So not too long ago there was a picture floating around twitter of Wei Wuxian as portrayed by Xiao Zhan, only that he was wearing GusuLan robes. Many of us thought it was a photomanip or an edit, but we discovered pretty quickly that it was AI-generated

It got me thinking, and since I am training my back to sit up for a bit longer after surgery, I decided to sketch some robes WWX would wear post-canon.

My personal headcanon is that WWX starts out by borrowstealing LWJ's outer robes to wear over his own robes, and LWJ lets him but ultimately decides that WWX needs his own set of (outer) robes, which will still reflect WWX's unique style but with a more or less noticeable touch of GusuLan. So he commissions some for his husband.

The set on the left with the lotuses is an every day kind of outer robe; the one on the right is the one WWX wears when LWJ needa the Yiling Laozu to glare at people for him (tbf, if they'd ever swap clothes? LWJ could rock these too.)

These are so fun to do; I might make more, maybe also for different characters if inspuration strikes me.

Something just got me thinking...

Suibian is a truly loyal sword, it refused to let anyone else use it and did what was only ever heard of in legends and sealed itself away when its master died!

The sword is monogamous. It only connected with one person and no one else would do. No one else could compare.

Spiritual weapons have a deep connection with their wielders, they are constantly permeated with their owner's spiritual energy. They are, in a way, an extension of their master.

So, it makes perfect sense that Suibian is monogamous. Because it's quite obvious that WWX is as well. WWX only ever had eyes for one person, he only ever connected to one other person in such a deep, life changing way. No one else would do, no one else could ever compare to that boy that stole his undivided attention on the Cloud Recesses rooftop the first night they met.

It was always LWJ for him, just as it was always WWX for Suibian.

Like master, like sword.

Fic idea: Jiang Cheng was cursed to say and do what he really feels for a day.

He caresses Wei Wuxian's cheeks and says how proud he is of him. He hugs Jin Ling and confesses that he's the center of his world. He praises his disciples and expresses how happy he is for staying with him. He swam around the lotus pond on only his inner robes as he always dreams of doing. He sweet-talked Lan Xichen out of seclusion. He glared at Lan Wangji and told him to get lost.

Summary: Wei Wuxian groans. “Lan Zhan, urg, it’s so embarrassing!” He brings his arm down enough to look Lan Wangji in the eye. “And I’m sure you already know.” “Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji says again. Lan Ping interprets this one as tell the healer. Kay's comments: Short and sweet outsider POV on Wangxian finding out that Wei Wuxian is magically pregnant post-canon. Really loved the healer's POV and how he views both Wei Wuxian and Wangxian's relationship. Just really cute. The second chapter is beautiful fanart and the story is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. Excerpt: Lan Ping doesn’t know the details, but the gist was that Wei Wuxian had taken a tumble down a hillside and landed poorly. He’d sprained his ankle, taken multiple contusions and lacerations, but the shoulder was most pressing. Someone had tried to reset it without success. It needed to be popped out and then popped back in again. The trauma of the fall alone must have been miserably painful. Then, add a failed reset. Lan Ping always tries to prepare his patients for having a joint reset. They typically yell and then cry. Lan Ping explained to Wei Wuxian that it will take two steps, twice the misfortune, in order to settle the joint correctly. Wei Wuxian merely nodded his assent. Each step must have been excruciating, but Wei Wuxian hadn’t given any sign of pain beyond gritting his teeth and wincing. He’d laughed when the arm had finally settled properly in the socket, reflexively testing it out. “Much better!” he’d said, flashing a smile. When Lan Ping tried to offer him pain relievers, he’d laughed at that too.
