Roommate Binghe would absolutely make the most insanely hilarious Reddit thread that’s so out of touch with reality. I can just hear the comments begging him to give the woman he dates a break and just bend over and fuck his roommate already
That thought is literally what inspired this au for me in my head I had this idea of binghe saying "am I the asshole for not picking my BEST FRIEND OF TEN YEARS over a woman I've been dating for two weeks?" And it's one of those aita posts that have a deceptive title because everyone reads that and goes of course not! Then the actual post is this:
"I (21M) met my best friend (22M) when I was 11 and he was 12. I used to be really weak and scrawny back then, and he saw me getting bullied at the playground and became the first person who ever stood up for me. After that he asked his parents to hire my mom and we could finally move out of poverty. She was really sick at the time and getting a better paying job really helped her get better. I'm saying all this to show how important he is to me and why anyone should understand that he'll always be the most important person in the world to me.
He's also a bit sickly. Nothing severe but he has asthma and picks up illnesses way easier than most people, so I often take care of him.
Recently he said he wanted to meet my girlfriend, so I agreed the three of us should have dinner together at a nice restaurant. She was weirdly quiet the whole time, staring at the two of us talk. When we left it was late, and the night air was making him shiver, so I gave gege my jacket. I thought we'd all head our separate ways from there but my girlfriend got super moody and said it was my job to drive her back too?? I said "I'm not making gege walk back because you want me to drive you home" and she was about to yell at me when gege stepped between us and said I can drop her off and then take us home. It was annoying because she lives in the opposite direction but I agreed.
When we got to her apartment, instead of saying thanks and leaving, she said she wants to talk to me. Obviously I didn't want to leave my friend alone in the car, but he just smiled and said I should say goodnight to my girlfriend. He's always very sweet and indulgent to the people I date, to the point it's a little frustrating.
Once we were alone, she blew up at me, claiming I ignored her all evening. She got mad at me, saying that gege was wearing jeans and a full sleeve shirt while she was wearing a short dress and I gave my jacket to him instead. I explained to her that his immune system is weak so if he caught a chill he'd be sick way longer than if she got a cold.
That was our first argument. She got over it in a few days. but I didn't want her around gege anymore lest she said something about me "picking him over her" and made him feel guilty for no reason.
Afterwards she invited me to be her plus one at her cousin's wedding. I said I'd go but just two days before gege got really sick. I said I'd stay with him, but he insisted I go to the wedding and he'd get someone else to look after him. He mentioned this guy who I absolutely hate and that's when I knew I couldn't leave him in anyone else's care.
Gege's friend is a terrible influence on him. He's an idiot with no brain and a creep who clearly wants to take advantage of him. I absolutely could not leave the two of them alone when he was so vulnerable so I refused to leave him alone even for a few hours. Gege was too feverish to remember the wedding after the first day so he didn't say anything about it.
I was so busy taking care of him, I forgot to tell her I wouldn't be able to come to the wedding. I didn't bother picking up my phone until gege was back on his feet and saw about 50 missed calls all from her. When I called her back she was screaming so loud, gege could hear her even though she wasn't on speaker. After I hung up on her, he looked so sad and said he was sorry for being the reason I couldn't go. I told him I didn't even want to go and it was just her cousin, but for the last week he's had a perpetual frown on his usually smiling face. I feel so terrible. I want to tell him it's not his fault, of course I'd choose his HEALTH over a date, but he's really beating himself up about it... I hate that I made him feel that way.
Top comment: THAT'S THE PART YOU FEEL GUILTY FOR???? THAT YOUR GEGE FEELS BAD????????? NOT HOW YOU MISTREATED YOUR POOR GIRLFRIEND?????
Second comment: just fuck your best friend instead of making her suffer bro 😭😭

In The Name of Love | Chapter 34
Previous chapter | Epilogue
Masterlist
I've been back in Barcelona for a couple of months now, and so far everything has been great.
I took my mum to Rome, where we stayed for a week doing all the touristy things you could think of, eating our weight in gelato, and having long conversations that have made us understand each other a lot better, finally managing to have a good relationship.
I also went with Marina and David to Mykonos, a place they both had always dreamt to visit. Though it wasn't as dreamy as they thought. After a couple of days struggling to find somewhere that wasn't too crowded or full of tourists, we decided to just stay at our villa. During the day we would lay in the sun, take advantage of our private swimming pool or just sleep and relax, and at night we would sit outside drinking some wine, talking and laughing about anything and everything. We realized that we didn't need to go to a fancy place to have fun. Being together was all that mattered.
And now I am back home, getting everything ready for the new school year, feeling as excited about it as I did the first time I got to properly teach.
"Do you remember how we spent the day before looking through both your wardrobe and mine trying to find the perfect outfit for your first day as a teacher?" Silvia asks me while we are chilling on the sofa.
"I remember that the house was a mess afterwards."
"Yeah, that too" she laughs. "But you looked really cute."
"I did, didn't I? I got many compliments from the other teachers. One of them even tried to flirt with me."
"I mean, it was a really nice dress. Do you still have it?"
"I gave it away when we did that big spring cleaning a couple of years ago."
"Oh, shame… But have you kept any photo where you are wearing it?"
"Of course I have. You made me take a bunch before I left for work so I could remember that day" I laugh.
"I was a proud mum" Silvia smiles. "Can you search for them?"
"Just promise not to make fun of me if I look ridiculous" I say, unlocking my phone. "It was a different time."
"You didn't look ridi… Val. Val, hey, what is it?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are you crying? That bad are those photos?"
"No, it's just… I hadn't realized… today."
"Uh?" Silvia says with a confused look.
"Today is my anniversary with Pedri… or was. And the memories thing on my phone showed me a photo of us together and…"
"Aww, Val. I'm sorry."
"It's ok" I say, wiping away my tears. "It's a good memory."
"Can I see it? The photo with him, I mean."
"Sure" I reply, giving her my phone. "It's at his secret beach as he called it, the one where he took me when we started seeing each other. The 14 of each month we would try to go there to watch the sunset and eat something, and we would spend our time talking about the most random things until it got dark and too cold. It was just us, and it was… perfect."
"It does sound perfect" she smiles.
"Today it is so hot that we would have probably gone for a swim and then buy some ice cream."
"What if… what if we do that?"
"What?" I ask.
"Go for a swim and buy some ice cream. I know I am not him, but…"
"I would love that" I smile.
"Great" Silvia says, getting up from the sofa and offering me her hand. "Shall we?"
"Let's go."
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"You don't have to do it, Val."
"I know. But I want to" I say, opening the car's door. After going for a swim and getting some ice cream with Silvia, I asked her to drive me to the beach Pedri and I used to go to. For some reason, I felt like I needed to be there today.
"Do you want me to go with you?" she asks.
"Please" I nod.
We walk in silence, Silvia holding my hand and giving it little squeezes as we get closer to the lookout from where you can see the whole beach.
"This is beautiful, Val" she says.
"It is" I whisper, taking in the view. There are a couple of fluffy clouds here and there, the sea is calm, and the light is making the sand look almost golden. The sand. There is someone walking on the sand, someone… It can't be.
"Ouch, Val! That hurts!" Silvia says when I squeeze her hand as if my life depended on it.
"It's him."
"What?"
"Down there" I say, my eyes fixed on the beach. "That's him. He's here."
"Who… Oh, shit. That is him."
"What do I do, Silvia?"
"Go down there, of course!"
"What? No! I can't… I can't do that."
"You can and you will, Val. Go tell Pedri that you still love him and that you want to spend the rest of your life with him."
"But what if he doesn't want to see me? What if he has moved on?" I say, looking at him while he kicks the sand.
"Val, do you really think that if he had moved on, he would be here on a day like today?"
"I…"
"Besides, what has Ferran been telling you all these months?"
"That he still loves me."
"Exactly. So go down there and get back with your teenage boy."
"He isn't a teenager anymore" I chuckle.
"Even better."
"But Silvia…"
"You were waiting for destiny to give you a sign, right? Well, this is it. Now go" she says, pushing me towards the stairs.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"Ok, Valeria. You can do this" I say to myself. He is standing with his back to me and looking at the sea, completely oblivious of the fact that I am behind him, that I also am here. "Pedri?" I call, my voice sounding all squeaky. But he doesn't say anything, just shakes his head. "Pedri" I say again, this time a bit louder.
"Yeah, I've completely lost it" he laughs, running a hand through his hair.
"Lost what?" I ask.
"My sanity, Val. I can hear your voice as if you were here with me."
"I am here, Pedri."
"You are in my head."
"I'm here" I repeat, putting my hand on his shoulder, my touch making him flinch.
"That's an illusion. I've completely lost my mind, you aren't real."
"I am real and I am here" I say, now moving to be in front of him. "Open your eyes, Pedri."
"No."
"What?"
"If I open my eyes you will leave."
"I'm not going anywhere, Pedri" I say, caressing his cheek and wiping away a tear.
"I can't lose you again, Val" he says, resting his hand on top of mine.
"You won't, because I am not going anywhere. Please open your eyes."
"I can't."
"Pedri, please" I beg him. Now I am the one who is crying.
"Val…"
"I'm not going anywhere, Pedri. I promise. I want to be with you, to spend the rest of my life with you, to fight for this, for us. And I don't care if I have to do it against a horde of crazy teenagers, bullies like Isabel, or judgy parents who have nothing better to do than gossip. I'm done with letting people's opinions rule my life."
"Val…" he repeats, his voice now almost a whisper.
"You know, I've never believed in love at first sight" I continue. "I always thought it was something from fairy tales, something that didn't exist. But then, on a day like today, in a club I had never set foot before, I met you and you completely changed my mind. Because I fell in love the moment we locked eyes and you smiled at me, Pedri. It was all that smile, to be honest. The one that by now you know makes me giggle like an idiot and feel funny things in my stomach. And when I think of the way you made me feel when you kissed me, when you…"
"Made you scream my name on the rooftop?" he smirks, opening one eye.
"I was going to say it in a more cheesy way and you just ruined it."
"Damn it" he chuckles. "You saying something like that happens once in a blue moon."
"It does. And when it happens, it is because of you. Because I love you, Pedri. I love you in a way I've never loved anyone before, and in a way I think I will never love anyone else. It's you. It's you, Pedri" I say, both my hands cupping his face, my eyes fixed on his now that both of them are finally open. "It is and will always be you. Only you" I whisper.
"Can we kiss now or are you gonna keep being cheesy?" he smiles. And it is that smile, the one that completely disarmed me the night we met.
"Idiot.”
"No one calls me idiot the way you do."
"I know" I smile back.
"But before we kiss…" he says. "Can I confess something?”
"Ok."
"Ferran has been telling me almost daily to not give up, to be patient, that you still loved me and wanted me back, that we are destined to be together… So to keep reminding myself of all that, I've been coming here every 14 since you left, hoping that somehow you would show up."
"Really?"
"Yeah… I know it was a bit stupid because I knew you were in Manchester, but… I don't know. I just felt like I had to, you know?"
"It isn't stupid, Pedri. Because today I felt like I had to come here, it was like something was calling me… You."
"Glad to know my plan worked out" he laughs. "Why are you smiling like that?"
"I had missed your laugh" I shrug. "But that won't happen ever again. And do you know why?"
"Enlighten me, Valeria" he says with a teasing smile.
"It won't happen again because I'm not going anywhere, Pedri. I promise."
"Are you sure? Because you know how serious our promises are. You can't go back on it now" he says.
"I won't. I'm here to stay" I say, putting my hand over his heart. "Forever."
"Forever" he whispers before finally kissing me.
At first it is a very soft kiss, almost shy. But it doesn't take us too long until we are kissing as if our lives depended on it, as if we needed the other to breathe.
"I love you, Val" Pedri says when we manage to break apart. "I love you and I'm planning on telling you every hour of every day of the rest of my life."
"Isn't that a bit too much?" I laugh.
"It actually won't be enough."
"Dear lord, Pedro. You are so cheesy" I laugh again.
"Only for you, Val. Only for the love of my life" he smiles. "Happy anniversary, by the way."
"Happy anniversary" I reply with a matching smile before we start kissing again, the sun setting behind us as it did that first time on this beach. Like it did that first night at his house when he made me feel things I had never felt before.
The night that even if my brain kept denying it, my heart was already completely his.

S2 Ch 4 - The Beantown Bailout Job
Series Rewrite Masterlist
Pairing: Eliot Spencer x Ford!Reader
Description: The team is reunited in Boston and help a father-daughter pair with the mob.
Words: 5498
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up a little earlier than I normally do, got dressed and walked across the hall. I entered with my spare key and started making breakfast and coffee.
After the whole deal with Blackpoole, Nate was looking for a fresh start, and he decided that that would look like living close to me in Boston. He stayed with me for a few weeks while he got his stuff in order, and then the condo across the hall opened up. He decided to stay close. I didn’t mind, it meant I could keep an eye on him, make sure he was doing okay, especially since he stopped drinking, almost cold turkey.
I heard him walk down the stairs, “what are you doing here?
I looked up to see him in a well pressed suit, “well, it’s your first day at this new job isn’t it?”
I finished up the breakfast I was making right as the coffee maker indicated it was done. I handed them both to him at the counter before dishing myself a plate.
“Thank you, y/n.” He started to sip on his mug, “Do you have work going on today?”
“I’m vetting possible clients, but no projects, why?”
“Just curious. Uh, Sophie has a musical tonight, here in Boston. Do you wanna come with me?”
“Sure, sounds fun.” I halfway entertained the idea of everyone else being there, but the chances of that were slim. But imagining seeing Eliot again was still a bit fun.
He left shortly after, I finished cleaning up and returned to my own apartment. It was only a few hours later when I heard the door across the hall slam closed. I quickly called Nate.
“Yeah?”
“Was that you that just slammed your door closed?”
“Yeah.”
“What are you doing back already? It’s not even lunch time.”
“I quit.”
“What?”
“It was just too much.”
I sighed, “Okay.”
“I also helped this girl and her dad get out of a car wreck.”
“What?!”
“I’m a bit worried about them, something seems off. I might go visit them in the hospital again sometime…”
“Okay…”
“I’ll talk to you later.”
“Okay.”
The things this man gets himself into…
He knocked on my door that evening, walking in when I called him. I looked at the outfit he was wearing and looked at my own to see we were both in a nicer casual.
“Cool, let me grab my keys.”
We arrived at the theater with plenty of time to spare. As we looked around the opening foyer I heard a voice at the front desk.
“Parker. No, just one name.”
I touched Nate’s arm to point out that Parker was here. Soon as we looked around, I saw that the rest of the crew had come as well. We greeted each other before Sophie came out and said hi.
“I didn’t know you could sing,” Hardison commented to Sophie.
“You know, not as well as I act, but yeah.”
Hardison and Parker made a bit of horrified eye contact that left me confused. Hardison saw this and shook his head as if to say, ‘don’t ask.’
There was an awkward moment between Nate and Sophie before Sophie insisted on us all meeting up afterwards before she dashed off.
I guess it was time for the show.
It was awful, and that’s all that needs to be said.
We all went to McRory’s pub after the show. Sophie was distraught as Parker rad some of the reviews.
“Never before has a production of The Sound of Music made me root for the Nazis.”
I cringed a bit in sympathy.
Eliot sat down at the bar with Nate, he was surprised that he had stopped drinking, “how do you know about this place then?”
“We rent condos upstairs,” I told him.
“Condos? Plural?”
I looked at Nate, “we each needed our own space.”
Eliot only nodded.
Sophie stopped Parker, “No there is nothing you can say to make me feel better.”
“I know what can make you feel better. We should steal something.”
Nate opposed.
“Yes, we could do it together!” Sophie finally seemed excited.
“I like this. Get right back up on the bike.” Eliot commented
“Bike of crime,” Parker added.
“Didn’t you earlier tell me how great your new lives were?” Nate asked.
“Yeah, well, I stole the Hope Diamond.” Parker said, “Then I put it back. Yeah, because I was bored. Didn’t care.”
“I spent three days hacking the White House email. No buzz.”
“See?” Sophie pointed.
“But we are doing some pretty hinky stuff in Pakistan. Hinky…”
“Look, I’m miserable. They’re miserable…” Sophie said to Nate before asking Eliot, “Okay, what have you been doing the last six months?”
He hesitated, “I was in Pakistan…”
I raised an eyebrow at him, but he just shrugged.
“You… You see what you did?” Hardison asked Nate, “You took the world’s best criminals, hitter, hacker, grifter, thief. You took us and you broke us.”
“No, no. I… What I did, I taught you how to help people. That’s all.” Nate argued.
“Exactly.”
“This is the problem with being the good guy! It gets under your skin.” Eliot explained.
I just took a sip of my mild drink, watching this all happen.
“Look Nate,” Sophie said, “you have to have some poor little lost soul somewhere who needs a little extra legal aid.”
“Look, we agreed that we would just move on.”
“Yeah, but… we’re thieves!”
“Not me! Look, it was great. It was fun, it was wonderful while it lasted, but, you know, I was drunk for most of the time to be honest with you-”
“But you were good,” Eliot interrupted.
“You were the best.”
“We were the best.”
I smiled over my glass, watching them wear Nate down. This was good for him, they were good for him.
“Listen, I owe all of you, and I’m very proud of what we did, I really am, but… I got my life back and I intend to keep it that way.”
My smile fell. I tried to stare him down, but Nate was pointedly avoiding eye contact.
“And I am not a thief.” He stood from the bar and walked out, “it was great to see all of ya. Good night.”
I stood as well, “I’m sorry about him, maybe stick around town for a while? It was nice to see you guys again.”
“Don’t worry about it y/n. It was good to see you too.” Eliot said before everyone else said their goodbyes.
I caught up to Nate on the stairs.
“‘I got my life back?’ Nate, you don’t know what to do with yourself anymore!”
“Y/n, I’m going straight. I’m gonna get a job, a normal job! I’ll figure it out.”
“You better, because these guys saved you better than I ever could. Don’t throw them away.”
He looked at me, “Okay.”
“Okay, I’m going to bed. Don’t stay up too late.”
He waved me off as I stepped into my apartment. I contemplated working a bit more, but decided against it and went straight up to my room and crashed.
The next day I felt bad for what I said. I looked at the clock and figured he would probably be up by now, even if he quit his job. I walked across the hall, but could hear lots of things happening inside Nate’s apartment.
I knocked on the door and gently pushed it open, sticking my head in. “Nate?”
“Get out of there!”
“What?” I saw Nate was on the couch and he was looking towards the kitchen. I stepped in further to see that the whole crew was there in Nate’s apartment.
Nate looked over to me and waved me in further into the apartment as if to say, ‘fine, come on in.’
“What are you guys doing here? Get all this stuff out of here, you’re planning something I know it. Come on, get out of my house, out!” Nate got off the couch and started trying to shew the team away.
“Someone tried to kill you last night.”
“What?!”
Everyone snapped their heads over to me with a slightly guilty expression.
“I’m fine.”
Eliot turned back to Nate, “What do you want us to do man? You want us to just blow town, let you figure it out?”
“Yes, actually, that’s exactly what I want you to do.”
“Nate.” I gave him a pointed look, “what did we talk about last night? If someone tried to kill you then we’re gonna need some help.”
“We’re nothing y/n, you’re not getting involved with this.”
“Bullcrap, I’m a grown ass woman, and you obviously are acting like a child!”
Sophie interjected, not letting that go too far, “We found the phone number of the hospital in your pocket, Nate. We know what you did. We know you saved that guy’s life and the little girl, and we’re all really proud of you!”
I sat next to Eliot at the table, Parker on my other side, dressed like a nun, as he applauded Nate.
“Look, nobody else is gonna help that guy and his little girl, okay?” Hardison said seriously, “that’s what we do, we help people.”
Nate just continued to make coffee.
“By the way, I compared Sophie’s description of your attacker to the accident footage from the security camera.” He typed away at his laptop, “Do you realize that on average, people are caught on security cameras thirteen times a day?”
“That’s crazy,” I commented and Hardison nodded at me.
“It is crazy, but we can track him…” He trailed off, “I lost him in this.”
I peaked over the table to see the man on camera take papers out of the briefcase he stole from the man in the crash and dash off.
“Yeah, well, I found this empty briefcase belonging to Matt Kerrigan at that intersection” Eliot told Nate who was becoming more interested.
“It’s, uh, Boston Commonwealth Bank right?”
“No,” Nate corrected, “First Independent Boston. That’s where Kerrigan works, come on.”
I smiled, Hardison seeming to have the same thought as me.
“Who’s this guy?” Eliot pointed at the laptop, and I followed where he was pointing.
“You don’t know, do you? It’s Kerrigan’s boss, that guy, Leary.” Nate brushed off the stares he got from the crew.
“Well, who’s the other guy?”
“It’s not clear enough for facial recognition.”
“Well the problem is, those two cats went down to the safety deposit boxes.”
Parker stood, “which is the only room in every bank with absolutely no cameras.”
“Which means we up, baby,” Hardison stood and finished his priest outfit to fit with Parker’s nun. “They tried to kill Kerrigan for what was in the briefcase… We’re gonna steal it back.” He continued as the two of them left.
Eliot laughed, “She’s dressed that way because she’s doin’ a con…”
“What, you thought she was dressed like a nun for no reason?” Nate asked.
“It’s Parker,” Eliot pointed out.
“I didn’t question it either Nate,” I raised my hand. Eliot pointed at me appreciatively.
“Well, fair enough,” Nate conceded. “Okay, I want you out of my house, out.” Naate continued after a moment. He explained that he was going to get cleaned up and he wasn’t involved with any of it. He wanted everything out of his house.
After he went up stairs I turned to Sophie and Eliot who were still there, “you guys can stay, if you need to hide from him pop over to my place across the hall.” I stood from the table and walked towards the door, “keep me in the loop please, I wanna know what's going on!”
“We will, y/n, thank you!” Sophie called.
I heard Eliot mention something about all of Nate’s sports channels before I closed the door behind me.
It was a few hours later when Sophie called me back over to Nate’s place. I saw that they had really set up shop in his living room, practically begging for his participation. They gave me a quick recap of what happened, Parker and Hardison going to the bank and retrieving the files Kerrigan had, and then Eliot going to the mob’s fake businesses running into some mob people in the process.
Eliot unpacked a duffel, “This is all the stuff I found in the warehouse, in the boxes.”
Clothing and calendars clearly from the ‘80s were tossed around. I laughed as Parker put on a jacket with the largest shoulder pads I had ever seen.
“This stuff hasn’t left the warehouse since the 1980s” Sophie commented.
“I feel like a robot,” Parker swung her arms around while in the jacket.
“Wait, so if these are supposed to be just fake businesses, how come their financials are so squeaky clean?” Sophie asked.
I tilted my head and was about to speak when Nate beat me to it.
“Because they’re fake businesses.” He paused and tried to justify himself a bit before he continued when no one else commented, “Sophie, how do you catch mob guys?”
“Uh, two glasses of Chianti and a story about my grandma in Sicily.”
“How does the government catch mob guys?” He amended.
“Taxes,” multiple people answered.
“Eh, that’s how they got Capone,” Hardison commented.
“That’s how they get everybody,” Sophie added, “they never get you for the crime, they always get you for the taxes. It’s not really fair.”
“So thirty years ago the O’Hares got very smart,” Nate started with his explanation. “You see, they set up all these shell companies: fake sales, fake receipts. They launder all their money through them.”
“And everybody in the family gets a salary,” Hardison realizes. “Yeah, they pay withholding, payroll taxes, pension. It’s all old school.”
“That’s why the businesses are clean,” Eliot adds, “They’re dirty from the inside.”
I found it fascinating how they bounced off each other so easily, it almost seemed like it was rehearsed. Like perhaps they were egging Nate on.
“Well, yeah, if you have a body in the trunk of your car, you’re gonna drive under the speed limit, aren’t you?” Nate explained.
“You know, when you’re sober your metaphors get creepier,” Parker tells him.
“I mean, he’s not wrong though.” Everyone turned towards me and I shrugged.
“But, wait wait,” Hardison interjects, “that still doesn’t explain the last six months of running up bad loans.”
“All from a bank that’s about to close” Sophie mentions.
“Close?” Nate asked. “No, not close. Get bailed out.” Nate stood from where he was perched on his desk and approached us, “Look, we got a banker in the pocket of the mob. Mob takes out bad loans, cleans out the bank, knowing, three days from now, the government’s gonna come along and then, you know, bail the bank out.”
Eliot sat next to me on the couch as Nate stepped to the front of the group as he explained their operation. I smiled at him and how his knee brushed against mine before turning back to Nate.
“I mean, it’s perfect. You know, I don’t even think it’s illegal. It’s…” He paused, looking out the window before turning back to us, “I mean, if we were gonna do this… this job…”
“Just this one job,” Sophie said.
“Yes, just this one… I mean the con you’d wanna do…”
“Hypothetically,” Hardison added.
“Hypothetically, you know, is the turnabout, of course.”
“Ohh, that is a good one!” Sophie cheers.
I looked back and forth from her to Nate. I have never felt so lost.
“You know, it takes five people to do the turnabout,” Eliot mentions.
“That’s true, there's just four of us,” Sophie said.
“And a half,” Eliot glances at me with a shrug, “just saying.”
I smirked as Nate glared at the two of us.
“One more person, hmm,” Parker eggs a bit.
“Yeah, we gotta scare the banker into turning against the mob,” Nate said contemplatively. “Alright. Alright, we’ll do this job, just this one.”
The rest humbly agreed with him, acting as if it were a surprise.
“Hardison, you and Parker, you’re gonna be on the badge,” Nate directed. “Eliot, sheepdog. Sophie-”
“Ice queen!” She completed.
“And I’m the bag man. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go call a professional killer who tried to murder me and arrange to meet him in an isolated location.”
I slowly raised my hand.
“You are going to stay here. You’ll be lucky if you get to participate in this one.”
I sighed, “Fair… I guess. Can you tell me what a turnabout con is?”
“All in due time.” He walked off, presumably to make his phone call.
“See that? He did miss us!” Sophie awed.
“More than he’d like to admit, that’s for sure,” I looked at all of them before adding, “but I didn’t tell you that.”
They all smiled and nodded, Hardison making a zipped lips motion.
Everyone got ready for their respective roles, and while I wasn’t involved, they let me out of the apartment to observe, and maybe help a little. I came along with Hardison, Parker, and Eliot. I waited around the corner until Eliot finished his intimidating stare passing by Leary. When he came around the corner, he handed me a few of the mini explosive charges to help place them on the wall of the bank.
“Hey, this detonator, if I’m around the corner, is it still gonna be in range?” Eliot asked Hardison while we walked away.
“Should be. I haven’t worked out all the kinks yet… Sometimes the things just go off,” Hardison answered.
I blanched a bit, “What?”
Eliot stopped him, “Wait, hey. I thought you said this thing was safe.”
“Mostly. Mostly safe. I was very specific. Sometimes the frequencies get messed up.”
“What frequencies, man? Huh? I got these things in my pants,” Eliot scrambled, reaching into his pockets.
“Like, uh, you know, a garage door opener, a car alarm.”
Just then a woman came out of the bank and accidentally set off her car alarm near us. Eliot and I flinched and I became very aware of the few left over explosives in my hand.
I quickly shoved them into Hardison’s hands, “take them.”
Eliot was still digging them out of his pockets when Parker asked Hardison, “what are the odds that Eliot’s crotch will actually explode?”
“Dammit Hardison,” Eliot exclaimed as he walked off.
I cringed in sympathy while Hardison laughed. He called Sophie to get an update. Everything seemed to be going to plan with Nate and Sophie having an in with the mob and we went to meet them back at Nate’s apartment with the exception of Eliot who would stick around for Leary. He would set off the explosives acting like gunshots once he came out of the bank.
Once Nate came back and it was determined he was no worse for wear, he decided he was going to go visit the Kerrigans.
“Do you want me to come with you?” I asked, while I knew he was much better with hospitals now, it didn’t hurt to have someone with him.
He contemplated for a second before nodding.
Once we arrived at the father’s hospital room, we approached the daughter sitting next to him. Nate said hi first and then introduced me to her. I sat next to her with Nate standing on the other side of the bed.
She was fiddling with a necklace she had on, but stopped when she noticed I had noticed, “Nervous habit.”
I nodded, “what is that?”
She picked it up again to look at it, “St. Brigid. My mother’s name. Dad got it for me after she died.”
“So how are you doing?” Nate asked her after a moment.
Her face twisted in disappointment, “They say the accident is his fault.”
“No,” Nate quickly replied, “No, now listen, your dad, he found some papers at work, and he was trying to figure out what they meant, and he got a little too close to something…”
“No, but it’s not his fault. It was my fault," she insisted.
I placed my hand on her shoulder, “No, no, it wasn’t your fault.”
“He said something was bothering him at work. I told him to call the police, and now… now they…” she trailed off before speaking again. “There are wolves in the world. That’s what dad says, ‘be careful, Zoe. There are wolves in the world.’”
Nate nodded and circled the bed to crouch next to her, “He was not wrong.”
She grasped her father’s hand, “so the world’s just like this, huh? Bad people do bad things, and they always get away with it. Nobody stops them.”
I looked at Nate who had the same grim look on his face as I did. We stayed for a little bit longer, but it soon came time to get back.
The plan was coming to its final act. Hardison passed out new earbuds while explaining that they were more comfortable and even better than before. I put one in and realized that they were more comfortable than I remembered them.
“Okay, if this works, our friend Mr. Leary, he goes to the State Police, he runs, he spills his guts. Eliot, make sure he gets there.”
“I’m on it.”
“Wait, Eliot,” Nate called him, looking at me.
He turned back.
“Take y/n with you. Keep her safe, please. She should be good with surveillance.”
I smiled before following Eliot.
Nate grabbed my arm when I passed, “Be careful.”
“I will.”
We didn’t talk much when watching for Leary. We quickly followed when he got in his car and drove off. Everything seemed to be going great at first. Nate was talking to the O’Hares when Leary started making a few wrong turns if he were going to the police.
“Eliot, where is he going?”
He grunted, “I don’t know yet.”
Soon he pulled into the harbor and we quickly swung around to the other side before following on foot.
“Eliot, y/n, is Leary with the cops? We don’t have a lot of room for error,” Nate asked through the comms.
“Uh, slight problem Nate,” I responded.
“Leary drove down to the waterfront, dumped his car. He’s headin’ right for you.” Eliot tucked me behind him when Leary walked past.
“He was supposed to go to the cops.”
“Well then I don’t know what he’s doing,” Eliot responded to Nate before turning to me. “I’m gonna follow him, you go back to the car, I don’t know what’s going on. Stay safe and out of sight from the mob guys.”
I opened my mouth, but didn’t say anything. I quickly closed it and nodded before turning back towards the car we came in. As much as I wanted to help, I was in way over my head here. On the way to the car, there was a group of mob guys approaching. I quickly ducked behind some junk and debris and held my breath as they passed by my hiding spot. I peeked around to see that there was one who stuck around the area of my escape route. Luckily he was far enough away to not notice me, but if I moved too much, or tried to run, that wasn’t guaranteed.
I whispered, hoping Hardison was right that the comm would pick it up, “Eliot, be careful, there's mob guys coming your way.”
“Okay, guys, it’s not O’Hare,” I heard Nate through my comm.
“What?” Sophie asked.
“Uh, no. O’Hare is not the boss is what I’m saying.”
“No. This whole con was built around O’Hare.”
“Ooh, they’re probably gonna shoot Nate in the face,” Parker said.
“Uh, Parker, I can hear you.”
I bit my lip, trying not to make a sound. I kept peeking around to see that the mob guy was still there, just smoking a cigarette leisurely.
Parker apologized as Sophie emphasized our predicament.
“Alright, listen, we’re gonna have to make this one up as we go.”
I listened as Nate talked to O’Hare and Leary, trying to smooth over some wrinkles. I peeked out again to see the guy had finished his cigarette and walked off in the same direction as the previous group. I waited for him to pass and get far enough away before dashing off to the car. Luckily there was nobody else in the way of me getting further from the warehouse. I slipped in the car with a sigh of relief and locked myself in. I eagerly listened to my comm to find out what was going on.
There was some grunting and rustling that seemed to come from Eliot, “Alright, alright!”
“Eliot?” I asked, “Are you okay?”
I only heard an intentional hum in reply before Eliot whispered to someone, “You better know what you’re doing.”
There was a beat before Nate called, “Hey, hey, he’s got a state trooper badge!”
I could hear other people talking, but not what they were saying before Eliot whispered a “woah.”
Then I heard more clearly from O’Hare, “you kill him. I fixed Kerrigan’s breaks, I’m not killing a cop!”
“Look, you screwed up Kerrigan!” Leary replied.
“No, uh, he’s right. You’re right. He’s-” Nate stuttered along before he was cut off by what sounded like gunshots.
I yelled, “Nate? Eliot? Guys, what’s going on?!”
Hardison responded in my ear, “it’s all good, just stay put, we got this.”
Sophie started speaking in character, “has he got a wire? Come on Ford, get with it! Check him for a wire!”
I sighed in relief, they’ve got this.
“Yes, right on it,” Nate responded.
“This isn’t how we do it in Boston,” I heard O’Hare say.
“Really? This is exactly how we do it in London, except we usually use a razor blade.”
I shivered at the connotation, Sophie could be scary while in character.
“No wire… He has his cellphone though!” Nate called.
“Hit redial, see who he called,” Sophie said to Leary once he said there was no speed dial number saved. “Leary, right? Annie Kroy,” Sophie introduced herself, “nice little number with the banks there. It’s a shame the rest of your operation’s a bit of a balls-up.”
I heard someone’s phone ringing before Leary asked, “O’Hare? Why was a cop’s last phone call to you?”
I was confused too, I thought back and Eliot never called O’Hare. I realized though, that Nate was supposed to call O’Hare after Eliot and I left. Nate must have given them his phone instead!
“This is… This is a setup,” O’Hare tried to explain.
“How is this a setup?” Leary asked. “She shot the cop.”
“Yeah, and he’s the one that dialed the phone,” Sophie added.
“You didn’t want us to shoot him either, did you?” Leary accused, “Why, did you know him?”
“It wasn’t like that! Come on, you know I was in this thing from the beginning.”
I smiled hearing them bicker and turn on each other. This team sure does know how to create chaos.
“Why… why would I be involved?”
Leary called for his people to follow him, so I assumed O’Hare ran away.
Eliot stashed the car in a spot where I could see Hardison and Parker peel around the corner towards the warehouse where it sounded like they picked up O’Hare. I listened as they got O’Hare to admit to the bank fraud, Leary’s part in it, as well as the Kerrigan hit.
“Yes!” I cheered, “Hardison, did you record that?”
I heard it played back in my ear as a confirmation.
“Those were the state cops who questioned me!” Leary was back in the warehouse, supposedly with Sophie and Nate.
“Well, do they got any evidence?” Sophie asked.
“No, no, nothing real, just O’Hare’s word against mine.”
“And no documents?”
“No. No, no, I have those. But Kerrigan saw them.”
“And there’s just one problem,” Nate said, “we’re screwed if he wakes up.”
“He won’t,” Leary replied, “Kerrigan’s the last loose end. I’ll take care of him myself.”
“Hey, hey! Whoa, whoa, wait. What about him?”
“Him? Hey, I never touched him. Your fingerprints are all over him. I’ll clean up my mess, you clean up yours.”
I scoffed at how much of a scummy guy Leary was, “Did he really just say that?”
“Afraid so, y/n,” Nate replied. “So, how’d you do it?”
I heard a grunt from Eliot, “Detonator… Ketchup.”
“Ah, the classics.”
“Is that what those gunshots were?” I asked.
“Yes, dear, Eliot had a lovely death scene,” Sophie answered excitedly.
Eliot met me back at the car, sliding into the driver's seat.
“Are you okay?” I asked one more time.
He smiled at me, “Yeah, I might be a little sore, but fine.” He looked down at his chest, “need a new shirt though.”
I looked at his shirt, and sure enough, he had holes and ketchup everywhere causing me to laugh.
“Were you okay?” He asked me as he put the car in drive.
“Yeah, just had to play hide and seek with some mob guys before getting here, but all good. I was entertained listening to the whole affair from here.”
He rolled his eyes with a smirk as we drove back to the apartment.
It was a few days later when Kerrigan was well enough to come into the pub where Nate handed over a check. It was from the IRS for Kerrigan finding the tax fraud. He thanked us and started to walk away, but Zoe stayed for a moment.
She hugged me and then Nate, thanking us as well. “There are wolves in the world,” she said while looking at all of us, “but sometimes they’re the good guys, I guess.” She took Nate’s hand and placed what I saw was her necklace in it.
Nate admired it after she walked away.
“Still your last job?” Sophie asked him.
“Well, uh, maybe, um” Nate stumbled over his words, “I mean, you know, until I find a job I like enough, you know, to stay out of the bars.”
“Idle hands are the devil’s workshop,” Hardison said.
“And then I’m out, I’m done.”
The others agreed half heartedly, as if they didn’t believe him. For the record, I didn’t either. Eliot, Parker, and Hardison left, and I followed shortly after, leaving Nate and Sophie alone. It was a crazy life they all led, and I couldn’t help but think I couldn’t wait until the next time.
I climbed the stairs and glanced at Nate’s door to see it slightly ajar. Curious, I pushed it open and peaked in. Inside I saw Hardison start to set up some TVs.
“Hello?”
He looked up at me, “Oh, hey! You wanna come help me level this?”
I approached cautiously, but helped nevertheless, “What are these for?”
“These are awesome for briefings and watching cameras, sports too.”
“Where’s Parker and Eliot?”
“She’s grabbing some stuff, Eliot’s working next door.”
“Next door-”
The door opened and shut and I looked over to see Nate walk in.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! What are you doing there?” He said once he saw us.
“I’m runnin’ this CAT-5 cable to the-”
“Oh, no, no, no, no. You don’t understand. I don’t want to have these monitors in my apartment,” he explained before turning to me, “and why are you helping him?”
I shrugged, “I just didn’t ask questions.”
“Coming through!” Parker came in holding a large painting.
Nate backtracked towards her, “No! Parker, no! Not that painting! I don’t ever want to see that painting.”
Parker stopped and waved it in front of her as she spoke in a funny voice, “Hi, I’m old Nate and I live here too!”
“You can’t just break in here and start hanging stuff…”
Hardison stopped him, “For repairs and renovations, your landlord has full access to your dwellings. It’s in the lease.”
That made me pause, “What?”
“What are you doing reading my lease?”
“I bought the building!”
“You bought the…”
“You’re our landlord?” I hesitantly fist bumped Hardison when he offered it.
I flinched when a chainsaw noise started and followed Nate when he found where the noise was coming from. The chainsaw was coming from the other side of the wall through to Nate’s apartment.
Nate repeated no when he saw what was happening, but it was futile. Eliot walked in after cutting out a makeshift door covered in sawdust. He looked very proud of himself, but with the cloud of dust that came out, I couldn’t react other than sneeze.
Nate coughed before turning to me, “why didn’t they do this to your apartment? You’re the one who wanted them around.”
“Whoa,” Eliot said.
“We’re not gonna crash a lady’s apartment,” Hardison finished as if it were a no-brainer.
I huffed out a laugh and a shrug, not fighting it when Hardison and Parker wrapped their arms around Nate and I’s shoulders. What a day.
*me patiently waiting with a coffee cup for you to come back from your date to tell us everything like we're best friends since childhood and not complete strangers on the internet* BDFSJABFJDSANBFJKDSAÑNFKJSAÑNFKSAFÑ TELL US EWERYTHING
come one come all lets squeal together everything is under the cut
it was so so good and cute.
he picked me up at my house and put me in charge of the music and i played a band i know we both like, and then we went to a place that you can paint pottery and he's a great conversationalist, he's so easy to talk to and was great at asking questions, like the entire 30ish minute drive to the pottery place was just natural conversation. we got to the place, painted our pottery and then afterward walked around the little street because it was full of cute small shops. we got hot chocolate because it was freezing outside and while we were there, he asked about a second date, and of course i said yes, we talked about ideas for a second date, and he offered to cook for me in the future which was so cute. when we were in the hot chocolate place there was a small jazz band playing a song he liked and he said 'im about to drink hot chocolate, listening to a great band and im with a pretty girl im living the dream' or something and i was shut uppppp. he also refused to ever let me open my own door in the car lol, he always said ‘NO stay there’ and would open it for me. we drove around for little, talked about random things, i mentioned those bagel candles from tj maxxx (they went viral on tiktok for smelling terrible idk) and we went there and browsed around, then he dropped me off and he went to grab my hand again and kissed it and said ‘can i kiss something else’ and then i had my first kiss nbd and then he asked for one more and then i got home and could barely sleep lol.
(1) Like a Daydream (ENG/DE) — Friday, 26.07.24
(ENG)
Wow, if you haven't written a blog entry for a few days, you immediately realise how much you have to keep up to date in order to write everything as well as possible. So let's move on to my Friday. I had arranged to meet a friend in Itaewon (a district of Seoul) at 2.30 pm. To avoid wasting my time until then, I had decided to explore the N-Seoul Tower (or Namsan Tower). It was actually more tiring than I thought, but I really wanted to walk & not take the cable car. Just before I reached the top, it started pouring with rain. But that didn't deter me from my plan. On the contrary, the rain was a great way to cool off during my walk to the top. I then treated myself to an iced coffee and enjoyed the marvellous view. As quickly as the rain had come, it was gone again & I was able to continue my tour. Up here on the Namsan (that's the name of the mountain) you can find countless love locks or locks from people all around the world. I also hung my lock up here. Afterwards, I strolled along the platforms for quite a while. The view was breathtakingly beautiful & I fell a little more in love with this country. After enjoying the view, it was already time to make my way back to Itaewon. Even the way down was enough of a sight. Flowers, bushes and trees everywhere, providing shade in the heat. Once I arrived at the bottom, I took the bus & then walked a short distance. Most of the houses in Itaewon are a bit older, there are hardly any high-rise buildings here, just tiny alleyways and the charm of Korea. Before I met up with Yonghwa, I stopped off at a small café for a strawberry latte. We then set off together at 2.30 pm. By chance, we ended up in one of the more hidden cafés. A little dog greeted us at the entrance and the interior was super cosy, with fairy lights and plants, as well as a screen playing music videos. We must have spent almost 3 hours here & talked about lots of things. As we are both rather introverted people, there were also moments of silence, but that was also completely okay. At some point it got a bit cold because of the air conditioning and we headed off to get something to eat. Yonghwa showed me some meat (actually offal) that day. Sounds daunting at first, but I tried it & most of it was actually really tasty! At around 8.30pm we went in search of a small bar to have a drink. We found what we were looking for in the far corner of a house entrance. The bar was super small, but very nice. They picked up on the sea theme everywhere & you almost felt like you were in an aquarium. At around 23:00 we slowly but surely made our way towards the metro & said our goodbyes! When I got home, I just freshened up and fell into bed. I also didn't want to get up quite so late on Saturday to get everything done that I had planned.
To be continued...
(DE)
Wow, hat man mal ein paar Tage keinen Blogeintrag geschrieben, merkt man direkt wie sehr man doch hinterher sein muss, um alles so gut es geht wiederzugeben. Kommen wir also zu meinem Freitag. 14:30 Uhr hatte ich mich mit einer Freundin in Itaewon (einem Stadtteil von Seoul) verabredet. Um bis dahin nicht sinnlos meine Zeit zu vergeuden, hatte ich beschlossen den N-Seoul Tower (oder auch Namsan Tower) zu erkunden. Das war tatsächlich anstrengender als gedacht, aber ich wollte unbedingt laufen & nicht die Seilbahn nehmen. Kurz bevor ich oben angekommen war, fing es an wie aus Eimern zu schütten. Das hat mich aber nicht von meinem Plan abbringen lassen. Im Gegenteil, der Regen war eine gute Abkühlung während meiner Tour nach oben. Ich habe mir dann erstmal einen Eiskaffee gegönnt & die traumhafte Aussicht genossen. So schnell wie der Regen gekommen war, war er auch wieder weg & ich konnte meine Tour fortsetzen. Hier oben auf dem Namsan (so heißt der Berg) findet man unzählige Liebesschlösser oder Schlösser von Menschen von überall her. Auch ich habe mein Schloss hier oben aufgehängt. Danach bin ich eine ganze Weile auf den Plattformen entlang geschlendert. Die Aussicht war atemberaubend schön & ich habe wieder ein Stück mehr in dieses Land verliebt. Nachdem ich die Aussicht genossen hatte, wurde es auch schon wieder Zeit mich auf den Weg Richtung Itaewon zu machen. Selbst der Weg nach unten, war schon Sehenswürdigkeit genug. Überall Blumen, Sträucher & Bäume, die einem bei der Hitze Schatten spenden. Unten angekommen habe ich den Bus genommen & bin dann noch ein kleines Stück gelaufen. In Itaewon sind die meisten Häuser etwas älter, hier findet man kaum Hochhäuser, sondern kleinste Gassen und den Charme von Korea. Bevor ich mich mit Yonghwa getroffen hatte, bin nochmal in ein kleines Cafe abgebogen um dort einen Erdbeer-Latte zu trinken. Ab 14:30 Uhr sind wir dann gemeinsam losgezogen. Durch Zufall sind wir in einem der versteckteren Cafés gelandet. Ein kleiner Hund hat uns am Eingang begrüßt und der Innenraum war super gemütlich gestaltet, mit Lichterketten & Pflanzen, sowie eine Leinwand, an der Musikvideos abgespielt wurden. Hier haben wir bestimmt fast 3 Stunden verbracht & uns über vieles unterhalten. Da wir beide eher introvertierte Menschen sind, gab es auch mal Momente der Stille, aber auch das war völlig okay. Irgendwann wurde uns dann doch etwas kalt wegen der Klimaanlage & wir haben uns auf den Weg gemacht um etwas zu essen. Yonghwa hat mir an dem Tag Fleisch (tatsächlich Innereien) gezeigt. Klingt erstmal abschreckend, aber ich habe es probiert & das meiste war tatsächlich echt lecker! Gegen 20:30 Uhr haben wir uns dann noch auf die Suche nach einer kleinen Bar gemacht, um noch etwas zu trinken. In einem Hauseingang, in der hintersten Ecke, sind wir dann fündig geworden. Die Bar war super klein, aber sehr schön. Überall haben sie das Thema Meer aufgegriffen & man hat sich fast wie in einem Aquarium gefühlt. Gegen 23:00 haben wir uns dann langsam aber sicher in Richtung Metro begeben & uns verabschiedet! Zuhause angekommen habe ich mich nur noch frisch gemacht & bin ins Bett gefallen. Außerdem wollte ich am Samstag nicht ganz so spät aufstehen um alles zu schaffen, was ich mir vorgenommen hatte.
Fortsetzung folgt…
“Only One”
I felt butterflies in my stomach as I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant. I'm a little nervous since this is our first time meeting in person. I park the car and look down at my phone, "Hey gorgeous, I can't wait to see you in person after 3 long years of online chatting. I was too excited to wait outside so I already got us a table." I smiled as I read your message and lock my phone. I had on that one dress that you loved so much. You know the one that hugs my curves and make my ass look good enough to bite. I also had on the perfume that you sent me for my birthday a few months ago. Once I was outside of the car I locked the doors, fixed myself, and headed towards the entrance.
Inside I was greeted by the host. "Hello ma'am, how can I help you?" he asked me. "I'm looking for a friend." the host nodded his head and asked me to follow him. As I followed behind him, so many things were going through my head. I took a deep breath to clear my thoughts. Slowly exhaling I arrived at the table where you sat.
We make eye contact as you stand up from the table. It felt as if it was just the two of us alone in the restaurant. "Enjoy your night," the host said and walked away. You slowly approached me, never taking your eyes off me... not even for a second, take my hand and help me do a 360 for you. You embrace me in your arms, slowly sliding your hands down my back. You stop at my lower back, making sure not to go any further because we're in a public place.
"You look stunning tonight." As you're holding me you can't help but admire my aroma. "Mm, you smell good too. I can only wonder if you taste even better..." you whisper in my ear. It sent chills down my spine. I let out a quiet moan and you smirked. We let go of the hug and you help me inside the booth afterward you sit across from me.
As the night went on we ate, laughed, had a couple of drinks, and talked. I couldn't stop smiling at you all night. I just couldn't believe we'd finally met after 3 long, hard years. "Here's the bill, no rush." The waiter sat down the bill and we reach for it at the same time. You chuckle and I giggle. "Sorry about that... it's a force of habit," I say and let you pay. We exit the restaurant together and you walk me to my car.
"Here we are...." I say as we approach my car. You pull me into a hug and this time you didn't hesitate as you grab a fistful of my ass and squeeze it. I pull you close to me and kiss you passionately. You guide me to the car and slide one of your hands under my dress trying your hardest not to break the kiss. Once my body touched the car and yours pressed up against mines I could feel you growing, eagerly awaiting more. Your hand inched its way under me you noticed that I don't have any underwear.
"May I?" you ask and I part my legs open enough for you to have good access. You slowly slide two fingers inside me. "Fuck" you softly say as my juices drip down my thigh with each slow thrust you make. "Mm, fuck" I softly moan out. You slide your fingers out of me to taste them. "I should've had you for dinner instead." I smirked, "I'm always here if you want dessert." You lean down to kiss my neck but you we were soon interrupted by someone getting out of their car.
I was craving you so bad that I forgot we were still outside of the restaurant. "Let's go to my place. It's too much of a crowd out here." I nod my head and reached for my keys. You open my car door and smack my ass before helping me get inside. I start the engine and roll down the window. "I'll meet you there." You say then kiss me goodbye.
I arrive at your place and you're already at the door waiting for me. As I'm walking up to the door I can see that you're watching me. Probably visualizing me naked, I would suppose. You hold the door open for me as I walk inside the house and close it behind us. You come up behind me and softly kiss my neck "now where were we..." you say in between kisses. I softly moan while your hands start to roam my body. You start to help me out my dress making sure to caress my nipples in the process.
My dress hit the ground to reveal my fully exposed curvy body. You lick your lips and smirk then you grab me behind my neck and push me toward the end of the couch. Before bending me over you help spread my legs apart so you could get a good view. You bend me over and slowly caress my clit. I prop my leg up onto the couch to give you more access. You smacked my ass and run two fingers down my lips and slowly enter inside me. You dig your fingers deeper inside me feeling my tight walls grip your fingers. "shit..." you mumble under your breath. You slowly slide your fingers in and out of me while you use your free hand to pull your, full hard, and throbbing, dick out of your pants.
Once your dick was free, I throw my ass back to get you to go faster. You chuckled as you slide your fingers out of me and rub your dick with them. You stroke your dick and a little bit of precum oozes out. You rub it on your tip and position yourself behind me. I shake my ass and you slap it with your dick. You rub the head of your dick onto my lips feeling it get wetter as you tease me. You lend down and kiss my back as you slide inside me. My warm, tight walls gripped onto you causing your dick to throb inside me. It felt as if you were getting harder just for being inside me.
I moaned out after you were fully inside of me. You grab me by the waist and slowly thrust in and out of me. "Mm, fuck" I moaned out but you tuned me out and listened to the sounds of my juices gushing onto you while you stroked in and out of me. I use one of my hands and caress my clit while I throw my ass back on you. You speed up the pace and hit my spot. You become overthrown by my juices gushing out of me as I squirt. You pull out and watch as my juices squirt out of me.
"Ouuuu yess" You slide back inside of me, grab me by my hair, and thrust fast inside of me trying to hit my spot again. You succeed and I squirt again. The arm of the couch and floor was wet so you grab me by the back of my neck and help me up. You pick me up, slid inside of me, and put me on the wall while you grind inside of me. We make eye contact and passionately kiss each other. I moan against your lips as you hit my spot. You put your hands on my shoulders and hold onto them tight as I squirt again. You couldn't hold it in as you cum inside of me. "Fuuucccckkkk," you say as you slowly pull out and watch as my juices and your cum ooze out of me.
You smirk as you walk back over to the couch and put me down. "I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking." I laughed and you look at me with confusion. "I'm on birth control so it's okay." You chuckle a little. "Let's go for round two." You say as you softly grab me by the neck.
i wonder… 1, 19 (:3) 22, 26, 37 ? this is a lot at once so u don't need 2 answer all but u definitely have to answer 19
Aaaa tysm for the ask!!! I'm definitely gonna answer them all >:3
1) who is/are your comfort character(s)?
I have a couple! And they're from completely different walks of life. The first one is Goku from DBZ! He's been a comfort for me since I was around 4. I used to watch the anime with my friends growing up, and reenact the episodes with them after watching! I've always admired Goku's strength, and that no matter what he goes through he's still his goofy and caring self! He just seems like someone you'd wanna be friends with. There's also Spongebob, from the titularly named show Spongebob SquarePants. My favorite little yellow guy <3 He's also been a comfort since I was small. I just like how silly and naive he is, I'd probably be friends with him irl if he were real! Idc that his laugh is annoying that's my buddy!!! Also, I think it'd be awesome if the two of them met and became friends (like how Spongey and Danny Phantom hang out as friends. Can I quickly mention how cute of a friendship I think that is?? We were robbed of a Danny Phantom/Spongebob SquarePants crossover!) I watched a Goku vs Spongebob deathbattle once, it was cool. But like, what if they hung out instead? Spongebob could cook up a shit ton of Krabby Patties while Goku trains and they could enjoy them together afterwards. OR or or Goku training Spongebob, since Spongey like karate!! Mixed martial arts sometimes includes moves from katate right?? Goku could show him some new moves to kick Sandy's butt with!
19) imagine we’re at a sleepover, would you paint my nails?
Judging by how excited about this particular question you seem to be, I assume you really want your nails painted at the sleepover, so I'd definitely do it!! As long as you braid my hair afterwards. I'll let you pick out all your favorite colors from my nail polish collection (I've probably got as much as a nail salon does, even tho I don't really use them anymore. I really like colors). Or I'll paint your nails in rainbows with little hearts on them!! Do you prefer bright or pastel colors?
22) what type of person are you?
Aah well that's a complicated question, very broad. I'm an ambivert firstly, both parts outgoing and quiet. Some say I'm good with people and talking with them, meanwhile if I'm hanging out with almost anyone I burn out after a few hours, and need to spend a few more not talking (we can be in the same room, but I'd prefer to be alone during that time). Many describe me as caring and helpful too, even self sacrificing. I'm also very silly goofy and accident prone/clumsy. But stubborn at times, too. Hopefully this answers the question well enough?
26) a scenario that you’ve replayed multiple times?
Probably the first date with my datemate! Especially the beginning and end of it. I remember coming up the stairs of my apartment to meet him irl for the first time, and freezing halfway when I saw him coming out of the car. I was thinking "oh my god is this really happening, is this real life?? I can't do this! I can't face him in person I'm too nervous!!" The nerves lasted throughout the date (we hung out for like 10 hours!) And by the time he was about to go home we kissed for the first time and suddenly it felt like the nerves had been broken. Almost instantly a sense of comfort and familiarity washed over me and I didn't feel so anxious anymore to be around him. I particularly remember the hug we had afterwards (our first real hug) and how comfortable and warm it was. I nearly happy cried, and still tear up thinking about it >w<. It was in that moment I knew I was actually in love with him (we'd been in a long distance relationship for 6 months before meeting irl, and while we had within that span of time told each other "I love you", it didn't feel as real as it had when I'd finally had him in my arms). Sorry to get all sappy!!
37) someone in your life, other than a relative, you’ve known for 10+ years?
Not really, tbh!! Anyone that would have counted is no longer in my life. I could say my honorary uncle, since we have no blood relation, but that still counts as a relative I believe. I've never had many friends or close companions.
A month full of surprises
28. 05. 2024
Čau, everybody!
Even if I don't want to commit myself too much, I'll go out on a limb here and say, that May was one of the best months in the Czech Republic for me so far. It was a month full of happy moments and surprises and because I want to have enough time to shed light on all the highlights, I'll keep the introduction short and will not spoil everything already. So have fun reading on and I hope you’ll feel entertained today.;)
May started right away with a National holiday, the “Labour Day” and Tatiana and I used it to drink a coffee together and go to the cinema afterward. On the following weekend, Plzeň celebrated the liberation of the city by the Americans at the end of the Second World War. The city centre was full of onlookers who watched the parades of uniformed people in historical cars and learned more about the liberation at stands, lectures, and information boards. My friend Isabelle and I were also curious and therefore attended the festival. In addition to the lectures, we were also entertained by the concerts on three different stages, the performance of an American school orchestra and other acts in the city centre. There were also many booths with delicious food while the sun played along as well and made the day a wonderful experience for both of us.
The next holiday, known as "VE-Day" (Victory in Europe Day), the official end of the Second World War in Europe followed on the 8th of May. But that day I didn't stay in Plzeň, but made my way off to Poland, more precisely to the beautiful city of Wroclaw. Even though the trip didn't go as planned and our bus was stuck in a traffic jam for almost 3 hours, I received an even warmer welcome from my sister, when I arrived at our flat. After breakfast the next morning, we made our way to Slodowa Island, then on to Wroclaw Cathedral, and finally, after a short lunch break, to the so-called “Hala Stulecia ". When we arrived there, we were very surprised, as we felt like we had seen this building before and after we searched for it on the Internet, we found out that it was indeed a film set for the latest part of "The Hunger Games", which was released in cinemas in 2023. We bought some tickets for the interesting exhibition and then had the chance to see the hall from the inside, and well, rumor has it that there were one or two fan-girl moments when we entered the hall. ^^
After the visit we sat down at the nearby fountain to enjoy the sunny weather and cooled down a little bit before we made our way to the Japanese garden and after that back to the city centre. By the way, if you plan to visit Wroclaw and want to use public transport there, I would recommend that you hold on well to something on the tram because the tram drivers can be little rowdies sometimes. ;D
In the afternoon we had coffee and cake at a super cute café before heading home again, where we ended the day with a very relaxed evening. On Friday, things didn’t go quite as planned, as we went to the Sky Tower, the highest building in Wroclaw, just to find out that it wasn’t open already. Then my route planner sent me on a complete detour and my sister, who was already hangry, didn't feel like doing anything anymore. But then, thank God, we arrived at our destination, the Jewish cemetery, and the ticket seller, without knowing it, lightened our mood by asking "One way or return?”. ^^ The cemetery was very impressive and we spent some time there, before heading back to the centre, or to be more precise, right next to the Oder. At the “Café Odra,” we enjoyed our much-needed lunch and a cold drink and had a good time in the sunshine. After a walk home and an important little nap, we went to a pizzeria in the evening and finally to a nearby park, where we ended the day with a looooooong deep talk.
Our last day in Wroclaw started with checking out of our flat before heading to the so-called “Hydropolis”, a very interesting museum that we visited before making our way to the bus station, where we had our last coffee together – at least this was what I thought. Because, when it was time to say goodbye, my sister suddenly told me that she was not ready to say goodbye already and that she would like to come to Plzeň with me. And well, that’s how it went. She bought the LAST ticket for the bus and we made our way back to Plzeň and, even though I was very surprised in the beginning, I think it was the right decision because if I’m being honest with myself, I was also not ready to already say goodbye to her. ;)
This is why my next days looked different than expected, because we enjoyed the good weather together, drank iced coffee in my favourite cafes, went to the cinema and even at work my sister accompanied me. She attended the sports event we had on Tuesday and was our special guest at the English and German conversation. We even pranked one of my classes by having my sister pretend to be me and start the class before I joined in and finally clarified the situation. You should have seen the faces of my seniors haha. But of course, she was not able to stay forever, even though some probably liked the idea (including me) and so after she left on Wednesday, everything was going back to normal.
Well almost everything, because in TOTEM some other special events were following. Like the "Sousedský jarmark" one week later, which was indeed the next little surprise. While the whole week seemed to be quite sunny and nice, Friday turned out to be the complete opposite. And so we had to reschedule everything and move all stands and activities from outside to inside. On the day itself, everyone was a bit nervous, because no one knew how many people would come and if the atmosphere would be good or not. But what can I say, I think it was a big success! The house was full of people -from children to seniors- and the performances in the large hall as well as the stands in the small hall and other activities went really well and it seemed as if no one was letting the bad weather take their good mood. I also had my own stand and of course, performances with Adeto again, which were -as always- very exciting and fun. We also performed with Adeto the next day and, in my opinion, delivered a great appearance in Beseda, "a 3-story centre for arts events, conferences, and children's activities in a magnificent Art Nouveau building." After that, I met with volunteers from Brno and spent a nice afternoon with them, where we not only laughed together but also reflected on our voluntary service so far and our thoughts of it ending soon. Well, we all came to the conclusion that we don’t really want it to end and that we would wish to stay a bit longer because, for all of us, it feels a little bit like a second home already.
Speaking of second home, on the following Sunday I once again had the feeling of belonging a little bit more to the Czech society, when we went to the finals of the Ice Hockey World Championship. As we arrived at the public viewing in the centre the place was already full of people and it was even hard to find a place, where we were able to watch the match without always standing on our tiptoes and craning our necks, but in the end, we found a good spot and followed the very exciting match. Even though the Czech Republic was dominating the match against Switzerland they only got a draw in the first two thirds, but then, 10 minutes before the end, they finally shot their first goal. And when their second goal 15 seconds before the final siren followed everyone in the crowd was cheering. And I was so overwhelmed and happy to be part of this historical moment. Well, this was what I would call the last real surprise in May, as the Czech Republic seemed to be the outsiders during the last years but then proved everyone wrong! For me, it was a great honor to be part of the spectacle and the great celebration afterward, and even though they say “Kdo neskáče, není Čech. Hop, hop, hop“, of course, I had to celebrate with all my might. =D
… and again, I’m very grateful for this month and everything I was able to experience during the last weeks. I promised myself to make the best out of my last months in Plzeň and I think that I have done quite well so far.;)
Next week I will be home for some days but then I’ll be back here and enjoy my last two months in the Czech Republic. I’m looking forward to summer and everything I will experience during it and of course I will keep you updated on everything about to happen.
With that being said stay tuned and we'll see each other again in June.
Sbohem!
Laila ;)
February 2024
Waking up after a dream inspired by the movie Poor Things. Inserting your brain into a younger body. Living in oblivion until one day somebody shows up to break the news to you. That you've lived another lifetime before and you have to be reminded of who you were, what you knew.
Drawing the gorgeous Sharing card, resonating with it right away. The Queen of Fire is designed in my colours and shapes. She is me.
Sketching something. Loving every line.
Eating a thick soup with tiny noodles and semolina dumplings for breakfast.
Jamie Lee Curtis' guest appearance in The Bear. She's almost unrecognizable. Oh, and Olivia Coleman's, too!
Something finally falling into place: I've been searching for a new wallet for a while now and suddenly a memory of my grandma's old Aigner checkbook popped into my head. And it was the perfect solution. What an amazing local brand! I discovered that there is a store nearby and shopping there was quite the experience. I felt very fancy. And they put so much thought into the product design! Perfect little boxes and everything is so elegant. I also got their classic leather belt.
Organising a SingStar evening. I love how easygoing, welcoming and gentle Felix is. Being weird with Robert. And Ben, my boo. We love each other's colours and he really does give the best compliments (he said that I've got such great taste and always look stylish). Cuddles, leveling up our friendship in a way. Being more at ease around each other.
Car conversations with Luna.
A feeling of having leveled up again; I seem to attract abundance (on a material level). But maybe that's just confirmation bias.
Accepting defeat when I was wrong, following advice.
The moonrise. I love how big and yellow the moon seems when it's hanging low over the horizon.
Liquid Love: sliding over/around/under/on top of each other - blindfolded, naked and covered in oil. I loved touching squishy, chubby body parts. Very sensual and immersive. I wasn't really present in the room anymore and tried to feel rather than think. Cuddle puddle afterwards. I got close to Chili and Daniel (whose toe I accidentally hurt before the event and it felt quite healing that he came close to me and initiated touch) and Christian surprised me with his tongue when I wasn't paying attention.
Interesting effects of Kundalini Yoga: waking up crying from a very emotional, nightmare-ish dream. Feeling so heavy, sluggish, overwhelmed, tired. It's not entirely positive but it's so interesting how much energy seems to be moved here?
An ex-student reaching out to me because she needed a letter of recommendation for an international college.
Walking through the forest with C., scouting a treasure hunt route. Keeping calm despite his weird mood. Staying present, observing.
A surprisingly calm museum visit with my class. And when we went to Pinakothek der Moderne I was happy how much fun some of them seemed to have experimenting, talking about art. I found some interesting works by Max Ernst and set the intention come back again soon, alone. Even just the large, empty building with the high ceilings has a soothing effect on me.
Biting into a slice of moist, warm black olive ciabatta.
Cooking actual food with vegetables I had at home and having fruit for dessert instead of getting trash food on the way home after coming home from work in a bad mood. So much more nourishing. I'm proud of myself for realising I have to be the person I want to become. Now.
Peeling off last post-it before the cool colour scheme finally started. Orange, yellow, purple.
Picking up C. from labour court. Meeting his friend Benni who discussed leftist concepts and utopian ideas with me over lunch. I felt really good when I realised that it was easy for me to follow his train of thought and that I'd missed intellectual conversation.
Connecting with C. Spending time together, walking through a furniture design store. Spicy time and a long afternoon nap. Talking about our triggers and therapy experience. I realised how much fear of failure (and success?) I have, how vulnerable my ego is when it comes to art and doing something new. Even just writing an application for a job I'm not officially qualified for scared the shit out of me. Impostor syndrom? C. still wants me to write a page from my imaginary novel for him and all I can think about is why I can't do it. And he suggested that I could study psychology. I'm intrigued and yet... Why is this so hard? What's holing me back?
Staying calm when I had to call roadside assistance twice in one afternoon. My car broke down in the middle of a busy street with three lanes. I simply accepted my fate and asked for help (and that might actually be the lesson I have to learn from all this).
Reaching out to Andrea. Finally meeting Kosta the cat.
A dream: Sarah as Ganesha with a giant elephant trunk. Facial tattoos: red, black and green symbols and ornaments. Massive, moving, heavy. I woke up from an imaginary alarm sound. Did I really dream up an alarm clock? Wow. And just in time for my appointment, too.
New Moon Aquarius promises a career breakthrough for Taureans. Let's hope for the best.
Something very banal: having kitchen roll at home for a change. I took one home when we had too many after a Slutering event and remembered that I could just... wipe something off without worrying about getting the rag dirty and having to wash it! Nice.
One of the best weeks of my life: a Hero's Journey seminar during the spring holidays. Going in with no expectations, receiving everything and more. I learned so much about myself. Activated my emotional side and practised feeling. I appreciate all those people who acted as my mirrors by sharing their vulnerability, being their authentic selves. We supported each other, learned from each other, celebrated each other. I'm thinking about becoming a Gestalt therapist now. It's such a great somatic method. And fun, too.
Cuddles. Conversations. Choking. And massages. / Seriously though, I asked Ralf to show me his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu choke hold and I travelled to another dimension for a few minutes. It got me GO high. On another note: I realised I want to channel my aggression and lust in a healthy way. Perhapy BJJ training is a good option. Let's fight!
My hero outfit. A golden robe. A glitter mask. Starburst earrings. Black wings. So me.
"Boundaries are not the same thing as walls." - such an important insight. I started journalling in German. Automatically. I'm taking off masks, tearing down walls. Perhaps I don't need the protection of a foreign language anymore. I can feel my own cringey words now. I allow myself to be seen without make-up. I try to show up as the person I really am. I won't hold back anymore.
An intuitive painting I made with buttery crayons on kraft paper. Swirly. Like a weird map of a cozy corner somewhere in the Universe.
Stickers from Franzi's friend: Sailor Moon characters fighting the patriarchy and nazis.
I feel so much love for the people in my group, especially Ralf and Teresa of course, but also Franzi, Frank and Feli. The F-gang. And for all the wonderful people in my life. I appreaciate Christian so much. The ideal balance between freedom and support. He expands my horizon in many ways and I love how he naturally includes me in his family life, his friend group. It feels so good to be a part of something. To be included. And at the same time, I'm free to do my own thing. Meet other people, follow my bliss. He actively encourages it.
I'm relaxed and happy. With this new mindset, even teaching feels easier. I'm more gentle with myself. I follow my impulses. I hope this state of being stays with me for a long time.
Ralf. I'm so grateful I met him. He helped me so much with his observation that I need someone to be gentle with me. His daddy energy. His wild playfulness. His Gemini communication mode. I loved that I was able to pay him back with some mum energy when I shipped his dirty laundry off to Jena. I included a heartfelt letter and the Exploding Kittens card game. I felt like a giddy teenager for a whole day when he implied that he's attracted to me too. I really hadn't noticed. We've been talking, flirting, messaging daily for a week now. So far none of us seems to be bored. I'm looking forward to our reunion!
Teresa. What a lovely human being. I connected with her right away. She's so intelligent, shares my passion for language. And she's so warm, empathic, benevolent, supportive. I ended up talking to her about my idea for a career coaching and she went all in right away. We even might work together. And maybe, just maybe, we're gonna record a podcast together. Even if just to amuse our Heroes messenger group.
I learned that I have a guest appearance in a fun song: Ich wollte doch nur knutschen auf der Party / Sie war gut gelaunt und ihr Name war Kathi / Das Netzwerk ging kaputt und ich musste das klären / Und Kathi hat geknutscht, aber leider mit Sören - Knutschen
More music: making a playlist for Teresa's ride home. And Ralf shared Wann strahlst du?. It's grown on me. The lyrics are everything. Highly relevant for my current state: Ich schulde dem Leben das Leuchten in meinen Augen
Acting in a much more loving way with old friends. Supporting them; touching, hugging, praising them.
Knowing the answers to two sports questions at the pub quiz.
Tuning in with my sonic toothbrush. I chanted and hummed, finally harmonized and changed my pitch. It sounded lovely and reminded my of our RAM chants during morning meditation.
Spending time in the "demon cave" with Lian. Playing airplane. Playing hard. We both loved to be wild - C. was not that amused because he wanted to concentrate on his chess app. But I also started being more gentle with the boy, cuddle him. I've got a feeling that he needs both modes.
"Freiheiten werden nicht geschenkt, man muss sie sich nehmen." - a random flyer on a lamppost, right when I walked past it, back to school, recording a voice message about... exactly that. The synchronicities are back! Life feels magical.
An insanely happy and productive day with the help of Yeli's Finest 50. I was so proud of myself because I even did things I'd been putting off for months. It finally felt right to contact Haus der Kunst and ZEIT Sprachen and ask them for an internship. Things are moving. It's happening. It's coming along. Doors are opening.
Meeting my new osteopath for the first time. I enjoyed his healing, intimate touch while we were talking about all my topics. And I love that we have so much in common. He used to be a civil servant to be able to afford his studies, is a voice actor now, has recently travelled to all my favourite places in Mexico. I'm looking forward to my next appointment.
I finally got a big box of passion fruit from the tree I adopted last year. What a fragrant delivery.
Meeting Becky, learning from each other. Enriching and entertaining as usual.
Finally getting my closet in order. Folding everything, donating a few items, clearing out another shelf to have more room for clothes. What took me so long? / Listening to WILLOW's music throughout the process. It's growing on me: I think I left my consciousness in the sixth dimension
Biting into a physalis thinking Life is delicious.
Saturday afternoon at Haus der Kunst with Sash. Walking through freaky environments, taking pictures of each other. Playing in a room full of feathers. Browsing the avantgarde bookstore. I got a postcard of a Hilma af Klint Altar piece.
Watching Lord of the Rings at C.'s place with his friend Jenny. Spicy morning routine, breakfast with his friends. A stopover at a LEGO church. Spending the whole afternoon soaking in warm water at Therme Bad Aibling. Eating the first ice-cream of the year in the sunshine. Cooking dinner together, talking in bed for a long time.
Ralf cancelled his weekend plans and invited me to Jena. We already have tickets for the planetarium. Really looking forward to seeing him! I've loved learning more and more about him in the past few days. We are so similar!
Something very simple but SO pleasurable: boiled potatoes with salt and butter.
Alex Ava taking two ballroom tickets off my hands when I had to change my plans.
Part 2
Masterlist
Y/N: Your Name
S/A/N: Stuffed Animal Name
The clock ticked as you stared at the wall. Your little legs swung back and forth as you waited for your social worker, Kelly, to come pick you up. The nice policeman had offered you some lemonade or cookies, but you had just shook your head, your hair bouncing on your shoulders.
"Hey there Y/N." You looked up at the familiar face of your social worker. She smiled, like she always did. In all your life you had never seen a person who was this happy. "Hey." You mumbled back, as you slid down the chair, to take the woman's outstretched hand. She smiled again. "Let's get you to a new place. I am sure this one is gonna be better than the last one. Maybe this is your forever home."
Kelly always talked about a forever home and a forever family, but you didn't believe in forever homes anymore. Everytime she promised this would be your home, she had to take you back a few months later. You picked up the garbage bag filled with your clothes and pulled the stuffed bunny, S/A/N, closer to your chest, before following her out of the police station and towards her car.
In the back of her car was the same old booster seat as always. You let Kelly help you climb into the car and buckle up, before she got in the front and started the car.
She looked back at you through the mirror. "It's a really short drive, so don't get too comfy." Kelly was right. We took a right and then shortly after a left, before she suddenly stopped the car in front of a building. "That's our stop."
She got out first before walking around the car and helped you get out of the car. You held onto the dark blue plastic from the garbage bag, as she rang the doorbell on one of the apartments.
"Hey who is that?" You heard a woman ask through the speaker. "This is Kelly, the social worker. I called you a few hours ago." The door hummed and Kelly pushed it open, revealing a grey hallway and a staircase into the second floor. Kelly started to go upstairs and you tried to follow her upstairs, but ended up tripping. Stairs were still a little difficult with your short legs . Kelly didn't seem to notice, but by the time you had reached the top of the stairs, she was already talking to a woman.
You pulled the bag closer and looked at S/A/N, who was safely tucked away under your arm. Carefully you stepped closer to the open apartment door. "Okay I'm gonna come in and check out your living situation once more. I know you are already approved, but I'm just gonna check it once more okay?" The woman nodded once again, letting Kelly inside before focusing her attention on you. "Hey there kiddo. My name is Natasha. Do you want to come in?" You shrugged as you looked up at her. She was really pretty. Her green eyes were sparkling and she was smiling showing off her pearly white teeth. Her hair was shoulder length and red like fire. "If you'd like we could have some cookies, while we wait for Ms. Kelly to finish."
You nodded a little and followed the redhead inside, where she showed you to the living room. "Go ahead and sit down kiddo, I'll get some cookies. Do you want some juice?" You nodded again and looked around the living room.
The couch looked pretty comfortable and there was an armchair in the same color as the couch, so they were probably bought together. There was a pretty big TV and a shelf with some DVDs.
The pictures in this room only showed Natasha and no man or children, so you were wondering where her husband was. All the families you had been in so far always had a mom and a dad, sometimes some children or foster kids like yourself.
"So how about we get to know each other?" She was back in the living room, with two glasses of juice and a plate full of cookies. You sat down on the couch as she had told me, setting down your bag next to the couch. S/A/N was still tucked away in your arms. "Who is this cutie?" The redhead asked, looking at the bunny. "That's S/A/N…" You took a deep breath, before continuing "She's my best friend." Natasha smiled at you. "That's so cool. My best friends' names are Maria or Clint. We all work together. I'm sure you'll meet them some time."
You watched as she took a cookie. "Go ahead and take one. I can't eat all of them alone." So you took one watching her to see her reaction, but she didn't do anything to stop you so you took a bite out of the cookie, before munching it all up. The redhead just smiled at you.
"Miss Romanoff, everything looks great. You just need to sign this and we are all set." The two grown ups sat down and Natasha signed some papers. Before Kelly stood up again. "Alright everything is set. Y/N I'm gonna leave now. You know what to do in case anything happens. Okay?" You nodded and waved her goodbye as she left. "So kiddo. Want to see your room?" The redhead asked, offering you her hand, which you reluctantly took. "Kay." She showed a pretty room. The walls were colored in a soft yellow and the bedding had orange polka dots. There was a small table, a closet and a shelf for your things.
On top of the bed was a backpack. "The backpack is for you. Why don't you go check it out?" You did and inside was a brush, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Both of them were themed after your favorite movie. Some shampoo and soap. On the bottom there were two coloring books. One about fishes and oceans, the other with lots of flowers. The last item was a fresh 24 pcs pack of crayons for you to color in your new books.
You turned to the woman and smiled at her. "Thank you." She just smiled back. "You're welcome kiddo."
Enough Nothings
Pairing: Damiano x fem!reader
Summary: You and Damiano bond over the idea of a quiet night in
Word count: 1.5k
Warnings: None, pure fluff
A/N: I saw an instagram post from the Late Late Show where James Corden talks about how he met his wife and my mind went haywire thinking that this would be such a Damiano thing to do. Written in an hour or so, not proof read. First fic in years, let me know what you think!
“Oh come on, having a little bit of fun won’t hurt you! Here, have a glass of wine, it might help you relax. And remember to enjoy this evening, you deserve it!”
Before you could protest, your boss had grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter’s tray and shoved it in your hand. You opened your mouth, but before any words were formed, she gave you an encouraging pat on the back and disappeared into the crowd to mingle.
You sighed as you watched her start to make the rounds, shaking hands left and right. She made it seem so effortless it almost made you jealous. Almost. Because as much as you appreciated her effort, appreciated that she had insisted you deserved a night out after all the hard work you put in for the charity organization, you still felt this was the last place you wanted to be right now. You would always prefer a quiet night in, cooking dinner and falling asleep in front of the television.
Another sigh and you finally took a sip of your wine. ‘Come on, you can do this,’ you told yourself as you remembered you did enjoy the taste of the drink in your hand, although you rarely took the opportunity to enjoy it. ‘You’re not even 30 yet, you should be out and about every night. This can be a fun Friday night. Don’t be a party pooper.’
You almost choked on your next sip of wine as you heard those exact five last words being repeated out loud behind you. Coughing, you turned around in surprise. You would recognize that voice and that Italian accent anywhere.
“Victoria!” you said as soon as you confirmed your suspicion.
Victoria De Angelis spun around on her heels when she heard her name being called. “Ah, there you are! We’ve been looking for you!” she cheerfully announced. As she pulled you into a hug, you realized she wasn’t alone. You also realized that her words hadn’t been directed at you, but at the man accompanying her. You recognized the singer of her band.
“This is Damiano, the singer of my band,” Victoria confirmed when she stepped back from hugging you. You nodded your hello as Victoria introduced you to Damiano in return. You only heard half of her explanation about how she met you when the band had stayed in London for a couple of months, and you worked for the organization that was hosting that night’s charity event. You were too distracted by the way the man in front of you was staring at you with the beginning of a smirk.
Damiano patiently waited for Victoria to finish and then accepted the hand you offered him, pulling it up to his lips without hesitation and pressing a small kiss to it. “Hi, pleasure to meet you. You might be the most beautiful woman in the world,” he greeted you, all the while never breaking eye contact.
“Well thank you very much.” You offered him a smile in return and slightly twisted your head to the side to give him calculating look before adding, “That sounds like something you say a lot.”
“I’ve never said it before in my life,” he shot back at you. There was a playful glint in his eyes as he spoke and that smirk never left his lips, but you also didn’t miss the sudden rosy tint on his cheeks.
He could easily be feeding you lies, but somehow you were inclined to believe him. You didn’t offer a verbal response, choosing to shoot him an bright smile instead. Judging by his reaction, it did nothing to hide the matching tint that you were sure was now also on your own cheeks. Was it just you, or had someone suddenly turned up the thermostat?
Not much later, Victoria had disappeared, most likely off getting into trouble. And you sat with Damiano in a dark corner of the bar. Getting tipsy on the sound of his laugh and how his touch gave you goosebumps. It was so easy to be around him. Within an hour and a half of meeting you were jokingly planning the rest of your lives together. Kids were a must, at least two of them, so they’d always have each other. Legolas and Bidet, he had already named his cats, and you insisted that the new kitten would be called Loki. The flower beds in your garden would contain many different flowers, so there would be something blossoming every season. Your bedroom needed a balcony, so he could serenade you from below. And you would need a big kitchen, with plenty of room for all the home cooked meals you were going to prepare.
You found comfort in how he loved the prospect of a quiet night in. Glorious, he called it, the thought of chamomile tea and going to bed before eleven. You had quickly agreed, told him that at your age, you had very much passed the notion of going out every night. He was a couple of years younger than you but took it as a compliment when you teasingly called him an old soul in a young body.
You didn’t realize how much time had passed until Victoria eventually showed up again. “Time to call it a night, lovebirds,” she teased you both with a grin. When you finally tore your eyes away from Damiano for the first time in a long while, you realized that there were only a couple of people left in the bar and the waiters had already started cleaning up.
As the three of you stood outside waiting for a cab, the cold night air did nothing to get rid of Victoria’s words. Lovebirds, she had called you. Away from the secluded, quiet corner of the bar, you were starting to feel anything but, and much more like a fool. The harsh streetlights burned your confidence away and you just stood there, silently waiting as Victoria chatted away besides you. Sneaking glances at Damiano, trying to memorize the sharpness of his jawline, the glimmer of the tiny golden ring piercing his nostril, the brown of his eyes, convinced that you weren’t going to see him again.
When your rides arrived, Victoria gave a quick side hug and a “We’ll talk later” before jumping into the first cab to get away from the cold night air as fast as possible, leaving you and Damiano alone on the sidewalk.
You took a deep breath to gather your courage and were about to pull in Damiano for a hug as well, when you realized he didn’t seem to have any intention to move. Instead, he stood next to you, staring at the pavement and fidgeting with the rings on his fingers.
“Damiano?” you wondered, carefully reaching out to touch his arm, trying to figure out why he looked like a nervous child suddenly.
Damiano looked up at you when you called out his name. His nervousness reflected in his eyes and he bit his lip when he just stared at you for a moment. Then, with a steadiness in his voice that surprised you, he said, “I was wondering… Well… what about tomorrow, we do nothing together. You could come over to my place and we could just do nothing. And then maybe we could stay in and do nothing on Sunday as well. And on Monday, we can go to work and afterwards we can do nothing if you’d like. And I’m thinking that if we do enough nothings, if our evenings are enough of nothing, then maybe this can become something.”
“What do you think?” he asked as he looked at you hopefully. And while he looked so very young under the streetlights, his old soul had just pulled you in. This was it. You were in. And by an absolute miracle, so was he. “That sounds like a fun idea,” you told him with a smile.
He beamed at your answer, before the both of you got distracted by Victoria shouting for him to hurry his ass up and get in the cab.
“Go!” You gave him a slight push towards the car. “She has my number, text me the details for your plan,” you told him with a wink.
Damiano was about halfway to the car and you were about to walk over to the other ride, when he turned and came running back only to stop in front of you. Before you could react, he had put a hand on your cheek, and used the other to pull you close. The next moment his lips were on yours in a gentle kiss.
The moment was over almost before you fully realized what was happening. “See you tomorrow, bella ragazza mia,” he whispered against your lips before running off towards his ride again.
You watched in stunned silence as their cab drove off. Left with the tingling feeling of where Damiano’s lips had just been and the exciting promise of nothing ahead.
Wilhemina Venable x Reader- When the time is right - Pt 1
Part 2, Part 3
word count: 3.8k
warnings: mention of scoliosis, angst + fluff at the end
A/N: This story is kind of an AU. Reader meets Venable when Wilhemina is light Mina (orange hair, adorable, cute, friendly) and they get together. One day Wilhemina breaks it off suddenly and they only reunite years later but Reader is met with a much darker version (dark Mina).
Also, this used to be on my Wattpad but I decided to completely rewrite it and add multiple parts
-Flashback-
''Are you serious right now after all we have been through?'' you try hard not to scream but it feels like your body is on fire, your lungs are burning, heart racing and your eyes watering. You cannot believe you are having this conversation with your girlfriend Wilhemina right now. After a whole year of knowing each other and eventually giving the relationship a go she is talking about moving on.
'It's for the best'' is all she said in return and then she walked out, cane in her hand hitting the floor hard and not once did she look back, she ignored your cries, you begging her to stay and please turn back around. You keep repeating this is a nightmare and you are gonna wake up any minute to her holding you in her arms. But it was no nightmare and she did walk out of your shared apartment and ever since that day you have tried to move on. But no matter what you did working, moving out of the apartment, meeting friends, getting to know new people it didn't work, Wilhemina was always on your mind, when you are asleep she would visit in your dreams, when you are driving or outside and a song plays, she is there in your memory as if she never left in the first place.
-End of Flashback-
Even right now as you are walking through the streets on your lunch break, coffee in your hand and earphones in your ears listening to music she is here again.
''I never needed you like I do right now....I never hated you like I do right now'' as you hear those lyrics your heart skips a beat and it feels like it is breaking all over again. You tried everything you could think of, start a new job in a new field, you moved to a new city but nothing seems to be able to take your mind off the redhead, clouding your mind, her touch still so present lingering on your skin, her voice still ringing through your ears and the smell of lavender following you wherever you go.
Currently, you are working for a company in California, in the social media department and to promote the brand and their work. It's mostly boring but you do enjoy social media and advertisement so you gladly took the job considering it comes with a higher paycheck and a brand new apartment. There was nothing left in your old city, no friends anymore because you drove them all away as they always talked badly about your ex-girlfriend and the feelings you still have for her. No family because you were kind of always on your own and after quitting your job there, there was nothing holding you back. The woman with red-orange hair and a purple obsession is currently on your mind again and no matter what you do she is stuck in your head, like a catchy record and it hurts. As you think about her a wave of flashbacks hit you, with no way of putting a stop to it and keeping the storm at bay.
''Wilhemina Venable, nice to meet you'' was the first few words that you ever heard her say and for a moment you were so struck that you couldn't even say anything. ''Cat got your tongue hmm?'' was what she said afterward and what got you to snap out of it, introduce yourself, and shake her hand. And when you touched her for the first time you knew you would never ever get tired of feeling her soft hands.
You would also never grow tired of looking into her beautiful brown eyes or the soft smile she would give you whenever she would see you. Back then you just finished college and you took your first job and she was your co-worker. Starting a relationship with a co-worker is sometimes frowned upon and there probably are good reasons for that but you didn't listen, not to your friends telling you not to do it and not to the other co-workers after they noticed the glances you and Wilhemina exchanged at work. But you both never let that stop you and you fell for her and you fell hard.
Although you had some crushes before, mostly on teachers in college or celebrities, you never had been in a relationship before. Every morning before work you would get up so early and make sure to put your best clothes on, you would improve your makeup skills and try different hairstyles to impress Wilhemina and you did. She would notice how often you would come around to her desk and ask her silly questions you both knew the answers to but you pretend you didn't. And eventually, she took all of her confidence and asked you out and that night was the most magical night of your life.
You went to an expensive restaurant and after she took you home and she gave you something that night that was precious and you held onto it till today. Patience. She was your first love and she made sure to not rush, to not hurt you, to be there for you and hold you whenever you needed her. After your first date, you went on some more magical nights together, before you were ready to allow her to love you and to love her in return and she made you feel things you never felt before. She would make your whole body feel beautiful and worthy, all your insecurities left whenever you were around the woman who had many insecurities herself due to her back. And that's probably what you admire most about her, the way she made you feel whenever you were with her.
Thinking about all this, you think back to the many dates you both went on, to restaurants, shopping, the movies, car dates, attending work parties together, going to get drunk together. Life felt so easy with Wilhemina around, although she was a few years older than you she was pure, she was funny, soft, kind, precious and she was innocent. She would always treat people with respect and offer help and you loved her beautiful and kind personality. You never thought that one night after being with each other for almost a year she would randomly walk out of your life and not once turn back around or try and talk about it.
Hearing the lyrics repeat, you sigh and shake your head because it is true, one part of you needed Wilhemina back in your life because no matter what you do you can not get her out of your head or heart for that matter. Part of you does hate her for leaving and walking out, you never cried harder in your life than the night she left and you couldn't function for days. All you did was cry, toss and turn in the bed or curl up on the floor in a little ball until you couldn't cry anymore but the pain never stopped. It took days and in the end, your friends who picked you up again, taught you how to take care of yourself again by eating, showering, getting dressed, and going to work and you hoped that moving and changing jobs would change something.
As you are sitting in a park, only a few blocks away from your new workplace, watching people having picnics, playing with their kids, walking their dogs, or doing exercise you realize that all this wasn't worth it. Moving away, leaving your job, apartment and friends did nothing, you still miss her and she still haunts you. You miss her gentle side, the soft Mina as you used to call her, who would hold you in her arms, who would say soothing words until you would fall asleep, and who would make you feel better after a hard day at work, hold you after a nightmare or would let you ramble about another one of the co-workers annoying you. You miss telling her about your days and how you feel because you could be free with her and be who you are and you haven't been that way in a very long time.
Checking your phone you notice your lunch break is over in five minutes so you toss your empty coffee cup in a nearby trash can and walk back to your office. Today has been particularly boring because all you have to do is answer people's dm's and requests on social media because currently there is no campaign going on. As you walk back to your desk you put your coat and bag away and start logging onto your laptop. That's when you hear your boss on his way to your desk and you can't help but internally roll your eyes. He isn't a bad guy or anything, he is in his fifties, grey hair, always wearing a suit and he treats you with respect and you appreciate him but whenever he would approach you it means a problem, like an advertisement going wrong or a complaint or a new major client and that means longer hours and staying in the office till midnight. Not that you mind considering there is nothing or no one to come back home to.
''Y/N'' he says as he finally reaches your desk. Looking up from your desk, you force a smile and reply ''Yes Mr. Odell what can I do for you?''. By his posture, you can tell he is in some kind of distress.
''Listen we have a potential new client and I want you to come to our first meeting with them'' he says excitedly and you question why he can't just bring his assistant. ''I can't bring Janet she is sick so I need you to get your things'' he explains and you log off your computer, take your coat and bag and follow him outside the building. It is quite chilly, so you are glad that you put a jacket over your blazer.
As the familiar buildings and streets fade into the distance, you try not to zone out like you usually would but these days your mind would often be preoccupied with daydreams or memories as if someone else was entirely in control of your thoughts.
''I have a meeting with a Mr. Pfister and Mr. Nutter'' he says absent-mindedly while looking into his calendar and talking about the company you are headed to. Snapping out of your thoughts, you nod and mumble ''Of course Mr. Odell'' before averting your gaze back to the window looking at the hectic city and people going on about their days. Your thoughts wander back to work and you try to think of a few possibilities to advertise their products, as that might not be as easy as you originally thought when agreeing on accompanying your boss.
The first thing you see as you walk into a large unfamiliar building, following your boss's steps, is a front desk with some employees sitting there, it seems that this building is home to a few companies and different departments as they guide people into different parts of the building. You watch as your boss approaches the front desk, ''Hello may I help you?'' a woman with blonde hair asks politely.
''Yes I have a meeting with Kineros Robotics'' he says and she looks at you, then him again, and points towards a sign. ''It's to your right just follow the signs'' she says and you notice how her facial expression changed from nice and friendly to cold and possibly scared? after your boss mentioned the company name. Reading people's expressions and understanding their underlying feelings, has always been something you are good at but you quickly shake the thought away and follow your boss.
As you walk down the corridor you see a young woman with long brown curled hair wearing a blouse with flower prints and a skirt run down the hall with a box in her hand, her heels echoing through the building. ''I'm sorry'' she mumbles hectic and nervous as she zooms past you and you give Mr. Odell a questioning expression before reaching the department.
''I'm so sorry there was a bad accident on the 101'' you hear the woman say and then you hear a sound that sounds both so familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. The cane tapping. For a moment you freeze, knowing this isn't just any cane tap as you are so used to a certain redhead woman expressing her emotions partly through the very device that helps her keep her balance. Despite not having heard the sound in over a year, you know exactly who must be on the other end of the hallway.
Temporarily you freeze, thinking maybe her leaving you and breaking things off with you, has ultimately clouded your senses and affected your brain and maybe you are imagining everything. After all the rational part of yourself, is trying to remind you that there is no explanation right now as to why she would be here of all places.
However, the next thing you hear is a clear confirmation that your brain is not tricking you, it's not your mind so clouded by her absence, she is here, the only thing keeping you from seeing each other is a wall and a few steps apart. As you hear a familiar voice your heart stops beating and your throat goes dry.
''Not as bad as the accident that brought you into the world'' that is all you heard and although her voice sounds more cold, harsh and raspy you are fully aware that Wilhemina is sitting at the end of that corridor. For a moment your body goes into a state of shock, your ears ringing, vision blurring, and your heart beating out of your chest.
Shortly after the girl what you assume now to be an assistant comes running back towards the corridor with tears in her eyes and her heels making the same clicking sound. She zooms past you and Mr. Odell again and all he says is ''Damn she seems feisty'' and you know it's aimed at Wilhemina and for a moment you debate whether to just turn around and pretend to be sick or needing to answer a phone call but you know you can't back out now, after all, you have missed seeing her for too long now.
All you wanna do is see her adorable orange hair, that you used to run your fingers through and untangle some knots after she had a long day, the dorky glasses that you sometimes made fun of, and beautiful pastel purple probably everywhere if this truly was her workplace after all. ''Come on'' your boss says, pulling you out of your thoughts yet again and you walk into the large room.
Eyes instantly wander to the source of purple in the room and the source of darkness in your heart and emptiness ever since she left but not only does your heart stop for a moment as you take a look at her, you blink a few times, now actually sure whether this is real or some kind of nightmare.
Wilhemina's hair is a much darker shape of red now and styled into a tall sharp quiff, no sign of her usual high ponytails anymore or the lighter and orange shape it used to be. You notice she doesn't wear glasses anymore and you are convinced her eyes look an even darker shape than before too. She is wearing a dress and it's also a very dark shade of purple with matching earrings. Even her makeup is darker, and as you see her sitting by her desk you can't deny how intimidating she seems, looking at some files, her cane resting on the desk right beside her. Even the cane is different now, it has a snake shape at the top and it's not the old plain one she used to have.
For a moment you believe you just walked right into your own personal nightmare, the funny, sometimes sassy, and beautiful girl you used to love now seems like a completely different and somewhat evil person. The Wilhemina you once loved and still have feelings for, as they never truly changed, seems gone and it seems like she was replaced by a new one, a colder version.
She would have never spoken to anyone like that or treated someone the way she just treated that girl that seems to be her assistant, by the looks of it. All the staring and observing Wilhemina happened in a matter of seconds although it feels like an eternity, everything is silent for a moment, all that is to be heard is your own heartbeat and the typing on Wilhemina's keyboard.
You watch as your boss approaches her and you follow him and finally, Wilhemina looks up noticing the presence of someone else in the room and her gaze is focused on him, so she hasn't seen you yet. He tries to shake her hand and says ''My name is Mr. Odell I have an appointment with Mr. Nutter and Mr. Pfister'' and she just looks at him and his hand with a slightly disgusted expression but she doesn't bother shaking his hand.
''Very well'' she says and takes a glance at you for a split second, noticing a second person in the room and her eyes wander back to her laptop thinking you are just some assistant but when she realizes who you are she immediately looks back over to you and she doesn't avert her gaze at first.
Wilhemina takes in your features for a moment, the sense of fashion, dressing smartly and formally but at the same time stunning as she always said, your hair, the improved makeup skills, and still the same details she always loved about you. She doesn't look into your eyes yet and you are interrupted when two men walk over.
One of them has brown hair and the other blonde hair and you try hard not to chuckle when you see them because they look hideous. ''Mr. Odell, nice to meet you'' they say and shake hands. ''This is Y/L/N maybe someone could show her around while we finalize the details?'' your boss suggests, taking you by surprise, and one of the two turns to Wilhemina and says ''Miss Venable would you give this beautiful lady a tour please''.
For a split second, you are convinced, she is about to kill him but you aren't sure if it's about the tour or compliment. ''Of course'' she mumbles and your boss and the two men leave and you are left there with your ex-girlfriend and awkward silence filling the room. You haven't looked up or into her eyes yet and it terrifies you, she terrifies you.
Wilhemina has no idea what to do or how to react after not seeing you for two years and the last time she did she walked out of your life and your relationship. The redhead looks at you and without looking into your eyes yet she knows the pain, she can see it and she can tell this is killing you inside, the last thing she ever wanted was to cause you pain.
You take a deep breath with your eyes closed and turn to Wilhemina and your eyes instantly lock and you look into her dark brown eyes and not leave her gaze for one moment. She takes a few slow steps towards you, her cane hitting the floor, and with every tap and echo in the room, it feels like your heart is ripped into more pieces and your past is here confronting you right at this moment.
''Mina'' is everything you can say but it comes out as a whisper while your voice cracks. Your ex-girlfriend's eyes close right away because she has missed hearing you call her that for the past two years but as she opens her eyes she reminds herself internally, who she is and that she is currently at her workplace.
''Follow me'' she instructs and you follow her while she walks down a corridor and into a room with big machines. While you follow her you can't understand what would have happened to her to turn into this cold-hearted person. She used to be the sweetest and kindest person you knew but clearly, something has changed. You cannot take your eyes off her and as she walks you into the room with machines, she explains about the work they do here and how they do it and as much as you try to focus and look at the things she shows you, you can't and Wilhemina notices.
''Do I bore you?'' she suddenly snaps in that cold voice again, her nostrils flaring and your heart feels like a knife was just thrown right into it. ''I'm sorr- sorry I-'' but you can't even think of a good enough excuse so you just look at the floor and try hard to keep your emotions at bay.
''Anyways, these are the machines and devices we use, whenever someone places a custom order we make sure to fulfill that order as efficient and quick as possible'' Wilhemina explains her voice still stern, sounding like she has given this tour so many times, she has memorized every single word.
However, you do notice her looking at you the entire time she explains and it seems like she wants you to say something but there are too many things that you want and wanted to say to her for years but you never imagined one day you would run into her like this. For several minutes the two of you stand in the rooms with machines, Wilhemina explaining and you trying hard to focus on her words intently.
''Y/N'' you hear the voice of your boss coming from the door, the two strange-looking men behind him, and you look at him, noticing the satisfied looks on their faces, indicating the deal worked well, and he says ''I'm finished, thank you, Miss, for giving her the tour'' he adds now focused on Wilhemina. ''Let's go'' he says and you walk in his direction without looking back at her and just as you are about to walk out of the door you look at her and say ''Thank you'' and then you walk out.
As you walk out of the large office building, back through the same long corridor, and past the front desk, you can't hear anything your boss is trying to say and the entire car ride back to the office you try and wrap your head around what just happened, abandoning every single word Mr. Odell is saying.
''This didn't happen wake up Y/N wake-up Y/N'' you keep repeating in your head but it's no use this is no nightmare this is reality.
October 2023
A lazy Sunday in bed with Sex Education and cake until Sandra summoned me with a bossy voice note and I joined the others at Oktoberfest. At one point there were several unicorns flying through the sky (in balloon form). Then I went on a little adventure with Sandra, Robert and David. Selfies at the mirror cabinet, crashing into each other with bumping cars, throwing balls into mouths, gifting red roses to each other, attending the flea circus. Man, I love this gang. I told David that he's naturally gorgeous when he inquired about the fate of his full beard and in hindsight I realised... he actually IS really cute. Also way out of my league? Sigh.
Cycling to school for the first time. Any excuse to escape public transport. But I was surprised by how quick the journey felt! I'm planning on taking my bike more often as long as the weather permits.
My first proper Kundalini yoga class! I kept up beautifully and it wasn't even too weird. Afterwards I appeased the teachers anxious, barking dog by giving her a few good scratchies. Oh, and I met a silky smooth and shiny black cat on the way there!
A return request for a lamp I'd bought turned into... a free lamp. They just let me keep it.
Not sure if it's a good thing but at least it was amusing: waking up in such a crazy mood that I constantly made weird noises and commented on what I was doing in strange accents. That's why I'm never bored.
Garlic-filled green olives.
Swimming in the river. In October! I enjoyed the public holiday at Isar with Ben, Taffy and Lu.
A nightly walk through the neighborhood. Picking up a very affectionate cat who purred all the time. Following a toad. Hanging out in the playground.
Finding out about an Alan Rickman movie I really wanna see: Truly, Madly, Deeply.
I picked up a few vegetables from my neighbours' garage and there was a chonky red and white tomcat. We started "talking" and I was CHOSEN. He wrapped himself around my neck and started purring, basically making out with me. Lots of boops!
I had so much energy in Lucie's Yoga class. I sang all the mantras, kept moving, meditating, even performed a headstand! And I learned a trick with the Yoga belt: making a loop and putting it over me leg and head helps me stretch and twist my upper spine!
A weird half-lucid dream about my dying parents in a mansion. Almost like an epic family saga, one of these long novels with too many characters.
Learning from Sophie Passmann's book Pick Me Girls that I was never special. At all. It's funny - and sad - how many things we have in common.
A long video call with Fox. Unboxing the parcel I'd sent him, sharing book recommendations and going through our many lists together.
My date with Christian. Taking the BDSM test on the big leather sofa at Flex together (100% brat?). He noticed we were actually in the kissing corner and made like nobody was watching. We talked about Integral Psychology (I couldn't get Treya Wilber's quote about love at first touch out of my head), my shadow/mum's death and his depression. We went home together. How is this so intense. High on connection.
Madonna's Don't Tell Me playing while walking to the subway one evening, looking up to the stars, feeling gratitude of this fantastic new plane of existence I'm on. I never knew bliss like this. Tell me love isn't true / It's just something that we do / Tell me everything I'm not / But don't ever tell me to stop
The crisp chop chop sound the knife triggered when it dismembered a chunky carrot.
Scalp-brushing.
Hopping around on Hanna's trampoline machine in the physio practice.
Meeting Michael for the first time! I promptly took him to a burner get-together at Tatjana's place and we got along famously. I also enjoyed creating naughty poetry with Ben and hugging Robert for a few moments longer than necessary. I had a great conversation with the British guy whose name I never learned and loved Sandra's soft fur coat - couldn't stop touching it.
Another nightly playground visit.
An unexpected nude selfie with greetings from the Mediterranean from Galya and Nagu.
Milk foam. / Arriving in the kitchen just in time to prevent the milk from boiling over.
Sunday afternoon at Alte Pinakothek with Katharina. I love that woman and I desperately want her to become one of my best friends. We interpreted the art, paid attention to details, textures, colours. Looked at Tilda Swinton's favourite painting (her partner is a childhood friend of K's ex). Then we got some juice and eggplant bread sitting outside a cafe in Schwabing, playing with tiny spiders and chestnuts. Talking about health, sex and love, fashion, all the important things in life.
A brainstorming session with Fox. Getting the zoomies. Interpreting my OSHO stalker card.
Sandra sending me cute photos of me and David.
A deliciously ripe mango from the Canary Islands. A clementine giving me Christmas vibes. Cosy and nostalgic mint tea.
London Philharmonic Orchestra - Adagio for Strings Op.11a / immediate calming effect, it makes me feel like I'm walking through a dramatic movie.
Cycling to the cafeteria. Someone had a beautiful grey Sheba cat on their lap on the driver's seat of their car, letting it look out the window. Someone else was blasting Toto's Africa and I sang along. I managed to produce a loud whistling noise with my fingers!
Salted Pistachio nut butter cups.
Gifting myself to a beautiful yellow and purple bouquet of flowers (my favourite colour combination).
My new acid yellow blazer.
Staying super calm and positive during a painful medical procedure.
Taking the liberty to leave work instead of suffering through the whole day when I noticed I had tonsillitis again.
Coming up with a sexy mission for Lena and Max.
555 is associated with change, personal progression, and transformation. "It is a sign from the divine that you are undergoing positive changes in your life."
Cycling to Westpark to meet Vroni. The smell of mulch in the air (reminds me of home).
Feeling energetic, strong, powerful (still can't do a headstand without walking up a wall though).
Manu showed up at choir practice again! And Kathrin wants me to prepare a song to check out my voice for a possible solo.
Dusting the whole apartment. Filing paperwork. I love it when I happen to be in the mood for annoying tasks like that.
An inspired dinner & theatre date with Becky (visiting Raphael's opening of Animal Farm).
The very spontaneous decision to turn around and go home with Christian in the middle of the night. Touching him felt electric again and his apartment was incredibly gorgeous. I loved waking up surrounded by nature, meeting the chickens and a shy cat. Meditating in the sun. A debate about AI over breakfast. Playing with his son's toys, receiving one of his tiny toothbrushes (pink with stars and a suction cup). Chestnuts. Reading a picture book to him after giving him a massage.
Lush fields of sunflowers in the sunshine. Fall foliage. Butterflies and a vegetable garden outside C.'s house. More chickens outside the wholefood store on my street.
The first persimmons of the season. Biting into a jam-filled gingerbread heart.
A newfound obsession with Jupiter. Its symbol consists of 2+4, my two favourite numbers. Gustav Holst's The Planets suite.
Morning meditation (autumn vibes, windy with lots of crisp leaves flying through the air - cosy). Starting Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light over breakfast (I'm already hooked). Invitations, coincidences, good conversation. Finalising the stamps (following advice about "Doing the thing" I'd received in a newsletter the day before).
A new musical era? I've started listening to more classical music, being naturally drawn to it. I find it to be very uplifting, making life a little more cinematic .
I got dressed up for Avantgardista and felt comfortable and hot in a see-through top with black jeans, cowboy boots and my new Desigual leather jacket. I looked objectively cute! My hair cooperated and I came up with an asymmetrical flitter make-up idea: Multichrome flakes under the right eye, little gemstones under my left eyebrow to accentuate the highest point (stole the idea from Eric in Sex Education).
Spending Saturday evening surrounded by so many burners, old friends and new ones. Finalising my friendship with Robert at Chili's kitchen table. Starting to flirt with each other ("Just to clarify: I do wanna make out with you but I'm afraid of Sandra" - "Yeah, me too!" / he kept following me around a little bit and stayed close. I love how loyal and playful he is).
Tiny kisses from Sandra. Really great fashion and accessories, so many ideas for my own art projects and future Burn outfits. Christian showing up behind me (with Elena - I was a little jealous). Waving to Heike and Stefan from across the catwalk. Chili repeatedly offering to hold my chewing gum for me. Bringing out my dominant streak (the outfit must have done it). Sharing pinsa and a taxi.
Sending a selfie of Katharina and me to her ex (who we both know): "Hey, I stole your ex!" (He was totally fine with it) Damn, we looked extra cute. I loved our connection. What a unique and genuine person!
Playing Spin-the-bottle. Daring tasks. Connecting with Uli. Falling asleep on the big sofa, waking up surrounded by four lovely human beings in a cuddle puddle. Handing out double massages. Breakfast delivery with extra buttery croissants. My head in Christian's lap. Eye contact and kisses from above.
Luna is such a gorgeous, gentle and ethereal human being. She has this soothing voice, is so supportive and drove us all home on Sunday. And do I even need to mention her fantastic new green latex dress? I loved learning about her job in Game Design, bonding over our nerdiness.
Making plans for a mystery dinner together - Indian food, costumes and a murder case.
Christian coming over for dinner. Sitting in my kitchen in a bathrobe. Black candles lit. I love how comfortable he feels in my apartment. Watching scenes from controversial movies in bed, realising we both have quite unusual and eclectic taste. Being reminded of old fantasies and habits. Seeing his face light up when he saw a little video clip his son had sent him, telling him he missed him. His excitement when I told him about Björk's Cornucopia Tour. We made rough plans to go there together. Daring to tell him that I'm kinda into him.
Still, again, always, a little morning request to hear Run Away to Mars by Talk. 3, 2, 1 I miss you.
Now I've even started to find tiny glitter stars on my apartment floor. This one probably came from Christian's facial glitter? It's magic.
Remnants of summer: Yellow dahlias and a bush still full of ripe raspberries in the neighbours' garden. An older couple making out on the subway like teenagers - holding each other's faces, eyegazing.
An insight I had about gender-aware language (that it might actually emphasize inequalities and differences) in a discussion with Raphael.
An easy-breezy lyrics round at Pub Quiz. Slapping Dennis (with his consent). Being reminded of I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith.
I've been listening to so much more music lately: Björk - Venus as a Boy / Billie Bird - La Nuit / Villagers - Courage / Danit - Cuatro Vientos
Beautiful spheric wall art on my daily bike route. A woodpecker crossing my path in flight. The effect I seem to have on women these days. Peculiar.
Forest & Shore Thrive Hair Oil.
Subtle flirting with my colleagues.
A substitute lesson with the 9th-graders. We practiced some Speeddating! I had so much fun with the older kids. I'm a little sad about only teaching years 5+6 at the moment.
My first Joy of Connection event - ecstatic dance turns cuddle puddle. I loved Stefan's music and touches and was surprised and happy that Katharina and David showed up. Lovely vibes, massages, first attempts at contact improv. An Indian girl developed a crush on me.
A cute date with Atabak. He brought me dark sea salt chocolate! I love talking about language, culture and art with him. He's super gentle but intense and calls me cute one.
Meeting Benni and Steffy for dinner at Giorgia. What a great evening. Benni got me to different spheres again and I loved the stories they shared. We took selfies in the mirrored toilet together and made plans to meet again soon!
A very chill and calming breathwork session at Yoga Garden.
Following an impulse to drive to Augsburg for the Kinky Amore Party. Meeting lovely burners. Grounding C. through a trip. Letting him cut my duct tape outfit off me. Walking through the empty streets together in the early morning. Driving back to Munich during sunrise. Holding hands on the gear stick. Kinky bathroom session. Closing the blinds, spending the rest of Saturday in darkness. Talking for hours. Massages. Getting up close to midnight to eat potatoes and cauliflower. Falling asleep again. Cataloguing all my old maps and charts in the morning. My pillow smelled of him.
A long walk through the forest on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I immediately felt calmer upon entering the woods. The smell was enticing. I found hazelnuts, took a lot of gorgeous photos. Then I put on the inline skates I had with me in my backpack and skated back to my bike. I was honestly surprised that it went quite well!
Meeting Max and Lena. Interesting conversation and playtime. She was super cute, I loved touching her.
Biting into a crisp, buttery croissant.
My connection with Fox. Mutual understanding, inspiration, playfulness.
Walking to school in the morning. I Do the Rock on my headphones. A sudden whiff of sugar and cinnamon, reminding me of my grandma and, weirdly, the bakery at Niederbayernschau.
The life is juicy feeling. Delicious moments and experiences. Feeling like I've leveled up, vibrating on a higher frequency. Manifesting what's to come. Love, safety, adventure, creativity, stepping into my power.
Someone in my yoga class told me how fascinating and beautiful she found my hip rotation. She said she wanted to stop her own Asana and marvel at my flexibility.
The moment I realized I wasn't wearing any make-up (and didn't have to wash my face).
Finally finishing the Playspace Bingo.
Fancy shopping at Muji. I got crisps with old French cheese and a huge sandalwood candle.
Meeting David at work. I love him so much.
Visiting Robert's new apartment. Snacks on the balcony. Seeing Sandra together. Kebabs on a park bench. Train and bus and car ride. He's super touchy and cuddly!
The madness that was Hamburn. Chaotic, stressful, vibrant, pulsating. Wow. Here are a few film stills that live in my head rent free: the long drives with my dudes (Frank, Robert and Uli but on the way back Celia came with us) - Robert and I were such a good team; driving, cuddling, massaging and supporting each other, great conversation and DJ-ing / a moment with Uli on the bar floor, almost kissing after dinner, and an honest conversation about his cancer journey; giving him an exciting challenge for his free bingo space, witnessing how much he was into it; and sharing his apple lollipop / talking to Idan (who still intimidates and confuses me) and Alma (I'm not sure how that immediate level of conversational depth came to be but I went along with it) / dancing with Robert to Oops I Did it Again and seeing him match my energy on the actual dancefloor; going absolutely bananas (Fusili!) / roleplaying our way through the admission procedure: drawing numbers, going along with the tasks and challenges, reading a fantastic story about wolverines, filling out a crazy form and putting Robert on a leash - conveniently, I had a washing line in my bag / lying on the lower bunk bed in the Play-Playroom with Robert, Koali and Ole; reading picture books to each other; toys and candy, vibrating walls / witnessing a very strange scene when the hypnosis duo came in with one of their many victims and Undine said that none of that had ever happened... / walking through the forest, alone, in the middle of the night / taking turns drawing a scene with Robert in the Expresso Tipi, getting buffed / a great conversation about self development with Celia and Josef (who are both coaches) in the welfare room; the two woman doctors who came in just to hang out with me, eat snacks and listen to Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield / exchanging long, sensual massages on an actual massage bench with R. / taking a Lindy Hop class, being lead, slowly getting the hang of it (muscle memory), fighting over Robert and then with him, landing on his face (contact improv) / early morning sauna and quick swims in the ice cold lake / receiving hard slap shots from Jo in drag / recording "podcast" episodes about how much we missed Sandra - receiving her hilarious replies / getting dressed up for the 80s party, taking cute photos / going all kitty on Nas, propositioning him to play because he doesn't speak my native language (bingo task) / seeing Marta dance with a crystal ball player - their interaction was magnetic, she kept following the ball with her gaze and movements / walking out of a door, a flock of people at the bottom of the stairs; playing queen, waving to my people - everybody immediately played along //
[CN] Winning the Championship Date
🍒 Warning: This post contains detailed spoilers for a date, 夺冠之约, which has not been released in EN! 🍒
[ Released on 28 September 2021 ]
The vibrations of my phone rouse me from the tediously long document. After looking at the caller, I answer it hurriedly.
MC: Gavin? Has your mission ended?
Gavin (on the phone): Soon. I’ll be back before the weekend. I should be able to make it in time for that café event you mentioned.
I suddenly recall how I had mentioned this event to Gavin before he left for the mission last month, but...
MC: Sob sob. I can’t go this weekend. I’m producing a new show, so I’ve been busier lately.
Gavin (on the phone): Is it a difficult show?
MC: A little bit... Come to think of it, Gavin, what type of sports shows appeal to you?
Gavin (on the phone): ...appeal to me? Competitive sports with commentators.
Just as I’m hesitating on whether to tell him about the problems I’m facing, someone on the other end of the line seems to be calling for him.
MC: Go and do your thing. I’m not facing any issues.
Gavin (on the phone): Okay. Contact me anytime if needed.
Right after hanging up, Minor knocks on the door and comes in.
Minor: Boss, I’ve made the arrangements for the collaborative filming of “Life’s Limits” with the City Sports and Culture Bureau. As per your request, I’ve selected a group of amateur racing hobbyists. The name list and materials have been sent to your e-mail.
MC: You’ve worked hard.
Minor: Boss, why don’t you take a break? Your dark circles have appeared.
MC: The company competing with us for this project is Light Media, and it’s much more experienced in producing sports shows as compared to us. We can’t let our guard down.
After more than half a month of research, I locked in my decision regarding the filming site - Hurricane Club.
This club is very well-known amongst motorcycle enthusiasts, and often organises competitions for amateurs.
This weekend, the club will be conducting a three-day training, and participants will be guided by professional coaches. There will even be a friendly race at the end.
The competition has a very novel format - it’s a three-person relay.
I intend to search for three photogenic motorists to form a small team. By following their daily experiences throughout the entire process, including their training sessions and the race, I’d produce a story about the team.
Minor: Boss, according to your request, isn’t the best choice Bro Gavin?
MC: That’s true...
During the initial planning stage, the first person I thought of was actually Gavin.
However, he doesn’t like appearing on shows, and was only willing to appear in previous shows because of me.
Moreover, he’s been away for a mission which lasted close to a month, and should get a proper rest over the weekend.
MC: In short, he... doesn’t quite fit the standard. You can leave work for now.
After sending Minor away, I re-focus on the thick stack of materials in front of me.
-
Before the peak hour on Friday, I head towards Hurricane Club in a rental car. While doing pre-filming checks, I answer the phone.
Minor: Boss, the three people we agreed on have set out. I’ve also found a suitable substitute. After careful selection, he’s definitely a top quality choice. I can guarantee that nothing will go wrong! You’ll get to see him once you reach the club! Boss, thanks for your hard work!
Before I have a chance to probe further, the dial tone sounds in the next second.
MC: This fellow is once again acting first before reporting afterwards... there shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Upon reaching the club, I meet up with the three team members we had contacted earlier.
Based on background research conducted by the company, they are generally outstanding, and are very enthusiastic when it comes to racing.
One of them is a young participant called Kelly, who obtained an amateur championship title in the past.
I quickly introduce the details of the shoot to them.
MC: Bro Liu, Xiao Yu, Kelly, thank you all for participating in this shoot. Afterwards, the club will be allocating you to your coaches for guidance. Even though this team was put together at short notice, I hope everyone can have faith in each other, and motivate each other. We also prepared a substitute team member...
??: Sorry I’m late.
A familiar voice drifts from behind me, and I immediately turn around.
Sunlight falls on every step Gavin takes towards me. The pair of eyes looking at me are bright and clear.
Gavin: I’m the substitute team member, Gavin. I’ve kept you waiting, Producer.
-
After the club assigns the coaches and enters the test run phase, I finally digest the “unexpected surprise” of Gavin’s sudden appearance.
I initially think of finding a chance to talk to him privately, but the coaches who arrive one after another leave me with no choice but to retract the gaze which keeps straying towards that figure.
I shake my head, forcing myself to focus on my current task. By the time all the filming angles are checked, most of the morning has already gone by.
Scanning my surroundings, I don’t see Gavin anywhere.
MC: ...where is he?
-
Walking along the racetrack and towards the vending machine, I decide to get a bottle of coffee to fill myself up before looking for Gavin.
Perhaps because I didn’t have breakfast, I suddenly feel dizzy after taking a few sips.
By the time I regain my senses, I’m carried over to a long bench by a familiar force. Meeting Gavin’s evidently frantic gaze, I quickly tug the corners of my lips upwards into a smile.
MC: Gavin, I was just about to look for you. Turns out you were here.
He doesn’t speak. Lifting his hand, he wipes away the thin sheen of sweat on my forehead lightly. Then, a breeze envelops me gently, warm and comforting.
He takes the coffee in my hand smoothly, then retrieves soya milk and a sandwich from the bag in his hand.
Gavin: Eat your breakfast.
MC: ...okay, I’ll listen to Sir Gavin.
I munch on the sandwich obediently, occasionally blinking at Gavin to convey a message which says, “I feel much better, so there’s no need to worry”.
Gavin’s slightly furrowed brows finally arch subconsciously.
Gavin: I heard from Minor that you’ve been working overnight to prepare for this show.
MC: Haha, don’t listen to his nonsense. It isn’t that exaggerated...
Gavin: I also heard that I didn’t fit the standard. What standard did you set?
MC: ...
I clench my fists in secret, condemning Minor from the bottom of my heart for his “heinous act” of betraying me.
MC: I can explain! You don’t like appearing on camera, and your identity in STF is a pretty sensitive topic...
Gavin: Mm, you’re right.
Gavin deliberately elongates his words, as though he doesn’t plan to let the matter go just like this.
Gavin: So what’s your standard?
MC: ...we hope for the motorists to have a certain level of professional competence, to be sufficiently photogenic, and most importantly, to have an enthusiastic heart. But I really didn’t mean to say that you didn’t fit this standard!
Gavin is finally unable to suppress the upward turn of his lips.
Gavin: Once you’re done today, sleep early tonight.
-
The training proceeds methodically, and filming goes very smoothly.
The roar of motors drift from the club’s racetrack, and motorcycles of every hue speed freely along the racetrack.
In the camera lens, two blue and white motorcycles seem to be speeding at the same pace, as though they’d break through the finish line at the same time.
Kelly: Have you ever participated in professional racing?
Gavin: Nope.
Kelly: The way you cornered the motorcycle a few times - you can’t do that with ease without a few years of experience. How did you do it?
Gavin: I just drive often.
Kelly: Let’s find a chance to ride together some time.
Kelly pats him on the shoulder before continuing the training. Gavin walks over to me, twisting open a bottle of water before taking a sip.
Gavin: Is filming going well?
MC: There’s too much footage from the training sessions. I might consider adding a special segment for interviews.
While speaking, I’m struck with an idea.
MC: Mr Gavin, why don’t you have a pre-interview with me to test out the effects?
I lift a bottle of water towards Gavin.
MC: What made you like motorcycles?
Gavin: I don’t have a precise answer. By the time I realised it, I already liked them.
MC: In that case, are there any motorcycle-related experiences which left a deep impression on you?
Gavin is silent for a moment. He seems to think of something, then chuckles softly.
Gavin: The time it overturned.
MC: Overturned? When did that happen? You can tell me in secret - this will definitely not be disclosed to the public.
Gavin looks at me, and he speaks in a volume only the both of us can hear -
Gavin: [whispers] The time when I rode on a snowmobile with the girl I like.
The snow field in my memories is cold, but the breath at my ear causes the temperature of my ear to rise.
[Note] This is a reference to Snow Mountain Date
MC: [blushing] Cough, that was...
All of a sudden, a clamour from the racetrack interrupts my words. The both of us stand up, only to discover that a motorcycle has overturned on the track.
Many people are standing at the side, and some call out for the medical staff.
Gavin: That seems to be Old Liu. Let’s go over to have a look.
-
Doctor: There are soft tissue injuries to your wrist and leg. Recuperate properly over this duration, and don’t engage in any intense activities.
Bro Liu: What about the competition tomorrow...
MC: Bro Liu, just recuperate. The doctor said that once your injuries are healed, you can still ride motorcycles in the future.
Bro Liu glances at Gavin.
Bro Liu: I guess I must admit that I’m getting old. It’s time to hand the baton to the young.
After contacting Minor and telling him about what happened, Gavin and I leave the hospital.
MC: Bro Liu worked so hard over the past two days. He must have really wanted to participate in tomorrow’s competition...
Gavin: In that case, we’ll work hard together with his effort. This is when the substitute steps in.
-
It’s the night before the competition, and I’m looking through the contents of the edited shoot over the past two days in my room.
After cutting the cornering training, I modify it into a slow-motion feature, then insert a few casual interactions between the team members as embellishments.
But no matter how I edit it, the clip is unable to convey the feelings I hoped it would.
I grab my hair in frustration, unwilling to accept my defeat. I locate the original video, watching it from the start.
The sound of the doorbell interrupts my slightly muddy train of thoughts. Opening the door, I see Gavin standing outside.
Gavin: I saw that the lights were still on in your room, so I came over to take a look. Why aren’t you sleeping?
MC: Gavin...
Hearing the gloominess in my tone, he takes my hand and pulls me over to sit down on the sofa.
Gavin: Filming didn’t go well?
Placing the notebook laptop between us, I play the recording.
MC: For this shoot, I wanted to edit it into a small unscripted story to showcase the competitiveness and fun of being a racer. As of now, the story aspect is going smoothly, and the interactions between people are interesting too. But I think it’s missing something which can grab one’s attention immediately...
Gavin looks at the screen and ponders for a moment. Then, he suddenly asks me a question.
Gavin: Want to go for a stroll? It’s too stuffy in the room. Getting some fresh air might give you new inspiration.
-
Likely to conserve energy for the competition tomorrow, everyone has returned to rest very early, and the racetrack is completely empty.
Gavin leaps onto the bleachers, then reaches out to me.
Gavin: Let’s go for a spin.
He takes my hand, guiding me onto the vehicle. Then, he puts on a helmet for me, teaching me how to grab the throttle and brakes.
MC: Gavin, are you sure this is okay?
Gavin: You can’t go onto the road, but we’re still within the venue. After filming for days, don’t you want to experience it yourself?
MC: I want to!
Gavin sits behind me, two arms securing me steadily in his arms.
Along with the familiar sound of the engine, the motorcycle moves. The speed is incredibly steady, and is just right for enjoying the pleasant evening breeze.
MC: Gavin, can we go a little faster?
Gavin: We can. Sit tight.
A loud roar drifts to my ears, and the motorcycle flies forward like an arrow leaving a bow.
Very soon, the most difficult part of the racetrack appears, comprising of consecutive bends. During the training sessions, many motorists faced many trials at this area.
Gavin grips my hand, loosening the throttle, causing the the motorcycle to slow down.
MC: There’s no need to step on the brakes?
Gavin: No need. Engine braking is enough to reduce the speed.
While speaking, the motorcycle tilts at an unbelievable angle at a turn. Gavin controls the direction with composure, air currents at the side keeping the motorcycle steady.
The motorcycle dangerously yet steadily completes the curved track, returning onto a straight track and picking up speed once again.
Gavin: MC, can you see where the cameras are? That’s the goal. On the racetrack, that’s the only thing in a racer’s eyes.
The sound of wind at my ears seems to quieten down. The moment we charge past the finishing line, I suddenly have a feeling that a full stop has been drawn on the racetrack.
Even after the motorcycle makes its gradual halt, I’m unable to return to my senses.
Seeming to understand my silence, Gavin doesn’t speak. He simply pushes the motorcycle that I'm on patiently, walking slowly.
MC: Gavin, I know what this story is missing. Stirring the emotions of viewers requires the most important thing which can make them seethe with excitement -
Gavin: Winning the championship.
MC: That’s right. All the effort from before is meant for the final sprint towards the goal. Winning the championship is the core of a competitive spirit, and is also what the show’s theme of “limit” is seeking after. But... Gavin, do you think we have a chance at winning the championship tomorrow?
Gavin: Yes. But while we’re improving, others are improving as well. Everyone on the racetrack will be aiming towards victory. The people you selected are very outstanding. Believe in them, and believe in yourself.
MC: Mm, everyone has already worked very hard. When it comes to winning, it’s good enough if they try their best.
Gavin parks the motorcycle properly, then carries me down from it.
Gavin: Go back and have a good sleep. You don’t have to worry too much about the competition tomorrow.
-
It’s finally time for the competition. Seeing the filled audience seats, I feel incredibly nervous.
Kelly: I didn't expect to see so many people.
MC: It’s a Sunday, and the club decided to open the venue to the public as publicity.
I take a deep breath to calm my emotions.
MC: Let’s enjoy the fun of racing to our heart’s content! Shall we do a pre-competition ceremony?
While speaking, I stretch out my hand. Gavin cooperates, placing his palm over the back of my hand. He gives it a gentle pinch, and it feels as though an endless stream of strength is being transmitted.
It’s a sense of security belonging only to Gavin.
MC: Safety first, the competition second. Everyone, all the best!
All the motorists have taken their places at the starting line. Based on prior suggestions by the club, I’ve arranged Kelly to take on the first battle, and Gavin will be the finale.
With the green light signalling the start of the competition, twenty motorcycles which have been waiting for action seem to sprint forward at the same time.
The sound of motor engines causes everyone’s adrenaline to spike, and the crowd becomes immersed in the competition.
I’m positioned closest to the audience seats. This is the first time I’m viewing a competition from such a close distance. Even though it’s an amateur competition, it’s sufficiently astounding.
Xiao Yu makes a few minor mistakes at the bends, causing the team to lag behind temporarily.
Carefully observing the changes on the racetrack, I don’t feel overly anxious.
Because it’d be Gavin’s turn next. With him around, I always feel exceptionally at ease.
I look at Gavin as he waits at the handover area with a helmet over his head. He seems to sense my gaze, and turns around to see my thumbs up.
In the next second, his motorcycle charges into the racetrack.
The blue and white motorcycle courses past the bends nimbly in almost “L” shape movements.
As compared to my experience last night, I can see Gavin’s cornering techniques even more clearly from the audience seats.
Although the camera is unable to capture his expression, it isn’t difficult to imagine his focused and bright eyes from underneath the helmet.
When the competition enters its final round, Gavin has already reached the second place, and there’s hardly any difference between him and the first competitor.
The audience’s emotions are stirred by this intense competition, and the sound of cheers surge forward like a tide.
I find myself being influenced as well, staring fixedly at that sprinting figure.
After the upcoming bend, the goal will not be far.
Unexpectedly, a motorcycle behind suddenly accelerates towards the bend, using its full strength to make a last effort.
However, the motorcycle tilts too much. It’s clear that the centre of gravity was not controlled properly, sending the motorist collapsing onto the track.
At this point, Gavin’s motorcycle is already over half of the bend. He controls the dip of the motorcycle, barely avoiding the fallen vehicle.
Because of this incident, some distance is pulled between himself and the motorist in first place.
On the straight road, Gavin’s motorcycle suddenly accelerates, keeping pace with the motorist in front.
In this moment, time seems to slow down. I hold my breath, feeling as though my spirit has become one with that sprinting figure.
The rustling of leaves, the flapping wings of birds, the yelling of the audience, the checkered flag waving mid-air... all of them gather into one voice-
Announcer: The first place goes to No. 07!
On the big screen, Gavin’s name is listed impressively at the top.
At the final moment, he attained first place with a 0.06 second difference, winning the championship.
Gavin did it!
The motorcycle comes to a gradual halt. Gavin removes his helmet, droplets of sweat reflecting bright rays of light beneath the sunlight.
The smile on his face is sparkling and dazzling, bringing with it the confidence belonging to a victor.
Such a result is both unexpected yet within my expectations.
Gavin turns around, looking squarely in my direction.
He shakes his head casually, which has gotten messy from his helmet, and says two words.
Gavin: We won.
-
The employees push the motorcycles back to the venue. Gavin heads over to the referee’s seat, lowers his head and says a few things before walking to me.
The gold medal in his hand dangles slightly, reflecting a dazzling light.
Cheers from the surroundings grow brighter as he draws closer. Separated by the bleachers, he stretches out his hand towards me -
He leans over the bleachers slightly. As he draws closer, I can detect the scent belonging only to Gavin.
Gavin hangs the medal around my neck, announcing our victory.
Gavin: The champion title - we’ve got it.
My mouth opens, but I have no idea what to say. My body reacts faster than my brain. I stretch out both arms, hugging him with all the strength in my body.
Scorching warmth and the dampness of sweat from the competition linger on him.
Gavin returns the embrace. It’s as though this hug is enough for us to understand each other’s sentiments.
Gavin: I think I heard you cheering me on.
MC: I did it so softly, but you could hear it?
Gavin: Mm, the wind told me. Everything you say - I can hear them.
MC: There’s still one thing the wind hasn’t had the time to tell you. I’ll say it myself right now.
Turning my face to the side, I bring it close to his ear.
MC: Gavin, you’ll always be the only champion in my heart.
Could you do a Jesse Lingard imagine? One where you're his daughters babysitter and every time he's off to training, you're at his place, babysitting Hope. He's had feelings for you since you started working with them a few months ago and Hope practically is crazy in love with you. One day Jesse makes it home early, catching you baking with his little princess while singing to Frozen songs and debating about which ice cream flavour is best. Your shift doesn't finish till another hour so you're still around, this time Jesse joining in on the rest of your activities and he watches while you put Hope out for her nap, adoring you more. You have small talk as you make your way to leave but before you do, he asks you out.
Ooo I'm excited for this one, thank you!
Babysitting
Whenever someone found out about your job, which was babysitting Jesse Lingards' daughter, they were incredibly jealous. "I bet you love your job," they would say, "being able to work for one of the sexiest footballers out there!"
However, the truth was that you barely saw Jesse apart from at the beginning and end of your shifts. The rest of the time you were on your own with Hope.
Nevertheless, they were right, you did love your job. Hope was an amazing kid, both funny, sweet and fairly easy to care for. On top of that it paid way more than any of your previous babysitting gigs.
Today had started of as any other day; you going over to Jesse's house to watch Hope. Jesse greeted you as you arrived, the two of you having a quick chat before he had to leave. However, what differed from other days was the small "good luck" he had thrown your way before getting in his car.
It turned out that the normally cheerful Hope was in quite the mood; grumpily not going along with any of the things you suggested that you could do.
"Do you want to go play outside in the rain?"
"No!" She huffed, crossing her arms sassily.
"Do you want to draw something?"
"No!"
Eventually you suggested that you could bake some brownies for when her dad returned from practice. Luckily she agreed to that, her previous mood completely replaced with a cheery one.
Immediately afterwards the two of you got to work as you put on her absolute favorite soundtrack in the entire world; the one from Frozen.
The music was still playing when Jesse returned from his practice early, making his return unnoticed by the two of you.
Instead of greeting you immediately he stood in the doorway into the kitchen, watching you do the dishes while the brownies were in the oven. You and Hope were also talking about the cake you were going to eat.
"Ice cream too?" Hope asked, giving you pleading eyes.
"Are you kidding? Ice cream to brownies is mandatory!" You giggled, poking her nose playfully.
Hope wanted chocolate flavor, but you tried to tell her that vanilla was a better choice. "Since the brownies are made of chocolate it might be a bit too much chocolate then," you tried to reason, "plus vanilla is much better anyways!"
"Chocolate is best. Silly Y/N," Hope scoffed - making you laugh.
Eventually Jesse decided to make his presence known, walking into the kitchen and greeting you.
"Daddy!" Hope squealed and ran over to hug him.
"Hi princess!" He lifted her up and held her in his arms.
"You're home early!" You commented, giving him a polite smile.
"Yeah, we finished a bit earlier as a reward for our recent win," he shrugged.
You didn't quite know what to do next. Your shift didn't end for another hour or so, and the brownies weren't even finished yet, but now that Jesse was home you didn't want to overstay your welcome.
"I should probably get going then," you awkwardly said - not quite sure if you were telling him about leaving, or asking if you should.
"No," Hope protested as she heard you, "Y/N, stay!"
Jesse agreed with his daughter. "You should stay, at least until the brownies are done. Can't have you making them and not even getting a taste."
"That would be tragic," you stated with a laugh, giving in and deciding to stay a little longer.
If Jesse was honest with himself he was happy that he got to spend a little time with you too. From the start he had been attracted to you, but when he saw how great you were with Hope; and he got to know you better through small talk, the attraction had evolved into something more. He had even contemplated asking you out for a while now, but the fear of rejection held him back. Maybe you would find it weird seeing how he technically was your boss.
Before any of you could say another word your timer went off; indicating that the brownies were done. Hope clapped her hands together in glee, knowing what the sound meant. "Brownies!"
The three of you ate the brownies together in harmony. Jesse had gotten both chocolate and vanilla flavored ice cream out of the freezer, trying to make both his girls happy. Well, although you technically weren't his girl, he definitely wanted you to be.
You laughed and joked around with each other, all whilst listening to the Frozen soundtrack - that Hope refused to let you turn off.
After the brownies had been eaten it was time for Hope's afternoon nap. Jesse got up to take her, but you beat him to it. "I'll do it," you smiled and carried her up the stairs and into her bedroom.
Jesse trailed after you and watched as you laid her down and sung her favorite bedtime song, staying with her until she fell asleep.
You blushed as you felt his gaze on you, but kept your own gaze on Hope. Although you never dared to admit it to anyone you had developed a small crush on the footballer. You never said anything though, afraid he would find it weird since you worked for him.
Eventually you got up and faced him with a smile. "Well, I guess that it my cue to leave for today." He nodded, "I'll walk you to the door."
You grabbed your coat and said your goodbyes; but the minute you stepped outside you heard him speak up again.
"Would you," he cleared his voice before continuing, "would you like to go out for dinner sometime? Just the two of us, no Hope."
You smiled and internally cheered, happy he felt the same way that you did.
"Yeah, sounds like a date."
