âInarizaki with a manager whoâŠâ randoms !!

warnings: reader is reserved, fem reader, swearing, platonic or romantic idgaf
IDK boutâ you guys, but every time I think about Inarizaki having a manager, I think about someone who:
Is stereotyped as your typical âquietâ and âreservedâ demeanor girlie when in actualityâshe just finds herself in a difficult position to open up to the boys. đ
- I mean, who wouldnât have a hard time, theyâre like top two in the nation and HIGHKEY intimidating to be with, I have respect 4u girl. đ«Ą but a job is a job. Kita recruited you since he had to balance his club and academics at one point (also following the coachâs suggestion).
Also should I just mention that you are such a beauty??? Like, maybe if you werenât so pretty and mysterious then they wouldnât be bothering you so much just to talk with you!! đŸ
- Suna tries to small talk with you sometimes, keyword: tries (his way of trying is giving you the most unnoticeable hints that he wants to talk with you).
- Whenever you begin to feel tired during a long day in practice, Osamu wonât just let it slip past him and hands you some of his mint candy that he has to help you stay awake as he suggests. Yall chill like thatđ€
- You and Kita are the ones who are always together, since you guys discuss about the teamâs schedule and strategies alongside coach. But thatâs just about it.
- Aran and Omimi tends to help you with your duties, especially if it requires lifting heavy weight or a lot of items to carry. We love gentlemen. đ«Ą
- Riseki is TOO shy to chat with you, but heâs trying his best I swear. đ„Č Your glamorous self just makes him feel like standing beside you feel like a huge offense.
- The closest (đ€) I would consider to be close to you is proably Akagi and Ginjima, they were the ones who approached you with a warm welcome and introduced you to the team as they showed you the ropes of being a manager.
As for Atsumu? Iâm gonna need a whole separate section for him holâ on.
- How do I even start with him.
- Because for the first time, he doesnât attract your attention, heâs chasing for it.
- Youâre supposed to praise him! fangirl over him! shower him with your undying attention! Not just awkwardly standing there and nodding every now and then! đŸ
- Canât you see how hurt his pride is. đ (his fault for expecting too much tbh đč)
- His last straw was during when he was practicing his sets and you were there to watch. So when you approached him, he was expecting the words: âwow youâre amazing Atsumu!â
- Your response?
- âMiya you should probably extend your arms further more so you have better accuracy on the ball.â
- his jaw dropped to the floor.
- YOU? THE MANAGER? giving him TIPS?
- and whatâs worst is that you were right and it genuinely improved his sets slightly better, oh heâs never forgetting about this.
But even after all that, you genuinely just could not bring yourself to be close and open up to them, your reason? a lot.
- The volleyball team of Inarizaki is undeniably well known around the campus and to be their manager is either a curse or a blessing.
- actually scrap that. Itâs a fucking curse.
- number one. the top on the damn list. their fangirls.
- the amount of them that question you about the team is just too much for your poor social battery to handle. You were their victim number one to harass about the team. (props to Aran for always saving you during times like these đââïž)
- which is also why you have a set of rules to yourself whenever you encounter one of the members in the campus: 1) walk quickly past them in the hallways, 2) only talk to them when they initiate it first, and 3) to never bring up anything about them around the campus.
- number two would be the team itself. why? very self explanatory. đ
- you do not get an ounce of peace and rest around those guys. Especially Atsumuâs endless cycle of jokes and teasing just to get a reaction out of you.
- and that one time Osamu accidentally served a ball towards you. You were on the tribunes just taking notes. WHO SERVES AT THE TRIBUNES.
- but its okay, he bought you a snack as an apology after that on the convenience store run on the way home. His motherfucker of a twin however just laughed at you like a maniac.
- also the amount of strays you have to pick up during practice is EXHAUSTING. Being their manager made your spine feel like 85 years old.
However, you are genuinely such a hardworking girlieđ„č your actions spoke louder than words, itâs just your way of showing you care for them but sometimes you just donât feel like itâs enough and you donât think they notice it either because of how reserved you could be.
- Inarizakiâs volleyball team was independent, they didnât need a manager.
- which is what they think.
- because ever since you arrived, Kita has felt a heavy weight lift off his shoulders (++ coach too). Youâve genuinely helped them in ways that you didnât deem possible
- you also took notes of the smallest things or even the quiet observations about the team on your notebook (e.g. âMake sure Atsumu doesnât forget about his waterâ or âOsamu gets grumpy if he skips mealsâ etc.)
- Although they may not be vocal about it or have mentioned about itâthe team just has so much respect for you. To be able to manage a team like them is impressive. They donât think anyone would be able to top your managing skills EVER.
So yeah, it kinda just went on like that⊠not for long. You strictly kept a classmate relationship between them and just went on being their managerâyou do your job, but you kept a distance. That is until Inarizaki gets their win against another strong team.
It wasnât anything serious or sad with what became the turning point in your relationship with the team, Iâd say its very Inarizaki like.
- It happened when Inarizaki won against a really strong team, the game was fierce and stressful to watch, but in the end they were able to snatch the gold.
- Undeniably, the boys are all hyped. âWe should celebrate! Câmon letâs go out to eat!â Akagi says as he excitedly suggested.
- the others agreed with the idea, especially a certain twin. On the way, they all discussed their orders and plans for later. In the end they all decided to go for ramen.
- You on the other hand kept silent. You decided it was best for you to go home already and let them have their fun, your social battery was draining anyways.
- which COULDâVE been the plan.
- Until Kita turns around to your direction, then offhandedly says: âYouâre coming too right?â
- your brain short circuits.
- it doesnât help with the fact now that the rest is also waiting for your answer.
- is this what they call peer pressure. đ”âđ«
- but it was in this moment that you realize thatâthey actually want you to be there. Not just as their manager, but as part of the team.
- So you agreed.
- It was a warm moment when you guys were inside the ramen bar, everyone made an effort to include you, making stupid jokes, teasing you slightly, sharing food, etc.
- And, probably for the first time ever, you were laughing with them.
- And, they all just. froze.
- Because they rarely saw you express emotions around them. Heck, not even a laugh!
- They all glanced at each other and nodded, yep, it was like they had antennas saying their common goal: to see you smile more.
In the end, Inarizaki needs a manager who can handle their shitâand love them anyway.
WOOO kinda short but hope u guys enjoyed, I just kinda wanted to share my thoughts BECAUSE every time I write about Inarizaki having a manager, I always imagine someone whoâs just keeps to herself yk, but thas js međ€·ââïž Thats why I chose Haerin for todayâs layout because the personality matches her sm lowk omg
I kinda wanna make this a series tbh, LIKE that one shiratorizawa series in Ao3 I FORGOT THE NAME but you guys know rightâŠ.. right.

Day 1: The Name Exchange The excitement for Inarizakiâs first-ever Secret Santa was contagious as Y/N stood before the volleyball team, the Santa hat in her hands rustling with small slips of paper. She couldnât help but smile at the eager looks and hushed anticipation around her as the team huddled closer, trying to catch a glimpse.
âAlright, listen up, everyone!â she called out, her voice cutting through the chatter. âEach of you has a name in here. Draw one, keep it a secret, and rememberâtwo weeks until the big reveal! Weâll meet at my place the night before Christmas for the exchange.â
A few groans of playful protest mixed with laughter. Suna nudged Aran with a smirk, teasing him about what he might end up with. Atsumu made a big show of cracking his knuckles, promising heâd find the ultimate giftââas long as I donât get Osamuâs name,â he joked, earning a light shove from his twin.
Y/N went around with the hat, watching as the players reached in, each drawing their slip with a sense of mystery and excitement. There were chuckles, a few raised eyebrows, and Atsumu muttering dramatically, âOh, the suspense!â as he held his slip close to his chest, causing the others to roll their eyes.
When Y/N drew her own name, her eyes lit up as she unfolded the paper. Aran! Sheâd always thought of him as a dependable friend, and she immediately wanted her gift to show how much she valued him. Her mind buzzed with ideas as she pictured his usual calm, steady smile, and the warmth he brought to the team. Maybe she could do something unexpected, something unique that would make him feel genuinely appreciated.
Kita, on the other hand, had approached the hat with his usual calm demeanor, but as he unfolded his slip and saw Y/Nâs name, his heart skipped a beat. He rarely showed his emotions openly, yet the weight of choosing something that would resonate with her felt both daunting and exciting. As captain, he knew her value to the team better than anyone, her quiet dedication and the way she supported each player in her own way. He found himself already thinking of what might make her smile, what could show her how appreciated she truly was.
As the last names were drawn and the team dispersed, everyone left the gym with a bit of holiday spiritâand a bit of secret anticipationâin the air.
Day 2: Observing Clues
The second day after drawing names, Y/N was back in the familiar buzz of Inarizakiâs gym. The faint echo of sneakers squeaking against polished floors and the steady thud of volleyballs filled the air as the team warmed up. It was one of those crisp winter mornings where sunlight poured through the high windows, casting long, amber streaks across the gym floor. Y/N leaned against the wall, taking notes on her clipboard, glancing up periodically to watch the boysâ drills. Her gaze, however, kept drifting to Aran.
He was in the middle of stretching with Suna, the two exchanging banter over a missed shot from the last game. Y/N caught herself smiling, noticing how Aranâs laughter seemed to resonate warmly in the cool gym air. Then, as practice wrapped up and the team headed for water, she noticed the telltale signâAran reached for his headphones, that familiar gesture he did every day. His music routine. She watched as he carefully untangled the wires, placing one earbud in as he leaned back against the wall, eyes drifting closed, nodding subtly to whatever song he had queued up today.
Seizing the moment, Y/N approached him casually, making her way across the gym while dodging stray volleyballs. She leaned against the water cooler next to him, the sound of clinking ice and the hum of the vending machine filling the space. âHey, Aran!â she called, trying to sound offhand. âGot any good songs lately?â
Aran cracked one eye open, pulling the earbud halfway out. âOh, hey, Y/N,â he said, his grin easy and relaxed. âJust my usual stuff. You know, same olâ songs on repeat. Keeps me grounded after a long practice.â He chuckled, clearly embarrassed about his routine, but Y/N could tell music was something he genuinely enjoyed.
She tilted her head thoughtfully, filing the detail away. âYou should send me some recommendations sometime,â she teased lightly. âGotta keep up with what everyoneâs listening to, you know?â
Aran laughed, scratching the back of his neck. âYeah, sure. I donât know if itâs anything special, but Iâll send a few songs your way.â
Y/N left the interaction with a grin, her mind racing with ideas. A custom playlist and a quality portable speakerâthat was it. Something personal but useful, a gift that would fit seamlessly into his life. She turned away to note her thoughts on her clipboard, nearly colliding with Kita, who was silently observing her as he collected water for himself.
He straightened up, his posture composed as always, but his gaze lingered on Y/Nâs bag. It was the same bag she always carried: large, slightly battered, with straps that had seen better days. He noticed how she constantly adjusted it during practice, the way she shifted it to one shoulder as she darted between players to pass out towels, check equipment, and manage schedules.
Kita cleared his throat softly, catching her attention. âY/N, your bag seems... well-used,â he remarked, voice calm but attentive.
She glanced down at the worn fabric, smiling fondly. âYeah, itâs seen a lot, huh? But itâs my good luck charm. I feel like I canât do my job without it,â she laughed, giving it a small pat.
Kita nodded thoughtfully, making a mental note. The bag, he realized, was more than just a tool for her; it was part of her rhythm as the teamâs manager. If he found something similarâsomething just as sturdy and functional but with a touch of styleâit might be the perfect way to show his appreciation. He allowed himself a small, determined smile, resolved to find a gift that would support Y/N as seamlessly as she supported them.
As the players returned to the court, Y/N and Kita both fell into the rhythm of practice, but both kept a quiet, secret excitement bubbling beneath the surface, each imagining how their gifts might surprise and delight their Secret Santas.
Day 6: Ideas Taking Shape
The gym was alive with the sound of sneakers squeaking against the polished court, the soft rhythm of volleyballs bouncing against the floor, and the occasional shout of encouragement from the players. Y/N stood near the bench, her clipboard tucked under her arm, keeping an eye on the practice while brainstorming her gift for Aran. The air smelled faintly of the gymâs polish and the chalky scent of the volleyball court.
She had been observing Aran more closely over the past few days, trying to get a better sense of what he might appreciate. As he hit a spike across the court, a slight grin pulling at the corners of his mouth, Y/N recalled a conversation from a week ago. Aran had been talking about his love for live concerts, especially the raw energy of the crowd and the unpredictability of those moments. Heâd mentioned his favorite concerts, how he'd often play the recordings in his room, the sounds filling the space as if he were there, surrounded by that energy.
Her eyes sparkled with an idea, and she stepped aside, making a mental note. She could create a custom playlist for him, one with live versions of his favorite songs, capturing the essence of that experience. But she didnât want to stop there. Y/N knew Aran well enough to understand that he appreciated quality, something that would reflect the effort she put into the gift. A high-quality portable speaker would be the perfect match for the playlist. She imagined him listening to the tracks, the sounds of the crowd flooding through the speaker as he relaxed after practice. It would be a gift that mixed both personal and practical, with a touch of thoughtfulness.
While Y/N was lost in her thoughts, the other players continued their practice, moving in and out of drills. She overheard a conversation between Sakusa and Atsumu, both arguing about which music genre was better for post-practice relaxation. Y/N chuckled to herself, but her mind remained focused on Aranâs gift. The idea was starting to take shape, and she couldnât help but feel a sense of satisfaction.
Across the gym, Kita was also absorbed in his own thoughts, though his gaze was fixed on Y/N. He watched her as she worked, effortlessly moving from player to player, offering gentle encouragement and the occasional correction. Her usual energy was contagious, but today, Kita noticed something elseâher bag. It was slung over her shoulder, worn from years of use, its edges fraying just slightly. As Y/N moved through the gym, her movements fluid but with a slight struggle as she tried to reach for something inside her bag, Kita saw the small zipper snag.
It wasnât just that the bag had seen better daysâit was a symbol of how hard she worked to balance everything, always carrying the weight of her responsibilities. Kitaâs thoughts immediately went to the idea he had been toying with since day one: getting her a new, high-quality bag. He wanted something that would be functional and reflect her commitment to the team, but also stylish enough to suit her personality. It had to be practical, yet show that he saw the effort she put in.
The following evening, after practice, Kita found himself wandering through a nearby shopping district. The streets were decorated with twinkling lights, adding to the holiday spirit that seemed to be everywhere. He passed by a small boutique that caught his eye. It was quaint, tucked between a couple of cafes, its windows filled with elegant bags. As he stepped inside, the warm air wrapped around him, and the scent of fresh coffee from a nearby café wafted through the door. The store was quiet, peaceful, and had a soft glow from the lights hanging overhead.
Kita moved through the aisles slowly, inspecting the bags with a focused eye. There was a part of him that wanted to find the perfect one immediately, but he knew it was worth taking his time. The bags ranged from minimalist designs to bold, functional ones. He picked one up, tested the weight, and inspected the stitching. He finally settled on a sleek, sturdy leather bag with multiple compartmentsâlarge enough to fit all of her essentials, yet compact and stylish. It was just right. The leather was soft, and the color would suit her perfectlyâelegant, yet not too flashy. He couldnât help but smile as he imagined how she might react when she saw it.
On his way out, Kita passed by a small coffee shop, the warmth from inside making him pause. He decided to grab a coffee, sitting by the window, watching the busy streets outside as he reflected on his decision. The holidays always brought out a bit of sentimentality in him, but this time, his thoughts were full of Y/N. He wanted this gift to be meaningfulânot just a token, but something that would show how much he admired her.
Back at the gym, Y/N had already started discussing plans for the big exchange the night before Christmas. The players were still buzzing with excitement about the gifts they would give and receive. The gym, usually echoing with the sound of volleyballs and sneakers, was now filled with talk of Christmas cheer and gift ideas. Y/N had started to decorate the space with a few simple holiday touchesâgreenery by the door, a small tree with lights twinkling in the corner, and a basket of wrapped chocolates by the bench. Even in the hustle and bustle of practice, the holiday spirit was palpable, and everyone was feeling the magic of the season.
As the players continued their drills, the anticipation for the gift exchange built with every passing day. Y/N couldnât wait to see everyoneâs reactions, but there was something special about the idea of giving gifts that reflected how much she appreciated them. The warmth of the gym and the holiday spirit only made her more excited to bring everyone together for the big reveal.
And so, with the days slipping away, the team continued their practice, the sounds of volleyballs bouncing, sneakers skidding, and laughter filling the air. Christmas was coming, and with it, the promise of new memories, laughter, and unforgettable gifts that would bring the Inarizaki team even closer together.
Day 6: Gifts in the Making
After the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Y/N found Suna RintarĆ in his usual spot by his locker, unhurriedly gathering his things. Students were buzzing around them, but Suna remained as calm and composed as ever, barely glancing at the crowds. She approached him with a purpose, though aware that she might have to make a convincing case to get him to come along.
âHey, Suna,â she greeted, offering a small smile as she sidled up to his locker. âYou busy after this?â
He looked up, meeting her gaze with a hint of curiosity but his expression otherwise unreadable. âNot really,â he replied, zipping up his bag. âWhy?â
She took a quick breath before diving in. âI need some help with Secret Santa shopping⊠specifically for Aran. You have an eye for good stuff, so I thought youâd be the perfect person to bring along.â
Sunaâs brows lifted ever so slightly at her suggestion, and he gave a small nod. âFine. But donât expect much commentary,â he said, swinging his bag over his shoulder.
âPerfect! Thatâs all I need,â she grinned, motioning for him to follow her out.
As they walked through the bustling city streets, they exchanged small bits of conversationâmainly Y/N talking about how she wanted her gift for Aran to be thoughtful and practical. Suna listened quietly, chiming in every now and then with a hum or a short response, more interested in taking in the scene around them than actively engaging in chatter. When they finally arrived at the mall, the holiday decorations were in full force: wreaths, lights, and a massive Christmas tree in the center of the atrium that seemed to reach up to the ceiling.
Y/N marveled at the decorations, nudging Suna with her elbow. âYou gotta admit, itâs festive,â she said, smirking as she looked at his typically neutral expression.
He shrugged, giving the slightest of smirks. âItâs a bit much. But I guess it works,â he replied, following her as she led the way toward the tech stores.
They wandered into the first store, where rows of sleek gadgets and electronics lined the shelves. Y/N browsed the portable speakers, occasionally glancing at Suna, who was studying the products with a calm and discerning eye. After a few minutes, he picked up a speaker with a simple yet sturdy design, turning it over in his hands.
âThis oneâs pretty solid,â he commented, passing it to her. âGood sound quality, decent battery life, and compact enough that he could carry it around easily.â
Y/N held the speaker, feeling its weight and inspecting it. âDo you think heâd actually use it?â
Suna leaned back against one of the displays, his gaze level as he watched her consider the options. âIf heâs into music like you say, heâll appreciate it. And you can personalize itâload up some live recordings of his favorite concerts or something.â
She blinked, a smile spreading across her face. âThatâs actually a really good idea. I didnât think of that.â
âYeah, well,â Suna shrugged, glancing away as if downplaying his own suggestion. âThatâs why you brought me along.â
After comparing a few more options, she settled on the speaker heâd suggested, finally feeling confident in her choice. As they made their way to the checkout counter, Suna waited quietly beside her, occasionally glancing around the store. A small group of teenagers passed by, their arms full of holiday shopping bags, laughing and chatting. Suna looked on with mild interest before returning his focus to Y/N as she paid for the speaker.
As they stepped out of the store, they walked by a kiosk packed with holiday-themed wrapping paper, bows, and tags. Y/N paused, staring at the selection, her expression contemplative.
Suna noticed her hesitating and smirked. âThis partâs on you. Iâm here for the gift, not to play decorator.â
She laughed, nudging him lightly. âNoted. Iâll take it from here.â
Suna waited as she picked out a tasteful roll of wrapping paper with muted colors, steering away from the overly bright designs that didnât quite suit her style. After paying, she held up her bag, feeling accomplished.
âMission accomplished,â she said with a grin.
Suna gave her a short nod of approval as they made their way back through the bustling mall. The holiday energy buzzed around them, but there was a calm ease between the two of them as they headed out into the chilly evening, each silently content with how the day had unfolded.
Day 12: Putting It All Together
On Saturday morning, Kita headed out to town, intent on wrapping up the final details for his Secret Santa gift. He wanted to make sure the bag he chose for Y/N was perfect, and the added charm with her initials was a small but meaningful detail he hoped sheâd appreciate. He found himself moving with careful purpose, his usual calm masking his excitement to see this gift idea come to life.
After visiting a boutique to confirm the bagâs quality, he stopped by a nearby shop to search for a keychain. As he browsed, he saw someone familiar in his peripheral visionâY/N, standing in front of a colorful display. She was looking at a pair of vibrant roller skates with teal and yellow accents, her gaze fixed on them as if they held a world of memories. Smiling to himself, he walked over.
As Kita approached, he noticed Y/Nâs attention was completely absorbed by the pair of roller skates on display. A small smile formed on his face as he stepped forward, intending to strike up a casual conversation.
âDidnât know you were a skater,â he said, keeping his tone light.
She glanced over, clearly surprised but managing a smile. âYeah⊠well, I used to be, I guess,â she replied, not offering more right away. Her eyes shifted back to the skates as if the memory behind them was something only for her.
Kita took a slow breath, recognizing her hesitance. Y/N was always open and friendly with the team, but rarely did she talk much about herself. He chose his words carefully. âWere you any good at it?â
Y/Nâs smile grew a little wider as she laughed softly. âMaybe not at first. But I spent enough time on those skates that I got pretty good.â She paused, as if deciding whether to continue. âI used to skate down to the park on weekends. It was my thing.â
He nodded, giving her a moment. âSounds like you had a good routine,â he said, understanding how much routines mattered in his own life.
She seemed to relax a little, glancing over at him. âYeah, I did. I really loved it. But my old skates broke a while back, and I⊠just never got around to replacing them. Guess I figured I didnât have the time.â
Kita took that in thoughtfully. âItâs tough to make time when thereâs so much else going on. But it sounds like it mattered to you.â He didnât push further, but his steady gaze invited her to continue if she wanted to.
She hesitated, then nodded, her expression softening. âYeah. These days, though, it just seems like⊠too much to spend on something thatâs just for fun, you know? Especially when I could put that money toward something more practical.â She shrugged, clearly uncomfortable discussing it. âIâd feel selfish asking my parents for something like this.â
Kita listened carefully, piecing together her reasons without judging them. Her dedication to the team and her responsibilities was something he respected immensely, but he couldnât help but think she deserved something just for herself.
âThey look like theyâd suit you,â he said gently, looking at the skates. âYou deserve things that bring you happiness, too.â He gave her a small smile, understanding it was a sensitive topic. âAnd if you ever want to get back into skating, I bet youâd pick it up again just like that.â
Y/N chuckled, the wistfulness in her expression easing. âThanks, Kita. Maybe one day,â she replied, a hint of warmth in her voice.
The conversation lingered with him as they parted ways, and an idea started to form in his mind. Heâd originally planned to keep things simple, but seeing Y/Nâs reaction to those skates gave him a different perspective on what his gift could mean. For now, though, he kept the thought to himself, leaving her with a subtle but encouraging smile before they each went on their way.
Christmas Eve: The Gift Exchange
The morning was filled with bustling energy as Y/Nâs family worked together to turn their home into a holiday haven. It was the day before Christmas, and despite the excitement of the neighborhood Christmas party, Y/N was focused on one thing: making sure the house was perfect for the special Secret Santa event with the boys. The living room needed to be transformed into a cozy, welcoming space for everyone to gather, and there was no time to waste.
Y/Nâs mom was the first to start rearranging the furniture, moving the coffee table to one side of the room with a sense of practiced ease. "Letâs clear some space for all the gifts," she said, giving Y/N a warm smile. Her dad followed suit, slowly shifting the couch to create a better flow in the room. Y/N eagerly joined them, her excitement spilling over as she adjusted the throw pillows on the couch and added little touches of decoration. The Christmas tree stood proudly in the corner, draped with twinkling lights and vintage ornaments, but it needed a little more magic.
"We should add a few more candles to the mantle," Y/N suggested as she busied herself placing candles along the fireplace. The soft glow of the lights would create the perfect ambiance for the evening.
Her mom glanced over at her with a smile. "I love how much youâve taken on this year. It feels like a real winter wonderland."
Y/Nâs dad, who was busy hanging garlands above the windows, chimed in with a chuckle. "Your momâs right, honey. This place is starting to look like something out of a Christmas movie." He paused for a moment, looking around the room with satisfaction. "You really went all out this year. The boys will love it."
Y/N couldnât help but beam at their words, feeling a warmth in her chest. Despite all the holiday chaos, the effort was worth it. "I want tonight to be perfect. I want them to feel at home."
As her parents finished the final touches on the house, Y/N stood back and surveyed the room, feeling accomplished. The room was cozy with soft, plush blankets scattered across the couches, and the flickering lights set a serene, holiday atmosphere. A table had been cleared in the center, ready for all the gifts to be placed on it. There was a small area by the window where they would later enjoy snacks and drinks, but for now, the focus was on getting everything ready for the boys.
Her dad stepped back and gave Y/N a nod of approval. "I think itâs all ready. Letâs get those gifts out."
Y/N's mom smiled, heading to the kitchen to start preparing snacks and drinks for the evening. "Donât forget to get those cookies out! We need something sweet for them."
"Iâll grab them," Y/N offered, bounding off to the kitchen. She retrieved the freshly baked sugar cookies her mom had made earlier, carrying the tray with a sense of pride. The warm, sweet smell filled the house, adding to the festive air.
As she returned to the living room, the first of the boys began arriving, and with their entrance, the room began to feel even more alive. Aran was the first to step through the door, carrying a bag of chips and a wrapped gift. "It smells amazing in here," he said, grinning as he surveyed the space. "You really did a great job, Y/N."
"Thanks, Aran!" she replied, her voice practically bubbling over with happiness. "I wanted to make sure tonight felt special for everyone."
With Aran came the other boysâSuna, carrying a box of homemade cookies, a small smile playing on his lips; Kita, with his usual calm demeanor, bringing a neatly wrapped gift and a quiet nod of approval; and Atsumu, always the life of the party, carrying a large bag filled with snacks and a grin that could light up the room.
"Did I bring enough snacks?" Atsumu asked loudly, dropping the bag on the table with a dramatic flair. "Because I could always grab more!"
Y/N laughed, her heart swelling at the sight of her friends. "Youâre always over-prepared, Atsumu."
Her parents, who were now finished with their preparations, stepped into the living room to greet the boys. Y/Nâs dad shook hands with each of them, offering a friendly smile. "Itâs nice to see you all here," he said warmly. "Y/Nâs been looking forward to this night for weeks."
Y/Nâs mom followed with a gentle, welcoming smile. "Iâm so glad you could join us. This is such a special time for Y/N, and weâre glad to have you all here."
The boys all murmured their thanks, the warmth in the room only growing stronger. Y/Nâs heart fluttered with happinessâeverything was coming together just as she had hoped.
"Iâm so glad weâre all here," Y/N said as she bounced excitedly from one guest to the next. "This is going to be the best night!"
With everyone settling in, her parents busied themselves by gathering their coats and preparing to leave for the neighborhood Christmas party. "Weâre heading over to the neighborsâ party in a bit," Y/Nâs mom said, giving her a soft, knowing smile. "Youâre welcome to join us, of course."
Y/N shook her head, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Iâm good, Mom. I want to stay here and enjoy tonight with everyone. This is my special event."
Her dad chuckled, ruffling her hair affectionately. "Alright, but donât forget to take a few pictures for us before we go."
Y/N nodded enthusiastically. "I will! I promise!"
As her parents made their way to the door, Y/N handed them her camera. "Donât forget to take some shots of you both at the party!" she added with a grin.
After her parents left, the atmosphere in the room shifted from the calm of her familyâs presence to the lively chatter of her friends. The energy in the room felt light and happy, everyone eager to start the gift exchange.
When it was finally time to exchange gifts, the living room was buzzing with excitement. Laughter filled the air as each person carefully selected a gift to give.
Christmas lights twinkling softly against the walls as each person gave their present with care and excitement. Y/N felt a sense of joy watching everyone unwrap their giftsâeach personâs reaction was more than she had hoped for. When it was Aranâs turn, he immediately began to unwrap his gift. Y/N had been nervously waiting for his reaction, hoping he would like it as much as she had thought he would. As the paper fell away, he held up the portable speaker she had carefully picked out for him. The soft, golden light from the fireplace illuminated the device in his hands, and for a moment, everything seemed to pause.
Aranâs face lit up with an easy grin, his eyes sparkling with delight. âYou really know me, huh?â he chuckled, holding up the speaker for everyone to see. âThis is perfect, Y/N. Thank you.â
Y/N couldnât help the huge smile that spread across her face. "I'm so glad you like it!" Her heart soared at his response, a deep sense of happiness filling her chest. It felt incredible to see him genuinely pleased, especially since Aran was always so laid back and hard to surprise.
Finally, it was Y/Nâs turn to open her gift, and the room grew quieter in anticipation. She smiled nervously, feeling the weight of Kitaâs gift in her hands. Kita, ever composed, had remained calm, not giving away anything about his present. As she slowly began to unwrap it, the atmosphere shifted, the warmth of the room giving her a sense of comfort as she carefully peeled away the paper.
When the wrapping came off, her breath caught in her throat. Inside was a beautiful pair of roller skatesâbright, sleek, and exactly the pair she had been eyeing for months. Her heart pounded in her chest, the surprise overwhelming her.
Her voice barely came out as she looked at Kita, her hands shaking slightly as she held up the skates. âKita⊠you rememberedâŠ?â
Kitaâs usual calm smile was present, but there was something in his eyesâsomething softerâthat made Y/Nâs chest tighten with emotion. âYouâve mentioned it a few times,â he said simply, his voice steady but kind. âI thought you deserved them.â
Tears pricked at the corners of Y/Nâs eyes. The roller skates were a dream she thought sheâd have to give up, especially after her old ones broke so suddenly. She hadnât been able to replace them, too caught up in work and life to find the time or money. But now, here they were, right in front of her, a gift from someone who had truly listened.
âI donât know what to say,â Y/N whispered, her voice thick with emotion. âThank you⊠really.â
She could feel the warmth of the room around herâthe glow of the Christmas lights, the laughter of her friends, the love that filled the air. And in that moment, she realized that it wasnât just about the gifts. It was about the thoughtfulness behind them, the way each of them had made an effort to show how much they cared.
Kita, already back to his usual calm demeanor, stood up and gestured for everyone to gather. Y/N's eyes widened in confusion as the boysâAran, Suna, and even Atsumuâmoved toward her. Though they hadnât been planning a joint gift, the boys had secretly coordinated. Y/N hadnât realized, but they had been discussing her for days leading up to this moment, deciding as a group that they wanted to show her just how much they appreciated everything she did for them, and how much they admired her strength, kindness, and dedication.
As Aran reached into a large gift bag, he pulled out a framed photo, and Y/Nâs breath caught in her throat. It was a picture of all the boys together, their goofy grins and relaxed poses showing off the bond they had built over time. The photo was perfectly framed, the black frame elegant yet simple, and a small, personalized note attached. Y/Nâs hands shook slightly as she read the words:
âThank you for everything you do. Weâre better because of you.â
Her heart swelled, and she blinked rapidly, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to spill once more. She had never expected this. The boys, though each of them a character in their own right, had come together with such thoughtfulness and unity. The sincerity in their gesture left her speechless.
Suna stepped forward next, giving her a small but meaningful smile. "We might not always say it," he began, his usually quiet voice softening the mood, "but weâre all really grateful for you, Y/N. For everything you do. It doesn't go unnoticed."
Atsumu, always the energetic one, added, âYeah, we know youâve got a lot on your plate, but you still manage to keep everything together. Weâre better off with you around.â
Y/Nâs heart felt like it was overflowing. She had never expected such an outpouring of appreciation from them, and yet here they were, showing her just how much she meant to them. Her eyes welled up with emotion as she finally managed to speak, her voice a bit shaky.
âYou guys⊠I donât even know what to say to this,â she whispered, overwhelmed by their kindness. âThis means so much to me. You guys really⊠you really do care.â
Kita, who had remained relatively quiet, gave her a small nod. "Of course we do. Youâre family, Y/N."
The room fell into a comfortable silence, save for the soft crackling of the fire and the gentle hum of the Christmas music in the background.
With a happy sigh, Y/N finally said, âThank you, all of you. I really⊠I donât deserve this, but itâs the best gift I could ever ask for.â The boys, each in their own way, smiled back at her, their eyes full of affection.

The gym was warm, as it always was due to the constant movement happening in it.
"Samu," You drawled out slowly, dramatically fanning yourself with the clipboard in your hands. "When is Tsumu gonna be done?" You now pout after asking the question.
Osamu turns towards you with an exasperated sigh and a bored look.
"Whenever I decide." You now turn around at the stern voice with a slight jump.
"Kita! You scared me!" You pull the board up to cover your face that's sporting a guilty smile.
Kita just huffs and crosses his arms, giving you a disappointed look before turning to the dark haired twin.
"Atsumu could probably use some help, and you could use the training."
Osamu grumbles before walking past the captain with a quiet.
"Yessir."
Kita watches as he disappears out the gym doors towards the side of the building where his twin was practicing his sets. The older boy now turns towards you.
"And what are you doing y/n?"
'Nothing' you would say but you can tell he's not in the mood for one of your quips.
"Uhm..." You instead say, eyes frantically searching your surroundings for some half-asses excuse as to why you were standing around here.
Kita shakes his head and and reaches out, ruffling your hair before using his large hand on his head to spin you around towards the large gym floor where the rest of the team was running drills.
"See Sunarin?," Your eyes now fall on the taller, older boy across the gym, doing some weird exercise you had never seen. You look back at the captain and nods wearily. "Why don't you go spot him so he can lift weights?"
You look between Sun and Kita before nodding shyly and running off towards the other side of the gym.
Kita smiles smugly to himself as he watches you talk to Suna.
"Woah, Kita! You over here playing cupid or something?" Aran says, slinging an arm over his good friends shoulder, eyes following the white haired boys line of sight.
Kita shrugs, effectively pushing Aran's arm off him before starting to walk off.
"Eh, somebodies got to do it."
"Hey Sunarin!" You chirp, watching as Suna jumps, startled at the sudden voice. He pulls an earbud out and looks up at you.
"Hi."
You puff your cheeks out, hands on your hips as your brows furrow in thought.
An awkward moment of silence passes before you speak up again.
"Kita sent me over here to spot you on weights."
Suna's eyes dart over to the bench press next to him before he looks back at you.
"But I'm not lifting right now?"
You look between the empty bench and the boy who's sat on the floor. Your foot taps in slight annoyance and embarrassment.
"Well! I guess you are now!" Your hand jolts out in front of his face, fingers wiggling in signal for him to use your hand to pull himself up.
He just shakes his head and pushes himself up, grumbling under his breath in annoyance.
You just scoff and walk over to where he's now sat on the bench, prepping to lift the heavy weights. After he lays back and grabs the bar you step to stand at the end of the bench.
He quickly sits up and clears his throat.
You pop up a quizzical brow at him.
"Are you okay?"
He looks back at you, then away quickly, face beet red.
"You uhm," he clears his throat again and points towards your skirt. You look down then back up at him, still confused. "You're not in your activity clothes." He says.
"Uhm no? I never am on your guys workout days. I don't need to be..."
Suna rolls his eyes, obviously annoyed he has to keep furthering his explanation.
"You're in a skirt and im laying down right beneath where you're standing." He slowly explains, watching as you nod your head, showing you're putting the pieces together.
"Oh...Oh! Oh my god! Suna I am so sorry! This is so embarrassing!" You cover your face and look at him one more time before bolting out of the gym towards the club room to change.
Suna just sighs and starts putting his earphone back in, before he does he looks over towards his teammate.
"Hey, Gin? Mind spotting me until y/n gets back?"
You run out the doors, past people questioning you, and straight towards your best friends.
"Samu! Tsumu! Oh my god I am humiliated!" You grab their wrists and begin pulling them with you to the club room. They're both trying to figure out what's wrong and arguing about how they need to go to practice, but neither of them are trying to pull away from your grip to actually go back.
Once you shut the door you slide down it, looking up at the twins you've spent your entire life with.
"What happened?" Osamu asks, hands on his hips.
"So basically, I never change on conditioning days because I normally don't need to right?" You watch as their faces scowl in a mix of entertainment and concern, they nod weerily in agreement. "Wrong!"
They slightly jump at your suddenly loud tone. You stand back up and begin unbuttoning your collared shirt, shoving past them as they stay turned facing the door, to give you some privacy.
"Ok? So what happened?" Atsumu now is getting impatient.
"Well when Kita sent Samu out to help you, he told me to go spot Sunarin while he did weights!"
You grunt, fighting to pull the zipper down on your skirt.
"Need help?" You look up where the twins are now facing you, arms crossed as they watch you struggle. You shriek and run over to them, smacking their shoulders as you yell for them to turn around.
"Pervs!"
"Hey you dragged us in here while you got undressed, sounds like you're the perv n/n..." Osamu says.
"Ugh whatever, anyways," You now go back to taking your clothes off. "Basically im in a skirt, and when Suna laid back to lift the weight he got a straight shot up it!"
The zipper finally gives way and your skirt falls to the floor, pooling at your ankles before you kick it out of the way.
"Well, your underwear are cute, right?" Atsumu now asks, and you pause looking down to see what panties you slipped on this morning.
They're lacy and pink, little cherries are all over it.
You shrug, though they can't see you.
"Yeah, they're cute." You say before pulling your t-shirt over your head.
"Let me be the judge of that!" Atsumu now begins turning around but a notebook flies straight at his face. "Ow what the hell y/n!"
"Stop perving!" You yell back, pulling your sweats up.
You pull your sneakers back on and walk back over the the boys, smacking the backs of their heads.
"Ow!" they say simultaneously, rubbing the spot you just hit,
You open the door and motion for them to go.
"Next time, don't try and sneak peeks at me while I'm changing." You say following them out and back over to the gym.
Suna is, yet again, interrupted as he's working out, by you.
"Hi." You say, face red and hot.
"Hey." He says, face the same.
"Sorry about that." You dryly chuckle and give him a close-eyed and apologetic smile.
"It's ok. Things happen." He shrugs and lays back down, hands finding the bar. He tilts his head back to look up at you.
"Ready?" He asks.
"I gotcha Sunarin." You give him a soft smile and put your hands on your hips.
After 10 minutes Suna finally gives up, he dramatically rolls off the bench after hooking the weight. He lies flat on his back, limbs sprawling out.
"Jeez Sunarin! Youre so," you motion with your index finger towards where he's laying. "large..."
He now sits up and uses his shirt to wipe his face. You just stare.
YES LAWD!
"Is that a compliment or insult?" He finally asks, standing up and moving to grab his water bottle.
You now look up at him when he turns back around and steps towards you.
"Compliment, most definitely." You say, giggling when he smiles down at you and winks before waling away.
"Ew. Get a room." Aran says, walking up behind you.
You look at him then back over to Suna, who's now stretching with Ginjima, letting a dreamy sigh leave your lips.
"I wish..."
Aran gags and rolls his eyes.
"Disgusting." He says while walking off.
A whistle blows, signaling the end of today's practice. You watch as the boys file out of the gym to go shower and change.
The walk home was hot and your clothes were making you itchy.
"Tsumu, carry me..." You plead with the Blond.
"No way! I just finished conditioning!"
"You just hit a ball for three hours..." You grumble, crossing your arms and pouting.
"Were almost to the train anyways! You'll be fine." Atsumu argues back.
You stick your tongue out at the setter and he reciprocates.
"Will you two quit it!" Osamu now walks in between you both, pushing your guys faces to look away from each other.
His hand quickly retreats from your faces as he gives you a horrified look.
"Did you just fucking lick my hand?"
You giggle before running off towards your train station.
"Hey get back here!" Osamu yells behind you, running to try and catch up.
"Last person to the platform is a stinky loser!" You yell, effectively pulling Atsumu into this.
"Oh hell no!" He says, feet pushing off the dirt to start sprinting.
"So you and y/n?" Aran says, watching as your's and the twin's figures disappear into the distance, your faint yells and loud laughs echoing off the brick walls around your little group.
Suna looks over at his senior, shrugging.
"What about me and her?"
Aran rolls his eyes, scoffing.
"You know what."
Suna hums and thinks back onto all your guys interactions.
"No I really don't."
Aran stops walking, grabbing his juniors jacket collar, effectively stopping him. Suna turns around and gives a pointed glare at Aran.
"You two like each other, no?"
Suna's face slightly flushes. Sure you were cute, and he had saw your intimates just today, but you were like the twins little sister. Strictly forbidden. At least in his head, nobody had ever expressed any type of issues with the twins friends liking you, or being with you.
"She does not like me."
Aran just sighs, beginning to walk again. Suna follows him, lost in thought this time.
Did you really like him?
Did he like you?
Ugh this is all too confusing!

⯠Manager dauly thoughts âŻ
Imagine being Inarizaki's team manager!!!
Like you get food from Kita all the time! He makes sure you are well fed
You are also kne of the few girls that Atsumu doesn't find annoying! You aren't a pig in his eyes <33 You're his precious manager.
Him and Osamu always fight about who gets to sit next to you in the bus. It happened so many times that the 4rd years end up stepping in and rotating. So Kita, Aran, and Ren rotate to keep those two from pulling each other's hair out
Oh my God, yes! Haikyuu managers is the best thing ever! Let's do more! Please, I miss my managers thoughts so much. Give me back my 2020!
You get food not only from Kita but also from Osamu as soon as he warms up to you a little. This is his way to get some your attention~ When it comes to Kita he is your shield from this chaotic team ahem twins and Suna ahem. He always makes sure that you feel comfortable and don't even think about leaving them. I bet there were a lot of managers who joined just because they wanted to spend more time with twins, so Kita is very happy that their team got you finally! You, their caring and precious manager who takes care of all of them!
Definitely! Atsumu is whipped for you! I can imagine that you know that Atsumu doesn't like when cheer squad distracts him, so you always stay silent every time he plays, but you cheer all his teammates. And you're so damn cute, ugh! So Atsumu ends up being jealous and secretly wants you to cheer him up too!
Yes, yes, yes, they'd definitely fight for you attention!
Atsumu: Back off, 'samu! I I'll sit here! Osamu: Shut up, 'tsumu! This's my seat! Kita: Since me and (y/n) have things to discuss, I'll sit here.

My headcanons on what type of manager certain Haikyuu!! Volleyball clubs would have~ (Featuring Aoba Johsai and Inarizaki)
These have been bouncing around in my head for a few days, so I had to write them down~
Aoba Johsai
Someone headstrong and no nonsense, but encouraging in their own way.
Sighs in annoyance at Oikawa's antics, especially with how petty he towards certain opponents (but encourages him to take down Ushiwaka).
Gets along well with Iwaizumi and the other third-years, is one of the few that can tame Mad Dog and encourages the first-year in their own laid-back way.
Pretends not to be too invested this club, but in reality, is invested so much to see Aoba Johsai go far.
Gets annoyed with handling any gifts from fans ("I'm your manager, not your mail box, Oikawa!")
Thinks Shiratorizawa is the most boring group of people they've ever met and not afraid to voice it.
Inarizaki
Collected and hard-working but gets flustered easily. Doesn't talk that much but when they get flustered, they have a bad habit of rambling.
Gets along mostly with Kita and Osamu because of their personality. Atsumu is usually the one flustering them (On purpose? Accidental? That's anyone guess. Gets even more flustered when Kita or Osamu stands up for them).
Like with Aoba Johsai's manager, gets annoyed with handling any gifts from fans ("If you actually cared, you'd give these gifts to the players yourself").
Does not like the band, finds it pointless.
The third-years treat them like a younger sibling (especially Kita and Aran), gets along well enough with the second-years (though, has a list of all the things that bug them about the second-years. Atsumu's is the longest) and tried to encourage the first-years.
Cried at the lost at Nationals, fully seeing how hard everyone worked.

I should have know that I would've ended up liking Atsumu, especially after seeing he's a fox coded character... And as someone that has fox plushies, necklaces, mugs and various trinkets, fox drawings, origami and dedicated poems that my best friend made for me, all on display around my bedroom... Hell I even sleep every night with a fox eye sleeping mask!!! I should have know I was doomed to like him the moment I saw that little fox Atsumu with that smug smile!!!

#I love foxes so much I could be the Inarizaki team manager at this point đŠ#honourary member lmao đŠ#and the mask is so old it doesn't even have a nose anymore because it fell off ahdgsjak#and like a clown I thought I could escape from the fox coded characters đźâđš#guya posts#guya watches haikyuu#miya atsumu#haikyuu#hq#hq atsumu

Inarizaki!Manager
Second year shenanigans
Yusuzu had thought that maybe since the assholes that were their third years had finally graduated, she and her friends would finally get some semblance of peace
........boy was she wrong
sure she'd heard Aran (fondly) complaining about the Miya twins countless time and of course any high school volleyball manager in Japan worth their salt knew who the Miya twins were.
But nothing in this world could have prepared her for those two menaces.
Sure the previous third years were assholes and bullies but that was the end of it.
Aran was an angel so he didn't count but Yusuzu was used to managing people who werenâtâŠâŠ..monsters.
The Miyas, especially Atsumu though Osamu wasnât that far behind in being a little shit, weâre so passionate about the sport that it made all the other players fade a little in comparison.
Yuzusu was in awe of their talent and skills when she wasn't busy trying to get them to take a break and focus on their schoolwork because 'yes I know yer gonna play volleyball professionally but ain't no team takin' a highschool drop out 'Tsumu!'
She tries her best ok
She is very strict about how much all the members of the club practise and how much they rest because too much volleyball is very much a thing no matter what the Miyas say.
Kita helps her handle the starting first years aka The Miyas who are always this đclose to getting smacked in the head by Yusuzu, Rintarou the ever present cameraman who has way too much memory storage on his phone to be normal and Ginjima who is mostly caught up in the shit the twins get into.
Her juniors are Menacesâą (even Ginjima who pretends he isn't sometimes) but she takes care of them very well.
She had to come up with an entirely different diet for Osamu because of how fast his metabolism is and then she unconsciously started carrying around at least a handful of granola bars for the younger twin.
Rintarou is slightly sacred of Yusuzu because she is the only person he has ever seen be able to scold Kita and get away with it (she even made him look guilty! How?!?) not even the coaches can do that.
He always once saw her balance all their towels and uniforms in two hands without dropping a single thing from the laundry room to their court (which is pretty far considering all she was carrying) and has never been more impressed.
This has been floating around my head for so long but then I fell into the one piece rabbit hole and forgot to write this down lol.

I need help finding Haikyuu fanfics with an oc female that ACTUALLY plays volleyball. None of the whole "She was once great but now has some sort of injury so she can never play again and is reduced to just being the manager of one of the boys' teams" bullshit.

These little... cowslip; mischief and adventure
hq masterlist... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- What in the hell was going on?
Taking in the sight before her, Inarizaki's poor manager could feel the blood in her start to boil. Originally in a meeting with all of the coaches and managers in the area for a training camp, Y/N agreed to run back to the gym to go grab her notebook and also to go check on the boys. Leaving the team alone couldn't be that bad especially with Kita watching them. Well that was what the coaches insisted. But boy were they wrong.
Opening the door to the boys volleyball gym, Y/N was greeted with Atsumu was throwing a Volleyball at Osamu, Omimi catching a ball thrown by Ginjima and getting ready to wind up and throw it, Other members of the team seemed to also be participating in this too.Even Aran, the one person she thought wouldn't encourage this! And of course, there was Suna, standing at the side of the court, volleyball poles and net on the floor next to him, filming the chaos going on.
Yet, as she looked around there was one person she couldn't find Kita and Riseki. Hm, how odd. Trying to think about where team captain was would be for later. Shaking her head, Y/N sucked in a breath and in the loudest, calmest, non-screaming voice, let out a deep "Oi."
Head immediately turning, the manager crossed her arms and stared at all of them, making eye contact so she knew she had all attention on her. Everyone would be thoroughly fucked after this, especially after the coaches find out.
