dance dance! we’re falling apart to halftime!
(reblogs greatly appreciated!!!!)
EDIT: this is now available as a print in my ko-fi shop! link here [x]
alternate versions and commentary under the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
about the piece: this is my first time ever attempting to draw a back—and LET ME TELL YOU. I STRUGGLED. took me a solid 2 hours to figure it out—even then I had to go physically put down the iPad and go on a walk three separate times because I was so frustrated. the things I do to make fob fanart. if you’re confused by the pose, I originally meant for the figure to be laying down, but now it’s more intended to be as though the figure is leaning on something (most likely the headboard of a bed????)—although, the pose was kind of an afterthought as I really just needed to make a lot of space to add in the text (which, as always, is hand lettered except for the “dance dance, fall out boy”)
about the song: dance dance is one of my favorite fall out boy songs, if not my favorite fob song, but I think it’s important to acknowledge the slightly misogynistic undertones of the song. im not saying that the song is misogynistic, nor that fall out boy is misogynistic, but rather that the song was released in 2005 and as a society, we’ve grown in terms of how we speak about women in pop culture. a lot of media, specifically songs from the 2000s (ESPECIALLY emo songs, im looking at you “I write sins”) had this kind of borderline misogynistic tone that is not in any way okay (Im not trying to justify it!!) but was unfortunately normalized.
as an afab person, I love this song, I love this LINE specifically (“why don’t you show me the little bit of spine you’ve been saving for his mattress, love?” goes SO HARD for me), and I think my immense enjoyment of the song doesn’t prevent me from talking about how it fits into misogynistic culture (esp of the 2000s) and it does not mean i accept it
(but also, I don’t really listen to the lyrics of the song anyway—everyone say thank you to Patrick Stump’s enunciation)
anyway that’s it k byeeeeeee (and go stream fall out boy!)
p.s. I forgot to add my watermark so for the sake of me not wanting to go back and edit it in pls don’t repost with credit please and thank yew ?????

Yep that's her other crush.
Tumblr media
Ive had the sketch for this In my art book for a little bit I felt like digitalizing it today.
They know each other well, I'm not going to say how Shane grew to understand her cat form because of future spoilers for the comic But they become great friends and she has a crush on him. She's not very good at hiding her affection to both her crushes. She just wants to show them all her love and let them know she cares about them.
It's something she doesn't do for everybody. As you can obviously tell from the comics involving Harvey. I will make a comic involving Emily next but right now I'm taking a break my arm hurts
Edit: I forgot to put my signature and the watermark on it, please don't steal this and make a comic dub without my permission. Ever since I let a freebooter post my art on their account and they got all the likes instead of me, i decided to never let anybody freeboot my content ever again. You can only reshare on Tumblr because it makes sure the original artist gets credit usually. Otherwise you're not allowed to repost my content on any other platforms Because I'm not posting on Twitter or Instagram despite having an account there.

update on this: they miracolously edited my credits and linked the correct project site, so they DID see this post? Curious. I did ask for it to be not posted but I guess they overlooked the other post that came straight before this one.
borrelia  also left a good comment on this post:
also its already here for free? the repost does nothing but pull away audience from the actual site, therefore pulling ppl away from support/patreon links... sorry you are dealing with this :(
They are correct, as right now the super early access is sadly my main source of income as my job has a huge summer break and I won’t get back to it until september, so over the next two months I need to scrape by with my subscription members and the occasional commission. People potentially reading fancomics on the grabber site are most probably never seeing if there’s ways to support the artist, because they never even get to interact with them.
I’ve seen a comment on the grabber site*s GOTF page that just. appaled me.
Tumblr media
Krafter is defending all fancomics by posting comments saying the site shouldnt pull fan creator’s audiences/steal content. They got 3 downvotes.
Chaos Coffin answers this (two upvotes)
“Don’t listen to this person and keep archiving good fancomics. Tumblr, Deviant Art and Twitter are all blocked in my country and this site is a great way to explore new content. Archive.org has all the issues of GOTF uploaded too and nobody’s accusing them of theft. Because it is not. Nobody’s stealing anything here, there’s always a link to the author.”
First of all, I acknowledge that some countries are doing heavy censoring and blocking of websites.
However, the person brings up archive.org themselves. They know there’s an archive on a neutral website that is available to them that has all the pages available, if they want. Why is there a need to reupload them AGAIN? GOTF has been posted in multiple places, other than deviantart, by evan herself. I forgot the name of the site but she definitely had it up on some neutral small comic hosting page together with a bunch of others (pls provide link if u have it!).
And I also have my comic on a neutral free to use comic hosting site. There is No Need for it to be put anywhere else. You don’t need an account to comment or see the comic. My author notes and hidden comments and the way I upload the pages, they are all part of my intended experience. I put so much effort into my website, I transcribe all the dialogue, I add context tags to every page, for YOUR convenience so if you type in anything u vaguely remember abt a page, the search funtion will be able to find it.
In the answer above I said “it wasn’t a big deal”, because this happened to be before. it happened too many times before. But that was the beaten up and defeated me talking, because I couldn’t find a way to contact the reposter, again. The me that is exhausted of hearing of this shit happening to me, again. I have a watermark for a reason. I try to hide it to be not obstructive but I might change that.
Now I’m the me that’s irritated and annoyed. I’m not going to hold back for potentially hurting anyone’s feelings, I’m not holding back for fighting for myself.
Literally the whole situation wouldn’t be so bad if THE CREATORS WERE JSUT ASKED FIRST. You were able to pull all the pages from the sites, so you need to have had access to their pages. You had access to communication with them. You had the access to ask them if they were able to create a neutral website to host the comic on, because the website they use is blocked in some countries. A russian fan has come up to me asking if they can post a translated version to their VK account. They asked me and I said yes, under my conditions you can. And they did.
If the admin had come up to me about it before all this, I would’ve allowed my comic to be listed there no problem. I would’ve allowed all the issue covers to be uploaded there for discoverability and serialization accuracies, given they link to my own page to read them on my website, and that I get to chose the description text and how I’m credited.
I would’ve been okay with it.
You had the choice to use your mouth, but you didn’t.
You saw my complaints, but chose to ignore the one that mattered.
I’m tired of the many times I’m notified of yet ANOTHER person badly uploading my comic to youtube. I’m tired of seeing those reposts get so much attention and people in the comments acting like the person uploading the repost has any control over the comic itself. I’m tired of not being appreciated for the hard work I’m doing.
I’m doing all this for free, I’m trying. Making comics and maintaining the website and maintaining a LIFE BESIDES THAT is hard. It’s really fucking hard. So it hurts every time when I see people have the audacity, the disrespect, to treat the efforts of my HEART AND SOUL like fast consumerist scraps. I’ve spent a third of my life on this comic, all for NOTHING in return but love and air. I know I’m partially at fault for this, but I’m neglecting time and resources for marketing my commissions, I’m neglecting my original graphic novel, I’m neglecting applying to jobs, all so i can focus on working on THOAM, because it’s fun and I love it and it means just SO MUCH to me. I’m a very emotional person and this comic is an important outlet for me to work through and express that. I’m content just doing this for myself, I could just stop posting and be happy with it. But I know that some of you have a strong attatchment to it to, and I appreciate the heartfelt and honest support I’ve recieved for this series over the years.
But in the end I also do all this for people that act like art is just a magical thing that pops into existence, as if it didn’t have a background of hours upon hours of tireing labour. All for people that ignore the big “DO NOT REPOST” watermark, and repost it, because who cares about the artists’ wishes.
And idk if the admin will see this post too, maybe they will ignore it, I wouldn’t know. But I hope you’ll think critically about what you’re doing. I’d be ashamed of not having had the guts to at least fucking ask.
Anyways read my comic on https://thoam.the-comic.org, a neutral website that’s literally for free and you don’t need an account to interact with the comic.
support me by subscribing to my kofi. https://ko-fi.com/superemeralds/tiers I have multiple tiers with different perks. even just 1€ per month helps out a lot and you get to see all my art that i never post and if i do you see it first. For 1€!
thoam super access gets you the beginning of issue 8 already and you’ll be a great help in getting me pay bills and not starve. (for legal reasons I’ll clarify i’m not charging for the comic, I’m charging for ppl to see my process of how i make comics. the comic itself is free forever.)
If you want to get art drawn by me, check out my commission info here: https://shadow.carrd.co
PS: I don't hate or am against the grabber site; I think the archiving bit of this site is great. I think a volunteer based no advertisement no monetization archive of sonic comics is GREAT. Especially because the older comics have become extremely obscure and it's hard to keep track of what exists. especially for new fans that are JUST getting into it all.
I also think using the site to PROMOTE fan comics is a good idea, as long as like. they are not directly fucking hosted on the page as full on reposts, as mentioned above. <3 ok that's it from me for real. i gave my constructive criticism.
Hey I just found out about your wonderful comic because of the grabber zone website so maybe it’s not that bad…? they always provide links to the creators and their website is not monetised there’s no ads whatsoever which is great
im wrongfully credited though ;_; the username for me is wrong (i dont have a dash in it) + tehre's no actual link to like. me as a person it's just my name (ppl are lazy idk how many ppl will put in the effort to actually find me instead of just subscribing to the comic on grabber zone) and i would prefer if the actual website was linked, instead of the tumblr
and also just the fact i wasn't notified of it. the comic pages all have this big watermark saying DO NOT REPOST.................
like technically it's not the end of the world but the circumstances just annoy me a lot

genre: humor warnings: horror theme? ft: kuroo tetsuro a/n: my entry for @sugamintchocochip's halloween collab! and no i did not mispell kuroo in that one sentence, kenma calls kuroo kuro. and when i say threatening smile, i mean this. i'm sorry this is kinda bad and kuroo is all i ever write for but just take it 😔

Tumblr media
it was saturday and you, kuroo, and kenma were hanging out in kenma's house. how you convinced him to let you stay over was unknown. kenma was playing video games, kuroo was scrolling on his phone, and you were lying upside down on the bed, very, very bored. "i'm boooooooored. and also hungry." no response. you waved your hand in front of kenma, and drawled, "hellooo? did you hear me? i'm bored and hungry." kenma slightly furrowed his brows, moving his head to see the screen. "y/n, stop, i'm gonna lose." you surely did not intend to stop as you snatched a blanket to use as your "cape" and spread your arms while dancing in front of the screen to turn his attention to you. soon enough, the game music came to a halt, signifying your victory. you grinned smugly and kenma sighed. "yes?"
"do you have board games? and food? can you get some for us? pleaseee?" getting up, he sighed again. "fine." you pumped your fist triumphantly and returned to your uncomfortable position on the bed. what you didn't notice was the sly look he had on his face. he wasn't gonna let you get away with interrupting his precious gaming time that fast. sorry kuro, he thought. you're gonna have to deal with this for a little while. he slipped out of the room, revenge plan in mind. after all, it was halloween anyway. why not have some fun? first, he went outside to gather some pebbles, then threw said pebbles one by one at the window. he scrambled to hide because like any sane person, he knew you would peek out the window to see the cause of the commotion, and you did. "tetsuro, what was that? did you knock on the window or something?" he gave you a confused look and shook his head. "c'mon, fess up." he pushed you lightly saying, "it wasn't me, i swear!" clink! "tetsu!!" "i said it wasn't me!" at this point, you were sure it wasn't him, you just needed something to blame. "ngghh, i'm kinda scared." "oh, c'mon. it's noth-" the lights flickered. "AAAAGHHHH!!!" you clung on to his chest and he held you tight. he wasn't all that concerned at first, but seeing how shaken up you were made him think if he should've been. the light didn't stop flickering, and you two weren't getting any less scared. this was all kenma's doing of course. he had to make it worse by playing some cheap, creepy witch laugh he found on youtube, and you didn't even notice the audio watermark. you were too busy shimmying up under the blankets. coming to the end of his plan, kenma smeared some ketchup onto his hands and face. wow, he was sure putting more effort into this compared to any other task. scoundrel. his feet heavily padding the floor, he walked slowly to the room to build up the suspense effect. "the door, the door, the door! we forgot, agh, it's too late. tetsu, if worse comes to worst, i love you!" kuroo, eyes shut tight, arms around you tighter, screamed, "I LOVE YOU TOO, Y/N!" why did he look more terrified that you were? disgusted with your sudden confessions, kenma busted in, face stained red with ketchup. "aah. i am wounded. help." on instinct, you threw your pillow only weapon at him, as kuroo, unhelpful as ever, let out a blood curdling scream. then he fainted. he FAINTED. "wuss," you muttered angrily, walking over to kenma, already aware that your suffering was caused by his antics. you smiled threateningly, gripping his shoulders tightly, you were not happy. "do you have any idea what you've done?" let's just say, after that night, you were a demon in his eyes.
ps: kuroo stayed asleep for the rest of the night. lame.

I planned to take today off of the internet and I’m gonna do just that.
Because while there’s so much to say about a lot of this, watching people prioritize their access to porn in the discussion is hugely disappointing and tiring.
Aside from memes, there isn’t discussion about the rampant sexism behind ‘female presenting nipples’. But the porn!
Who even mentions the fact that this sudden crackdown was because of the discovery of actual pedo/child interactions on the site. But the porn!
Porn is highly present everywhere on the internet, and it’s actually exhausting as a woman and as a sex worker to have it lurking around every corner to the point that I couldn’t search tags for my blogs. But the porn!
Many sites explicitly advertise as being FOR adult content or art already, this was a microblogging platform. But the porn!
The algorithm is clearly terrible and not even capable of distinguishing what is and isn’t NSFW and there should be a discussion about why algorithms cannot be trusted to police content. But the porn!
And for as many times as sex workers have said on here that ALL TUBESITES MAKE THEIR MONEY OFF OF STOLEN CONTENT and do next to nothing to punish pirates- yes even and particularly PornHub- y’all are quick to suck PH’s dick over their tepid welcome post like you suddenly forgot that at the end of the day, the site doesn’t care about you. Oh but they care about your boners so it’s okay, right?
PornHub is owned by MindGeek which is a company that largely runs tubesites. Tubesites make their money off of advertising from site traffic, like any other free site. Therefore tubesites don’t really care who uploads what, and while lots of them have DMCA resources and will pull content if you report it, they do NOTHING to make it impossible to do so.
Let me tell you something. Adult content providers content gets stolen all the time because of the mentality that porn should be free, abundant and available all the time. And when I want it pulled down, I have to submit a form including my name and address. By law, this form can be shown to the party that uploaded my content as proof of my statement that it was not intended for redistribution.
Repeat: By law, I, a sex worker, a woman on the internet, must submit my name and address to the site that let someone upload my stolen content- the sites NEVER ASK UPLOADERS FOR THIS. I also must allow for my address to be shown TO THE PIRATE WHO STOLE FROM ME. The sites never ask pirates to prove the content is theirs.
There is software sites can employ that can search to make sure that uploaded content isn’t pirated. There is also software platforms can employ to watermark content so it can be identified if it is reposted. This is not done because the adult industry does not care about you, or people or performers and ESPECIALLY not women.  They clean up their image by employing camgirls/streamers to make it look like they actually directly benefit anyone but most of their money doesn’t come from that, the pay is shit and the site is full of guys that just record and redistribute the shows anyway. Because porn!
Let me ask you something: How many gifsets from porn have you seen on this site? Gotten off to? How many had source links? And how many real american dollars did you spend to support the people who fucked for your enjoyment?
Hmm. Kay.
Tubesites are perfectly happy letting people upload stolen content and letting it slip under their radar, and many of them or the people that run them also make money off of filesharing sites that recirculate our stolen content.
But the porn!
Fuck tubesites. Fuck pornhub. And fuck the incessant need for porn.

oh right! i forgot if i post something on the internet for myself and my friends to enjoy that means i want it to get reposted a thousand times without credit! silly me. if cursedcatimages had just added credit when i asked them to this wouldn’t even be a problem, but they’re refusing to add credit even now that they know i am the original owner of the picture, and that’s just as bad as straight up stealing. even if i did want this picture to be a meme, which i really don’t, that doesn’t give people the right to repost and then refuse to add credit if i ask for it. when i post pictures of my pets and fosters here and on IG, which is where that person took the picture from, my goal is for people to see cute cat pics or whatever and click on my profile and subsequently educate themselves on the importance of rescue/foster/adopting. and when people take my pictures and repost them without crediting me, it takes away the possibility of my pictures doing good. i don’t want to have to watermark my posts like a lot of foster/rescue IGs do because i feel like that takes away from the picture itself but if you fucking gremlins can’t understand why crediting someone for using their property to get internet popularity is important, then i guess i’m gonna have to.

Hello Instagram friends! I was a bit confused but, you know, kinda flattered when people started reposting my manips/edits to instagram. But all those people forgot to credit me, which made me sad, so I started watermarking my edits for those forgetful reposters, though I was always generally against watermarking (for myself). I figured at least this way people could find my other stuff! But then, I made an edit that wasn't very popular- it got zero comments here. I was a little sad because I thought it came out well and I thrive on feedback, but I figured the ship just wasn't very popular. I was super surprised when a third party messaged me- someone had reposted a blurry screenshot of the edit, said it came from ao3, then sent the edit directly to the actor in it. Yikes! Luckily the actor didn't seen offended. I guess that fanperson just forgot to take the 10 seconds to say "I liked this!" because they were busy reposting it, writing a caption for it, and sending it to the actor. So now my Ao3 works can only been seen if you're logged in. Hopefully that will help people remember to comment if they're going to be sending it around! And finally, I got another surprise when another third party messaged me- an actor in a different one of my edits had featured it on instagram! Exciting! The version they used had a giant watermark another instagram user had put over my watermark (obscuring it so it couldn't be read) before reposting it. I am sure this was just an accident on their part, and not a deliberate attempt to take credit for themself for something I worked so hard on. So I came up with a special version of my new manip (that I haven't even posted yet!!!) specifically for all these kind people on instagram that love my work, I hope you enjoy it!

Hello, there!
I just wanted to let you know that reposting gifs/graphics/pictures that other people have worked really hard on IS stealing! Even saying "credit to" etc doesn't count and is not okay. Tumblr has a built in search gif function that PROPERLY links back to credit the rightful owners and let them know someone liked something of theirs so much and used it for something like a fic! Plus, caratblr is extremely friendly and I'm sure if you asked, they would be happy to assist, help, and/or make banners/headers for you. What you're doing is exactly if people would copy and paste your story and claim it's theirs. Wouldn't be very nice, would it? :(
I'm hoping you meant no harm, as fellow content creators, we should always give proper credit where it's due and look out for one another :) I'm sure you don't want your awesome stories tarnished by the fact that you are reposting other's works as your headers and banners!
Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I know well that I should be giving credit to the rightful owners of the gif as the majority of the gifs I use are not made by me. I did have a plan to go back and reverse image search all of the gifs and find the rightful owners (I do have some links of the original creators of some of the gifs I use - such as tistory blogs) but I have not had the time to do so yet and I already have more than 300 posts containing uncredited gifs or pictures. I used to use the Tumblr gif function but there was not enough variety & gifs that I wanted in what I could find, so I branched out onto different platforms like Pinterest, NAVER, and different search engines for specific gifs that I liked and wanted as a banner for my fic. I am grateful for you to educate me and I will make sure to credit from now on where I found the gifs/pictures, but I'm afraid that a lot of times I won't be able to find the 'original' creator (since people also repost other people's things and spread it).
Again, I am thankful and I'm always grateful to recieve a lesson and learn from my mistakes. I am also genuinely sorry for overlooking it as stealing because I did recognize the problem a long time ago but I did not fix it and thought that not claiming the stuff as mine or erasing watermarks would be enough, continuing to overlook it as a problem. Since I saw many people all over Tumblr, Wattpad, and in social media overall using pictures that weren't made by them, I guess a part of me thought it was okay too. I also thought it would be too much of a hassle to ask every creator of a gif if I could use their gif since a lot of them had been no longer active. My mindset then was also immature and just "oh, it's not actually theirs because they just cropped & cut a video from seventeen so it's technically seventeen's" which was a super bad mindset that I forgot about but once had (Edit: I also thought nobody would care and I'd get away with it like everybody else and that it was okay and wasn't a big deal - so in the end, not crediting had become a part of my posts and I forgot about crediting. I also thought that gifs and fics were two different things but I don't want to come across the day I'm in that position where my work is used and my name is not properly credited).
Of course, I'm just a teen in the end and I'm glad I've had the chance to learn that those kinds of thoughts are NOT okay. As a content creator too, I understand where you're coming from and I will make sure to fix & recognize my mistakes and prevent it from happening again. Though i am sure I won't be capable of crediting everyone, I will try my best when time is in my hands.
