The Taxidermist (or the Mousemeister, as it would call itself). A patchwork creature that uses its golden sheers to snip the person away and leave only a verminous beast, in the hopes of finding new and interesting body parts to replace its old decaying form. The useless animals are doomed line its quilted burrows as handmade furniture and the ever-present smell of mouse soup.

Guys please. Benoit Blanc wasn’t “hinted at” being gay in Glass Onion. He IS gay. CANONICALLY. Even if Rian Johnson didn’t confirm that Hugh Grant is in a romantic relationship with Blanc, if it was a woman answering the door, everyone would just assume that was his girlfriend or wife or smth.

This isn’t something that’s ever gonna be explored bc the movies aren’t about his identity. They’re barely about Blanc. He’s just the world’s greatest detective, and he just so happens to be gay.

ultimately when it comes to shipping and fandom space treatment of aspec characters i just don't accept "aro/ace people can still date/have sex" as an answer from nonaspecs. like yeah. mhm. okay. now i think we both know that you're not saying that out of real interest in the diversity of aspec experiences. so you can turn in your seventeen-page essay on why and how you plan to examine this character's aspec identity within the context of a romantic or sexual relationship complete with evidence from canon and peer reviews from multiple aspec people within the next week or i'm putting you in the pit from the edgar allen poe story

An interesting “side effect” of the canonization of the “classic era” meaning “younger era” is that the classic era now reads as “cute fun times” before the core cast became teenagers/tweens and things got super, super complicated.

Because the characters are “younger,” there’s an air of “little rascal innocence” to everything they do now. The new releases like Mania and Superstars now feel like little throwbacks to the young heroes just learning how to work together and make a difference in the world.

I don’t think this is a bad thing at all.

#this is actually something I’ve headcanoned for years #seeing it reflected like this in canon is actually pretty strange #but welcome #I genuinely think it makes much more sense #it reminds me a lot of the anime erased if anyone knows what that is #this was obviously never the plan from the beginning. I think Astrid Hofferson has a bad case of the 'my childhood was wasted, I grew up too fast for something ultimately proven pointless.' Syndrome and that she deserves to get to do silly things she missed out on and take up new hobbies, even if she's not particularly good at them–it's purely for the experience yknow, and learn to finally breathe no longer needing to be on constant high alert and get to be truly happy

#astrid hofferson #big hc is hiccup teaching astrid to sew (shes not very good at it or patient enough to be #but still appreciates it) since she never had the chance to learn growing up #i think hiccup would have astrid try a ton of different things to find what she likes (it ends up being art. SHE CAN CANONICALLY DRAW #AND WELL.) bc he knows a bunch of random shit from how much time he spent holed up in his house #during raids and stuff. he had to entertain himself somehow. and he ends up spending time with astrid doing things that would've previously #been considered pointless back when it was constant survival mode but now they finally have time to just.
