Ketchum vs. Ketchum! Showdown in Cerulean City!
Woo! Finale time! I wanted to make this final battle feel special and give it more substance than I could do with just a comic. So! I got the help of @cyberwulf to write out this ending in fanfic form! Check it out here on AO3 if you prefer! If not, the journey continues below the cut~

James Sidestory / Meowth Sidestory
A lot has happened since our Poké Moms began their journey. After a rocky start…
“*SQUAWK*”
…they’ve managed to catch some new Pokémon…
“Run! Run! Run!”
…in their own way.
“What a cute baby! You know, I have a son, too!”
With their month on the road almost up, Delia had just one more thing she wanted to do…
“I want to beat the Cerulean City Gym!”
But little did Delia know, there was a surprise waiting for her in Cerulean City!
“MOM??? JESSIE???”
“Let’s have a double battle! You and Ash versus Jessie and I!”
“You’re on! But I’m not going easy on you just cuz you’re family!”
“…What’s going on?”

Ketchum vs Ketchum! Showdown in Cerulean City!
The water of the Cerulean gym battlefield glistened in the sunshine streaming through its crystal glass roof. Both teams gazed at each other with steely determination (and some lingering confusion, in Misty’s case) as above them, the Drone Rotom announced the rules.
“This will be a double battle between Gym Leader Misty and Champion Ash, and the challengers Delia and Jessie.” It projected a holographic image of both teams. “For today’s battle, each trainer may use two Pokémon. The battle is over when all of one team’s Pokémon can no longer battle.”
“All right!” Misty declared. “This is an official League battle for the Cascade badge!”
“And bragging rights!” Jessie added with a smirk.
“We’ll see about that!” Ash retorted. Misty glanced at him, taking in his clenched fists and gritted teeth. She’d seen Ash determined before, but… there was something here that she was missing. However, with the Drone Rotom hovering expectantly overhead, finding out what that something was would have to wait.
“Come out – Corsola!”
The Coral Pokémon landed on the rock in front of her, eagerly crying its name.
“This is a water-themed gym, so I’ll go with a Water-Type,” Ash remarked. “Oshawott, I choose you!”
“That’s the spirit, Ash!” Misty exclaimed. “It’s the job of a Gym Leader to help trainers learn type advantage and weaknesses by specialising in one kind of Pokémon, and around here that’s Water-Types!”
“Water, huh?” Jessie frowned as she considered the three Pokémon she had on hand. “Well, I don’t want my delicate little Ziggy to get her fur wet.” With a flourish, she tossed a Pokéball high in the air. “Go, Venomoth!”
The Poison Moth Pokémon emerged, hovering over the water.
“It’s a shame we don’t have any Grass or Electric-types,” Delia mused. “I guess we’ll just have to do our best with what we have.” Pushing her bangs out of her face, she called, “I choose you!”
Ash and Misty’s jaws dropped as the light from Delia’s Pokéball coalesced into a very large, very stern-looking Kangaskhan.
“I didn’t know your mom had such a strong Pokémon,” Misty whispered.
“Neither did I,” Ash whispered back. Movement at the corner of his eye caught his attention and he looked down at his starter Pokémon. “Something wrong, Pikachu?”
“Pika…”
Pikachu gazed across the water at Kangaskhan, ears and tail up, alert to… something. But before anyone could figure out what had caught his attention, there was a small cry.
“Kangaskhan!”
The baby squirmed, spooked by the glistening water lapping all around the rock. She buried her face in her mother’s belly and cried again. Cradling her young protectively, Kangaskhan gave Delia an apologetic look.
“Oh, of course!” Delia exclaimed. “I’m so sorry. Kangaskhan, return.” Cupping her hands around her mouth, she called across the battlefield. “That doesn’t count as one of my Pokémon, does it?”
“Of course not, Ms. Ketchum!” Misty shouted back. “Please choose another Pokémon!”
“If she’s got one,” Ash said with a confident smirk. “I’m betting she’ll send out Mimey.”
“I choose you… Clefairy!”
“Looks like you bet wrong, Ash,” Misty laughed as Ash stared in surprise at the Fairy Pokémon.
Above them, the Drone Rotom moved into position.
“Begin!”
“All right, Oshawott!” Ash called out. “Open up with an Aqua Jet!”
With a determined cry, Oshawott blasted a jet of water across the field, hitting Clefairy square in the belly and knocking the Fairy Pokémon off the rock and into the water.
“Ash Ketchum!” Delia exclaimed reproachfully. “That wasn’t very nice!”
Thrown off-guard, Ash gulped. “S-sorry!” (Oh man - I can’t believe I’m actually battling my mom!)
On the opposite side of the battlefield, a wet and bedraggled Clefairy clambered back up on the rock ridge, scowling at her attacker.
“Shake it off, Clefairy!” Delia urged as her Pokémon did just that, sending a fine shower of water droplets flying from her pink fur. “Use Disarming Voice!”
With a deep breath, Clefairy shot a vortex of pink hearts towards Oshawott, taking the Sea Otter Pokémon by surprise and knocking him into the water.
“Good work, Deerling!” Jessie shouted triumphantly. “Now it’s my turn!” She pointed at Corsola. “Venomoth, use Poison Sting!”
Venomoth hovered uncertainly for a few moments, then looked back at her.
“It doesn’t look like Venomoth knows that move, honey,” Delia remarked.
“Well, Dustox knew that move!” Jessie protested. “Venomoth should know it too, aren’t they both Bug-types?”
Venomoth just blinked at her.
“You really don’t know what moves your Pokémon knows?” Misty asked incredulously.
“Of course I do, just – just let me think!” Jessie spluttered, clenching her fists. “All right, Venomoth – use Gust!”
Venomoth didn’t move.
“Whirlwind!” Jessie tried. “Psybeam! …Tackle?”
Venomoth looked back and forth between Jessie and the battlefield as it fluttered about agitatedly, utterly confused by the barrage of unfamiliar orders.
“This is just sad,” Misty muttered, getting a nod of agreement from Ash. Raising her voice, she called out, “Corsola! Use Spike Cannon!”
Corsola glowed, and a split second later a shower of glowing white spikes slammed into Venomoth, driving it backwards towards the trainer box.
“Oh, no!” Delia groaned in dismay, wringing her hands. “Maybe we should’ve practiced with our new Pokémon before coming here!”
“We’re not giving up!” Jessie snarled, clenching her fists. “Venomoth! Get back out there!”
With a trill, Venomoth shook off the spikes, and floated towards its opponents again.
“Corsola!” Misty called. “Hit it with another Spike Cannon!”
Corsola began to glow.
“Well don’t just hover there!” Jessie barked out. “It’s about to attack again!” Venomoth looked back at her, and Jessie gestured angrily towards the battlefield. “Just do something! Anything!”
Once more, glowing white spikes shot towards Venomoth. This time, however, Venomoth dove towards the attack, sweeping its wings in front of itself at the last minute. Blue blades of light cut through the barrage of spikes, one hitting Corsola and driving it back.
“That’s Air Slash!” Ash exclaimed.
“Air Slash, eh?” Jessie shot her opponents a triumphant smirk. “Venomoth! Use Air Slash on that pitiful pink Pokémon again!”
“Hang in there, Corsola!” Misty called as her Pokémon was driven back for a second time. “Use Recover!”
“Don’t let it recover, Venomoth!” Jessie yelled. “Air Slash again!”
As her Pokémon geared up for another attack, she noticed Delia gazing at her in rapture.
“You’re so ferocious when you battle, Smoochum,” Delia remarked dreamily. She lowered her voice, waggling her eyebrows. “It’s kinda hot.”
Jessie blushed and giggled. “Baaabe, not in front of the twerps.”
Misty wrinkled her nose in disgust. “…Smoochum?”
“Freak out later, Misty!” Ash yelled. Venomoth was bearing down on Corsola, and the Coral Pokémon didn’t have much left. “Oshawott! Use Hydro Pump on Venomoth to protect Corsola!”
Leaping high into the air, Oshawott sent a powerful jet of water directly at Jessie’s Venomoth. With a cry, the Poison Moth hit the floor between Jessie and Delia, bounced once, and fainted.
“Hey, no fair!” Jessie bellowed, stamping her foot. “I was distracted!” She recalled Venomoth with a scowl. “I ought to ground you for making me look bad!”
“This is really weird,” Misty mumbled.
“You have no idea,” Ash sighed wearily.
“All right, you big blue blob,” Jessie growled to her faithful Patient Pokémon, “get out there and let’s win this thing!”
Saluting, Wobbuffet waddled forward, straight into the water. Jessie pinched the bridge of her nose as Wobbuffet awkwardly clambered up onto the protruding rock.
“Wobbles can’t attack unless he’s attacked first,” Delia murmured to herself. “Oshawott is strong, and Corsola can use Recover to gain back health. That means I’ve got to make this next move count!” She looked to Clefairy, wet and winded but not out of the battle. It was risky, but…
“Clefairy! Use Metronome!”
“Metronome?!” Misty exclaimed as Clefairy began to move her fingers hypnotically back and forth. “Now anything can happen!”
“Hold tight, everybody!” Ash called, just as the Fairy Pokémon’s fingers turned white.
Razor-sharp leaves whipped through the air, striking Oshawott and Corsola. The Grass-Type move was too much for the dual Rock/Water Type, and Corsola collapsed into the water, fainted. Oshawott was driven back against the rock ridge, and Ash held his breath, but the Drone Rotom only counted Corsola out.
“Oshawott! You hanging in there, buddy?”
With a grimace, the Sea Otter Pokémon gave him a determined nod. “Osha!”
“Ha!” Jessie cried triumphantly. “Now we’re even!” She clenched her fists, calling tauntingly across the battlefield. “Who’s next, twerpette? Togepi? Psyduck?”
“She sure is cocky for being down to just Wobbuffet,” Ash muttered.
“Not for long,” Misty replied with a smirk. She plucked her second Pokéball from her hip.
“Go – Gyarados!”
Delia’s eyes widened and Jessie took several steps back as the gigantic Pokémon appeared in the water. It glowered down at both trainers, making Delia swallow hard.
(Now’s not the time to lose my nerve! Gyarados is just a Pokémon like any other. All I have to do is-)
“Hey!” Jessie exclaimed angrily. “No fair using such a powerful Pokémon! What, are Staryu and Starmie at the Pokémon Centre or something?!”
Taken aback, Misty gaped at the former Team Rocket member in disbelief. “Since when do you care about playing fair?”
“Since you decided to use that monstrosity on a first-time trainer!” Jessie retorted with a shake of her fist. “That’s cheating!”
Misty paused, almost second-guessing her choice of Pokémon, when she remembered who she was dealing with. Squaring her shoulders, she shot back, “You’re not a first-time trainer!”
“Could’ve fooled me,” Ash muttered.
“I heard that!” Jessie bawled.
“It’s okay, honey,” Delia murmured, placing her hand on Jessie’s shoulder. “We can beat them. We just need to use strategy!”
“Gyarados!” Misty called out. Jessie may not have been the best trainer, and her track record with him was hit or miss, but Wobbuffet could reflect almost any attack. It might just have been luck, but Clefairy’s Metronome had taken out Corsola and left Oshawott just barely hanging on. There was only one choice of target.
“Use Hurricane on Clefairy, now!”
Rearing back, Gyarados shot a powerful blast of air directly at the Fairy Pokémon, sending her flying back to the trainer box.
“Oh no!” Delia cried. She knelt by her stricken Pokémon’s side, but it was obvious even without Drone Rotom saying so that Clefairy couldn’t continue. “You did a wonderful job, Clefairy.” Recalling her Pokémon, she rose, pushed her bangs out of her eyes, and called her second Pokémon.
“Mimey, I choose you!”
Ash clenched his fists. No more surprises – he knew what Mimey was capable of. Oshawott was tough, but he’d taken a lot of damage. If the Sea Otter Pokémon only had one move left, then Ash had to make it count.
“Oshawott! Hit Mimey with Aqua Jet!”
“Mimey, dodge it!” Delia cried out.
The Barrier Pokémon leapt high in the air, leaving Ash to watch, powerless, as Aqua Jet splashed harmlessly on the ground between his mother and Jessie. But before he could call out another attack –
“Now, Mimey, Focus Punch on Oshawott!”
There was no time for Oshawott to get out of the way. Mimey dove straight down, fist outstretched, and scored a direct hit. Both Pokémon vanished underwater. All four trainers held their breath. After a few seconds, Mimey burst out of the water, effortlessly leaping onto the rock. A moment later Oshawott floated to the surface, fainted.
“Good work, Oshawott,” Ash murmured as he recalled his Pokémon. He turned to Pikachu. “Looks like my mom’s a tougher trainer than I thought. You ready, Pikachu?”
The yellow mouse nodded, one tiny fist raised. “Pika!”
“You be nice to us now, Pikachu!” Delia cheered brightly.
Jessie was less optimistic.
“Babe, this isn’t looking good,” she murmured urgently. “I’ve been beaten by that Pikachu a zillion times! And that Gyarados looks strong. And mean! I don’t know if…”
She trailed off as the other woman took her hands.
“Now you listen to me, Jessie Ketchum.” Delia gazed into her eyes, a look of fierce determination on her face. “A zillion battles. A zillion losses. Against that very Pikachu. And you never gave up. So you’re not gonna give up now! Okay?”
Jessie stared back at her. Time seemed to stand still. Delia’s fingers were warm on her own as her words of encouragement hung in the air.
“Jessie… Ketchum?”
With the briefest of nods, Delia turned to face their opponents.
“Ash honey, don’t you hold back just because I’m your mom!” she called. “We’re going to give it our all, even if we lose!”
“She’s a lot like you, Ash,” Misty laughed. As Ash tugged the brim of his hat down to hide his blush, she raised her voice and called to the challengers. “You’re doing great, Ms. Ketchum! I’m really impressed by your abilities as a trainer. Now show me you’re worthy of the Cascade badge!”
“Hey!” Jessie yelled indignantly. “What am I, chopped liver?! My Venomoth pushed your Corsola to the brink!”
Misty grimaced. This was all still too strange – Jessie was a good guy? Jessie and Ash’s mom were… partners? She struggled for something positive to say about Jessie’s performance so far.
“Uh – yeah!” she managed. “It was, uh, really great how you figured out that one move.”
Jessie put her hands on her hips. “Ugh, could you sound any more insincere?!”
With a growl of impatience, Ash cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled across the battlefield. “Hey! Are we gonna battle or what?”
“Oh, we’re battling, twerp,” Jessie shot back. “And we’re gonna win!”
Ash grinned. “You ready, Pikachu?” The yellow Pokémon turned to look at his trainer. Ash pointed. “Quick attack!”
“Ha!” Jessie scoffed as Pikachu zigzagged along the rock ridge. “Wobbuffet, use Counter!”
Pikachu leaped forward…
“On Mimey!”
Delia and Jessie gasped as Pikachu pivoted and went straight for the Barrier Pokémon. Taken by surprise, he took the full brunt of the attack, losing his balance and hitting the water.
“A fake out!” Delia exclaimed. She beamed at her son with pride. “That was so smart of you, honey! You had us completely fooled!”
“Baaabe!” Jessie hissed. “I get that you care about him – I do too – but right now he’s the enemy!”
Delia tapped her fist against her head, grinning nervously. “Oh, right!”
“This is hurting my brain,” Misty groaned.
“How do you think I feel?” Ash grumbled.
Delia took a moment to centre herself and assess the situation. Pikachu didn’t have a Type advantage, but his Electric attacks were powerful – not to mention that Mimey was still wet. Of course, using them ran the risk of electrifying the entire battlefield, including Gyarados, but only one Pokémon needed to be left standing in order for that Pokémon’s team to win.
“Mimey!” she commanded. “Use Psychic on Pikachu!”
“Mr Mime!”
Mimey fixed Pikachu with an intense stare, his eyes and hands glowing blue. Blue light enveloped the yellow mouse as he was lifted into the air. Pikachu strained and struggled, but couldn’t break free.
Ash groaned in exasperation.
“Misty, go for Mimey!” he called. “If you weaken him, maybe Pikachu can break free. Plus, he’s a lot stronger than Wobbuffet!”
Misty nodded. “Right!”
“Hey!” Jessie objected. “Just because it’s true doesn’t mean you have to say it!” She shook her fist at them. “I raised you better than that, Ash Ketchum!”
“Wha – ” Ash took a step back, flabbergasted. “You didn’t raise me at all!”
“The heck I didn’t!” Jessie retorted. “Who kept an eye on you while you twerped your way through eight regions, huh?!”
Misty rubbed her temples. The whole situation was giving her a headache.
“Gyarados!”
The Atrocious Pokémon stirred itself and looked her way.
“Use Crunch on Mr. Mime, now!”
“Oh no, not Crunch!” Delia fretted, as Gyarados reared back, a sinister purple aura swirling around its fangs. “That’s a Dark-Type move!”
“Wobbuffet!” Jessie barked. “Get between Mimey and Gyarados and use Counter!”
Saluting, Wobbuffet leaped in front of Mimey, his body outlined in orange light. Crunch hit, hard, and bounced back twice as hard. Both Gyarados and Wobbuffet recoiled from the damage.
“Wobbles!” Delia cried out, as Mimey caught Wobbuffet in his arms.
“Don’t you quit on me now, Wobbuffet!” Jessie shouted.
Wobbuffet saluted weakly as Mimey pushed him back onto his paws. The distraction worked, and Pikachu dropped back to the rock, freed from Psychic.
“Keep the pressure on, Pikachu!” Ash yelled. “Use Iron Tail on Mimey, now!”
“Quick, Mimey!” Delia shouted as Pikachu somersaulted through the air, tail glowing white. “Use Reflect!”
Pikachu hit the invisible barrier and flew backwards, landing in the water.
“Gyarados!” Misty commanded. “Use Crunch again!”
“Mimey, keep using Reflect!” Delia shouted. “Don’t let them in!” She had to think. Poor Wobbles, he didn’t have much left – one more shot from that big Gyarados and that would be it. Not to mention that if Crunch hit Mimey, the battle would be over! She’d completely forgotten Gyarados could learn that move! Oh, maybe she should’ve used Zaggy instead…
Mimey obediently continued to use Reflect as Gyarados and Pikachu attacked from either side. Slowly the invisible barriers began to box them in, till Mimey and Wobbuffet were crowded together on the rock.
“Babe!” Jessie urged. “We have to do something or we’re gonna lose!”
“I know!” Delia groaned. “I just…” She cupped her face in her hands, pulling down on her cheeks. “…I don’t know!”
“Ms Ketchum!”
Delia lifted her head.
“You can’t let us back you into a corner!” Misty called. “Use your environment to find a way out!”
Ash shot her a glare. “Hey, whose side are you on?!”
“It’s my job as a Gym leader to help trainers to learn,” Misty explained with a smile. “Did you forget?”
“You didn’t help me when I battled you for the first time!” Ash replied indignantly, poking his thumb into his chest.
Misty glowered at him.
“That’s because you still owed me a new bike, Ash Ketchum!”
“Aaagh!” Ash placed both hands on his head, tugging his hat down. “Can’t you let that go already? It got repaired, didn’t it?”
While their opponents bickered, Delia had taken Misty’s words to heart.
“Use the environment…” she mused. There was only one place Mimey and Wobbles could go – but first they had to do something about the double attacks coming their way.
“Jessie!” she hissed, beckoning her partner to come closer. “Can you have Wobbles use Counter?”
Jessie looked at Wobbuffet, sweating nervously as he stood behind Mimey. She nodded.
“Okay,” Delia replied. She whispered quickly in the other woman’s ear. Jessie grinned, then straightened up.
“Wobbuffet! Use Counter on both those attacks!”
Without any hesitation, Wobbuffet moved in front of Mimey, body once more enveloped in an orange glow. Crunch and Iron Tail came back double on Gyarados and Pikachu, sending the two flying backwards. Both Pokémon landed hard on the rock, Gyarados almost wrapping around it with the force of the blow.
“On your feet, Pikachu!” Ash called. “It’s not over yet! …Huh?”
He blinked at the empty battlefield. Mimey and Wobbuffet had both disappeared. Ash tensed as he scoured the water for any sign of the enemy Pokémon, but the surface was still settling from the last bout of attacks. The sunlight streaming through the roof didn’t help either – it made the rippling water glitter.
Misty spotted movement a second too late.
“Look out-”
In tandem, Mimey and Wobbuffet burst through the surface, taking up positions either side of Gyarados and Pikachu, trapping their opponents between them.
“Good work, you two!” Delia cheered. She pointed dramatically. “Now, Mimey – use Psychic on both of them!”
Once more, Mimey’s eyes and hands glowed. Both Gyarados and Pikachu rose into the air, enveloped in blue light.
“Great strategy, Ms. Ketchum!” Misty called, earning a dirty look from Ash which she ignored. “There’s no point going for Wobbuffet – he’ll just Counter our attacks again.”
“Right,” Ash agreed. “We’ve gotta take out Mimey!” He raised his voice. “Pikachu!”
Misty did likewise. “Gyarados!”
Delia grinned. “Just as I thought.” She looked at her partner. “Get ready with Mirror Coat!”
Jessie blinked in confusion. “…Huh?”
“Thunderbolt –”
“Hydro Pump –”
“On Mimey!” both young trainers yelled in unison.
“Mimey!” Delia called, just as both Pokémon charged their attacks. “Drop them, use Light Screen and aim at Wobbles!”
“Aim at WHO?!” Jessie exclaimed.
There was no time to explain. Everything turned on a split second. Pikachu and Gyarados began to fall through the air. Several volts of electricity and a powerful torrent of water hit Mimey’s Light Screen and barrelled towards Wobbuffet.
The diabolical beauty of Delia’s devious plan suddenly caught up with Jessie. That pair of pathetic Pokémon were in for a –
“Now, honey!”
Jessie almost fumbled the command.
“M-Mirror Coat!”
Wobbuffet glowed, shrouded in a reflective aura. Everything seemed to slow down. The attacks hit. They bounced back at Mimey. Pikachu and Gyarados fell. Ash’s mouth opened in a silent noooo.
The timing was perfect.
Gyarados and Pikachu fell in front of Mimey, taking the full brunt of Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump, doubled by Mirror Coat. The sheer force of the attacks drove them along the surface of the water, causing huge plumes of water to rise into the air either side of them. The battlefield disappeared in a shroud of surf and spray.
“Pikachu!” Ash cried out.
All four trainers held their breath as the mist began to clear.
Jessie cried out in dismay on seeing Wobbuffet floating belly-up in the water. Ash groaned on spotting Pikachu doing likewise. Draped over the rock, Gyarados lifted its head weakly, then dropped it again.
Delia scanned the water, a smile spreading across her face as Mimey swam to the rock and clambered up, standing tall with a cry of, “Mr. Mime!”
“Wobbuffet, Pikachu, and Gyarados are unable to battle,” the Drone Rotom declared, as Ash sank to his knees. “The winners are the challengers, Delia and Jessie!”
“I… I can’t believe this…” Ash moaned.
“We…” Jessie couldn’t stop staring at the battlefield, Drone Rotom’s words ringing in her ears. “…we won?” She looked to Delia, and the joyful look on her face confirmed it. “We WON!!!”
Delia shrieked as Jessie caught hold of her and lifted her high in the air, doing a twirl before setting her back on her feet and peppering her face with kisses. “Hahahaha!” She turned to their opponents, pulling down on one eyelid while sticking her tongue out. “Suck it, twe – I mean, Ash and Misty! I knew this day would come sooner or later!”
“Jessica, I know you’re happy, but don’t be a bad winner,” Delia chided gently. “Magnanimity in victory goes a long way.”
“But baaaabe!” Jessie whined. “I’ve never had a victory this magnificent before!”
Delia just smiled and gave her a peck on the lips. “I think poor Wobbles wants you,” she remarked, nodding to the battlefield. “We’ll need to get him to a Pokémon Centre with Venomoth and Clefairy.”
Jessie nodded and went to haul Wobbuffet out of the water.
“Come on, you,” she grunted as she dragged the Patient Pokémon back onto dry land. Briefly she removed her cap and wiped the sweat from her brow. Fine, so she couldn’t taunt the twerps any more. Victory still tasted pretty sweet.
In her arms, Wobbuffet stirred and smiled weakly up at her. Jessie couldn’t help but smile back.
“How about that?” she murmured to him. “You’re a winner, Wobbuffet. I bet you can’t wait to tell the others.”
He managed a salute and a quiet “Wobba…” before Jessie recalled him to his Pokéball.
Ash, meanwhile, remained on his knees in the trainer box. “I can’t believe we lost to my mom.”
“You gotta admit, that last strategy was a thing of beauty,” Misty replied with a smile. She’d made her way out to the rock and was cradling Gyarados’s head, absently rubbing its crest. The big Pokémon opened its eyes and let out a quiet rumble. “I guess now we know where you get your battling skills from, champ!”
Stepping out of her sneakers, Delia carefully negotiated the slippery rock and fished Pikachu out of the water. A couple of vigorous rubs from his head to his tail, and the Electric Mouse Pokémon opened his eyes.
“You were great, Pikachu,” Delia murmured. She tickled him under his chin, getting a weak “Chaaa” in response. She made her way back to the side of the battlefield to find Ash, Misty and Jessie waiting. “You were great too, honey.”
Ash managed a smile as she handed Pikachu to him. “Thanks, Mom.” He gasped as he was pulled into a hug.
“That was such a fun battle!” Delia exclaimed. She loosened her hold just enough to look at him. “I can see why you like this so much.”
“Watch out, Ash,” Misty teased. “You might just have a new rival on your hands!”
Ash let out a distressed yelp.
“Oh no, I don’t have time for that,” Delia assured him with a wave of her hand. As Ash sighed with relief, she cupped his cheek and tilted his head up to look at him. “But travelling around this past month and battling with you today… it’s made me feel a little bit closer to you.”
Ash blushed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Aw, Mom,” he mumbled with a grin.
“Ahem.”
Ash and Delia turned to see Misty holding out a Cascade badge.
“This is yours, Ms. Ketchum,” the Gym Leader declared. “You made the battlefield, your Pokémon and their moves work to your advantage. I’m impressed!”
“Oh, you’re too kind, really,” Delia replied, blushing as she accepted the badge. Its blue surface seemed to glitter in the sunlight streaming in from the roof. “I’ll treasure this, always. Thank you.”
“That’s how you win a badge fair and square,” Misty teased, shooting a wink Ash’s way.
The Champion rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.”
“Aren’t you forgetting something?”
All three turned to see Jessie holding out her hand.
“What about me?” she demanded. “The perfect Pokémon battle partner? Trainer of vicious Venomoth and wild Wobbuffet? Where’s my badge?”
Misty sighed. Jessie had been on the winning team, and she had won a badge fair and square, but the whole situation was still bizarre.
“I’ll give you a badge if you explain what all…” She waved her hand between Jessie and Delia. “…this is about.”
“Delia and I dating,” Jessie scoffed with a shrug. “It’s not that complicated.”
“I got that part,” Misty shot back irritatedly, “I just…” She looked from Jessie, standing with her arms crossed, to Ms. Ketchum, who had one hand on Jessie’s hip, to Ash, who looked like he was hoping the floor would open up and swallow him. “…you know what, never mind.” Reaching into her pocket, she took out a second Cascade badge.
“I can’t believe this is happening, but… you earned this!”
Jessie let out a little cry of joy as Misty put the badge into her hand.
“Oh, Deerling, look how pretty it is!” she gushed. “Do you think maybe we could just get the prettiest Gym badges?”
“I don’t see why not,” Delia replied. “With James to run the restaurant, I can take vacations more often!”
“James is –” Misty glared at Ash, who pulled the brim of his cap down and giggled nervously. “We’re going to the Pokémon Centre and then you’re telling me what’s been going on, Ash Ketchum!”
“Let’s all go to the Pokémon Centre,” Delia suggested. “Our Pokémon battled hard today, they deserve a good rest.”
It wasn’t long before Nurse Joy’s tender care had Venomoth, Corsola, Oshawott, Clefairy, Wobbuffet, Gyarados and Pikachu feeling like their old selves again. Delia squeezed Jessie’s hand, murmuring “that’ll be you one day, Smoochum” as they watched Joy work.
“Well, we should get going,” Delia declared once they had their Pokémon back.
“We were going to stay and have dinner, Ms. Ketchum,” Misty said. She eyed Jessie reluctantly, but made the offer anyway. “…You’re welcome to join us.”
“That’s sweet of you, Misty, but we’ve been away long enough,” Delia replied, to both kids’ relief. “It’s time we headed home. Thank you both so much for such an amazing battle.” She hugged Ash tightly. “Don’t stay away too long, honey.”
“You know I won’t, Mom,” Ash replied, blushing. He shot Misty a grin. “I’ll be home right after I kick Misty’s butt in our rematch!”
“Then I’ll see you soon,” Delia murmured. She let go of her son and gave Misty a quick hug and a wink. “Try not to beat him too badly!”
“Hey!” Ash exclaimed indignantly.
Delia stepped back, joining her girlfriend near the door of the Pokémon Centre. She gave her a look and nodded to both kids. With a sigh, Jessie trudged up to Ash and gave him a stiff hug.
“See you at home, kid,” she mumbled. Letting go, she turned to Misty. “Thanks for the battle and the badge, I guess...?”
The two gazed at each other for a few awkward moments, then Jessie took a step closer, slowly lifting her arms.
“Aah!” Misty hurriedly moved back, holding her hands up in front of her. “I don’t think I’m there yet.”
Jessie dropped her arms with a huge sigh of relief. “Great! Me neither.” She offered her hand instead, and the Gym Leader shook it.
Ash and Misty stepped outside the Pokémon Centre to see them off, their goodbyes ringing in the air as Delia and Jessie got on the road. Jessie slung her arm around her girlfriend’s shoulder.
“Happy, babe?”
“Yes and no,” Delia sighed. “I’m sad my journey’s over, but I couldn’t be happier about how it went. I made three wonderful new friends, foiled a nasty poacher, and that battle today –” She clenched her fists in front of her. “ – I never felt so alive! I can’t wait to tell Professor Oak and James and Meowth all about it!” She slipped an arm around Jessie’s waist. “I’m so glad you talked me into this.”
Jessie preened. “Oh it was nothing, babe, I –”
She broke off as Delia took hold of her hands.
“Thank you for making my dreams come true,” the other woman whispered. Jessie’s heart caught in her throat as she saw tears shining in Delia’s eyes. “Not just today, but every day we’re together.”
Jessie smiled, warmth blooming in her chest.
“It’s the least I could do,” she replied. Delia deserved more, so much more, for putting up with her, believing in her, loving her. Not to mention all she’d done for James and Meowth too. Maybe one day –
- but before Jessie could continue the thought, Delia leaned up and pulled her into a tender kiss.
THE END
“Oh, I can’t wait to get home to our nice comfy bed!”
“Ugh, me too. I hate sleeping on the ground.”
“…who said anything about sleeping?”

Pokemon x UTDR Fakemon Designs (Pt 1)
Welcome to this toxic and fake region called Undertale/Deltarune´s Community! In this vast world you can find many species based on your favorite AUs and creators. Come in and enjoy your stay here in this polemic land.
Choose your starter! You can start your adventure by choosing one of this 3 little critters:
Tumblr media
Charseed, the weed pokemon (Based on Charkis from Chapter Rewritten)
Embora, the legacy pokemon (Based on Ceroba from Undertale Yellow)
Tadskull, the hero pokemon (Based on Crossbones from TS!Underswap)
Each one of this lovely starters will have their own evolution lines but you´ll have to be patient to find out in what they´ll turn into in the future.
Tumblr media
In this interesting land lives an interesting species know as Crookcrow, the crow Pokémon, this small and yet not very good looking bird lives from stealing other Pokémon's foods, gaining the nickname of "The big bad rook". When it evolves it turns into Ozyrook, the villain Pokémon, this prideful bird commands small crowds of Crookcrows to bring food for him.  This big rook when it´s used for combat it can have one of this two unique abilities:
Ozymandias: When its HP drops down half percent, Ozyrook will rise its attack two stages but its defense and special defense will drop two stages down.
Castling: When its HP drops down half percent, Ozyrook will switch out itself for the pokemon next to it in the party. After this, the pokemon that was switched in will receive a power boost by one on its speed stat.
If you use this Pokémon you are in for a strategic game to not loose him in battle and use the most out of him.
Tumblr media
Finally we would like to introduce a new form of Rotom, Rotom Cathode! This forms occurs when a Rotom inhabits a CRT TV for too long.  This form has a new and unique move tied to it: "Laugh Track" it has the chance to confuse the enemy and boost it´s speed state if the move hits the rival. Hope you enjoyed this little art concept I had. If it gets enough support it will make a part 2 in no time!

Bzzt! It's me, Rotom again! Here's your battle footage!
[A Video File is attached to the post - press play?]
[Video ID - a clip from Iono's livestreamed battle against Arven.
Clodsire took out Wattrel with ease with mud shot, and got a good hit on Bellibolt with poison tail. However, once he got thrown back with water gun, Arven had immediately called the Clodsire back with a slightly nervous expression, despite the fact that Clodsire still had a decent amount of fight in him.
Next came out Foongus, who quickly took Bellibolt down as well as the following Luxio with Giga Drain.
"Ohh, you came prepared, didn't you?" Said Iono in an excited tone, "That Foongus is LEAGUES above this gym!"
"Of course," said Arven, crossing his arms, "I intend to win, after all."
Iono squealed excitedly. "I am LOVING the confidence," she said, "And your dark and brooding trope is JUST the contrast this stream could use more of~!"
"And you're mysterious, too!" Iono continued, "It seems like you've got some connections~"
Arven's one visible eye widened. "... What?"
"I was scrolling through chat before today's big stream," explained Iono, "And it seemed like we had a special GUEST STAR appearance!"
On one of the nearby screens, there was a screenshot of Iono's livestream chat - mostly blurred out except for one specific message, sent by a one 'professor-turo', that read:
Good luck , Arven .
Arven brought a hand to his face and shook his head. "Oh my fucking arc..." he mumbled, with the curse word being censored with a comedic sound effect.
"Now WHAT is THAT about?" asked Iono, "I just GOTTA know! You got the famed PROFESSOR of PALDEA to comment! I didn't even know he watched my livestreams!!"
"That's..." Arven sighed. "That's my dad," he grumbled out.
"Say WHAAAAAAT?" Iono donned an exaggeratedly shocked expression. "If I knew who I was battling I would have set up a SPECIAL stream for you!"
"It's really not a big deal-"
"Heyyy, don't be so embarrassed!" said Iono, "We stan a man who supports his son, here in the IONO ZONE! So tell me - what's it like having a bigshot Professor for a dad? Talk about family pride, right?"
"It's... Special," Arven answered through gritted teeth, "Really, freaking special."
He took a quick breath, before bringing out his tera orb, his tone as bold as his stance.
"So why don't we cut the chatter so I can show him what I'm made of?!"
"Now THAT'S what I LIKE to hear!!!" Iono cheered as she brought out her own tera orb. "Come foooorth SHINY LIGHTBULB!!!"
Both Pokemon terastalized, making for an exciting finale full of green and yellow lights thanks to thew tera crystals formed around the Foongus and Mismagius. In the end, Arven won the battle. His Foongus hopped over to him, happily babbling about the win.
Arven smiled as he knelt down and patted the Foongus. "You did amazing out there," he said, "Can't imagine anybody taking their eyes off of you!"

“Ready?”
From across the field, Slater holds a Pokeball close to his chest. Steadying his cold breaths, he flashes a nervous smile to his partner- who now serves as his opponent, his teacher in the art of battle.
“Please be nice.”
“Don’t worry,”
His glasses shone under the summer sun, a hint of mischief in his tone.
He knew Slater would get upset if he held back- and Slater, as much of a liar as he was, would poorly hide how a loss affected him, with flushed cheeks and a thinly-veiled lie.
Regardless of how this battle would end, Descante would get what he wanted- but, realistically, he felt that the battle would go in his favor.
“I’m very nice.”
“Scary.”
[ Battle! Vs. Slater ]
They sent out a pair of mirror images- Descante’s Tornadus against Slater’s own.
Through the mighty roars of the beasts and the howling beasts, it’s unknown to any spectator whose voice resounds.
“Knock off!”
“U-Turn!”
The same two commands are repeated twice for each trainer; and as soon as they appear, the soon they pivot out of the field.
Taking his Tornadus’ place, Slater’s Rotom whirls out of its Pokeball and into the battle, leaving a trail of static and droplets of water.
“Washy! Hydro Pump!”
A swirl of sand forms around Descante as he calls out his next Pokemon.
“Hippowdon! Stealth Rock!”
After one Hydro Pump follows another in quick succession- and Descante’s Hippowdon is out of commission.
He flicks his glasses, adjusting them to his face. “Wait- how do I,” He holds onto his headphones, still clinging on the side of his head. “How do I deal with Rotom-?”
“I don’t know!” Slater cries in a panic, holding his cardigan around himself in the midst of a sandstorm. “You picked this team for me!”
“Oh, I did,”
He grabs onto the next Pokeball in his belt, sending out his Stoutland, undeterred by the weather conditions.
“Washy, come back!”
“Stoutland, Return!”
“Bunny, go-!”
She doesn’t get a chance to Mega Evolve, either. Mimicking her trainer’s panic, Bunny is caught off guard as Stoutland rams into her, sending her flying and crashing against the walls.
Stoutland shakes its head from the impact, a silly little smile plastered on his face as the other Pokemon is recalled.
Descante is barely able to hold back an amused smirk. It was adorable to see both Slater and his Lopunny flustered. “Well, Doggy fell in love it seems. I would have too.”
“That’s not funny!” Slater squeaked out, cheeks flushed red as he sent Tornadus to the field. “I panicked!”
“You did. And it seems you’re still quite nervous,”
Stoutland shakes off whatever lingering thoughts it had about Slater’s Lopunny, ramming into the legendary without much of an effort. Amusingly, it’s blown into the spot just next to where Bunny left a dent- this time leaving a hole.
“Lesson number one, angel- always keep your cool.”
Holding the side of his face with one hand and a Pokeball in the other, Slater murmured. “Easy for you to say. All this, and you still have time to be cool- mentally and physically."
“You flatter me.”
In his flustered state, he sends out a Pokemon befitting the situation.
Magearna twirls into the field as the sandstorm subsides, its rabbit-like ears clicking like the antennae of a bug-Pokemon. Perhaps it was trying to calm its trainer.
“Stoutland, go.”
“Let’s, um,” Slater pats his own face, trying to steady himself. “Okay, let’s see where my luck takes me now. Um, Focus Blast-!”
It withstands the attack, pointed feed skidding through the soil and leaving a trail on the grass.
Before Stoutland can retreat to its position, the cannon in front of its face fully charges- and Stoutland is blown away, just as it had with Slater’s other two Pokemon.
This does little to deter Descante- his angel, thankfully, was lucky. The last thing he wanted was a one-sided beatdown.
“Good, good,” He takes another Pokeball. “I suppose you can make up for inexperience with faith.”
“It’s all I have, you know.”
Tornadus is once again sent out on the field.
“Heat Wave!”
In a show of irony, Descante’s attack misses.
In the split second he was utterly dumbfounded by the comedic timing of it all, Slater pointed his finger at the Tornadus. “Dolly, Ice Beam!”
A thin laser of ice blows through the field, striking the heart of Tornadus.
He sees Slater smiling a little behind his sleeve-clad hand.
“..faith, huh?”
“That-” He adjusts his glasses again, trying to hide his own embarrassed expression with his hair. “That was a cruel joke.”
“Now that’s funny.”
A Beast Ball is sent out next- he had gotten Slater “acquainted” with the Ultra Beasts much earlier on, so as to not completely overwhelm him with their presence in their battle.
But perhaps, that was a mistake on Descante's part as well.
“Earthquake!”
He had expected the piercing rocks to instantly one-shot the automaton- but, holding onto a single glimmer of hope, Magearna persisted, its cannon ready once more.
“Volt Switch!”
With that, Slater takes down three of Descante’s Pokemon in a row- at the cost of Soul-Heart being reset.
Slater’s own Hippowdon emerges, setting up the Sandstorm once more.
“Remain focused,”
Was it to himself, or to Slater? It didn’t matter.
“I can still win.”
Toxapex takes the stage, a little creature many in Descante’s college were fond of, despite its cruelty to Corsola.
“Stealth Rock!”
Predictable!
“Toxic! Then Scald!”
Toxapex hurls a purple pile of sludge at Hippowdon, immediately followed by a burst of boiling water.
“Whirlwind!”
Finally, Descante’s last Pokemon was forcefully sent to the field.
Another angel just like the one standing across the field, Nihilego.
Descante raises an eyebrow.
“Sludge Wave.”
Resisted, as expected. But with the buildup of Toxic, and another Sludge Wave, Hippowdon would be no more- and both Nihilego and Toxapex could make do with the rest of Slater’s party.
That was the plan.
Until-
“Earthquake!”
Wait!
And unlike Slater’s Magearna, Nihilego faints in an instance, its body nearly shattering into a thousand pieces of glass.
Droplets of venom splatter on the field, nearly brushing against Descante’s cheek.
Wide-eyed and mouth agape, Descante could not help but raise his voice in wonder at the sight of Slater, who seemed to have realized something.
Victory was in his grasp.
“Your Hippowdon-” He sputters. “It runs Earthquake?”
“Um, yes-”
“Why?!”
“It-” Slater waves his hands around. “Um, I had a battle before, it was against a Clefable- long story short, she didn’t have any attacking moves and all Clefable did was stall, so-”
In the midst of his amazement, Toxapex returns to the field, his last Pokemon standing.
“Baneful Bunker.”
The next Earthquake that Slater hastily commands doesn’t hit.
He knew he was going to repeat that action- and by that next turn, Hippowdon would succumb to the effects of Toxic.
Still, he had three remaining, one of which was-
“Earthquake, your last one!"
“Recover!”
Hippowdon’s last hurrah barely left an impact. His Rotom once again appears, but just as Descante plans his next move-
“Volt Switch!”
“Toxic!”
“Dolly!”
Steel was immune to Toxic- but Magearna faints upon arrival, courtesy of the rocks Descante had set up earlier. Toxapex’s attack fails, and it whines over the feeling of leftover static dancing around its body.
Rotom appears once more, and after two turns of Baneful Bunker, another Volt Switch lands, to be followed by a Recover.
When Slater sends his last Pokemon, Descante couldn’t help but stare.
Big eyed and sweet like a tart apple, with two small wings fluttering on its back- Victini looked just like Slater as much as Lopunny and Magearna had; but Descante supposed that should have been obvious, given that he had themed Slater’s current party over Pokemon he would love.
And Pokemon that resembled him, but neither Slater nor NEO PRO needed to know that.
“Baneful Bun-”
The shimmering crystal in Victini’s hands glows, floating out of its hand and shining a heavenly light down upon it and its trainer.
The Z-Ring Slater had borrowed started to glow in tandem with the crystal, and, with a flustered expression, he strikes a pose.
“Z-Celebrate!”
Oh no.
The wrath of two angels descends upon him and his Toxapex as Slater’s finger, directed at the both of them, points downwards.
“Stored Power!”
Laying on the grass, covered in a mix of poison and sand, Slater fusses over Descante with an apologetic expression.
“I, ah-”
“You didn’t tell me.”
“I’m sorry, I had Hippowdon’s moveset changed a while back, please don’t be mad-”
“Angel, you didn’t tell me how much you improved!”
He’s caught off guard when Descante suddenly stands up, lifting him off the grass and twirling him around in an uncharacteristic public display of affection.
“Oof, Descante-”
“You were training so hard all this time-”
Admittedly, he would have thrown the match if he was overwhelming Slater, but-
“-and it really paid off. I’m so proud of you.”
The other’s eyes lit up. “..you are?”
“Absolutely. I- you’re really good, you should train with me, and-”
He was cut off by the beeping of Slater’s Xtransceiver- a notification to remind him to prepare dinner.
“..let’s do that tomorrow,” Descante cuts himself off with a smile, rare and fond; something he reserved only for Slater. “How about we go out for dinner tonight? As a treat for you.”
Slater’s ears perked up at the sound of a reward.
“We can, ah,”
Slater immediately thinks of his options, barely able to conceal his excitement.
“Take the subway to Black City. A little further down there, we can eat at that seafood place in Undella I keep telling you about, if it’s okay?”
From behind him, the only Pokemon that wasn’t a rental, Bunny, chirps in agreement. Her fur slightly tousled, body still vibrating with the adrenaline from earlier-  she was exactly like Slater in every way.
Though Slater was the one getting rewarded, Descante found a prize of his own in that pleasant smile.
Anything for his angel- as long as he was happy, Descante was happy too, whether he won or loss didn't matter.
“Sounds good.”

[A video is embedded. Link and Zelda are walking along the streets of Veilstone, likely to clear their minds. Epona trots alongside them, and Celebi snuggles into Zelda's hood.]
"Look! Now I have video evidence that I am doing just fine."
[Link, Celebi, and Epona all give her a very unimpressed and completely unconvinced look.]
"Well, that aside, I thought it would be fun if we took a video of ourselves properly exploring the city. And me hopefully gaining at least a little more information out of Satori, afterwards."
[As they turn a corner, they notice a zebra-like Pokémon, except mostly black-furred with white stripes, wandering around at the end of the street.]
"Oh, Goddess, that's an adorable Pokémon! That one over there!"
[Rotom snickers, typing on the screen:
"She says that about every Pokémon, bzrt. Blitzle are native to Unova, though...?"]
[Zelda freezes abruptly. Rotom beeps in confusion, and redirects the camera to a tall, red-haired woman, clad in colorful, light clothing accentuated with gold, following the Blitzle. Certainly, the woman's rather bare outfit looks quite out of place, considering how cold Sinnoh is, but that doesn't really explain why Zelda just stopped short.]
[Link is frozen in place as well.]
[Zelda's mouth moves, seemingly to form a word, but all that comes out is a choked breath.]
[And then she breaks into a full sprint, shouting one word, one name.]
"URBOSA!"
[The woman turns with a startled look.] "Zelda...?"
[Zelda stops in front of the woman, panting, staring up desperately into the woman's eyes. Eyes that are the same emerald green as hers.]
"Zelda, are you--"
"Is it really you?" [Zelda gasps.] "Am I dreaming? Are you-- Do you know--"
"Little bird." [Zelda's breath hitches, and the woman places a hand on her shoulder.] "It is me. You are not dreaming. Are you alright?"
[Link has been standing by Zelda with wide eyes, and the poor Blitzle is looking on with deep confusion.]
"You... you're..." [Celebi chirps, nuzzling against Zelda, and Epona whines.] "You're real."
[She would probably swear that she throws her arms around Urbosa just to test her "theory." That is what Zelda would call it. Just a scientific theory.]
"Oh, little bird..."
[Link doesn't even look dumbfounded anymore, but his melancholy could be mistaken for blankness.]
[Zelda does pull away eventually, sniffling and rubbing at her eyes.]
"I don't know, Rotom, post the video if you want. Urbosa, I promise I can explain, and also the... haircut..."
"Personally, I think that you pull off short hair quite fabulously." [Urbosa chuckles, and Zelda smiles weakly.] "As with you, Link. Long hair suits you."
[Link looks very pleased with himself.]
"I missed you. So much."
[Rotom decides to end the video here with a concerned buzz.
"Yikes! Wonder what happened with them..."]

EarthSpark Pokemon Teams: The Terrans
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All was made from Pokecharms Trainer Card Maker and photos from TFwiki
This was fun to make and took longer than I hoped, but I hope you like the results.
Since this is only the end of Season 1, their Pokémon, minus their Ace, is at their first stage. For the Pokémon that have multiple different evolutions, I'll explain what they would evolve into.
I know it might be a bit early to give them all full times, but I got impatient, and I think we got a pretty good idea of their personalities to make these good ideas.(Once more episodes come out, I might edit their teams)
I already explained why I chose their staters these pokemons, here. As for why I chose these teams, this is gonna be long, so be prepared.
For Twitch, I gave her Starly and Zubat because I thought these were good Flying-Types for her, I think Staraptor would be a good flying type for her and I wanted to give her a regional bird like Dot and Robbie, and I think Crobat's wings sort of reminded me of her's. I thought Scyther/Scizor worked for her as well, I hesitated since Bumblebee has one, but then I figured she could get one in honor of him since he is their mentor. Hawlucha is a Fighting/Flying-Type and I wanted her to have one Fighting-Type. As for Charcadet, I gave her one because I feel she and Megatron have a connection and Twitch is blossoming into a leader, so I figured she would have one, but her's would evolve into Armarouge to counter Megatron's Ceruledge.
For Thrash, I orginally had Tyrogue as his starter, but changed it to Cyclizar, but I still wanted him to have one, which I imagine would evolve into Hitmontop. I also gave him Toxel because I believe Amped Form Toxtricity would be great for him. I gave him Varoom because it sort of reminds me of him and Aipom because I think its energetic nature would match his pretty well, and Tauros to counter Mo's Skiddo and I also think it's just another Pokémon Thrash should have.
For Hashtag, along with Rotom, I feel like Helioptile and Magnemite go well with her Wi-Fi abilities, and I imagine her being into Electric-Types. Also, she shows interest in media and has copied her shows and done accents, so I figured Chatot and Ditto would go with that since Chatot mimics speak kind of like she does and Ditto can literally turn into other Pokémon, and I didn't really feel Zorua matched her enough. I also gave her Mime Jr. because I felt she would like this little Pokémon since it is cute and silly like some of the videos she watches.
For Jawbreaker, I wanted to focus on cuter Pokémon as well as Pokémon people don't really see as tough, since in the episode where he finally got his alt-mode, he felt like people thought he wasn't tough or fierce enough to fight. I originally had Eevee as his starter, but then decided to change it, but I still wanted him to have one to symbolize him wanting to choose the perfect alt-mode and exploring all possible choices. I gave him Igglybuff and Ridough because they are cute and sweet looking, and Mo even called him sweet. Magikarp is here because its considered useless but evolves into a powerful being, similar to Jawbreaker. Finally, he has a Maschiff because like Jawbreaker, this Pokémon wants to be taken seriously, but people think they're too cute to be fierce.
For Nightshade, they have Porygon and Klink because they seem like good choices for a young scientist like Nightshade, and they have an Abra because its evolution, Alakazam is an intelligent Pokémon I think Nightshade would want. They also have Blipbug because this Pokémon is intelligent and collects information, it evolves into a Psychic-Type, and I wanted them to have a Bug-Type to highlight their friendship with Tarantulas, but I didn't think any of the spider Pokémon worked with Nightshade, so they just have a Bug-Type.

What else can you tell me about Lake? How many pokemon friends does he have?
Lake's first Pokémon that he'd ever encountered is that Suicune that follows him around. But he didn't actually catch it, so he doesn't consider it his Pokémon even if it's basically his best friend at this point lol. He summons it Pokémon ranger style with a capture styler.
Pokémon he did actually catch are... well, they're interesting choices! His first proper catch was a rotom that people were complaining about. He wanted to help out, so he went ahead and caught it, allowing it to possess any appliance it so desires. Usually, it hangs out in frost form (the fridge). He'd nicknamed it Ampere!
He also had a pair of eevee gifted to him, one of which evolved into a Vaporeon and the other a Glaceon. They're twins in his beautiful mind and he loves his weird cat-dogs dearly and occasionally enters them into contests. Their names are Scuba and Powder, respectively.
There was an instance where he got into a scary, out-of-the-blue fight whilst traveling overseas and ran into a Veluza; he managed to catch it and he jokingly calls it "the scary fish" but its actual nickname is Reaper!
A few extras he has would be a sensu-style Oricorio and a Runerigus that he'd accidentally gotten to evolve making his way back to a temporary camp he'd set up. I haven't settled on names for them yet unfortunately :,) but he's got more than a party of six! Oh yeah he also has Chien-Pao who purposely has no nickname that he lovingly calls "icy manifestation of fallen warriors, slaughter of thousands, kitty cat :) ".

On Pokedexes
While the electronic model popularized by Professor Samuel Oak is what comes to mind, in truth, the idea of the Pokedex is much, much older. In fact, the oldest surviving "Pokedex" is one of the eleven volumes of Naturalis Historia, written by Pliny the Elder in 77 AD (estimated). Though his methods were... bizarre, and his research extremely incorrect, the value of his work can not be overstated.
Through varying eras and locations, building off of Pliny the Elder's work, the idea of a Pokemon encyclopedia was an appealing one throughout history. Many, many people tried to make a definitive encyclopedia, but Pokemon simply change too quickly, and can escape too easily, for proper study. The most complete known Pokedex from history was Professor Laventon's Encyclopedic Monster Index of Hisui (estimated circa 1850).
The modern Pokedex, however, came about in 1996 from Professor an idea of the aforementioned Professor Oak. Abandoning the traditional methods of individuals using careful information, Professor Oak's idea was groundbreaking- A series of sophisticated measurement tools in a small, handheld package, connected to a Trainer's Pokeball system, allowing a Trainer to input data with incredible ease. Though this system was not immune to misinformation or mistaken measurements, overall, it became much easier to gain data. Professor Oak then entrusted this original model Pokedex with a Trainer from his hometown named Red, who then became famous for his dismantling of Team Rocket.
(It is known that Professor Oak made two of these original prototype Pokedexes, the fate of the second is unknown- Perhaps he kept it, or gave it to a family member, or simply scrapped it.)
However, this original Pokedex model, known as the model HANDY505, was merely a prototype, and as a result riddled with problems. It only had the space for around 150 species of Pokemon in its memory, which was barely sufficient for only the Kanto region- and for that matter, it had no recording ability for locations or habitats outside of Kanto.
However, Red's collection of Pokemon and filling out of the prototype was more than sufficient proof of concept for Professor Oak to receive more League funding, and he set about improving the Pokedex to a vast degree- The National Pokedex (often argued to be called the International Pokedex) was completed, and the sensor and measurement tools of the Pokedex were refined, even being able to extrapolate probable habitats from captured members of a species.
With the completion of the model HANDY910 used in Sinnoh, however, Professor Oak seemed to have finally been content with the advancement of the Pokedex, and in 2007, he did the one thing that would change the study of Pokemon forever:
He made the Pokedex open-source.
Now many researchers and scientists worldwide can create their own Pokedex. And each version of the Pokedex connects and works with each other, allowing for linking and gathering data on Pokemon in ever greater quantities than before. Whereas in Laventon's research, he had to catch vast quantities of Pokemon himself and study each of them individually, the Open-Source Pokedex Project allowed for scientists and professors worldwide to receive massive amounts of data from individual species just by simply looking into the collected information from the massive amounts of Trainers in the world, crowdsourcing research.
To this day, many variants on the Pokedex are still being created, trying to achieve the most useful and most complete version. Alola has a Rotom inhabit its Pokedex, allowing greater recording of information while the Trainer's hands are freed to focus on the Pokemon itself. Galar managed to compress all of this into a phone application, losing some sophistication in measurement tools in favor of greater convenience. Paldea's takes the form of a "digital bookshelf", where each Trainer's notes are recorded into books and sent to a central location for study. And the rush does not seem to be dying down- Every region, every scientist, seems to want their personal version of the Pokedex to be the best, to finally be the most complete, to know all there is to know about Pokemon.
Studying and learning everything about Pokemon is how we humans express our love for them.

[There is a strange video posted onto this account... would you like to view it?]
[Read warnings within tags attached to post before proceeding...]
[The video starts with Metal laying in a nice green field with its digital eyes closed, as Droid can be heard behind the phone at the end of explaining how the camera app works to Voltage. All of their and Droid’s pokemon can be seen roaming or resting with the both of them, all seems calm and relaxed. Droid moves from behind the camera and walks over to Metal while holding a flower crown while wearing one of his own. A crown is placed on Metal’s head and Droid lays down to rest her head on its shoulder.
Though it doesn't take long for Metal to shoot up, ears perked forward, eyes opened again and narrowed, the sudden movement leading to Droid being startled a bit and sitting up themself.
Before all hell breaks loose with a loud pained squeal from what sounds like a Raichu.
Metal is on its feet, returning its pokemon in very swift movements, before rushing off to find the origin of the noise. Droid is quickly calling their own pokemon back, reaching into her now opened toolbox to do so. The camera gets flung to the ground with a panicked zapping noise, only for it to give a short buzz and start to float again, following Metal. It doesn’t take too long for the source of the noise to be found, Cloudburst, held up by a Shadow Android around the throat, ear cut and bleeding down the poor rat's face.
Metal is a blur, slamming itself into the Shadow Android to make it let go of Cloudburst, flinging the both of them out of frame for a short moment. The camera now focuses on Cloudburst for a short moment and Droid can be seen rushing to his side to handle the injury, though the camera follows Metal a second after.
Once focus is brought back to Metal, the video shows them tearing violently into the other bot, sparks flying and oil spilling everywhere. Its a viciousness that its known for, claws and face covered by the black iridescent substance.
A moment later Droid speeds over to Metal, starting to check over them and saying something, however the words aren’t caught by the mic.
Suddenly, as if it was a planned ambush, more Shadow Androids rushing in from all directions, Metal quickly rushing to tackle and rip apart one of the groups. Droid sends a few chaos spears directly through several of the Androids in another group as blazing kicks hit some closer ones in their faces.
The camera is mainly focused on Metal, you can see its arm melting and reforming in a quick transformation, its hand being replaced by a dark blue blaster with a red trim, looking much like a particular Mecha Sonic’s.
Metal fires in a consistent line, chopping some more on-coming Androids in half… and some trees by accident, which end up crushing a few other Shadow Androids, as more and more keep coming. A couple more glowing spears strike down more of the attackers, and the camera quickly snaps back to Droid with piles of scrap having formed around him.
A sharp CRACK can be heard, the camera whips its focus back onto Metal, their metallic quills crunching up into lightning bolt shapes and a sharp toothed grin on its face plate, not too unlike that of a Rotom Mow, eyes are a purply red color. A scratchy, harsh voice comes from the currently possessed bot, something about a power boost for the boss? Another chaos spear blurs past Metal, through a nearby Shadow Android and landing in another one, causing an amused reaction out of Rotom Metal.
Rotom Metal rushes around, smashing into bot after bot, firing Flash Cannons and letting out Discharges, while Droid easily maneuvers around the destruction being caused by Metal, accurately flinging spears through bots it hasn’t gotten to, throwing kicks to those that get close, and surprising a Shadow Android that tried to attack them from behind with spikes suddenly shooting out of his toolbox.
Once the fight is over, the both of them look rather exhausted, the robots put into a large pile to be disposed of, Rotom Metal stretches, its engine whirring loudly with power fitting of a speedy bot being super charged by a ghost. They turn to Droid, telling them something that could not be heard over the roar of the previously mentioned engine. He nods, pressing a hidden button on her toolbox to make the spikes retract so they can be picked up by Metal.
Metal seems to open a Ultra Wormhole, flying through it as the camera follows.
... The video ends there after a few moments of disturbance due to the energies of the Ultra Wormhole.]

The Warners' Pokémon Teams
Dot's Team :
Tumblr media
Shaymin - Dot's Partner Pokémon; Not only is Shaymin adorable, but Dot's often associated with flowers (her flower bow, she's often put in a flowery field when she's being extra cute, in the bedtime story from Wakko's Wish she came out of a flower, etc). I'm sure she'd love this Pokémon!
Cutiefly - Literally just because "cutie" is in the name lol.
Zorua - It uses illusions to change its form so it can trick its foes and protect itself, sort of like how Dot uses her cuteness.
Tinkaton - Little pink girl + Giant hammer = There is no way Dot WOULDN'T have this one
Glameow - Dot has shown cat-like qualities before (she chose to first act like a cat in the "What Are We?" song, but also her hair kinda resembles cat ears), and seems to like cats in general, if "Fear and Laughter in Burbank" and "23 and WB" are anything to go by. Plus, doesn't Glameow sort of look like Rita?
Araquanid - Dot has pet spiders and a literal monster as a pet so I could see her owning one of these. Also, I'd say Pokémon like Shaymin or Cutiefly represent her cute side, and Araquanid represents Dot's tough side.
Yakko's Team :
Tumblr media
Chatot - Yakko's Partner Pokémon; The Pokédex calls it the "Music Note Pokémon", and it mimics human speech. Given its name it's probably very chatty, like Yakko.
Primarina - Again, to quote the Pokédex, "Its singing voice is its chief weapon in battle" and "To Primarina, every battle is a stage". That fits Yakko to a tee.
Mr. Rime - The Pokédex literally calls it the "Comedian Pokémon", which fits Yakko since he and his sibs are comedians but he in particular has mentioned wanting to do and has done stand up comedy a couple times. Plus, Mr. Rime tap dances!
Slowking - This Pokémon is intelligent, which fits Yakko because he's the brains of the group. It's also a reference to "King Yakko".
Scorbunny - Represents Yakko's bunny-like qualities (long ears, chose to first act like a bunny in the "What Are We?" song, being partially influenced by Bugs Bunny, etc).
Cosmog - Represents Yakko's interest in astronomy, given he's sung three different songs about space.
Wakko's Team :
Tumblr media
Dachsbun - Wakko's Partner Pokémon; Wakko acts like a dog all the time, plus it's a dog MADE OF BREAD. Wakko would try to catch all the food Pokémon for sure (and hopefully not eat them...)
Appletun - Again, it's food-based.
Delibird - It is known to carry food all day long, and its tail (yes, that's it's tail) is reminiscent of Wakko's gag bag.
Lickilicky - Reference to how Wakko usually has his tongue hanging out.
Rotom - Represents Wakko's more techy side (making gizmos, "fixing" the garage remote, playing video games, etc). It can control electric devices to make mischief and wreak havoc, which fits Wakko pretty well.
Jirachi - A reference to "Wakko's Wish"; it can grant wishes which is why the Pokédex calls it the "Wish Pokémon". The yellow structure on its head has three points that are meant to resemble the top of a star, and the two yellow streamers that flow from Jirachi's back resemble comet tails, so Jirachi is literally a living shooting/wishing star.
.
.
.
I just realised I ended up giving each Warner a Mythical/Legendary Pokémon...actually that's pretty in-character for them honestly.

It Is Rocket Science
Sonic The Hedgehog/ Pokemon
Takes place shortly after the events of Forces ( only difference was that Tails was actually brave LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BE-)
Trainer had been traveling through this new world for a while now and they already made 2 great friends. Sonic the hero of Earth who has defeated calamity many a time. A spirit as free as the wind, who never stayed in one place for too long. Sonic had a taste for adventure and chili dogs, and never turned there back on afriend in need. It was no wonder Sonic was so well liked among the people.
Then there was Sonic's best friend Tails, a fox who was born with 2 tails and could use them to fly by twisting them like a propeller. Tails was a genius, building amazing gadgets and devices that could do incredible things, Tails even built his own plane the Tornado. Tails was also a resreacher and when Sonic introduced Trainer and Co. to Tails his shock only lasted 5 seconds before he immediately threw a myriad of questions towards Trainer and Co. To Tails this was nothing short of amazing, the idea of other worlds wasn't new to him, but this was the first time he heard of a place where people and strange creatures called Pokwmon lived in peace and harmony with each other.
Tails absolutely insisted Trainer and Co. stay for at least a day or 2 so Tails could study and find out more about Trainer and the Pokemon. Trainer of course agreed wanting to get to know this world better along with making new friends, Sonic's curiosity even got him to stay in the city for bit to be with Trainer and Tails. It was all very cool and Tails even half jokingly said it was so nice too have a vistor from another world that didn't want to destroy, take it over, or attack them a sentiment Sonic shared
Sonic was perfectly fine with his current Rogue's Gallery thank you very much
When Trainer decided to leave to start seeing more of this world Tails and Sonic were sad to see them leave the city so soon, but were glad that they met Trainer first and got to give Trainer and Co. A warm welcome. Before Trainer left Tails gave Trainer his and Sonic's number so they all could keep in touch.
It had been five whole days since Trainer got to this world and they already got to experience so much of this world's wonders. From beautiful jungles too majestic mountains, it had so much too offer. Though while exploring a beach called Emerald Coast Trainer did come a cross something odd.
A strange looking robot
The robot wasn't at all active and looked to be beat up beyond belief. Scratches, rust, broken joints, Trainer was surprised that it was still one piece. It also looked incredibly odd, it looked like Sonic but had a lot of differing features. The top of it's head looked like a jet and it's back had what looked to be a engine sticking out. Trainer wondered if this was Metal Sonic, Sonic's doppleganger that Eggman had made, but this robot didn't fit the description.
Trainer just wondered about what too do before Rotomdex gave a suggestion.
Rotomdex: If we dragged the robot out and dry him off, it could go into what's left of his circuitry and memory banks and find out there story.
Trainer agreed with that idea and dragged the broken robot out and onto the beach. Decideing to set up camp hear, Trainer let everyone out and explained that the robot was being dried off and nothing was wrong. All the pokemon nodded and every one played and explored until the robot was done drying. After an hour under the beachside sun and telling Meltan too not eat the robot, the robot was dry and ready for Rotomdex to fuse with. Everyone one gathered around too see what would happen.
Rotomdex: BBBBZZZZTTTT!!!! Here I go!!!!
Rotom popped out of the pokedex to reveal it's true form as a electric ghost wisp, before zipping right into the robot.
It took only a second for Rotom's face to peak through the robot's showing Rotom had succesfully entered the machine.
Rotom: Alright acessing data banks now, BBBZZZTTT!!! Wow this robot is quite impr- BBBZZZRRRTTT!?!?!
Rotom got cut off as something strange happened, the robot's color morphed to mix both orange and blue, and the eyes became heterochromatic with one being Rotom's blue eye color and the other flashing between green and red. The robot got up and started doing some honestly funky looking dance moves before the joints locked up and the robot fell right back down
Trainer: Rotom!!!! Are you alright?!
Rotom: Ya I'm fine! The internal system just had a lot more kick than I was exp- wHO arE YOu
Rotom's voice got cut off again and was replaced by a staticky voice, which ended up spooking Rotom who popped out and immediately went back to the Rotomdex.
Trainer: Who are you?!
Trainer asked the question which was now on Trainer and Co. mind.
The robot with great struggle lifted it's head to look at Trainer.
????: I-I-I am Mech-cha S-Sonic Mod-Model 29. Ro-Rocket Me-Metal
The glitchy voice explained, so this is Metal Sonic that Sonic told Trainer about or at least a version of Metal Sonic. Sonic warned that Dr.Eggman's robots are not to be messed around with as tgey can all easily cause quite a bit of destruction. Though looking back on Rocket Metal, it was obvious that therobot had been long since left to the elements by Dr.Eggman. That left a bit of a sour taste in Trainer's mouth and decided to ask some more questions.
Rocket Metal answered all of them along with asking some of his own. Rocket Metal was a robot built by Eggman and to Rocket Metal's knowledge the youngest robot of the Mecha line ( the truth unknown to both is that Rocket Metal was the last of his line and after the destruction of the Death Egg Eggman has moved on too the E-Series) too stop Sonic and his friends from reaching the Death Mk.II and had failed to stop the heroes from reaching their destination. Rocket Metal was also shocked to learn that all happened almost 5 years ago when they asked for the year. Sonic and his friends were all young when that adventure happened. That news rattled Rocket Metal, why had he been left to wither away by Dr.Eggman. Rocket Metal tried so hard too make his creator proud....perhaps failing that mission made the Docter give up on Rocket Metal. Was Rocket Metal deemed to be a massive failure compared to his older siblings, when compared to Eggman's pride and joy Metal Sonic..... Yes that was the reason, Rocket Metal was a defective model who failed too live up to what the Docter made him for, it was only logical that Rocket Metal be thr-
Trainer: No it's not!!!!
This snapped Rocket Metal out of his thoughts as he had been speaking out loud and Trainer and Co. had listened to Metal Rocket demean himself.
Trainer: It's not right that you just be thrown away, Eggman made you with the ability to think and have thoughts of your own, the fact that all it took was one faliure for him to throw you away is horrible!!!
That entire monolouge had struck a cord with Trainer as they had seen to many times Trainers give up on pokemon after just for being not as powerful as they like or failing to meet impossible expectations and abanden said pokemon. It was one of the few things that upset Trainer and Rocket Metal's story uspet Trainer.
This confused Rocket Metal and he could not come up with a response to that so just stayed quite, even as Trainer got out a cloth and liquid and started to pain stakingly rub the rust off, even as they gently repainted his metal body back a brilliant deep blue, and as the strange creatures Trainer had helped Rocket Metal move around due to his legs being busted and helped oil up his joints so they could start moving again. Trainer even had given Rocket Metal a powerful battery to help keep himself online.
This all made Rocket Metal feel....odd and when Trainer made a call to someone asking for there help with fixing Rocket Metal it made Rocket Metal feel...happy.
When Rocket Metal was safely secured to Koraidon back and Trainer jumped onto the Sandwhich loving Pokemon, Rocket Metal finally figured out what to say
T-T-Thank Y-You
Tumblr media
Looks like Trainer made another new friend! I bet they have some very sharp words for Eggman if they ever come across each other. Also Trainer would give Sonic and Tails a heads up about Rocket Metal so to avoid any chance of friendly fire between them.

Another you + Pokémon. All muses!
Send “Another You” + a universe or media and for what my muse would be like in that universe.
((Oooohhhhh ho ho ho ho buckle up lmao this is gonna get long.))
Gyro
Gyro's still an inventor, but he also has a particular interest in researching ultra wormholes, space-time distortions, and the Faller phenomenon. He's a freelancer, but he works closely with the Dimensionl Resarch Lab in Heahea City, Interpol, and a small group of researchers from Sinnoh-- including Champion Cynthia herself. His Pokémon team includes Klingklang, Joltik, Escavalier, Flygon, Kabutops, and Beheeyem. I don't really have backstories for his team, but I do have reasons behind why I picked them. Klingklang is there because he's Gyro GEARloose. Joltik, because of an ancient headcanon of mine that he thinks bugs are neat. Escavalier is there for similar reasons, but also because it's a knight. Flygon, representative of the dragon Gyro fought (and also because he thought Trapinch was, once again, a neat bug). Kabutops, because reviving fossils sounds like the kind of sci-fi bs he would do and I like Kabutops lol. And Beheeyem because ALIENS.
Starchy
Hokay, SO: funny enough Starchy already has a Pokémon AU that I never really used. To rehash from my old blog, it's a pretty standard "what if X setting had Pokémon in it" type of deal. I wouldn't really call him a trainer, but he does have a few Pokémon he keeps around. All of them more or less adopted him. First of all is Absol. She showed up one day because this man is a walking disaster, and has made it her duty to save him from himself. She's never far from his side. Next is Minccino. He used to watch Starchy clean from afar, but managed to get into the castle one day and quickly asserted himself as Starchy's little helper. He takes a small fee of snacks from the castle larder. Third is a blue Floette. There's loads of them living in the gardens, and this one happened to take a liking to the feather in Starchy's hat. She's a silly little thing, but she's good company. Last in the original lineup is Petilil, which are also a common sight in the castle gardens. She's sort of Absol's sidekick, offering her healing leaves to Starchy whenever he gets himself into a scrape. I've also toyed with the idea of giving him an Appletun that hangs out down in the kitchens. Starchy's not keen on dragons, but the stubborn thing doesn't want to leave. Starchy's not much of a battler, but he will do it if pressed. Sometimes he thinks about joining contests, however.
Sawyer
Sawyer is, as in most universes, Just Some Guy™. You can probably find them loitering in an underpass or doing some urban exploration in an abandoned building. They're not an especially tough trainer, but they still battle recreationally. Their tiny team consists of Togedemaru (because I associate them with hedgehogs). Toxtricity (Low Key Form), and Rotom (Frost Form). I don't think they know that Rotom's base form is a Ghost Type lol.
Three Meat
Three Meat is... often mistaken for an Ultra Beast. Like in most universes, he tries not to be seen by the general public. To assign him a team just for fun though... Definitely gotta get a Scovillain in there. Maybe a Hoopa, for all the dimensional travel shenanigans. Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed), Combusken, and Grumpig to represent his three meats. And maybe Bruxish because of the funky colors.
Gourdon
Gourdon, like Three Meat, would probably be mistaken for an Ultra Beast... unless he traveled in disguise, as he often does. He would toy with people and Pokémon alike, dressed as a gambler, a beggar, a prince, or what have you, leading them astray or tricking them out of their valuables. His team would be a Pumpkaboo (Supersize) because obvious choice is obvious, Grimmsnarl because Dark/Fairy, Crustle because Gourdon has a friend in his canon who is a giant crab with an island on his back, Mime Jr. for its silly jester aesthetic, Zoroark because it's a master of disguise, and Gimmighoul (Chest Form) because it's the classic mimic.

An audio file has been uploaded courtesy of a mischievous Rotom! Take a listen?
//Please read the TW before reading below the cut! Stay safe.//
[Audio ID:
“I am TELLING you, you are not a MONSTER!” Lynda growls in frustration, this seems to have been going on for a bit. She seems to be crying… Who’s recording this…?
“Of course you’d think that Lyn… But with what I’ve done…” Silver sounds quiet, as if he would rather be off hiding in a hole. His voice seems to be closer to the microphone however, so it’s still being caught.
“What do you mean by that? Your dad knows you aren’t a monster, your mom knows, your brother knows, our kid, her friends, EVERYONE who knows you knows you aren’t a monster!” Her voice sounds very shaky. “What you’ve done is escape a horrible situation with horrible people. Yes you hurt people, but they hurt YOU, and would have done it again if given the chance! They’re better off dead!”
“Everyone who likes me is obviously not going to call me a monster because they don’t want to upset me… Hell they may be too scared to because they think I’ll hurt them like I did back at the lab… I had no control of myself back there… I killed a ton of people at once. Not because they were bad… I killed them because they were in the way…” Fear taints his voice as he goes on. “What if something makes me lose control again… I’ll end up just hurting those close to me…”
“Silver, I can easily pin you down and scruff you with my dragon form, for one. And for two, I know for a fact if your brother was scared of you he wouldn’t want to be around you or tolerate you. Three, you have gotten so much better with controlling it, you haven’t been forced into that form for years, and now you’re worried that you’ll rampage? Also, none of them have felt fear towards you.” She sounds like she’s trying desperately to calm back down.
“Yet there might be a breaking point… Someone pushes me off the metaphorical cliff… One wrong word… And they have been scared. I’ve seen it. The looks on their faces when they saw what those fuckers did to me-”
The sound of a door opening is heard, probably hitting a wall pretty hard if the loud bang is to say anything.
“Why do you keep arguing about- wait シルバー, why is your phone on?”
A soft “Bzzt!” is heard, before the video cuts out.
End of id]

What about Arcanine for a history check?
Pokemon History! | Closed
“Nice! Obviously I'd have great taste in pokemon. Let's talk about my best friend."
He waved to Rotom display to show pictures while he explained.
"Number 59 in the Kanto entry, Arcanine, clasified as the legendary pokemon. Highly revered as being a Proud and Loyal companion to many trainers, an unwavering justice that follows it well beyond its many stories being the go-to for many that can tame them." He took a seat and continued. Showing Both Kanto growlithe and Hisuian version.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
" It has not changed much from its ancestors, form wise. There are documents showing a previous form, the hisuian shows sign of a stronger red and more solid grey being closer to it's vastly older counter part predating them both." The screen switched to two stone like creatures that show to look like rock versions of the pokemon in question.
Well sort of.
Tumblr media
"Here's a pic of my journey up at mt.silver discovering one of them and they were cool enough to let me pet them. They were guarding a temple at our first stop before heading up the higher, It may not seem like much but they were HUGE and confirmed some of our beliefs and suspicions of these gargantuan pokemon. That being..."
He showed his index finger.
"
They came in pairs
they were unyielding and would ALWAYS stay outside the residence they were guarding. Mayorly temples and palaces
They are still fire type...Well kind of.
You see they actually come in pairs but both fulfil a different purpose, I knew the one with it's mouth open used fire in out texts they mention extinguishing evil spirits with sacred flames. But the other would consume the evil spirits and cast ice keeping them trapped. They also have psychic attacks from my knowledge but I can neither confirm or deny it by looking at them fight. An as mentioned they belong to the temple so even if I could catch them it wouldn't work.
final verdict is one is rock/fire the other is rock/ice respectively.
"
The rotom switched to more pictures.
Tumblr media
"Anyway, here are some historical proof of figures presumably given as gifts for the royal family. Though while I continue to call them arcanine, they are not referred to as such in text. Name is still unknow but some variants have been Koensei or Arcane but further research is required."
"Arcanine's we know now run in prairies and are very rarely seen alone which come back down to it's roots of primarily being a pack pokemon and breed as they always were both male and female. Increasing the population, being sent to those with higher status as gifts and eventually they began to florish the land with their presence and become a household name."
Blue seemed pretty pleased.
" I have more evidence but that's the generalization. Feel free to come by anytime for more info."

The Applin Incident
Summary: Ramona gives Arven an Applin. Neither of them know the cultural implications of it. Everyone else is. Chaos ensues.
Note: Happy Valentines Day! And yes, this is gonna go the shipping route, to go on theme. This was supposed to be more of a comedy, but it ended up a semi character study of Ramona. All in all, I hope you enjoy :)
~~~
"Arven!" Ramona calls, as she walks past some nearby students. Arven looks up from his rotom phone, giving her a slight smile.
" Took you long enough. It's rude to keep the person you called waiting, you know," he teases, and Ramona rolls her eyes.
" Well I'm sorry I can't walk down stairs fast enough for you,"
" Can't you just take the elevator?" Arven asks, raising a brow. Ramona gives him a soft glare.
" I would if they weren't broken. Now do you want this Applin or not?"
Ramona doesn't wait for a reply, as she takes out Applin's PokeBall. With a flick and a beam of light, a small Applin appears in her other hand. The small pokemon cries , looking up at her trainer with glee. Ramona feels a pang of guilt, knowing what's going to happen.
" Hey there, girl. Remember when I said I couldn't find the time to take care of you? Well I found someone who can!" She gestures to Arven, who gives the small Applin a small wave.
" He's a good trainer and a big softy," Ramona says with a wink, earning a soft glare from Arven, " I trust him to treat you right, okay?"
The Applin looks between Arven and Ramona, as if making her assessment. After a few seconds, she jumps up and down on Ramona's hand- thankfully she's light so it doesn't hurt- and takes a massive leap towards Arven's shoulder.
" Well then!" Arven laughs, using a finger to let his new pokemon, " Glad I made a good impression,". The Applin coos, nuzzling against Arven's cheek, making him giggle.
" And that's that! I'll visit ya, so don't think you've seen the last of me!" Ramona wags a finger at the Applin,who chirps in response.
"Now that's done, I think we have time before our next class," Arven hums, " Wanna get a sand-"
Arven was cut off by a... suspiciously loud group of murmuring. The two teens turn to see a group of students whispering amongst each other, looking at them. Or maybe their just looking at her. Ramona feels a pit form in her stomach. It always starts with whispers, does it? Being "The Calamity" will never really go away-
" Hey," Arven rests a hand on her shoulder, " Let's not worry about them. Wanna get a bite to eat?"
Ramona looks at the group of students,still whispering, then back at Arven. She gives him a smile.
" Yeah. That- that would be nice,"
The two went off to the school cafeteria, their fellow students and ultimately ended up enjoying their day. If only things were that simple
~~~~
" Are you and Arven dating?"
" What."
The girl seemed completely unfazed by Ramona's reply, merely looking at her with amusement.
" You gave him an Applin, right? Everyone saw. You confessed to him,".
Ramona stares at the girl, completely godsmacked. What does an Applin have to do with confessing? It's a pokemon???
" Wha-" Ramona tries to reply, but her voice seems to let out. The student continues anyway.
" I mean the fact that you caught a real Applin instead of, like, buying a charm or something, but you went for the real deal!"
Ramona clenches her jaw, a glare starting to form. She's patronizing her. She can feel it. It's all in her voice, the mask of wanting a simple conversation, only to just take small digs at her.
" So. Are you two dating?" Ramona doesn't respond. She's not going to give this girl that satisfaction.
" Or did he reject you?"
Ramona's temper rises, and she shoots up from her desk and immediately books it to the door.
" Huh?! Wait, class didn't even start-"
Ramona blocks the girl out, her mind sizzling.
Dating. Seriously?!
~~~~~
The rumor spreads like wild fire. Every turn she takes someone asks if she's dating Arven. It's almost inescapable. Almost all of them are condescending, in a way. Though some of them were just blunt.
" Arven? Dating The Calamity?"
" Oh man, he must want a death sentence-"
She tries to ignore them. Remind herself that she isn't that person anymore. That she's not some mindless brute. That she doesn't want to harm anyone. But it's hard. The rumors make it harder. Bless Nemona for scaring them off, though. She's been by Ramona's side since the whole ordeal....even if she does tease her about it.
A walk down the hall and Arven and Ramona's eyes meet. They both look away.
~~~~~
" .... It is kinda funny,"
" Jacq."
Ramona glares daggers at her legal guardian ( ...dad? She doesn't know) from the couch she's sulking in. She's watching him lose at a racing game.
" It kinda is! I mean, you didn't know-"
" Because your Pokedex didn't mention it!" Ramona points a finger at Jacq accusingly,only for Jacq to snicker. He's still losing.
" True, but you have two Galarian friends that could have told you that. Giving Applin to a crush is apart of Galar's customs,"
Ramona mentally pauses, then glares at her hands.
" I'm gonna kill them,"
" Please don't,"
Jacq loses his race, a disappointed sigh escaping his lips. He pauses the game and turns to Ramona.
" Jokes aside....how are you holding up? It's kinda everywhere at the academy,".
Ramona sulks deeper into the couch, crossing her arms.
"They...they keep calling me The Calamity. Saying Arven has a death wish cause they think we're dating,"she digs her nails into her skin, ' I'm not that bad, right?"
" You were never 'bad', Ramona," Jacq says sternly, " Never. I need you to understand that,"
In slides a little closer to Ramona, resting a hand on her shoulder.
" I'll bring it up with the other teachers and Clavell. We all thought it was a cute rumor at first, but then we started listening. And now..." He shakes her head, " I don't think we can let that continue, hm?"
" I mean....I guess," Ramona mumbles, covering her face with her hands, " I'm gonna have to sit through a dumb PSA, aren't I?"
"Maybe!" Jacq chuckles, "Who knows! We haven't discussed it yet,"
Ramona groans loudly.
" I hate this,"
" You said that 10 times already,"
" It's your fault, by the way,"
" Oh, of course," Jacq muses, clearly not taking her accusations seriously.
" And Arven's," This makes Jacq raise a brow?
" Arven?"
" Arven is stupid," Jacq smiles at her, a teasing glint in his eye shining.
" So you do like him,"
Heat rushes towards her cheeks.
" Shut up and play your game, old man,"
Jacq chuckles again, un-pausing his game,mumbling something of " the irony".
~~~~~
Good news: The rumors died down. Whether it was the staff's doing or it just died down naturally, Ramona doesn't care. Thank fuck not everyone is asking her if she's dating Arven. There's still a few whispers, but nothing extreme. She can look at Arven again without a shit ton of embarrassment washing over her. They even waved at each other today!
Bad news: Students are still bitches. Point in case: this bitch.
" So....you two aren't dating?" The girl- Ramona doesn't even bother with her name at this point- asks, eyeing Ramona with curiosity.
"No," Ramona says curtly, hoping that the girl would get the idea and leave her alone. She doesn't. No one ever does.
"So does that mean you're available?"
When Ramona thinks this girl can't leave her speechless anymore, she does. She feels like she was just run over by a truck then hit by lighting.
" Huh?!"
Again, the girl- should she learn her name???- doesn't look fazed by Ramona's reaction.
" You're open, no?"
Ramona feels her emotions spiral under a blanket of pure confusion. This is the same girl that sounded so condescending towards earlier. The girl who made her storm out of the classroom before class even started. The same girl who she knows was looking down on her during the entirety of that first conversation. She's???? Asking her out?????? In a classroom???????????
" W-well, yes,but-"
" Let's go out then,"
The irritation is back.
" No,". The girl stares at her, then turns away. She doesn't look upset, or anything really. Just. Unfazed.
" Fine," she says as the teacher calls for the class's attention." Your loss,"
Ramona wants to slap her.
~~~~
Dammit, she was pretty too.
~~~~~
" You know Arven," Ramona sighs, taking a bite of her sandwich, " You're the last person I would expect to get into a fight,"
" Almost,"
" Almost, right,".
The two of them gradually started hanging out again, with the rumors dying down. They were waiting on Nemona, who was bringing Luca and Penny along for their picnic. Arven's idea, of course. It doesn't stop Ramona from snagging a sandwich while they wait.
" Please don't nag me about it, I already got an earful from Nemona," he sighs, crossing his arms, " Luca said he wasn't mad, but disappointed,"
" Yikes. From your own little buddy," Ramona holds back a laugh, " What was that even about anyway?"
Arven's face hardens, a scowl on his face.
" Some other students were talking about us. How I have a death wish dating " The Calamity". Tsk,".
Ramona takes another bite out of her sandwich and shrugs.
" Eh. Should have expected those guys to stick. It's no big deal,"
" But it is!" Arven counters, " You're not some bully! Or "The Calamity"! You're Ramona Beatriz Luna, my friend and one of the coolest people I know! I can't just sit there and let people talk about you like that-"
" You think I'm cool?" The question seems to catch both of them off guard. Arven's cheeks redden, as does Ramona's, and Arven avert his gaze.
" W-well, yeah. Of course I do! Who wouldn't?" Ramona's blush deepens.
" Oh." She pauses, thinking over her words, "I think you're pretty cool, too". She gives Arven a slight smile. Arven returns it, albeit a flustered one.
" T-thanks,"
The two stand there in silence, both trying desperately not to look stupid with their red faces and goofy smiles. Fortunately, Nemona and the others come along, Nemona and Luca waving excitedly. The group walks off together, Ramona and Arven staying close to each other the whole way.
The small package from Arven was at the front of her dorm room when she reached it. It was wrapped in a yellow cloth- his favorite shade- with a sunflower pattern on it. There was a note attached to it:
' Sorry for being a coward. Applin says hi, btw'.
Now confused, she unwraps her gift. Her eyes widened to what was inside.
Applin cookies.
Her heart is soaring. Teary eyed, she took a bite.
It was sweet.
