Team Lewis here, and I'm doing space travel, unless it just won't cooperate. I do have a few backup plans in that case.

I think the only time I'd written about space travel was when I wrote an AU to try to get a better feel for my 18th century prince. I gave him a tiny little spaceship so I could see how he acted once all the historical trappings were gone. But other than that? New territory, baby.

Yes. It's. Um. An English public school story of the old fashioned variety. In Space.

I don't think I can get away from "instruct the ignorant" with a setting like this. We'll see what else might arise organically.

It might just be set on a ship that's a little more similar to a golden age of sail ship than to a spacecraft. I'm a bit of a sucker for that kind of thing. I don't know that I'll get very world-buildy about it. I will probably just present the wonders and leave the nitpickers to speculate how it works.

But I'm 100% certain the boys are still being tormented by Latin grammar, even in such a removed and futuristic setting, and I am going to let them talk like my beloved late 19th century schoolboys, at least a bit. This is going to be utterly indulgent.

I don't have a plot. Lots of imagery and vibes and hopes. I am going to get exploratory the next few days. I need to figure out if this is primarily a story about a boy or a teacher.

Yes, I had story ideas for other teams. As mentioned in a previous post, I had ideas about retelling Tam Lin if i got Team Chesterton. I won't mention the others, because I might fall back on them in some form if schoolboys in space takes a nosedive.

No wishlists, just tremendous curiosity to see what you all come up with.
