So um. Idk if thus is gonna get heard and found by the right people, but it needs to be said: just because someone is largely pushing for positive things doesn't mean they're exempt from being wrong about things either. This applies to feminists. Just because someone is all for women's rights or even LGBTQ+ rights doesn't make them exempt from making racist or abelist or even sexist remarks (or discriminatory remarks in general), whether they realise that's what they're doing or not. I'm not saying to take everything as a bad faith argument, that's just shitty. But like. Think about what you read a little. I'm not saying I'm perfect. I'm hardly perfect, and I make mistakes. Which is precisely why I'm saying this. But simply. Just because people see someone as a paragon of all that is right or whatever or as an authority on what's good and what's bad, that doesn't mean you should take everything they say as the truth. People can both have something meaningful and insightful to say about one thing whilst also completely trampling or disregarding something else. And I think that's important to keep in mind. You don't have to agree which absolutely everything someone says. It's fine to agree with one part of an argument and disagree with another.
Basically, NOBODY IS PERFECT, NOT EVEN YOU, AND THATS OK. And also. The first step to becoming a better person in general is to acknowledge that you can and will likely make mistakes, as will other people. Because if you acknowledge this then you can learn, both from your own mistakes and others mistakes.
And yes, it is hard to always keep this in mind, but if you just remember it whenever your about to read something or engage in discourse, and just be ready to admit, even if only to yourself, that you may have been wrong about something, then that's all I ask.
Because realising that you were wrong can suck. Sometimes to the point of actually feeling ill. It makes you wanna avoid being wrong, you might search for validation and that aactually you were right and double down to avoid that feeling and I get that, ive definately done that before. It wasnt the right thing to do but yeah, i did that. But remembering that people are people and people aren't perfect and everyone makes mistakes can make it even just a little easier. The mistakes everyone makes vary from person to person. One person may be wrong about, say, the history and geography of names for different types of bread whilst another person may be wrong about the pronunciation of the word ginnel and what it means, or someone may be wrong about something much bigger. And you may be one of those people and that's just something to accept. There's nothing wrong with it as long as you realise it, accept it, and learn. Even if you only learn as much as "what I thought was the case is not the case actually" that's still learning.
So yeah. Basically, you can make mistakes and there's nothing wrong with that. Other people make mistakes and there's nothing wring with that. Even people you see as authorities on a subject can make mistakes in regards to that subject and that's something that you need to recognise. Despite this, don't go out seeking the worst in people, and just remember that for all that people make mistakes, they can grow and learn from those mistakes as long as they recognise that they made a mistake. And this applies to me and you.
Also: people respond better to kindness than to confrontation.

AMAZON IS STRIKING LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!! LETS GO!@!
as someone who has worked in amazon warehouses for many years, this is crazy like. oh my god. DURING PEAK SEASON?? LETS GOOOO
media and companies are already trying to say "DONT LET THE UNIONS MISLEAD YOU WE PROMISE WE TREAT OUR WORKERS WELL!!!" well hey ive worked there for YEARS. they do not ! dont listen to their bullshit. it might be difficult to not get frustrated if packages are late at the most important time of the year but thats the whole point -- strikes happening when the workers are most necessary is a massive blow to showing just how essential the workers are . anyways stand with amazon workers this holiday season god fucking bless

reactions to Batman coming up to the Watchtower for a JL meeting without his cowl just wearing a domino mask, in order of hilarity:
oh no he’s hot (Clark)
he’s older than I thought he was (Diana)
he’s younger than I thought he was (Hal)
he has hair??? (Barry)
why do I recognize that scar above his left eyebrow? (both Dinah and Ollie, simultaneously)
good lord how is he so hot (still Clark)

luigi mangione, the SUSPECTED (innocent until proven guilty) united healthcare shooter, has been charged with terrorism. that’s right. a man who supposedly shot ONE SINGLE PERSON is being charged with terrorism. because in america, billionaires lives matter enough that a SINGLE rich man’s death is considered a terrorist act against this country. think about that.

As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. We usually go to lengths to verify this shit because we know scammers have been faking to get people to send them money, using the urgency of our genocide as bait.
It's disgusting this is what we're dealing with, but people are losing money because of some truly evil people out there.
Accounts don't just randomly spring up on tumblr without gofundmes while asking for someone to help them create a campaign. Fuck out of here with that shit.
