What if Eisha wasn’t the WoL? What would her life look like? (For the “What if”’s)

She rose with sun, as she did every day, to begin the task of prepping for the day’s meals. She’d been moved to Mor Dhona at the request of someone she did not know— she simply went and cooked wherever she was told to.

That did not stop her from starting her morning high up on the city walls, a warm cup of tea nestled in her hands as the sun’s light bounced along the blue crystals jutting their way out of the landscape. A landscape she’d love to explore, if she were not bound to her debts. Maybe someday.

After the morning rush, she gets to work on the rest of the day’s needs. There’s bread to bake, stock to simmer, pounds of vegetables to chop. She’s head to toe in flour after the first round of dough is made— kneaded until soft, left to rise, and then scored and placed in the oven. She ponders how quickly this batch will go, when a voice interrupts her thoughts.

“Pardon, but do you have any of those cookies left from the other day?”

She looks up to see a handsome Miqo’te, bright red hair with one red eye to match leaning on the counter with one hand. For some reason, he looks familiar.

“I bake a lot of cookies. Which ones in particular?”

“The little ones, soft and covered in cinnamon. My friend, the Warrior of Light, was raving about them.” He says proudly.

The Warrior of Light. She’d heard about them, the heroics and great deeds were well known amongst the travelers of this place. She’d even heard rumors that the Scions of the Seventh Dawn were stationed here now.

“Those are my specialty. Unfortunately, I don’t have any made right now, and today’s a busy day.”

“I’ve heard such good things about them, and would like to try them before my next journey. Would you consider payment for a small batch?”

Their eyes meet, and the rush of everything around seems to still. She’d usually say no to such a request—as if she had the time!— yet something in her stirs.

“…I suppose I can set aside some time later to make some.”

“I would be eternally grateful, miss…?”

“Pantera. Eisha Pantera.”

“A pretty name for a pretty face. I am G’raha Tia, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to seeing you later.”

She watches as he walks away, wondering what it is that made her say yes. There was no denying he was charming but it felt like something more, like for a moment everything in the universe had aligned just perfectly when they’d met the other’s gaze.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

is that piece of media actually bad, or is it just not following the blueprint you projected onto it? is that work actually not good, or are you just demanding something from it that is absolutely antithetical to its themes, genre, tone, and narrative goal? is that story actually poorly written, or do you just dislike that it is not the specific things you wanted from it that it never set out to be, never was, and never is going to become? is it actually bad, or is it actually well-executed and you just dislike the story it chose to be because it isn't catering to your specific desires and expectations?

Very important to have friends who enjoy media you don’t personally enjoy, both because having friends with varying interests can help you understand why someone might enjoy something even if it’s not your cup of tea which can help build empathy skills and also because there’s nothing more fun then being able to explain the plots of your respective obsessions to each other and have the other respond with “what the fuck”

DPxDC Danny the Guy Who Won't Die

He lives in Gotham, and he is just A Guy. Nothing weird about him, he's just there to study/work/help Lady Gotham to lift her curse/on vacation with Sam. Point is, he is not there to cause trouble and there's no GIW on his tail. Just a dude living his (after)life.

And Gotham, being Gotham, still finds a way to be annoying. There are mugging attempts, robbery, Rogues running around. Only Danny really doesn't want to deal with any of it.

Now there's a dilemma. If he uses his powers to fight, it will sooner or later come to Bats' attention. And if he fights as a human, it will also alert some of the Bats since he doesn't really do a great job at keeping his power levels low. Not to mention the fact he is really not enthusiastic about accidentally punching someone hard enough he sends them to a hospital.

What does he do instead? He pulls the 'I guess I'll die' act.

So every time he is attacked, he just plays dead. The mugger shot him in the chest? He falls down and stops breathing. Caught up in the middle of a Poison Ivy attack? Skewers himself on the vine and goes lax. Scarecrow's Fear Gas? Very dramatically chokes himself and plays a corpse. He makes sure to disappear before any ambulances arrive later, and it all goes well for a few months - he is just a casualty, who cares, really - until one day, he runs into that same mugger who shot him in the chest a while ago.

The man does a double take. Danny doesn't notice - he's been mugged so many times, who has the brain capacity to remember all of those fuckers. But the rumor goes out anyway.

A guy-who-won't-die. It's more of a city legend, really, and the Bats don't give it much thought since, well, it sounds stupid and not very important. A rumor of some man who was shot dead and then showed up like nothing happened? Yeah, it's probably because the mugger didn't check if he was actually dead. That happens. Maybe it wasn't even the same man, Gotham is a big city. If anything, hey, at least that was one less casualty? That's a good thing.

That is, until one day, they show up to Joker's hostage situation and witness the clown screaming at one of the hostages. He is so enraged he is shaking, spit flying out of his mouth, and, contrary to the usual Joker's evil sneers and maniacal laughter, he seems just... furious. But, like, the normal-human-level furious. The 'I just lost the last ounce of patience with you' furious.

"Don't you look away from me, you think I don't remember you?! Na-ah, I do. You were the one I drowned in the shark tank last week! And you were the one run through the chainsaw trap two weeks before that! And you were in the guillotine!!! I saw your fucking head get deattached from your body, how the fuck are you here again?!"

And the guy he is screaming at just looks at him, confused and incomprehensive.

"Um, I'm pretty sure I'd remember getting my head cut off, you know? So, err, wrong guy."

"Wrong guy my fucking ass-"

Joker is so distracted by his screaming match that it makes it almost too easy for the Bats to fight him down and drag to Arkham. Yet, a few of them get just a bit suspicious.

Now, imagine all the shenanigans when they try keeping a watch on Danny the Won't Die Guy.

i’ve started getting so unreasonably cranky at those posts that are like ‘i’m sick of [aspect of popular media] someone should make [opposite thing]!!!’ by people who don’t seem invested in the idea they’re pitching as anything beyond a subversion of the norm. like ok. i see where you’re coming from but where are you actually going. look me in the eyes and give me one good reason you think that story concept is possible to pull off

DPxDC Idea

Danny working at Wayne Enterprises as some sort of engineer, uses the in-house app for all his blueprints and stuff

He starts getting notes from a coworker in-app, and assumes its this annoying older guy in his department who constantly undermines him because of his age, despite his education and past achievements (i feel like in this AU the Fentons react well to the reveal and they work together on a number of non-lethal ecto inventions that have Danny's name attached to them)

Except one day his coworker mentions never using the app, and Danny suddenly realizes there's only one other TD he could've been arguing with in the notes of the app

DC X DP PROMPT

So it’s a common thing for Danny to become an accidental crime lord, but how about doing it on purpose?

Danny while in the ghost zone meets several ex mob members and goons who were offed and they take a liking to this scrawny and scrappy teenager and decide to help him out. After finally getting a week of rest for the first time in like 5 years Danny feels indebted and asks what he can do for them.

Cut to 1 week later and Danny heads off to Gotham University for college while also collecting evidence to get several mob bosses and villains ACTUAL prison sentences.

Of course Danny knows that a power vacuum isn’t exactly a good thing to have so he decides he’ll just takeover their operations, after all if he’s running it he can decide how it’s run. It’s genius!

Meanwhile Jason gets word of several mob bosses getting arrested and decides to expand his territory. After all that way he can control the crime in more areas.
