Kinktober Special Part 10 (+18)
SOMEONE REQUESTED THIS AND I HAD TO. (OK so would this ever happen in canon? no. do I care? also no. this is fun and pretend on the internet idk)
The Crew’s Whore (Part 10) (+18)
Summary: You are the former owner of the Grand Line’s most popular brothel. Your powerful fighting abilities got the attention of the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He had asked you to join their crew but what would you bring to the team? Your battle skills were hardly comparable to many of the other Straw Hats… but you actually had a great skill. Your years working as a high end escort had prepared you to become the private plaything for this pirate crew. You joined the Straw Hats as their personal sex toy.
Pairing: Red Hair Shanks x Straw Hat F!Reader
WC: 3700 what the fuck lmao
TWs: unprotected sex, p in v sex, face riding, oral sex, teasing, fingering, alcohol consumption, hot passionate lovemaking idk.
— —
You don’t know how you ended up here, scared out of your wits.
Okay… maybe you do know exactly why you were here, but it didn’t make you any less terrified. Your captain once again got you into a life-threatening predicament, but this time it was one you had to face alone.
You take a deep breath and smooth the fabric of your red velvet wrapped gown over your stomach. You shake your long hair down your back and square your shoulders.
Your heels click across the strong wood as you go to cross the gang plank to the adjacent ship.
— —
(3 hours earlier)
“No seriously, I heard if you rub the mucus from the transponder snails all over your skin you look 10 years younger.” Robin said as she leaned up against the railing of the Thousand Sunny on her elbows.
“I don’t really think I want to look 11…” Nami said back as she picked at the dirt under her fingernails.
“Is Luffy back yet? I can’t stand the suspense anymore! I just know he’s going to blow us all to smithereens!” Usopp butts his head in-between the two girls as they watched the Red Force docked across from the Sunny, no sign of their captain yet.
“Don’t you think if Shanks’ crew was going to vaporize us they’d have done it immediately?” Sanji grunts with a cigarette dangling from his spit soaked bottom lip. No one thought he was listening as he sat on a barrel with you leaned up against it between his legs. He had a seashell comb in his right hand that he used to braid your hair.
“You make a good point… but I don’t think we should settle in just yet. He’s arguably the most powerful man in the world. We should be lucky we aren’t gore at the bottom of the ocean being eaten by mantis shrimp.” Your eyes flutter open at the conversation, you had been so relaxed by Sanji’s delicate brushing of your tresses.
“DO YOU REALLY THINK WE’RE GONNA BE EATEN IN THE OCEAN Y/N?” Chopper scrambles across the deck, tears in his eyes, and lands in your lap as you sat on the deck of the Sunny.
You pat his hat.
“Maybe!” You chuckle.
Chopper starts to sob.
“Alright who made Chopper cry?” Zoro comes out of the kitchen with a hefty bottle of sake in one hand.
“I was just being honest, love.” You say to the already slightly drunk swordsman.
“You’ve gotta stop doing that shit you know he’s-“ The green haired man begins to scold you.
“HEEEEY!!! HEY GUYS!!!”
Everyone’s head whips towards the source of the yelling.
Luffy bounds towards the Sunny and opts to stretch his arms and catapult himself onto the deck instead of using the gang plank.
Chopper hops immediately up out of your lap and runs to clutch Luffy’s legs.
“Luffy how are we gonna die? Is he gonna cut us up into a million pieces or-“ The poor reindeer snivels through violent sobs.
“Huh? Who? Shanks?” Luffy looked confused before he broke into a smile. “Ha ha! No, Shanks is my friend! We were just catching up! You guys are weird haha.”
There was a collective sigh released across the deck.
“Yeah he’s totally cool. He’s setting out in the morning. I offered to have Sanji cook us all a big feast, but he said he’s rather have y/n for the night instead. More food for us!” Luffy giggled.
“WHAT?” You stood up from the deck. “You offered my services to the most deadly man in the seas without asking first?” You storm up to your captain.
“Yeah? He’s nice, y/n! Heh heh you’ll like him a lot! I promise!”
— —
So here you were. You slinked across the deck of the Red Force towards the captain’s quarters, trying to stay unnoticed. You thought you were being inconspicuous until the door to what you assumed was the galley swung open and bathed your cloaked figured in bright light. Two men, drunk in arms, stopped in their tracks when they saw you.
“Oye! It’s the Straw Hat girl! She’s ‘ere for the captain!” The much larger of the two men said as he gestured towards you with a beer bottle.
The smaller man with long, dreadlocked hair ushered him along.
“Yeah yeah leave ‘em be.” He said as he held up his drunk crew mate to their quarters. “Hey, tell my boy I say hi, alright?” The pirate said over his shoulder as he let you pass the two of them to continue towards the captain’s room.
“Aye… Aye I can do that.” You say shakily.
“Good, now have fun tonight! Don’t hurt ya’ self!” The long haired pirate who bared a striking resemblance to a friend of yours called as he disappeared out of sight.
You regained your composure and straightened your dress before you continued to the belly of the ship. You walked down two sets of stairs before reaching a hallway with a singular door. You were given no chance to back out because the door opened as soon as your foot hit the bottom stair.
“Y/n, welcome.” Red Haired Shanks stood clutching a doorknob and waving you towards him with a smile. You froze. You hadn’t knocked. He knew you were coming long before you got here. Such power. But his smile seemed so.. normal?
“Everything okay, y/n?” He calls at you. You snapped out of your daze.
“Yes! Sorry!” You hurriedly enter his private quarters and he shuts the door behind you. It was luxurious for a pirate, but nothing over the top. He had a full bar with a loveseat on one end and king sized bed with red velvet sheets on the other. You had to chuckle at the dated decor, you were forgetting he was well over 10 years your senior.
Shanks moves past you after locking the door and heads to the bar. He grips a bottle of wine and tips it towards you in question.
“Can I pour you a drink?” Shanks asks.
“I-um, yes. Yes thank you.” You eventually get out.
Shanks carefully pours each of you a large glass of red wine. He hands you a glass and beckons for you to join him on the loveseat. He was so large in stature that you were in the corner with your legs crossed so you didn’t encroach on his space.
“My friend and your captain says you are the hottest little thing on the Grand Line… you have something to say about that?” He says playfully from across the couch.
“I-I’d say you’d have to try it yourself, captain.” You try to make yourself sound confident but there was no use. This man could pulverize you and everyone you love in five seconds if he wanted to… and yet here he was lighting candles and pouring you wine.
“Drink.” Shanks motions for you to drink your wine as he lifts his own heavy pour to his lips. You oblige and take a few large gulps of wine before settling your glass in your lap again.
“Why are you afraid of me?” Shanks breaks the silence.
“I-I’m n-“ Your eyes threatened to bug out of your skull.
“And don’t lie because I’ll know.” Shanks smirks at you from across the loveseat. “Tell me what’s bothering you. I have no interest in laying with someone who isn’t all here. I would just like to know what’s frightening you, little one?” Shanks takes another sip of his wine.
“Y-you’re just very powerful. I’ve never felt like this before with anyone… I-I can’t explain it…” You look down into your wine glass and take a gulp. You couldn’t meet Shanks’ gaze.
“I won’t hurt you…” Shanks gets up from his seat and you tense up. “But maybe we should get to know each other better first so you actually believe me…” Shanks returns to his position across from you, this time dragging over a small table and a deck of cards. “Let’s play, every hand you win you get to ask a question and the other has to answer truthfully. And drink, of course.”
You relax a bit and cock your head. You place your empty wine glass down on the table.
“You better get the bottle then.” You smirk.
Shanks smiles and pours the two of you full glasses. He then deals you your first round of cards. To your misfortune you lose the first hand.
“Alright then… you still think I’m going to kill you, don’t you?” Shanks almost chuckles as the words leave his mouth.
“Yes.” You respond immediately. You take a drink.
Shanks sighs and deals another hand. You thought for a moment if you should offer to deal the cards, seeing as it might go faster… but Shanks struck you as a man who liked to be in control so you kept your mouth shut.
“Listen, sweet pea, you’re worth a lot more alive than you are dead from what I’ve heard about you… So you have nothing to worry about.” Shanks says as he lays out his hand. “Oh dear it seems I’ve won again. Less morose questions, perhaps?”
You toss your losing cards back to the center of the table.
“Have you ever had a fishman?” Shanks asks.
You choke a bit on the wine you had just sipped. A smile spreads across the pirates face, his eyes glistening with childlike mischief even through his scarred flesh. He really was quite handsome…
“Sorry… too forward?” He asks.
“Not at all.” You chuckle after catching your breath. People always asked you about that once they learned of your line of work. . “Yes I have.”
“What’s it like? I’ve always been curious but never had the opportunity…” Shanks asks with genuine interest.
“I think you’re supposed to win another hand if you want to ask another question.” You lay your winning hand on the table and smirk. “My turn. Who’s your one that got away? Everyone like you has a lost love.”
“Oh I wouldn’t call it lost… they’re very much still in the picture. Someone I’ve known since I was young. I still have hope, in the end, but we’ll see. He’s just-“ Shanks explains as he deals more cards.
“He?” You interject.
“Is that another question?” Shanks playfully raises an eyebrow
“No.” You recall your inquisition.
“Good, seeing as I’ve won again.” Shanks collects the cards again. “Now, is the two cocks thing true?”
“Of course it is. But only for the shark fishmen. It’s intimidating at first, but when you’ve been doing my job for this long you learn how to handle it.” You smile into your wine glass cheekily before taking a sip.
“I have no doubt you excel at your job. It’s simply pleasure enough to get to spend the evening with a beautiful woman with such-“ Shanks’ eyes flick down to where your wrapped velvet gown was opening in the front, exposing your cleavage. He looks back up to meet your gaze. “Breathtaking features.”
You can’t help but giggle. His hungry eyes on you somehow made you feel more at ease… all men truly are the same. It’s incredible that they call it a man’s world when the strongest of them all can be tamed by the promise of pussy.
“Looks like I’ve won this one, Red Hair.” You splay your cards on the worn wooden table. “What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you recently?” You ask.
“I don’t get embarrassed!” Shanks answers far too quickly and defensively for your liking. You cock your head with skepticism. “Fine. Last week one of my crew mates came up to me in celebration asking for a double high five.” Shanks sighs.
You didn’t understand why it was embarrassing at first, but when you looked at his torso and were reminded he only had one arm you short laughed so hard that you had to bring your hands up to your face.
“Oh gods I’m sorry I shouldn’t laugh.” You try to regain your composure.
“No no I promise it’s quite alright!” Shanks grins and plays another losing hand. “It’s funny now that my bruised ego is healed.”
“So my turn again. When you’re with men do you top or bottom?” The wine must have really been affecting you to even consider asking an emperor such a question.
Shanks smiles again.
“Let me ask you this…” Shanks peruses his hand of cards, slipping them deftly between his calloused fingers. “If I take you to a candy shop and I say, ‘now you can only have the peppermint sweets’ how terrible would that be? You’d have to pass up on the chocolate sweets, the strawberry sweets, and sweets you’ve never even imagined. Who wants to live like that?” Shanks lays his winning hand down on the table with a smug grin. “Would you like to come sit on my lap, y/n?”
You nod silently before you finish your drink and set the massive wine glass down on the table. You rise to your feet. Shanks uses his one hand to pat his left high, spreading his legs so you could slot between them.
“Plenty of room on this side now.” Shanks winks as you sit down on his lap. He raises his right hand towards your face slowly but suddenly stop as if he’s realized something. “Can I touch you?” He asks as he looks in your eye. The sheer power emanating from his body no longer frightened you, but drew you in and made you feel your heartbeat below your waist.
“Yes, you can touch me.” You affirm, looking Shanks in the eye. You give him a soft smile.
“Wow… Luffy wasn’t kidding. You really are gorgeous…” Shanks compliments you as he touches your face gently to brush your hair out of your eyes. He was getting a better look at you. “Really just so fucking pretty…” He kisses your cheek before you feel his hand working at the tie of your dress. “Help me a bit, sweet pea? Wanna see all of you.”
You blush hard and fumble with your dress enough to spread it open, exposing your nude form.
“Absolutely beautiful…” Shanks coos as he slides his hand down your chest and cups one of your breasts in his strong grip. He kneads it for a bit and you relax into his touch. He pinches your nipple and you jolt forward, almost losing your balance on Shanks’ lap.
“Hold onto me, baby, it’s okay.” Shanks brings your arm up to wrap around his neck before continuing fondling your body. His hand finally reached to cup your mound, pressing his fingers flat against your wet lips. You hid your head in the crook of his neck and whimpered.
“I can feel you throbbing, honey, why didn’t you just say something?” He nudges you with his chin to prompt you to come out of hiding in his neck. “Huh? It’s okay. You should have told me it was this bad…” Shanks starts swiping his fingers through your folds, taking a moment to circle your clit a few times with each upwards stroke along your pussy.
“I-I just…” Lust had clouded your brain and you could no longer form a coherent thought. A few moments ago you were holding your own against the emperor in a game of cards but now you were completely helpless in his grasp. Shanks slips two digits inside your soaked hole, you gasp out loudly and your arms around his neck tighten.
“Oh!” You yelp as he tentatively pushes his fingers in and out of you, stretching you and working you up.
“It’s okay… I'm gonna help you with this okay?” Shanks pushes his two fingers into you again and keeps them inside. He pulls upwards on his fingers once and you instinctively squeal and try to close your legs. “Theeeere it is. Keep those legs open, doll, I’m gonna make you cum now.” He immediately begins hammering his fingers into your favorite spot.
“AH!” You cry out and your shoulders lurch forward, you slam your eyes shut, the sensation overwhelming you. You moan out as he physically pulls a wet, screaming orgasm out of you with his hand.
“Good girl! That’s better, huh?” Shanks coos at you as he pulls his fingers out of you and rubs gently at your pussy with his whole palm as if to say ‘good job, champ.’ Shanks quickly lifts you into the air and lets your dress fall to the floor. He sets you to sit on the bed and starts removing his clothing.
You decided this was something you could help with and start undoing his belt and pants. Shanks slips off his boots and sheds his torso of his jacket and shirt. You move to lay down on the bed, figuring he could shed the rest of his clothes himself.
“Ah ah ah, don’t get comfortable sweet pea.” Shanks scolds you playfully and you finally get a full view of his body. His olive skin was scarred but beautifully tanned, and his cock was so impressive that you noticed it far before you noticed his missing arm. “You’re going to ride my face.”
“Oh I am, am I?" You hop up onto your knees on the bed, making room for Shanks to lay down.
“You are because if I don’t get to taste this wet little cunny in the next few minutes I might die.” Shanks lays on his back and grips your waist to help pull you towards his face. “Now sit.” He yanks you down onto his waiting mouth and holds you in place with his arm wrapped around you.
“Fuck! Shanks!” You cry out as his lips latch around your clit. “Oh my god!” You lean forward instinctively and grip the headboard. You find your body involuntarily rocking against Shanks’ tongue and lips, somehow desperately chasing another high.
Shanks laps now at your hole, trying to taste more of you straight from the source.
“So fuckin’ sweet… No wonder they won’t let you go…” Shanks slurps messily against your cunt and moans deeply. “My gods, taste so fuckin’ good…”
You toss your head back and moan, feeling yourself approaching orgasm again so quickly after your last one.
“Yes- fuck- just like that, please!” You grind your hips harder onto Shanks’ face.
“Let go, cum on me baby girl, come on, you can do it…” Shanks mutters into your sex as eagerly devours you, wanting you to finish just as much as you did yourself.
With a final harsh suck to your clit, you release onto Shanks’ waiting face. He pulls off your sensitive bud but continues lapping at your folds, trying to taste every last drop of the essence leaving your body. Once satisfied from tasting you, Shanks pulls you down his body to sit on his lap.
He pushes the two of you put he bed so his back is against the headboard and you’re seated comfortably on his lap, wet cunt soaking his member pressed against his abdomen. He was thick and uncut, just the way you like them.
You move your hips to hover over his pelvis as you allow him to line his leaking cock up with your entrance. Delirious from your orgasms, you eagerly impale yourself on his cock fully and let out a choked cry. Shanks chuckles and pushes your hair out of your face to hold your chin in his hand.
“Oh baby that was so good! You took it all so good.” He smiles at you.
You nod and start to grind your hips onto him, your eyes falling closed at the delicious friction. Shanks leans up and starts leaving bites and sucks on your neck, he grips your hips tightly in his hand to guide your grinding on top of him. He plants his feet and is able to thrust inside of you.
“What a fucking goddess you are, y/n… fuck you feel so fuckin’ good…”
You were feeling bashful at his praise… like he wasn’t buried balls deep inside of you right now. It was clear from his languid pace and his attention to your needs that he didn’t want to fuck you. He wanted to make love to you.
You continue to ride Shanks and he nibbled and sucked at your breasts while continuously spilling words of praise and admiration about your pussy and how well it takes his cock.
“So good, sweat pea, come on and make yourself cum on me, just use me baby it’s okay…” Shanks mumbled into your spit soaked nipple. You whimper and move your hips faster, feeling your walls start to spasm. “Yes there it is, come on…”
“SHANKS!” You cry out the captain’s name as you fall apart completely on his thick cock. You felt completely boneless as the aftershocks of your mammoth orgasm wore off.
“Gonna fill you, love, just take it…” Shanks grunts as he obviously approaches his climax.
“Y-yes-“ You could barely squeak out, so beyond overstimulated.
With an animalistic growl, Shanks empties himself inside of you entirely. You whine and wiggle on his lap as you feel the floods of cum seep from your hole along the sides of his cock.
Shanks pulls your body into his by your shoulder and you collapse into his broad chest. He pulls out of you and lays you both of your side. After a few moments of gentle touches and pillow talk, you rise to collect your things.
“You’re not staying?” The pirate captain asked.
“You’re leaving port in the morning.” You replied.
“I know. I’m asking if you’ll stay with me. Here.” Shanks asks.
You smile as you throw on your velvet dress. You approach Shanks’ nude body on the bed. You cup his jaw.
“I am loyal to my captain.” You say with a smile.
“After all that, you’re still loyal to your captain?” Shanks refutes, sitting up in bed now.
“Of course. What good is a crew if they aren’t loyal to their captain?” You say playfully as you approach the door of the bedroom.
“Gods that only makes me want you more.” Shanks smirks.
“Best of luck to you, Red Haired Shanks.” You wink and you retreat back to your home ship.

Anyone else feel themselves wanting to ask someone, anyone, for help but feel trapped within your own skin. It feels like I’m physically trying to claw myself out of this ugly little shell but I can’t quite find the strength to do so, so I stay silent and allow things to worsen. But at least I know I’m not effecting anyone else, making them worry or whatever. But even if they ask me, I’ll say I’m fine. If they insist, so will I. I’m fine. im fine.
And then when it all reaches it’s worst I still do nothing. Am I even ill? This is all made up in my head. It’s for attention it has to be. I’m not underweight, im certainly not dead, and now even the scars are fading. I hardly eat and I’m losing nothing. I do nothing with myself aside from rot in bed, usually too stoned to move, until I start feeling shitty again. I should quit, but I’d kill myself if I did. That’s why I started. It replaced other, more noticeable methods of sh. Now it feels attention seeking. That’s essentially what this post is probably. A big bs rant about how “difficult” my life is when I’m just an idle loser with no interests or motivation. Work is completely impossible, despite everyone saying I’m lazy. I know I’m not lazy but what if I am? That mental block from doing anything, am I making that all up? I’m quite literally years behind in school. Fuck I shouldn’t even be there anymore. All I do is nothing and that’s exactly the problem and I know that so why can’t I do anything? what the fuck is wrong with me.
And I don’t have friends lmao. Jesus fucking Christ that’s so sad, but I seriously don’t. I have a couple people who I feel invite me along because they think they have to, but when we’re together for longer than a couple hours it’s easy to see the divide. We don’t share interests, they get annoyed by me, I upset them beyond belief. I don’t blame them, it’s not their fault, you can’t force people to like you but it really fucking hurts. I disappoint everyone I interact with. Friends, parents, teachers, even creepy guys on the internet after they’ve seen my face lmao. I’m not even good enough for them.
I’m not even interesting on here. Can’t meet people, definitely can’t hold online friendships even if one did start. I barely even know how to change the font or colour of a post lmao. The only times I’m messaged is by pervs or those fucking ana coaches which is always ✨lovely✨
Idfk im just rlly tired. Rant over dw. If you got this far I appreciate it.

i meant to post this like 3 days ago but it stayed in my drafts for way too long so we’re just going to ignore the fact that i’m way late 😭😭
day 5, 6, & 7 bc i have been busy af. also i totally thought that i b1ng3d and so i was avoiding coming on here but i just calculated the c@ls and it was just over 1000 so i kinda panicked for nothing LMAO
day 5: when i was like 11, i w31gh3dd a lot more than my peers. it was a totally h€@lthy w£1ght, i was just way taller than them and already had boobs. i didn’t know that though, and i felt f@t and hideous and like everyone thought that i was ugly and m@ss1ve. also, there was this photo of me on a binder with my classwork that my fourth grade teacher made for me and i was sitting on the swings, and my th1ghs were all squished together and i looked hug3 and i hated it. also like in general?? i’ve had b0dy 1m@g3 issues to some degree for most of my life. w€1ght was always talked about in my house, my grandmother openly talked about her d1£ting and feeling f@t and it made me feel f@t too, even though i never really was??? like i had baby f@t but i was never like. ov3rw€1ght or whatever? idk. i’ve had d1s0rd3r£d €@t1ng habits for most of my life, but it got worse when i turned thirteen. i was w0rking 0ut everyday to the point where i could hardly st@nd up afterwards, and only 3@ting “h3@1thy” f00ds. i was obsessed with being sk1nny and “f1t” like all my friends were. i’m a very 0bsess1ve person though (thanks adhd!) and i took it a little bit too far lmao.
day 6: totally. i think it probably has something to do with my being neurodivergent? like i think 3@ting is usually sensory seeking for me. or like searching for dopamine that i’m not getting from other things.
day 7: i think so to some extent?? i’ve l0st about 30 lbs since i r€l@ps£d last summer but idk if it was very noticeable. they’ve noticed me not 3@t1ng a few times and they ask me about it. i either lie or £@t in front of them and their susp1cions stop. they don’t really care what i’m doing as long as i’m healthy. but also they aren’t super involved in my life anymore so they don’t really notice.

the rink-o-mania argument is crazy because will hit mike with the “well what about us?” (love him for that) and mike for some reason thought he needed to friendzone will with “we’re friends. we’re friends” even though will was never alluding to anything romantic he just wanted to know why they hardly talk anymore 😭 like mike is there something you’d like to share with the rest of us because that was so unprovoked. it’s just funny because it’s somewhat canon that mike thinks writing your friend often has romantic undertones based on his response and the only way he’d think that is if he had feelings for will and didn’t want him to catch on lmao

runaway will. gimme 🎤
WIP Tag Game/Ask Game
I shall give a summary and snippet.
So basically it's post S5, Vecna is defeated and the Byers return to Hawkins. Everyone is at Hawkins High together. Willel are super close and so are Will and Max, the three of them are kind of a trio.
And Mike and Will were starting to get close again too, until one day, Mike started distancing himself again. (Elmike is broken up but Mike and Will haven't admitted their feelings yet.)
After months of Mike being distant, Will can't take it anymore, and he runs away. Mike loses his shit. Mike and Max set off to find him, and it's a Madwheeler frienemies to besties slowburn lmao. The fic also explores Will's connection to the Upside Down a bit.
Oh also it switches between Mike and Will POV.
Snippet from a Will POV section:
As miserable as he’d been in Lenora, it was at the very least a reprieve from the merciless teasing that picked back up immediately upon his return to Hawkins. His friends stick up for him, but honestly, the vitriolic way Mike defends him when kids imply that he’s gay hurts more than the jabs about his sexuality ever could. “Will’s not gay!” Mike insists over and over and over again. Will wants to scream, “Would it be so bad if I was?” but Mike is too busy reassuring him that, “They have no idea what they’re talking about.”
The ugly truth is that they do know what they’re talking about. They see right through him, just like his dad did. Jonathan and his mom saw it too, before he ever even admitted it to them. Mike doesn’t see it, or he pretends not to.
Mike POV Snippet:
“Woah, El. What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” he asks.
She takes a shaky breath. “Why- why would he leave? I don’t understand. How could he just… leave me?” she asks, and she sounds utterly devastated.
She’s taking it personally. Mike can hardly blame her, because he’s taking it personally too. He’s asking himself that same exact question right about now, but he tries to be selfless for a second.
“I don’t think it was about you, El. I think he’s dealing with his own stuff right now. But we’re gonna find him, okay? We’re gonna find him and bring him home. I promise.”
She watches him for a second, then sniffles and says, “Okay.”
He gives her what he hopes is a reassuring smile, and she leans her head on his shoulder. “You are a better friend than you were a boyfriend,” she says with a sly grin.
Mike scoffs. “How many times are you gonna make me apologize for being a shitty boyfriend?”
“Forever,” she jokes, giggling a little.
Mike wraps his arm around her and squeezes. “I love you,” he says. He can say it now, and mean it. He does love her, in the same way that he loves Dustin and Lucas and even Max.
“I love you too,” she responds automatically.
“Now let's go find Will,” Mike says firmly.

Dream tried to stop Wil from creating L'Manburg, Phil tried to stop him from blowing it up, BOTH value people over items and builds, Phil has said that they're replaceable but people aren't, Dream traded spirit for his best friends fishes (we kno he's not someone to talk abt feelings:[) BOTH were kind and selfless but used by almost if not everyone, BOTH were ready to be THE VILLAINS if it meant everyone else could live better after. ONE of them always had someone there, ONE didn't. Intentional?
aaaa sorry for the really inconsistent posts ,, im gonna try to post a little more in the next few days. i have a few things written up, so look out for them? maybe? for now, have this *gestures vaguely* thing ,, it’s kinda a mess but *shrug*
phil is such a fun character, anon, especially for all the reasons that you mentioned in the ask!! he’s a really fun character with a lot of complexities that go (sadly) overlooked by a large portion of the fandom, but he’s super cool even tho i havent analyzed him too much. hope you enjoy (and i hope my interpretation of c!phil isnt too ooc lmao)
tw: mentioned blood, injury, implied torture/abuse, starvation, trauma, mentioned death, prison arc/pandora’s vault
When Techno first brings Dream back from the prison, Phil doesn’t quite know what to think.
“I don’t trust him either,” Techno assures him, but there’s a flickering anger in the backs of his eyes, one that had emerged ever since he came back from the prison with the other man in his arms, and Phil knows his friend well enough to know that the words are empty in the face of the piglin hybrid’s particular brand of to-the-death loyalty. He shakes his head in reply, refusing to voice his thoughts for Techno’s sake, at least, but the look that the other slants at him suggests that he’s caught onto them all the same.
At first, the work is thankfully mindless; even if Phil has reservations on the man that Techno has more or less dumped into his house, he would hardly wish the clear suffering he’s been through on anyone. The first few days pass in a flurry of brewing potions, wrapping and rewrapping dressings, stitching up cuts and setting broken bones straight. The damage is extensive; Phil has to take more than a few breaks to just leave the house and breathe - he’s far from a stranger to blood and carnage, had received the title of ‘Angel of Death’ for a reason, but even he had never been particularly familiar with this form of cruelty. Torture was a level of violence that extended beyond what even he was willing to bestow - his hands may have caused many deaths, and the weight of each one would continue to haunt him for the rest of his life, but even those had the mercy of being a quick end. The wounds and scars that ripple over Dream’s skin, thin and stretched tightly over his bones with little muscle and fat left to cushion them, speak of horrors that were anything but merciful.
“I didn’t know they were capable of all of this,” Techno says, once, as they huddle of Dream, wringing towels in cold water to wipe his feverish skin. Techno’s hand reaches for the ribboning gold-filled scars that remain from the execution - carefully, Phil raises his hand to let his fingertips brush over them as well. “I mean, I knew he was dangerous and all, but-”
“I know, mate,” Phil looks back at Dream’s face, tight even in unconsciousness, at the darkened, hand-shaped bruises that remain around his throat, at the scar that runs over his left eye, clearly meant to mirror the same one that makes its way down the duck hybrid’s own face. “You said that Quackity and Sam were working together?”
“Yeah,” Techno’s expression darkens, eyes focused somewhere on the wall, seemingly very far away. He said that nothing happened to him in the prison, and he seemed relatively unharmed when Phil activated the stasis chamber, but ever since he came back, sometimes he’ll have moments, and Phil can’t help but - wonder. “Quackity does the dirty work, Sam gives him the way in and out, probably also the tools to do it. It’s-” he huffs a short, self-recriminating laugh. “It’s bad, Phil.”
“Mate-”
Techno shoots him a look, and Phil cringes, knowing already that he’d used the wrong tone. Even with the execution, Techno had been adamant to hide all traces of his own terror and fear away from him, masking it all with fury for Phil’s own sake. He knows, just from the way his old friend looks at the ribboning scars that remain sometimes, that he is far from as over the whole ordeal as he acts, but Techno never wants to talk and Phil never knows the right time to ask and they smooth it all behind plans and explosions and hope that the TNT can blow apart the trauma, too. He’s got a sneaking suspicion that the same thing is going to happen, here.
“As soon as we can,” Techno starts again, pointedly shifting his eyes away from Phil’s face, “we’re calling a Syndicate meeting to figure out what we’re going to do about the prison. Like- come on, man, you couldn’t make a more transparent abuse of institutional power if you tried, really-” he looks over, uncharacteristic uncertainty warring over his features. “If you think that’s good, I mean-“
“Of course, mate.” Phil’s voice softens. “Whenever you’re ready.”
‘Whenever he’s ready,’ as it turns out, is easier said than done, becoming even more evident when their charge wakes up from his days long spell of unconsciousness. The worst of his injuries have, under their careful care and the benefit of many potions, healed enough to no longer directly threaten his life, but the vast majority have quite some time to go before being healed completely. Being as the goal was torture and not death, most of his injuries weren’t made to be life-threatening, but rather to cause as much pain as possible - from the grimace that twists Dream’s face when he struggles to force himself awake, they’re doing their jobs.
“Hey, mate, slow down,” Phil murmurs, pressing the man down by his shoulder when Dream weakly tries to push himself up and off the bed, and his struggling only lasts for a few more minutes before he gives up and slumps against his pillow, eyes cracking open and seeming surprisingly lucid.
“Where-“ his voice is wrecked, and Phil reaches for the glass of water at the bedside as Dream coughs. “Where am I?”
“You’re at Techno’s house,” Dream’s eyes widen and then slip closed as he processes the information, a wrinkle forming between his eyebrows as they knit together. “We broke you out, after Techno escaped with a stasis chamber with your book. Do you remember?”
Dream gnaws on his bottom lip. “Um- yeah. I think.” His head turns as his eyes crack open again- “Techno-“
“He’s out, right now. He’ll be back in a bit.”
“Oh.” Dream falls back into the bed, strength seemingly sapped from the short conversation. His breathing stutters, then steadies. “Okay.”
Recovery is slow. Phil doesn’t actually find himself seeing the man very often; now that he doesn’t need around-the-clock care anymore, he’s moved back into his own house, letting Techno do most of the work when it comes to rehabilitating the escaped convict crashing at his house. As he begins to spend more of his time awake and aware, he brings a whole slew of new problems; Phil catches him screaming one day, blurting harsh, angry words as Techno reads, unbothered from the other side of the room, and he stops in his tracks standing awkwardly in the doorway.
“Um-“ he winces when Dream curses, smashes something against the floor, and then curls into himself at the sound. Techno doesn’t even flinch. “Am I interrupting something?”
Dream stomps away, face flushed, arms wrapped around himself. Techno raises an eyebrow.
“You lookin’ for something, Phil?” he asks, and the unpleasant knot in Phil’s chest refuses to unwind.
The episodes, unfortunately, don’t seem to get much better. Though he’s rarely outright violent, Dream looks constantly murderous, usually muttering underneath his breath about something or another while he stalks the grounds of Techno’s house. It’s not too long before Techno sends him out to work around the house instead of just moping within the cottage, which also means that Phil sees him a lot more - tending to a small farm behind the house, feeding the dogs, hacking away at mobs, and usually complaining the entire time. It’s unnerving, even as injured and unarmored as the man is, to see him walking around like this; despite his rather pathetic appearance, swamped in sweaters that dwarf him thoroughly and thin enough to look like the slightest breeze will knock him over, his eyes are flinty and intelligent and bubble with promises of revenge.
“FUCK!” Phil turns to see him slamming a shovel into the snow, stomping away into the woods, and his hands tighten around his cup of tea. Next to him, Techno shrugs.
“Nerd’s got a few issues,” he drawls, and Phil laughs shortly.
“That seems like an understatement.”
“He’ll ease up in time,” Techno sounds surprisingly confident, completely content despite the muffled curses that come from the woods next to them. He’s probably used to it, with Chat and all, but Phil can’t quite seem to find the same calm.
“I just don’t know, mate,” Phil shakes his head. “You sure having him around is the best idea? He doesn’t seem...stable.”
Techno looks up at him over the rim of his cup of coffee. His head tilts, considering, but there’s a small smile on his face that tells Phil that Techno, inexplicably, doesn’t share the same sentiments. There was always a part of him that was, for the lack of a better word, softer than the rest of the server for his self-proclaimed rival, a sort of understanding that Phil could hardly hope (nor would really want to) understand.
“Don’t worry, Phil, if he tries anything I can always just tie him up in the attic or something,” Phil huffs a small laugh, amused, and nods to concede the point. “And- well, call it intuition. You could really try talkin’ to him, you know. He reminds me of you, sometimes.”
The words stick in his head despite his best efforts, rattling in his skull when he tries to sleep, lingering when he catches glimpses of the green-clothed man stalking around their properties. He can’t imagine what would’ve prompted his old friend to make the comparison, can’t think of a single thing (besides their affinity for the color green) that would mark him as similar to the - from what he’s heard - deranged menace with a particular penchant for destruction (not that his rants and fits of anger are doing anything to correct that impression). Even so, Techno had sounded so sure when he’d made the comparison, the words offhand like he’d thought them a million times before, like it was a simple observation that held no more weight than commenting on the color of the sky. Phil watches as Dream lugs a pile of logs behind him, huffing at one of Techno’s dogs that comes to chase and nip at his feet and grumbling loudly before faceplanting into the snow. He just...can’t see it.
Days later, Wilbur comes to visit, a grin on his lips as he dramatically recounts his newest exploit: a nation by Las Nevadas, a supposed safe haven away from the glitter and glory of Quackity’s city; it sounds brilliant, it sounds lovely, and more than anything it sounds stupid, and Phil tells him as such immediately.
“You’re being reckless,” he rants at his son, wings flaring outwards and only barely noticing Dream watching from the corner of his eye, “What are you doing- picking fights with Quackity? Starting another nation- didn’t you see what happened to the first two you made? You’re going to get yourself killed, Wil!”
“Well, I’ve already seen what’s on the other side of death, and it’s really not that bad-“
“You’re my son!” The words are angrier than Phil would’ve liked, and he knows that he looks ridiculous and overbearing, criticizing the actions of his fully grown son, but all he can see is Wilbur’s face, slack with pain and grief, stained with ash and soot as his eyes flutter to half-mast in the midst of the rubble of a country he loved and destroyed and destroyed him in turn. “I can’t lose you again, Wil!”
Wilbur doesn’t quite storm out, but it’s a near thing, leaving with a clipped goodbye and leaving Phil seething on his doorstep. He spends the rest of the night pacing around the house in a sort of mad frenzy, wings stretching and folding over and over. Not for the first time, he longs for the sky, to feel the air through his wings and let the world fall into pinpricks below him; it’s this that leads him to the roof of his house, staring stubbornly at the clouds as the sun sinks down to the horizon.
“Hey.”
Phil startles; there, down below him, is Dream. He rocks back on his heels, seeming awkward, before clambering up the wall (Phil rolls his eyes at the ease with which he scales it, the feeling in his chest almost fond) and settling himself on the shingles at Phil’s side.
“Hey, mate,” Phil shakes his head. The fondness leaves, and the irritation that had risen at Wilbur’s words, earlier, comes back full-force. “Sorry- Wil came to visit, we talked. I just needed some time to think.”
Dream hums in acknowledgement, and they fall into a comfortable silence, watching as the sun dipping down past the mountains in the distance.
“You know,” Dream starts, sudden, “I told him the same thing.” He looks up at Phil, eyes faraway with old memories. “Wilbur, I mean. When he made L’manburg- I told him he was being reckless.” He shrugs. “I guess he never listened.”
Phil pauses, Techno’s words ringing in his ears. He reminds me of you, sometimes.
Dream looks surprisingly normal up close - face no longer reddened with fever or pale from blood loss, even the scars fail to really take from the boyishness of his face. He bites his lips, eyes falling away at Phil’s scrutiny, golden blond hair flopping over his forehead, newly trimmed to be something a little closer to his old length, at least in the front, the back pulled into a small ponytail. He’s young, and shockingly awkward, teeth worrying his lip, hands fiddling with each other, shifting his weight from one foot to the other several times a minute. He looks like a kid.
“He never does,” Phil lets himself smile, watches as Dream smiles back, almost like they’re sharing a joke. He wonders how well he really knows the man behind the mask. “Want to come in for some tea?”
Dream smiles wider, and something old and worn in Phils chest, knocked loose ever since he felt his son fall limp in his arms with his own sword shoved between his ribs, falls back into place.
“That would be great,” Dream replies, the words almost hopeful, and they go inside.

A Man’s Promise: Daigo Scratcher Event
Daigo time! Look at these fancy new cards (and karaoke Akiyama, who is the scratcher prize for some reason)
This one ended up being much longer and funnier than I expected, and we get to see Daigo being kind of cool!
Summary: Daigo goes to investigate rumors of Omi Alliance remnants in the outskirts of Kamurocho. He bumps into an old friend turned enemy and gets tangled up in the unintended difficulties the Tojo-Omi war has caused for a local elementary school.
<a certain day in 2006>
With the conflict between the Tojo and the Omi coming to an end, on the outskirts of Kamurocho, the root of the conflict between east and west is still smoldering.
Daigo: The remnants of the Omi Alliance are still around Kamurocho? Is that true?
Yayoi: Yes, that's the current situation as far as we've been able to tell. Even though things are finished, one group has rallied and refuses to accept the outcome. Daigo: Tch, those asshole...! Kashiwagi: Just to be safe, I've informed the clan members to be ready to move out war at any time--at least until this dispute is settled. I'd like to avoid further burdening our members with this.
Daigo: ....Then let's see how those assholes like dealing with me. Yayoi: Daigo, what are you planning on doing? Daigo: I'm going to smoke out those Omi remnants and drive them back to kansai. Kashiwagi: We need to avoid getting into a second conflict with the Omi. Daigo: Yeah... I got that. <Daigo heads out> Daigo: (Well, talking about hunting down the Omi remnants is all well and good, and they're supposed to be in Kamurocho's outskirts) Daigo: (But how the hell am I supposed to find the bastards...)
???: Aniki. Daigo: You're... Shitamura? (Tl note: could also be Shimomura or Shikukira or probably a bunch of other readings but that's what I'm going with. No clue if he’s been in anything else, I don’t recognize the name!)
Shitamura: You really remember me? Shitamura: When I heard my aniki had gone and become the head of the whole Tojo Clan, I figured you'd have forgotten all about me. Daigo: When you conspired with the other side, I was crushed. I haven't forgotten you at all. Shitamura: Haha, you remember stuff from that long ago? Shitamura: By the way aniki, do you think ya could put in a good word for me to join the Tojo Clan? Shitamura: I'm sure you can see that I'd be useful to you. Daigo: You better think carefully before making jokes like that. Daigo: Do you think I'd deal with a double-crossing man like that? Shitamura: Oh, is that so. Well if the Tojo Clan doesn't take me, won't that mean I have no choice but to work with the Omi? Shitamura: You understand the situation, right? Shitamura: There's still a considerable number of Omi remnants hangin' around Kamurocho. Shitamura: I'm holdin' my breath until the Tojo Clan gets tripped up by it. Daigo: What do you know about the Omi remnants? Shitamura: Who can say? Daigo: So that's how it is. If you want to join the Omi, that's fine. Shitamura: What? Daigo: Go join whatever organization you please. I don't have any right to stop you. Daigo: However, if you join the Tojo and betray them in favor of the Omi... Daigo: I'm destroy you with every ounce of my strength. Shitamura: Oooh, scary. Seems that you're the one tellin' jokes now. Daigo: It's fine if you think it's a joke... but it's not. Shitamura: Wait, where are ya going? We're not done talkin', right?
Daigo: I have to investigate the Omi remnants. I don't have time to deal with you. <Daigo leaves> Shitamura: Shit. I gotta get back on the right track! (Tl note: struggling here. 調子に乗りおってからに!) Daigo: (I've been talking to people for a long time, but no one seems to know anything about the Omi remnants.) Daigo: (Is it already that late? I'll have to make another try tomorrow, then. Hm? That's....) Daigo: Hey, what are you doing out this late? (Tl note: I very briefly thought this was the same kid as in Haruka's scratcher lmao)
Takashi: ...Who are you, old man? Daigo: You can call me Daigo. And you are? Takashi: ....Takashi. Daigo: I see.... Hey, Takashi, you should hurry up and go home, won't your parents get worried? Takashi: Leave me alone. Daigo: Well that's not going to happen. It isn't good for a kid like you to be out this late--especially when loitering by yourself, this street is hard to call safe. Daigo: So go home, I'm sure you have homework to do. Takashi: ...But, I don't want to go to school anymore. Daigo: Do you get bullied at school? Takashi: That's not it. Daigo: Well then, will you tell me why you don't want to go to school? Takashi: The event I planned just got cancelled. Daigo: Event? Takashi: It's a scratch card event, you could even win a prize. Takashi: I went and handed out scratch cards to all the old folks on this street. Takashi: If someone won, they'd get one of the rings or necklaces we all made as a prize. Daigo: So why did it get cancelled? Takashi: Because a bunch of scary old men are having a big fight in Kamurocho. Daigo: ....................... Takashi: If we held the event, we'd all get dragged into their fighting... Takashi: So, we had to cancel it. Daigo: So that's what happened. Takashi: All that planning we did? It ended up being for nothing... Takashi: We spent all of our free time after school doing our best making those scratchers... Daigo: ...But, the fighting is already over. If you held it now, there shouldn't be an issue, right? Takashi: We can't. Those scary old guys are still loitering around our school. Daigo: What? Takashi: They lost the fight but they said that even then they won't run away. Daigo: ....Takashi, which school do you go to? Takashi: Ochiyama Elementary. (Tl note: Literally "falling mountain" which is a really funny name for an elementary school) Daigo: (Ochiyama... that is a little bit outside of Kamurocho) Daigo: (Kashiwagi-san did say they were on the outskirts of Kamurocho, so are the Omi remnants hiding out at Ochiyama.....?) Takashi: Since the event I planned was cancelled... After all of our hard work........ Takashi: Everyone tells me that these things can't be helped.... but that just makes me feel worse.... Takashi: So that's why I want to stop going to school...... Daigo: (This kid.... I can't help but feel responsible for this.....) Daigo: ....Go on home for tonight. I'm sure your parents are worried. Takashi: But! Daigo: It'll be okay if you go home. Takashi: If you keep saying that I'll just go somewhere else. There's a lot of other places I can hang out.... Daigo: That's, uhh... Takashi: See ya. Thanks for worrying about me. But, I'm not going to go home. Daigo: ....If I go talk to your school and get them to run the event, will that make you go home? Takashi: Eh! Really? You'll talk to the old guys there so the event can happen!? Daigo: Yes, I promise. Takashi: Sure, I'll go home then! But don't you forget your promise, okay? Daigo: A real man isn't a backstabber. <the following day> Teacher: Principal, there's a guest here to see you. (Tl note: oh my god Daigo. imagine being this poor principal and the chairman of the local yakuza shows up like "hey you gotta run this scratcher event the kids worked really hard on it :(" I would die)
Daigo: Pardon the intrusion, Principal.
Principal: So, which student are you here about? Daigo: I'm... a member of the Tojo Clan's Dojima Family. Principal: T-Tojo clan...!? Daigo: I've come here today to make a request. Daigo: The event that the children thought of, can I get your approval on it being run? Principal: The... event? Daigo: The scratcher event. We've heard that it was cancelled. Principal: It's true that the event was cancelled.... But why are you interested? Principal: I think people like you have meddled with the children's event more than enough. Daigo: There's no deep meaning behind it. Really, we just can't forgive ourselves if we disadvantage children like this. Principal: Oh... So you're sticking to your own principles. Principal: You should know that the event was cancelled because of a yakuza attack in the vicinity. Principal: Do you think that by doing this you will end up causing us more trouble? Daigo: (There shouldn't be anybody on the turf around here. So that means it is the Omi remnants...) Daigo: .....I promise the children will be safe. So please, allow the event to happen. Principal: I can't trust in the promise of a yakuza. Principal: I can't stand to see a school become so noisy anyways. I was only doing the event for the board of education. Principal: Now, even if I run such an event, my evaluation won't get any better... Daigo: Oi, Principal... Daigo: Didn't you hear me? Principal: Huh? What? Daigo: I'm telling you that if there's any problem at all I'm here to clean it up. So there's no problem from you, right? Principal: O-Oh, right, that's what you said, sir. H-Ha ha... Daigo: Of course, Principal. I'm glad we're understanding each other.
Daigo: Well, I'm off. I look forward to working with you after this. <Daigo leaves> Principal: Hoo... What the hell, why me..... Why do I have to suffer through meeting someone like that...!
<A few days later>
Takashi: Mister!
Daigo: Ah, Takashi. Takashi: We're going to have our event! You really did keep your promise! Daigo: It's like I said. A real man never double crosses. Takashi: You're right. Thank you! Well, I gotta go prepare! <Takashi leaves> Daigo: Heh... I can hardly believe he was so depressed before. <Daigo's phone rings> Daigo: Hm? My phone is... This is Daigo. Principal: I-It's me. The principal at Uchiyama Elementary. Daigo: Ah, you. Have you decided to open the event? Daigo: I'll owe you one for this. As thanks. Principal: A-About that, just now a bunch of mean looking men just entered the school. Principal: They came in here to ask about you, and what we talked about. Daigo: What? What do you mean? Principal: I told them why you were here, and they stole all of the scratchers for the event tomorrow... (Tl note: rggo actually fucked up on this and marked this as Daigo dialogue when it clearly isn't lol) Daigo: All the scratchers were stolen? What the hell, who does something like that... Principal: The man, he was named Shitamura. Daigo: Shitamura huh.... And he took all of the scratchers? Principal: That's correct..... every single scratch card the children made, they're all gone, so the event won't be able to happen... Daigo: Shitamura, that bastard... What is he playing at...... Principal: That person did ask me to pass along a message.... Daigo: A message? Principal: He said he'll be waiting at Kamurocho's Batting Center... Daigo: Got it. I'll head there right away. <Daigo goes> Shitamura: Yo, aniki. Ya kept me waitin'.
Daigo: Shitamura, why the hell did you steal all the scratchers those kids mad? Shitamura: Why, to lure you here... I knew you'd have no choice. Daigo: What? Shitamura: There's a lotta people that have a grudge against ya. Omi Member: Hehe. It's about time we repaid the favor. Daigo-san.
Daigo: Seriously, you're... Shitamura: Yep. A buncha Omi men. Me, I actually decided that the Omi was the better deal. Daigo: Shitamura, you fucker... Shitamura: C'mon, I saw ya goin' into that Ochiyama Elementary school. Shitamura: And I got to wonderin' what that was about, and boy was I surprised when I got the story from the principal. Shitamura: My aniki, who's got a glare that could scare a cryin' kid into silence, is off doin' all this cause of a brat. Shitamura: Everyone's been sayin' ya lost your edge when ya went back to the Tojo Clan. Daigo: It doesn't matter what you think of me. Just hand over the scratch cards already. Daigo: Those kids worked real hard making them. Shitamura: Do you think bein' told soft shit like that will make me hand 'em over? Daigo: What are you hoping for, asshole? Shitamura: You're so cold to me. You really gotta let go of that grudge. Shitamura: For now the good people of the Omi want to get some payback. Shitamura: Of course, not even you can handle this number of people. Daigo: ....Well, we'll see. Shitamura: I'll let you in on something, as a final gift to take to your grave. Shitamura: That rumor about the Omi remnants hiding out around Kamurocho, I was the one who planted that. Daigo: What? Shitamura: That's why ya didn't find any Omi sniffin' around Ochiyama. Daigo: Then why is the Omi wandering around Ochiyama Elementary? Shitamura: That's just to extort cash from the principal. Shitamura: That principal is neck deep in gamblin' debt with the Omi. Daigo: So, the only one lurking around the school was you? Shitamura: Exactly. The remnants of the Omi was just a hoax to catch you off guard--and it seems like you, soon-to-be chairman, have fallen for the bait. Shitamura: Once I kill ya, my cred with the Omi will go through the roof. Daigo: So when you approached me about joining the Tojo, that was a ruse too? Shitamura: Yep, if I could get closer to you, I could get more info on the Tojo. Shitamura: The Omi pays top dollar for that kinda stuff. Daigo: Seems your backstabbing is alive and well. Honestly, I'm relieved to hear that. Shitamura: Why's that? Daigo: Since it was only a rumor that remnants were hiding, the Tojo can stand down from it's war preparations. Daigo: One more thing, none of you fuckers understand a damn thing about why I went into that elementary school. Daigo: So don't trust in your own power so much. Shitamura: ....Is that so. Shitamura: Though if the next chairmen died here, that would be a big problem for the Tojo, right? Daigo: Me, die? I already told you to think before you say stupid shit. Shitamura: Oh, well ain't you full of yourself? Shitamura: The Omi has a big grudge over the war. Think they're gonna be happy with a settlement? Daigo: I understand... It's on me to remind them about why the Tojo Clan is feared. Shitamura: Excellent, let's fuck this bastard up!
<EVENT START>
Shitamura: H-How the hell'dya win against that many people!
Daigo: It doesn't matter how many weaklings you gather. It's pretty sloppy of you if you're only noticing that now.
Shitamura: Shit! Daigo: With that out of the way, hand over the scratchers. Shitamura: What the hell.... Why's a guy like you want to help some elementary school event...... Daigo: I made a promise to a kid. I'm going to make sure that event happens. Shitamura: Th-That's it....? Daigo: I told that kid I was making a promise to him as a man. That's plenty of reason. Shitamura: Ha, hahaha.....! Daigo: What's so funny? Shitamura: ......I was small-minded in hinderin' ya, I think. There couldn't be more difference in the kind of man you 'n' I are. Shitamura: I wanna stop bein' a yakuza. Daigo: That's a good idea. Shitamura: The scratchers are stashed in this locker. ...Well, I'm off for good. Enjoy yourself, aniki. Daigo: Sure... <cut away> Kashiwagi: Pardon the intrusion.
Principal: A-And you are? Kashiwagi: Greetings, I'm Kashiwagi, member of the Tojo Clan. Principal: A-Another from the Tojo Clan... What do you want this time? Kashiwagi: I have something to deliver to you. <a soft thump of paper hitting the table> Principal: Th-This is...? Kashiwagi: 3,000,000 yen. Please accept it. Principal: Eh!? W-Why are you giving this to me...? Kashiwagi: Our next chairman is indebted to you for your assistance. Principal: Next... chairman? Kashiwagi: A young man by the name of Daigo Dojima. He came here, right? Principal: That fucker- ah, I mean, that gentleman, he's going to be the Tojo Clan's chairman..... Principal: Wow. I had no idea who visited me.... or that I'd get so much money........ Kashiwagi: Please don't trouble yourself with that. This money has no strings attached. Please continue on exactly as you were before. Principal: I-I just don't understand this... Kashiwagi: You listened to our soon to be chairman's request. This is the reward. Principal: Th-That was really worth 3 million yen? Kashiwagi: The next chairman, for some reason he really enjoyed that event for the children. Kashiwagi: Without you, he wouldn't have been as enthusiastic about starting out..... You understand, right? Principal: Uh-.... right, I got it! Absolutely, I pushed through anyone who voiced opposition! Kashiwagi: The next time you hold an event, the next chairman would be thrilled to take part. You have the gratitude of all of us, Principal. Principal: Ha, haha... Th-That sounds great! How could I ever refuse something like that... ha ha ha............. Kashiwagi: ......Around here, Omi remnants have been appearing frequently--which is your fault. <Music cuts out> Principal: ..................Eh? <Music gets ominous> Kashiwagi: You know they've been coming by wanting to collect on the money you blew on gambling and playing around. Kashiwagi: That's why, in order to collect that money, Omi have been loitering around the vicinity... Kashiwagi: Therefore, the real reason the children's event was cancelled, is you. Principal: Well.... that's.... Kashiwagi: Furthermore, you've been hiding this fact--hoping that the Tojo Clan might wipe out the Omi around the school before the cause of it ever came to light... Kashiwagi: But it didn't, and I think you've made this very difficult for us. Did I miss anything? Principal: ..................... Kashiwagi: ........Come now, to hold the children's event a dangerous group like the Omi was wiped out.... Kashiwagi: So it's all done and dusted... wouldn't you say, principal? Principal: Y-Y-Yes sir....? Kashiwagi: If something like this happens again... We'll have no choice but to bring down the hammer. Do you understand what I'm saying? Principal: O-Of course.... Something like this will never, ever, ever happen again, I swear..... Kashiwagi: Well, I'm thankful you understand things now. Coming here today was a good idea after all. Principal: Y-Yes sir... From now on I'm going to be on the straight and narrow.... Absolutely..... Kashiwagi: Haha, no need to go that far. ....Just make sure you don't cause problems for people again and you'll keep living just fine, Principal. Principal: Y-Yes sir... Of course....! Kashiwagi: If you'll excuse me then. I'll drop by to visit some other time. <Kashiwagi leaves> Principal: Hahahaha.... haaa....... I'm.... going to stop gambling..... <cut to the park> Takashi's friend: Takashi-kun. The scratcher event was a huge success! All the old men and ladies on this street loved it! Takashi: Yeah. Did everyone have fun?
Takashi's friend: Yeah, of course! Takashi: Nice! I better get thinking of how to make the next event even more interesting, it'll be so fun! Daigo: ...............
Man in black: Daigo-san, are we going to continue watching these children? (Tl note: BRO your own bodyguard calls you by first name???) Daigo: No, there doesn't seem to be any more Omi in this area. There's no need for further observation. Man in black: Understood. <Man leaves, Daigo gets a phone call> Daigo: Kashiwagi-san, what is it? Kashiwagi: I've just received information that a foreign mafia group is trying to expand into Kamurocho. Kashiwagi: Daigo, we need you back at HQ to start developing counter measures. Daigo: Got it, I'll be there shortly. <hangs up> Daigo: (It's just one thing after another huh... Well, this is the responsibility that comes with my position....) Daigo: (The job of the Tojo Clan's 6th Chairman, a role I'm starting to step up to)
<END>
Bonus time:
can you imagine what that principal is going through. I know he’s a shit head and kind of deserved it but it’s just so so so funny to see Daigo and Kashiwagi bullying this guy
the most important thing about the entire event is that the scratchers looked like this
please enjoy a faceapp by @majimemegoro as well that made me wheeze
finally he can smile and not look like it’s hurting him immensely to do so

Have you ever cheated at a card game? I doubt it. I’ve never been into card games enough to feel like cheating on them.
Tell me what colors you’re wearing right now? Red, pink, white.
Have you ever wandered around drunk with your friend? No, too dangerous. If we had to walk outdoors, we never go beyond the compound we’re in.
Are you longing for the day that you’ll be an adult? (If you’re not already) I wouldn’t say longing is the right word...maybe hopeful? I’d love to see the day I can live on my own, afford to go to a different continent, do stuff with my money beyond having a debit card lmao. I mean age-wise and milestone-wise I’m definitely already an adult but there’s lots of things I’ve yet to learn; I still consider myself young and naïve in many ways.
Have you ever felt like your heart actually stopped? Yeah, usually the moment I’ve done a fuckup - like sending a text to the wrong person, accidentally sending the wrong emoji, sending an email without an attachment when it’s supposed to have an attachment, etc.
Are you a fast runner? Not anymore; I get tired so easily, too. But I used to be in track.
What’s something you’ve vowed to never eat? Dog meat.
Are you good at holding back your laughter if needed? Depends. Sometimes things will just be really funny, lol.
Do any of your friends shamelessly burp or fart in public? No. Not that I’d have a big problem with it; they just don’t.
When was the last time you had a good cry? I haven’t cried hard in a while, but I did tear up a bit last week. Rough time at work and a song that had fit my emotions at the time came up on shuffle so I ended up crying for a few minutes.
Has anyone ever told you they wanted to marry you? No. Have you ever had a “thumb war” with someone? Sure, mostly with my siblings.
Have you ever been so unfortunate to suffer from a hangover? Yeah but ‘so unfortunate’ is such a generous way to put it I think lol. They suck, but it’s not the end of the world - I usually take a painkiller for my headache, chug lots of water, and look for oily food like fried chicken cos I find that helps.
If you need a job, will you take whatever you can get? Depends on my situation but generally not. I know what I can handle and what I would potentially be good at, and I’d much rather stay in those spaces. Even in looking for my first job I was kind of picky, but fortunately I got the company and position I wanted relatively quickly.
Time goes by faster as you get older, don’t you find? It does. I can hardly believe it’s going to be September again. How is it Christmas season already?
Have you ever had a panic attack? Yes.
Are you deathly allergic to anything? Nopes.
Have you ever had a mouse in your house? Yes, in our old duplex. There was a rat who never failed to show up, climbing up the same spot in our shared bedroom around midnight.
Do you know what you want for your dream house? I know I just want three components for my dream condo/house/whatever: a split-type aircon, a big comfy couch, and a large smart TV. As long as I have those three I feel like I’d be able to say I’ve Made It, hahaha. Have you ever seen the movie the Notebook? Tried the first ten minutes and it just sucked all across the board. I don’t think I would ever give it a second shot.
If you download torrents, what torrent program do you use? I haven’t done torrents since high school, but I used to have uTorrent. I’m pretty sure I still have it on this laptop lol but it’s definitely gathered cobwebs since.
If you go to school, will this year be different? I haven’t been to school in two years, but yeah my last year was for sure different in that it got cut short.
Do you know anyone who DOESN’T have an ex? Yes.
Are you able to count to ten in another language? A handful.
Is there something you know you have to do, but haven’t done it yet? Hahaha yes but they’re all work related and it’s 10:45 PM so those can fuck off until tomorrow.
Is anyone you know really religious? A lot of people around me are; and it would typically be a surprise to encounter someone who isn’t because everyone here is assumed to be Catholic or some type of Christian.
Can you sing? I cannot.
Have you ever read “Gone With the Wind”? I have the book and have read a significant portion of it, but have never finished. I’ve watched the movie countless times, though.
Are your eyebrows naturally thick? Yeps.
Have you ever attempted to cut your own hair? Just my bangs.
Has speaking in front of people ever made you sick? No, I’ve always been fine with it. There’s a part of me that enjoys the thrill that comes with it, I think; I realized it when I got entered into an impromptu speech competition and was surprised that my mouth just kinda did all the work naturally lol. I like to think my love for wrestling has been a big part of why I’ve taken a liking to public speaking.
Have you ever wanted to tell someone how you felt, but never did? Sure. This is a vague situation that’s applicable in so many ways haha, so I’m sure this has happened many times.
What was the last movie that made you teary-eyed? Idk, I haven’t watched any movies recently.
Do you check your email daily? I have to, it’s part of my work.
Have you ever breathed in helium? Nopes.
Do you try to be confident and positive about your future? Yeah, and I am.
When was the last time you felt disappointed in yourself? Earlier when I had a work booboo.
Have you ever owned a garden? Nope.
Who was the last person to text you? I think it was Liara asking me where I was since we had to meet up at the mall yesterday.
Have you had two friends that absolutely hated each other? It was one-sided hate. My ex despised every guy friend I had.
Do you ever find yourself trying to be the referee amongst your friends? Referee of what? I’m not sure what this entails but I have definitely served as the mom/leader more recently; like if we wanted to have a night out I’ll usually be the one to pull up spots to consider, organize the schedule, figure out who’s picking up who and from where, things like that.
Has a laptop ever burned your legs? Not burned - I wouldn’t let a laptop stay on my legs that long if I was already feeling such a level of discomfort. But yeah, my laptop regularly heats up now and that’s because it’s already a bit old and the battery isn’t at its optimal performance anymore. Then again I only ever take surveys on here and watch BTS videos so as long as they can do both jobs then I have no complaints.
Do you know anyone who has a scar through their eyebrow? Heyyyy, I have it. Some distant cousin hurled a glass jar at me when we were kids. The sick fuck was actually targeting my left eye but he missed. I have never seen him since the incident because my mom refuses to be in any function with him in it and tbh I’m not against that. Who was the last person to flip you off? Can’t remember.
Are you doing anything the day after tomorrow? Counting down the hours til the day is over.
Anyone’s birthday coming up soon? My mom’s and sister’s but those aren’t til next month.
Would you ever wear fake eyelashes? If I absolutely had to, like if it was for a formal photoshoot then yeah whatever. I don’t find them necessary though.
Do you make the effort to smile at people? Yeah, as long as I don’t come off as creepy doing so lmao.
Are you good at following directions? No I’m awful. I need written instructions every time because otherwise my memory always fucks me over and I forget everything as soon as it’s relayed to me.
Have you ever just screamed really loud in an attempt to feel better? I do that a lot in the middle of my shifts.
Are you in any way, still a child at heart? Sure.
Quality triumphs over quantity, correct? For me it does, for the most part.
Have you ever danced when there was no music playing? Sure.
Do you have someone that you can just act a fool with and not care? Angela.
From where you’re sitting, can you touch a wall? Nopes.
Have you received a text today that made you go “wtf”? I receive lots of messages from my clients that make me go like this every day, if not every hour.
When at a restaurant, do you put your napkin on your lap? Not usually at restaurants but if I were at a formal-ish occasion, like a birthday party, debut, family dinner, etc I would.
Are you even feeling the least bit tired? I am. I need to go to bed soon since I have an early calltime tomorrow.
Is there currently any caffeine or alcohol in your system? Caffeine, yes.
Do you prefer electric or manual pencil sharpeners? I’ve never used an electric sharpener but I don’t really care. I rarely use pencils anyway.
Are your biceps at all noticeable? Nope.
Have you ever seen a walrus? Once or twice, I think.
When it comes to dropping food, do you believe in the 10 second rule? 5 seconds, and yes.
If given the opportunity, would you ride on a camel? Nah. I’d pose beside one, but wouldn’t ride one.
Do you believe that cellphones actually do cause cancer? Idk. I honestly never cared to know.
When people you know cry, does it make you feel like crying too? No.
Were you single last Valentine’s Day? Yes. Do you tend to jump to conclusions? Sure, sometimes.
Are you good at remembering your friends’ birthdays? Yep.
Is there something you need to do, that you’re trying to avoid doing? Yes.

life update ☁️
y’all don’t even know the half of it, so bare with me. 🙂
So
if everyone didn’t know, my boyfriend & I moved from Ohio to Florida to live with our friends on May 27th. our roommates are a couple as well, I’m just going to call them M & Z. things went pretty well the first month! M & I were BEST friends, drank coffee every morning while the guys were at work. had amazingly deep & intense talks. got absolutely stoned & drunk together. I loved her & I still do! I’m going to post a beach video before I move on.
anyway,
a month & a half went by & some stupid arguments happened that I’m not even going to get into 🙃 on July 14th, me, M & Z and a few other friends went to a concert/rave in Tallahassee. We went without my boyfriend. Big mistake. Z thought it would be a good idea to sexually grope me in the crowd, & if anyone knows how crowded a rave/concert can get, you’d understand how hard it was to get away from him. he grabbed my bum a couple times all while his girlfriend was standing next to us.. & then continued to give me a thumbs up 👍🏻 to ask if it was okay. I shook my head no & he then knew he fucked up. I’ll post a pic of me from the rave, it was really fun other than that & I looked so cute 🥺
Moving along,
I felt horrible but didn’t want to start a huge fight when we got home at 3 am, so I just went to bed to give myself some time to think about how & when I was going to tell M & my boyfriend.
The next morning it was the first thing I thought about. I felt guilty & ashamed. I couldn’t hold it in anymore.. I was hoping to get some alone time with my boyfriend to tell him. Luckily we had to go to the store that day so I told him on the ride there. He obviously freaked out & we immediately came up with a game plan to leave. We had no where else to go but I didn’t want to stay there any longer.
we arrived home & wasted no time, we broke the news to my best friend & packed our things. I’m very surprised, between M & my boyfriend, that Z didn’t end up dead lmao. but we all sorta went our separate ways.
We had to live in our car for a few days, but now we’ve been staying in a hotel for the past week & a half, waiting for my boyfriend’s boss to find us an apartment. we’ve been hardly surviving & had to wash our clothes in the bathtub & iron them dry but we’re here lmao ! Besides, we have weed & each other 😌
the sad part is
that I’ve had no motivation to start practicing my craft again. no energy. I feel like the universe hasn’t had our back lately & I hate that feeling. If anyone has any words of encouragement please reach out to me. I’m struggling heavily. Luckily M still loves me & we’ve gotten together a couple times since it happened but of course we aren’t like we use to be. & yes, she stayed with Z.. another thing that breaks my heart. 😞
Concluding...
I’m pretty tired & cold & I just want to cuddle with my blanket. Also my phone is starting to glitch because I’ve typed so much lmao. Thanks for reading guys 🥺luv you!

Your prompts are amazing, may I have a MC, who loves gardening and wants to live in a fairy tale-like cottage surrounded by nature, they are even saving money, however they are willing to give up this dream if it means they can be with RFA+V?
awe, sure! though not my style, i find the cottage-core aesthetic so sweet, and can really see the appeal of this kind of lifestyle ^^
RFA + MC who loves gardening and wants to live in a fairy tale like cottage:
Yoosung:
* Let's be real, when MC describes their dream to him he...doesn't see the appeal
* He loves the city, the amenities that come with living here-most of all the wi-fi, lol, but also the comforts of walking down the street to a convenience store, everything he needs within reach
* Yet...when he sees the way MC's eyes light up at the thought of living this way, how they keep bringing leafy plants and vibrant flowers into their shared apartment, making it into their own little magical place, he can't help but indulge. Would it really be so bad, to live a little further away from the city?
* He's cuddling with MC one day on the couch, when he brings up the topic
* "I was thinking...if we start saving up now, get a fixer-upper cottage for cheap and work on it, I can get a car to drive to and from work-I think we can make it work. Your-your dream, I mean."
* And the smile MC gives him? Makes all the effort they put into this plan worth it.
Zen:
* Oof, Zen..he'd be so split when thinking of MC's cottage dream.
* He wants to give them the world, and for him, these aren't just empty words. If MC asked him for the moon he'd find a way to bring it to them.
* Besides, he sees the appeal of this kind of a life. Being able to wake up every morning, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, no more sounds of motorcycles outside waking him up in the middle of the night, the view of a beautiful garden, grown and tended to by MC greeting him each morning...yeah, he sees the appeal.
* On the other hand, it's not so easy to just pack up their life and move into a cottage. He still has to be in the city every day for filming and practice, has to attend meetings and meet + greets...he could use the motorcycle to travel, but that'd hardly be convenient for them both.
* So he makes a decision.
* One day he comes home, twirling a set of keys between his fingers.
* He'd sold his motorcycle, bought a car-big enough to be able to fit a bunch of their belongings in the back, since a lot they'd be selling, buying new ones together to furnish their new home.
* It's not that he ever felt forced to do this-he just...knew it was time to take the next step.
* And lo and behold, only a year later, he wakes up every morning, the view outside the bedroom window-his and MC's bedroom, being the sight of the garden MC has been tending, MC sleeping quietly besides him. He wouldn't trade this for the world.
* ((Also I can definitely see him having a dog?? It'd be so cute, him coming back home from work to be greeted by his beloved MC and a big fluffy doggo jumping on him with joy ;u;))
Jaehee:
* YES YES YES
* At first she's hesitant-living in the city's all she's ever known, and what MC dreams of sounds...well, just like a dream. Too good to be true.
* Where would they find a cottage? How far from the city would it be? What's even the price range for one?!
* Yet she's so open to the idea-they've already pretty much made Jaehee's balcony a mini-garden, and she loves tending to it as much as MC so...if they were to have a garden, perhaps a vegetable patch in the back, MC's favorite flowers at the front of the house...being able to cuddle in front of a fireplace, living in nature, away from the hectic life in the city...would it be so bad?
* It doesn't take long for her to start looking up houses they could move into, imagining how the shared space between her and MC would be like, smiling at the thought of it-their space, not 'Jaehee's aparmtent that MC now lives in too'-she loves the sound of it much better than this.
* Soon they find the perfect space-a cozy home, further away from the city-in fact they move besides a smaller city, something between a city and a village, really, just far away enough to feel secluded, yet close enough to be able to walk to town each morning.
* They're quick to open up a coffee shop in town, a small cozy space usually frequented by locals, and the occasional passer-by who's travelling through the town. Oftentimes the rest of the RFA will visit them, and well-it's everything both MC and Jaehee could've dreamt of.
Jumin:
* Jumin...he's a little confused, but he's got the spirit
* When MC opens up to him, describes their dream home, he hums. "We can buy a cottage, visit it whenever you want-have someone tending the garden when we're not there so it doesn't wither"
* MC appreciates the sentiment but...it's not what they want. They explain to him that it's not the home that matters, so much as the lifestyle. They want to tend to the garden, want to grow their own vegetables and produce, want to be able to live off the land, keep the busy city lifestyle at bay-not to bar it completely, obviously, just...distance themselves from it.
* Jumin tries to understand, he really does, but for someone who only occasionally goes to a grape farm to relax and then come back to his usual routine it's not easy. It sounds far too idealistic...and in Jumin's case, it is. He would love nothing more than to live in a cottage with MC, but they both know with his work, that's far from feasible.
* He hates how easily MC agrees, how they seem so okay with letting go of their dream-all for Jumin, he...he certaintly doesn't feel like he deserves it. They reassure him that he does, that they love him and just want to be with him, regardless of the where, but still, he can't help but feel bad, wanting to offer to MC everything they could ever ask for.
* Eventually they come to a compromise; they buy a cottage together, with plenty of garden space for MC to work their magic on, where they'll spend all of their free time together. MC refuses to go there when Jumin won't be able to join them, and it warms his heart, to know they want to share this dream, this joy with him...so he does his best to get as much free time as possible (even when poor Jaehee begs him not to lmao)
Seven:
* Um??? Y'all I think that'd be his dream too???
* I know we talk about Saeran a lot and obviously, with Saeran there's no question that he'd be 100% down for this, but Seven...he wants a place to call home, a cozy place for him and MC where he can lay down roots, and I feel like, after getting away from his line of work, he'll want less to do with technology, probably will want to keep his home a little 'smart-less'. No need for talking doors and fancy security systems, not anymore.
* Not to say he'd go completely off the grid-I'm sure that even if the two move into a secluded cottage, he'll still find a way to secure the perimeter, still wary from his past, still afraid of what might come to catch up to him. Plus...he'd definitely have an office/gaming room in there lol, definitely would find a way to get the fastest Wi-fi available even in the countryside.
* But he'd love to learn about gardening, would create fun gadgets to help MC with watering and caring for their plants. I can absolutely picture it, him crouched down over a small growing bud in the dirt, pure joy on his face as he turns to face MC with a proud grin saying 'Look! I planted this one and it's growing!'
* Just. A homey life with Seven. AAAAA :')
V/Jihyun:
* Listen. Listen I know I'm biased towards him, BUT picture this:
* MC and V buy a fixer-upper of a cottage; it's in a state of disrepair, the wood moulded in places, no electricity nor running water connected to it, what was once a garden is now a dry mess of twigs and dirt-
* But they both look at each other, smile, and know-this is the one for them.
* Each venture into the cottage is like a date, laughing as they pull out planks of wood, replacing them with new ones, trying their hand at working out the electric panel themselves-poor Jihyun tries his best but eventually gives up, sighs, and with slumped shoulders calls Seven-who needs an electrical company when you got a tech genius of a friend?
* It's a slow run, but soon the fundamentals are fixed, the walls are painted, the wood is clean and solid-MC takes care of the most work concerning the garden, reviving it back to life. While at first they just clean the mess and lay new dirt, they soon see the fruit of their labor grow as buds spring to life, as flowers they planted bud, a climbing rose latching onto the side of the house.
* Eventually it's not a house, but a home, the way the sunrays hit through the window-panes, how little dust particles dance in the sunlight; it's the exact opossite of a minimalistic house, there's trinkets in every available surface, the top of the fireplace is littered with things the two of them have collected during trips and travels-ranging from weird-looking sea shells to gorgeously crafted souveneirs, photos of them and their loved ones adorning the walls. There's always a messy blanket or two draped over the couch, from the late nights they spend cuddling and reading or just chatting with one another. The kitchenette has a whole rack full of spices, a myriad of plants on the windowsill-most are herbs used for cooking, ones that Jihyun still has a hard time differentiating between-it's not uncommon that he'll put mint instead of thyme into his cooking, still...it tastes good, because it's cooked with love, and care.

When Jungkook is fifteen years old, he arrives at Camp Half Blood with pennies in his pockets, one Kim Taehyung on his back, and monsters on his tail. There are all kinds of creatures that have been following him for weeks—some with wings, some with clubs, but all with the intent of murder in their eyes as they chase Jungkook up the hill. Taehyung had warned him about this happening, that starting this journey would attract lots of unwanted attention from lots of dangerous half-breed monsters. Something to do with Jungkook’s scent, whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean.
In the beginning, Jungkook hadn’t known what to expect, hadn’t known what Taehyung meant by strange creatures and a camp just for him. Even right now, as he is running as quickly as his legs can take him with his lungs feeling like it’s about to burst—he doesn’t really understand.
What he does understand is that he has been alone his entire life. With a childhood filled with no father and a frightful mother, Jungkook has grown up spending time by himself in the company of his own thoughts and emotions. With such a strange (and lacking) family dynamic, it exposed him to lots of bullying and snide comments from peers, most commonly seen during school or walks home. The first half of Jungkook’s childhood is defined by this—by the teasing for being different, for failing classes, for being awkward and shy, for never knowing his place. The second half of Jungkook’s childhood is filled with sleeping on the streets, with stealing food at convenience stores, on how he’s been truly alone since he was thirteen.
That is, until Kim Taehyung corners him at the midnight strike of his fifteenth birthday—which leads the two of them to this current moment.
Jungkook doesn’t understand much right now. All he knows is that he needs to run.
As Jungkook approaches the top of the hill, he sees a group of people surrounding an archway. They’re all bundled up in gears of shields and swords, and each of them turn towards the boys as the monster thudding grows louder and Jungkook’s calls become more clear.
Half of the group near the archway break off, immediately making their way towards Jungkook and Taehyung. There are a few questions thrown here and there, before the main objective is just to make sure the boys get to safety. Taehyung’s weight gets distributed between Jungkook and another person, and together the bigger group makes their way across the hill. They cross a tall pine tree that Jungkook hardly notices, because he’s completely out of breath, wounded across his entire body, with legs that feel like jello.
Taehyung’s weight shifts entirely to the other person as Jungkook trips and falls to his knees. Quickly, Jungkook whirls around so his butt and his arms are on the ground. With his eyes directed towards the hill, his heart crawls up his throat as he sees the monsters making their way up towards him. His body moves before his mind does, his arms moving him closer towards the archway.
Someone settles themselves right behind him. “Woah, hey.” Your voice is soft, your hand between his shoulders is comforting. “You’re okay, you’re safe now.”
“B-But!” Jungkook stammers, pointing shakily towards the creatures now growing closer and closer to everyone. “Those monsters! They’re coming!”
As soon as he says that, the monsters stop in their path, right next to the pine tree from earlier. Their collection of beady eyes glare angrily down at Jungkook, their screams are hollow cries that press painfully against his ears. This conveyance of frustration continues on for a few seconds, before one by one the monsters turn around and make their way back down the mountain.
Jungkook’s breathing is frantic, along with his heart rate, as he watches the creatures disappear below the dip. “W-What the hell…?”
You angle your head toward in order for Jungkook to look at you—you wear an expression of softness, of understanding, and Jungkook momentarily sees stars.
That, however, could have also been from the excess oxygen in him, and the fact that one of those creatures had landed a swipe to his head.
You gesture to the pine tree. “You see that tree? That’s Thalia Grace’s tree—a long time ago, she and some of her friends were trying to get here, and Thalia sacrificed herself to ensure her friends could be safe. She was a daughter of Zeus, so he turned her into a tree that would protect the camp. Monsters just like those can’t get in anymore.”
Jungkook feels the adrenaline fading, along with his ability to follow conversations. Daughter of Zeus? Like, Zeus from those Greek mythologies? The camp? Had this been the place Taehyung told him about?
It’s all too much to keep up with. Jungkook faints before he can ask his question, in which the last thing he sees is your eyes, concerned and twinkling. He passes the thudding in his heart off as pure and utter exhaustion.
Jungkook wakes up on top of a white hospital bed a few hours later, head swimming and Taehyung situated at the foot. He offers a cup of something called ambrosia that immediately clears the headache. “Woah, what the fuck?” He asks, holding the cup away from him and staring at it with wide eyes. He looks over at Taehyung. “What is this? My headache went away as soon as I drank this. Also, it tastes like banana milk. Is this a dream?” Without waiting for an answer, Jungkook leans back and takes in his surroundings. He looks to be an infirmary, beds with white sheets along the walls and light shining in through the windows. There’s a few other people lingering about, hovering over occupied beds.
“Jungkook.” Taehyung’s soft voice pulls his attention back. “We’re in Camp Half Blood. You brought us here.” Taehyung’s smile is sad, but confident. “You brought me back, even though it was my mission to bring you here. Thanks.”
Jungkook stares. “So… you weren’t lying about the camp. T-This is all real?”
It is then that Taehyung explains everything to Jungkook. Explains that the Greek gods Jungkook learned about in class are real, and that sometimes they come down from Mount Olympus to mingle with mortals—which is where their demigod children come from. Demigods are part god, and therefore have enhanced physical ability as well as some level of control or skill over the realm of their godly parent. Taehyung goes over this information as slowly and as calmly as possible, but Jungkook still has trouble processing the information. In a way, it makes sense that Jungkook would be in this position. He’s always known he was different, always felt like he could never fully belong in the mortal world he spent so long occupying. He just could never label his feelings with a concrete answer.
Until now, that is.
Jungkook decides to ask Taehyung one more question. “Why couldn’t you explain any of this to me on the way over?”
Taehyung seems to be choosing his next words carefully. “As we kept going, you were attracting more monsters. That’s something that normally doesn’t happen, unless the demigod the creatures are tracking is one that’s insanely powerful. Like, a demigod that’s born from the Big Three—Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades. I read accounts of what happened to us happening to other kids that were born from any one of those three gods. I figured that the less you knew, the better. A demigod who doesn’t know they’re a demigod is a much less serious threat—your scent isn’t as strong as it could be if you know about who you are.”
Jungkook ponders this. “So my dad could be Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades?” He’s definitely heard of those gods. The ruler of all gods, and his two brothers.
Taehyung presses his lips together, leaning forward in his seat so his forearms rest on his knees. “Maybe,” He says. “It’s pretty rare, though, so I don’t want to give you an answer only for it to not be true. Only time will tell.” He must see the lost, the confused, the anxious look on Jungkook’s face, because Taehyung takes a seat on the edge of the hospital bed. “Hey, JK, cheer up.” The usage of his nickname makes the corner of Jungkook’s lips turn up. “While we wait for your dad to claim you, you can stay with me in my father’s cabin. My dad is Hermes. He’s a patron to travelers, so all campers who come here are welcomed until they’re claimed by their godly parents.”
Jungkook can only manage a nod at this. He still has many questions, still does not fully understand. With what Taehyung is telling him, Jungkook is not even sure he will belong here, or if he will be ostracized once again for being different amongst the different.
But he trusts Taehyung—so he’ll follow Taehyung.
.
Jungkook is at Camp Half Blood for a week before Taehyung is called for another assignment. It’s due to a prophecy given by the Oracle who lives on the campgrounds—the figure grants quests to campers to undergo a series of dangerous adventures in order to accomplish something for the long term benefit of demigods, the human race, the Greek gods themselves, anything of the sort.
In the case of Taehyung, he is chosen by fellow camper Kim Namjoon to join him in and travel west and retrieve stolen items from a museum collection. It seems like an easy quest. At least, that’s what Jungkook is told.
Kim Namjoon is a son of Athena, someone whom Jungkook met a day into his arrival at Camp Half Blood—friendly and smart and answers Jungkook’s questions about mythology with ease. It had been good when Jungkook first met the former, because he had many questions, some of which couldn’t be answered by Taehyung. Namjoon is someone that Jungkook immediately grows a fondness and admiration for—only leaving him that much more confident that the quest will go smoothly.
“You guys will be okay… right?” Jungkook asks Namjoon, as the latter is shouldering his backpack. He’s not the only person seeing Namjoon and Taehyung off on their quest, but Jungkook had been one of the first people to show up. After all, when your only friend is leaving on an adventure, it tends to bring in the worry and the anxiety. “And you’ll watch Taehyung, won’t you?”
“Of course I will,” Namjoon reassures, tight smile across his lips but he distracts Jungkook with a hand on his shoulder. “Taehyung and I have been doing quests together for a few years. We got each other’s back.”
Taehyung slides in next to Namjoon, glancing over at Jungkook with all the care in the world in his eyes. “Hey JK, just promise me you’ll do your best to be comfortable here, okay? Keep trying out those different skills we were working on, okay? Your dad will claim you, I’m sure of it.”
Jungkook looks down at his fingers, wringing the hands together. “I-I’ll try my best.”
Namjoon and Taehyung exchange glances, partaking in a silent language exchange, before Taehyung looks back at Jungkook. “I know someone who can help.”
Taehyung leaves Namjoon with his backpack before stepping away from the group, making his way down the hill back towards the camp grounds. Jungkook follows shortly behind. It’s still early in the morning, most campers are inside their cabins sleeping away the mist, but there’s a small group of campers near the archery grounds. There’s some laughter as a new person steps in to ready the bow and arrow. Jungkook watches as this new archer aims as the target, pulls back the bow, and—!
“Y/N!” Taehyung calls.
The person at the archery station flinches, sending the arrow a few centimeters away from the center of the target. You whirl around, and Jungkook’s stomach drops because it’s you—the person who helped him when he more or less crashed into Camp Half Blood.
You gape, still holding the bow in your arms as your eyes narrow into a glare as you continue to stare straight at Taehyung. “Kim Taehyung! Where are your manners!” You call out. “Aren’t you supposed to be on a quest now?”
Taehyung slings an arm around Jungkook’s shoulder. “I need to borrow you for a second, it’s important.”
You seem to be saying something to one of your friends, because you hand the bow to a friend before walking over to the two boys.
As soon as you reach your destination, you look at Jungkook and give him a bright-eyed smile of recognition—one that brings him back to the first time he met you, when he saw stars. “Hey!” You exclaim. “I remember you, you came in with Taehyung last week. You looked like you had been through a lot—are you feeling better now?”
“I-uh…” Jungkook tries to form words.
“He had some ambrosia, he’s fine,” Taehyung cuts in kindly, sending Jungkook a look he can’t decipher. Taehyung goes on a momentarily rant, explaining that Jungkook would just need someone to help him further adjust to life at camp, as well as help him figure out who his godly parent was.
Taehyung says a lot of words, but Jungkook isn’t entirely paying attention. His gaze is fixed on you, taking in your easy smile and bright eyes. He can feel his eyes widen and the flush crawl up his cheeks the longer he lets himself look at you—yet, he doesn’t understand what it means. He’s never seen someone like you before, in his years of school and in his years living on the streets.
“So, I just need you to help him out. Hopefully his dad will claim him before we get back.”
“That’s something to look forward to,” You reply, sounding genuinely excited for that. You turn your full attention to Jungkook this time and smile. “Hi, I’m Y/N. Nice to finally meet you!”
He takes your hand. Fifteen-years-old, and he wears his emotions in his eyes. “I’m Jungkook.”
.
Jungkook is at Camp Half Blood for three weeks when he starts getting nightmares.
Not only that, but it’s the same kind of nightmare—something horribly realistic and chaotic and messy but so painful that Jungkook finds himself waking up with tears dusting itself in his eyes.
It always starts off the same: Namjoon and Taehyung on their quest. They appear to be in a room of antiques, each boy looking cautiously at the collection around them, with their backs pressed against each other. There is a low hum in his dream, where the voices emit a low frequency and sound like static—like he’s hearing the conversations underwater. Suddenly, a burst comes from above, a shatter of something in the room, a clatter of hollow bangs and clashes, and a yell. His dream always turns blurry after the fight starts, but it always ends the same—Namjoon pulling Taehyung away from a fight. And the latter is badly wounded.
And Jungkook always wakes up at the sight of Taehyung. And it’s the same question that swirls around in his mind, over and over again. Did Taehyung die on the quest?
At first, it’s easy for Jungkook to write off the dream as a dream—nothing more, nothing less. Perhaps his subconscious playing tricks on him, playing around with his fears and turning it into videos to play in his brain. But with each passing night, a voice starts to ring in his mind.
My dear boy. It’s a deep voice, husky and low and full of pitiful sadness, like it can sense the pain that Jungkook is trying to internalize. Don’t you understand? Kim Namjoon let your best friend die.
There’s something about the voice that is familiar, like he’s heard it before.
The voice plays in Jungkook’s mind over and over again, like a record, and it shakes him to the core. The potential of what the voice is and what the voice could mean frightens him, and it shows.
It shows in when Jungkook just outright misses the target with his bow and arrow in the present day. The pair of you are out on the field today, and you’re furrowing your eyebrows together.
“Are you alright?”
Jungkook stares at his arrow, somewhere flung off to the side, before his gaze shifts to you. You’re always so sturdy, so concerned, so worried for him. Besides Taehyung, who else cares so much for his safety and wellbeing—?
He stops, lowering the bow. He wears a serious expression. “Can I tell you a secret?” He whispers.
You furrow your eyebrows at his tone. “Of course. Is something bothering you? I know your father hasn’t claimed you yet, but the gods can be really busy around this time…”
“No.” He shakes his head. “Not that.” He steals himself for speaking the words into reality. “I had a dream that Taehyung died, even though Namjoon promised me nothing would happen to him.” He doesn’t miss the way you flinch at his accusation.
You don’t reply to him at first. You stare at him, eyes conflicted. Jungkook stares back, briefly wondering whether you’ve had the experience of knowing death. He doesn’t voice the question, choosing instead to maintain steady eye contact with your nervous expression.
“Perhaps it was just a dream, Jungkook,” You say carefully. “Namjoon always keeps his promises. He and Taehyung have been working together on quests for years. And Namjoon is the smartest person I’ve ever met. If they ran into a situation Namjoon thought they wouldn’t be able to handle, he wouldn’t even think to risk the lives of the people he’s with. He won’t let you down.” You’re smiling tightly, clearly trying to keep the tension light but Jungkook suddenly finds that his heart is not in the mood.
He wants to believe you. He wants to believe in Namjoon. But he knows what his dreams are. And that voice. These are things he cannot ignore no matter how hard he tries.
But the thing is, his dreams are real—Kim Namjoon does not keep his promise. Jungkook can see this across his face the moment Namjoon returns to camp, alone.
“Not only did they know we were coming,” Namjoon explains quietly to the camp counselors, late in the night, at a meeting spot reserved for higher ups. “They had taken over the museum a few weeks before we showed up. It was an ambush. I… I couldn’t save Taehyung.”
No.
“No!” Jungkook cries out, standing up and making his position known—loitering in the background of the meeting.
Namjoon meets his gaze from across the gap that separates them. “Jungkook?”
Jungkook’s head is spinning, his breath coming out in gasps, as he backs up slowly away from the growing crowd of camp counselors. “Y-You promised me!” He accuses loudly, pointing at Namjoon. “You promised nothing would happen to Taehyung! You lied to me!”
“Jungkook, I’m sorry.” Namjoon steps out from amongst the group of counselors, a hand out in front of him as if approaching a frightened animal. “We were overwhelmed. If I could take it back and save him, I would—!”
“Shut up!” Jungkook cries louder, running his hands through his hair. He should have known, should have known that weight in his gut was a warning and not a feeling. The tears in his eyes make it blurry to see anything to understand anything—because Taehyung is dead, along with his kindness and compassion and the safety he brought. “I hate you, I hate all of you!”
Suddenly, there’s a rumble in the ground, a shake in the Earth so intense that a hushed silence falls over the crowd. At once, the ground splits open and a roar of fire explodes up from the pit, threatening to drag in anyone who gets closer. There are screams from the campers, from the counselors, but Jungkook doesn’t care. He’s so angry, so hurt, so lost. He doesn’t hear any of it.
Until he hears your voice. “Jungkook!” You scream across the gap.
Jungkook stills upon hearing you, lowering his arms and opening his eyes. Blinking away tears, he feels his heart rate slow back down to a manageable pace. The split in the ground closes before he looks up. He sees the camp counselors up ahead, equal looks of fear and horror across their eyes.
He turns just enough to see you. You, with your wide eyes, looking confused and upset by what he has just done. And Jungkook feels nothing but disappointment. He has never done anything like this before, and he doesn’t know what it means.
So he runs away. He runs away from Namjoon and this god forsaken camp that he knows will remind him of Taehyung.
He runs away from the whispers from campers, a representation to serve that Jungkook will never truly belong here.
He runs away from you, the only other person he would think to trust from now on. He can’t handle any of this anymore.
.
Two weeks after Jungkook runs away from Camp Half Blood, and a shadow of a figure appears to him in the midst of the evening air. It’s a ghost with a dark twisted smile, who calls himself Min Yoongi—a king in a past life, who now resides in the Underworld as a judge for all souls.
He tells Jungkook that Jungkook is a son of Hades—which explains why he knew about Taehyung’s death, why he split the ground open all those weeks ago. There’s something borderline dangerous about Yoongi’s smile.
Every fiber and nerve in Jungkook’s body is begging him not to trust this ghost. But, of course, Jungkook doesn’t listen. He stopped listening to things a long time ago.
Besides, Yoongi soon makes offers that Jungkook cannot escape from. A way to bring Taehyung back, a way to strike revenge upon Kim Namjoon, a way—!
Jungkook blinks the thoughts away. He had dozed off again, something he’s been doing a lot lately.
“You should sleep,” Yoongi advises, his voice more of a whisper than anything else. There’s a touch of eerie to him, in his paper white skin and gray eyes.
Even though Jungkook doesn’t desire sleep, far from it, he settles with listening to the ghost anyways. So he curls up on a makeshift pillow crafted from his beaten down (stolen) leather jacket, and closes his eyes.
But instead of the previous nights, where he dreams about death and destruction, dreams up different ways Taehyung could have survived, dreams up Namjoon not caring about Taehyung’s death—he dreams of you.
Dreams about you are such a rarity now, but they always make him feel warm. Content. Almost satisfied.
In the dream, the pair of you are situated underneath a big tree at the edge of the forest. You’re in the middle of teaching him about Mythomagic—a card game he had immediately developed an interest for—and he realizes he’s dreaming about a memory this time. When he steals a look at you, he sees sunlight curling around your form, lighting up your hair and your eyes. He hears your laughter and sees the crinkle in your eyes. He can feel your happiness and the innocence in the air around you. He remembers the peacefulness, the calming nature of you.
He misses it—he misses you.
A cold chill running down his spine startles Jungkook awake as he springs into a sitting position. The fire before him has long since been put out, and Min Yoongi is floating in front of him. The latter wears a sharp look. “You’re dreaming about her again, aren’t you?”
Jungkook sighs. Good things in his life could only last for so long. He runs a hand through his hair and turns to gather his jacket into his arms. “I thought I asked you to stop peeking into my mind.”
“You were smiling,” Yoongi observes quietly.
“That’s none of your business,” Jungkook snaps.
“It must have been a good dream. I couldn’t see the contents of the dream, just the subject.”
“Stay out of my head!” Jungkook hisses, standing up and sliding his arms into the jacket.
“You care deeply about her.”
“What do I have to say to get you to stop talking about her?” Jungkook retorts hotly, feeling his temper rise. It had been a good dream. The best one he’s had all week.
Yoongi looks at him passively. “Just answer one of my questions,” He settles calmly.
Jungkook grunts. “Fine. What is it?”
“Why exactly do you care so much about her? You hardly know her.”
Jungkook slides his backpack over his shoulder. He ignores the touch of passive aggressiveness in Yoongi’s tone. “She was the only one at camp who went out of their way to make me feel like they actually gave a shit.”
“She cares more about Namjoon than you,” Yoongi interjects bluntly. “She and Namjoon have been friends for longer. She only talked to you because of Namjoon, after all. And don’t you hate him?”
“Shut up.”
“You worry she doesn’t care for you the way you do. Haven’t you wondered why she hasn’t tried looking for you?”
“Shut up.”
“She was only nice to you because Namjoon asked her to be nice to you.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Jungkook explodes, turning towards Yoongi with his arm out in a striking motion. His arm cuts clean through the ghost, and he watches as the pieces wisp away into the air. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Yoongi will be back soon, probably to reprimand him, but mostly to carry on as if this hadn’t happened—to continue asking questions and continue trying to piss Jungkook off. It doesn’t matter. Jungkook could never bring Yoongi any harm. The latter is a ghost, after all.
There’s still a lot he doesn’t understand.
.
Jungkook calls off his deal with Yoongi shortly after the You Incident—in which a series of dreams about you sent Yoongi on an accusatory streak that sent him back to the Underworld where he rightfully belongs. It’s good because he doesn’t want a ghost meddling in his personal business, and his personal feelings.
It’s bad, however, because Jungkook no longer has an evil ghost by his side that offers up revenge.
This leaves him to do the next best thing—try and summon Taehyung.
As a son of Hades, his powers do include communicating with ghosts like Yoongi and cracking holes into the ground, but it also involves the ability to summon deceased souls. All that is required is a pit, some food, and a cantation in Ancient Greek. It’s supposed to be simple, and in a way it is.
Except when the soul he’s trying to summon doesn’t want to be found, which is exactly how it has gone with Taehyung. He’s tried to get Taehyung’s attention for weeks now, to no luck. And he’s tried everything.
Jungkook scowls to himself as he takes in the local convenience store to buy the various items he’ll need to attempt another summoning. Animal blood is one of the best tools for this type of power, but animal blood doesn’t exactly like up on shelves in aisles of grocery stores—so Jungkook has settled with fast food meals, chips, or anything cheap he can get his hands on.
He glares at the lineup of sodas in front of his gaze, trying to focus but he finds his mind wandering against through his memories, picking the ones that are most guaranteed to make him feel like shit.
His mind settles on a line Yoongi said to him countless times regarding you: She was only nice to you because Namjoon asked her to be nice to you.
His hands shake in his pockets, determined not to believe it, but finding himself pool with doubt nonetheless.
“Jungkook.”
He jumps out of his skin at the familiar voice he’s spent the past many months thinking about, as the sensation rings through his body. He experiences brief flashes of emotions he hasn’t undergone in awhile: peace, warmth, hope. He turns on his heel and can’t help the way his eyes widen at the sight of you.
The months that have passed since his disappearance really does wonders to your face. You look older. You look wary, but well prepared. Most of all, your eyes are still that bright light he remembers more often than he cares to admit. But you also look sad, like the sight of Jungkook is worse than you expected.
“Jungkook…” You say again, quieter this time.
You saying his name again brings him back to reality, brings him back to where he is and why he’s here. He doesn’t need you. Like Yoongi said, you’re friends with Namjoon—and Namjoon is the reason why Taehyung is dead. His voice sounds hollow. “What are you doing here?”
“I should be asking you the same question.”
His scowl deepens as he settles for a Mountain Dew on the rack. “That’s none of your business.” He catches the hurt that flickers in your eyes, but he turns towards the cashier before he can feel sorry for you.
You trail after him. “Please don’t shut me out,” You plead gently. You stay behind Jungkook as he pays for his food. “I came here looking for you.”
“Awfully convenient—but I don’t think you should be wasting your time,” Jungkook grumbles, bounding out of the shop and stopping along the sidewalk. “Why don’t you go back to Namjoon and keep being his best friend and just leave me alone?”
A sort of realization seems to settle in your eyes, as if you’ve just confirmed something. “I’m not leaving,” You say firmly after a moment. “I’m here by myself, Jungkook. No campers, no Namjoon, it’s just me. I know you’re mad at Namjoon, and you have every right to be upset. I know why you cracked a hole in the ground. I understand all that now. But I really think you should stop blaming Namjoon and hurting yourself. Namjoon didn’t mean to let Taehyung die—!”
Jungkook whirls around, his eyes a twin set of fire. “Don’t say his name,” He snaps roughly, but falls silent when you don’t even flinch.
How could he raise his voice at the only person who has gone out of their way to ensure his safety?
He turns away. He doesn’t apologize, and you don’t ask him to.
The pair of you don’t say anything for a long moment—Jungkook just makes his way down the sidewalk and you follow along.
He stops after a moment. He turns himself just enough so you can see his profile. “Fine,” He says, trying to ignore the flutter in his chest when you flash him an appreciative smile. “I’ll let you tag along. But only because I feel bad for snapping at you. I’ve just…” He sighs. “Been going through a lot.”
You step forward to stand by his side. “We can talk about anything you want to, Jungkook. I’m still your friend.”
He swallows thickly at your offer, hoping that you don’t notice. If you do, you remain silent. “Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to.”
.
Two days after you join Jungkook’s travels, you seem to decide he is calm enough for a sensitive question. But you’re sneaky about it. You wait until the night, when both of you are curling around a fire—you in your sleeping bag, and Jungkook with his signature leather jacket makeshift pillow underneath his head. “Why are you so afraid to talk about Taehyung’s death?”
He flinches at the mention of Taehyung’s name, knowing that snapping and causing a scene would do nothing to stop you from asking the question over and over again. You had given him a few days, but something about your tone tonight tells him that you won’t take no for an answer.
Jungkook turns his head to look at you. Your eyes are flickering against the fire. “I’ll answer your question if you answer one of mine.”
You shrug a shoulder. “Sure.”
He sighs, momentarily stumped. “I’m afraid that if I admit it, or let other people admit it in front of me, it’s true and there’s nothing I can do to bring him back.”
“I don’t think Taehyung would want you to bring him back, Jungkook. He saved Namjoon that day; he sacrificed himself for a reason—!”
“Okay, my turn,” Jungkook interrupts, refusing to hear any of it. “Why are you here? Really?”
You are quiet for a second. “I was sent on a quest to come find you,” You reply after a moment. “The oracle told me about a prophecy where you were in danger. It said you had made a deal with Min Yoongi, said you were considering a soul for a soul trade to get Taehyung back. I was scared for you, Jungkook.” You sit up in your sleeping bag, leaning across the space between the two of you. “My turn. Why don’t you want to believe that Taehyung sacrificed himself to save Namjoon?”
“Because why would he do that?” Jungkook retorts back. “Why would he leave behind everything he cared about? Why would he leave me—?” The words choke in the back of his throat as his heart rams painfully against his chest, the underlying reason for his bitterness surfacing up again. He thought he had smashed his grief down far enough where it would never have to see sunlight again. “It’s nothing. I’m not playing this game anymore.”
You are quiet, watching as Jungkook curls into himself and turns his back to you. “When are you going to start letting me in?” You whisper. “I didn’t accept that quest for no reason, Jungkook, I came because I care about you. I want to help you.”
I’ve already let you in, far more than I wanted to, Jungkook thinks to himself instead, wrapping his arms tighter around himself.
“I know that Taehyung would have never wanted to leave you. He cared about you a lot, and saw you as the little brother he never had. You guys deserved more time. You deserved more time to have the family you never got to have. You wanna know the last thing Taehyung said to me, after introducing us to each other all that time ago? He said that you guys only knew each other for a short time, but you were the strongest person Taehyung had known. I know how much Taehyung wanted to be there for you. But he also had other responsibilities.” Your fingers twitch as if you want to reach over and grab onto Jungkook. “Namjoon had been the leader of the quest, he was the main priority. Taehyung had to make the call. He would never have wanted you to take the guilt for a decision he made on his own.”
Jungkook hesitates, before rolling onto his back. “Why does Namjoon deserve my forgiveness?”
Finally, he spares a glance at you. You’re still looking at him, gaze sharp over the fire. It distracts Jungkook momentarily, as his mind thinks about how different you are from fire. Fire can be harsh, blunt, unforgiving, and relentless. Like him.
But you are like the sun—bright, warm, longing. You refuse to give up on him.
“Because it’s the right thing to do,” You whisper. “Because everyone deserves a second chance.”
He stares at you. He doesn’t know what longing dances behind his eyes, but you seem to know, because you avert your gaze and grumble something about going to sleep.
He watches you turn to your side, and he wonders.
.
Jungkook has tried to summon Taehyung a grand total of ten times in the weeks prior to his run in with you. Each time is met with failure, because it seems like Taehyung does not want to be summoned which is disappointing and disheartening. To be honest, it makes Jungkook less and less enthusiastic to keep attempting something he cannot guarantee.
But as you stand next to him over an empty pit the pair of you have spent the last thirty minutes digging up, you take your hand in his. You smile at him, nodding. “It’ll work this time.”
So Jungkook pours in the Mountain Dew and dumps out the bag of chips he’s acquired into the hole. As he repeats the same cantation he’s said for the past ten times, the food starts bubbling as spirits from the Underworld fight to get a taste of the offering.
“Show me Taehyung!” Jungkook calls out, although he sounds worried and unsure.
At once, a spirit with a bright light, brighter than the others around it, shines through. It slides to the front to drink from the food at the bottom of the pit. The figure morphs and forms into Kim Taehyung.
Despite everything, despite the long hours that Jungkook has committed to summoning Taehyung, the sight of his friend does not fill him with joy. It fills his eyes with tears.
You notice, you always do. You squeeze his hand, but you also let go of him. “I’ll leave you two.”
So Taehyung talks. He talks and talks, about his quest, about his sacrifice, about Namjoon, about forgiveness.
This is something Jungkook has wanted for weeks. Yet, the longer Taehyung talks, the deeper he can feel the rifts of frustration.
Frustration at Namjoon, for whom everyone is telling Jungkook to forgive.
Frustration at Taehyung, for leaving him drowning in the sorrows of his own nightmares. For leaving him, even when he wasn’t ready to be left.
Frustration at you, for always caring about him, even when he’s sure he doesn’t even care about himself anymore.
When Jungkook releases Taehyung back to the Underworld, he feels like a hollow shell. He simply stands there, in front of the pit that brought forth his best friend. His mind is whirling with questions, with a curiosity.
You approach him slowly. “Jungkook…”
“You should go back,” He mutters.
You actually look shocked at this now. “What?”
He turns on his heel to address you properly. “Go back to camp.” He doesn’t mean to sound so harsh, but the words come out like a snap. He tries to reprimand the situation when your face falls just a fraction. “Go back to camp,” He tries again, a little softer this time. He keeps his gaze on you, even when you look up to stare at him. “It’ll be okay. I just need a little bit of time.”
At this, you nod slowly. You try for a smile. “Come back home, okay?”
He thinks he knows what you mean, but you disappear before he can ask you.
.
He returns to Camp Half Blood after a few days, with his leather jacket and black iron sword. The campers that guard the border part for him like the Red Sea—with the exception of one camper. He’s an older camper, who even in the dark shines brighter than the moon overhead. It’s a son of Apollo quality. It belongs to Jung Hoseok, a camper Jungkook met when he first arrived at camp. Hoseok is like sunshine—he’s always bright and cheerful with a positive disposition.
Today, despite still having that glint in his eyes, the boy wears a much more solemn expression. Almost as if he’s seen everything that Jungkook has gone through. Or, at the very least, has heard about it. “Hey Jungkook…” Hoseok greets. He doesn’t leave much room for conversation, because he gestures past the archway entrance, down the hill, towards the Big House—the main meeting place for campers, the central point of Camp Half Blood. “She’s waiting for you.”
He doesn’t need a list of camp names to know who Hoseok is talking about. Jungkook just mumbles his thanks, trying not to draw too much attention to the flush against his cheeks as he follows the pathway down into camp. It’s late, so the grounds are devoid of people, making it easier for Jungkook to step onto the porch of the Big House.
You’re on the porch, pacing back and forth with your thumb in between your teeth and you look nervous. You’re mumbling something underneath your breath.
But your ears are just as good as your eyes, because as soon as Jungkook steps on the wood, you’re whirling around to face him. “Jungkook!” You exclaim, approaching him with tentative steps. “Y-You came back.”
He levels you with a look, feeling a bashfulness overcome him. “You asked me to,” He says. There’s a slight pause. “I told you I needed time to think, and I have. You were right. Everyone deserves a second chance. It wasn’t fair of me to go after Namjoon the way I did.”
You nod, giving him a small smile. “I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
Jungkook continues to stare at you, feeling a fondness overcoming him. “Thanks,” He finally settles with. “For, you know, finding me. For not giving up on me.” He looks down, scratching the back of his neck. “I should probably go find Namjoon and apologize.”
You wave away his concern. “Namjoon is asleep.” You angle your head towards the oceanside that surrounds the camp. “Want to take a walk with me?”
So you lead him through the camp, past the cabins of campers, past the archery set, past all that, to finally the beach located along the outskirts of the camp. It’s home to many boat races, surfing adventures, and firework displays. Currently, it’s devoid of activity. Right now there is merely a wooden pier that stretches out into the ocean, one that you and Jungkook walk down before you settle down at the edge.
You pat the spot next to you, and Jungkook sits down. Since you don’t say anything, he allows himself to stare out at the horizon, and the movement of the ocean. When you still don’t say anything, Jungkook dares himself to look at you. The moonlight is cascading across your features. You look like home. You feel like home.
You look at him suddenly, and knit your eyebrows. “Do I have something on my face?”
“Oh, uh, no…” He trails off, forcing himself to look away from you. Should he tell you? Not tell you, but… “Hey Y/N,” Jungkook speaks before he can think otherwise.
You look at him. “Yes?”
Jungkook straightens his back a little. “I-I think I should tell you… I didn’t come back just for Namjoon. Actually, I came back to tell you that I, uh, well, I missed you—I mean, hanging out with you—I wanted to be a better person because of you—I mean, not just because of you, but—!”
You start to smile at that, before you do something unexpected. You lean over and kiss his cheek.
He feels like his body has just been shocked, the sensation dancing up and down his spine. “W-What was that for?” He’s trying to sound confused, but his nerves immediately start getting the best of him.
Your smile is still present, but it’s a kind smile that touches your eyes and assures him of his choice to return. “I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice. You still wear your emotions in your eyes. That’s one that hasn’t changed over the past year.”
He scoffs, but his face feels hot and he’s sure the effect he’s trying to go for is lost anyways.

𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐑𝐒 ;; 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘬𝘪 𝘹 𝘧.𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳
𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒: 𝟏.𝟔𝐤
𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐒: you may be Bakugo’s sister but, no one in U.A. had ever known about your existence, until you decided to pay a visit... little did you know that Bakugo wasn’t the only familiar person there...
𝐓.𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: cursing (there’s Bakugo here, you shouldn’t expect any less lmao)
«What?! Bakugo has a sister?!» Mina exclaimed as she entered the living room, hardly having heard the rest of the discussion.
She sat herself cheerfully next to Kirishima, who had actually made space for her, quite eager to keep up with the gossip.
Not that she didn’t have every reason to. Bakugo was mysterious, kept things simple and to himself, always maintaining a distant and goal-oriented attitude, which didn’t allow for much personal investment. Therefore, wasn’t it reasonable for any given “friend” of his to be bound by curiosity?
«Oh shut up! As if you should care, raccoon eyes» he retorted coldly, with a casual murderous glare following shortly.
However, with her happy-go-lucky mindset and the habit of ignorantly listening to the merciless insults of the young hero, the pinkette didn’t mind him at all.
«I should, because when I become a pro hero, she might use some rescuing from me!» she announced, pointing to her gleeful self.
«Thanks, but I believe I can manage on my own».
A smooth, velvet voice cut through the room as the tapping of graceful steps reverberated. A pair of delicate legs strolling confidently, accompanying a perfectly-shaped body giving off waves of tremendous fortitude.
During the time Mina had spent in the Academy, she had never witnessed, not once Bakugo, the Bakugo, expressing his fear. Now, in the face of his sister, he was wearing a mask of exactly that feeling; terror.
«Is that… are you…» she attempted, feeling solely gaps of air leaving her mouth in stupefaction.
You ceased your pacing, offering everyone a friendly smile, escorted with a gentle wave of your hand.
«Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Y/n».
«…you can also call her dumbass» Bakugo mumbled between clenched teeth, intending to make an impression of dominance but also wishing to hide from the tyrant of a woman opposite of him.
«Shut your hole boom-boom idiot!»
An array of giggles filled the air, lighting up the ambiance and therefore breaking the ice, before you noticed a black-haired boy observing you in what seemed to be… dread?
«So she’s also taken after your terribly unhealthy anger issues, huh?» his eyes shifted to your smirking brother while he spoke in a modest and careful voice, as if he had selected his words with extreme cautiousness, one by one.
Another polite smile tugged at your lips, despite feeling quite displeased by your first impression. «I’m nothing like this walking temper tantrum», your gaze travelled around the room, inspecting it and gradually getting used to the surroundings, «…so you are his class… mates…» your voice slowly faded away as you met with one specific, too familiar person in the room.
It couldn’t be… he couldn’t be here… or, could he? As far as you’re concerned you’re completely sane, which only means that you weren’t hallucinating. A lump had suddenly emerged in your throat and you’d swear your heart had skipped several beats upon realizing what was happening.
«Why the hell are you staring at dunce face?!» Bakugo yelled, fury steeping his features as the urge to protect you took over.
«Dunce… what?»
Denki slightly rolled his eyes, although he seemed to have gotten accustomed to his nickname, and sighed as he struggled to appear collected and unbothered. «Me».
You scoffed and immediately covered your mouth with your hand, to prevent an inappropriate laughter from coming out. You didn’t really enjoy making fun of others, especially people like him who stood so close to you, but… this just sounded too fitting.
Denki blushed and immediately looked away, in his miserable attempt to be “discreet”.
«Do you guys know each other?» a familiar-looking redhead boy enquired, pointing between you and Denki. Your acquaintance had his mouth half-hanging open, as if he was about to say something, until he met with the frightful message in your look.
No.
You were quick to turn and face the redhead, with calmness written in your features and say: «Not at all, I mean… I hardly know any of you… um… Kirishima, isn’t it?»
The boy’s crimson eyes widened in surprise by the mention of his name.
Seems like I got it right.
«My brother tends to mention you a lot at home…» yet another wave of surprise washing over him, «…mostly how shitty your hair is…» you paused and pondered a little on your words, «…although I beg to differ» you beamed.
Kirishima’s face resembled a mixture of contentedness and dejection. You supposed and hoped that the former was on you.
Even so, for some odd reason, Bakugo was still keeping an eye on Denki. Not that the latter was acting with any prudence whatsoever, what with his nervously avoiding everyone’s eyes in the room.
«So… um… is there a bathroom… somewhere around here..?» you asked timidly, feeling the need to freshen yourself up and relieve some of the tension of this fairly messed up situation.
Soon after, thanks to your brother’s interference, you arrested yourself in that longed-for bathroom, taking a breather in silence and clearing your mind.
Before arriving at U.A. you weren’t really sure how to feel. On the one hand, you genuinely anticipated finally meeting all those amazing, gifted teens that had got themselves involved into so many scandalous episodes. On the other hand, you were doubting your social capabilities of interaction and trembled at the mere thought of stumbling over your words, or making a mess of something as simple a task as that, in general. In fact, an array of worst case scenarios was bombarding your head, even until the second you stepped your foot in that room.
However, discovering that Denki, your Denki, was actually one of the renowned class 1-A students?
That seemed nearly inconceivable to you.
Indeed, you had been dating with the guy for several months now, yet, without neither of you realizing, the hero studies topic had never been brought up; at least not in terms of specification.
So… Denki was a basically a hero… someone capable of coming to your rescue at any given moment… a hero…
«I hope you’re lost in your thoughts about me» an all too familiar voice was heard from the door.
Speak of the devil and the devil will come.
«Denki, what the hell?! How-- why did you come here?!» you called frantically, all the while taking alarming looks around to make sure your privacy was guaranteed.
«Don’t panic. We’re alone. Besides, my dorm is nearby~» he chimed, taking small steps closer to you simultaneously.
«So you used your dorm as an excuse to…?»
«Don’t play dumb, Y/n… you know better than anyone why I’m here…» your boyfriend whispered while slipping his arms around your waist and pulling you flush against his slim body.
You felt the temperature rising in your cheeks and your mind suddenly going blank, as though a fuzzy mist had been blurring everything. You had decided to come here merely to relax before proceeding to make new acquaintances. You couldn’t figure out whether this was happening due to Denki being one hell of a horny pervert or his being a complete and utter idiot. Come to think of it, both statements were suitable at the moment.
In the meantime, Denki was ranting about his plans, his dorm and many other stuff that you didn’t care too much to pay attention to.
«You are a dunce face» you giggled, trying not to focus too much on his golden gaze, which almost pierced holes through your own eyes.
«What did you say?» his face was beginning to distort into a suggestive expression, his lips gradually stretching into a devilish smile.
«You… are… a dunce face» you repeated teasingly and more confidently this time, despite feeling the embarrassment crawling up on you on the inside.
«A dunce face…» he hummed after you, before pushing you gently against a wall, with you hardly realizing, «I wonder where you picked that up from…» he teased, his fingertips sliding underneath your shirt grazing your back, sending minor waves of electricity down your spine with every brush whilst eliciting slight gasps.
Your lust-blown eyes remained locked the entire time, forming some kind of connection, as your breaths were little by little merging into one and the space between you was getting smaller by every second passing. You couldn’t hold your urgencies back anymore; your arms glided on his shoulders, eventually getting wrapped around his neck, as your head titled to the side allowing to the blonde to lean in and touch his lips on yours.
The subtle electroshocks being produced on your back combined with the feeling of soft lips dancing with even softer ones, wasn’t aiding you at all to restrain that low, throaty moan that escaped from your vocals.
The kiss was slow and yet, steeped with passion, dripping with all these raw emotions that were generated every time you’d encounter one another. Denki had you melting, desperately hanging on to him, as if he was your life line. As he nibbled on your bottom lip, you broke apart, both panting, your lungs burning for air, prior to your foreheads touching intimately, trying to calm your rapidly beating hearts.
«You should lock that doo—«
«GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF HER, DUNCE FACE!»
Before you even had the time to process what had just happened, Denki had done a runner, sprinting as fast as he could as he was being chased down by an infuriated Bakugo. It’s a pity you were marooned like this but, oh well, he was the one who had left the door unclosed….
Hope you enjoyed! Leave a heart, comment, reblog! 💕

OMG, I love all your works, it's so fluffy xD, can you do a ateez reaction where their SO walks down the aisle??
sorry I kept you waiting so long!!! thank you sm for being patient, I hope you like it!
Hongjoong:
While he’s waiting for you, he’s so nervous and wringing his hands and everything
Kinda sweaty but whatever he’ll blame the tux
When the doors open he isn’t even smiling bc he low-key feels nauseous
And it’s not that he isn’t excited
Its that he’s TOO excited
Like those dogs that pee whenever they’re happy
But anyway, I digress
He’s gulping after every member of the procession passes him
And when he finally sees you?
Straight up almost passes out
But now he’s smiling
Like HUGE
It’s almost creepy that his mouth can stretch that wide
His eyes might water a little bit, but he’s not gonna let any tears fall
And when you get to him he wants to hug you so bad but he knows that he should probably just…
Let the officiant do their thing so you can finally be married
Seonghwa:
Now, he will cry okay
Big, fat tears that obscure his vision
He’s so cute like he’ll even get hiccups
And he’ll rub his eyes to make sure he can see every bit of you
Wants to internalize this moment and just keep it forever
You have to grab his hands to stop him from rubbing his skin raw
And he’ll kinda smile sheepishly at you
You two literally don’t even notice that the ceremony has officially begun
Too lost in each other
The officiant will deadass have to tap you guys on the shoulder like “…hello?”
And all the witnesses will laugh good-naturedly at the two absolute love-struck idiots in front of them
You guys have the kind of ceremony that all the little kids in attendance will remember and want for themselves
And the way Seonghwa looks at you totally brings comments from your friends afterwards like
“If my fiance doesn’t look at me like that, we’re divorcing”
Overall the sweetest wedding you could’ve imagined
Yunho:
Tall boy that totally bangs his head on the gazebo lmao sorry
Happy puppy that bounces on his toes so much that he puts a crease in his perfect shoes
He will smile and wave to each of the couples that come before you in the bridal procession
Will even stoop to give the flower girl a kiss on the cheek which draws a chorus of drawn out “aws” from the audience
When you finally enter and step gingerly up the steps to the gazebo he’s almost clapping
He’s like “this. is. Art!!”
Staring at you with the biggest eyes
Whispers “hi” when you’re comfortably in front of him
When I say his eyes are sparkling? I’m being literal
His energy is so contagious
Stealing glances at your shared friends as if to ask if this was real
They giggle at him and wave their hands to redirect his attention to you
So adorable though and he will definitely ask you to pinch him at some point because he’s cheesy
Also rubs your hands gently as he’s holding them to reassure you throughout the entire ceremony (but also to calm himself down a little)
Yeosang:
So serious and stony faced at first
Like people are almost worried about him
But when those doors open, he’s grinning ear-to-ear
Doesn’t even see you yet, but the anticipation is killing him
He’s been waiting for this so long and it’s finally happening? He can hardly contain himself
He doesn’t even watch the entire procession because he’s too busy trying to weave his head around the other people to see if he can catch a glimpse of you
Has zero patience
You finally appear and that nearly takes him to his knees, I swear
He’s getting a lil wobbly
Highkey wants to run and meet you mid-aisle and just drag you the rest of the way
Wants the actual ceremony to be over with so you can be officially married
He’s been saying you're married this whole time but he wants it in writing
When you reach him, he takes your hands and you can tell he’s nervous because his hands are sweating
He recoils really quick to wipe his hands on the pants of his suit before grabbing you again
This prompts laughter from the entire audience
It amazed everyone that you two could still fluster each other, even on your wedding day
San:
TEARS
Ever since he woke up he’s been on and off crying
Happy tears, of course
He’s just so thrilled that it’s finally happening and he barely slept
Doesn’t even care about the ceremony anymore
Just wants to be married to you
Ready to live as a family and everything
Even if its just you two and Shiber for a while
When he first sees you, he chokes on his tears and starts coughing and he’s waving and making the “okay” symbol to the audience
You get to him and rub his arm to soothe him
Halfway through, its time for vows
Remember how I said he didn’t sleep?
He yawns right in the middle of his vows and you almost fall over you’re laughing so hard
Even the officiant, who has tried so hard to be serious up until this point, is trying to hold back a giggle or two
And San is totally worried that he’s made a mess of everything but when he sees your smile?
He knows that this wedding couldn’t have possibly gone any better
Mingi:
He’s gonna trip going up the stairs to meet the officiant
He’s so nervous about messing things up he almost seriously injures himself like fifty times getting ready
Like almost impales himself with the boutonniere, trips, almost slips in the shower, gets shampoo in his eyes, etc.
But everything is okay once he sees you
Couldn’t care less about anything else that had happened or gone wrong that day
Honestly wouldnt even care if the venue burned down, as long as he got to marry you
The boys are totally gonna tell you every detail and mishap from the morning later though
But for now? Peace
He’s smiling that crooked grin of his and his eyes are all twinkly with love
Gives you a big hug when you get close enough and holds you for a solid 20 seconds before the officiant is like “…can we get this going now?”
Awkwardly and reluctantly pulls away from you, kind of pouting but whatever lol
Just happy to be doing this with you and so excited for the future
Wooyoung:
Giggly and loud
Damn near screams when he first sees you
But it comes out as a quiet “oh wow”
Makes the officiant smile because they were the only one who could hear him say it
When you’re standing in front of him he’ll just kind of gasp
And then a single tear rolls down his cheek before he even knows he’s crying
When you wipe it away the witnesses are all cooing at you two
And he chuckles awkwardly and he’ll whisper that he’s not crying his eyes are just sweating
Whatever you say, kiddo
Once the ceremony starts, he never takes his eyes off of you
He doesn’t even know what the officiant looks like lmao
So laser focused on you and he just cant break away
You’re so hypnotizing
And he gets choked up reading his vows, but takes a few breaths and finishes with ease
And when the ceremony is finally over he’s practically racing you down the aisle, excited to get the party on with his new spouse
Jongho:
Strong boy not feeling so strong
He feels small while he’s alone and just waiting for you in front of all these people
The boys are whispering encouraging words next to him
But that doesn’t stop the violent shaking of his hands
When he sees you though? That’s when he stops shaking
He feels strong again
He draws all his strength from you, and that sounds cheesy until you remember you are literally the person he is dedicating his entire life to
Smiling that beautiful gummy smile of his
Holds your hands so gently throughout the entire ceremony and winks at you a couple times to make you blush
Basically, all his nerves dissipated when he saw you walking towards him
Mouths “I love you” to you a million times during the ceremony
When you ask him how many times he thinks he must have said it, he just tells you he lost track
“The officiant was boring me, I just wanted to be married to you. Finally!!”
Scoops you up at the end and carries you out that door
Maintains the strong image until you’re alone when he can bask in the softness of your long awaited marriage

A/N: WAIT OMG i’m obsessed with fake dating trope stories—they’re so cute! and i’ve never written any before! i don’t think, at least lmao. thank you for blessing me with this request, am so excited, also sorry i got a tad carried away
tag list: @mintlibri @georgeweasleyx @seppys-return-to-madness @fopdoodledane @fredd-weasley @iprobablyshipit91 @darling-details @laneygthememequeen @lupinsx @keoghans @helloallthethingsilove @bobduncanlover | message me if you’d like to be added!
“Quick! Hide me!”
George Weasley normally doesn’t mind the fame, if you will, that comes with being part of the most well-known duo Hogwarts has ever seen.
In fact, he welcomes the attention. Maybe not as much as Fred, but he welcomes it, nonetheless.
That is, until a boisterous Ravenclaw is doing everything in her power to grab his attention. How many times can he possibly tell her, in the nicest way possible, that he doesn’t fancy her?
Maybe being nice, Fred explains to him, isn’t the way to go. He doesn’t need to be rude, but he needs to be aggressive—or, blatantly obvious in a way that she won’t be able to ignore. Why can he not seem to shake this girl? She’s undeniably obsessed, Ron laughs one day, as George does his best to push his headache away, his eyes tired from constantly looking over his shoulder to make sure that feisty Ravenclaw is nowhere to be found. He was finding it harder than usual to concentrate in classes—and not in a good way.
George is used to the teasing by now—from his brothers, from Ginny, from Harry, from you—the friendly, fellow Gryffindor prankster—giving Fred and George a run for their money.
He ducks closer to you when he spots her peering, and you nearly choke on your soup during the feast, as the Ravenclaw twirls her hair, watching George with what can only be described as googly eyes.
“Oh dear,” you begin sarcastically, elbowing George next to you, “someone’s in rare form tonight.”
“Ha-ha,” he replies sarcastically as he shifts in his seat uncomfortably, doing his best to block her out by adjusting himself so that Ron’s head covers her face. She notices this, and schooches over in her seat, until George is in her line of view again.
“Merlin’s beard,” he says through gritted teeth, looking down at his food, “I laugh at one of her jokes one time and she can’t seem to let it go.”
“These girls are crazy,” Ron says as he sips on his pumpkin juice, only to receive death glares from you, Hermione, and Ginny. “I—I mean, just that girl—not all women—” he uncomfortably clears his throat and smiles, the tips of his ears turning a bright shade of scarlet.
“Have you tried landing yourself in detention more often than not?” Seamus Finnegan pipes up, “in me own experiences, girls don’t fancy a lad who’s always getting scolded,”
George shakes his head. “The more outrageous the prank, the more brutal the scolding, the more obsessed she becomes,” he tells you all begrudgingly, “I can’t bloody take it anymore.”
As the feast ends, George’s admirer stands up, eyeing him curiously, ready to make her move, yet again—but he finds himself scurrying out of the Great Hall as fast as possible—he’s flying up the staircase and it doesn’t even register with him that he’s not breathing until he enters the common room and lets out a huge sigh of relief. Only narrowly escaped that Ravenclaw, he did. He’s resting in an armchair as the rest of you wander inside a few minutes later, laughing at the flustered sight of him.
George doesn’t know what he’s going to do to get this girl off of his back. It seems as though he’s tried everything.
Unless?
A solution pops into his head very late at night whilst laying in bed, staring up at the curtains of his four poster in the darkness. He jumps up, checks his watch, and groans when he sees the time. In the bed next to his, Fred is sprawled out over his bedsheets, snoring quite loudly as if to say, I’m having a lovely sleep, thank you! George sucks in a breath and lays back down—his mind now swimming with ideas, his smile cheeky, his eyes widened. If this doesn’t give her the hint that he’s not interested, he doesn’t know what will.
It’ll just have to wait until morning, he supposes.
— -
“Y/N!”
You jump a little, not expecting to hear your name yelled across the Great Hall so very early in the morning. George spots you from the entrance, and after making sure there are no other unwanted guests around, he calls out to you and rushes toward the table.
“Hi, George,” you begin, smirking a bit, “you’re up early for someone who has a free period.”
“Needed to catch you before your Herbology lesson,” he places himself across from you and pours himself a bit of coffee—it’s aware to you now that he still needs a little bit of a pick me up. “I need your help.”
“Ah,” you reply and clap your hands together. “The time was quickly approaching—I’m in need of a good prank, you know! It’s been a bit since I’ve gotten involved in a bit of mischief, classes have been so bloody draining lately—so what were you thinking?”
George laughs at this. He does admire your sense of adventure and your equal love of pranking, but no. That isn’t what this is about. He sucks in a breath as he shakes his head, eyeing your curious look before opening his mouth again.
“I think I’ve figured out a way to get… you know who,” he eyes the Ravenclaw table suspiciously, “off of my back.”
You gasp audibly, bringing a hand to cover your mouth as your eyes widen. “Blimey, Georgie—you know who? Why didn’t you tell me that Volde—”
George nearly spits out his coffee due to a snort. Thank goodness he doesn’t. “Ha-ha, anyone ever tell you you’re absolutely hilarious?” He sinks into his seat and rubs his hands over his eyes, as if to brush away tears from laughing too hard. He then continues, after a bit of a laughing fit, “She just needs a push in a different direction, is all.”
You furrow your brow in confusion and bite into a piece of bacon. “And you need my help for that?”
“Precisely,” George tells you, scooping some eggs onto his plate. “Just hear me out.”
“That’s not a great way to start things out, you know.”
He scoffs and then grins cheekily at you. Then, he says, “You need to pretend to go out with me.”
You nearly choke on your piece of toast. “I beg your pardon?” you ask, completely stunned by his request. As you begin to laugh, George feels his insides tighten, and he wants to say, What the bloody hell is the big deal? but instead, he waits, and ends up laughing too.
“Oh, George,” you say after regaining your composure, spreading some more butter onto your toast, “you’re a riot, you are.”
When he doesn’t answer, but instead licks his lips impatiently and takes another sip of coffee and peers at you, as if waiting for your answer, you freeze.
“You’re serious, aren’t you?”
“You’re bloody right I am.”
“So you want me to pretend to be your girlfriend so she’ll end up stalking me too?”
The two of you erupt into a fit of laughter. Then he peers solemnly at you with wide eyes, as if to beg. “Pleaaaase, Y/N?”
You eye him suspiciously. “What’s in it for me?”
He scoffs again. “Extra time spent with me,” a loud crunch comes from his mouth when he bites into his piece of toast, and he winks. “I know you can’t get enough.”
You snort. “Don’t flatter yourself, Weasley.”
He picks up his cup of coffee, holds it up across the table to you and asks before you have time to think things through, “We have a deal?”
You roll your eyes at this gesture, but he’s patiently waiting for you to agree. What will this mean, exactly—pretending to date one another? You’re about to ask him, but it’s almost as if you know—it won’t last long. Soon she’ll get the hint, and the shenanigans can end. You go against your better judgement, acting on the very fearlessness that landed you in Gryffindor house to begin with, pick up your cup of tea and clink it with his. Feeling very pleased with himself, he leans back in his chair and grins cheekily, wiggling his eyebrows at you. You narrow your eyes and say, “Fine—but only because you’ve asked so nicely.”
Just then, you both notice a giggling gaggle of Ravenclaws enter the Great Hall, and George is already feeling his insides begin to swirl nervously. He’s doing things before he can even fully register what’s going on—
He leans across the table and takes a chunk out of the piece of bacon you’re currently also biting into, his face just inches from yours. You nearly choke on it due to surprise of how close he is to you, and he can’t help but begin to laugh, yet again. Always laughing with you, he is. “Erm—excuse me! Eat your own breakfast, you git!”
Just then, you notice her eyes flicker back and forth very quickly between the two of you, before she slowly passes you both by on her way to the Ravenclaw table, careful to listen to whatever the two of you are speaking about.
George can hardly contain his nerves, but figures he might as well get started on this fake dating thing. The sooner she leaves him alone, the better off he’ll be, “Love it when you talk sweetly to me, darling.”

“You two’re out of your bloody mind.”
Fred does not hold back his laughter later that evening when George divulges your plans. The unmistakable sound of Ron snorting bounces off of the walls in the common room, and he turns red in the face.
“You two? You two?”
“What?” you and George chorus together. George continues explaining to the younger redhead across from him, “It’s perfect—we’re best mates already, and we’re all in a bunch of the same classes together—maybe this will finally give her the hint,”
“It’s not going to work.” Ron replies, looking rather amused. He shoots you a look.
“Well, can’t make any promises, of course,” you tell the lot, “but I reckon we put in the work, it’s bound to fix the problem eventually.”
Ron, Harry and Fred continue to roar with laughter in the common room. “She will never fall for that!”
“Why not?” George asks a bit angrily. He’s nervous now—if this plan doesn’t work, he doesn’t know what the bloody hell he’s going to do. Transfer to a school on the moon, at this point.
“Because,” Ron starts, holding back a snort, “Y/N’s Y/N and you’re—you.”
You and George glance at one another, and then back at Ron. The common room is now buzzing with chatter and gossip and it’s becoming hard for everyone to focus on the conversation. “Meaning?”
“I dunno,” Harry pipes up. “You guys just don’t really look like you’d be a couple.”
“Exactly,” Fred agrees, “you’re too—close. Friendly. You’re just.. friends,” he leans back casually in his chair with his hands behind his head, “it wouldn’t work. But, by all means—” he puts his hands up in surrender, chuckling before he continues, “—go for it and embarrass yourselves. I’m in a good need of a laugh.”
— -
Charms is, by far, George’s favorite class at Hogwarts. If he could take that and only that, he reckons he would. But with Little Miss Obsessed on the other end of the corridor, watching him as if her life depends on it, he can’t help but count down the seconds until the lesson is over—or, at least, the seconds until you get here.
You walk up next to him, finally, with Fred on his other side. “Morning, you two,” you tell them through a yawn. Your few cups of tea haven’t seemed to help your exhaustion from the night before—multiple games of exploding snap and copious amounts of butterbeer until the late hours of the evening did not do you good. You lean against the wall and close your eyes. “Are we awake yet?”
“Morning, Y/N!” Fred says brightly, patting you on the shoulder, waiting for Professor Flitwick to arrive and open the door to the classroom.
“Merlin, Fred, it is far too early to be this bloody excited about anything.”
Next to you, George laughs sleepily and nudges you with his elbow.
“Oh,” Fred replies. You can hear the smirk and mischief in his voice, even with your eyes half closed, “I just thought you’d be more excited to see your boyfriend this morning.”
This certainly wakes you up. You jump slightly and peer at George, who’s rather alert now, as well. You’d almost forgotten. Nearing closer to the classroom entrance, you eye the Ravenclaw, who’s watching you both very suspiciously and whispering to her cronies around her. Before any of you can register what’s happening, you lean over and place a kiss onto George’s cheek.
Fred stifles a laugh, Flitwick is opening the classroom door, the Ravenclaw is fuming, but all George can focus on is what just happened. Through gritted teeth and a very cheeky smile he’s trying his hardest to suppress, he asks you, “What the bloody hell was that?”
“Just abiding by the rules of your request,” you whisper back, grinning at him. “If she’s going to think we’re a couple, we better act like it, haven’t we?”
George hadn’t really thought about this—embracing you, kissing you, holding your hand. If he was being honest, he didn’t think about it because everyone had already mistakenly taken you two for a couple just a few months prior, when all you two had been doing is exactly what you’d done all along—be friends. He kind of just assumed the same thing would happen.
“Right,” he says, the heat of the fleeting moment dying down. “Yeah, of course.”
The three of you waltz into the classroom and take your seats near the middle, with the Ravenclaw sitting a few rows ahead, trying her hardest to peer stealthily over her shoulder at the two of you. It seems as though she’s definitely noticed something.
Flitwick begins the lesson and you lazily lean your head against George’s shoulder, sticking the back end of your quill in your mouth and listening as Flitwick tells you the desired page to turn to in your textbooks. Teasingly, George asks, “What am I—your pillow now?”
You turn to peer up at him. In a low voice you tell him, “If I’m going to be your fake girlfriend, you’re going to let me lean on you when I’m sleepy. Deal?”
You turn your focus back toward the front of the class and George can’t help but smile at you, shaking his head in admiration. He slings an arm around you and props himself into a more comfortable position.
“Okay, then. Deal.”
— -
George is now finding it incredibly easy to pretend to be your “boyfriend”. The hand holding, constant embracing, and laughing into oblivion seems to come naturally—it doesn’t even feel strange to him, and he’s amused to see that you’re taking it the same way. Probably because you got on so well with one another before all of these shenanigans started. Right?
While his admirer’s persistence has seemed to die down a bit, she still winds up watching and cornering him in corridors from time to time—but it’s easier with you arm in arm with him. She doesn’t linger too long, or continue to flirt obnoxiously with him. It seems as though your plan is working. Now, if only she can find a significant other of her own to pay attention too—
You’re sitting in Transfiguration, working on the bird conjuring charm you’d been dying to perfect in your free time whilst McGonagall steps outside for a moment to meet with Professor Sprout, and you’re doing your best to ignore the glares from the other end of the classroom.
“How d’you reckon the plan is working out?” Fred asks you both.
“Well, she’s certainly not as persistent,” George tells his twin in a low voice, eyeing the Ravenclaw stealthily across the classroom, “but I’m not sure she’s entirely convinced.”
You break your focus on the charm and turn toward the twins. “Reckon she will soon.”
“Yeah?” they chorus together.
“Yeah,” you reply, picking up your wand, not giving them any further information.
Fred crosses his arms and looks at you quizzically. When you neglect to continue, he asks with a twinge of sarcasm to his voice, “And how, may I ask, do you know this?”
You stifle a laugh and practice your flourishing movements without conjuring the charm. “—‘cause.. she’s just got to, hasn’t she? I’m telling you—we keep this up for a bit longer, and she’ll forget all about you. Mark my words.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Avis,”
A puff of smoke emits from your wand, along with a loud blasting sound, and then a flock of birds twitters in front of you and you stand up straighter in front of your desk, feeling extremely pleased with yourself.
“Bloody hell,” Fred and George say together, peering admiringly at the flock of birds you’d managed to conjure. George continues, “That is N.E.W.T Level stuff you’re doing, Y/N!” He picks you up and spins you around, your hair flying into your eyes. You’re weightless to him. When he places you back down gingerly on your feet, he brushes the hair gently out of your face and says, “You’re brilliant, you are.”
Breathlessly, you answer him, “Thanks,”
His hand is still in your hair, his fingers delicately brushing your cheek. George can suddenly feel his insides tighten and his face go rosy—but why?
The entire world seems to stop around you both. It’s as if nobody else exists.
Thankfully, though, when both of you snap back to reality at the sound of McGonagall re-entering the classroom, you both see that nobody else has seemed to notice your small intimate moment.
You pull nervously at the edges of your sleeves and take your seat again next to George, who is running a hand through his hair. When he turns to look at Fred, who must’ve noticed this small exchange, George is relieved to see that there’s no cocky or amused expression on his face—he’s merely pouting due to the continuation of the Transfiguration lesson.
— -
The weather is surprisingly warm for a winter day. George is seated up against a tree near the water’s edge, fiddling with something in his hands—an invention, no doubt—when you plop down next to him with a slight groan.
“Long day?”
“Why in the hell did I decide to take Double Herbology?” you whine, letting your bag sink into the ground next to you. You place your head into your hands, grinding your knuckles into your temples to rid yourself of your headache. You elbow him slightly, “How come you didn’t stop me?”
George laughs, looking back down at this knick knack in his hands yet again. “You were pretty adamant about taking doubles,” he recalls, thinking back to when you’d originally picked these few classes, “don’t you remember?”
“Yeah, well,” you begin, breathing in the smell of the sweet air, picking at the grass in between your fingers, “I suppose it was sort of a silly decision, wasn’t it? I’m bloody exhausted.”
Up near the castle, Ron spots you two and is about to run down to join you both, when Fred tugs on his robes and holds him back, nearly choking him. “Oi!” he exclaims, turning back toward his older brother. “What the bloody hell was that for?”
“Before we all head down there to join the lovebirds,” Fred begins, grinning cheekily at Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Ginny, “I’d like to pick your brains.”
“About what?” Ginny and Hermione ask together.
“Well, precisely what I’ve just said,” Fred tells them, leaning against the entrance of the castle, his bag slung over his shoulder. “The lovebirds.”
Ron and Harry glance at Fred quizzically. “What about them?”
“I’m starting to believe this whole fake dating nonsense isn’t really fake at all.”
Harry laughs at the site of Ron’s agape mouth, when Ginny just shakes her head at her older brother. “You’re off your rocker, Fred. No way they’re really together. They would’ve told us, no?”
Fred crosses his arms. “I’m not so sure of that.”
Harry asks him, “How d’you reckon?”
“I was watching them in Transfiguration the other day,” Fred begins to tell them, watching to make sure the two of you are still out of earshot. “We were all chatting whilst McGonagall needed to step out, Y/N was doing some really advanced type of magic—N.E.W.T Level,”
Still, Ron’s jaw is dropped. He’s seemingly impressed. “Blimey—really?”
“Not the point of the story, Ronniekins.”
Ron turns a bright shade of pink and goes very silent at everyone’s slight snickers. Fred continues, “Anyway—we were all talking about how this plan of theirs was unfolding—to be honest with you, I haven’t seen much of that Ravenclaw around, but George swears she’s still pining over him. So, Y/N does this really advanced charm and George nearly topples over, picks her up and spins her around—you know,” he turns toward his brother and sister, “like those scenes in those silly Muggle movies mum watches. Then, everything went really quiet between the two of them, and they were just—looking at one another, for a really long time.”
Hermione asks, “Like how, exactly?”
Fred thinks on this for a moment. Then he replies, running a hand through his hair, “Like they’re in love.”
Ginny narrows her eyes. “So? Doesn’t mean they’re actually in love. I mean.. they are supposed to be acting like a couple—that’s the point of all of this.”
“So,” Fred says, ignoring everything else Ginny has just mentioned, “I’ve got a plan.”
Ginny turns toward Hermione, “Never a good sign.”
Fred nudges his sister playfully through bits of hearty laughter from the group. “I think we should slip them both a love potion—see if anything changes—if it does, we know they truly are faking. I’ve got the antidote all ready to go.”
“A love potion?” Harry asks.
“Those pink bottles you’ve got all over your room at home?” Ron adds.
“Yes,” Fred says brightly. “Admittedly—it’ll probably be one of our most popular inventions in due time. But Merlin, they are dangerous—you know, when it comes to love, and all that.”
After nearly everyone agrees, Fred begins to put his plan into action—when it will happen, the time of day, just exactly how they’re going to pull it off—when Hermione decides to interject her opinion.
“Nothing’s going to change, you know.”
Ron nearly drops his bag onto the ground. “D’you know something we don’t?”
Hermione laughs. “No, of course not, but—well, it’s obvious, isn’t it?” But clearly, it isn’t quite as obvious as it should be. “They’re already in love!”
Before Ron, Ginny, and Harry can interject their thoughts and objections, Fred turns toward her and says, “Cheers, Hermione.”
“You agree, do you?”
“I do,” Fred replies, now focusing his attention on the two of you down by the lake. It seems to him, he realizes, that while your love may be obvious to some, it’s the two of you that are completely oblivious. He watches as you sink back into George’s chest, his arm slung around your shoulder as you both continue to laugh animatedly about something. Fred points and says, ”Just look at them, would you! D’you see the Ravenclaw anywhere near here? No.”
“Fred,” Harry begins, “if you think they’re faking, then why in the bloody hell d’you want to waste a love potion on them?”
Fred just smiles evilly. “So it’ll be easier to get them to just admit it already.”
— -
“Okay then—enough homework for one evening, I’m absolutely knackered,” you tell the twins, folding up the parchment of your Potions essay and slipping it carefully into your bag, “you two coming back to the common room?”
“Yeah, in a bit,” Fred says, a look of absolute disgust on his face as he flips through his spell book, “this assignment is a right pain in the—”
He stops himself when he notices Madam Pince in the corner, eyeing him suspiciously. You ask them both, “You sure you don’t need any help?”
“Nah, that’s alright, I know you’re exhausted,” George tells you, appreciative of all the help you’ve given them already. “You go on.. we’ll meet you before you head off to bed.”
“Alright,” you reply sweetly, leaning in to place a featherlight kiss to his cheek. His hair at the nape of his neck feels so soft beneath your fingertips, “See you later.”
The Ravenclaw at the next table, Fred notices, isn’t quite as angry at this exchange as she would have been a few weeks ago. Has everything truly been working in their favor?
But George hardly notices—he just looks back down at his bit of parchment and continues to work on his conclusion, trying very, very hard, in Fred’s opinion, to suppress a grin. It’s rather noticeable alongside the cherry red color of his cheeks.
Only a few minutes pass by of silence between the twins before Madam Pince is hurrying everyone out of the library. The group of Ravenclaws make their way, albeit slightly reluctantly, to the opposite end of the castle toward their common room. George has never been so happy to be heading up to bed.
“Oi, Georgie,” Fred begins as they trudge through the corridors, “how long d’you reckon this thing between you and Y/N is going to last?”
“Dunno,” George tells his twin truthfully through a yawn. His four poster is so close, just a few more corridors to get through… “Until that Ravenclaw stops showing up everywhere I go, I suppose.”
Fred snorts at this comment. “Well, you can’t help class, mate.”
“Yeah, but, I mean everywhere else.”
Fred tugs on his brother’s robes and gets him to stop right before the entrance to the common room.
“C’mon, just be straight with me,”
George just glances at him with a confused look.
“About Y/N,” Fred prods.
“What about her?”
“You may be fooling everyone else, but you’re not fooling me.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Fred’s feeling slightly annoyed at his brother’s obvious denial now. “I know how you feel about her, Georgie. I see the way you look at her. Why don’t you both just come out and say it so you can be together for real?”
George actually has to place his bag on the ground. He rolls his eyes—somehow, he knew this was coming. “What the bloody hell are you on about? We’re just friends, like you said—this is purely strategic.” George turns around, picks up his bag, and is about to say the password to enter the common room, but—
“Strategic,” Fred echoes his twin. “Right. So I guess I can go along with my plan, then, slip you both love potions, make sure there’s definitely a change in your feelings toward one another so we know you are truly faking—”
This certainly grabs George’s attention. He can feel his heart thundering in his chest. He turns back toward his twin with narrowed eyes and asks, “What plan?”
“Oh, sorry—forgot to mention,” Fred jokes, careful not to wake any sleeping portraits, “I told the rest of the lot that I’ll be conducting a.. bit of an experiment, if you will—for research, you know. Don’t worry—got the antidote ready to go for when you both, of course, fall madly in love—”
“Fred,” George says through gritted teeth, but lets out a laugh, as well, “I’m not taking a love potion. First of all, those are prototypes for the store, remember? Reckon I’d need to be barking mad in order to take one of those anyway—we know full well how powerful they are.”
Fred’s been ready for George to argue about this. “But I told you, I’ve got the antidote—” Fred’s grinning cheekily at his twin now, he doesn’t even mind getting cut off completely.
“The answer’s no, Fred. You’re out of your bloody mind.”
“What are you so afraid of mate?” Fred laughs and punches George in the arm. “Are you scared that your feelings are going to change?”
George doesn’t want to answer this. He quickly runs a hand through his hair and suddenly seems a bit on edge. He absolutely hates getting cornered like this—he can’t shake the feeling that there’s something sharp lodged in his throat. He opens his mouth to argue, but once again, Fred takes him by surprise.
“Or, I wonder—are you afraid of them not changing at all?”
— -
George hasn’t slept in days. Weeks, maybe. No, that’s being too dramatic—maybe three days, tops. But to him, it certainly feels like a much longer time.
He drags himself, quite reluctantly, toward the dungeons. He’s looking forward even less to the Potions lesson in front of him. He can barely pay attention on a normal day—now, when he’s sleep deprived and running on not much other than caffeine and his own musings, he’s almost certain he’s going to fall asleep just walking there.
Until he spots you, of course, strolling down the other end of the corridor. You see him, too, wave frantically, and bounce your way over to him. Perhaps, he thinks, Potions won’t be so bad after all.
“Hey,” he says brightly, nearly over the moon to see you.. even if it is early in the morning.
“Georgie! I’ve got news,” you say excitedly, poking him in the ribs and wiggling your eyebrows at him. “Guess what I’ve found out?”
George is peering at you, as if in a dreamlike trance. His voice floats through the air between the two of you. “Tell me.”
“It’s about you know who,” you tease, “got herself a boyfriend, she has.”
George suddenly feels very warm. Blimey, it’s hot. He loosens his tie a bit, a hitch in his voice, “Wait, r-really? Where’ve you heard that?”
“Saw them together in the Great Hall—some Slytherin bloke,” you tell him, clutching your spell books tightly in your arms, “she was nearly drooling all over him—reckon her obsession will move to him now, no?” When George doesn’t share the same enthusiasm you do, you prod him with your wand and joke, “What’s the matter? Don’t tell me you’ve actually fallen for this girl.”
“Merlin, no,” George answers quite quickly. You watch as his expression changes from sullen to chipper within a matter of milliseconds. “That’s great news! Gets her off my back, doesn’t it?”
“Exactly,” you reply, “and now you don’t have to hang around little old me all the time. Not that I don’t enjoy your company—” you add quickly when George furrows his brows, “I just mean, now you’re able to go after any girl you fancy, not worry about her anymore—”
“Yeah,” a laugh escapes his lips, “yeah.. reckon you’re right! Blimey, have got to tell Fred.. he was starting to get freaked every time she so much as glanced over at us.”
Students begin to walk a bit more speedily, and you both realize the sound of the bell is drawing nearer. You push playfully on his chest and say, “Anyway—wanted to tell you before class! Meet me in the common room before dinner, yeah?” And before he can answer, you flash a toothy smile and turn in the opposite direction, making your way as quickly as you can toward the library.
You want to tell him. You want to tell him that you’d heard him and Fred that night when they’d been discussing love potions and whatever Fred has up his sleeve—you’d gotten caught up in the corridor around the bend, chatting with another student about an assignment, and had heard the entire exchange. You reckoned it was best to just end it now, before things get really messy.
Things seemed to be working in your favor, though. You hadn’t lied. That Ravenclaw did find herself a boyfriend, so, it seems as though the plan you two had formulated had worked, and that’s a good thing—right?
It’s the first time in—weeks, months?—that you and George part ways without a kiss on the cheek, a tight, romantic embrace, and it makes him feel weird. Off balance. He doesn’t like it. Is he really.. missing those times? Doing those things with you? He shakes his head in defiance, begrudgingly making his way toward Potions. Fred’s words ring in his ears. Just friends. Even if he does feel those things, it’s obvious that you don’t, he realizes. You’re nearly bouncing off the walls knowing that this fake relationship is over. So, why doesn’t he feel the same way? Why does he feel so sad?
He swallows thickly before bumping into Fred. They make their way into the classroom, George’s head and heart feeling heavier than they have in weeks.
Little does he know, you’re sitting in the library, staring into space, a piece of blank parchment in front of you, feeling, if not more so, the exact same way.
— -
A few days later, George can finally sit in the Great Hall in peace without ducking behind anyone, crouching down in his seat, or skipping feasts altogether. His prior admirer seems so wrapped up with her new love, that George Weasley might as well not even exist. He feels relief wash over him.
He’s sitting with Fred, Ron, Ginny, Harry, and Hermione, but you—you’re nowhere to be found. In fact, he hasn’t seen all that much of you in a few days time. Guess he sort of got used to always having you around. Loads of Herbology assignments, you told him the day before with a cheeky grin, reckon Doubles is catching up with me.
“So Georgie,” Fred says brightly through mouthfuls of potatoes, “reckon we should get back to our regularly scheduled mischief now that our unscheduled hiatus has been lifted, yeah?”
“Oi, Fred, can’t you see that he’s not listening to you?” Ron asks before lifting a hand to slap George right across the face.
“Easy, you two,” Ginny scolds them and grabs Ron before he can do anything. Then she taps her older brother on the shoulder, “Hey, earth to George.”
“What?” George says, finally joining the group, the haze above his head lifting slightly, “oh, erm, sorry.. was—distracted.”
Fred eyes his twin curiously. There’s a tiny bit of sarcasm in his voice, “What’s going on, mate? You’ve been awfully quiet since your little plan wrapped up.” But even in his delirious state, George knows what Fred is trying to do. And he’s so bloody exhausted and tired of fighting everything that he doesn’t even argue. Instead, he takes the group by surprise, and stands up without touching his meal. “What’re you doing?”
“Something I should’ve done months ago!” he calls as he flies toward the entrance, maneuvering himself between students and professors alike. He’s doing things without fully registering what’s going on, he’s taking steps three at a time, he’s jumping through the portrait hole in a huff, he’s panting heavily with a very confused you in front of him, baffled at his state.
“Hey there,” you say brightly, “you alright?”
When George catches his breath, he takes you by surprise. “‘m doing just fine, love.”
“Love?” you ask teasingly, “you missing what we had, Georgie? Our fake little relationship?”
“It wasn’t fake.”
You shoot him a glance and freeze completely. George is almost certain he can hear the pounding of your heart reverberating off of the common room walls. He’s thankful, now that he’s recognized, the two of you are completely alone. “It—it wasn’t?”
“Of course not.”
You offer a nervous grin, and George knows he’s said the right thing. The tension between the two of you is rising and you ask him jokingly, “This isn’t a love potion talking, is it?” Realization hits him like a ton of bricks and he lets an exasperated laugh escape his lips. Damnit, Fred. He shakes his head no and waits with bated breath for your next words.
“So this,” you say, pointing back and forth very rapidly between the two of you, “it’s..it’s been real this entire time?”
“Of course it’s real, it’s always been real,” George is finding it difficult to breathe correctly now, “hasn’t it been real for you?”
But you realize, as you’re choking back tears, that by saying yes, you’ll only be delaying the inevitable—which is, of course, to kiss him into oblivion. And you’d both waited bloody long enough already, hadn’t you?
So instead of saying anything, you bite back a very large grin before stepping forward and pulling on his tie and pressing your lips to his. He’s not even surprised—if anything, he’s relieved, to finally know what it feels like to have your lips on his after many moments having dreamt about it. Immediately, you want to ask him why you two haven’t been doing this the entire time, but you can’t bring yourself to break from him now that you’re intertwined together. It’s slow and warm, his lips molding perfectly with yours, his thumb brushing gently against your cheek, soft moans escaping his lips, the rest of his fingers making their way through your soft hair. It sort of feels as if you’re floating, actually, bouncing delicately from cloud to cloud, high above the trees and the castle. Breaking slightly and pressing his forehead to yours, he says, “So, erm, silly question—but are we—?”
“If you even have to ask if I’m your girlfriend for real now, you’re out of your mind, Weasley.”
George’s head is spinning. He leaves trails of kisses along your cheeks, your neck, and your collarbone, all before finding your lips again, and as they form a smile against his own, he can’t seem to shake the feeling like he’s coming home.
A very amused voice startles you both, making you part at the mere sound of the clearing of a throat. “Alright then, Ron, Ginny, Harry—you all owe me two sickles each. Hermione—cheers again, reckon you did well to agree with me on this one.” And then, when he notices you two watching, Fred says, “Oi—well it’s about bloody time.”
“I’m sorry,” you begin, doing your best to not think about the scarlet color of your face, or the fact that they’d all seen quite possibly the most intimate moment you and George have shared together, “you lot placed bets on us?”
“Sure did,” Fred replies, looking rather pleased with himself as he’s handed his earnings from a very grumpy looking Ron and Harry. He slides the sickles into his pockets and crosses his arms in delight.
As Ginny and Hermione squeal excitedly and wink at you before heading up to the girls dormitory for the evening, George pulls you back into his arms, confidence engulfing him, and says to the others, “If you don’t mind, we were kind of in the middle of something here.”
The tips of Ron’s ears turn extremely pink and he smiles warily. “Guess you didn’t have to use those love Potions after all, Fred,” Harry says.
With a wink at you both before making his way toward the stairs, Fred replies, “Was never going to, actually. Just had to make them think I was. Knew these two would break eventually.”
“Hate to admit it, but you’re kind of brilliant,” Ron says admiringly, but continues to pout when Fred slings an arm around his shoulders and tells him,
“Next time, Ron, just side with your wiser, older brother, yeah?”
You turn back toward George, your arms around his neck. When you make sure the others are finally out of earshot, you say to him, tugging gently on his tie again, “He’s outrageous, he is.”
“Got us together, though, didn’t he?”
“I suppose I’ll give him that one.”
“Oh,” Fred calls from the top of the stairs, “and Y/N? No snogging my brother until the wee hours of the evening, alright? He needs his beauty sleep.”
“Shove off, Freddie,” you call. A cackle of laughter floats down from the boys dormitory, but you find it easy to ignore. What do they know? The two of you have tons of lost time to make up for. You stand on your tippy toes, press your forehead to George’s before he kisses you again. He lets out a soft laugh when you say against his lips, to a Fred who can’t hear you, “Can’t make any promises.”
