No matter how progressive or well-read you are, there are always going to be moments in your life where somebody pushes back against something that's so culturally ingrained you never even considered it before. And you'll say "Huh, it never occurred to me to challenge this but you're right" and that doesn't mean you were "morally toxic" before, it means you're a non-omniscient human capable of growth.

Pipa 琵琶 is a traditional Chinese musical instrument. Sometimes called the "Chinese lute"
The earliest mention of pipa in Chinese texts appeared in the Han dynasty around the 2nd century AD. The pipa is one of the most popular Chinese instruments and has been played for almost two thousand years in China. Several related instruments are derived from the pipa, including the Japanese biwa, Korean bipa, and the Vietnamese đàn tỳ bà.

Fun fact: Georges Vuitton, the son of Louis Vuitton, attended the Japanese and Chinese Art Exhibition in Paris, where this 8th century Tang dynasty pipa was displayed, inspired by its patterns, the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram was born.
