For day 13 of TF Rare Pairing Fest, otherwise known as day 2 of spiderscribe's sad cyberverse fics, I wrote Shockwave/Wheeljack for the prompt "Goodbye May Seem Forever."

When a bot deactivates, their spark leaves their frame to become one with the AllSpark. This is common knowledge to most Cybertronians. 

What is not common knowledge, and what Wheeljack doesn’t know, is what happens to a bot who deactivates by deliberately altering their spark to corrupt the AllSpark, only for that corruption to be reversed when someone else purifies the AllSpark with their own positive spark. Would the evil bot’s spark still be allowed to pass on into the AllSpark? Would they get rejected and be forced to wander Cybertron as a ghost? Or would they just disappear into nothingness? 

Considering it’s an extremely specific case that Wheeljack is pretty sure has never happened before, he doubts there’s anyone functioning who can answer those questions with one hundred percent certainty.

“Ha!” he says out loud. “That means it’s possible you’re still here, Shockwave!” He sticks out one servo and waves it in a wide arc in front of him. “Maybe I’m passing through you right now, and you’re pulling that funny angry face you make where the metal of your forehelm gets dragged down!”

The possibly-present ghost of Shockwave doesn’t answer him. Neither does the Well of the AllSpark, looming ahead of him like a glowing blue beacon.

|| 🍍• Ultra Magnus struggles severely to ponder his way around negative emotions and thoughts surrounding loneliness and failure.

Ironically, his own authoritative stoicalness is to blame. Ultra Magnus’s flaw is that to him, Optimus Prime is the pinnacle of leadership. Another common trope in more recent years (RID2015 I’m looking at you), is that we’ve seen characters try to embody Optimus’s leadership and missing the whole point of “Optimus’s way worked because it was Optimus doing it.” Ultra Magnus is no different. And this is why he clashes with certain characters. When you take one aspect of Optimus and make it your personality, it’s not gonna be so sweet for you (I actually do like UM btw :’) )

Just as Ultra Magnus struggled initially to adapt to Team: Prime (“much has changed since the war for Cybertron”), Ultra Magnus also initially struggled to adapt to the unfortunate loss of his servo, appearing frustratingly disheartened when Ratchet refused to clear him for duty - he felt useless; lonely. In both of these situations, someone else aided him out of his funk - Optimus in the first instance, and Wheeljack in the latter.

Tldr : Ultra Magnus is the reason he’s lonely and struggles with failure, because he hasn’t worked out that…

A.) He doesn’t need to embody Optimus Prime to be a good leader.

B.) Because of this, when failure/upheaval occurs, he hasn’t learned the value of a family or close-knit team interactions, such as Team: Prime, or the value in asking for help.

You explained that a rose was a type of flower but this one was plastic, seeming that it wasn't going to die of no sunlight or water

You also explained why you gave it to him is a reminder that you would always love him no matter what

Also how you won't live as long as he does, so that rose is reminder of you

Wheeljack seemed to soften at this as he thanks you for it

"What's this?" Wheeljack asked, seeming to lift the plastic rose form his view to see it up more closer, the rose was bright red as it was on a green stem that had a single leaf sticking out of the stem

"Why you giving me this though Sweets?"

This was a cute but sad moment as you explained how you couldn't live as long as him but he will always remember you when the time he has to go back to his home planet Cybertron.

Ratchet

Another bot who doesn't seem to have the time to receive gifts from others

But seeming that you were his sweetspark, he accepted the gift you gave him

It was a single rose, a rose that was plastic

He would question you on why you gave him this and what this things is because he never seem to get out of the base a lot

So you explained it terms on which he could take in easily

"Thank you for this but may i ask what is it and why you are giving me it?" He asked, his blue optics looking at the sinlge rose you just gave him

"It's a rose, but this one is plastic. A rose is a type of flower that represents love and royalty of your special ones, I gave it to you because I will always love you and that it is a reminder that I will be by your side at all costs"

Ratchet took in that information as he gave you a smile, "I'll try to keep it in good condition and safe"

You gave him a smile back as you hugged one of his digits as he caressed your head gently

Smokescreen

He is always ready to receive something from you, because well you were his sweetspark after all

He was always the charming type of bot

He would always try to impress you with some of his gifts but he never seems to get the right gift for you but you didn't mind

But for you, you had a gift in mind

Smokescreen was quite new to earth so you needed to explained to him a bit on what this gift was

The gift was a single plastic rose

You even had to explain why you gave it to him

"Oh What's this for?" Smokescreen asked as he stared at the rose, it has seemed that Smokescreen took interest in it as he stared at it more and more

"It's a rose, but a plastic one. It a type of flower to show love to someone, either it's your family, friends or loved ones. So I decided to give you one that was plastic because real ones would just die without no sunlight or water so I gave you a plastic one. It represents love, so I'm showing my love through that gift, which is the rose that I gave you"

You then looked up at Smokescreen since he hasn't said a words after explained but you could tell that he was holding in some tears

"Aw Sweetspark, You're too kind!"

Knockout

I feel like this would be his first encounter of receiving a gift from someone

Like hes around a bunch of decepticons DUH

This man need to know how loved he is

And you have a gift in mind to give him in order to let him know that you love him till the very end

but again you would have to explain what it is since he's always on the warship and somewhere on missions so I highly doubt him knowing what a rose is

"Here for you" You gave him a smile as you handed him a single rose, that had a name tag with the name 'knockout'

"What's this dear?" Knockout was quite confused on what this little thing was and why you handed it to him of all bots

"It's a rose, It's a type of flower that represents love to someone, I gave this to you because you are my soulmate and that you are willing to do anything for me, so I wanted to give you this plastic rose in return. I hope this gift will remind you of me every time you see it"

Knockout was quite speechless as he never received anything this special, you heard him give out a huff chuckle as he looked at you, leaning his digit carefully to lift you chin up as he leans down to give you something in return

This man is always busy for something like this, he would always be so busy with other stuff like missions, cons, battle, war

All of that stuff stopped him from getting gifts

But this time he had enough time for you to give him a special gift from you

You explained about the gift as he thanks you in return from receiving such a special gift from his sparkmate

"May I ask what this is little one?" Optimus asked as he examined the rose carefully, his optic looked like he was zooming in and out

"It's a rose, a type of flower to show love towards your loved ones, I got a plastic one since I know it won't die so I got that one for you so you are reminded that I'm always here for you Optimus"

You gave a smile up at Optimus as he gave one back, it was rare to see him smile but this one a genuine smile that you took notice of

It looks like he liked it a lot, that you would see him having it in his hand every time, trying to make sure he doesn't lose it or wreak it by accident

Hunkering down at the abandoned warehouse you'd been told to wait in, you kept your eyes and ears on the horizon, hoping that the hum of familiar engines would cut through the howling wind and whirling snow before long. Though the air was frigid enough to freeze your breath, the bitter cold accounted for only a small portion of your desire to swiftly reunite with the team, as you had much bigger problems that you needed help with. Well, perhaps "bigger" wasn't the right word for it...

Standing atop the opposite end of the windowsill for his own vigil, Bumblebee looked remarkably alert and well composed for someone a fraction of their natural height. You supposed that his brush with Mandroid could have gone much worse; at least the device the scientist had escaped with had only shrunk the Scout, and done no further harm. It was a double miracle that you'd managed to find his tiny form amidst the knee deep snow of the battlefield. Rubbing your gloved hands together and trying not to stare, you told yourself that Wheeljack would be able to fix everything in no time, and that a few broken laws of physics would return your beloved bot to his usual towering height. Seeing him this tiny was just too strange, and not to mention unspeakably adorable.

A kitten-sized sneeze drew your eyes away from the snowy landscape out the window, and you looked over to find the Scout hugging himself through a dramatic shiver. "Bee? You okay?" you asked quickly, unable to help feeling far more protective than usual.

"F-f-fine!" he replied just as quickly, spinning around to face you. Digits trembling, he forced a shaky smile as he attempted to pass off crossing his arms as a casual gesture, though the tiny crystals of ice you noticed spreading across his frame gave him up just as readily. The poor mech sounded like he was seconds away from turning into a tiny Autobot popsicle as he shivered through every syllable. "Just a little... ch-chilly... B-but I'm f-fine!"

A number of realizations pinged through your mind at once; Bee must have lost a considerable amount of heat while buried in the snow, he was now far too small to regain said warmth, and he had no real idea how to stop himself from freezing now that he didn't have mass to protect himself. His pride had undoubtedly kept him from voicing the problem as it worsened, leaving you with a very tiny and very frozen Scout to thaw. "You're obviously freezing! Why didn't you tell me?"

"N-never been a p-problem before..." he replied as he gave in and started to shiver. Your heart twisted in pity, and you looked about as your brain raced to think of a solution, the lack of supplies leaving you with very few options. There was no way to build a fire, nor was there any power supply to start up the building's climate control, which was probably busted anyway. If only you had a tiny jacket to share...

"I need to get you warm; fast. Let me think... oh!"

The solution that came to you was very silly, and in a less life-threatening situation you would have thought it was quite embarrassing, but the prospect of saving your beloved Scout left no room for such doubts. Unzipping the front of your coat, you offered a hand for him to climb onto.

"Come here. You'll be plenty warm under my coat." you explained, figuring he'd fit perfectly between your shirt and the ample padding. Despite the chill, Bee managed a pink blush across his frozen cheeks, optics going wide in bashful embarrassment as he put together what you meant. It seemed that his pride hadn't shrunk with him.

"Y-you don't have-"

"Shush. At this rate, you'll freeze before our ride gets here" you insisted, voice growing a tad more urgent at his worsening freeze. Just watching his wings shake in time with his shivers made you care little for any kind of pride, including your own, and you used your concern to remain steadfast. Bringing your hand close enough for him to feel the warmth radiating from your glove made his resolve visibly waver. "So for now, my heat is your heat."

"Mmm..." he hummed in uncertainty, growing more tempted by the second. No bigger than a kitten and only slightly more intimidating, he cracked after only a few additional moments of hesitation, steadying himself against your thumb as he sat in your palm. He couldn't have weighed more than a pound, and you had to stifle a reflexive squee as he instinctively pressed himself into the warmth of your hand. A drooping of his optics made resisting that much harder. "Maybe just for a few minutes..."

"Of course." you said with a knowing smile. Gently sliding him into the opening of your coat, you just managed to avoid hissing as his frigid mesh settled against your shirt, though it was easy to ignore the discomfort when the tiny bot melted against you. With the outcrop of your breasts to support him, and the... "plush" of the area in question to keep him comfortable, Bee settled down as quickly as one would on a luxary mattress. Shivers dying down before your very eyes, the Scout rested his helm against you with the tiniest sigh. You had an undeniable urge to pet him as you whispered down into the little pocket of warmth. "There. Better?"

"Much... thank you." he murmured, looking up to meet your eyes with a smile as grateful as it was sleepy. Hoping he couldn't hear the resulting flutter of your heart, you pulled the zipper up a tad to keep the heat from escaping, grateful that your mammalian physiology could come in such handy. You'd have happily watched him rest his optics for hours, but a hum in the distance drew your gaze to the frosty window. Through the thick whirls of snow, your squinting eyes made out the faint outline of a familiar truck and aircraft, followed by a number of other vehicles you'd been hoping to see. The convoy had arrived.

"I think that's our evac, do you want-"

You went quiet at the sound of the tiniest snores you'd ever heard emanating from your coat, and as soon as your heart was done with its backflip, you found yourself wondering whether or not Bee would wish to be woken before his comrades saw him snoozing atop your breasts.

TFP AUTOBOTS X READER SISTER

Raphael convinced the team to let him bring his sister to the base. Since they are getting suspicious and getting to close to finding out what happened so they agreed as long as they keep it a secret about meeting them.

Raphael agreed but when he brought them the next day, his sister looked at him and at the team and just said "Meh, I was thinking this is what you're hiding." Whitch threw Raphael off since this is not the reaction he was expecting.

The team explains that they have actually met Raphaels sister. A long time ago, they helped them when they were still new to earth.

They met (Y/N) when she was still young (Since this happened before Raphael was born and I'm making his sister older)

They welcomed them before they met the government, and they helped them. They have been in contact with (Y/N) for a while but lost contact when they moved bases.

They are glad they are back and welcomed (Y/N) back. Though, (Y/N) was very sad to learn tailgate was killed since they where close to them.

They also welcomed UltraMagnus and smokescreen. Greeting them and telling them all the stories they had with the autobots before they joined.

Optimus

After (Y/N) came by, he welcomed her and talked to them like old times.

Telling them what happened, asking them what happened with them, what changed, any new mates, etc.

He will also make himself or ratch guardian of them since he wants them to stay.

Ratchet was having mixed feelings.

He was happy (Y/N) was back but at the same time he dident want another human around.

When he started to talk to (Y/N) though he realized how he missed this.

It had been a hectic four hours on base.

The kids had been kidnapped by an unknown vehicle and the bots were scrambling to find out where they had gone.

Buddy was trying their best to calm down June when a Decepticon message was intercepted.

Megatron had sent the message.

“What does it say?”--Arcee

“Megatron will give the children if we… give him Buddy.”--Ratchet

Buddy’s back straightened at this.

“What?”--Wheeljack

“Fat chance.”—Bulkhead

Bumblebee and Smokescreen murmur in agreement.

Buddy quickly types something on their data pad and hands it to Ratchet.

“Buddy says that they are willing to do it. Buddy, we need to think this through.”--Ratchet

“Ratchet is correct. If you fall into the Decepticon hands, there is no telling what they will do to you, especially given that Megatron knows of your abilities.”--Optimus

Buddy vents frustrated clenching their servos tightly.

Optimus put a servo on their shoulder.

“We will get the children back Buddy, but as of now, we need to come up with a plan that secures everyone’s safety.”--Optimus

A plan was soon formed and set to motion.

As Megatron said he came alone with a canister with the kids to his side

Optimus walked through the bridge with Sonar by his side.

Optimus demanded the kids back.

Megatron wanted first.

Buddy slowly walked to the war lord.

Buddy walks up to Megatron with a slight pained look on their face.

Megatron’s optics soften a bit as he puts a servo on their shoulder.

“It has been many years since we have last seen each other my friend.”--Megatron

Buddy has a tight smile on their face nodding.

They felt conflicted at what was happening.

This Megatron was not the Megatronus they grew to care for.

This mech was a stranger.

…then why did they still see some of their friend behind those optics?

Megatron was about to say something when a speeding missile came at them.

Buddy quickly grabbed the canister with the kids and shielded them as they were thrown back.

Dust and sand were sprayed everywhere as shots were exchanged.

Turns out the Cons didn’t like leaving their leader alone either.

All they could do was run and shield the canister.

Buddy wanted to scream but realized that with the kids so close it wasn’t the best idea.

And if they put them down somewhere there was a good chance, they would get squashed in someone’s underpede.

There was too much dust flying everywhere.

Something kicks them in the back making them drop the canister and land hard on the ground.

Buddy suppressed the scream as something digs into their back struts.

They could feel several servos holding them down and roughly placing a muzzle on their faceplate.

But that’s not what scared them.

It was the familiar claps of a shock collar that sent them into a frenzy panic.

Buddy tried screaming but the collar simply shocked them.

They squirmed and tried again to talk only to be shocked again.

They knew they were going to get captured.

Buddy only hoped that the kids were okay and escaped.

Suddenly the cuffs were taken off and the muzzle tossed aside.

They still didn’t dare to move until the collar was off.

They shakingly pushed back from the ground and looked at who got the restraints off of them.

They swore they were about to faint.

There knelt a couple feet away was Soundwave.

Buddy and Soundwave stared at each other.

Tears built around Buddy’s optics as a sad smile etched on their face.

They wanted to scream in joy that they found their Conjunx.

Sing to Primus that their beloved was here.

Soundwave slowly reached for their servo.

…He never saw the hammer coming.

The last thing he saw was Buddy being slung over Bulkhead’s shoulder looking like they were going to sob at any moment.

Back at the Autobot base…

Bulkhead sets Buddy down on the med slab.

Buddy barely registers Ratchet checking them up.

“Buddy?”--Raf

They look down to see Raf and the other children by their side.

“Are you okay?”--Raf

Buddy hesitates to answer, thankfully June intervenes.

“How about we give them some time to rest. Doctor’s orders.”--June

Buddy flashes her a thankful look as she guides the children out of the room.

They tap the slab loud enough to get Ratchet’s attention.

He moves closer only to get trapped in their arms.

He wanted to move but the sniffling told him otherwise.

It had been a tough day for everyone.

It's once again a nighttime and I'm once again here with scene/character analysis.

As it's prominent from the last few post I'm a quite Ultra Magnus enjoyer, and I'm very upset at how people see him as heartless nerd. I see him as a person very damaged by the war. So here's some of my thoughts.

Ultra Magnus has a great problems with fitting in, because he forgot how to be in this kind of relationship and it's just depressing. For at least a century he has been in a war that took all his time for friends and especially family. And part of me thinks it is because Ultra Magnus is used to communication with orders. In "Evolution" we can see how he really tries to start a conversation, but all he knows now is orders and missions. And the next problem with him is he doesn't belong. He doesn't know what a family is, Wheeljack sends very clear messages that he is not welcomed to the Wreckers. Magnus felt completely isolated and this inability to make deeper connections than commander-soldier doesn't let him comprehend familial relationships. And I have some proofs.

The most important one is this line.

"The members of team prime are not cogs in a machine."

Why would Optimus use this particular line? It felt very meaningful and even as a non-english speaker, I felt it was very important for Ultra Magnus' character. So I went to Internet for the answer and I found this..

This one line opened a lot abt my boy. UM considers himself and team Prime through this war prism. "You are important,but we know how war is. Everyone can't survive. Sometimes you have to sacrifice something for a better outcome. Magnus doesn't think he's better than the rest of Team Prime, quite contrary, he holds himself by the same standards. I think Ultra Magnus sees himself as this metaphorical cog in a machine. He is important now, but if he isn't important in great scheme of things. This sounds like a very army type of mentality. He's prepared to die for a mission and sees little value in himself apart from weaponry and missions. So when Predaking had him and Wheeljack cornered he accepted it fairly quickly, yet was saddened with a thought of joining the allspark, especially with Wheeljack, whom he is to protect as his subordinate.

After Ultra Magnus wakes up, he's met with a lot of pleasant developments. Now he is fully accepted, Team Prime is by his side, and even Wheeljack drops this very meaningful line "Magnus fought like a wrecker"(=you're accepted in our group). And after finally asking OP about what was a Team Prime, he found out about a new concept, that basically breaks all his perceptions.

Family.

It isn't the army, or the elite guard where you are easily replaceable and aren't important. Now Ultra Magnus is family. And, forgive me for cliché, but you can't replace a family. They all are accepting each other and won't willingy leave someone behind for a brighter future.

I think if Ultra Magnus had more screen time his arc would be about relearning to care/connect in a deeper way and finding your own and others' importance, showcasing hardships of a soldier, trying to become more relaxed and closer to a people he knows and loves.

(Also UM and OP have this so sweet bond. Former is, being as socially awkward as he is, still being honest about his feelings and asking smt he doesn't understand. And Optimus completely trusts his lieutenant with the team family and is able to see when the other's uncomfortable/sad. I dunno, they're so brothers/friends. They're very close without having much interactions on screen.)

There's no way out for you now for sure. Well maybe there is but whatever. The sentinel just stood there waiting for you to move or try anything, but you were frozen in fear. You can't just stand there forever?! Trying to look for a way the sentinel makes it move to attack you, but it's hand goes right through you. You're glad your mutation is too rare for Trask to know about it, his unknowledge of it just saved your goddamn life!

"Prime, are you seeing this!? One of the decepticons has gone wild and attacking civilians!"

"We'll deal with it, agent fowler. Autobots, roll out!"

You heard a weird noise, but you don't have the time to process it when it's your life on the line. Tears of panic bubbling your eyes made it hard to see, you can't stay in this form for too long. You try to move and change form but the sentinel is still trying to kill you. No long after a loud noise and electric cracking was heard. "Killing humans is new for the decepticons... Are you okay, human?" Looking up you see a new robot with more colour and an actual face. "Scared but alive and unharmed." It's foolish for you to do this, but you change your existence back to normal. Now you just realized. There is big. Ass. Robots. In front of you, in panic your mutation went off. "You won't kill me right. Like the sentinels?" The robot raised a metal brow. "Sentinels? That's a new decepticon i've never heard off." Decepticons? The hell is that? "Sir, sentinels are human technology, made to destroy mutants..not whatever you just said."

Feeling safe enough you turn back to normal and glance at the robots in front of you. "You're not from earth, aren't you?" The bots look at you with almost worry in their optics. "The secrets safe with me. I'm hiding from the government as well. Go Team hiders, i guess."

Optimus Prime

He didn't even know mutants are a thing on earth.

He took you under his "wings" since you're hiding for your own life and treats you like one of his own.

Is actually amazed of your mutation and shares his thoughts on it to you.

He knows it's a big threat if the decepticons find out about you or your mutation, if that happens, you will be kept in base 24/7

Questions humanitys acts to kill every mutant possible. They're an unique thing among humans.

Doesn't like you showing off your mutation of asking anyone of the bots to try and kick you, but the concern he had vanished, the moment wheeljacks ped went through you.

If you find any other mutants they sadly can't stay at the base, but he's glad you understand.

Talks to Agent Fowler about the sentinels and killing of decent human beings, but is actually sad if nothing changes in the government

Ratchet

Is annoyed about a new human arriving to the base, but maybe you're not that bad he hopes.

Turns out you're his new favorite the moment he finds your presence calming and actually nice.

I hope you know when to be quiet. Ratchet likes his quite working time.

If you don't then you're getting treated like Miko for sure:)

You might get close to him like Raf! Father and Son right there :,)

He's glad he doesn't need to watch his step if you're the only "human" there.

You sad? Das not good, you get a first row view of ratchet working = You get to sit on his shoulder

Arcee

Wonders how in the hell you survived that sentinel until she sees your ability.

Doesn't worry about watching her step if you're the only 'human' there since you just vanish through her peds.

Her spark skips a beat if wheeljack tries to kick you more than once.

But does genuinely care about you so she watches her step atleast a little so you don't feel bad :)

Talks to you if you feel like an outcast since you're being hunted down by sentinels, because people think you're "dangerous"

Is actually a great listener and takes you for drives to thin about things.

He would try and attack the sentinel just to protect you as a regural human, or so atleast he thought you were.

Was frightened how you thought the team was going to kill you :,)

If you feel sad he gives you comfort even if you don't understand him, he also gives great soft hugs <3

Mutation or not you're awesome!! He does want to learn about humans and mutants, but his voice box denies him from it. Raf is his translator and you're biggest helper then!

Still watches his steps no matter if you could dodge it

Bulkhead & Wheeljack

Bulkhead is confused as always, Wheeljack thinks it's pretty cool and ofc he wants proof. A little test of a kick won't hurt right? Of course it didn't, but gave everybot a spark attack <3

They wanted to wreck that sentinel so bad! Why kill other humans when they're devine?! Because humanity sucks

Bulkhead asks how do you live with it a lot of the times even if you have answered before. He's so confused that he doesn't even realize you can control it.

Won't stress about you tagging along to missions, but still follow optimus' command of not bringing humans to the battlefield (Rule is broken twice now!)

Wheeljack fights with Ultra Magnus about protocols just because he wanted to go for a drive with you and talk about both of your past

Still thinks the sentinel is an decepticon, but no it is not :)

As always find your mutation cool and supports you through it all since he's so sweet and a lively young bot.
