Starting a new thread 'cause that one was hella long.

Tiffany Aching, the marvelous young witch of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. The five books featuring Tiffany spell out what it means to be a witch to me, and I adore them and her to pieces.

Menolly, from Anne McCaffery's Harper Hall series and Pern. She was my first fantasy character love. I wanted to be her, be friends with her, talk about fire lizards and music and dragons.

Victoria Nelson, half blind detective and all around badass from Tanya Huff's Blood books. She was one of the first characters that I recognized as being amazing not 'despite' her disability, but in defiance of it.

Kaz Brekker, from Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology. There's so many thing I find fascinating and relatable in Kaz, from disability to trauma. He's sarcastic, strong willed, and fragile inside the armor.

Inej Ghafa, from Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology. Inej is amazing. Keeping her sense of self and her faith through the horrors she's been through. Being steadfast and loyal to her crew.

in my GREAT WISDOM (sarcastic) i forgot to put side windows on the school made out of cabins here

so i had to add them after copy-pasting every cabin

Originally, these were Prisoner (lie, she skips school) and Advy (cheat, she forces Quiet to do te homework), but i thought against it and gave them to the obvious choices (plus Narrator was introducing the school to Quiet here, so he couldn't be the one talking to Advy)

i don't really draw the voices, but the Narrator is here!

i think it's a pretty universal choice to give Narrator glasses.

by the way, all these Japanese doesn't mean I'm fluent 😭😭 i'm still just a learner, so if there's a mistake, don't be afraid to correct me!

You mean to tell me that the pevensie siblings had ruled Narnia for DECADES before they had to come back to their normal lives, taking in the fact that time never passed at all in their world, only for them to do algebra and latin again in school all over again?? I wish the psychological aspect of this was expanded more because wtf? They probably hadn't picked up an algebra/latin textbook in decades so they come back and forget basically anything they've learnt in school?? Would it have slowed down their learning progress? Is that why peter was sent to professor kirke's house specifically for tutoring?? because kirke could understand the impact of moving completely different worlds and adjusting to it knowing that he'd be too old to return, while simultaneously continuing his life like nothing happened?? Or am I just reading into it too much because this still kinda blows my mind lol. Their perception of time would've been really fucked up.

today i am thinking about the inherent devastating nature of the song, “one short day” in wicked and how, despite its upbeat sound and feel, the lyrics are meant to foreshadow the little time that these characters have, not only in the emerald city living out their dreams, but together as friends (or potential lovers etc). in the end, they really only had one short day. one day to live out their wildest dreams and fantasies together before they’d essentially be split up forever, because regardless of what happens after this, they’re both permanently changed in ways that cannot truly be reconciled. but anyway
