ds9 is an incredible show because there’ll be a devastating, thought provoking episode that’s still incredibly relevant to this day and the very next episode will ask the age old question “what if miles o’brien was hunted for sport”

“You can trust us to stick with you through thick and thin – to the bitter end. And you can trust us to keep any secret of yours – closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot trust us to let you face trouble alone, and go off without a word. We are your friends, Frodo.”

truly nobody is doing it like donna noble. she tracked down the doctor herself so she could travel with him and proceeded to get in a massive fight with him that fundamentally changed both their worldviews on their first time time-travelling together. she’s the fastest typer in chiswick. she kept the doctor so in line that within like two episodes of her being gone he decided he was god-king of the universe. she kissed him and absolutely hated it. she’s unemployed. she demanded a salute and she got one and she DESERVED IT. she has her gay best friend from like twenty years ago living in a shed in her backyard and her husband is cool with this. i love her so so so much

Look, I'm not saying that Aaron Sorkin taking another shot at primetime television would solve literally any problem we as a society face in any way, shape, or form.
But it would be really nice to see people talking in a way that no person has ever talked in the history of mankind, but in a good way.

Imagine you’re a heterosexual nepo baby british actor. Some american writers recruit you for their gay treasure island prequel fic which you think is dope so you accept. Your first time kissing a man on tv is with your best bro actor friend who’s a minor character on the gay pirate show. This pisses off the male viewership and you give unhinged interviews about it. But it gains a cult following and you continue giving unhinged interviews about it. You never get the proper critical acclaim for the best performance of your life because it was overshadowed by game of thrones and nobody subscribed to the network it was airing on. You still make unhinged tweets about it years later. You are toby stephens

1991 Dec 18 De's Star - Leonard
Leonard: I wouldn't miss this for anything. This is really great. I hope that one time during today's ceremony, we will hear him say one time, "He's dead, Jim." And Bill Shatner is right. He does lazy better than anybody I know, but in the great tradition of people like Gary Cooper. This is a man who stands there beside you and says the lines and plays the drama when it's drama and gets the laugh when it's funny and don't turn your back, cause he really knows what he's doing. He's great. He's a friend, he's a colleague, he's a rock on which much of Star Trek stands. De, may you live very, very long and prosper. Congratulations.

MASH fandom and combing the show for its tiny background details that no one in 1978 w a tiny television would have been able to appreciate the way one can with an HD remaster on a huge screen. but those details have always been there. beautiful.
