This is an incoherent ramble of a mess be forewarned (there is pretty much no punctuation)

Wow I sure do love the smoke alarm in the place my friend @oldsoulsoupbrain is moving into having the dead battery beeps so I change the battery on Sunday but it keeps beeping so I push the button to try and silence it which ends up triggering it to actually go off every like 2-5 minutes if not more often and the super was contacted on Sunday and she said she was at her sister's having dinner and she'd look at it on Monday and then wasn't responding to texts on Monday but responds to an update text a couple hours later saying she was at an appointment so she probably didn't actually go in and then tell us later Monday that she has to contact head office to get approval to do stuff so that means they won't respond by at least late morning Tuesday and noon Tuesday we were told that we need to put in a formal maintenance request so who knows how long it'll take for them to respond and address the issue so my friend sent in the request but isn't able to attach a video of the alarm going off because max file size is 5MG so they texted the video to the super

Oh and my friend needs to be fully moved in Wednesday (tomorrow) but we don't want to spend too much time at the new place because of how loud and annoying the alarm is so we've been dropping off items and more or less immediately leaving

So we've been able to go back to their old place to escape the noise but all the other residents who actually live there have been stuck with a fire alarm going off probably 24/7 for 3 days now

And the fire alarm is wired into the building so they'll probably be like "oh only an electrician can do wiring" which would take even longer to get one in

We can hear people from other apartments getting more and more agitated and arguing about the alarm and general stuff because this is basically sound torture at this point so tensions are so high strung now

Oh and today I'm driving back home (400km, ~4-5 hours depending on traffic) today and was asked to be back by dinner time but there's still items that need to be moved while a car is here and I'm not gonna leave my friend high and dry so I'm clearly not going to be home by that time

Update: it's 12:47 and we just got a text saying that the request went through and Dan is going into the apartment to change the smoke detector (Dan the handyman?????😂)

So that's great because tbh we were figuring it was going to take days to get any sort of response

We've been texting/calling my mum because we are but children 👉👈 and she went and texted her cousins (who live in the same city my friend does) to see if they could help

Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.

Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.

But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.

And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "

He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors. Be the person that I was in the process of becoming and might have been (or might still be), if only Joker hadn't clipped my wings."

He's saying "I am prepared to become vengeance, become the Night. And I will go further than Bruce ever dared to, because it is what is needed. I will be the necessary evil. But you don't have to be. If Batman is Gotham's curse, Robin has always been its blessing. I will be the brutal punishment to our world, and I am asking you to be its incandescent gift."

it's sometimes so silly to look in the notes of a polyamory art/post and see people like "is this cheating art....?" when the characters in canon are all extremely close friends. i know it's not malicious because most people think of monogamy as the default and anything outside that Must be cheating, but truly i'm always like. guys. guys Please.

please think about this for like 2 seconds.

under what circumstances do we think this non-canon couple might hold hands directly in front of their canon partners. and under what circumstances do we think the canon partners might be okay with this. do we Truly think this is a secret relationship. do we Truly think these guys would sneak around behind their canon partners' backs when all of them are extremely close friends with a high level of trust and commitment to each other.

would assuming that these extremely close friends have actually communicated with one another Exactly The Same Way They Do In The Canon Source Material perhaps cause less despair.....

Well, what about a fic where capture target Alberu goes to sleep one day and dreams with the plot of his life— that apparently is a game???— and finds out that:

First, the new student is going to start a war if she/he/they keep acting like they do.

Second, there's a high chance that Marquis Stan and his son, Venion, betray Roan.

And third— his fianceé, Cale Henituse, is actually really truly cute.

Now, how can he convince his fianceé that a position as the husband of the future ruler is a better way to avoid a succession battle than, you know, tarnishing his own reputation to ashes? He also has to woe him as he deserves. There's no way he's treating him the same as his alternate self did.

(Yes, alternate. Because now he has seen how adorable, intelligent and sweet he is, he can't possible be so indifferent towards him.

Alternate Alberu is the stupid Alberu and present-Alberu denies any relationship to him.

"Aunt, if I ever become so dumb, please put some sense into me."

"Alberu, you haven't even checked if that dream was true."

"It was a very realistic dream.")

He also needs allies. Hmm... Maybe he could ask his help? Cale doesn't seem someone who would trust completely in someone who doesn't trust him back. Plus, he probably could come up with a plan or two in the time it takes to make a pot of tea.

Why do you like Tan? Strange. I'm just curious. It seems like you don't usually pay much attention to him. Are you expecting a serious answer? Yep. Well, liking someone doesn't need a lot of reasons. He's cute. He's funny. When I'm with him, I feel at ease. Especially when I'm stressed because of work, he can help lighten my mood.
