every so often I think about how my dad was doing ethical veganism for, like, seven solid years and spent the whole time talking about how he just couldn't stand to eat meat anymore because he's an empath and how the use of animal products is literally never and has never been morally excusable under any circumstances and then one day was like 'I bought a grill! check out these sick ribs I just made!' so extremely suddenly that all three of us kids were like '....?? .... meat ribs.....???' and when I finally asked him what was up he sent a shrug emoji and said he wanted to lose weight so he started keto
#INSANE. INSANE. INSANE!!#YOU HAVE THE MORAL BACKBONE OF A CHOCOLATE ECLAIR!!!#'it's so hard to find truly vegan stuff because of stuff like carmine' type of guy!#'what's a good vegan alternative to honey' type of guy!#'as your dad I feel guilty for being part of brainwashing you into the normalization of meat consumption' type of guy!!#'mmmm this pizza is SO tasty and no animals even had to suffer for it 😌' type of guy!!#KETO?? KETO??? FOR KETO???? TO LOSE WEIGHT?????#WHERE AM I!!!!#also WEIRD and ANNOYING FOR ME because like. it's possible to be vegetarian or vegan for reasons that aren't stupid#but a lot of his like. were not. that. but it's not even 'oh did you think it through and change your mind? oh. no? for a diet huh. hm.'#'you think your personal discomfort with eating meat points to an ontological ethical truth? but also you're dumping it for WHY???'#makes me CRAZY!!#BIG 'just divorced my vegan wife' energy but HE DIDN'T. SHE ALSO IS LIKE 'YAY RIBS NOW I JUST DECIDED :)' LIKE ????#my brother and I were messaging each other immediately like 'uhhh did YOU know about...?' 'NO???' 'OKAY WHAT THE FUCK'#and he said dad had just been talking to HIM like A WEEK PRIOR?? ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND NON-LEATHER SEAT COVERS FOR HIS JEEP OR SMTH?#crazy! crazy!!!#about me

wow so cute. NOT! who the hell do you think you are
#trick question he doesn't know#94#also i loove the 3 mouth...#in a soft subtle way#the protein bar thing is very projectingful of me but genuinely#i actually do like protein bars but i've had hundreds over the past 16 months so i know how disgusting they can be#i feel like protein bar addiction is such a specific experience#addiction is a strong word it's just the food i autistically latched onto after aldi stopped selling my keto bagels#not that i believe in keto. but they worked for me...#i ate those w 2 eggs+egg whites every day for half a year almost without fail#and then i lost them forever and then i went through a phase where i struggled to eat and then i started going batshit w protein bars#i had 3 1/2 today it's not looking too good#that's because i went a few weeks or maybe a month without any and whenever i get a new box#after not having any for a while i tend to go through it really fast#and i get them at sam's club too so they're big boxes yk it's kind of embarrassing#it's a big part of my diet. don't do this to yourself ever#what the hell was my point my point was that a super solider diet requires a lot of protein and bucky would not do well w eating enough#so he starts relying on protein bars because it's the same everytime and it's better than nothing#what do you think his favorites would be...#would love to hear about bucky's protein bar ranking tierlist

i'm glad i decided to try out a ketosis diet again (aka changing my metabolism to basically only use ketone bodies made from fatty acids for energy by reducing carb intake to max 20g/day) for a few weeks because it was a neat experiment but i'm also glad I decided to stop because now i get to enjoy life's greatest fucking simplest yet finest delicacy: mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes with melted butter and salt. i cannot understand how i could live without that. just. vegetables. keto has opened my eyes to new ways to cook foods and experiment with ingredients but i don't think i can live without carbs. i doubt that the majority of people could. also have you any idea how much good simple near-zero effort food there is out there like holy gosh darn in heaven. i don't have to spend hours cooking something to have a nice meal
#food mention#diets#actually anything carb with butter and salt. how can it be so good. call me a lazy goob but i once just microwaved corn and butter#added salt. and it was the most delicious fuckin thing ive ever eaten#i've done low-carb in the past and tried keto a few times and always it felt so great after the keto flu disappeared after a few days#but this time the keto flu did not go away. i felt so weak and awful but at the same time i had less brain fog. and never felt hungry.#but it was werid. i think it might have been because i've been kinda high carb for the last few years and the change was so strong & sudden#also electrolyte imbalances can happen on keto if you're not careful. it's complex.#anyway it got me to eat a bit healthier like (almost) completely avoiding processed foods and unnaturally high sugary stuff#which i just want to generally avoid for personal health reasons which is a whole can of worms but i just dont want to overindulge#sure i can eat an entire bag of candies or chips in an evening if i feel like it but I *feel* my body just being like “nooo” and sure enoug#the next morning i do feel a little bit extra like shit#and another thing: i think i benefit from abrupt diet changes now and then. it feels natural in a way. ye olde scavenger hunter genetics#ya know. our nomadic ancestors would probably have to do that a lot when things weren't year-round available#sometimes only meat for months on end in cold seasons/areas#sometimes basically only plants and nuts roots and seeds and stuff#it's actually remarkable how human metabolism can adapt so much depending on what's available to eat#sometimes fasting for days when food was just nowhere to be found.#i'm not saying “stress your metabolic system it's good for you'” (it probably isnt) just idk. mixing it up a bit at least works for me#btw disclaimer i HATE the whole thing about diet-pressuring and some people claiming that certain diets will solve everything#it doesn't solve all health problems magically. ”"”superfoods“”“ are not a 100% faultless scientifically proven thing.#shit like ''the paleo diet is the number one key to optimal health without medications!!'' no. shut.#on the other hand i do believe diets can help a bit like a nudge. it's just one factor out of many that affects how we feel#ANYWAY conclusion: eat what you want. do what feels right for you. find your own ways to make the food you eat help your health a bit#or don't! be yourself! love yourself!#the chosen method is gonna be different for everybody#but from now on im gonna try and eat as close to natural unprocessed foods as I can in this day and age. it feels right for me somehow.#i think *my* preferred method/diet whatever is to mainly eat natural unprocessed foods and to mix it up a bit now and then with change#for that sweet ''METABOLIC ADAPTATION'' perk that feels good for me#(why did this post become so long. nobody cares. anyway i don't care if nobody cares. i care. *I* care!!! wooopp)

How much weight can a woman lose on keto in a week?
Ready to jump start weight loss journey with a keto diet? Download our free keto eBook for recipes, meal plans and expert tips. start journey to a healthier you today.
It's difficult to predict exactly how much weight a woman can lose on the ketogenic diet in a week, as weight loss depends on a variety of factors, including age, body composition, activity level, and overall health.
In general, most people can expect to lose one to two pounds per week on a healthy and sustainable weight loss plan. However, during the initial stages of the ketogenic diet, some people may experience a more significant weight loss due to the loss of water weight associated with carbohydrate restriction.
It is important to keep in mind that sustainable weight loss involves making lifestyle changes that are maintainable over the long term. The ketogenic diet may be effective for some people, but it may not be the best approach for everyone. Before starting any new diet or weight loss plan, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the best approach for your individual needs and goals.

How Atkins and the Keto Diet are Similar but Different
Low-carbohydrate diets have been gaining popularity in recent years due to their potential health benefits and effectiveness in aiding weight loss. Among the many low-carb diets, the Atkins and Keto diets are two of the most well-known. Although they share some similarities, there are also some significant differences between the two. In this article, we will explore the similarities and differences between the Atkins and Keto diets and help you decide which one is best for you.
Introduction
The Atkins and Keto diets are two popular low-carb diets that have gained significant attention in recent years for their potential weight loss and health benefits. Both diets restrict carbohydrate intake and focus on increasing fat and protein consumption, but they differ in their approach to macronutrient ratios and overall health benefits. This article will explore the similarities and differences between the Atkins and Keto diets, as well as their potential risks and benefits. It will also provide tips for incorporating these diets into a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. If you want to learn more on the Keto Diet read Dr. Dexters Keto Guide for a more full overview of the keto diet and get keto tips.
Definition of low-carb diets
Low-carbohydrate diets are diets that restrict or limit the intake of carbohydrates, including sugars and starches, and focus on consuming protein and fat instead. The goal of a low-carb diet is to force the body to burn fat for fuel instead of glucose, which can lead to weight loss and improved health.
Importance of low-carb diets
Low-carb diets have been shown to have many potential health benefits, including improved blood sugar control, lower blood pressure, and reduced inflammation. They may also aid in weight loss and improve cardiovascular health.
Brief history of Atkins and Keto diets
The Atkins diet was developed by Dr. Robert Atkins in the 1960s and gained popularity in the 1990s. The Keto diet, on the other hand, is a more recent development, gaining popularity in the early 2010s. Both diets are based on the principles of low-carb eating, but they differ in their macronutrient ratios and other factors.
What is Atkins Diet?
The Atkins Diet is a low-carbohydrate diet that was popularized in the 1970s by Dr. Robert Atkins. The diet is based on the theory that limiting carbohydrates and increasing protein and fat intake will lead to weight loss and improved health. The Atkins Diet consists of four phases: induction, ongoing weight loss, pre-maintenance, and maintenance. During the induction phase, carbohydrate intake is limited to 20 grams per day. As the diet progresses, carbohydrates are gradually reintroduced.
Definition of Atkins diet
The Atkins diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet that is divided into four phases. The first phase, known as the induction phase, restricts carbohydrate intake to 20 grams per day and focuses on protein and fat consumption instead.
Phases of Atkins diet
The four phases of the Atkins diet are:
Induction: This phase restricts carbohydrate intake to 20 grams
Ongoing weight loss: In this phase, carbohydrate intake is gradually increased to find the optimal carb level for weight loss.
Pre-maintenance: This phase increases carbohydrate intake even further to prepare the body for maintenance.
Maintenance: This phase is the long-term maintenance phase where carbohydrate intake is increased to a sustainable level.
Foods to eat and avoid on Atkins diet
Foods that are allowed on the Atkins diet include meat, fish, eggs, cheese, vegetables, and healthy fats. Carbohydrate-rich foods like bread, pasta, and sugary foods are restricted.
What is Keto Diet?
The Keto Diet, short for ketogenic diet, is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that aims to put the body into a state of ketosis. This is achieved by drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and increasing fat consumption. When the body is in ketosis, it burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. The diet has gained popularity for its potential benefits in weight loss, diabetes control, and improved mental clarity.
Definition of Keto diet
The Keto diet, also known as the ketogenic diet, is a very low-carb, high-fat diet that is designed to put the body in a state of ketosis. Ketosis is a metabolic state where the body burns fat for fuel instead of glucose.
Phases of Keto diet
There are no specific phases of the Keto diet. Instead, the focus is on maintaining a consistent state of ketosis by consuming a very low amount of carbohydrates.
Foods to eat and avoid on Keto diet
Foods that are allowed on the Keto diet include meat, fish, eggs, cheese, vegetables, and healthy fats. Carbohydrate-rich foods like bread, pasta, and sugary foods are strictly limited.
Comparison of Atkins and Keto Diets
Both the Atkins and Keto diets are low-carbohydrate, high-fat diets that aim to promote weight loss and improve health. However, the Keto diet is stricter in terms of carbohydrate intake and focuses on achieving ketosis, while the Atkins diet has four phases with varying carbohydrate levels. The Atkins diet may be more flexible but can lead to more gradual weight loss, while the Keto diet is more restrictive but can result in quicker weight loss.
Differences in macronutrient ratios
The Atkins diet typically has a higher protein intake than the Keto diet. The Keto diet is a very high-fat diet, with up to 75% of calories coming from fat, while the Atkins diet is a moderate-fat diet with around 40% of calories coming from fat.
Differences in carb intake
The induction phase of the Atkins diet restricts carbohydrate intake to 20 grams per day, while the Keto diet typically restricts carbohydrate intake to 20-50 grams per day.
Differences in protein intake
The Atkins diet typically has a higher protein intake than the Keto diet. This is because the induction phase of the Atkins diet focuses on high protein consumption.
Differences in fat intake
The Keto diet is a very high-fat diet, with up to 75% of calories coming from fat, while the Atkins diet is a moderate-fat diet with around 40% of calories coming from fat.
Differences in health benefits
Both diets have been shown to have potential health benefits, such as improved blood sugar control and weight loss. However, the Keto diet may have additional benefits for neurological conditions such as epilepsy.
Differences in weight loss results
Both diets have been shown to be effective for weight loss, but the Keto diet may lead to more rapid weight loss in the short term.
Differences in potential side effects
The Atkins diet may cause side effects such as constipation, bad breath, and high cholesterol levels. The Keto diet may cause side effects such as the "Keto flu," which is characterized by headaches, nausea, and fatigue.
Which Diet is Better for You?
Factors to consider when choosing a low-carb diet
When choosing a low-carb diet, factors to consider include personal health goals, lifestyle, and food preferences.
Pros and cons of Atkins diet
Pros of the Atkins diet include rapid weight loss and potential health benefits. Cons of the Atkins diet include potential side effects and a restrictive induction phase.
Pros and cons of Keto diet
Pros of the Keto diet include rapid weight loss and potential health benefits, especially for neurological conditions. Cons of the Keto diet include potential side effects and the restrictive nature of the diet, which may make it difficult to follow long-term.
Conclusion: Atkins vs Keto
While both the Atkins and Keto diets are low-carb diets that focus on weight loss and improving health, they have some key differences in their macronutrient ratios, carb intake, protein intake, and health benefits. Ultimately, the best diet for an individual will depend on their personal health goals, lifestyle, and food preferences.
FAQs

Honestly I was expecting it to be upsetting and triggering but not to this extent like that's actually insane I don't even know how to react but I feel so sorry for him...
hoesntly the messages on their own weren't that upsetting (especially compared to some of the messed up things Kihyun says abt dieting) but what made it worse is that apparently a lot mbb were sending him tips abt how to 'fight the hunger' and stuff and praising him.... that's just messed up considering he did not need to lose weight period.
#im not sure what he really means by not eating carbs at all. like is he trying keto?#bc i did try that and i was never hungry. like I felt the fullest and most sustained when I was doing keto a few years back#bc if he's on a highly restrictive carb it probably means he's on a high protein diet...? idk#i just don't get why they should torture themselves like this#just use a facetune/slimming app... i feel like that's less destructive in comparison *skull emoji*#ask#joosgf

'well of course fad diets don't work' -- guy on keto
#all diets. all diets. all attempts to permanently lose weight by any means including exercise. but also you are literally on a fad diet lol#anyway I shared that 'everything you know about obesity is wrong' article on facebook and only regret it a little bit#I said on twitter that a lot of people are resistant to consistent ongoing findings about weightloss being functionally impossible#not just because of fatphobia toward others but also because most people are themselves trying to lose weight#they've got personal stakes in it! weight loss HAS to be possible because I NEED it to be possible for ME#not to get too personal but when I found out my... body type is a deformity and wasn't just a second puberty away from improving#I went through every stage of grief and then was able to MOVE ON. what choice did I have short of cosmetic surgery?#and after learning about the statistical impossibility of weight loss I felt the same way about being fat#but people fixed on weight loss can't allow themselves to Accept their bodies; they're trapped in Denial and Bargaining#yo-yo dieting is worse for your health than just being fat-- and any successful diet functionally IS yo-yo dieting#'the point of the article is that you should focus on a healthy diet and lifestyle uwu' -- GUY WHO GAVE UP VEGANISM FOR KETO??#actually the POINT of the article is shut the fuck up about finger wagging fat people about their diets and lifestyles!! it’s becoming clearer that “being fat makes you diabetic” is actually misapplied observation and like, backwards cause and effect. insulin resistance is the main factor in type 2 diabetes. it was thought being fat made you insulin resistant. turns out it’s the other way round; insulin resistance causes the body to store fat at a greater rate. like yes, once the weight is gained it can then contribute more to resistance and things can snowball, but the initiating factor is not being fat.
fatphobia and ableism is so insidious. You can look up like, food, and it'll say "eating a lot of food causes diabetes" and you're like oh dang what? I thought we didn't know the cause of diabetes. So you look up what causes diabetes and it says "we still don't know what causes diabetes" bruh they're just making shit up to give people eating disorders
#type 1 is caused by no insulin production type 2 is caused by insulin resistance#and what causes the resistance or pancreatic damage is often uncertain#absolutely poor diet and lack of exercise can EXACERBATE EXISTING TYPE 2 DIABETES#but eating carbs and eating sugar will not give you diabetes; neither t1 or t2#also keto is a fucking scam and a lie and puts people in the hospital on a regular basis

The Benefits of Keto Meal.
Introduction to the Keto Diet
The Ketogenic diet, for short is a low carb, high-fat diet that aims at changing the body's fuel source from carbohydrates to fats. The metabolic state that results from burning fat for energy is termed ketosis; it results from the burning of fat for energy in the production of ketones.
Why people use the keto diet
1. Weight Loss: burn fat efficiently through the reduction of carbohydrate intake.
2. Blood Sugar Management: the keto diet can stabilize glucose and insulin levels.
3. Cognitive Benefits: many claim improved Focus and mental clarity.
4. Energy Boost: Ketones provide a reliable energy supply, and there will be no sugar crash.
The central keto diet principle is to have about 70% of fats, 20-25% proteins, and 5-10% carbs.
Benefits of Keto Meal
Long term Weight Loss A keto meal is a very effective method in controlling hunger because insulin is stabilized.
You can keep your appetite for much longer time, and your blood sugar rollercoaster ride prevents cravings because you tend to lose less weight if your diet is fluctuated with constant sugar level peaks and drops. Sharp Brain Function and Focus Ketones are a supply of energy for the brain stable source of. Unlike carbohydrates whose level fluctuate constantly throughout the day; hence, there is neither morning mental fog nor depression or brain fuziness.
Improved Blood Glucose Control Ketogenic diet meals help subjects of type 2 diabetics or in-insulin resistance by ensuring lessened blood glucose. Furthermore, insulin sensitivity goes better since there exists lower levels of carbohydrates input, thereby reducing quick jump of blood sugar rate in the blood that sometimes is hazardous to bodies as they cause very risky levels of blood Sustained Energy Endurance Fat is one good energy source compared with carbs.
Many Dieters have experienced constant stream levels of energy to flow during their entire lifetime the day without the mid-afternoon crash. Reducing Inflammation Low-carb diets are correlated with decreased levels of chronic inflammation. Most people find relief from issues like joint pain and migraines when adopting a low-carb lifestyle. How to Live Keto Meal Planning
