I made a channel on my Discord server for WH40k stuff and we've decided the best way to introduce new people to Warhammer is by explaining Jehoels-Fleshlight. Truly the strongest foundation for all other lore and trivia.

Never related to Mike Channel so strongly as when he basically said "The world of WH40K has a very cool aesthetic, but the actual game seems overcomplicated and I don't want to paint that many minis." Like yeah, I will play an awful lot of 40K computer games, yeah I love Caiphas Cain, no I don't feel like measuring movement with a tape measure.

The description of the final battle between The Emperor and Horus has always been a part of the story i really enjoyed. Because to me it demonstrates a piece of the Emperor’s humanity that i think a lot of people overlook. The Emperor has not seen Horus in 7 years, only heard of the atrocities he has committed. 7 years of how his favorite son has been violating and corrupting everything the Emperor has built. Now, finally he has the chance to face his son, and even though he knows all the evil Horus has done, he holds onto the hope he can be saved.

Even seeing the broken body of Sanguinus, one of his bravest and most loyal sons, torn apart and crushed, does not destroy this hope.

Even as Horus cuts off his arm and inflicts mortal wounds on him, the Emperor holds onto this hope.

Speaking from personal experience, it’s extremely hard to believe that someone you once loved can turn on you for reasons beyond your control. Only when your last splinter of hope is crushed in front of you can the resolve be found to sever ties, and crush it Horus does.

Physically broken beyond all recovery, the Emperor watches powerless as Horus callously flays a Custodes alive for rushing to his master’s aid.

This is the action that damns Horus. No son of the Emperor could be so mindlessly, excessively cruel, and he is justly punished for it. Without lifting a finger, or laying a single blow on Horus, the Emperor obliterates his son’s soul.

Just picture that for a second. Horus is the physical embodiment of Chaos, and has killed a Primarch and nearly the Emperor himself. Yet the second he reveals his lack of humanity, his utter apathy towards human suffering, the Emperor instantly wipes him from existence without lifting a finger. That’s why i love that scene, because it demonstrates the Emperor’s own humanity, and also his utter conviction to destroy those without it.

Don't you just something quick and dirty focused on a specific topic? Just plain new to warhammer as a whole and feel out of your depth? Fear not! I have come to ease the burden and, hopefully, aid you in learning or remember what goes in in this conflicted and confusing mess of a setting. The key difference between me and other people? I give YOU, thats right, YOU! Citations to source yourself and double check to see that the information I present as well as my arguments are backed up by the setting itself rather than uncritically spouting out fandom wiki nonsense or heaven forbid a reddit summary. Even though the older videos in Warhammer Inquiries are terrible with their audio, rest assured that I am remastering the older episodes with new info as well as better explanations. For now, my main focus for season one is weaponry and armour and after that it'll be wider setting terminology you may be confused by. The best part? You can correct me at any time, either here or on the videos themselves, to point out stuff that I may have potentially missed.
