DPXDC Prompt #94
Danny falls through a portal to the DC world from a natural portal that opened up while he was in mid fight with Skulker a fight that began at Vlads where the creep put a collar on Danny that kept him in ghost form, Vlad thought he’d force Danny to reveal his secret to his parents by taking away his human form. Looking around he’s in a dark city with dark smog colored skies. Unfortunately he’s stuck here as the portal closed leaving him trapped. He tried to find help but no one can see him in his ghost form. He starts tailing the vigilantes of this world and eventually follows one onto this space station through this tube (possessing inanimate objects sure comes in handy). He wasn’t expecting for the random British guy in a trench coat to see him.

Do you think Mac has jacked off while reading the Bible? Or is he too ashamed? Or does the shame just turn him on more? Are the pages of his Bible all stuck together?
Oh, I don't think; we know:
(Pages stuck together, thanks for the confirmation, Charlie)
I think the shame definitely turns him on more, considering Mac Day:
And, the connected punishment, lest we forget The Gang Goes to Hell... (and the script here... whew)
While he was repressed then, he wasn't as of Charlie's Home Alone, so I think it's clear to claim that a part of his "homosexual awakening" was connected to the fact that he was gradually getting more and more into the idea of being punished (gone sexual) for his sins, to a point where he was just genuinely jerking off to the "evils of homosexuality"
I do wanna continue here though and say Season 15 is pretty interesting because we see Mac battle between being Catholic and proudly gay. He seemingly has no issue bragging to a Priest in the middle of a church that he's into triple penetration, but it is his sex life that is the driving "reasoning" for why he thinks he should become a Catholic Priest:
He's been "S-ing&F-ing" his way though life for too long and now he thinks God has taken away one of his identities (Irish) as a result. Mac's idea of being punished by/for God continues, but it's now through the form of revocation (as opposed to shame or flagellation). I think there's a clear "connect the dots" idea that depriving himself of sex (via becoming a Priest) is an "evolved" form of allowing God to punish him for being gay.
Obviously Mac learns he was lied to, as he actually is Irish, so his "journey" here is a bit of a wash, but the fact that his rationale jumped to God punishing him for having gay sex still stands. As he grows to accept himself, he's still looking for ways to feel shame (which, as we've seen, gets him off)...
But is the constant seeking for some form of punishment still there? We didn't see much of his Catholicism in Season 16 (I think the only mention of God from Mac was in The Gang Gets Cursed), but we did continue to see his sex life and—well, that was pretty heavy on Mac, openly gay dating, somehow managing to be neglected and deprived of actual gay sex, wasn't it?

resident evil cowboy au??? resident evil cowboy au!
or maybe more like ‘western au’ but whatever. someone mentioned the words ‘cowboy au’ within my circle and that was all it took, i was gone on another extreme au adventure. have brainrot, will travel.
bonus initial concept sketch below — leon is older in it than in the comic and has graduated to dual pistols. chris remains grizzled.

ruminating on the current neil gaiman stuff, cw transphobia, talk about rape/assault
"believe all victims" doesn't mean "blindly believe every story of victimization when there are some clear indications that there's some serious bullshit going on." i think some people reacting to this shit with gaiman are, strangely, being a little too... not optimistic, but not being realistic about the sorts of shit that conservative/right wing publications will do to push their agenda. they don't need to be accurate, empathetic, or correct. they don't even need to commit to or prove or stand behind what they publish. they just need to shove something into the public conversation that suits their agenda and gets the big reaction, and then if they need to do so later for legal reasons, they'll post a quiet retraction that nobody will read and won't ultimately matter
these people are incredibly predatory, and will happily seek out people with legitimate grievance to encourage them to frame their experiences in a way that fits their agenda. with gaiman (and tennant and sheen, for that matter) clearly being a TERF target for being vocally supportive of trans people, it feels relevant to bring up joanne here. joanne has legitimate trauma. she was raped by a man. she has PTSD and her fear of men is something that's real and deserves sensitivity -- but her relationship with TERFs has morphed that legitimate grievance into "the existence of trans women is rape" and a whole host of other wild shit. and i do think she believes all that! i do think her fear of trans women, her absolute conviction that all trans women are deceivers and their every action is predatory, is very real. and i don't think she started out that way, that fear and distortion of reality was the clear and obvious result of being radicalized by TERFs who flattered her, supported her when she felt isolated, and validated all of her fears so well that when they wanted to give her new ones, she readily adopted them
that's to say that i don't put any fucking stock in the right-wing outlets or the podcast that the gaiman accusations happened on, and i don't put it past them to dig into legit grievances -- that the relationships were volatile and emotional, or that he had them while married and wouldn't leave his wife, or that they ended in messy ways, as possible examples -- and poke and prod and revisit the details until the stories conveniently fit into the perspective they want
which they then (supposedly) sat on for months until dropping the podcast episode like a tactical nuke right when david tennant and michael sheen are actively beefing with the conservatives over their pet issue and taking down gaiman's reputation would muddy the conversation and make it easier than ever to turn it into their classic "trans people and their supporters are predators" routine
i'm saying this serves the TERF agenda too well for me to take anything at face value here

... jgy really was someone who killed nmj..which is something lxc did not see..
idk what to tell u. is that not Truthy enough?
# i'm so tired too that i can't browse the jgy tag without there always being a cunty vague comment on the audacity of some other people to have a mdzs opinion of their own. and it's always some blog with a lot of followers shitting on some other smaller blog who is just posting their own thoughts. who made you the tag police? why does the mdzs fandom even have a tag police? like, why is that a Thing? it's really not ok.
why do hardcore jgy fans have this need to chop canon in pieces to defend the poor lil meow meow? he's fine as he is! i like him for being deeply fucked and a criminal! i know exactly what he did and how he's deluded himself that he Needed to do it. jgy being an unreliable narrator to his own story is what makes him so sad and pathetic and enjoyable. he's already relatable enough ffs. no need to defend him like he was a kpop boy.
are you new to fandom or something

Looking for some fanfic recs and would love for our community to help me find a variety of things to put in my back pocket for my bedtime story fixes. What I'm looking for is the general theme of 'Reunited Years Later'. I don't care if it's canon, in fact it's probably better if not given the other desires. Oh, minor note, they should be on Ao3 please, I just work better with keeping track of things there. Which are:
Characters: Any combination of Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson, Billy Hargrove (all others welcome around the edges, but one of these three should be MC)
Ships: Let's start with Gen is fine. I love Gen Fic (especially if in this case it's getting people back together for more USD fighting many years later or maybe a 'getting the band back together' theme). But I'm happy to have any combination of the above characters but also Stancy (but only if they were not romantically involved in the years apart), Munver (Jason has to have some background emotional improvement), Hellcheer, Tommy Hagan and either Steve or Billy.
AUs: Bonus points if it's 'getting the band back together' literally or metaphorically, Everyone Lives AUs, drawn back to Hawkins to fight the USD shit again years later, or No Upside-Down but reuniting after becoming successful/settled. Also bonus points if any of the boys has a kid.
Length: Either 4k+ if completed, or any level of WIP (including seemingly abandoned fic. Not that I don't like short short stuff too, but for bed time I prefer at certain length to let the sleepies settle in, and I find that hits at about 4k or more.
Rating: Any is fine, but if it's higher rating i'd prefer it not just be a PWP.
Any advice anyone has is just the best. Thanks! Just throw a fic name or link in the comments, or reblog with a link. You're all heroes.
