed in his head: “ask her out Yug’! What’s the worst that could happen?” So, Yugi took the plunge.
: ̗̀➛ “Say Y/N…” he said, watching as you placed your deck of cards in your pocket and hand him the duel disk he so kindly lent you. You looked at him and tilted your head to the side as if to say ‘yes’. “Would you… Maybe… Like to accompany me to dinner? Tonight?”
: ̗̀➛ You were surprised to say the least but didn’t think of it as anything more than a friendly dinner. “Sure,” you smiled.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi was shocked at your willingness to have dinner with him, but tried to keep it cool. He watched as you left the Game Shop and immediately began preparing for the evening. He booked a reservation at his favourite restaurant and dressed up all fancy for you.
: ̗̀➛ When you turned up at the Game Shop at 7pm, like you had agreed, Yugi was breath taken by your appearance. He always thought you were beautiful but there was something about tonight… He couldn’t put his finger on it, you looked even more stunning than usual.
: ̗̀➛ When you arrived at the restaurant, Yugi immediately found a candle-lit table in the corner of the room and led you to it, pulling out the chair from the table and offering you a seat.
: ̗̀➛ You blushed as he did this, a gesture you had never had from anybody before.
: ̗̀➛ Throughout the night, he ordered you some of his favourite foods and you just talked about anything and everything. You learnt even more about him, about how he got so good at card games, his family life… everything.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi found himself falling further and further in love with you as the night went on.
: ̗̀➛ Eventually, the two of you left the restaurant and Yugi walked you home.
: ̗̀➛ When you reached your home, Yugi took your hand in his. “I had fun with you tonight,” he stuttered. “We should do it again.”
: ̗̀➛ You grinned, your heart fluttering against your chest at the thought of dining with him again. You nodded excitedly.
: ̗̀➛ “Can I… Can I kiss you?” He asked. His eyes widened as soon as the words left his lips, but before he could take it back you pressed your lips to his firmly.
: ̗̀➛ Immediately, Yugi closed his eyes, letting himself fall further into the moment. His hands rubbed your forearms comfortingly and you hummed into the kiss.
: ̗̀➛ When you pulled away, you looked into Yugi’s eyes and bit your lip. “I liked that,” you smiled.
: ̗̀➛ He laughed. “I liked that too.”
: ̗̀➛ You said goodnight and walked into your home with a racing heart and red face.
: ̗̀➛ The next few weeks were filled with dates and surprises from Yugi but your Duel Monsters training never stopped. In fact, he seemingly pushed you harder, but this time would give you kisses as rewards.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi introduces you to his friends a week after your first date. His heart is just so full of love that he has to introduce you to the people he cares about the most in the world.
: ̗̀➛ His friends immediately become your friends. You click with them so well, it was as if you had known them all your whole life.
: ̗̀➛ News got out about you dating the King Of Games and soon enough, you both become the ‘Duel Monsters power couple’. Even though you were nowhere near as good as Yugi, wherever his name went, yours did too.
: ̗̀➛ His Grandfather absolutely adores you. He also teaches you a thing or two about Duel Monsters.
: ̗̀➛ You move in with Yugi and his Grandfather a few months into your relationship. It was Yugi’s idea, but you were more than willing to agree. You just wanted to be around him.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi proposes to you early on too. He has never met someone he had been in love with before, and he never wanted to ever again. You’re the woman of his dreams and he doesn’t want to let you go.
: ̗̀➛ You get pregnant before you get married. You end up having a baby boy and Yugi wants to call him Solomon, after his Grandfather. You agree, but end up calling him ‘Sol’ for short.
: ̗̀➛ Having a baby is NOT easy, so you and Yugi focus on raising baby Sol before anything. You decide to get married when Solomon is five years old.
: ̗̀➛ The ceremony is lovely, filled with both of your friends and family.
: ̗̀➛ Afterwards, you have a party that ends late into the night.
: ̗̀➛ Yugi and yourself head back to a hotel, with Yugi’s Grandfather taking care of your son.
: ̗̀➛ You and Yugi go on to have two more children, of which you get to name.
: ̗̀➛ You live happily ever after with the King Of Games.

Hi, can you do a pov of the yu-gi-oh boys finding out you’re pregnant
(I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO GET TO! I love this idea, Anon! {as if I didn't have a good enough excuse to have baby fever XD})
Finding Out You're Pregnant (Yu-Gi-Oh Boys x Female reader)
Tumblr media
Yugi Moto
If Yugi's being honest with himself, he's always dreamed of having a family with you since the two of you started dating five years prior
But, since you wanted to wait until the two of you were married, he respected that wish, showing his affection in any way he could think of (flowers just because, kisses and hugs and gentle touches that he knew made you melt)
Once the two of you were married, though...
Let's just say that night was pretty damn spicy
Fast forward about 2 months
You'd been feeling extremely nauseous lately, most days beginning either with that feeling or by throwing up.
When talking to Téa about your symptoms, she suggested taking a pregnancy test
Yugi, like the sweetheart he is, waited outside your shared bathroom, pacing a little bit
He couldn't help it, he was nervous!
But, when you came out of the bathroom a few minutes later and showed him the test result, he went from nervous to elated.
"We're gonna have a baby... We're gonna be parents!"
Does one of those moves where he picks you up and spins you before kissing you and your stomach
Good luck convincing Yugi to get you to do anything for the next 6 months or so lol, he can and will pamper you during your pregnancy
Tumblr media
Yami Yugi/ Pharaoh Atem
Unlike Yugi, he hadn't really given kids much thought
But, he noticed the way your eyes lingered on children running past while the two of you were dating
After about two years, the question came up in a conversation the two of you had about the future
He admitted that he hadn't thought about it, but that he loved you and if he were to have children, he wanted them to be with you
About 2 years later, the two of you were married, and anxiously waiting for the results of a pregnancy test
Atem held you close, in that moment, he felt nervous
Even if that result did pop up with a positive, that wouldn't mean that he would be a good father...
When you saw the results, you were thrilled, but you saw the doubt in his eyes
You snapped him out of his thoughts with a touch, reminding him of the feats he's accomplished, and that any child would be lucky to have him as a father
It didn't really hit for him until he got to hold the baby in his arms 9 months later
The nurse had showed him how to hold a baby before placing the little one in his arms
It was pretty hilarious seeing him tense up with a look like a deer in headlights
But... The more he held the baby in his arms, the softer that look became and the more relaxed he was
"I promise my son/daughter... I'll do everything I can to protect you" He promised before gently kissing the baby's forehead
Overall, just a big softie for his little prince/princess
Tumblr media
Joey Wheeler
Believe me, with all my heart, I wanna say that Joey was calm and collected when he found out, but... He wasn't (the picture is pretty close to his reaction, honestly)
Joey has always wanted kids, don't get me wrong
Buuuut, he wasn't expecting to have kids this early
For context, you guys were two years into the relationship, but you'd used protection
The only problem is that the one specific time in question fell into the 3 percentile that condoms aren't effective....
He was in a panic when he found out
"Huh?! But, we used protection an' all dat... Didn't we?"
When he looked at you, you were crying, which only made him panic more
"No, no, no, baby, don't cry. It's gonna be all right. We'll figure this out togetha, I promise."
True to his word, he was at every Dr's appointment, every checkup, and at your side every moment of the delivery
All the while during the pregnancy, much like Atem, he was extremely nervous about being a father
He didn't exactly have the best father to compare to....
But, all those doubts faded away when that baby was placed in his arms for the first time
He smiled softly, a smile that told you he was gonna be a sucker for his kid
Good luck getting the baby away from him, because he wants to be there all the time
Tumblr media
Seto Kaiba
As for Kaiba....
He's a CEO and a Duel Monsters Champion, he doesn't have time for kids
Except for Mokuba, but that's his brother...
So, when you found out you were pregnant, you were understandably nervous and afraid
Afraid that the worst would happen, that Seto would leave you and want nothing to do with his child
While your fears were understandable, you forgot that Seto Kaiba has a soft spot for his loved ones, you especially
You tried to avoid him, but a couple days of that had him pinning you against the wall in his office to get you to talk to him
He was worried about you, and asked you what was going on, telling you to be honest with him
He was more alarmed when you broke down
Through tears, you told him you were pregnant, and he was the father
He held you close to him, his heart breaking when you begged him not to leave you
"I'm not going anywhere." He made you look at him. "I won't lie, the thought of being a father scares me... But, I promise, I'm going to do everything I can to be the best father I can be."
Seto Kaiba is, above all things, a man of his word
When Seto wasn't around, Mokuba helped you out, and you better believe that baby's been spoiled since before their birth...
Once he held the baby for the first time (ngl, the sight of his giraffe self cradling a tiny baby is both endearing and hilarious), it was hook, line and sinker
Safe to say, he ended up being a better father than he gave himself credit for
(Again, I'm SO sorry this took a while! But, hopefully you enjoy it!)

A Kiss to Save a Life
Tumblr media
Mention of death and blood.
Billows of smoke rose from the ruins surrounding you. In the distance faint screams of people falling victim to collapsing homes or being devoured by horrendous monsters who had been summoned forth by the towering looming figure approaching with earth quaking footfalls could be heard. As if night had fallen, the sky above your head was covered in a heavy blanket of darkness, leaving only the devouring flames as sources of light. You rose on shaking legs as the monstrous beast boasted with laughter as a single lone figure who had been standing against it fell to lay motionless upon the ground. Desperation filled you as they’re golden light flickered dangerously, like a candle’s flame about to become extinguished, and ignored the burning pain that was demanding you cease all movement to instead break into a sprint. Something lashed across your back that caused crimson droplets to splatter within your vision but it too was ignored. Burning flesh, stink of monster and human feces, and toxic miasma were burning your senses yet your tear filled gaze never once strayed from the fallen figure.
How had this happened?
As if to answer, a chortle of laughter came from the giant monster who came to a halt as if to watch your struggle. “Pitiful mortal. Struggle no more and succumb to my minions. All hope is lost now that he has fallen.”
Words that were meant to dishearten only made your bare feet move faster until something collided with your side that sent you rolling off course. A monster with three jaws attempted to target your jugular but it was thwarted by the appearance of familiar beast whose coat shone brilliantly despite the dirt and blood clinging to its lithe form. “Beset!” Your shrill cry was drowned out by the monster’s dying howl courtesy of the feline-like beast’s own attack. The tears spilling down your cheek grew when it discarded the deceased beast with a low growl before turning its attention to you, its nose lightly bumping against your leg you could no longer feel. Though appearing as an over large feline this beast was in fact a special fusion which bestowed upon it a pair of mighty wings which had often allowed you to traverse several leagues of distance; they were, however, broken and useless courtesy of the dislocated joints at their base which were littered with bite marks. “I am alright, Beset, but I need to go to him.” Its forehead met your own. “Please, take me to him.” Without hesitation the winged feline bent so as to slide you upon its back and became a blur to those who struggled for survival amongst Egypt’s fallen empire.
Your worst fears were realized though when after jumping over multiple obstacles and dodging several attacks the trusty spirit beast collapsed mere feet from his fallen form, causing you to tumble head over heel until crumbling into a heap within the dirt. He wasn’t moving, it didn’t look as though he were breathing, and no member from the royal court were within sight. Throat to strained from dirt and strain, your nails dug themselves into the ground in desperation as the sap of strength told of Beset’s return to the monster realm. Just a little farther…
Every centimeter felt like a mile as you struggled against each wave of fear and hopelessness threatening to steal away your hope.
Almost there…
The tears spilling from your eyes was making things swim out of focus…
Have to reach him…
Scuffed metal met the pads of your fingers. Polished gold was now cracked and tarnished, pristine white tunic was clinging to his form by means of a few threads, his upper torso completely bare for your eyes to behold each blood oozing wound upon his form and bruise blooming across his tanned skin, wild tri-colored hair even more so as his head lolled despite your best efforts to cradle it. “I am h-here,” you croaked while using every muscle in your exhausted body to turn him over and rest his head within your lap. Protectively, you shielded his being to the best of your ability when a large foot impacted the ground mere kilometers from where the two of you lay. Never had you been so scared in your life as Zorc the Dark One fixed his gaze upon you. Pure unadulterated evil was staring back, causing your blood to grow cold the longer your gazes held.
“R…run…”
Your head shook despite the trembling that had come over you. Those darkness filled eyes were causing the heart in your chest to slow from its racing pace. Almost as if stealing the very life force from your body. If you didn’t look away soon, you’d likely shrivel into a dried husk!
A calloused palm met your cheek, coaxing your gaze to finally break away from the monster’s to instead meet weary pomegranate. “Please…you must run…I cannot defeat him…” There was despair within his eyes, something that made your gut twist painfully when finding no other emotion within their depths. “…Forgive…me…”
One of your own hands rose to gently cup his own that was upon your cheek, giving it a squeeze. “My faith in you shall never wane, my beloved, this you know.” The dip of your head caused your foreheads to meet. The smile that raised your lips was meant to be encouraging yet it only made his facial features contort with grief when blood trickled from your nose. “I give you my everything, for I know that none can stop the Dark One’s advances. The world will suffer if he is not stopped here and now. The hope I hold is as endless as Nyx’s cloak, Atem, so have faith in yourself as I bestow upon you the last gift I can ever give.”
Whatever protest that he made to voice was cutoff by the gentle sealing of your lips over his. The lids of your eyes closed when droplets of moisture gathered within the corners of his own, attempting to steel yourself against knowing you were causing those tears of his. It was all you could do to keep hold of his form when he weakly struggled. However you held fast despite your injuries. His life force was depleted dangerously due to summoning the Egyptian gods who had been rendered to statues and it would normally take extensive amount of time for replenishing.
There was no time for that. Not today. You’d been studying in secret with Mahad and Mana as your teachers to the lost arts of magic. In a battle you were left helpless despite the impressive beasts that could be summoned but you’d insisted they teach you on transference of life energy just in case of emergencies. The promise of only using it in dire circumstances had been made once learning the spell and this was as good as any time to perform it.
Darkness rose to claim you as every ounce of strength slipped from your body like sand, leaving you limp and exhausted, yet you didn’t release him until breathing became too much for your body to handle. Warm built beneath your fingers in place of chilling cold, confirming that he was in fact receiving your life force and energy. Even the wounds you’d felt had grown scabs that would be aid in preventing infection. Just a little more was given, allowing his grasp to tighten enough to convey his want to stop you, and it was as the last drop of mana you held passed like a droplet of water trickling down a flower’s stem. “I…believe…” The departure of your lips gave rise to the last breath that earned his anguished cry, his hands and arms latching around you as the connection between body and spirit snapped audibly.
“(Y/n)!”
And your world was swallowed in a bright white light.
A breeze caressed your face as the call of your name came from the left. The voice was familiar, making a flutter rise within your chest when opening your eyes, and gaped when finding the magnificent structure that was the palace before you with glittering gold reflecting the high noon sun within a cloudless sky. People were bustling about in earnest as if preparing for a feast or celebration, streamers and ribbons of bright vivid colors diverting your attention first to the right then the left until you refocused upon the path leading inwards as the call of your name came again.
The blood stained battlefield you’d just been upon felt no more than a bad dream as you began walking. Trenches of crystalline water offered cooler rest areas for all who needed within the shades of tall trees, water lilies floating delicately within and creating ripples when the wind chose to play. Bustling conversations and coos of animals as they worked filled the air as your footsteps paused before the stairway’s beginning. You knew the palace like the back of your hand so this wasn’t the first time you’d traversed its seemingly endless ascent.
Yet something was making you hesitate.
As if something important was missing.
Up to your bosom a hand rose to find it unmoving. Not that you were surprised at all. There was no possible way you could’ve survived a full life transference spell; no one could.
Two familiar female servants, one with golden locks and the other silver, appeared on either side of the staircase to lead you off to the west hallway. Sandstone obscured the sun’s golden rays yet their decorated paintings were more than enough for you to realize where exactly they were leading you to. At the end of the hall lay a room you had nearly forgotten its appearance. The servants however did not let you loose even for a moment. They assisted in taking away the rags clinging to your form, bringing to your attention of just how filthy you’d become as they gently washed every spec of grime and dirt from your skin, then clothed you in the finest of silk and chiffon that was found within an exquisite wardrobe to the window’s side. Only then did they bow then depart to leave you alone.
To the windowsill you went without care, easily sliding your legs over its sill and treading lightly while balancing upon the wall below. You’d done this so many times that it no longer required conscious thought or worry. On their own, your feet moved swiftly towards the north; up the slope without fail, a tight turn, hop over the opening that was entrance to the room below, sneakily slipping past the quarters that were known as the High Priest’s private chambers, until coming to a stop beside the gate marked with a water droplet and water lily.
The conclusion you’d come to of this being the afterlife had been confirmed courtesy of the people you’d passed before entering the palace. Several had been deceased for at least a few years while others were by more than a decade. Seeing and experiencing all of this, including the sudden healing of your body and lack of pain, could only mean that you have also met your end.
“All is well,” a voice said to your right. The briefest glances revealed that Mahad was closely watching you from a pillar’s shadow as several guards and servants awaited his instructions. “They are preparing for the mighty pharaoh’s return. Best to be on your way now. Best not to keep his highness waiting.”
From beyond the gate came the call of your name, one that made your being warm and lips lift into a smile, and through the gate you went without need of more encouragement from the master mage who watched with a knowing gaze. Your nose was met with the scents of water lily and fresh water, along with several others that threatened to distract you, yet all attention became fixated upon the figure who slowly materialized ahead of you within the garden’s central spring. There was no doubt within your mind of who it was and this time your smile became one of genuine joy when their hands fell to your waist before hoisting you upwards while spinning on their heel.
He swept you within a tight embrace the moment your feet met stone, lean arms decorated with gold keeping you close as your own wrapped around his neck and torso. “Beloved,” Atem whispered while nuzzling into your being, “to see you once more is truly Ra’s blessing. After so much time has passed…I am thankful to find you here, awaiting me.”
Tears began trickling down your cheeks like twin rivers as you clung to him. “Forgive me, my pharaoh, I see that my strength was not nearly enough to assist in your battle though I gave you all I possessed. Yet here you are, arriving not long after me.”
“Hush, now, (Y/n). You are not to blame for events that can no longer be changed.” He gently soothed, retreating so as to clean your face with gentle fingers. Those pomegranate eyes of his shone brightly with adoration and several other emotions that you couldn’t hope to identify as he took in your appearance. “You fought valiantly, beloved, and your strength gave me courage beyond what I can express gratitude for. It was only with your encouragement and bravery could I have accomplished the otherwise impossible. I have much to tell you that I am unsure of where to start. I wish to naught be away from you from this moment farther and to save you from hearing such a nightmarish tale. However that would not be fair. You have my word, my promise, that I shall tell you all.” A tilt of his head caused your foreheads to meet, the lids of your eyes drifting closed as his did, allowing both of you to relish in the other’s company for a moment in silence, before loud trumpets caused the two of you to separate.
Amusement raised your lips into a smile as his head tilted ever so slightly with curiosity shining brightly within his gaze. “As if you need to ask. They have all been awaiting for you to join them, mighty pharaoh, and have prepared a magnificent celebration to honor your return.” Your fingers laced with his tanned own, earning a blink from the man as you gave a light tug. “Best to not keep them waiting.”
“Before we go…”
Your smile fell at the serious tone he used. “What is it?”
A glint appeared within his gaze a split second before his arm snaked around your hips, a hand rising to tilt your chin upwards. “I must repay you for something very precious, (Y/n).”
The inquiry that rose up your throat was drowned by a soft sigh as his lips descended upon your own. At first they were gentle, light as a feather even, moving in a slow dance that sent shivers down your spine as you willingly caved beneath his assertiveness, until he released your mouth with a smirk when you could do little more than gaze up at him with lidded eyes. “Do feel free to repeat whenever you see fit,” you teased with a smirk of your own and winking while slipping from his grasp when the call of your combined names came from the distance, “however your cousin, Seto, demands our immediate attention.”
“True. It is best to not keep that one waiting for long.” And with a smile, he followed you to the nearby balcony that overlooked the palace’s courtyard and earned a roar of welcome from those who had gathered.

Don't ask how the millennium puzzle is doing that, I only remembered it after I was done with the line art and I didn't have a place to put it. Super proud of the hand though.
Anyway, I read a Yami x reader story on wattpad (I may be cringe, but I am free) called The Pharoah's Rose and oh. My. LORD it's so good! The reader's character actually felt like she belonged in the story! It was so cute! I need more flirty Yami!
Here's a favorite scene from it, during Pegasus' tournament
Tumblr media
Long post, but if you like Yami and are okay with the reader character being female, then you should go read it NOW!!

Seto Kaiba stood alone on the balcony of his luxurious office, gazing out at the city lights below. The clinking of glasses and distant chatter from the corporate party echoed faintly, but Kaiba was lost in his thoughts, a rarity for a man known for his sharp focus.
The object of his contemplation was not a state-of-the-art Duel Monsters technology or a groundbreaking business deal. No, it was the person who had managed to break through his meticulously constructed walls – you, his closest confidante (other than Mokuba) and an underling of the Kaiba Corporation.
As the night skyline stretched before him, Seto Kaiba couldn't shake the lingering thoughts that had invaded his mind lately. It wasn't the first time he had caught himself contemplating the nature of his feelings for you. You had been his closet friend, and the one person who had stood by him even when the duel of life had dealt its harshest blows.
However, emotions were uncharted territory for Kaiba. Dueling, business strategies, and innovation were his forte, but matters of the heart remained an enigma. He took a deep breath, his stoic expression betraying none of the internal conflict as he replayed the memories of your friendship.
The moment he met you, he saw something different. Your passion for Duel Monsters somehow mirrored his own, and your determination and drive matched his drive for success. It was in the way you challenged him, not just in duels, but in understanding the complexities of human connection.
He couldn't deny the unique bond that had formed between you two. There were shared victories, late-night strategy sessions, and moments of vulnerability that seemed reserved for just the two of you. In those rare instances when he allowed himself to be honest, Kaiba recognized that you were more than a friend. You were the one person who made him question the limits he had set for himself.
The party continued behind him, the laughter and clinking of glasses forming a distant melody. Kaiba turned away from the city lights, his attention shifting to the reflection of his stern expression in the glass.
He scoffed at himself, as if ridiculing the mere idea of emotions interfering with his carefully crafted world.
"Sentimentality is for the weak," he mumbled, a mantra he had repeated to himself countless times.
Despite the bravado, the truth lingered in the depths of his mind.
You were different.
The thought of seeing you with someone else ignited a spark of discomfort, an emotion he couldn't quite dismiss. It was a sentiment he refused to acknowledge, even to himself.
Determined to push aside these unfamiliar feelings, Kaiba strode back into the party. He greeted business associates and exchanged pleasantries, but his eyes scanned the room for one person—the one who had managed to disrupt his fortress of solitude.
And there you were, engaged in conversation with a colleague. A genuine smile adorned your face, and Kaiba couldn't help but marvel at how effortlessly you navigated social situations. He approached, his demeanor composed, masking the internal turmoil.
"Mr. Kaiba! Glad you could join us," you said, your eyes lighting up as you acknowledged him.
He nodded, a brief and business-like acknowledgment. "There are matters that require my attention."
You tilted your head, your curiosity evident. "Everything okay?"
"Everything is as it should be," he replied, his gaze unwavering.
As the night wore on, Kaiba found himself watching you from across the room. The way you interacted with others, the genuine joy in your laughter—it stirred something within him. A part of him wished to join the festivities, to let loose and embrace the camaraderie. But another part, the one that had always been in control, resisted.
The party eventually began to wind down. Colleagues bid their farewells, and the grandiose atmosphere dwindled. You approached Kaiba, a hint of concern in your eyes.
"You've been distant tonight, Seto. Is something on your mind?" you asked, your voice laced with genuine care.
He hesitated, a rare occurrence for the usually decisive CEO. "Nothing that concerns you."
Your brows furrowed, but you respected his boundaries. "Alright, if you say so… But you know you can talk to me about anything."
He nodded, acknowledging your offer without committing to it. As the last echoes of the party faded, Kaiba found himself alone once again, the emptiness of the vast office mirroring the void within.
The following days were a series of strategic maneuvers, business meetings, and duels to maintain his title as the Duel Monsters champion. Yet, amid the chaos, your presence lingered in the recesses of his mind. Kaiba couldn't escape the awareness that his feelings were changing, evolving into something beyond the realms of friendship.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the city skyline, Kaiba found himself standing in the courtyard of KaibaCorp. The silence enveloped him, allowing him a moment of introspection. The weight of unspoken words hung in the air, and he couldn't ignore the pull any longer.
He decided to seek you out, his footsteps echoing through the quiet corridors of KaibaCorp. The journey to your shared sanctuary, the duel arena, felt like an odyssey of its own. The familiar hum of holographic projectors filled the air as he approached the arena.
There you were, engrossed in a duel simulation. The holographic monsters clashed, mirroring the internal conflict within Kaiba. As the simulation ended, you turned to face him, a welcoming smile on your face.
"What brings you here, Seto? Need a duel partner?" you teased.
Kaiba paused, the words hanging in the air. "No, (Y/N), I don't need a duel partner. I need to say something."
Your expression shifted from playful to attentive. "Alright, I'm listening."
He took a deep breath, his stoic façade momentarily wavering. "You are my closest friend, (Y/N), and you've been an integral part of my life. But recently, I find myself contemplating emotions that I am unfamiliar with."
Your eyes widened slightly, registering the sincerity in his words. Kaiba continued, "I've always believed emotions were a distraction. Yet, I can't deny that you have become more than just a friend to me. The idea of seeing you with someone else... it bothers me."
He paused, searching your eyes for a reaction. A mixture of surprise and understanding flickered in your gaze.
"I don't know how to navigate these emotions," he admitted, vulnerability threading through his words.
You took a step closer, your eyes softening. "Kaiba, it's okay. Emotions can be complicated, but they're not a weakness. If you feel something, it's worth exploring."
He looked at you, a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken connection that had grown between you two. In that moment, the duel arena transformed into an arena of the heart.
"I'm usually confident with my words, but not now, Kaiba confessed, a rare admission for someone known for his eloquence.
You smiled, a reassuring and understanding expression. "You don't have to be, Seto. I appreciate your honesty."
The air crackled with a tension that surpassed any duel they had faced together. It was a different kind of battle, one that unfolded in the uncharted territories of emotions. The duel arena, once a battleground for monsters, had become a setting for matters that Seto Kaiba was unfamiliar with…
Matters of the heart.

Hello!! Can I just say I love your blog and your writing sooo much. If you still write for Yugioh, can I please request relationship headcanons for Yami/ Atem if you have the time? He was my childhood crush (even still to this day tbh). Thanks! Have a nice day <3
Absofruitly anon! He was one of my childhood crushes too lol
Content: Yami Yugi/Atem x gn!Reader
Warnings: None
Notes: I went with modern Atem this time around. If you want ancient Egyptian Atem, lemme know!

Atem is kinda shy when you both first start dating
Cut the man some slack, he hasn't dated in about 3,000-5,000 years (depending on the dub or sub)
He doesn't particularly like PDA, and doesn't see a need to announce your relationship to his friends. He thinks they should "just know."
Obviously they don't, so Tea still hits on him and you get angry about it. Atem never notices when Tea hits on him and only knows about it when you point it out
He's quick to tell his friends about your relationship then. Joey teasingly asks him to prove it, and he wastes no time kissing you on the lips despite not liking PDA
It takes him a couple months to start getting comfortable with the relationship, and slowly gets more comfortable with PDA
He'll only go so far as hand holding and putting his arm around you, but it is progress
Behind closed doors though, I'd like to think he's a little clingy. If you need to go in another room for something he won't follow, he'll just wait for you. But he'll always want to cuddle or be touching you in some way
He prefers kisses on the cheek instead of the lips
He'd take you on such cute dates. He'd get the ideas either from Yugi, Bakura or social media (Joey and Tristian aren't exactly cute, and he wouldn't ask Tea about this)
He'd take you on picnic dates, take you to local events, he'll win you prizes at Kaiba Corp and go on any rides you want to go on and end the day with a kiss on the ferris wheel.
When you cuddle, he likes being the big spoon. He'll rub your back, scratch your back, whatever you want
He loves watching Tik Tok or Instagram reels or Youtube with you on your phone while you spoon. He'll periodically give you cheek kisses
I feel like Atem would be the first one to say "I love you" and he says it after every goodbye, every goodnight, every good morning, and every hello
If you two are away from each other, he always starts the conversation with a "how are you? how was your day?" text
His first priority is you. He loves you and he wants to make sure you're okay
He's also pretty chill with anything. If you're sick and look terrible, he's still going to want to be intimate. When you ask why, he'll kiss your cheek and give you a poetic sentence about loving you at your worst. Makes you tear up
Atem is also really good at listening to you and comforting you when something is wrong. He wishes he could duel all your problems away :(

Just as quickly as you had been asked, the next day came around and before you knew it, you were ready and stood outside the museum. Glancing down at the watch on your wrist, you saw you were earlier than you thought, maybe you were more keen than you had let on for this. Looking to the side, you watched as people walked in and out, excited chatter from them filling the air as you leaned against the wall. Your gaze then moves to the banners on either side of the door, taking in their design and the text. You didn't think this would be popular but like yourself, there were plenty of people who loved to learn about a place like Ancient Egypt. Turning your attention back to outside the museum, you caught the tri-coloured hair of the male you were meeting.
Walking down the steps, you walked forward and waved with a bright smile. Soft eyes looked at you before the male waved back, rushing quickly to your side. The action leaves them slightly out of breath, much to your amusement. "Thanks for doing this, (y/n), I know the spirit is excited as well". Letting out a giggle, you nodded and looked over your shoulder at the building. "It's no problem at all, Yugi, really. I've been eager to come here for a while, now I have the perfect reason". Looking back to Yugi, you tilted your head slightly. "Say Yugi, what should I call the spirit?".
Your question had taken both the young boy and the spirit of the puzzle by surprise. No one has ever asked what he should be called. Most people just referred to him as Yugi or the other Yugi, but you wanted to know what he wanted. Pondering, the young boy looked to the floating male at his side, waiting for his answer. After a few minutes of silence, your friend spoke out, giving you the answer, to which you smiled and nodded. "Yami, you can call him Yami".
When the coast was clear, the young boy stepped back before a bright light shone causing you to cover your eyes slightly. When the light dimmed and you glanced back up, you saw a slightly taller male standing there. His gaze was sharper, his eyes more stern and his hair a little bit different in style. Looking him over, you hummed and held your hand for him, offering a bright smile. "I take it you're Yami, it's nice to finally meet you. I'm (y/n) but I guess you already know that". Looking down at your hand, the spirit took a moment to take in what had happened before he looked back up at you. Now that he was using Yugi's body, he could get a good look at you. He could see why Yugi talked about you most of the time. Taking a hold of your hand, he gave it a firm shake and gave back a half smirk. "That's correct. It's nice to meet you too, (y/n)".
Looking down at your hands, something felt right about it. Sure, it was your friend's body being used but when Yami took over, things changed. The hand you held onto felt strong yet familiar at the same time. Deciding now would be a great time to let go, you laughed nervously before motioning behind you. "Let's get in there and see what we can find".
Once inside, surrounded by the exhibition on Ancient Egypt, you sighed in relief as you felt yourself relax. You didn't want to make a bad impression but you were almost certain you had done. Taking a moment to look around, you gauged where everything was, making a mental note of the best displays to look at before turning your gaze to Yami. "Okay, so I think I see some displays that might be a good starting point, but if you see anything let me know and we'll check it out". At hearing your words, Yami nodded and followed you to one of the displays, taking in how you spoke and the way your face lit up when you mentioned anything Egyptian. It was a sight that made him feel at ease. After a few minutes of you both being there, the spirit felt himself being pulled towards something at the back of the room. The footsteps beside you receded while you continued to gaze at the artefact in front of you.
A moment later, you looked to your side ready to ask the spirit's opinion on something, only to be met with a space. Turning around, you scanned the room but caught no sight of him. Sighing, you walked forward and began searching everywhere you could, finding anyone but the person you were looking for. After a good few minutes, you stopped before a door at the back of the room and bent over, letting out a frustrated noise and you wiped the palms of your hands on your legs. You were tasked with one thing, and one thing only yet you couldn't even do that. "Ahh, my Queen, it's nice to see you're finally here". The sound of the voice caught you off guard as you stood up and spun on your heel, coming face to face with the young woman who you'd seen in the papers a few days prior. The one in charge of running the exhibition, Ishizu Ishtar. "I'm sorry you must have me confused with someone else~".
The dark-haired woman shook her head with a smile before stepping forward, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I assure you I don't. I have something useful for you". Taking a step back, she motioned to her side before a male stepped forward, holding something in his hands for you. Looking from the item to the Ishizu, you held a hand out and let it hover over the item. Did you dare touch it, let alone take it? "Please, my Queen. We've been keeping this safe for five thousand years, it should be returned to you". Before you could protest any more, the item was placed in your hands. Looking it over, you felt a sense of familiarity from it. "Now, that door behind you, head on through and you'll find the person you've been looking for down the stairs".
Nodding your head, you turned around and walked through the door, descending the steps until you reached the bottom. For some reason, you trusted her words and her. Like she was someone you once knew. Coming to a stop at the bottom of the steps, you placed the item in your hands close to your chest before you walked forward, turning your head to either side to see if you could find him. "Yami! Are you down here!?". Up ahead, there was a noise which sounded like an answer to your question. Moving forward, you turned the corner and found the male you were searching for. "Here you are, I was wondering~". You stopped talking when you caught the tablet in front of you. You were almost positive you nearly broke your neck from the quickness of the double take you had done. Standing there in front of you was the person on the tablet, or you thought it was. "Yami?".
The spirit looked at your confused face before looking back at the tablet, you felt how he had when he first saw it. However, he'd had a good amount of time to get used to what he was seeing, taking in what the ancient tablet depicted. The more he looked at it, the more it felt like it was something from his past, that depicted his life before everything he knew was wiped from his memory. "It appears to be some form of ancient duel between the Pharoah and one of his advisors. I admit it's a bit of a shock to see someone who looks like me up there". Casting his gaze on you, he took note of the item you had ahold of. "I see you've found something as well. Anything important?".
Looking in slight confusion, it took you a moment to realise he was talking about the item you'd been given upstairs. Moving it from your chest, you placed a hand on top of it and nodded. "I hope so, it's a book of some kind but I'm not entirely sure what yet but fingers crossed it's something good". You turned your attention back to the tablet and noticed a section faded like it had been purposely damaged so it couldn't be read. "Say, you think this was important? Looks like something's been worn away on purpose". Raising your hand, you placed it on the glass in front of you as you took a step closer, there was nothing on this tablet aside from an image that screamed out to the both of you. That left the book in your possession, there had to be something in it and there was only one way to find out.

Trigger warning!!⚠️
Sorry for any errors
The night you became Yusei’s was something you hated. Painful. It always was. One night Yusei marked you. The next morning you both were tangled underneath the sheets. Waking up, you panicked. “I don’t think I knotted you. I wouldn’t do that to you, you’re unattractive. I only followed the scent and decided to have a little fun for the night.” He spoke. It hurt your feelings. Yusei use to always be such a good boyfriend and now he’s nothing but an asshole who takes advantage of you. You had no one to turn to not even your family. Everyone followed Alpha Yusei. No one dared to go against him. After 3 months of being with him after he marked you was hell. Constantly abusing you. “I thought I told you to fucking be ready by 8pm! We’re late!” he yelled and slapped you. “I’m sorry. I was busy with the other duties you assigned me Alpha.” you held your tears back to not mess up your make up. “You’re useless. Get undressed now. Forget about the family gatherling at your family’s.” he ordered. You did as he said. Undressed. Revealing yourself to him. This wasn’t the first time he forced himself onto you. Mounted you, making you cry with pain. He fucked you roughly. Marks of his hand prints on your body. Tonight he crossed the line way too much. “You’re such a dirty slut for me.” you cried hating his comments. “Crying but taking my cock very well. You still cum around me. Isnt that so contridicting.” he spoke. You came of course but it wasnt because you wanted. Its whatever the body wanted. You cried out as he slapped your face. “ Nasty bitch.” he pulled out and came on your stomach. Afterwards he locked you in the closet. “No yu-yusei please! Let me out. Let me out of here!”you yelled banging on the door. He knew you were terrified of small dark places. You closed your eyes and layed in a fetal position, trying to imagine you were nice and warm in your bed. “ Disobey me and you know the consequences.” was the last thing you heard. He left you locked in for 2 weeks. You were starving, dirty, smelly and cold. No one could hear your cries. “I’m tired of being careful in this fucking hell. Whats wrong with me? I wish I could disappear.” You said and the door opened. “You smell like garbage. Come out and wash yourself. We have an event next week. You need to pull yourself together.”he said. You left running to the bathroom. You turned on the water waiting for it to get warm when it did you quickly jumped in. it was a long shower. You had to make sure you were super clean, that the stench went away all together. The following day you remembered what you had said to yourself about wanting to disappear. Thats exactly what you did. You moved away and started a new life. You got a new job and home and after a month of being there you found out you were pregnant. “You’re 3 months into your pregnancy ma’am congratulations.” the gynocologist said. After that appointment you went home and sat there touching the mark on your neck. You were pregnant with Yusei’s pup. “Hey how did the appointme-” your friend said as she walked into your home. She saw the tears running down your cheeks. “I’m pregnant. 3months in…I need to make a call to Mr.Atlas for my pregnancy leave. I’ll leave around my 6th month.” you said grabbing your phone. You scheduled a meeting with him tomorrow at 2pm.
Jack was a simple man. He doesn’t like beating around the bush. He easily does get irritated due to people messing up with work after he explained many times on how things should be done. He is kind of silly if you think about it. He is very kind and adorable in his own little way. He really has interest in you. He would’ve made a move on you from day one however he saw your mark. It was fading away but still there. He had his doubts of course. You never once mentioned a family vacation leave, nor any other type of family related things.
“ Hello Mr.Atlas.” you greeted him. “Hello. What was it that you needed speak to me about?” he asked crossing his arms. You were hesitant to ask this early in the pregnancy to have a leave. “I need a pregnancy leave..I’m 3 months along. I’m asking for a pregnancy leave by the time I’m 6 months.” You spoke up hoping he’d be alright with that. “ You can take a leave now. Pregnancy is hard.” he said. That idea of making a move on you was now far long. You laughed nervously. “N-no..I’m good sir I can last long for sure.” “Your husband would want you to rest as much as you can so its alright.” he said smiling yet still losing his mind somehow. “Oh..I don’t have a husband its just the baby and I hence why I would like more time to work.” you said. For some reason you felt so ashamed but its not your fault. You were forced to leave.Yusei abused you. No one should be abused. Not from their mates nor family and friends. “O-oh I see..Ms.L/N. You can start your leave now. You will still be getting paid. Don’t worry.” He said. That was such a blessing. Getting paid during your pregnancy leave. You will be able to not stress about how to pay the bills. He was going to pay you. Out of his pocket not his company. “ Thank you sir for understanding.” you said standing up. He was going to abuse his power. He has all his workers files. Copies of their ID’S, Address and Social securities. “ I hope your pregnancy goes good.” he said rubbing your back. It felt soothing. You loved his touch. You hummed and nodded. A sigh left your mouth. “Tired already?” he smiled after you realized how you responded to his touch. “I am so sorry Mr.Atlas that was very rude of me. Inappropiate.” you apologized. “Everyone needs a rub on the back from time to time. No need to worry” he chuckled. You blushed and headed back to your station and began to pack your things. The following months were hard. You kept in contact with your boss. He texted you normally. He was basically your friend now. He took time off to come check up on you at your home. “Y/n you call me as soon as you need help.” he ordered as he put on your shoes on you. “I-Im sorry..Your company needs you. It’s important.” you replied and started crying. Your emotions were all over the place. “Oh no no no I’m not getting mad at you. I want you to know that I always have time for you. I will always help you.” he said wiping your tears. During your pregnancy , he slowly started moving in. He’d stay over for day that he had his own section of the closet and drawers. There were two toothbrushes instead of one. Different set of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. He bought the baby girl clothes and her necessities. He was acting like a true husband and father. Every night he scented you. You felt safe and sound with him. You scented him through the day. Today he forgot the lunch you had made him. You decided to take it to him. You dolled up comfortably. Arriving to the building everyone stared at you and the lunch bag you had in your hands. Everyone knew no one in the building was your mate. Maybe his scent washed away after your prolonged shower.Since the receptionist didnt allow you to head to his office you had no other way but to call him and let him know you were downstairs. A few minutes he showed up. “Hey princess.” he said giving you a nice hug then rubbing your now 8th month bump. Your coworkers were shocked. You were with Jack Atlas. “You forgot your lunch silly. Next time you’ll have to get more sleep so you’re not in such a hurry in the morning.” you said as he took the lunch bag. “Thank you baby. Lets head back to my office. You look very beautiful in blue.” he commented and up you go. As you both entered the office you saw the one person you didnt expect to see. Yusei Fudo. The man you hated most in the world. “W-what the hell are you doing here? G-go away. You monster.” you said crying. You began to feel scared and you started to panic. Jack had no idea why you suddenly felt this way but he released his phermones around you and he held you.
“Shh shh princess it’s okay. I’m here no one will ever hurt you. Deep breaths.” you did as he said. Slowly calming down. “How do you know him sweetheart ?” Jack asked playing with you hair. “He was my ex mate. He was the one I ran away from. He’s a monster. He abused me in many ways. I hate him.” you replied rubbing your bump. Yusei knew it was his baby. He tried coming near but Jack stopped him. “y/n is now my woman and that baby is our daughter. Forget about the deal we were about to make. Get out of here.” he said with a growl. Yusei obeyed him. He didn’t care about his daughter and ex mate. “Will you allow me to mark you as mine?” Jack asked as he moved your hair to the side revealing your neck. “Once our little one is born of course.” he smiled. You couldn’t believe how much your life has changed in such a short amount of time.
The day finally came when you gave birth. You were struggling with a name. “Mhm this is harder than I thought.” he said. “Emilia Rosé Atlas.” you said with a smile. “Thats beautiful.” he said. After a few moments the nurse came back with a birth certificate. “All thats left is for us to marry.” he said kissing you. “ mhm yes” you replied kissing back. Your daughters birth was painful but it was such a wonderful day.
As the years passed you married him and moved into his home. You experienced all the wealth he has that is now yours as well. Your daughter grew up with such good parents. Emilia went to an amazing school. She excelled in many things. She was happy to have parents who always have time for her. She is very spoiled by her dad. You both taught her to be humble and giving. All good morals. Shes a very kind person. When Emilia was 6 you had twins, Jack and Ashton Atlas.. It was shocking but you and Jack were so happy. Emilia was jealous at first but grew to love them so much. She even made an oath to always protect them. Eventually the Atlas family was a family of 10.

To the Next Adventure

Atem/YamiYugii X F!Reader
Darkness was everywhere you looked. It surrounded you, preventing any other movement besides the pivot of your head. It was neither cold nor warm, dry nor wet, it was simply nothing. What was this place? What happened that made you come here? Pain shot through your temples as if to answer the questions you’d asked, near blinding white hot, threatening to render you motionless altogether. Had you sustained a head injury of sorts?
“Release her at once!”
Another bolt of pain seared across your being. The voice was familiar, ripples of fine dark hued velvet dancing with white silk appearing from nowhere, as it caressed your ears. Who was its owner?, you couldn’t help but wonder as glittering gold sand gathered in a pile around your feet courtesy of a warm breeze. Darkness lingered though small stars slowly began to appear with each echo of the command until a desert spanned for as far as you could see blanketed by Nyx’s cloak of twilight. A full moon stained red threatened to bathe all things in its crimson glow if not for the single figure who stood atop of a mighty twin mouthed dragon.
“I will not repeat myself…Consider this your only and final warning!”
This time pain radiated from around your neck as what was identifiable as large fingers threatened to cutoff your airway. “Ah, but you see, she is rightfully mine by right! Need I remind you of this era’s rules, your highness, for he who lays claim to a female then the property she becomes! Matters not how nor if it was by choice! I have her in my hold currently which makes her the perfect person for the job I have in mind!”
The dragon released an earth shattering roar that would make any who heard deaf, its four eyes aglow with bloodlust as its summoner’s lip curled in a snarl. Seeing either one alone would ensure nightmares to come with its glistening fangs and claws but it was the man wearing the Eye of Horus upon his head that struck you with awe. Wild ebony hair with vermillion tips that faded to violet towards his neck’s nape, a mantle of rich purple billowing behind him that accentuated the amethyst shards within his sharp gaze as it remained locked upon the one you surmised as your captor, skin beautifully kissed by the sun’s rays that shone with subtle hints of sweat as he raised his hand outwards. “All in the land know that she you dare touch is to be by my side as queen so do not play me for a fool! Will or not, I demand you return her at once!”
Queen? You? Confusion filled your chest at his words.
Anger shone brilliantly as his gaze tinted towards pomegranate. As if your uncertainty had wounded him, there was the briefest shadow of sorrow hidden within his gaze as you met it. “You heathen, what have you done her?”
“Well, dear pharaoh, it was clear that you were not going to pull your punches even if I used those little modern century friends of yours. My patience wanes thin already and Zorc the Dark One will be resurrected soon enough once I offer up her life force!” Another hand rose to take hold of your chin, raising it roughly so that the length of your throat was exposed. “Try not to take this personally, my dear, you were simply a means to an end! Fear not though, your memories shall be returned to you once his highness speaks his name!”
Both summoner and beast bellowed towards the night sky as the moon behind them darkened. Those were your only warnings as the world you barely knew was plunged into darkness once again courtesy of a dagger which first swiped across your throat then buried itself deep within your chest until its metallic hilt met your flesh.
Breaths hissed from between your clenched teeth as you sat upright in bed, hands leaping to your throat and chest while staring wide eyed up through the skylight window to the full blood moon eclipse. Horror filled you like a spreading poison when hearing a voice call out a name which unlocked a hidden gate that was buried within your mind. Faces and places swam past you like a movie reel until they came to a screeching halt upon an altar where the shadow sourcing from a single being became two. The cellphone that was on your bedside table began to ring but you were too numb to move let alone speak. Somehow you knew where to go, where you should be, and who was calling out to you.
Sunlight threatened to blind you while stepping off the boat, feet running the second they met the blistering sand despite the shouts of local deterring you from venturing below. You’d used every string and connection you knew to get here so quickly but it would all be worth it. At the end of a seemingly never ending stone staircase, after stepping around the slumped figure of a white headed man, you found the golden upside down pyramid laying behind a tricolored teen who lay unconscious with several others. The stone tablet before you seemed to hum with power as you approached, a single golden beam appearing from the carving’s apex to brush your brow, before it fell silent; all of your memories had been restored already, meaning its task had nothing to do with you. Your hands carefully picked up the ancient artifact, caressing it gingerly and carefully as if it would shatter, raising it to press one of its sides against your cheek. A single teardrop fell from your eye to splatter across the priceless gold.
“By the ancient gods,” the voice from your dream sounded as if he were standing in front of you instead, “how have you come here?”
“Nothing upon the earth nor in the heavens could keep mine love from you, my pharaoh.” You whispered back while returning it to the young teen who stirred. Though you couldn’t physically see him, there was no mistaking the gaze which seemed to watch with suspense as you walked back towards the staircase. The urge to take the Millennium Puzzle came over you in a tidal wave yet you retrained yourself. It was not for you to possess and his task within this time was not yet complete. “Come seek me out once you have gathered your senses about you.”
And without another backwards glance, you vanished back up the staircase.
The gentle rocking of the boat would lull anyone into slumber but you instead found solace upon starboard’s bow with the wind teasing the sensitive skin of your face. Scents of water lily and driftwood filled the night’s cool air which quenched most of the day’s relentless heat. A soft smile made to raise your lips if not for the presence which manifested behind you.
They didn’t speak, nor did you, as the shadow that stretched across the wood underfoot became taller. It was dominating, radiating with power unseen in this century’s time, yet it seemed to not show its fangs as it came closer.
One step…
two steps…
four steps…
And it came to a stop just short of reaching where you stood. Yet they still did not speak nor did they attempt to touch you.
This time a smile did grace your lips as the lids of your eyes slowly closed. Masculine sandalwood now tickled your nose in place of playful yet faint scents of modern deodorant which was a bit too potent for your personal liking. “Upon the Nile’s shore, where water kisses land, so ever flows my love for you.”
“May by Ra’s grace, our bond be forged in gold.” He spoke softly, gently, as if afraid you were a vision that would disappear if he was too loud. “For not riches nor jewels shine brighter than my beloved. For so long as she remains by mine side, I shall not want for naught.”
“For what is fortune to one such as I when mine eyes behold the greatest treasure one could find?” You faced him fully with a tilt of your being, the banister meeting the small of your back as he crossed the remaining space to wrap both arms around you as if to prevent anyone from stealing you away. Guilt wracked your body as you in turn clung to him.
Along your trip you’d familiarized yourself with the path of his vessel, Yugi Mutuo from Japan, and had felt stricken with self loathe when discovering all that had occurred while your memory was lacking; Pegasus’ Shadow Game, the battle against Marik’s evil, Atlantis, and that you had been unable to assist in any of them left you feeling bitter. Even back in ancient times, the pharaoh had immense strength blessed to him by the gods, but the showcase again and again of it was almost too much for you to take when realizing that strangers had been by his side instead of you.
“My pharaoh, my beloved, my King of Games, forgive this fool of a woman for not finding her way to your side sooner.”
“I am relieved that you did not have to suffer twice. The battle’s path may have turned in an unfavorable direction if you had participated, (Y/n), thus I am relieved to find you unharmed and well.” The pads of his thumbs were quick to wipe away the tears as they spilled down your cheeks, his gaze piercing you with its gemstone hues. “Bakura’s curse was vanquished the moment he was defeated, (Y/n), so do not blame yourself upon something that was not within your control.” He appeared just as you had dreamt and more as he encouraged your eyes to open with the softest of brushes that were his fingers against your eyelids. Pale moonlight accentuated each plane of his face, revealing masculine edges yet smoothed over by the lingering plush that was from living within the modern century, though it did little to conceal the physique which was testimony of endless trainings both in combat and magical. A black racer back tee failed to conceal the lean build he sported, shoulders and upper chest showcased thanks to the fabric’s tightness, and recognizable bottoms ended where pointed boots began. Leather studded bands around his biceps and wrist did little to deter his movements, matching the choker around his throat. The expression upon his features though was foreign as he retreated a step. “Forgive my appearance, for it is not entirely my own.”
“My pharaoh, frankly I would not care if your vessel was a giant purple dinosaur.” Your hand waved dismissively when his head tilted slightly, unable to stop a giggle from sounding. Pride filled you while cupping his face between both your palms, exhaustion appearing within his gaze as you brought him closer so that your foreheads were touching. “It matters not, beloved, all that matters is that you have succeeded in saving the world from Zorc the Dark One. Now you may finally know peace as the kings before you have.”
Regret wafted off of him in waves as he removed your hands, gaze becoming hooded. “I am in need of rest, yes, yet my duty upon this matter is not yet finished.”
You listened carefully and intently as he told of one final duel he needed to partake within. This time it would be against his vessel. Understanding filled you when noting how he glanced over his shoulder towards the cabin where the boy’s companions sounded from, your fingers lightly brushing against his own when he hesitated to answer the call of a name which wasn’t his. “Go to them. It will not be long before they must accept your destiny leads somewhere they cannot follow.” Though his fingers and hand was larger than your own, it did not deter you from raising it so as to brush your lips across his knuckles before placing his palm against your chest where he could feel your heartbeat. “You have my word that I will not wander, pharaoh, have faith in my words as a promise to remain seen yet unseen while going forth from here.”
Sharp gemstone eyes closed briefly as he nodded, slowly allowing the call to cause his vessel to take retreating steps, until he disappeared from sight towards the other end of the boat.
Watching him go threatened to fill you with loneliness and neglect but it was not you who needed comforting tonight. No. He deserved to be with the friends he’d made despite you wanting not to waste another second not within his presence. You’d managed this second life’s time so far without him.
What was one more night?
Little were you aware of how many times he came to a stop outside your door as the moon traveled its way across the night sky. It was close to the four o’clock hour that the softest of sounds woke you. No explanation was needed as you crossed the borrowed room’s space to unlock the door, your hand gently collecting his own and drawing him inside before closing it once more. The shadows seemed to gather around him as he silently followed you to the bed, not stopping nor saying anything as you laid him down first. Words weren’t necessary as the heaviness within his gaze met yours. One of your hands rose to begin slowly combing through his tricolored tresses while the rest of you settled in a comfortable position beside him, silently encouraging him to relax by coaxing his head to rest against your upper chest. The invitation was accepted and he soon had nestled his face into your being with arms wrapped around your waist.
And that was all it took for the mighty Nameless Pharaoh of Egypt to finally break. His hold became tight as near scalding droplets of liquid splattered across your skin as he choked on his own words. He told of everything from how his initial emergence from the puzzle frightened the poor boy who’d completed it, how he had selfishly grown attached to the boy’s friends and became envious of the simplistic lifestyle, of how each adversary he met would nearly result in the harm of those he’d come to care for, the frustration he felt when someone was made victim because of his choices or actions, when he’d felt helpless against silver tongued opponents who nearly made him lose sight of his path. Your hold didn’t wane or falter as he spoke, uncaring of how long it took until his words ran out, internally relishing every one that passed through his lips. It had been so long since either of you had spoken freely, let alone held one another in such a way, and though he’d tried his best to keep a clam and neutral exterior, you of all people knew just how self destructive such a face could become.
He’d had no one in this time to comfort or encourage him in the way he needed. No one had been capable to ensuring his confidence within himself was put back together when he felt lacking. There had been new friendships to help him cope with his missing memories but with them came a lacking of understanding from both parties. Several times it seemed as though he was at a loss for what he’d needed in some scenarios, despite his and their best efforts to find solutions, but that’s outside of the here and now.
Silence hung in the air once he’d finished, though it was as weightless as a feather, yet it settled over the two of you in an invisible blanket which stemmed off the chill of night. Your eyes drifted closed as his breaths slowed to an even rhythm against your skin. The tension which had been radiating off his form since your skin touched was replaced by calm acceptance. His mind must have been racing with the coming dawn that it had robbed him, and his vessel, of slumber. Even if this was all you could do for him you’d gladly accept this role.
Dawn filtered through nearby window as he finally stirred, bathing him in its colorful glow as he rose to sit upright. You would wake soon, that much he could tell from how you shifted due to his warmth now missing from your embrace. Ever so gently he brushed his lips against your temple then across each of your knuckles. The beauty he saw as you teetered on the line between dreamland and consciousness threatened to take his breath away but it could not be ignored that he had one more mission to accomplish upon this plane of existence. His turned back, however, made him miss the tear which slid down your cheek as with a crack of your eye allowed your to witness him depart.
Dressing took minimal effort, your belongings next to none since you no longer would need them come tonight, and you carefully followed the small group who were his comrades below the earth to where the Millennium items were to slumber. It seemed that none noticed you slipping within the designated space that was to be his final stage and watched with awe as not one figure but two appeared from the shadow which had been one.
With breathless abandon, you watched the duel’s twists and turns earn mixed reactions from those who watched; the tomb keepers would be freed from their ancient family duty to watch over the Nameless Pharaoh’s tomb until his return and those who were teens within high school couldn’t decide who to cheer for yet they all soon began cheering for the one named Yugi. Magic cards were activated, trap cards triggered, summons of monsters completed or prevented…
Until his life points were nonexistent.
Your breath came out in a soft exhale as defeat permeated the air. It seemed as though the other spectators were struck by the turn of events, judging from how they stared wide eyed up at the pair who crossed the space to stand mere inches apart instead of feet. Even from here you felt the waves of relief coming off the pharaoh as he offered his hand towards the boy who looked ready to weep. Whispers almost too soft for you to hear filled the air, encouraging you to come forward from your hiding place, and steeled yourself as you stepped out from the column’s shadow you’d been within. A collective exclamation rose as you remained locked upon your target, the platform which had been stage for his final duel, uncaring as a few demanded you explain how you’d come to be here. Coming to a stop beside him, you offered him a smile after bowing lowly. “Beloved, you fought valiantly.”
An uproar sounded from those who watched, despite the attempts of the tomb keepers, but silence fell as his hand rose to tuck a few fallen strands of hair behind your ear. The boy beside him was watching with wide eyed surprise as your introduction was followed by explanation of Bakura’s curse upon your memories which had wiped them clean until recently.
Your hand offered its palm to him as another smile raised your lips when he took it. “Thank you for taking care of him as he traversed upon such a path.” Hesitation filled his gaze when you drew him forward, your other hand cupping the side of his face so that his gaze wouldn’t wander from yours. “Your friendship shall not be forgotten, Yugi. Allow me to take my place at his side now as he prepares to cross the final threshold.”
He didn’t object or intervene despite his friends who spoke against your actions while releasing him, the woman tomb keeper explaining the final steps which the pharaoh needed to take in order to transcend. “I can tell you mean a lot to him, (Y/n), though I probably should say that I had my suspicions someone out in the world was looking for him ever since we returned. I’m glad you found him.”
Those who had gathered as the great stone slabs parted to reveal golden light which bathed the pharaoh in its light. His modern clothes were replaced by the ancient wardrobe you’d been more familiar with down to the royal purple mantle which billowed in the soft breeze coming from beyond the gate. Ever so faintly you could see those who had passed on during the battle centuries ago waving and awaiting the two of you with welcoming smiles. Tanned fingers gently laced themselves with yours, which you gave a gentle squeeze, your gaze rose to meet his own to find them practically glittering. Somehow your own clothes had undergone a change as well to resemble those which you’d once donned. A bend of his being brought his lips to your cheek, earning a soft hum from within your chest and a blush as he whispered how beautiful you looked, before turning his attention to those who watched with tearful gazes.
Farewells were said, smiles exchanged, your fingers giving his a squeeze as the minimal window which would allow him to finally crossover began to shorten. “Atem, my beloved, it is time. If we do not go now then we may remain within limbo.” You shared a glance with him back over your shoulders, then together the two of you stepped through the gateway.
“As I embark on this next adventure, I am thankful to the gods that we have reunited.” He brought your joined fingers up to his mouth as the golden light grew, nearly blindingly so, his lips descending upon your own when you sighed blissfully. “Let us go…together.”

The first thing I heard was the sound of waves pushing in and out and with each push I felt a wetness at my feet.  Slowly I opened my eyes to reveal that I was lying along a shoreline with the sunset just ahead of me.  I raised myself up and saw that I was also alone on the shore without my brother nor Yugi at my side.  A moment of panic came over me until I felt this warmth envelope me, putting me at ease.
Up in the sky I saw the glowing borealis that divided our world with the Dimension of Monsters.  But there was also this comforting purple light that started to shine over the light of the sunset.  As the purple light grew bigger and bigger, a form began to take shape and I let out a gasp as my eyes widened in shock.
The figure took its full shape as the legendary Dark Magician, but to me he was someone else.  Someone besides my brother, whom I had loved so dearly that I willingly gave up my throne to be with.
“Mahad.” I breathlessly whispered his name as hidden tears came at the corners of my eyes.
“Yes my queen.” He answered as he extended his hand out to me.  I took his hand and he helped me stand up and the two of us stared deeply into the other’s eyes.
“I—” I shakily started. “For 5000 years I’ve thought of what to say when I’d……how’d you know?”
“Let’s just say we both know a certain female Magician who kept her meddling eye on our affair.” I choked out a laugh as I grasped my amulet that Mahad had given me to show his devotion and loyalty to me when we began secretly courting.
“Mahad. I have so much to tell and yet I feel like there is not enough time.”
“You’re right. The gateway between our two worlds is fading. Soon it will seal itself up and never again will our worlds collide again.” I nodded solemnly.
“Mahad there’s something that I—when you died I…..”
“You do not need to share it. I know.”
“What? You-you knew?”
“Not at the time when I was human but eventually I did learn.” He placed his hand over my stomach and he continued, “But you needn’t feel guilty about what happened. For our son became the most powerful magician in a new life.”
“Our—son?” I spoke in awe.  Since I hadn’t known about the pregnancy at the time when I had the miscarriage after losing Mahad, it was never known what the gender of our future child could’ve been.  But now hearing this, it filled my heart with so much emotion that I couldn’t even begin to describe what I was feeling.
“Yes. He is as strong as the two of us and just as courageous as his mother.” He said as he brushed my golden bangs gingerly.
“And I’ll bet as handsome as his father.” I couldn’t help but praise.  “Will I…?”
“One day. He will be there for you when the time is most dire.” I reached up and placed my palm against his cheek.  He leaned against my touch and grasped my hand with his so that I could feel his gentle lips place a tender kiss to my palm.
“To finally have the chance to speak with you only to lose you again.”
“You never lost me to begin with. Remember I took a vow to protect and serve both you and your brother. But there is also our vows to each other.” He lifted my chin with his index finger.  “Let our love travel across time and space….”
“And forever bind us as one.” I finished.
*Flashback*
The love story between Mahad and I began like most.  We grew up as friends and studied under the same Master to become the most powerful magicians in all of Egypt.  Having been given magic by the Egyptian Gods themselves to spare me from death when I was born, I needed to learn out to control such power.
There Mahad and I formed a friendship with each other.  Soon my father Pharaoh Aknamkanon appointed Mahad not only as my dueling partner, but eventually mine and my little brother’s personal guardian.  When my father died shortly after I had turned 13, it was then I was crowned Pharaoh of Egypt and Mahad truly became the support I needed, but it was also when my feelings for him began to develop.
It was still in the early twilight just before dawn and I couldn’t find myself to sleep anymore.  So I found myself heading into the throne room and sat down on the throne and tried to envision what would soon come to pass come a few hours once I’m Pharaoh.
“My queen?” I heard Mahad’s voice spoke up.  I looked up to see him coming up towards the throne.  He gave a respected kneel and I said to him.
“Please Mahad you don’t need to do that.”
“But you are to become the next Pharaoh. It would be improper for me to not acknowledge you as such.” I sighed heavily as I rubbed my hand over my face.
“This is what I was afraid of.” I stood up from the throne and walked over to the balcony and leaned my arms against the railing and watched as the first light of dawn was starting to come into the sky.  The stars dimmed their glows and the moon began to fade.
“Nefertiri?” Mahad soon spoke my name.
“I don’t feel ready for this.” I spoke truthfully.  “When my father surrendered himself to the Egyptian gods that day and it was decreed I’d become the next Pharaoh the day after burying him. How can I live up to what he accomplished? I’m—just not ready yet. I could bring this whole kingdom to its knees within a fortnight or our people suffer because I made the wrong call.”
“If you are as good of a Pharaoh as you are at being one of Egypt’s strongest magicians, then ruling this kingdom will come as an easy task for you.” He came and stood beside me, his arms resting along the railings just like mine were and he said. “For as long as I’ve known you, you’ve had the heart and soul of a Lioness. Strong willed, fierce, determined. But you are also kind, loyal, and caring to those around you. You always put others before yourself and do whatever it takes to make those around you safe and protected. And to better bring about the peace that your father had sought out to achieve, there is no other Pharaoh I could see taking his place than you, Queen Nefertiri.”
I was in awe as my cheeks began to flush and my heart pounded.  I looked at Mahad as he spoke such praise to me my heart started to flutter as I asked him.
“You really mean that?” he turned to look down at me and said with a soft look in his eyes.
“Every word and more.” And it was from that moment on that Mahad and I had this unspoken bond with each other.
I would continue to rule over Egypt as Pharaoh for the next 8 years until Atem turned 18 years old when I decided to step down from the throne and bequeath it to him.
It was late cool night in Egypt and I was standing in Mahad’s table shrine after thankfully dismissing the guards from their duties for the night since Mahad and I had some important things to discuss privately.  I stared up at his Illusion Magician stone tablet when I heard his voice say.
“You asked for me, my Queen.” I turned to face him and said.
“Yes I did.” I walked over to him and extended my hand out. “Rise.” He came up from his kneeling position.  “Before long you won’t need to address me as Pharaoh anymore.”
“Until tomorrow comes, you are still my Pharaoh and Queen.”
“And what about in here just the two of us?” I came closer to him and reached up to touch his cheek.
“Are you sure we are alone?”
“I sent the guards away myself. And who would dare to question their Pharaoh when she has private business to discuss with her one of her personal Guardians?” Mahad then used his millennium ring to detect any nearby soul to ensure that we were alone.  Once it was confirmed that we were truly alone, we leaned forward into a passionate kiss.
I had both my hands cupping each side of his face while his hands gingerly held my waist and bicep.  When the need for air became desperate, we separated and Mahad asked me.
“Are you sure you are ready to surrender the throne to your brother?”
“He is more than ready to become a greater Pharaoh than even I could’ve been. Plus you know the laws of our land. Since I never found a suitor nor had an heir to the throne, I must surrender it to my next of kin.”
“There were plenty of suitors from all over the world. Many royal heirs were willing to move the entire Nile for you Nefertiri.”
“But none of them were you Mahad. I never cared for gold nor riches, nor how men would move lands for me. All they saw was a female to be their breeding cow. Or a way to obtain the power that I had been gifted by our Gods to conqueror their enemies. You are the only one who has seen me for me Mahad. And my heart has always been yours even when we were children, though I did not know it at the time.”
“But I am not of not royal blood. Are you sure it is I that you wish to have as a suitor?”
“I am Mahad. And once my brother is crowned Pharaoh and he appoints me as his High Sorceress there shall be no law that says we cannot be together. We will have his blessing and not the courts.” Mahad stroked my hair out of my face.
“For years I had felt a stronger sense of protection for you over your brother. Now I realize that that sense was truly love. But I knew it was forbidden for us to be together, until that night in the gardens after your victory over the God Anubis.” I smiled remembering that night all too well.
Mahad and I were by the water lily pond.  The stars that seemed to dance in the sky over the Dark god’s defeat and the full moon shining down over the land of Egypt.  It was then I had leaned and kissed Mahad right on the lips and we shared our hidden confession.
All those years previously when he tried to turn aside my feelings and deny his own by only being my Guardian.  But after saving his life from Anubis’ attack that was meant for me, Mahad began to accept his feelings and our friendship once again began to flourish before finally becoming the secret love affair that we both had.
Of course even this secret had to come out eventually.  Mana had found out about us when she had snuck out of the palace to join Mahad and I on a trip to the spellcaster’s training grounds just a year ago.  After enforcing that there would be severe consequences if she ever revealed this secret before my brother’s coronation, Mana agreed to keep quiet and not reveal our forbidden love to anyone.
And nothing gets pass the keeper of the Millennium necklace Isis.  She had actually confronted Mahad of this issue but didn’t offer any resistance or objection to our affair.  She only warned us to be careful and try to act more discreet until the time my brother would take the throne.
As for my brother well…let’s just say I sometimes underestimate him.  He knew that to obtain the throne he needed to successfully defeat me in a duel for the Millennium puzzle as stated by our new laws in regards to the Millennium items.  He had seen me duel in the past and knew that I was pulling my punches and had lost willingly.  That night after our duel he had confronted me about it.
He had seen how Mahad and I would look at each other in passing and had his suspicions but like Mana he had vowed to keep our secret.  He even joked of how once he was Pharaoh, he’d have to be the one to perform the marriage once that came around and the moment he had said that, I had blushed bright red.
“I love you Mahad.” I spoke lovingly.
“And I love you, Nefertiri.” It always warmed my heart when he called me by my name and not by my title.  I leaned forward and captured his lips in another kiss.  Longing for tomorrow to come faster and for us to finally be able to love each other freely and one day be together for the rest of our lives.
*End flashback*
“Nefertiri!” we both turned and soon saw Yugi racing toward us along with my brother’s spirit.  I raced up towards them and embraced them both.
“Are you both alright?”
‘We’re both fine. What about you? When Yugi and I found ourselves on this beach without you at our side, we thought we had lost you.’ Yami said.
“First of all it’s my job as the older sibling to be worried about you.” I couldn’t help but tease my little brother.  “And second I’m alright. Thanks to him.” I gestured towards the Dark Magician and when both my brother and Yugi saw him they both lightly gasped.
My brother took a step forward as he looked up at Mahad with regret.  I could still see the hint of betrayal and anger in Mahad’s eyes as he looked down at my brother.
‘I know I cannot change the past of what I had done. When I played that card, I had unlocked the darkness within me. I had betrayed all of you and even though there is nothing I can say that can excuse me for what I had done, I hope at least one day I can earn your forgiveness.’
Mahad continued to briefly glare down at my brother before turning his eyes to me.  I held my amulet once again and gave him a soft nod.  My brother has truly suffered throughout these past few weeks with the Orichalcos stones and while what he did wasn’t right, he’s at least taking responsibility for his actions and trying to atone for his mistake.  Mahad turned back towards my brother and like before he knelt down before his King and accepted his apology.
“I guess that means he’s forgiven you.” Said Yugi.
“He has.” A female voice soon spoke up and soon appearing out of a bright light was Dark Magician Girl and the Three Knights of Atlantis, Hermos, Critias and Timaeus.  “We five are eternally in your debt. Thanks to you three, the Great beast has forever been defeated and the spell that once held our protectors prisoner has now been lifted.” She said to us.
“Thank you all. You fought bravely.” Timaeus commended us.
“Your courage and strength will never be forgotten,” Critias said before Hermos finished.
“For as long as we reign.”
“And we thank you for all of your help. Without the three of you, the power that we faced would’ve surely consumed our world. And I would personally like to thank the three of you for looking after M……” I trailed off before revealing Mahad and Mana’s true names.  “For looking after Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. They mean everything to me.” I turned to the two of them and they looked at me with a soft look in their eyes.
“And we extend a personal thanks to you Queen Nefertiri.” Timaeus said to me.
“The Spellcasters of our world wouldn’t be who they are without the teachings of your scribe and of the Dark Magician’s.” Critias said.
“I’m a bit worse for wear, I’m afraid.” I said shamefully as I could feel my exhaustion finally catch up with me.  I felt Yugi take hold of me as he tried to keep me from falling forward.
When Dartz had taken my power to help aid the Leviathan’s return, it also had drained most of my life force.  But when I felt the magic from my brother when he had found me in Dartz’s hideout, it restored some of my life energy but it’s still not enough.
“Then we hope this will help you shine like new once again.” Hermos then said as he turned towards both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.  The two of them looked at each other and nodded as they stood side by side and crossed their wands together.
“Just as the Great Beast fell from the sky, Dark Magician and I were able to extract the power it had taken from you. And now it’s time for the High Sorceress to regain her power.” Dark Magician Girl said with a soft smile.  I turned to Yugi and nodded for him to allow me to stand.  He hesitantly backed away as their wands glowed with my sapphire blue magic.
Together both Mahad and Mana returned my power to me as the sapphire blue light shot from their wands directly into my chest and I began to absorb the power back into my body.  I could feel the steady flow of my power returning inside me and restoring my strength then once I felt all of my power return I staggered for a moment before regaining my footing.
I closed my eyes as everyone stared at me in silence and I could feel the power once again returning to my fingertips.  When I opened my eyes I knew that they were now glowed the pure sapphire light whenever I’d unleash my full power and I lifted myself up with my magic as the sapphire waves of magic formed in the palm of my hands.
With a wave of my hands I shot out a powerful energy blast that shot outward like a firework.  I looked down at the ocean and with my left hand and slowly clawing some of my fingers inward, I was able to raise part of the ocean up into a large wave before letting it descend back down with a powerful splash.  Then with my right hand I pressed my tall and index fingers together before dipping my hand down as the sky began to cloud up and thunder began to rumble.
I did the same dipping motion with my left hand.  I repeated the dipping motion again for both hands before extending my right hand out and blue lightning shot up toward the sky creating a lightning storm so powerful, it would make Slifer himself proud.  After the brief light show, I then made a spreading motion with my hands to clear out the dark clouds before finally landing back onto the beach and my powers went dormant.
My eyes returned to their normal color and I turned to see everyone looking at me with awe or pride.  Mana came up to me and I said to her with a proud smile of my own.
“Thank you.” She smiled and immediately embraced me and I hugged her back with just as much strength and love as she was giving me.
‘It is time Mana.’ Mahad’s voice spoke to us telepathically.  We separated from each other before looking at each other sadly.  I sucked in my tears and gave her a firm nod telling her it was okay.  The three knights and Mana soon took off into the sky to head back into the Dimension of Monsters.
Mahad extended his hand out to me and I placed my hand into his as we stared at each other.
‘I wish we had more time my love.’ I said to him telepathically.
‘One day we shall be reunited again. Until the day comes, I will always be there for you, right there on the dueling arena.’ He said to me as he began to fly off to join Mana to return to the realm of Monsters.  Our hands remained holding each other’s until the distance became too much and we were forced to let go and he took off flying towards the borealis portal before it would close up forever.
My heart sunk into my stomach as my throat began to tighten.  Tears slowly formed at the corner of my eyes as I heard my brother say my name.  A single tear fell down my face as my hands glowed their sapphire blue color then I shot up towards the sky and flew after them.  I flew higher and higher into the sky until I came just to their side before stopping to see them off.
*3rd Person POV*
As Mahad and Mana flew towards the portal of their home following the Knights of Atlantis, Mana soon took notice of Nefertiri flying in the sky and she cleared her throat softly to get her master’s attention before casually directing his attention to their Queen.
When Mahad took notice of his beloved Queen seeing him off, he felt his heart both warm and ache at the same time.  At least this time they were able to bid each other a proper goodbye this time.  As a tear fell down his face, he thought about the rest of their vows to one another.
‘I’ll always live on forever in you, long as the skies and the Nile is Blue.’ Soon they entered through the portal and as Nefertiri saw Mahad and Mana disappear from her world she spoke her part of the vows.
“I’ll always love you and I’ll never stop.” It was then a glow came from her duel disk.  She saw how one card in particular seemed to glow the brightest, so she removed the top card that was glowing and saw how it now showed the Dark Magician card.  The same art style that Yugi had for his deck.  “And you’ll always be there, even when you’re not.”
Tears slipped down her face as she placed the Dark Magician card over her heart and watched with a bittersweet smile as the lights faded and her beloved was gone forever from this world once again.
