tokyo mew mew fanart in the year of our lord 2024 god who am i.. i've been in a super art funk so i just wanted to make some incredibly basic sketches... pie was the first drawing on the canvas because i wanted to see him with long hair and then i made 4-year time skip hairdos for all 3 alien boys + post-DB!aoyama... what if he grew his hair out what if his ears were a lil pointier. what then.
I am not over the fact that Jesper didn’t realise he’d met Wylan before until he was literally on top of him. He didn’t recognise his one night stand until he was On Top Of Him,,,, that’s the angle he had to have to remember his face,, there’s only one image that’s fitting for this.
small aside but y'know how luffy's stupidity is usually met with physical abuse of some kind? anyway. here's law's worst in response to luffy being manipulated by his arch nemesis
Just a chart about what I wanna change up and keep consistent in my art - I mainly wanna draw Raph with a tail because he deserves one, it fits too well. Donnie gets a long tail too because I didn’t realize how dino-like he looks until I gave him one, and now it’s a must for me haha.
Luffy not knowing about Zoro promising Sanji to kill him if he ever ends up losing himself makes me go feral because that's something they can only know about. Because Zoro's respect for life and death goes beyond anything, and Sanji knows he understands. Sanji knows that if somebody has to kill him, it's him.
And I don't even think it's because Sanji assumes Zoro's opinion of him is hatred and it would hurt less for him to do this, but because Sanji knows only Zoro would be able to treat the promise as it is. Because he would put Sanji's wishes before any feelings he has for him. It's not that Zoro doesn't care, but I think he respects people's ideals and decisions to the extent of being able to kill Sanji if he so desires.
That being said, he'd do it if there's no other way to fix it. If it's either dying or living as an emotionless machine, which is the same as dying for Sanji, Zoro would fulfill his promise. And there is just... Something about Luffy not knowing. Their captain. The man they're devoted to the most as if he were their God. Luffy doesn't know. It's something only the captain's wings are aware of and the thought of these two keeping this from Luffy until the end is just insane. Not even trying to make it romantic here, but the bond and respect these two have for each other is crazy.
Maybe it's the poetry of it all, too. Somebody like Zoro, who has looked at Death in her face multiple times and said "no", ending Sanji's life, who wants to give in to death to not experience a fate worse than death for him.
I do acknowledge that the Marvel writers were, to a certain extent, trapped in production hell when it came to adapting Clint Barton into the MCU and I do appreciate the glimpses of his comic personality that they managed to sneak into the MCU. Some of my favorites include but are not limited to:
“Look the city is-is flying. The city is flying. We’re fighting an army of robots. And I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense”
When faced with a completely unknown opponent who’s clearly some kind of enhanced the middle of a fight: “We haven’t met yet, I’m Clint.”
“Nobody would know. Nobody. Last I saw him an Ultron was sitting on him. Yeah I miss him already that quick little bastard.”
“Unfortunately, he’s still Barton” “Oh that’s terrible” Because he’s a little SHIT
“You’re no match for him Cap.” “Thanks Barton”
Hits a bullseye on the dart board half a centimeter from Tony’s face with absolutely no warning just because he can
In THE maximum security prison getting lectured by Tony Stark: “Blah blah blah…”
Actively lying on the floor after getting his shit rocked by a child: “Yeah you better run.”
Smugly, towards the aforementioned child: “What? You didn’t see that coming?”
Doesn’t tell his teammates that he’s taking them to his secret farmhouse in the middle of nowhere where he has a secret family. Also does not tell his wife that he’s bringing the entire Avengers lineup to her house. Because he’s a dramatic bitch with abysmal communication skills.
Does a stupid little dramatic flourish just to shoot an arrow into the fucking wall in front of literally no one but Wanda. Just for funsies.
Is played by Jeremy Renner, who I can’t Google without learning about his latest life-threatening injury. On brand.
Turns his hearing aids off at a bad musical
“Good thing they call you HawkEYE and not HawkEAR” “Hahaha. Block. Delete.” (100% did not block and delete)
Casually boards the subway after a whole entire car chase
“And the Challenger gets wrecked anyway!”
“How’s my apartment?” “…crispy”
“Sorry Santa!”
“You rely too much on technology” “Well my weapon of choice is a stick and a string”
“I’ve been taking karate since I was five” “Oh so last year?”
“Oh hey… I know you” Casually hands over the most powerful weapon in the universe.
To an actual literal chipmunk after he just jumped out the window of a skyscraper and landed in the Time Square Christmas tree “…hey”
“Clint where are you?” “I’m in the tree!” “What? Which tree?” “THE three!”
"Did you get in trouble for taking the cup into the ocean?"
"Yes. Yes."
"Did Rodrigues? He took it in there too!"
"Did he?"
"Yeah!"
"Well, I mean, I brought it under the water—looking back..."
"What happened?"
"You bring silver into the ocean, saltwater—no!"
"Oh, I didn't know that."
"I haven't slept! How am I supposed to know? Nobody told me the rules!"
"You haven't slept!"
"Yeah, but you're naughty—"
"But hey! If I would've known about it... oh no, I still probably would've done it. Still probably would've done it!"
"Dude, who cares! That thing has been abused all through the years!"
"No, no! The cup guys understood, the cup keepers understood—they, you know, told me the rules after and I swear to God I didn't know before but, yeah. Great memories! Great pictures!

oceangate evolves further the more we talk about it so if youd like to see the other previous developments in concerns to it...
and also because its funny here are some of the times the cup has been held near or above water both salt, fresh and chlorine alike since oceangate in no particular order
and i just think its very clear when oceangate happened because now everyones holding the cup high above the water/near bodies of water and not letting it get dunked
but pre-oceangate the cup was just dunked in maffhews pool hours after they won it (which was before they went to las olas and welp the rest is history)
thinking abt merlin through the ages contending with the fact that arthur is still so present in the land. in mythology in legend in fairytales told to children in books and films and countless other forms of memory. throughout the world he is remembered still, and yes it isn't really him they're remembering, it's the legend of him, the myth, the heroic fool's gold shimmer of his legacy. but he's still here.
i do think there is something wrong with me because i am realising that my reactions to some of the things that luo binghe did because of his love for shen qingqiu seem to be relatively muted compared to others’. like don’t get me wrong, luo binghe definitely did that like he for sure went there but like at the same time i think he’s so fucking valid and maybe if people just stopped judging the kid for being the teensiest bit obsessed and took the time to understand his hangups then they’d see that too
So I don't buy for a second that Derek would have ever forgotten about the marriage pact, not even a little bit.
I think he absolutely remembered it and it was heavy on his mind at the beginning of his Step 4 -- not because he thought it could actually happen, but because he knew it couldn't, that it never would.
Like he's 13, he can't bring himself to tell you that he likes you or to try to ask you out, so he comes up with the idea for the marriage pact, right? And in his 13-year-old brain, that works. That's something to go on, something to get him towards the ultimate goal of marrying you and living happily ever after.
But then he gets older. Time goes by, and as he starts to understand more about adult relationships, he really begins to understand that that just isn't how it works at all.
And I think he'd be kind of embarrassed by it? Like ashamed of himself to think that his dumb little idea could ever lead to a happy ending with you. And that HURTS.
Basically this whole thing is just to say that I think he would really beat himself up HARD over the years about the marriage pact and about how foolish it was for him to hope that things could work out like that. Triple points if you go the route of shrugging off the pact when you talk to him about it on the balcony in Step 4 -- like it's him alone in his room with you so close but so, so far, and you laughing it off was just proof that he's always been an idiot, that he's never deserved you.
