I've seen some interesting takes on roasting the various Chapters of the Gallifreyan Academy....

Here are my favorites.... Yes I know who I swiped some of them from. They decided to believe that it slander and now they can stay salty.

Upper Triad

Oh look, it's all a political prowess of Gallifrey and absolutely none of the chill. These are the chapters everyone hears about and for good reason, they got all of the political power. Unfortunately for everyone they also got absolutely no chill and tend to be a little on the extra side.

Prydonians

This is definitely the chapter of the single person debate teams. They absolutely also did create a 15-page cited paper on why your opinion is trash and will show it to you without you asking. This is the political science group and they are as smart and cunning as they are extra, I'm pretty sure this is why this chapter creates more Lord Presidents and Renegades than any other. The chapter colors are Scarlet and burnt orange, just like the planet. Lord Rassilon founded this chapter and I'm certain he's just down for this.

Arcalians

This chapter will absolutely go poke it with a stick to see what happens. The curious and science loving group. These nerds and their Patrexes homies Are absolutely the ones creating and running the experiments. Arcaleans though me not have the most practical experiments and are probably just curious. Yes, that is a watermelon full of c4 and no, you do not get to ask why..... Colors are green and brown and I could get them lost in a forest on Earth, not that the founders Lord Omega would be there (hint - he's still in the lab with the Techs).

Patrexean

There is so much glitter in This description. This is the engineering, music and artistic group. They absolutely produce some of the most practical things on the planet and some of the most absolutely jaw-droppingly bizarre. I am quite certain that they would be the group 100% cheering on the guy who did a series of overly engineered glitter bombs for porch pirates. The colors they ended up with are heliotrope and yellow and nothing will convince me that this was not part of a prank where the other decided they were going to melt Lord Rassilon's eyes out of his head. I am quite certain it worked and now we all get to look at it.

Lower Triad

Oh look, I found all of gallifrey's chill.... In the lower Triad. Go figure, heat does rise and chill. Things do tend to sink unless it's ice.

Dromeian

Everybody's favorite group of archaeologists and librarians. Don't piss them off, they will never forget it and it will live on in archives forever... Essentially. This extraordinarily goth looking group was founded by Patrician Aperion and they are probably completely finished with everybody's bullshit. A tendency to wear spiky boots, and the chapter colors being nothing but grays is not helping. At least this chapter has the record sorted and potentially at least one spray bottle for when over enthusiastic academy student is overstating their welcome.

Cerulean

This would be everybody's favorite group of hippie nerds. It's like solar punk became an entire chapter and they dress in nothing but blue. Lady Lasluine is most likely the one that kept everyone from absolutely demolishing each other. I am very certain it is the Cerulean chapter that makes sure that snacks are available for everyone and that people actually eat and sleep. There's nothing like a bunch of hyper focused nerds who forget that sleeping and eating is actually necessary. For what this group likes and political power, they definitely know how to network and socialize.

Scendeles

Gallifrey's favorite group of blessed little math nerds. Honestly, this is the chillest group of people you will ever meet, they just vibe... Very consistently. Somehow the chapter that probably manages everybody's checkbook also has the least political power. I am pretty sure that they are all also music nerds as the Venn diagram between music, nerds and math nerds tends to be less of a then diagram and more of a slightly out of focus circle. Patrician Pandak started this chapter and I refuse to believe that they bankrupt themselves, however, I somehow managed to believe that their founder can read lips and likes heavy metal.

The only criticism I really want right now is if I spelled someone's name wrong.... Or if you have a good argument on if I got the first two chapters in the lower Triad backwards.... That is the only one I'm uncertain about.

Neopets/Skyrim Tarot: Queen & King of Cups

In the Skyrim Tarot, the Suit of Cups is instead depicted as the Suit of Voice. Refer to this post for my broader Minor Arcana suit complaints.

It's just now occurred to me that I didn't provide an actual overview of what the cards in the Cups suit mean, much less go into the Ace, Six, Page, and Knight. My bad, y'all. Let's pick back up the right way with the Queen and King of Cups.

These are the rulers of the Suit of Cups and the Court of Water. They are full embodiments of mastery over everything that the Cups suit represents - interpersonal relationships, emotions, healing, fluidity, and connections. Plenty of people call water a feminine element but I think that's stupid. The Queen embodies inner mastery, while the King embodies external mastery. This is typically depicted as the Queen being compassionate and emotionally stable, while the King is diplomatic and emotionally balanced.

As we go through this, we'll first compare the two Queens, then the Kings will come later in the post.

The Soup Faerie is a Faerie best known by her chosen duty - creating a giant pot of magical soup every day for the poorest of Neopia's Neopets. She lives in Neopia Central and is absolutely dutiful - the only thing that stopped her from doing her work was being turned to stone during the Faeries' Ruin. The moment she was out, she got back to work. She is the embodiment of getting the job done and building one's community. She's also one of the few Faeries depicted as wearing pants instead of skirts or a dress, which is neat.

I can think of no better Neopian to embody the Queen of Cups than the Soup Faerie. She is out here, unbothered by most things, focusing on her work and occasionally tapping some Neopians for help with a quest to get particular items. She's great, I love her.

Kyne. Kaan. Sister Hawk. Goddess of the Storm. Widow of Shor. The Blessed Warrior-Wife. The Mother of Men and Beasts. The Kiss at the End. One of the Hearth Gods and chief of the Nordic pantheon since Shor's death. The one who spoke to Paarthurnax and convinced him to teach the Thu'um to the ancient Nords so they could free themselves from their draconic rulers.

While many refer to Kyne and Kynareth as one and the same, particularly in places like Whiterun circa 4E 201, Nords who still follow older versions of their religion consider Kynareth a pale shadow of Kyne. While Mara has the status of Mother-Goddess of the Empire, she is the handmaiden of Kyne to the Nords. (Not that it's a bad thing - being a handmaiden of a goddess, even as another goddess, is a lot of work!) It's very fascinating to me that the deck specifically says Kyne rather than Kynareth, which I think is neat.

While I, personally, would have made the Voice suit not exist into the Court of Air suit rather than the Court of Water, I'm going to grit my teeth and accept that we have this. Kyne as the Queen of this suit makes perfect sense, and I'm always happy to see deities in this series get noticed.

The Tiki Tack Man is a...something...who lives in Mystery Island. Like Dr. Sloth, no one knows what the Tiki Tack Man is, as he always wears a mask (even when he was being mind controlled that one time, it was swapped with a different mask). He runs the always-free Tombola and supports local artisans by selling their wares at his shop or giving them away as Tombola prizes. The guidebook also points out that we don't know where he comes from or how old he is. When asked, the Neopets team just says that he's not a Faerie or a Neopet, he's the owner of the Tiki Tack Tombola.

A key aspect of the King of Cups is that he probably gives the best hugs. The Tiki Tack Man embodies that entirely.

We've talked briefly about Jurgen Windcaller because his horn is depicted as the pips for the Voice suit. Jurgen Windcaller, later known as Jurgen the Calm, was a Nord warrior from the First Era who had one of the most powerful Voices of all, but after getting his ass thoroughly beat by the Tribunal during the Dwemer-Chimer Battle of Red Mountain, he realized that fighting was just going to be a bitch forever because the Nords had become just as arrogant as the dragons and misused the Thu'um, so he discovered the Way of the Voice and founded the Greybeards for the glory and worship of the gods. (Though, interestingly, he himself is never depicted with a grey beard. Guess he has a really good dye job and skincare routine. Also fucking today I learned that the Greybeards really are spelled like an E like I originally thought instead of the gray-with-an-A way. Fucking hell.) Anyway, once Jurgen finally died, he was buried at Ustengrav and was later seen in Sovngarde by the Dragonborn.

Since this suit is the Suit of Voice, it makes perfect sense that he is the King. And he is both a notable character in the lore as well as a character whose influence is felt strongly in the Skyrim main quest, so he makes sense as the King of Voice.

Theoryposting: Is 2025-2026 time for some kind of Danganronpa game?

Theory Background

First of all, it's important to remember Spike Chunsoft's assertion in 2021 that the Danganronpa franchise will continue to expand with games in various genres. And this was ultimately just one of multiple times that they've teased future DR games.

Up to now, the longest we've gone without a new Danganronpa game of SOME kind was the 2017-2021 window between Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (aka "New Danganronpa V3") and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.

In terms of global release, those two games were four years and two months apart.

In terms of Japanese-specific release, they were four years and 11 months apart—just barely shy of five years.

(And before that, the gap between Dangnaronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls and Danganronpa V3 was two years and four months in Japan, or three years on the worldwide market. Unbelievably, this was the previous record for gaps between games. That's just how blessed we were with DR content during the 2010s.)

If you want to keep your IP relevant in the minds of your audience, you do have to occasionally seed some new content out there. And at this point, they don't even have spin-off manga or light novels to rely on keeping DR in the minds of consumers; Danganronpa Kirigiri wrapped up in 2020, a year before we got Ultimate Summer Camp.

So it seems to me like 2025-2026 is a logical window in which to release the next side game. It's time for the next diversion that will keep the name "Danganronpa" relevant—presumably without actually making a proper Danganronpa 4. (Personally, I'm imagining that SC wants to leave the possibility of a Kodaka return open for a little while longer before they go down that road themselves without his involvement... which is probably what will have to eventually happen. One day.)

Possible Release Timing

To keep things copacetic between Spike Chunsoft and TooKyo Games, SC probably wouldn't want to release some new game at a time that would step on the toes of The Hundred Line. One has to assume that The Hundred Line will follow the example of Master Detective Archives: Rain Code and release onto other platforms roughly a year after its initial Nintendo Switch and PC releases. With The Hundred Line scheduled for April 2025 and probably landing on other platforms some time in between April and July of 2026, that leaves the back half of either 2025 or 2026 as the safest windows.

2025 is also the 15th anniversary of Danganronpa. I'm just sayin'.

What kind of gaming are we talking about?

I'm honestly not sure I should even hazard a guess. I imagine the eventual answer, if there is one, will likely be NOTHING that I'd predict. But I will at least try to come up with working theories.

Ultimate Summer Camp was really a giant-sized expansion of the post-game "Ultimate Talent Development Camp" mode from DRV3. So the easiest course of action would be to expand some OTHER post-game mode into a bigger, fuller game. That serves as the fuel for most of my theories.

Using "Despair Dungeon" mode as the basis for a more full-featured dungeon-crawling RPG game that has an actual story to it. This seems like the easiest and most logical pathway to me...

Using "School Mode"/"Island Mode" as the basis for a much bigger resource management/allocation game of some kind.

Or maybe using the resource management of "School Mode"/"Island Mode" AND the dialogue-choice-consequence system of "Love Across the Universe: Dangan Salmon Team" as the basis for a DR dating sim?

Outside of just expanding existing concepts like that, though, I think there's still another possibility. Remember that 2022 Spanish interview where Kodaka suggested remaking the original Danganronpa with slightly altered plot details and in full 3D as a way to revitalize the series? One has to assume that a remake—even one with some altered storytelling—would take a lot less involvement from Kodaka than a full-on new game would, so it's at least possible.

Or maybe not.

But of course, this is all just a theory. (A GAME THEORY!) Spike Chunsoft could always opt to keep Danganronpa in the public eye in far lesser, quieter ways. They could continue to rely on DR characters showing up in other games ala Crypt of the Necrodancer, Mystery Chronicle: One-Way Heroics, Riichi Street and the like. And/or they could finally free DRAE from its PlayStation prison and port Ultra Despair Girls to the PC, Nintendo, and Xbox platforms. These are hardly the ideal scenarios. ... But then again, nothing I've posited here is really "ideal."

"Ideal" would be getting an actual DR4 or that long-hoped-for Danganronpa Fighting Game. :P

yellow rose manor is going to eventually be a series, but it's going to be my take of what happens when you have a bunch of zillennial supernatural entities renting an apartment together and their ensuing adventures and shenanigans with all the plots rooted in real life issues of stuff like domestic abuse, religious trauma, addiction, etc. etc.

It's set in San Francisco, so the apartment is an old Victorian home that is haunted on a very structural level by the ghost of a murdered nine year old Victorian era girl who possesses the house because her body was buried in the foundations. So she's the kind of haunting where if you set up foundational stones in other places she can teleport the house to those foundation stones, she can change the very structure of the building to screw with you (moving doors, stairs, etc.) and is simultaneously everyone's mom due to her chronological age vs. death age and the WOULD YOU STOP THAT poltergeist.

Her compatriot and "dad" of the house is the "landlord" which is really just her old friend who solved her murder back in the 1800s and has taken care of her and the house ever since. His fun twist is that he's actually Galahad the grail knight and spends his eternity following the magically moving island of avalon to protect arthur and await his return. We have some good old loyal knight pining after his king situation here. The house moves with him and for now Avalon is magically posted out in San Francisco Bay by Angel Island and Alcatraz, not that mortals can see it. He is begrudging team dad, the tired and burnt out idealist who is trying so hard to not live up to his legend anymore and just be a guy waiting for his love to wake up. Because he's so burnt out about the world that if he tried to use The Greatest Knight Of The Roundtable Skills without those morals/guiding lights anymore, he's going to just hurt people. We'll see if his latest tenants/eventual found family can help him hope and believe again.

The other members of the house are a medium/witch who is running away from her abusive hyper-religious family and is the newest addition to this house (brought on via a craigslist ad because they need someone to purge the ghost haunting this house they just moved into, it's a really nice house with cheap rent and the landlord is never around, pleaaase?).

Then there is a vampire who has agoraphobia from pre-bitten times, was transformed only twenty years ago or so and HATES that this is the era he's gotta be starting out as immortal in. I have some heft addiction and prior domestic abuse arcs planned for him, it's going to be a good but painful time.

There's a werewolf who is Muslim and has the biggest golden retriever energy, and she handles her zoomies energy by playing on a very physical local recreational soccer team. It'll be a take on lycanthropy where it's viewed as a blessing/god giving you the power to defend that which you love instead of a curse, and she treats it as such.

There is one human in the house, his name is Kevin, and he makes sure that everyone has the appropriate meals and nutrition and supernatural existence requirements/enrichment. His running gag is that everyone he gets close to turns out to be supernatural, and he's so proud when he brings his girlfriend home to show off like hey look guys a fully normal human isn't she great? At which point Galahad walks in and just says "yeah so how did you of all people meet Doto the Nereid", and Kevin just loses his mind.

The first book will be called The House On the Hill and opens like this:

There was a house that lived on a hill. This was not unusual for San Francisco where nearly every house, apartment, office, and parking lot was, in fact, built upon a hill. It made for messy city life—parallel parking from an even deeper circle of hell, savage cardio workouts built into the weekly run to the local grocery store (if it hadn’t been demolished in favor of the latest hipster shop in a never-ending chain of hipster shops), and a sizeable yearly budget for brake pads. Nevertheless, there was still a house that lived on a hill.

I'm back from holiday and I'm watching Sherlock Holmes Granada's The red circle tonight. There aren't many episodes I haven't watched left. I've been putting off The three gables and The dying detective since I really didn't like those stories, and I first would like to read the novels before I watch those movies, so this marathon is nearing the end :( I have no doubt however that I will be rewatching this series from time to time.

I don't remember much of The red circle anymore. Something with a kidnapped timekeeper, hidden female lodger and a couple fleeing from some Italian crime circle?

We're starting with murder, a couple fleeing and a man breaking into their house and creepily sniffing her night gown. Really sets the mood

I love it when Watson narrates the start of the case. Feels reminescent of the stories. And Holmes working on his scrap book and acting like a petulant child when he is interrupted at his task - straight out of the canon, so good

Holmes: "If I were your lodger you would not see me for weeks on end. That does not trouble you, does it mrs. Hudson?" "Nothing troubles me when you're concerned," Haha, I love mrs. Hudson

Holmes looks so touched when the client tells him about how an earlier client praised him. *watches this part 10 times just to stare into Jeremy Brett's eyes*

Holmes' black dressing gown is gorgeous. I want one

"Watson, deduce." "Me? *chuckles*" Aww, Watson is adorable and Edward Hardwicke played him so well. I love how engaged Watson is in the Granada series. He's actually an active part of each case.

"Please vanish" Rude, Holmes! Leaving mrs. Hudson and Watson once again to do damage control

Holmes: "I helped him (his former client) find a close relative once." So much emotion and hestancy there. I'm not entirely sure why Jeremy Brett chose to act so affected? I bet he had a whole headcanon about that former case. I wish I could still ask him! It is like he's acting like Holmes didn't tell Watson everything there. Did Jeremy interpret Holmes as feeling like he failed that former client maybe?

Watson against Holmes' former client: "Some are more at risk than others because of their beliefs and courage." "I do what I do, doctor. Don't make me out to be a saint" Oh this is all so intruging. Something more than just case-related is being implied but I can't lay my finger on what exactly

The former client is murdered right while he is at work in the theater? Gods. Holmes' and Watson's reactions tear at my heart

Jeremy Brett singing and narrating when he and Watson are looking at the agony coloms is oscar worthy. I adore him

mrs. Hudson: "What is it mr. Holmes, I'm washing curtains!" Bless that woman. Can't even wash her curtains in peace :D

I have to laugh at the kidnapping scene. They literally yeeted him out of the moving couch, poor old man

Landlord: "And I don't care for foreigners!" Holmes, with disdain: "Oh really?"

They kept the insane "journeys end with lovers meeting!" quote from Holmes to Hopkins. I love it

*Holmes climbs out of the roof, scares the hell out of everyone in the house* He totally would do that, wouldn't he? Excellent addition to the canon story

Holmes is so gentle and understanding when he goes to meet the lodger, he's so soft at heart and the whole Granada team understands that so well

They really made the finale very exciting, with the villain right at the lodger's door and the chase on the roof and the rolling down the stairs! Ouch, both Holmes and the american detective got a little bloody. Luckily Watson is close at hand. Always appreciate a bit of hurt/comfort

American detective: "When you're on a trail of a lifetime, mr Holmes, you put all thoughts of personal safety out of your mind". Oh he knows. I'm not sure Holmes even knows what personal safely means

This vaillain is like a fish - he escapes everyone's grasp. Until he finally got murdered himself. I love that his wife runs out over the street to look for her husband when she sees through the window that something went wrong

"No doubt mister Holmes, if you'd be here on your own you'd have found a different solution." "The law is what we live with, inspector. Justice is sometimes harder to archieve" What a great quote.

And then the couple gets a happy ending, and they go to the opera. Jeremy Brett's expression as he listens is perfection

Granada has done it again. I didn't find the canon story that memorable, but they made it into another great episode. I really loved this one.

By all means if he wants to step away from music go ahead. I support him and I think he should be able to do as he pleases career wise. He shouldn’t be tied down to one thing forever. All artists grow and flourish. For example Rihanna and its Fenty beauty and Savage lingerie. Beyoncé with hair care and clothing. Lizzo with workout gear. 50 with movies and shows. I think he should be able to move in and do other and possibly bigger things that he sees for weather that be Moms spaghetti, production, or merch. But if he wants to do merch he needs to step it tf up. Because it’s all the same and it’s getting boring. Do a real menswear like. Do some new hat brand. Or focus on expanding his Resturant or team up with 50 for moves and shows or even put MORE energy into his record label because it could use it if he wants to do producing and not necessarily rapping on the mic.

And yea, he should hear his fans out. They are a big pet as to why he’s here and thriving. And no offense but especially the younger ones now. He had a whole new generation listening to him. He can either use it to his advantage and make another album or not. But to be putting merch out every week is crazy. Because who is keep that man in business? 🤨

As for footnote, I heard that Paul wanted him to do it because Paul’s SON plays the game and he got the idea from that so they r ached out to fortnite… but Paul isn’t Marshall. Why does he have to collab with Fortnite because of your son and you think it’s a good money maker? Marshall doesn’t belong in a kids game period. If anything they should’ve tried to get him to voice in GTA6 or have his music in the game somehow… that would been HUGE for him considering the gta situation with him from back in the day.

And I feel like he’s gonna lose that lawsuit. And tbh I HOPE he does. It’s stupid. I get you wanna go hard for your daughter but babes… they were a podcast first. They been around for a while. No one is confusing the two. Plus, if Hailie cares so much then she needs to be a big girl and sue them herself. Oh wait she can’t because she doesn’t even have permission to use the term shade by legality. Oop- and we all know he wouldn’t sue his own daughter. But I digress.

YES. I absolutely agree. Eminem has had an incredible career and if he wanted to stop, he should. By all means. If he wants to bless us with more music, I'm here for it too, obviously. But I feel like maybe there should be a proper way to do it. Like, if you want to stop, maybe announce it and quit keeping people on their toes ?

Also I LOVE the examples you have chosen, when it comes to artists expanding and doing something else successfully. Also... Shady Records COULD use some more energy. I think I saw something from Paul saying it was never meant to be a big thing anyway, but... If you're signing people, maybe put some actual energy into their projects ? Because you're not doing them a favor by pretending the musical industry works the same as the 90s and disregarding digital promotion. Just sayin...

Em in GTA6 would have been perfect. And I'm digressing but I think not having him do voice actor work on some occasions (like some animated series or a video game) is a MISSED opportunity. Because very few people modulate their voice the way he does his.

Dropped Spring Seasonal Anime

Gods Games We Play

I got 5 episodes through this, and it just feels…repetitive like there's no point in the God's Games because ultimately the teams' goal is to win so, Leche, a former god can wish to be a god again. The world also talks about "triumphs at defeating God's at their games", calling them wins for humanity, but what are the God's actually doing that negatively affect the world? All the apostles who play the games don't have any physical/life-threatening consequences because the games are digitized. There's not any stakes worth watching for this show, no matter how interesting it is to see the games be puzzled out by Faye. The fanservice is also not needed and when it happens, is just untastefully done and overexaggerated.

A Condition Called Love

It's a tad unfair to drop this show, considering I enjoyed reading it BUT I don't deem it likeable enough to watch. I understand that this is the studios first animated series so it's unfair to hold them at a higher standard compared to other studios, but their background work is questionable. The payout for Hanonoi's character growth takes so long to get there that I don't find it worth it. I will be keeping up with the manga because that is just my preference.

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included

I was extremely bored watching the first episode and just worried it would get weird, so I dropped it. It seems like a wholesome show but I'm also not interested in a highschooler harem anime.

Viral Hit

I know this is based off a webtoon, but I just was so repulsed by it? It made me so uncomfortable to watch. I'm sure a lot of people can enjoy this show but it's just not for me.

A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics

People enjoy the main duo in the series, but after 4 episodes I still wasn't invested in it. Character design wise, having all the female character that interact with the detective be young girls or look young was off putting.

Highspeed Etolie

Stopped watching within the first 5 minutes because…..3D fully animated and just vomits enough said. The girls TRANSFORM into cars. The animation for the racing scenes feel ripped from Inital D with EVEN WORSE GRAPHICS. There is always a few each season that are terribly 3D animated that feel lifeless.

Dragon Raja: The Blazing Dawn

Originally, I was super excited for this anime, and I'm someone who enjoys chinese animation. There's a whole reincarnation and past life hinted at in the MC dream and the first episode leaves you wanting more and just made me intrigued of the glimpse of this technological world he was heading into by going to this exclusive college. But then…. the concept and plot being that humanity has been at war with dragons for eons? With the college being dedicated towards training and killing dragons. The mc is dragged into this because of his parents, who left a message with the principal, but is blessed with OP abilities. There were just too many things crammed into an idea for this show, which made me drop it. The animation is stunning for the fight scenes and the 3D background models are tolerable.

Feel free to agree or disagree. I still need to watch seasonal stuff on Hidive and Hulu but this season feels pretty…average though Dungeon Meshi is COOKIN', though I think we're in for a second season considering the manga material we have left and Itzuzomi being barely introduced.

Reviews: Homophobic Cop Marries Gay Ghost, President’s Son Gets Together with Prince

Recently watched 2 movies with gay main characters in different genres. One was Red, White & Royal Blue (available on Amazon), one was 🌟 Marry My Dead Body 关于我和鬼变成家人的那件事 (available on Netflix). Spoiler-free thoughts below 😊:

❤️🤍💙 Red, White & Royal Blue is an American romcom. It has a 10/10 trailer—incredibly inviting. The movie depicts many women in power, I love that! Many witty jokes, nice! The movie might be better if it were a drama series instead; to save time, it zoomed through the falling-in-love part with the use of text messages—the production team packaged that as well as they could, but it was still too rushed. The ending left me wondering if there could’ve been a tiny bit more to make it feel more complete. Though the movie doesn’t score as highly as its trailer in my opinion, it’s still a decent movie.

(That reminds me of how That Musical Montage in episode 1 of the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua made me super keen to watch the rest of the series, but it turns out that that was the best part. Quality-wise, Red, White & Royal Blue is overall better than the TGCF donghua though.)

👻👮‍♂️💓 Marry My Dead Body is a Taiwanese mystery + comedy + supernatural movie. Let me copy the blurb from Google: “Wu Ming-Han, a straight policeman who is homophobic and ghost-phobic, accidentally picks up a red wedding envelope while collecting evidence. He finds himself betrothed to the envelope's owner Mao Pang-Yu, a gay man who died under mysterious circumstances. The duo must work through their differences and join forces to solve the case, seeking justice for Mao.” (Real-life context: marriages between dead people and live ones are/were an actual thing in Chinese culture.)

I’ve just finished watching this movie, love it! Let me get the “con” out of the way first: I wish the movie ended differently! The ending was not unsatisfying, it’s just that I personally could have been more satisfied.

Okay, now I am free to gush.

This movie is HILARIOUS. Won’t describe the humour here, you can see it in the trailers on YouTube.

I love the unravelling of the mysteries (police cases). The feelings would not have hit half as hard without them and the exploration of Maomao’s non-romantic relationships (formed during his life) after his death. Even though I highly value a good plot apart from the romance when I read/watch something, I like talking about feelings more, so that’s what I’ll do.

I have Intense Feelings about these guys. They went from being Not Keen about getting stuck with each other to being really cute together—I notice that the movie managed to do this EVEN WITHOUT having them hold hands or do anything physical beyond that. That is crazy. Romantic physical contact is great, but if you can show chemistry without it, and with minimal flirting—that is exceptional.

(Side note: I think it would be harder to convincingly depict a heterosexual pair arriving at romantic feelings the way Wu Ming-Han and Maomao did: (partly) through constant banter and trading barbs. A man looking down on a woman would have come across as a lot meaner because the threat that poses is larger in the patriarchal society we live in.)

Wu Minghan went from casually homophobic to being on track for bisexuality for a ghost, such character development. The scene where Wu Minghan genuinely calls Maomao “my husband” for the first time is AMAZING, unexpected. At that moment I was like, oh my god, he loves him. Or at the very least, he has good potential. It had taken a series of hilarious strong-arming, including a close call with the loss of Wu Minghan’s family jewels, to make this dude marry Maomao, but now he’s calling Maomao husband—in that particular state, at that timing. I cried. I was smiling at many points throughout the movie, I also cried at some points. I said something similar when I wrote my review for Merman’s Fall: a book/movie that makes me laugh and cry will go at the top of my favourites list. Unlike my danmei list, my favourite movies list is too short for me to put Marry My Dead Body at the top or bottom, but it’s definitely in there.

Mavournee Hazel’s NCIS Sydney character Blue Bird (AKA Blue) may be a forensic pathologist like NCIS icon Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette); however, that’s where the similarities end.

Speaking to Mediaweek before the November 10 premiere of the Paramount+ series, Hazel admitted that she hoped “fans remove themselves from that comparison”.

“I think comparison is the thief of joy,” she said before adding that she was “aware” that this may happen.

“I never thought I’d be in a position where I would be playing a role like Blue that is compared to someone like Abby’s iconic cultural resetting character,” she said. “Obviously there are similarities in what we do, but straight from the get-go, our team behind the scenes were so considered and thoughtful in how they wanted Blue to be different, and that she wasn’t going to be Abby and that she is her own person.”

In the classic NCIS style that die-hard fans know and love, Blue’s character will evolve as we learn more about her and her backstory.

“Hopefully people love her as much as Abby,” she said.

For the 27-year-old, Blue Bird, as a character, is a blessing.

“She was part of an upcoming forensic Outreach Programme with the AFP, the Australian Federal Police, and she’s brought into the team by chance because their usual go-to forensic scientist can’t quite make it. So, Blue gets the opportunity to show the team what she can do,” she said.

��She’s such a genuine, authentic character, and she’s so intelligent to a degree that I don’t think we fully even touched on in this season.”

While Hazel is a key member of the core cast, the actor she spends the most time with is William McInnes who plays AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose. Given his tenure in the Australian TV and Film landscape, it was a joy to work with him and they even got to visit the working Australian Federal Police labs.

“That was amazing,” she exclaimed. “We got to go into the labs and see what they do there to protect the borders. It was fascinating seeing them analysing certain materials because Blue gets to do as well. I learned a lot from seeing them.

She added: “I was also so surprised by how many young women were actually in these labs and go into the forensic world that is a little bit more male-dominated.”

Mediaweek was fortunate to visit the set of NCIS Sydney during filming, with one warehouse that housed three different sets on a Sydney wharf.

Blue’s lab in particular was a stand-out, with some of the most intricate details with a nod to the character’s quirky personality and style.

For Hazel, it was just as thrilling.

“I think I cried when I saw it for the first time, because, it was also my first day on set and to have a whole set dedicated to my character. She’s such an apologetic person who doesn’t want to take up any space and to have permission to be like, this is your nest, it was amazing.”

sooo random but rewatching suno chanda (season one ofc) and i absolutely cannot get over how good it was.... probably one of the best comedies and especially ramadan dramas we've ever had. and i know people like to complain about the second season but personally its so very easy for me to forget it exists especially one the first season itself is so good lol

all this to say, i was wondering why comedy dramas haven't hit like that or aunn zara or even the baraat series from my childhood (at least for me) since then and i can think its because people saw shows like that and took their tropes (loud families, so-called enemies to lovers etc etc) but not the actual substantial things like chemistry, tension and an actual discerning plotline for the main couple, well written and ACTED side characters (god bless nadia afghan lol) and a conceivable plot at the heart of the show no matter how outlandish the actual situations in the show become. would love to hear your thoughts on this though

I had a very different reply to this originally but then I erased it all after giving that a second thought. it's not like comedy is a rare genre in PakDramas or that good comedies aren't written anymore. I bet all the "comedy" dramas regardless of how they are reviewed will get chuckles out of the viewers when they sit to watch it. so it's not fair to call them "fail" comedies. even something like Kaala Doriya (for which my disapproval is so embarrassingly on record asjdhe) had its moments of joy (well my Ammi really enjoyed the show's humor) and the show did have its heart in the right place wrt its story. plot acha tha..character moments bhi the. as far as ratings go the show got the channel good ratings so it wasn't an utter failure. but on social media it didn't work. nor did any of this year's Ramazan dramas (FT worked not for the humor but for the couple) leave any impact on the audience's mind despite ticking all the right boxes.

nostalgia aside..my conclusion is that some of the older comedies that we give as examples and what made them work is this - the correct actor-to-character tuning and actors-to-actors chemistry. it's these things that make a comedy show memorable. Baraat series had Bushra Ansari's iconic Saima Chaudhry and yes by far and large she was the USP of the show but apart from her the rest of the ensemble worked as well. be it the younger actors as the characters whose "baraats" made the plot of the older generation as adults with their own lives that didn't entirely revolve around just commenting on the more "central" characters. they all came together as a team.

with Aunn Zara..it gave the audience a different kind of protagonist in the shape of Aunn who was not a hero by any means. his struggle and exasperation of being first a suffocatingly spoiled only son and then neglected husband led to a very different kind of humor. and again..the actor-to-character chemistry worked magic. Obi made Aunn so iconic. his chemistry not just with Maya but the rest of the cast made the entire family so easy to immediately be hooked to them. the writing and direction were strong, undoubtedly. but the actors elevated all of that to new heights. Akbari Asgari was also from the same writer-director duo and that show also had the right actors playing the right characters in the right ensemble. Suno Chanda (s2 really doesn't exist so for the record when I say SC I really only mean the first and only season) mixed the right romantic pairing with the right ensemble. Nadia Afghan and Farhan Saeed played each other off SO well as Amma and Sallu Puttar that anyone with one functioning brain cell will agree to theirs being one heck of an iconic duo of PakTV.

It's this "right" match that is lacking in shows nowadays. Hum Tum was miscasted from A-Z as NONE of the actors were convincing in their roles. idk what chemistry the fans found between Ahad and Ramsha but their Adam and Neha respectively were PAINFUL to watch because of how obviously rehearsed it all was. there was NO natural flare in their performances at all. Chand Tara had a big ensemble cast but none of them made any mark in individually as characters or as part of a duo or trio. Ishq Jalebi is not my favorite but while watching it I did enjoy the banter between Basim and Ashiq Hussain or Ashiq Hussain and Sajjo. it's cuz the actors respectively fit the characters and they made the chemistry work. you NEED that kind of right chemistry to make any comedy work long term. Bulbulay chala na sadiyon tak? despite the repeated stale jokes..the actors made the characters work and their chemistry just solidly settled in.

tropes aren't bad. tropes exist for a reason because they are familiar and safe and they work. but the importance of the right way of executing the tropes cannot be stressed enough. sab pe sab nahin chal sakta. it's the makers responsibility to make efforts to match the trope with the actor who is meant to play them. take any example of a comedy show either short format or long running..yaad reh jane wali cheez wohi hogi jis mein ek dum sahi wali tuning or chemistry hogi.

Ray also helped take care of him in chapter 89. On the one hand, Pepe is completely out of it so it's basically one-sided. On the other hand, that's a good brief conversation starter: Pepe thanking Ray at some point for what he did (maybe during the three weeks it takes the larger group to make it to the bunker, them sitting together by a fire at some point and just appreciating each other's company and the thought of having more allies and a safe space to call home), eventually leading to them bonding one day in the bunker kitchen because you know they collaborated at some point. (The "Team Chef" was in reference to Pepe earlier but together they're the team chefs :'') with Anna, Jemima, Mark, and Gillian helping ofc.)

Anime Update V2 53

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - Wasn’t much feeling this one. The focus being on Mari isn’t quite as interesting as when it’s on Mirai, I guess.

Hunter x Hunter - Kite revealed he’s got a whole research team working with him as they, Gon and Killua along with them, start looking into the recent strange activities by the Chimera Ants. And oh boy do we learn more about them! This dumb kid named Kurt and his little sister get abducted, killed, and eaten by the ants and it’s through this that the Queen has developed a taste for humans. Spawning not just new ants but beast men who take on the features of whatever she consumed to spawn them, including Kurt now reborn as the winged “Colt”, the Queen is demanding more humans to feast upon!

Fruits Basket - The famed episode with the school play, titled “It’s Cinderella-ish!” (the episode AND the play itself) was both every bit as gloriously off-the-walls and entertaining as promised and also a bit of a letdown since the play lasts for only half the episode when I’d have rather it carried on for most of it, I was enjoying it so much. Not to say the content we got after the play was bad, but it inevitably fades from memory in comparison to what we saw in the first half.

Re:ZERO - Another set of three episodes, these ones covering the big chase and fight against the gluttonous White Whale that Subaru initiates by finally putting all the knowledge he gained from previous loops of trial and error to the best use, sucessfully negotiating with both the Crusch and Anastasia camps and uniting their forces to valiantly hunt the whale even at risk of all its horrors. In particular, Wilhelm van Astrea plays the Captain Ahab role when it’s revealed he lost his wife, the realm’s previous Swordsmaster, to the whale and has long yearned for vengeance and closure. This backstory sort of comes out of left field and it is impressive how much I gave a damn about Wilhelm here, it’s so well done in selling to you that all of these people have their own lives and own stories regardless of what Subaru does or does not know about them. Seeing Subaru actually figthing smarter and braving the odds against his own weakness, and that being a source of inspiration for others, was so satisfying. He’s actually growing up and doing better now! And how in the end he earned the respect of Crush and Wilhelm really warmed my heart.

Speaking of heartwarming - Rem! Yeah, last time I’d said I was not keen on how Rem’s feelings of love for Subaru got set up despite the payoff being specatacular, if semi-lacking. But now that said payoff has come and gone, Rem and Subaru get to settle into the sort of relationship they’ll be having from here on out, and it could not be more delightful. I love not only how selfless Rem’s love is but how comfortable she is with loving, protecting, fighting alongside, and simping for a guy she knows full well isn’t going to return her exact feelings and satisfy her romantically. It sets such a good precedent for Subaru himself to follow whenever he gets back with Emilia, and makes Rem very reliable as a sidekick. Subaru is truly blessed!

Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works - At the part where at school after hours, Rin finally makes her move to try and kill Shirou herself only for them to end up helping each other in an encounter with Rider outside, forcing another armistace between the two.

Symphogear GX - Just as I’d predicted, Maria wants to fight alongside Tsubasa and the others, and she’s taking this as an out for her forced continous idol career. Also learned more about how Carol does alchemy, how her doll underlings and the Alcanoise are made from it, and why her clone homuculus Elfnein defected from her - Carol seeks to complete some sort of super weapon to destroy the world! Hibiki is starting to get on my nerves in this series with her sudden “I don’t want to use these cool powers and arsenal to fight anyone anymore!” pacifism, but at least the episode gave me ever more Kirika and Shirabe goodness to offset this. Anything else? ...Oh. Oh yeah. The beef stroganoff song. What. even. WAS THAT?

Eureka Seven - Cracks are already beginning to show in Renton’s new life with Gekko State. He’s made to do chores he’s not used to doing, no one takes him that seriously, Holland ignores him, Talho is a busybody towards him, and he’s not even informed when he has to carry a box with a smuggled human organ! To be fair, he brings much of it on himself at this point in time and having absurd notions like that the little kids Eureka looks after might be her actual biological children does him no favors. Matthieu proves to be a really nice guy and I’m glad to have him, though Kirk Thornton voicing a black guy is something unthinkable in this day and age, so it’s a nice sort of time capsule effect. On the sidelines, the united federation council decide they’ll grant Dewey Novak freedom from prison and get him back in a position of leadership within the military. Real solid idea there, guys!

Gintama - Something about Shinpachi’s estranged childhood friend showing up as a member of a bike gang only he’s still just as bullied as he used to be, Odd Jobs fighting with the bike gang, and a big wacky race against the gang leader where it all came down to him VS Shinpachi, and Otae was also there being funny and awesome as always. Another silly episode but one that works surprisingly well as character development for Shinpachi too. Gintama can do both!

Scenario: You and him have been dating for a while now. Why does the team not know and what’s their reaction in finding out/when he introduces you?

Warnings: AU if that’s not your thing then don’t read, not proofread...as usual.

#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)

You’ve been dating for nearly 5 months at this point. Beforehand the two of you were close friends. So the team kind of already knew you guys were close, but you’d never met the team properly.

It’s not that he was HIDING your relationship, its that he didn’t want to pressure you into meeting his team. They could really be an overwhelming bunch of high schoolers sometimes.

As it happens he walks to the gym hand in hand with you one day, his other hand on his duffel sports bag, thinking that he’d be the earliest one there as always. 

But when he slides the gym doors open his WHOLE TEAM greets him “CAPTAIN!” and then there’s an awkward silence that descends as they all catch him with his hand intertwined with yours.

KAEYA AND TARTAGLIA LOSES IT. “C-Captain, you had a girlfriend and didn’t tell us?!” “You finally made a move on her?!” “S’about time!”

Needless to say they both get knocked on the head by Zhongli’s fist. 

Zhongli sighs and turns to you apologetically but you say that you don’t mind meeting them. He perks up and claps his hands to ask his team to line up.

They do so diligently. Kaeya, Tartaglia and Thoma are giddy while looking at you. Xiao and Kazuha have their mouth slightly agape as if you’re some kind of rare species. Diluc and Albedo stare you down. 

You introduce yourself as Zhongli’s gilrfriend and as you do so Tartaglia’s eyes dart towards Zhongli who has a slightly shy expression on his face. 

“Oh, oh question time!” Thoma raises his hand “Does the captain secretly eat sweets behind our back?” You haven’t even answered when Kaeya asks “Does the captain ever glare at you (he mimics Zhongli’s face) and say 10 Push ups NOW!” Surprisingly Diluc raises his hand too “...Is the captain strict with you too?”

Zhongli gets irked the more questions are asked and he finally steps in with an ominous presence. “10 laps around the gym...NOW!” 

He apologizes to you again but you reassure him it’s totally fine and they all seem like such fun. 

#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)

The vice captain is a very secretive guy.

Not even his brother knew.

It’s not that he was ashamed of you, he just liked his privacy and you already knew that. 

But there was this one time where he forgot his textbooks under his desk and you had to go and give it to him while he was at practice.

Shyly looking into the door the first one that spots you is Albedo.

“...Do you need something?” you tense up at Albedo’s question and shakily hand him the textbooks.

“U-Uhm... D-Diluc’s...”

Everyone stops what they’re doing and snaps there head towards you.

Diluc jogs over, sweat still fresh on his forehead. Without thinking he takes the books from you, small smile on his face and thanks you.

The rest of his team freezes up all thinking: “Hold on, is he...SMILING?”

You’re oblivious to them staring and give him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. When Diluc turns back his team is glaring daggers at him, he stares back at them. Doesn’t say anything, and continues practice.

No one is brave enough to ask him about it.

Tartaglia whispers to Kaeya “You didn’t know about it either huh?”

#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)

This MF would talk about you whenever he had the chance.

Y/N this, Y/N that, Y/N is so cute. 

Frankly the team is kinda tired of it. 

But when you finally visit one of their practices the team levels their gaze at you and think “Oh shit, he wasn’t lying, she is actually cute,”

Sees his teammates expression and brags even more. “I know what y’all are thinking. You’re thinking, OH! She’s actually really cute! Hm?”

Slings an arm around you shamelessly with a grin. “Back off boys, I’ll block all your attempts,”

Diluc is the one that walks up to you and you blink at him. Kaeya blinks at him, confused as well.

Diluc suddenly bows, “I feel sorry for you but please take care of him,”

The rest of the team either bursts out laughing or snickers behind their hand.

Their vice captain is low key savage

#4 Albedo (Setter)

The team finds out about you cause when they finish practice they find you waiting outside the gym.

Kazuha asks politely while the others look on “Are you lost?”

You straighten up and stutter a little, “Ah, uh, no, I’m...” You’re at a loss for words. 

Then Albedo suddenly appears from the gym doors and sees you. “Ah, were you waiting long? Sorry,”

Thoma tilts his head in question. “Albedo...Your sister?”

Albedo at this point was standing next to you already. “...No, my girlfriend,” like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Everyone is stunned into statues.

“H-How did you get one before me?” Tartaglia looks as if his soul had been sucked out of his body.

“Next time you can just come inside and wait inside the gym, it’s dark out here,” their responsible captain suggests and you’re amazed at his kindness and bow at him with a thank you.

Albedo doesn’t see what’s the big deal and just grabs your hand and starts walking away.

#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)

The team already knew since the first date. It’s because he.would.not.shut.up.about.it

That particular day at practice his spikes were a tad bit stronger than usual.

“Oi... you’re getting too excited...” Xiao mumbles at him. Tartaglia just grins and scratches the back of his head. “Aaaahhhh... I can’t help it, I’m so nervous for my date with Y/N!”

A few more dates later he starts showing off his phone wallpaper to the others. It’s a picture of you and him.

Kaeya tries to piss him off by saying, “Huh, we’ve never actually seen her in person. Maybe it’s photoshopped,” The others snicker.

Is so pissed, asks you to come immediately.

You thought it was an emergency so you come into the gym with a worried look on your face only to be hugged tight into his chest. “See? See? She’s totally real and totally cute!”

Albedo crosses his arms and blinks, then looks at Kaeya “...You totally baited him, he’s such a simpleton.”

Kaeya responds with a smirk “Right?”

#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)

The most formal out of all of them and even tells them seriously that he had an announcement to make.

Next day he comes into practice with you in tow.

Properly introduces you as his girlfriend. 

Everyone is wide-eyed at how official it feels. Then you suddenly take out a big container of fruits and tell everyone it’s for them (The captain doesn’t allow sweets, he thinks it’ll fatten them up or some crap.)

EVERYONE IS BLESSED BY YOUR PRESENCE and Kazuha is just enjoying you getting along with them.

Kaeya and Tartaglia try to whisper and bribe you into making cookies for them. 

Albedo and Xiao stares at Kazuha thinking ‘If someone like you can get a girlfriend, we can get one too, right?’

You offer to come back next time with more fruits and some secret cookies.

#7 Xiao (Libero)

Tried to keep it a secret because he knows his team will make a fuss about it.

The team finds out when his phone suddenly starts ringing in the middle of practice and he asks for a timeout to pick it up.

“Mm... Yeah... I’ll pick you up when I finish,” Everyone starts nudging each other when they hear him talk to you in an unusually calm and soft tone. So different from when he plays volleyball and gets angry at them.

By this point everyone tries to keep quiet and enlarge their ears to eavesdrop.

“Idiot... I won’t be late. I promised to take you out didn’t I?” 

Hearing their tsundere libero say something so sweet makes everyone combust.

When he turns back everyone is staring at him with smirks on their faces. “Hey, why not just ask her to come here?” Kaeya sneakily suggests.

Xiao blushes “A-As if I’d let her near you bumbling fools!”

He was worried it would scare you away, actually.

#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)

Literally no one is surprised he has a girlfriend.

It would be MORE of a surprise if he DIDN’T have one.

But they find out cause he left his phone out on the bench one day and there’d been a text message while Xiao was conveniently sitting on the bench.

“...Tohma, someone me--” Xiao looks at the screen where the message ‘I love you!’ is clearly written.

Xiao is so curious but is not gunna admit it so he nudges Kaeya or Tartaglia who might be sitting next to him and secretly motions over to the phone.

They read it and ask in a real loud voice “Oi Tohma! Who’s Y/N? They said I love you!” 

Tohma laughs nervously and since it’s already out he might as well introduce you. 

“This is my princess,” he says when you enter the gym to walk home with him that afternoon. You bow and introduce yourself and everyone looks at you thinking... “Ah, they look like the perfect domestic couple,”

Low-key everyone is jealous of how you dote on him.

okay so actually you ended being the manager because the girls volleyball team had already closed the application time

so you you were really looking forward to it and omg you were so sad about it

after being rejected, you were just peacefully going through the gym and you heard laughter from a bunch of guys

you recognized kosaku since he was in your class and waved at him.

and so, they were talking about getting a manager since this team is pretty much a lot to handle

and so since kosaku knew you were hard working and that the first idea that popped out oh his head was that if you wanted to try out.

kita respectfully introduced himself and asked if you were willingly try out 🥺🥺🥺 like what a man 🥺🥺

and mostly because the twins having fangirls always made this process kind of difficult, so instead kita and aran wanted to make sure it was someone who at least was trusted by one of them

and not to brag but bestie you are gorgeous

so it was a win win

atsumu refused to this because as the jerk he usually is, he said that he didn’t need any help

that son of a bitch

he was being soooo petty mainly after you said “oh don’t worry kita, idiots are not my type”

and so, looking at the other court where the girl vbc was training you said that it was something.

every! single! practice! is! chaotic!

but somehow you managed them so well

atsumu is still trying to prove that he doesn’t but oh boy he is the first one to requiere your help

you better believe this guys are your simps and are constantly competing over someone who a year ago could never imagine they had

your attention? the best way to prove each other they were superior

and tbh, they were so grateful for you, you did a lot for them that they started to feel some kind of embarrassing how before they wouldn’t know how to do basic stuff like cooking for camps, labeling they jerseys correctly, searching for new equipment like they love you

anyways that however was kinda sus to them

it all started when somehow you learned so quickly, and the technical stuff was not hard to understand as to others

surprisingly the first one to notice was suna

you could have said something but tbh

you still look forward to play volleyball like more seriously even as a hobby

BUT

you’d rather be dead than telling your team that’s what you wanted because

a) they could think you only joined to learn volleyball and not help them

b) you had your pride, you want to be recognized by your own merits rather than “of course, they are inarizaki’s manager if they weren’t they could have never been this good”

so you still played volleyball but hid from them

there was a gym nearby where constant tournaments were held

you were a ghost because knowing damn well your boys could go there at any moment you decided to take some precautions

like nickname and position was everything they knew about you

your teammates loved you, so they respected your private life, and it was kind of cool

but what you were not expecting is that for some reason, omimi had followed you one day bc you forgot something after practice.

being a friday it meant for some weird reason you always rushed out

“sus” suna says everytime

so he catches you going out to the gym and maybe, he thought, you were just going to workout or see someone

BUT THIS GUYS EYEBALLS ALMOST FALL WHEN HE SEES TOY RUSH AND TAKE OFF YOUR SCHOOL UNIFORM SHIRT AND TIE TO FUCKING REVEAL A JERSEY WUTH A #3 on it

and so he tries to process it normally

and here we are him being interrogated by the team incredulous to his words.

ay first they interrogated him being overprotective by the fact that he was spending more time with you but when he tells them what he saw god dammit

they loose it when they find out.

and so, tsumu says something that everyone agrees with him for the first time

“let’s go and spy”

“i swear to god if y/n finds out...”

“shut up aran, unless you want to make it obvious and reveal our identity dumbass!”

“tsumu, the disguises are awful”

“come on kita not you too!”

“akagi shut up all of you agreed with the idea”

and so there they go. trying to find you in the sea of people at the entrance, not having a clear view yet, they only search for the navy blue and white uniform that omimi described to them when he saw you.

and then almost as if it was the gods plan, they started hearing whispers of people around mentioning the arrival of one of the most popular teams out there.

“come on what the big deal-” suna started saying, however your figure appeared and he instantly turned into a babbling mess.

as well as the rest of inarizaki vbc.

osamu had to double check to assure himself that it indeed was you, beautiful as ever, walking alongside your hot and apparently talented team.

minutes later, they were standing in the bleachers as quiet as they could. they spotted you.

“A SETTER” atsumu jumped of his seat and had to be scolded by aran who was also surprised by the position you were going to be playing.

“wasn’t expecting that” ginjima talks saying what everyone was currently thinking.

behind them was a couple of guys, who apparently did not know how lower their comments.

“the setter is kinda cute” “wow look at that” oml please even aran who was the voice of reason had the urge to punch them in the face.

still they decided to just focus on your game who has now been started. and even tho they wanted to not do it, they couldn’t help analyzing you and your moves in the court. it was natural, well because they were players and very good ones it’s inevitable for them to compare and to study the way you played more than anything.

they were not expecting you to be this good. almost everything in your technique was polished, your tema work was remarkable and god bless your ability to read the blockers.

but there was a moment when they just saw the panoramic view of your skills. atsumu could see your tired expression, the sweat on your body, he just knew you were feeling now the adrenaline of the last moments of the set.

still you yelled a “we will take it” and then, with the others team hope hanging on a thread, the ball came to your libero, which perfectly passed the ball to you.

there was greed in your eyes, so scary that kita for a moment feared for the other team.

and it was when you did the setter dump that your whole team stood up in pure shock.

who were you and why were you hiding?

sadly the boys screamed way too loud which lead to you, after you made the last point and give the history to your tema, lifted up your gaze and saw a bunch of idiots wearing hats and everything in between.

suna and tsumu ran the fastest in the team directly to the gate, and the with a bunch of losers behind them,

because after everything you were there arms crossed and a murderous look in your eyes.

“IM TOO YOUNG TO DIE Y/N” “osamu shut up!”

they, once you made sure to pinch each and everyone’s ears, starred bombarding questions on how did you managed to learned that and why you did ikr tell them

“come on guys, in school i’m already looked down at just because it’s you! so could you imagine me being a inarizaki student trying to move without your name?”

kita forced them to shut up and aran felt a a kind of guilt

as week as everyone else

“don’t worry y/n, we know now what it’s like to not being your own author.”

and so, they just told you how proud they were.

“maybe we are jerks but y/n we are your jerks, and over there or respect to you has just grown up”

suna the says “you’ve been there all of the time for a while now, i guess it out time to return the favor”

and so ever since then they alwaaaaays try to be at your games

like pls once the referee said one of your serves was out and from the bleachers he screaaaaaaamed, he claims that it was definitely in

kita always gives you some food after a game or practice

talking about practice

even if you are there for being a manager they always try to, at least half an hour before ending practice, they have a quick game with you playing alongside them or just including you in their repeats etc

and goooood bless once again anyone who tried to look down at you.

because after being constantly on you games ofc people started recognizing them as the inarizaki power house

if they heard someone relying your talent on them pls make sure they five them the coldest look ever

like ‘nah bro i dare you to say that one more time’

even some girls attend your games trying to flirt with them
