For the twins in time AU, I genuinely wonder what kind of people the young twins grow up into because of Stan’s/Ford’s influence. Especially if it takes years for the portal to get fixed.

I've seen the last '"g-d made you perfect" that I can handle, and it's led me to a realization about how I think of g-d.

I don't think we were made perfect. We were made human. And, if I'm honest, the only perfection in my mind is g-d, and that sense of perfection is what differentiates humans from g-d. If humans were as perfectly-made as g-d, I for one wouldn't see the point in following, believing, trusting, caring for, or loving g-d.

I guess for me, I see the ways in which humans alter the Way We Were Created that I really don't think it's right to speculate as to if there's a limit to altering our abilities or bodies. For instance, as a trans person, I've definitely been inundated with this idea that because g-d made my body "perfect" that I shouldn't alter it ever, but isn't that a dangerous precedent? Is it really so, that our bodies are magically made perfect, as g-d that to even tamper with the idea of change would be the same as cursing g-d? I really don't think that's compelling.

I love thinking about just how much g-d is placed into people, but I don't think it warrants restricting the ability to learn, create, grow, or change. Thank g-d that He created the ability to change!

I learned two interesting things about Far Cry 5 this week on Reddit.

The first is that, in the mission Special Delivery, you can see four cultists on their knees and with their hands tied being knocked around by two Resistance fighters. I checked gameplay videos and you indeed drive by them shortly after you see the plane on fire; they’re on the right side of the road. I had never noticed this and don’t remember witnessing a similar scene in the rest of the game!

The second is that the following NPC conversation (which you can listen to here)…

RF1: You know what really gets me? Cult leaders are usually always in it for the money. Just like a pyramid scheme. Joseph ain't like that. RF2: What's so unsettlin' about that? RF1: I keep tryin' to break this guy down into what he wants from people. If it ain't money, and it ain't sex, what the hell is it? RF2: Souls? RF1: Jesus Christ, the fuck's your problem? RF2: What? Ask a creepy question, get a creepy answer.

elona+ exists in a really weird design space, being a speed-focused turn-based rpg. the fact the speed stat scales high enough that the "turn" as a unit can mean anything from "an enemy attacks once" to "an enemy attacks 50 times in a chain, applying a stun to do it again before you can take a single step" is just so deeply, deeply interesting because of what it does to stopped time

stopped time is exactly what it says it is, and it's only as useful as the distance between the user and the enemy they're fighting. stopped time usually only comes in as an effect that freezes time for a single turn, so early on, when that distance is negligible, it's easy to wonder what the point of it even is

you get one free move without retaliation, without anything else being able to move, and that's really it. that's not useful when an enemy is doing maybe two turns to each of your turns on the high end

but as the numbers creep up, the actual utility of stopped time is really cool: a lot of fights actually do end up coming down to who's fastest, and stopped time completely negates that and declares the one using it "the fastest one, for one turn"
