Writing Notes: Anxious Attachment Style
Common Anxious Thoughts, Emotions, and Reactions
THOUGHTS
Mind reading: "That’s it, I know s/he’s leaving me."
All-or-nothing thinking: "I’ve ruined everything, there’s nothing I can do to mend the situation."
"I’ll never find anyone else."
"I knew this was too good to last."
"I have to talk to or see him/her right now."
"S/he can’t treat me this way! I’ll show him/her!"
"S/he is so amazing, why would s/he want to be with me anyway?"
"I knew something would go wrong; nothing ever works out right for me."
"S/he’d better come crawling back to beg my forgiveness, otherwise s/he can forget about me forever."
"Maybe if I look drop-dead gorgeous or act seductive, things will work out."
Remembering all the good things your partner ever did and said after calming down from a fight.
Recalling only the bad things your partner has ever done when you’re fighting.
EMOTIONS
Sad ⚜ Angry ⚜ Fearful ⚜ Resentful ⚜ Frustrated
Hopeless ⚜ Despairing ⚜ Jealous ⚜ Hostile ⚜ Vengeful
Guilty ⚜ Self-loathing ⚜ Restless ⚜ Uneasy ⚜ Humiliated
Hate-filled ⚜ Uncertain ⚜ Agitated ⚜ Rejected ⚜ Depressed
Unloved ⚜ Lonely ⚜ Misunderstood ⚜ Unappreciated
ACTIONS
Act out. ⚜ Attempt to reestablish contact at any cost.
Pick a fight. ⚜ Threaten to leave.
Wait for them to make the first reconciliation move.
Act hostile—roll eyes, look disdainful.
Try to make him/her feel jealous.
Act busy or unapproachable. ⚜ Act manipulatively.
Withdraw—stop talking to their partner or turn away from him/her physically.
Attachment classifications come from watching babies’ behavior.
Below is a short description of how anxious attachment style is defined in children. Some of their responses can also be detected in adults who share the same attachment style.
This baby becomes extremely distressed when mommy leaves the room.
When her mother returns, she reacts ambivalently—she is happy to see her but angry at the same time.
She takes longer to calm down, and even when she does, it is only temporary.
A few seconds later, she’ll angrily push mommy away, wriggle down, and burst into tears again.
Where Do Attachments Styles Come From?
Initially it was assumed that adult attachment styles were primarily a product of your upbringing.
Thus, it was hypothesized that your current attachment style is determined by the way in which you were cared for as a baby:
If your parents were sensitive, available, and responsive, you should have a secure attachment style; if they were inconsistently responsive, you should develop an anxious attachment style; and if they were distant, rigid, and unresponsive, you should develop an avoidant attachment style.
Today, however, we know that attachment styles in adulthood are influenced by a variety of factors, one of which is the way our parents cared for us, but other factors also come into play, including our genes and life experiences.

>Yeah we all went pretty feral over this when it came out. You remember Undertale? The hype was a lot like that.
Oh boy that's a repressed memory. It was *way* worse than undertale.
So in 2007 newgrounds and flash in general was super popular. If you missed NG and the flash sites in general they were about halfway between youtube poop era youtube and the online-playable parts of itch.io. There was a big culture of getting dumb stuff out fast and due to the size of the internet at the time NG was one of the primary hangouts for anyone internet savvy under the age of 25 or so. AMVs were also a pretty big thing at the time. A lot of these were hosted on newgrounds since Flash made it trivial to synchronize a silly little animation to an audio track.
So roughly 12 hours after Portal dropped NG started flooding with Still Alive AMVs featuring pretty much every character and context you could imagine. Within 48 hours it was completely flooding the site and 8/10 of the top 10 were Still Alive AMVs. It lasted through the weekend and immediately burned out the next week as absolutely everyone was sick of it. It's the fastest I've seen a meme hit, go supernova and utterly burn out to the point where absolutely everyone hated it. The whole cycle was like 5 days.
Watch this guy who just played Portal for the first time absolutely lose his mind at the end credits song

Okay alright I'm tired of giving more children to Bruce Wayne I think we need to start taking some away
Tim getting kidnapped (but in a way they don't announce Tim Drake-Wayne as missing??) and is given Something that induces amnesia but he escapes or maybe just literally wanders away but like he's in the middle of Ohio and he's walking down the road unsure of his own name or where he is and a weird looking camper pills over and a large man leans out the window and says “you doing alright there, sonny?”
And he doesn't really know so he sorta shrugs so they pick him up and the man introduces himself as Jack and this is his wife Maddie and their two kids Danny and Jazz and they're just heading back from a camping trip and they can take him into town (Amity?) and take him down to the station and help him get things figured out
The police take his picture and upload it to a “found” database or smth but there's no active or recent cases in Ohio for missing persons (or teenagers) matching his description
(But also, Amity is pretty disconnected from the rest of the world digitally. They mind their business. Sure they run this boy's face in the newspaper and let the neighboring precincts about him but there's not much more they can do until this kid gets some memories back)
So he goes to stay with Jack and Maddie (idk how i don’t care about LAWS) while they wait to see if they get any hits or until he gets some memories back and they register him under Alvin (“hmm maybe... Tom? No, definitely not. Caroline? Alvin? That sounds the best I guess”) Fenton at the local high school so he can keep getting an education (and Alvin isn’t sure why, but this sort of feels like a waste of time, he already knows all this math stuff and why would he want to read Of Mice and Men he’s pretty sure someone told him John Steinbeck was a hack. Or maybe not. He can’t remember) but it’s simple enough and he likes the Fentons even if they keep trying to convince him ghosts are real
And maybe they are. Actually. Real that is. He saw one the other day and had to double check if knowing ghosts were real is a common knowledge thing that he forgot of if he never knew in the first place. Jazz tells him that ghosts are pretty much an Amity specific thing but that they appear other places and then Jack and Maddie set him down and give him the entire history of ghosts that night and then show him their lab which is pretty cool
And maybe he accidentally suplexed someone who startled him in the halls on his first day and also fell asleep in science, but give him a break! he’s going through a lot right now
But his new brother roommate friend? Is helping him adjust at school by telling him who to avoid and what not to eat from the cafeteria and Jazz is in most of his classes but also he’s not sure why they’re trying to act all sneaky about this Inviso-Bill/vigilante situation because like. That’s clearly just Danny with white hair? He looks the exact same? Also he literally saw Danny walk through the bathroom door last week if it wasn’t obvious enough.
So Tim really isn’t expecting Danny to be surprised that he picked up a thermos that Phantom dropped when he and his friends ran off to fight another ghost

Forgotten Thing : ̗̀➛ Max Verstappen
summary: you know just how busy max is, and you understood too, only now you're starting to feel like the forgotten thing in his life
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sound of light snores greeted you as you walked into the apartment, unable to stop your eyes from rolling. Your heart raced as you slipped your shoes off, dropping your bag to the ground with a loud thud, not caring about the figure asleep in your living room.
“Max,” you called out, standing to the side of the sofa with your arms folded across your chest.
The sound of your voice had him stirring, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. A smile was on his face for a moment until Max noticed how nice you looked, eyes going wide in horror when he remembered that he had promised to pick you up from work.
“That was a lovely walk home,” you sarcastically told him, taking a seat on the end of the sofa, “at least you got some rest though, that’s what matters, right?”
The frustration was clear in your voice as you found yourself let down by Max again. It was becoming a pretty normal feeling for you, to be given empty promises and assured of things that you knew that Max wouldn’t be able to follow through.
“Don’t be mad, please,” Max asked of you, sitting himself up. “I only planned on closing my eyes for a few minutes, and then I just lost track of time. I mean, all you had to do was walk home from work, it’s hardly the most difficult job in the world.
Your head shook at how dismissive Max was. “The walk home didn’t bother me Max, it’s the fact that you promised you’d be there. You keep promising and not delivering, it’s like I’m some forgotten, unimportant part of your life.”
Max brushed his hands over his face as he tried to wake himself up, not quite understanding what you were so fed up about. “I’ve been so busy at work recently I obviously just needed the sleep. We can’t all have a job like yours, some of us are working nonstop.”
“I see, because my job is a walk in the park, isn’t it?” You scoffed.
You couldn’t quite believe what you were hearing from Max, he’d always seemed to be supportive, but now you weren’t so sure. It was like the two of you were in competition, with Max clearly feeling like he was winning.
“It’s not the same, how hard I work and how hard you work is very different. I’ve got a flight to catch early tomorrow morning and you’ve got the next two days off, so I’d say I’m slightly more important,” Max argued.
Your mouth went wide in shock, letting go of a gasp. You didn’t recognise the man in front of you, the man who usually was so caring and sympathetic had turned into someone who couldn’t care less about you.
“I’ve always looked after you Max, done absolutely anything for you. It’s a shame you can’t do the same for me. I might as well just leave, that’s how you make me feel,” you spoke.
Max’s eyes widened once again, his body tensing up. You stood up, feeling Max's eyes watching your every move, slowly backing towards the front door.
“You wouldn’t actually leave,” Max sniggered.
“Why not? What is there to make me stay anymore?” You challenged, your voice getting louder. “Why shouldn’t I go somewhere where I actually feel valued and appreciated rather as if I’m nothing.”
“Love,” Max whispered, brushing a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry that I’ve made you feel that way, it’s just been so hard for the past couple of weeks. I really did intend on picking you up, I set an alarm and everything, but I must’ve just slept right through it.”
“If you were tired or stressed Max, you should’ve told me, I’d never have expected you to pick me up if I knew,” you sighed, walking back into the room again.
“But you’re right, I do keep making promises that I can’t keep, so I wanted to pick you up to prove to you that I care.” Max tapped the space beside him on the sofa, inviting you to sit beside him as his hand rested against your leg.
“I know that you care about me,” you assured him.
Max’s head shook, “but I’ve not shown you that, when you’re constantly here caring for me, I just take it for granted, we’re supposed to care for each other.”
You smiled weakly across at Max, knowing better than anyone just how hard he worked. For all his faults, you could never fault how loved he made you feel, even if his mind was elsewhere sometimes. Your hand reached out and pressed against the side of his face, lips pressing against his cheek, unaware of the way Max’s heart raced with relief at the feeling of your lips on him.
“If you’re free this weekend, do you fancy coming to the race?” Max asked you, “I’ll make sure that we can spend some time together when I’m not needed at the garage. We can explore, have a proper look around.”
Your head nodded at his suggestion, excited by the thought of being at a race again. It had been a while, you were never quite sure if Max wanted you there or not, but now he couldn’t imagine himself going to the race without you.
“You don’t need to do this, I know how hard race weekends are,” you assured him, squeezing against his hand, “I don’t need anything to be made up to me.”
“But you do,” Max defended, knowing just how badly he’d treated you. “I want to make sure you know that I care, I’m going to make sure that we have the best weekend together too.”
Max moved his free arm around your frame as he pulled you into his side, pressing several gentle kisses against the top of your head. The hold he had on you was more loving than anything you’d felt from him in a while, letting you know just how sorry he was.
Once he was done, Max kept his head resting on top of yours. “Whatever you want to do whilst we’re there this weekend, we’ll do. I’ll even drive you around and pick you up from the paddock.”
“Max,” you whispered, but he quickly shushed you, knowing what you were about to say.
“Don’t tell me that you understand that it’s alright, because it’s not,” he laughed, reading your mind perfectly. “I’ve been a terrible boyfriend and that needs to be put right.”
“I do understand, you work so hard.”
“And so do you,” Max responded, “I never should’ve made it sound like your job doesn’t matter, because it does, you’re the hardest working person I know. I’m sorry.”
“Stop apologising,” you grinned, pressing your head further into Max’s side, “I know how sorry you are Max.”
A hum came from him as he leant back on the sofa, cuddling you into his side as he draped his legs over the top of yours.
“Let’s sleep for a bit,” you suggested, placing your hand on his chest, “I know how much better you sleep when you’ve got someone to cuddle.”
Max nodded in agreement with you, “you can’t be telling anyone how much I love being cuddled to sleep, people won’t think I’m cool anymore.”
“Leave me stranded at work again and I might just reveal all your secrets,” you teased.
“You wouldn’t,” Max challenged, watching your head nod out of the corner of his eye.
“You wouldn’t want to find out.”

1. the new neighbor 🥥
a/n 𓇼 hey lovies
summary 𓇼 after returning to the obx, you rent the cameron’s guest house; forcing you into close proximity with your ex boyfriend— rafe.
pairings 𓇼 pogue!reader x exbf!rafecameron
warnings 𓇼 this is only the first part so just angst, not proofread, mentions of drugs
Tumblr media
˚⋆𓇼˚⊹ 𖦹 ⁺。° ˚⋆𓇼˚⊹ 𖦹 ⁺。° ˚⋆𓇼˚⊹ 𖦹
“my dad said our guest house is ready for you when you get here.” sarah emphasized on the phone call you were on.
“okay. thank you so much sarah.” you say into the phone. both you and sarah bid your goodbyes and hangup. grabbing your suitcase, and other bags, you open the door of the uber you ordered, leave the airport and head to: the outer banks.
outer banks was your home…. until you moved to new york in hopes of living a less divided life. during your time living in the obx, your parents both passed, you spent your time with pogues, but ultimately was in love with and dated a kook— rafe.
he was another reason you left. during the 2 years you two dated, it was all perfect.. until he got into drugs.
you never understood the toll drugs could have on someone until rafe started getting violent, his emotions were all over the place, he became impulsive, and relied on coke to make him happy.
so you packed your things and left with no note behind or anything. rafe did reach out sarah didn’t talk to you for awhile but eventually she understood your reasoning.
after an hour of driving, you’re finally driving though figure 8. big houses come into view along with boats. another 15 minutes go by and you’re pulling into the entrance of taneyhill.
you grab your phone and text sarah “i’m outside” before collecting your bags, thanking the driver, and walking towards the door.
sarah and rose greet you at the front door. both engulfing you in hugs. “jesus y/n i’ve missed you so much. you don’t understand” sarah says.
“i’ve missed you guys too. where’s wheezie?” you ask
both of their faces go staid before rose says, “she’s with rafe actually. they went out in the boat.”
you smile softly, a bit hurt at the sound of his name, “well that sounds nice. i hope they’re having fun”
silence falls within the three of you before ross breaks in saying, “let’s get you into your house, kay?”
you smile again, sarah grabs your things, and you head towards the adjoining guest house.
𓇼
the rest of your night goes by smoothly, no rafe encounters and you quickly remembered how much you enjoyed outer banks.
the next morning you wake up and do your everyday morning routine, with plans of going on your morning run. you throw your hair in a pony tail, pull on running shorts, an oversized t-shirt, and running shoes before leaving the guest house and walking over to the cameron’s house.
as quietly as you can, you fill your water bottle with ice and water until—
“what’re you doing?” a deep voice says from behind you, almost making you drop your bottle. you turn and see rafe. his family is illuminated by the sun seeping through the blinds. his blue eyes watch you. he’s wearing grey sweatpants and no shirt.
“i’m filling my water bottle rafe.”
“no what are you doing? here?”
“i decided to come back home” you begin while closing your bottle, “i missed it here.”
“you’re so full of shit.”
your eyebrows scrunch as you roughly—slam the bottle on the counter. “what’s that supposed to mean rafe?”
“you just left and now you just back. bull-fucking-shit. get someone else to believe your manipulative ass, because it won’t be me.”
“luckily,” you start and begin to walk towards the door, leading back out, “i don’t need your approval.”
you hear him follow you, “you need to leave y/n. you left before so it shouldn’t be hard now.”
that one hit you straight in the heart because you quickly turn around and say, “really rafe? i left? you mentally fucking left our relationship way before i did. but if blaming me makes you fucking feel better so be it. but until i can get a place of my own, we just need to agree to stay out of each others way.”
“y’know what? whatever.” rafe curses and rolls his eyes. he goes to turn leave but stops, “also, nice shirt y/n”
with that he leaves and slams the door behind him, leaving you confused until you look down to see you’re wearing his shirt.

As always many thoughts...
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters." "Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch.
Of course he wouldn't 😅
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something." "Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her. "They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
Hahah this whole conversation cracked me up 😂
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
Ok rude of Bradley, it was just a nice thought 🙄😒
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered." "Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
🥰🥰🥰
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner. "You're never fast! You like to linger!" "It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
Haha I can't with him
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
Of course he does 🤭
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer. "I could always nurse you later if you want." "I take it you're interested in my offer." "Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off."
🤭🤭🤭
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
Oh no, she is too hard on herself 🥺
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel."
Oh don't act like a saint Jake, we all know you wanna marry her sooner rather than later an if Cat had a buch of trauma and needs time because of that, they would have been married already 😅
Jake heaved a deep sigh, dragging a fry through ketchup. "He already calls me 'dad'. His speech was delayed, but it was still one of his first words, probably because I was around so much. I want to make sure Cat's ex doesn't get any rights, and if that means I need to hire another legal team before we get married, then so be it."
Dad Jake 🥹🥰
Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Maybe maybe there is something else going on, hmm 🤭
"You look like a DILF."
He sure does 😌
"Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?" You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
Hahaha this is so Bradley 😅
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight. "You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
He just loves to be with his girls 🥰
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
🥰🥰🥰
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
He is living his best life 😅
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away?
Yes, he absolutely 100% is
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."
Oh oh this feels like trouble 😬🫣

Once again, your parents extended their stay to spend more time with Rose, but when they finally flew back to Maryland, it felt strange to be on your own with your daughter. You and Bradley fell into a regular routine once more, but it took him days before he came clean about being stressed out. When he got home late from work to find you on the couch feeding Rose, you could tell by the set of his shoulders that he'd had a long day.
"Can we talk about some things?" he asked, bending to untie his boots. You'd been wanting him to confide in you for days, but you were already exhausted again from the late night feedings and had pushed the comments Bradley made to Jake to the back burner.
"What's on your mind?" you asked, secretly pleased that he leaned down to give you a long, needy kiss, complete with his big hand on your neck, before kissing Rose as she ate. It had been a few days since you and he were intimate, and your body was already responding to him as he dropped down on the couch next to you.
"Can we just move to La Jolla? Nothing stresses me out when we have copious amounts of champagne and oral sex."
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters."
"Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch. "Your mom and dad are serious about moving out here."
Your smile started to fade away. "Yeah, Roo. They are. And I thought you were pleased by that fact."
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something."
"Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her.
"They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
You sighed and reached for Bradley, cupping his jaw in your hand and stroking his mustache with your thumb. "My parents are seriously getting their house ready to sell. So just give it to me straight."
He nodded. "I don't want them over here all the time, okay? I love them, I really do, but they take over our house when they come. And even though we finished the attic so they could have a place to stay when they're here, Rosie can move her bedroom up there when she's older. So it wasn't a waste of time since the contractor saw your tits."
"It was a photo of my tits! I didn't just whip them out for him to see!" Now Bradley was laughing as you said, "It sounds like you're worried about having some boundaries if my parents become our new neighbors."
"Yes," he replied, nodding as you ran your fingers along his jaw. "That."
"I'm sure we can have a conversation with them and address all of your concerns." Rose seemed to be done burping, and you were treated to the view of Bradley cuddling your four month old against his chest. "Now, can you tell me what else made you have a bad day at work?"
"What makes you think I had a bad day?" he asked, placing soft kisses on Rose's cheek. "I could never have a bad day when I get to come home to my girls." You sighed as he ran his nose along her hair and inhaled deeply before he met your gaze. "Okay. It's not the end of the world, but Mav informed me that I need to take a trip to the Naval Airstation in Fort Worth. I don't really have any details yet."
"Okay," you replied softly, finally voicing what had been on your mind. "Well, maybe Rose and I can come with you for a few days? I can't remember exactly how much vacation time I have left, but it could be fun. And you did say the next trip should be for the three of us to enjoy together."
Bradley shrugged and immediately said, "Fort Worth in August? Baby Girl, it's going to be miserably hot. I know you, for some reason, miss the east coast humidity, but this is going to be gross. Ask Jake about it, he's from that ridiculous state."
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
His head tipped back as he sighed. "I'm taking this new position so I can hopefully deploy less often and be here more later on. Even if I have to start working longer days, a week or two away from home is nothing compared to five months."
You bristled. "I understand that, Roo. We've talked about this so much. But maybe try to be a little bit more patient with the idea of my parents moving here so I can have a support system when you're busy?"
When you stood and rushed toward the bedroom, Bradley was right behind you, hand reaching out to grab your shoulder while he still held Rose tight. "Are you mad at me?"
Your stomach roiled with irritation, annoyance and disdain. You hated when you got like this, because he was the one who could bring out the best and also the worst in you. "I don't know."
-------------------------------
You were kind of quiet at home. Bradley hated it. You were a bit more vocal during sex, but that certainly didn't make him feel any better about the rest of it.
"I have my dates for Fort Worth," he informed you when he strolled in from work with some yellow flowers and a new book for Rose. Today was important to him. He wasn't sure you'd remember why, but he still wanted to acknowledge it.
"When?" you asked, continuing to make dinner while he looked around for the baby. "She's napping in her crib," you added, seemingly knowing he always wanted his daughter nearby.
"Second week of August," he replied. "So, pretty soon. But just for a week." You nodded as Bradley walked closer, and he realized what you were cooking. "Marry Me Rooster?"
"Yeah." Your voice was soft as you looked at him over your shoulder. You were also still wearing your khaki uniform, and he could tell you were tired. He was tired, too, but he wanted things to feel more natural around here again. He didn't want to accept that this was just how things would be now when the two of you were taking turns getting up with Rose all the time.
He wished he hadn't made such a fuss about your parents, because he really did love them, and it would be nice to have some help occasionally. And now he felt like you were continually annoyed with him, and he had to figure out a way to fix this.
Your voice broke into his thoughts. "It's kind of a special day?"
You sounded unsure. Like you thought maybe he didn't remember. But a smile immediately found his lips, and he gestured to the flowers. He should have known you'd remember. You remembered everything. You just made him a seafood platter to celebrate Carole's birthday the other day.
"I proposed two years ago." You visibly relaxed at his words as you took the flowers in your hands. He stroked the diamond ring on your finger as he said, "I couldn't wait another minute after I found this in the storage unit. I needed you to wear it. I needed you to say yes." You melted into his arms, and he kissed your forehead. "Can I go ahead and propose something else right now?"
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered."
"Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
Your eyes lit up as he cupped your perfect cheek in his hand. "I have so many ideas, Roo."
"I knew you would. Can I make another proposal?" When you raised one eyebrow, he whispered, "How about we mess around before Rose wakes up?"
He was already wrapping his arms around you, turning you toward the hallway when you said, "But what about dinner?"
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner.
"You're never fast! You like to linger!"
"It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
This was the closest thing to a true quickie Bradley had experienced in a long time. Maybe ever. You were pushed up against the wall just inside the bedroom, belt jingling with your pants down around your thighs. He was going hard at a nice, steady pace with his hand inside your bra. Your warm milk dripped between his fingers and along his palm as he whimpered.
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer.
"I could always nurse you later if you want."
When he came, his vision flooded with dizzying color. Bradley lapped your milk from his hand, moaning your name as his hips eventually slowed. Rose was wailing now as you bent down to pull your pants up, cum dripping down your inner thighs as you looked at him with a little grin.
"I take it you're interested in my offer."
"Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off." You laughed when he said, "Happy engagement anniversary. I'll go take care of the Nugget."
-----------------------------
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel." You rolled your eyes dramatically at him, but you were fighting a smile. "I'm trying my best to make sure that everything is in order for Jeremiah, if I'm being honest."
"Like what?" you asked, blowing on a spoonful of your soup.
Tears stung your eyes as you patted his cheek gently. You knew you were lucky that you and Bradley were together and that he would do anything to take care of his child, but right now you were just so happy for Jeremiah. "He's such a sweet kid, Jake. And you love him so much."
"I do," he replied before taking an enormous bite out of his burger. You let him chew in silence while you picked at your lunch. Right now, you really wished Bradley was here, but the chances of him showing up were slim when he was out shadowing Maverick again. He was leaving in a few days for Texas, and you were feeling pretty emotional. It would just be you and Rose at home for a whole week by yourselves.
"Well, if you're looking for a nice venue, I know a good parking lot."
Jake barked out a laugh. "There's too much sentimental Bradshaw bullshit in that parking lot. No way I'd be allowed to get married there."
Then Cat showed up, and Jake's attention immediately shifted to her. You poked your salad around on your plate, wondering why you were so damn tired. You still had four more hours of work to get through before you had to pick Rose up and make dinner. Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Your afternoon was filled with checking code that someone in Annapolis had entered, and they'd done a really shitty job. When you left your office, your eyes were tired, and you could feel yourself caving. You ordered a pizza and picked it up on your way home with Rose. Then you ate half of it on the couch while you fed her. And when you were done, you really wanted to cry, because you didn't know why you couldn't control yourself right now.
"I'm starving," Bradley groaned when he walked in. "You got pizza?" he asked, shoving two slices stacked up on top of each other into his mouth and moaning. Then he dropped down onto the couch and polished them off while you switched Rose to your other side. "I need to remember to pack my dress blues for Fort Worth."
"Why?"
Bradley shrugged and reached for the next slice. "Apparently, there's some sort of reception for the aviators that are selected for Top Gun in the fall. I don't know how much sway I'll have, but I'm really hoping I can pick some good ones for the next generation of the program since I'm aging out."
"You're not aging out, Roo!" you gasped. "You chose a different career trajectory!"
"I mean..."
"Stop. You're not old. Don't even try to tell me you're old."
"I'll be forty soon."
"You're thirty-eight."
"That's almost forty."
"You look like a DILF."
He reached for the last slice of pizza, folded it up and ate it while he reached for Rose. Like usual, she curled up on her father. Her features looked so much like his, but he was always the first one to argue with you about that, so you said nothing while he chewed up his food.
"I need you to help me pack for hot as hell Texas. I'm thinking just shorts besides my flight suits and uniforms?"
"I'll help you as soon as Rose goes to sleep for the night."
Bradley took the reins for the rest of the evening while you tried not to fall asleep before the baby. That was much easier said than done, but at least Bradley supervised tummy time while Tramp licked Rose, and then he gave her a bath. He read bedtime stories and changed her into pajamas so you didn't have to, gently setting her in her crib before joining you where you sat in bed yawning.
"You okay?" he asked, brushing his lips along your cheek before heading to the closet to start pulling out clothes to pack.
"Yeah. I just wish I didn't order the pizza, because it's empty calories, and it probably made me feel worse and more exhausted in the long run."
"But it was delicious," he muttered, piling up some of his favorite tropical print shirts. "Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?"
You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
"See, you understand," he muttered with a smile as you chose two of your favorites and handed them to him. It was strange watching him load things into a duffle bag for something other than a deployment or special mission. You knew exactly how long he'd be gone. You knew it was just for a week and that he could FaceTime you and Rose whenever he wanted to, but it still felt like you were sending him away.
"We're going to miss you."
He immediately tossed the bag onto the floor and joined you in bed. "Don't cry, Baby Girl," he whispered, swiping at tears you hadn't realized were already filling your eyes. "I'll barely be gone at all. And I don't even have to finish packing tonight. I can do it later."
You nodded and let him envelope you in his warmth. That's how you eventually fell asleep.
----------------------------------
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight.
"You have to go now so hopefully you can do this less frequently in the future," you whispered, voice shaky with emotion. You looked really tired, and Bradley knew you wouldn't get much of a break this week. That's why he'd arranged for Nat to check on you at home a few times whether you wanted her to or not.
"Count on it, Sweetheart," he murmured, placing kisses to Rosie's soft hair as her little fingers poked at the insignia pins on his uniform. "And I need you to be a perfect Nugget for Mommy. I'll call later tonight after I get settled in the barracks."
"Okay." Your voice was muffled as you buried your face against his neck. "I love you."
"I love you both," he promised, collecting his final kisses from Rose before buckling her into her car seat in the back of the red Bronco. Then he got a particularly filthy kiss from you that left both of you grinning before you started to shove him toward the airport entrance.
"You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
He hated traveling like this, in his uniform. It felt like everyone milling around, trying to check their bags, was looking at him. He was only wearing it today, because he wasn't sure what to expect when he arrived at a base he'd only visited one time years ago. The last thing he wanted was to seem unprepared in front of an admiral, so he wore his khakis as a precaution.
"Lieutenant Commander. Where are you headed?" asked the airline agent when she looked at his pins.
Impressed, he replied, "Dallas-Fort Worth."
She took his duffle, wished him a good flight, and then Bradley slept for the entire time he was in the air. Maybe you weren't the only one who was exhausted, because the nap seemed to do wonders for him. He woke up feeling rested, and just as soon as he sent a text letting you know he landed, he was off in search of a rental car.
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
"Don't like the lack of a car seat," he muttered, tossing his bag onto the backseat where he was so used to seeing Rose's infant carrier.
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away? Apparently he was, and it made him ache to be away from her. This was so much worse than going to La Jolla without his daughter, because right now, he had neither of you.
When his stomach started rumbling for dinner, he drove to the barracks and showed his identification, only to be told his room wasn't ready yet. So he went right back out to the Bronco in search of dinner. He knew the name of a tavern popular with officers in the area, so he typed it into his GPS and headed in the direction it told him. He had to laugh, figuring he was about to walk into the Lone Star version of the Hard Deck, but that's kind of what he wanted right now. Dinner somewhere that felt comfortable if not familiar.
"Oof." It looked like a dump compared to his bar at home, but it seemed popular, and he was hungry enough that it didn't matter. When he walked in, he took a quick survey of the space before grabbing an empty stool at the bar. He ordered your favorite beer and a sandwich and took his phone out, careful not to set it on the bar in case the owner was part of some sort of association along with Penny.
He tried reading an article, but he felt as though he was being watched. Bradley tried to ignore it, fairly certain he didn't know anyone on base here, but the feeling nagged at him while he ate. The twang of music playing on the jukebox was distracting, but not distracting enough. When he finished his food and wiped his mouth with a napkin, he picked up his bottle and drained the rest of his beer while he glanced around.
Then he saw a young woman in a flight suit playing pool not too far from his spot at the bar. Her bright blue eyes were focused on his face, and her lips curled into a grin before she bent to sink her shot. Her patches told him she originated from Virginia Beach like he did, and that her call sign was Indigo. As Bradley turned, ready to sign his bill and leave, he saw her approach out of the corner of his eye.
"Can I help you?" he asked, turning her way again with one eyebrow raised. She was attractive, even up close, and he remained silent while her gaze traveled from his face down to his chest where his name tag was displayed. Then she gasped in delight.
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."

➸ pairing: arcane survivor!jayce talis x fem!reader ➸ tags: mdni! porn with plot, angst, hurt/comfort, grief/loss, depression, sad ending, rough sex, choking, sorta-dubcon. ➸ notes: wow this was a lot more depressing than i intended it to be lol. my apologies. i rewatched yesterday and felt so much emotion for arcane survivor jayce and wrote whatever came to mind! i hope you like it 🥹
Tumblr media
Months had passed, months without Jayce. You remember the days clearly back then, he had been avoiding you – spending hours and hours in his lab after Viktor left. It was fine, you learned to manage seeing him only when he wanted. You told yourself it was fine
It wasn’t, but you managed.
Then he disappeared, as though he vanished out of thin air. Everyone you spoke to brushed you off, no one in the council would even look in your direction. Ambessa made it impossible.
You were a mess, alone in your apartment for weeks. Months.
There were days when you wanted to give up because what was life like without Jayce? There was no life with lost love, it was so painful that your stomach twisted in pain every waking hour. You’d begun to grieve, losing yourself to the idea that he’d never return. That his body had become one with the earth where he might lay dead.
It was late afternoon, your body curled into the blankets, naked and basking in the sun that pooled through the window. You had been in and out of sleep all day, tossing and turning. Having managed to shower, but nothing else but crawl back into your safety and remain there.
You dreamt of Jayce, like you always had. Memories flooded your mind, tears settling in the outer corners of your eyes.
Sleep was taking you over, eyes fluttering when the door to the apartment slammed open. You jolted up, hands grabbing at the blankets that you wrapped around your body haphazardly.
“Who’s there?” You shouted through a shaky voice, adrenaline coursing through your veins. Your bare feet padded along the wooden floorboards, heavy as you stomped toward imminent danger with nothing to lose, “My fiancé will be back any second,” you lied, baring your teeth as you turn the corner into the main area of your quaint apartment.
That’s when you gasped, the sound mixed with a strangled scream. Shaky hands covered your mouth.
“Jayce?” You croaked, “Oh my gods, Jayce.”
You weren’t permitted time to greet him, nor comment on the way he appeared. Rugged, a beard and hair that hung over his ears.
The door slammed behind him and the hextech hammer dropped to the ground with a thud heavy enough that the wood cracked beneath. He stepped toward you, earning another gasp as you were pushed against the kitchen table.
“Jayce,” your voice full of worry, fingers touching a beard you’d never seen on him before, “where have you–”
Lips crashed to yours, tongue forcing its way past your lips. You moaned, abiding by his movements as the blanket fell from your body, and you sat atop the table, thighs tight around his hips. Arms snaked around his neck, fingers tangling into his shaggy hair and tugging harshly as emotions flooded you. Tears streamed down your cheeks, dripping down your neck as you whined into his mouth.
“Can we talk?” You forced yourself back, chest heaving with heavy breaths as you looked into his eyes. All you could see was pain and loss, fear – anger. Wherever he was, he had been tormented, left him a shell of a man, “Jayce, please–”
He blinked hard, twitching as if to blink a vision away.
“No,” he growled, face burying against your neck as he sucked and bit with his scarred lips, rough hands groping at your naked hips hard enough you tried to squirm away.
“Stop,” you whined, your body reacting to his touch as your wet cunt rolled against the erection hidden under his slacks, but you yearned for more than this. You had questions that burned your mind, a need to heal whatever hurt him. To tell him that you missed him and loved him, that you were scared he’d been dead.
Your mind was blurry, heart pounding with a flurry of emotions as you tilted your head back and cried out.
“Just… be quiet,” he hissed, biting hard against your neck and causing you to yelp, “please,” he begged against your skin, tongue licking at the bruise that had formed over your skin.
You shuddered, lips quivering as you felt his hands grab at your body with fervor. You obliged, your heart knowing that this was a need. A distraction, perhaps, and you decided to welcome it wholly.
Jayce was back, that’s all that mattered. You had him. You could manage.
The man who was once tender with his touches was no longer here. His hands handled you with a sharp edge, leaving lasting redness and bruises in its wake, wrapped around your neck as you whimpered and tried to cry out in pleasure, but you couldn’t make a sound as his fingers pressed against the sides of your windpipe.
You were hastily pushed back on the kitchen table, dishes, papers and clutter pushed to the floor as Jayce fucked you with little remorse for your own needs. Your body had missed his touch, legs spread apart as his cock left a searing pain deep inside you and his teeth pinched your nipples.
With parted lips, all you could offer was a pitiful attempt at a whimper, eyes fluttering as he stared down at you – eyes full of rage. Lust and love were nowhere to be seen as he shoved two fingers between your lips, forcing your sounds to cease. You sucked as best as you could, offering the little energy you had to spare as your body shook beneath him.
The legs of the table creaking so loudly you were certain that it would break, the wood shaking and squeaking as it scraped against the flooring
Jayce’s breaths were ragged and heavy, moans choking in his throat as his cock fucked you in a tireless pace and he stared down at the way your breasts bounced with each hard snap of his hips. Your heels dug into the small of his back, thighs squeezing as the walls of your pussy clenched around him, silently begging for more.
He pulled his fingers from your mouth, and you gasped for air, the hand around your throat moving to massage your tits, instead pinching at your nipples hard enough that you squealed. You caught your breath and your eyes rolled into the back of your head. It was an incessant amount of pleasure and touch, leaving your body weak and near-limp.
Tears stung your eyes again, and you lifted a tired arm so your delicate hand caressed his bearded jaw. A gentle touch you had longed for since he stormed through the doors a different man that you’d seen him last.
“I… missed you,” you croaked between his unabating thrusts, whimpering voice catching in your throat with each deep send of his hips.
Jayce cringed back from your touch, flinching and twitching like he had before. His hands moved to your hips, stiffening his body and yours as he stared down at you with widened eyes and a newfound expression, as though clarity struck.
For a moment, his eyes flickered. There he was — your Jayce.
“Jayce,” you urged, moving to sit up as your hands rested on his cheeks, “please. Talk to me. I need you.”
His golden eyes grew damp, pupils dilating until they were blown out.
“I’m sorry,” the words croaked from trembling lips as the tears spilled down his cheeks. Emotions took over as he wailed out a sob, arms wrapping around your shoulders as he pulled you into a tight hug, face pressed into the side of your head, “I’m so sorry… sorry.”
You looked at the wall beyond him, your chin over his shoulder, as you listened to his cries and sobs. Your hands pressed against his back, soft and comforting.
He continued to mumble out apologies as you felt his tears stain against your skin.
Under your breath, you shushed him, hand gliding up and down his spine as you allowed him the space to feel. To exist without any negative repercussions, to live through whatever traumas he’d experienced while he was away.
The questions burned deep in your mind, but you bit back the curiosity. Your patience was thoroughly tested, but you could do this for him. You held your lover close and prayed to whatever god that would listen to keep him safe and in your arms. To keep him in your shared apartment, that he wouldn’t leave like he had.
“I love you,” he whimpered, nails clawing down your back and leaving reddened welts behind, “I’m sorry–”
You opened your eyes as he jerked back, watching in fear as he hurriedly put his clothes back on and grabbed the hammer. He was all over the place, leaving you unable to pin down the thoughts racing through his head, “I… I have to take care of it.”
“Take care of what? Jayce? Jayce!” You called out, scrambling to your feet as you chased after him, but your fiancé had already slammed the door in your face.
You whimpered, leaning against the door with your palms flat against the wood. Then you cried and cried for hours – begging that it had only been a bad dream. That the touches and bruises that lingered on your body would disappear much like he had.
You weren’t certain that you could manage any longer. Everything was a mess.

The Court Jester Part 4
Yandere Batfam x GN Reader
Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3
Waking up (Y/N)'s head felt fuzzy. Somehow, they felt constricted even though they could move. Looking around, they found themselves in a large room. The bed felt as if it was encasing them. They felt themselves looking for their weapon. Not being able to find it, they get up and start looking around the room.
The room was blank, as if it was a canvas waiting to be painted. It irritated them. 'Where the fuck am I? The last thing I can remember was... oh fuck. Dads gonna be soo pissed! I never got him his drink!'. (Y/N) frantically began looking for a way out realizing they were asked to get something for there dad. They went to the door and found it locked.
Just as they were going to open the other door in the room, the locked door burst open. Bruce Wayne flung himself into the room. "My baby! You're awake! God, what did that monster do to you?" Bruce questioned as he got closer to (Y/N). As soon as he got close enough (Y/N) tripped him and forced him into the ground. "Where am I?! The fuck have you done with my dad?!" (Y/N) yelled. "No need to be hostile kid. We just saved your ass." Jason stated walking into the room. Amused that Bruce had been caught off guard by your violence. Bruce suddenly got out of the hold as (Y/N)s attention shifted to Jason and held their hands behind their back. "You bitch! The fuck are you doing! Let me go!" (Y/N) screamed with struggling in his hold. "No (Y/N) went just got you back and we are going to help you get better." Bruce stated in a firm tone. "I don't need fixing you limp dick son of a bitch! My dad molded me in his image and I'm perfect because of that!" (Y/N) howled. "I think my dear sibling need some alone time." Jason said. Bruce nodded his head and let go of (Y/N) and left the room. "Just so you know (Y/N) because ,even though you are fucked, and I still love you the Joker is dead." Jason professed before he left the room and locked the door.
"No, he's lying. He can't die. He always comes back." (Y/N) whispered and unknowingly started crying. They began to grow themselves around the room, trying to find a way out, and ultimately broke an arm. It took an hour before it eventually healed. Their mental state making it more difficult to heal.
About an hour later, Damian entered the room with a change of clothes. He fought with his sibling for this opportunity to talk with (Y/N) and was going to take advantage of the situation. "Hello, sibling. I have brought you a change of clothes as the ones you are currently wearing are covering in blood and dirt. I hope we can get on better terms during your stay here." Damian spoke calmly, as if he was talking to a terrified animal. "Ah, if it isn't the other basterd child of Bruce Wayne. Tell me how does it feels to know that if your nepotism wasn't taken into account, you would be just another pawn in Al Ghuls game. Stupid and replacable." (Y/N) spoke in a knowing tone. No anger in sight, only a smirk on their face.
They have watched the batfamily for years. They knew all the ways to get under their skin and prod where it hurt most.
Damian's face fell into a look of shock. (Y/N)'s words hurt in a way he had not felt since he first came to the manor. He felt the fear of being useless and replaceable. He dropped the clothes and left the room with a mortified face as (Y/N) started to laugh manically.
After Damian left the room, the Joker seemed to appear before them. As if a god. "My dear child, I am dead now, but soon I will find someone to take over. And when that is over, I will find you, and we will make the bat regret taking you away from me. My darling child." The Joker claimed. (Y/N) find with joy began shaking their head rapidly in agreement. "Of course, dad! They'll never know what hit em!" (Y/N) said and started laughing.
-----------------‐-----------------------------
In the batcave
"Their mental capacity seems to be dwindling. They've begun hallucinating. The best course of action would be to start over. I would recommend you get in contact with Martain Manhunter." Tim told Bruce after watching you on the screen. Tim had been watching you since the moment you were brought home. There was something comforting about knowing exactly where you were at all times, no matter what. "Let's wait another day. We don't know what reproductions there might be for doing this to them. If it would even work. You saw what happened with their arm. Their healing ability could stop it from even working!" Stephanie argued, not wanting to lose anymore of you. A broken you was still a masterpiece in her eyes. It showed everyone your hardships and would be used as a reminder to them about how they affected you and your life. No matter how rough you were, you and she didn't want to lose you again. "We'll wait one more day. If they continue to break down like this, we will have no other choice." Bruce stated. "But for now, we will just have to wait and see"
-------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, sorry for the wait. College has been kicking my ass and Comp has been making me not want to write anything. Hope you enjoy it! Remember, I am always looking for ways to improve.

The fact that they put all of this in a minigame makes me have hope that they're going to expand upon this relationship and era in act 3. It doesn't make sense to just drop this info in the middle of the season when it currently isn't tied t anything in the story.
Can we as a collective talk about how in the picture, Felicia is touching Silco and is looking at him? They were best friends fr :(( also the fact that he has his hair cut in this picture is very interesting...but vander looks the same like how he did in the flashback. The idea that they were still this close together when the betrayal was not far away- this makes me wonder which project was completed first: ep 5 or Jinx Fixes Everything? If the ep was done first then maybe the game is retconning the episode a bit. But if the game was done first then that means the game was accurate and the show deviated from canon.
ALSO im thinking heavily about how these items were in a safe. Most people put items in a safe for two reasons: to protect them from the world or to hide them from the world. When we think about that, it makes us wonder which one was Silco. Where these items separated from everything else because he treasured them or because he saw them as weakness? At first i felt very uncomfortable that Silco would keep the song disc away from Jinx. Why would he limit access to one of her favorite songs? But then I remembered that before it one of her favorites, it was one of their favorites. Felicia, Vander, and Silco. Silco probably has it locked away bc he doesn't want to be reminded of those times or perhaps it's just too personal to be played at random. Im sure whenever she wanted to listen to the song, he would let her, considering she knew exactly where to find the disc and knew the code to the safe.
What do you mean Silco kept a framed picture of himself, Vander, and Felicia in his safe in his office!?!?
Tumblr media
What do you mean his diary that he keeps in the same safe has an excerpt where he thinks Felicia's brave for having a child in their world and inspired by it!?!?!

Why is this in a minigame?????!!!?

Jihoon is gathering all of the presents that lie around discarded gift paper and decorative boxes. Some jewelry and clothing, a few gift cards, some PR packages from various companies, and the cute, custom decorated guitar case you got him make up the haul of birthday gifts that he now has to find a place for in his room. He places each item back in its original packaging carefully, enjoying the silence. It wasn’t a huge party or anything, just his members and some producing friends of his that stopped by to drop off gifts and give well-wishes. But still, when you invite 12 rowdy boys and your mischievous girlfriend to a party, things will get loud.
Now, with everyone gone, it’s finally quiet. Well, almost everyone is gone, and it’s almost quiet. Jihoon’s thoughts are interrupted by giggling in the corner followed by loud shushing. He looks over to see you and Soonyoung whispering to each other in the corner. Conspiring. Jihoon doesn’t have a good feeling about this. You and Soonyoung are giggling quietly and whispering to each other. You hit Soonyoung lightly on the shoulder after he says something and winks. Jihoon’s eyebrows furrow; he’s very confused about what the two of you could possibly be talking about that, apparently, he wasn’t allowed to know.
You turn your gaze to see Jihoon is staring with a confused and cautious look on his face. You say something, and Soonyoung turns to look at Jihoon as well. Then, you both smile. It’s a wide grin that is somehow sinister to Jihoon. He winces under your gazes. Soonyoung starts to move toward him and you follow. You get up close to Jihoon where he stands next to the coffee table piled high with birthday presents, and you cuddle up to his arm while Soonyoung faces him.
“What?” Jihoon says to break the silent anticipation that’s only making him more nervous.
“We have a surprise for you,” Soonyoung starts. Jihoon instinctively tries to back up, but is anchored by you holding onto his arm.
“One last gift for your birthday,” you add. It doesn’t surprise Jihoon that you guys are up to something together. You and Soonyoung are a lot alike. You are both outspoken when you need to be and wildcards in most situations. You are both chill enough, though, that you can be comfortable with minimal effort. You fit easily into Jihoon’s comfort zone, and you know exactly when to bring him out of it. He needs you both in his life to balance him out.
But when you two get together, it’s a double dose of crazy for him that’s usually scary in the beginning, but when he gets used to the idea, ends up having a very good time. This is one of those situations; Jihoon can feel it.
“It’s not gonna hurt, is it?” Jihoon asks earnestly.
You chuckle at the sweet question, “No…” then you pause, “Well, maybe just a little, but you will like it so much.”
You start to walk, still holding onto Jihoon’s arm, leading him to his bedroom. Soonyoung follows along, pushing gently at his reluctant shoulders to keep the train moving along. Once you all get in the room, you sit Jihoon down while Soonyoung closes the door. Jihoon is so nervous, he thinks he hears the click of a lock sounding when Soonyoung turns back toward you guys to join you sitting on the bed.
“Don’t look so nervous,” Soonyoung laughs and gives Jihoon a friendly slap on the back.
You take his hands in yours and look him in the eye. You start talking slowly, “We were just wondering…” you trail the sentence and look deep into his eyes, “if you wanted to have a threesome with us. For your birthday.”
Jihoon lets out a deep sigh. He was holding his breath for so long that he doesn’t remember when he started. He doesn’t know what he was expecting, but it’s just a proposition for sex. Sex! He’s done that. He likes that. And he’s done it with both of you at the same time before: A wonderful night in a hotel, coming out of being tipsy, horny, and surrounded by his girlfriend, the most attractive girl in the world, and his best friend, a pretty damn handsome guy.
“Oh, thank god,” he breathes, now cracking a small smile. “Yeah, that sounds like fun.”
Jihoon reaches over and places a hand directly on the crotch of your pants. He’s leaning in to kiss you until you move his hand from you to hold it. He looks in your eyes, confused, and you smile sweetly at him. A little too sweetly.
“I know you usually focus on me, but it is your birthday, Ji. We want to focus on you.” Your voice drops to a sultry tone for the last part of the sentence as you lean over to kiss him. Immediately, you get his mouth open and your tongue finds its way all over his. The kiss is a simple spark that gets Jihoon going. He’s hungry for it, distracted by it. So distracted, he almost doesn’t fully register what exactly you said.
A hand from the other side of Jihoon reaches for the crotch of his pants. It’s Soonyoung rubbing at his cock through his black joggers. It’s a surprise. Jihoon opens his eyes, but doesn’t disconnect from your lips. He looks down and sees Soonyoung working at his drawstring. You disconnect from Jihoon panting, trying to catch your breath. Your hand finds where Soonyoung is pulling at Jihoon’s joggers to get them down. You snake your hand to rest over his underwear which causes him to mewl.
Jihoon turns his gaze toward Soonyoung and is met with his hooded eyes. Sometimes, he does look like an apex predator, ready to sink his teeth into his prey. He leans into Jihoon; he looks like he’s going in for the kill. He captures his lips in a hungry kiss as his hands work Jihoon’s pants down his hips and legs. You move down in front of them to situate yourself between Jihoon’s legs. Your warm breath tickles against his clothed cock. Jihoon shivers at the feeling and scoots forward toward the stimulation.
Your mouth meets his underwear, leaving wet spots on the bulge of his shaft, head, and balls. He gets harder and harder under your care while Soonyoung continues to strip his freshly caught prey; his hands have found the hem of Jihoon’s shirt and trail up his stomach to his chest, pulling the garment up with it. Soonyoung pauses for a moment just to tweak a nipple and hear Jihoon gasp into their still roiling kiss.
You watch as Jihoon’s shirt does finally come off and Soonyoung’s hands are all over him. He pushes Jihoon’s shoulders down until they reach the bed where he can mount the smaller boy, capturing him in a trap of a kiss that just gets hotter and hotter. You take this progression as a good sign to finally remove the obstructing piece of clothing in front of you so that you can do some real work. Your fingers hook into Jihoon’s underwear and quickly slide them down his legs, exposing his fully hard dick standing proud. From your perspective, that thing looks like it’s a mile long. You eagerly take the tip into your mouth and wrap your fingers around the base. You stroke him slowly, all the way from the base up to meet where your mouth is attached at the tip. Your grip is strong and steady and you suck hard, tasting bits of salty precum that land on your tongue.
Jihoon’s moan is so explosive that his mouth falls completely open leaving Soonyoung licking inside, still hungry. He moves to latch onto the boy’s neck during the moan, feeling the vibrations of a pure voice on his wet lips. Jihoon’s body is just as electrified as a live wire. He jolts and shakes as if his nervous system has stopped its regular functions and needs a good reset. His brain is offline except for the sensation of the absolute pleasure of four hands and two mouths roaming his body and cock until every inch is explored and mapped thoroughly. And both you and Soonyoung are still fully clothed.
You lift your head to smile at him from between his legs, and keep a steady pace with your hand stroking his length. Soonyoung meets your gaze and joins you, placing his hand on the parts of Jihoon’s dick that you can't touch. Jihoon clocks the both of you communicating with just your facial expressions. He surmises that you're still conspiring, and he can’t imagine what the hell else you’re planning to do with him.
“What?” Jihoon whines out this time, propping himself on his elbows. He’s leveling an exasperated look at you then to Soonyoung. It’s like he’s begging to be let in on a secret.
“Nothing, Jihoonie, just sit back and enjoy,” you try to get him a little relaxed about the situation. Truly, he has nothing to worry about at all because you and Soonyoung will be doing all the work.
“You guys are working together against me!” Jihoon breathes out in staggered breaths. Soonyoung’s hand remains on his length while yours travels south to massage his balls. “There’s still something you're not telling me!” he lets out through a groan.
Soonyoung speaks up, “We told you everything, Jihoonie. You are the focus tonight, so we’ll do everything to you. Whatever you want.”
Jihoon takes a moment to let the words soak in. The movement on his crotch hasn’t ceased or slowed in the slightest which scrambles his brain enough that it takes a moment for him to form cohesive thoughts. The angel on his shoulder is telling him to interrogate you and be let in on everything you’re not saying. The devil on the other side is telling him to let himself be surprised, and maybe start demanding more of what he wants. It is his birthday, after all.
“Whatever I want?” He listens to that little devil.
“Yup, baby, whatever you want,” you reply, nodding excitedly.
Jihoon bites his bottom lip before continuing with his one request, “Then why don’t you come over here and… take a seat.”
You raise your eyebrows, “You wanna eat my pussy?”
“I always want to eat your pussy.” Jihoon finally relaxes a little and lays all the way back down, readying himself. You stand up and strip down completely. Your panties are the last things to hit the floor, and you position yourself on the bed, knees on either side of his head and your wetness right above his face. Soonyoung reaches his free hand out and you take it. Now steady, you slowly sink down until you feel a tongue slither between your labia, lapping up all the wetness you had accumulated. You grind down, riding Jihoon. With your hand still in Soonyoung's you give him a silent look then look down at where his hand is still taking its time working on Jihoon’s length.
“Now?” Soonyoung asks.
You nod, “Yes, now.”
If Jihoon were to ask you if you were purposefully trying to tease him with the secrecy and covert plans you and Soonyoung made, you wouldn’t lie. It’s funny to see him a little frustrated, curious, and scared. You would never harm him, but he tends to anticipate the worst. So, this three-word exchange is just another jab at the man currently licking inside of you. Jihoon makes sure you know how he feels about it by giving you a good slap on the ass, never breaking his rhythm. You grind down harder on him in response, hoping to suffocate him.
Soonyoung starts to enact the next phase of the threesome plan. He takes his shirt off which gives you a nice view that makes you a little weak in the knees. You brace your hands on Jihoon’s built chest and continue riding his face fervently. Soonyoung chuckles low in his chest then grabs a little bottle and brings it back to the bed. He takes the position you had assumed, right between Jihoon’s legs. You help him by bringing Jihoon’s knees up while you sink down, your mouth now very close to Jihoon’s cock. Soonyoung is spreading a cool thick substance on his fingers.
Two things happen to Jihoon at the same time. The first thing he registers is a familiar warm and wet sensation on the majority of his cock as you attempt to take the entirety in your mouth at once. You suck hard and make sure your tongue lies flush against it, sending shivers down Jihoon’s spine. He’s moaning into your pussy, now more determined to lick and suck and fuck into it. The other thing hits Jihoon like a brick. A long, slender but strong finger pokes around his hole, massaging around the rim, before it slithers inside and pumps a few times as a test. Jihoon’s breath hitches in his chest. You feel him pause, and you smirk as much as you can with his dick in your mouth.
“Before you protest, Jihoonie, just think about how good it’s going to feel when I find your g-spot,” Soonyoung says, trying his best to diffuse whatever Jihoon must be thinking right now. “I mean, you have a girl on your dick and a pussy in your mouth. I’m just covering all the bases,” he continues to reason. His finger begins to pump in and out of Jihoon like a demonstration of his point.
Jihoon has already made it this far, and he’s stopped long enough that you start wiggling your cute ass in his face waiting for him to keep on going. It’s not like he hasn’t had things inside of him before. He decides at this moment, while his brain runs on pure libido, to trust Soonyoung. When the tongue resumes its assault on your pussy with a long lick from your clit back to your hole, you give a long moan that’s well-muffled by Jihoon’s big cock.
Soonyoung almost watches the wheels turn in Jihoon’s head. He hears him give you the proverbial go-ahead and says, “Good choice,” then he punctuates the words by adding another finger to stretch the hole a bit more. He’s a little jealous watching the two of you have a good time with something in your mouths, so he decides to sink down right in front of you and begin sucking on Jihoon’s balls, his last neglected part. Now that he’s given his two pumping fingers and his curious tongue something to do, he can focus on finding the right angle to have Jihoon completely undone.
Jihoon gasps against your pussy. Soonyoung finds his target and gives only a calculated few more jabs into it before adding a third finger and spreading them apart. The assault continues and all you feel is Jihoon’s deep breathing on your most sensitive region as he inches closer and closer to climax. You lock eyes with Soonyoung who is still working Jihoon’s balls with his mouth. You both listen intently to Jihoon get more and more vocal and then –
Jihoon tries to sit up a little but is only able to move his head around because you have moved to take a firm seat on his chest, pinning him down. He can’t see anything in front of him with your back blocking the view. All of his stimulation disappeared at the same time: no mouths, no hands, nothing.
“What happened?” He sounds desperate. His voice is strained in distress.
“Can’t have you coming too soon, Jihoonie. We’re not done yet,” you say trying to sound innocent. You finally lift yourself from Jihoon’s chest and un-straddle him. Soonyoung reaches for his hands and pulls him into a close embrace. He kisses Jihoon, then you kiss Jihoon, too. The look on his face is adorable. He’s flushed from his denied orgasm, he’s confused by your behavior, and he’s excited for whatever will happen next. You deepen the kiss, and Jihoon allows you to poke and prod around his mouth with your tongue, tasting all of the slick you left behind. You turn him to face you and he grabs your shoulders, then your breasts, then firmly grips your waist.
Soonyoung pulls Jihoon from behind until he’s sitting in his suddenly naked lap with his back pressed flush against his chest. He attaches his mouth to the side of Jihoon’s neck and, in between kisses and bites, says, “I’m going to fill you up now, okay? Will you let me do that, Jihoonie?” He’s stroking his own cock, coating it with the same lube he used to get Jihoon ready.
Jihoon breaks your kiss and sees the grin you have on your face. You're anticipating his answer excitedly, banking on the fact that he’s super horny and has already been denied an orgasm. He grabs your hands and interlocks your fingers with his. He swallows once then a soft, “Okay,” slips from his red, glistening lips. Everything stalls for a beat then he adds, “Please.”
Soonyoung’s hands are gripping Jihoon’s hips and guiding him to sit on his hard cock. Jihoon finds the initial stretch uncomfortable, but he powers through it, glad he was at least prepared thoroughly. His hands squeeze yours to brace for the sensations. Once he’s sat completely, Jihoon gets used to the feeling. He actually enjoys it. It’s been too long since his last real dick. He’s only had access to toys lately, so it feels good to have a real, long, thick, and warm one inside of him. Soonyoung’s cue to start moving comes when Jihoon begins to restlessly squirm on top of him. He holds Jihoon steady and bucks up into him at a controlled pace. You find yourself almost drooling just watching your boyfriend get fucked by his hot best friend. Your rapt by the way Soonyoung just slides in and out with ease.
The air is hot and heavy as pure sex permeates every corner. Somehow, you end up very close to all the action. Jihoon’s moans shake your eardrums while Soonyoung grunts with each thrust. A rhythm is created from the skin slapping against skin. You lean closer and closer to the two boys until you find yourself licking up Soonyoung’s shaft as it’s exiting Jihoon’s hole. Both men are shocked at your actions though the constant sounds coming from both of them do not falter in the slightest. As you kiss and lick the exposed cock, the volume only increases. Your tongue travels up until it reaches Jihoon’s stretched hole. You lick around what you can get to and stimulate both Jihoon and Soonyoung in the process. Your moans come out as hums, but the extra vibration has them going crazy.
You pepper soft, wet kisses to Soonyoung and Jihoon, and Soonyoung’s pace increases. You take a moment to glance at them and see that they are both on the edge of climax. Determined to help Jihoon come first, you take his dick in your mouth and suck it while Soonyoung continues fucking into him. Jihoon’s eyes roll into the back of his head; he’s consumed with the feeling. Soonyoung finds his g-spot and ruts up against it. Jihoon goes silent as he comes into your mouth. His mouth hangs open, and his eyes are screwed tightly shut. He rides out his explosive orgasm with his hands in your hair until he pulls you up to give you a searing kiss. Soonyoung bounces Jihoon on his lap a few more times before pulling out and coming on his back in thick streams.
You watch as the two men slump over, breathing heavy and exhausted from their climaxes. Your eyes are hooded and the fire inside you still burns incredibly bright. You let them have their time to rest, though, you can always take care of yourself later. It’s not about you tonight; you understand that.
There is no way that either Jihoon or Soonyoung would let you go without coming. They both seem to have regained their strength, and they use it to pounce on you, kissing and touching until you, too, have a leg-shaking orgasm. For a while, you all fall and lay back on the dirty sheets, resting. Jihoon is sandwiched between you and Soonyoung and you’re showering him with post-coital praise.
“That was so fun, Jihoonie!” you exclaim, breathlessly. “Thank you for letting us play with you.”
“Yeah, thanks, Jihoonie. You were so good!” Soonyoung adds.
“I should be thanking you guys. I haven’t fucked like that in a while,” Jihoon pants. He leans over to kiss your cheek and releases with a loud smack of his lips.
Soonyoung begins kissing the back of Jihoon’s shoulder and says, “We should definitely do this more often.”
“Shut up,” Jihoon groans half-jokingly.
You giggle at the two boys, “It has to be an occasion again, next time. It makes it more special.”
Soonyoung pouts and moves to spoon Jihoon, huffing about the infrequency of your threesomes, and Jihoon rolls his eyes. You’re all still snuggling in the warm bed, catching your breath. It doesn’t matter that a sheen of sweat covers your bodies, or Jihoon still has remnants of Soonyoung sticking to him, or you have a slippery mess coating your inner thighs. You can always shower and change the sheets, but the feeling of being able to provide something for your boyfriend is the most important feeling right now. You can only imagine what Jihoon is thinking right now, but facing him, you see his eyelids start to fall. He has a blissed out look on his face with a subtle smile gracing his lips. You snuggle close, pulling him into your arms as well resting them under Soonyoung’s. The last thought you have before you let sleep overtake you is just a question.
How the hell am I going to top this next year?

Would it really kill you if we kissed? Final
Supergirl. Baby Danvers. Kara Danvers x B!D!Reader, Alex Danvers x B!D!Reader, Lena Luthor x Reader, Esmé Danvers.
Word Count: 3360.
Previously on part 2. Part 3 of 3 :)
You touch down on the rooftop of your apartment building, the cool night air sharp against your skin, a reminder that you're back in National City, back to the familiar world you tried so hard to leave behind. Once inside, you let your bag drop to the floor, the sound echoing in the silence, and you almost laugh at the absurdity of it—like you thought coming back here would make any of it feel better. But here you are, alone in your apartment, as if you could somehow outrun everything boiling up inside you.
You slump down onto the edge of your bed, and the silence presses in, thick and suffocating. You want to tear it apart, rip through this emptiness just to feel something else, anything else. But all that’s left is the quiet of the apartment against the loud of your raging mind.
You try to remind yourself why you came back—how you told yourself that being away from your sisters, from Lena, would give you space to breathe. But the air here feels no less heavy, and every time you close your eyes, you’re back on that island, hearing your own voice cut through the night,. Every word you threw at Kara and Alex loops through your mind, over and over, until you can barely tell where the anger ends and the regret begins.
And then, there it is, unbidden: the memory of Lena’s smile, her soft laugh, the way her hand lingered just a fraction too long when she’d touch your arm. You wonder what she’s thinking now—if Kara told her what happened, or if she just thinks you’ve vanished, abandoning this one fragile connection you were terrified to admit even to yourself.
You let out a shaky breath, pressing the heels of your palms into your eyes. It doesn’t matter, you tell yourself. You’ve burned the bridge, and you don’t deserve to look back. But the ache doesn’t ease; it settles deeper, a constant reminder that you’ve pushed away everything and everyone that mattered, leaving you with the raw, hollow ache of being completely alone.
The next day, you fly to Midvale, drawn back to the place that’s always felt like home. J’onn and M’gann assure you they have things covered, their gentle understanding a stark contrast to the turmoil you’re carrying. But here you are, hoping that maybe, while back home, the guilt from burning all those bridges won’t feel as heavy.
The moment you arrive, Eliza’s face lights up, her arms open wide for you. “My little girl,” she says softly, pulling you into the kind of hug you didn’t realize you needed. “Wait—I thought you were all off on an island somewhere? Didn’t you go for a vacation?”
"Hmm, yeah. I—I had to come back early because of this… thing." you reply, the words clumsy on your tongue, but she doesn’t press.
Instead she scans your face. Eliza might not be your birth mother, but damn does she know you like one. She can see right through you, and you don't know if you're just that easy to read or if the people in your life just know you deeply.
"Well then, come in. Let's do the thing." She guides you inside the house, and you try to distract yourself with old feelings and memories instead of the new ones.
It's later that day when Eliza settles on the couch next to you, watching you with that quiet, gentle patience she's always had. "You know,” she begins softly, “you’ve always had the heart of a hero.”
“I think you’re confusing me with Kara,” you mutter, eyes fixed on the floor, but Eliza shakes her head, smiling.
"No, I'm not. Kara was always about the big thing—saving the world. But you, you've always been about the little things. Feeding the homeless, nursing birds and cats back to health, getting stray dogs into the house…" She sighs and you bite your lips so you don't smile at the memories. "You didn't even use your powers most of the time."
"Well, if I remember correctly, I wasn't allowed to."
"Oh, like that ever stopped the two of you." she chuckles, and despite yourself, you smile at the memories. "When you two landed here, Kara was mad most of the time. Just angry at the world and I got that, she had every reason. But you were always so kind. A sweet little thing ready to help anything that moved. Oh, and let’s not forget the plants,” she adds with a wink.
“Where are you going with this?”
She breathes deep. "That always worried me."
"What? You worried about me?"
“Still do, sweetheart. You had every reason to be mad too. But you never let your feelings show. You keep so much inside, bottled up.” Eliza reaches for your face, her hand soothing on your cheek, and you lean into the touch you so desperately need. “I don’t know what happened, but you’re allowed to be a mess, to explode, to embrace the difficult feelings.”
You lean into her hand, your eyes stinging. “Well, you might be glad to know that I… finally let it out.”
She nods slowly, eyes full of warmth. “And that’s okay. Just don’t hold on to those feelings for too long. Don’t let them chip away at the good, sweet part of you.”
You nod, her words sinking in as you finally let yourself breathe. Maybe it’s time to start processing all of this without the anger clouding it, without the need to keep defending your heart. You’re home now, and maybe here, you can start to sift through everything, piece by piece, until it hurts a little less.
Over the next couple of days, you stay in Midvale, trying to get your shit together while Eliza makes sure you’re giving yourself the space to feel every hurt, every regret you’ve been holding back. Slowly, you reconnect with parts of yourself you’d almost forgotten in all this mess, while Lena's words take root in some deep place inside—a place that cannot simply be brushed off or resolved, only managed.
You're not alone. You have to stop being alone.
When you finally feel ready, you head back to National City, determined to face the aftermath of your choices. The first thing you see when you walk into your apartment is Kara—waiting for you. The sight of her feels like a punch to the gut, all the words you’d left unspoken swirling around in your mind.
"Kara!" You manage to squeak out, your heart racing. "You're—you're back!"
Kara lets out a small sigh, her shoulders slumping as if the weight of your words has landed squarely on her just now. "I can't believe you said all those mean things and just... left us to sit with them."
You look down, biting the inside of your mouth, your heart tightening. "I know. I'm sorry. I—I guess I couldn't handle you being disappointed in me."
Kara’s expression softens, her gaze finding yours. "I would never be disappointed in you," she says quietly, stepping closer until she’s just a breath away. Her voice holds a warmth that reaches past your defenses. "I just don’t understand why you went so long without telling me any of this. Why would you keep it all to yourself?"
"Because I was afraid," you admit, the words coming out barely above a whisper. You clench your hands together, holding back the wave of emotions threatening to spill over. "Afraid to lose you. To lose everyone, actually." Your voice shakes, and you blink hard, forcing down the tears currently burning your eyes. "I can’t lose you, Kara."
Kara reaches out, her hand gentle as it lands on your shoulder. "You’ll never lose me, Y/N." she murmurs, her voice filled with an honesty that you can’t ignore. "But I don’t want you to feel like you’re losing yourself just to be my sister, or some idea of what you think I need you to be."
You breathe in, taking in the truth of her words, letting them settle into the cracks you’ve been trying to ignore. "It’s just... it’s exhausting, Kara. Trying to keep up with you and everything I need to be. And it hurts. All of it."
"I never wanted you to feel like that," she says, her voice filled with regret. "I thought we were doing this together. But now I see, I was so focused on how much having you by my side helped me, how much I needed you, that I didn’t think about how it felt for you."
You meet her eyes, finally allowing yourself to let down some of the defenses you've built up. "I didn’t know you needed me, I just felt like I was just fading into the background. Just the other hero, the one who's supposed to fit into your world. I didn’t want you to feel like I was letting you down."
Kara’s thumb traces gently along your cheekbone, wiping away the last of your tears. “You’ve never let me down, and you were never just another hero.” Her words are like a balm on a wound that’s been aching for too long. “Maybe I got so used to you being my strength that I forgot to let you lean on me too. But you’re not just my little sister or my backup out there. You were never second best to me. You’re everything good that I wish I could be.” Her voice wavers, a crack slipping through her steady tone. “I’m sorry that I haven’t always shown you that. And I’m sorry I made you feel like you had to be someone you didn’t want to be.”
The raw honesty in her voice, the way her words strip away the last remnants of the defenses you’ve held, reaches deep inside you. You take a shaky breath, nodding as the fear that’s held you silent finally dissolves, leaving only the truth between you.
"I guess things will change a little if you really want me there."
"Oh trust me, knowing you're there with me it's what makes me like supering so much." Kara’s hands cup your face softly, grounding you in this moment. “And Rao, Y/N, I’m not in love with Lena. I never was, and I never will be. And even if I was…” She pauses, her gaze unwavering. “I would always put your happiness above mine.”
“Don’t say that,” you whisper, your heart clenching.
“It’s true. You mean everything to me. But also—Lena’s just my best friend. I love her, but not like that, okay?” Kara’s voice is gentle, pleading. “Please, do something about it. You deserve to be happy with her. You’ve held back for so long, and I hate that you felt you had to.”
A small, trembling smile breaks through as the weight of everything you’ve been carrying finally lightens enough for you to throw your arms around your sister, pulling her into a hug that’s been building since this whole thing started.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you and pushed you away,” you whisper, a smile breaking through the last of your tears. “I missed you every day.”
“I missed you too.” Kara’s voice is soft, and you can hear the smile in it—a warmth that melts away the tension in your body, easing the ache you’ve been holding onto. The closeness, her arms around you, feels like the piece you’d been missing all along.
For a moment, you both stay like that, wrapped in the quiet, finally able to be vulnerable without walls, without all the unspoken weight between you. In her arms, with her smile in your ear, the ache doesn’t just ease—it starts to heal.
Kara places a soft kiss on the top of your head, her arms still holding you close. “Now go. Go talk to Lena.”
You pull back slightly, hesitating. “Are you sure? Are we… good?”
Her smile is gentle, warm. “I think we haven’t been this good in months. So yeah, I’m sure. Go to her!”
Your heart swells, and you lean in, pressing a grateful kiss to her cheek. “I love you,” you murmur, the words carrying more weight than ever.
Her smile widens, eyes shining. “I love you, ie.”
With that, you take a steadying breath, feeling stronger than you have in a long time, ready to face whatever comes next. And next is… Alex.
You knock on her door, expecting to be greeted with anger, but instead, you’re met with a soft, “Hey! Come on in. We’re still unpacking!”
“Auntie!” Esmé jumps onto your leg, her face lighting up with joy as you scoop her up and plant a smooch on her cheek, earning a delighted giggle. “Where were you?”
“Oh, I went to visit your grandma.”
Alex glances up from her bag, raising an eyebrow. “Did you really go to see Mom?”
“Yep.” You set Esmé down, and she dashes off, following Kelly's call to help organize her room—basically code for leaving you and Alex alone.
“So I don’t have to go full mom on you?” Alex asks, crossing her arms playfully, and a smile tugs at your lips.
“Guess not.”
“Good.” Alex steps closer and places a gentle kiss on your forehead, her warmth soothing. “Sorry I didn’t keep your secret.”
“No, Alex, you were right. It was eating me alive. I don’t know how I didn’t explode earlier. I’m sorry for making you feel guilty; you are the perfect big sis.” You offer her a soft smile, genuine gratitude flowing between you. “I’m glad I finally got it all out in the open.”
Alex reaches for your arm, her touch reassuring. “Feel better now?”
You nod. “A bit guilty from all the yelling, but yeah. I guess I needed that. It’s like the weight’s been lifted.”
“Have you seen Lena yet?” she asks, her expression turning serious.
“No. Just Kara.”
“Alright then. Thanks for stopping by. Don't leave without saying goodbye to your niece again. And go confess your feelings to Lena, or I swear to God, I’ll tell her myself.”
You narrow your eyes at her, half-serious. “Just because this worked once doesn’t mean it will work again.”
“Hmmm, I’m pretty sure it will.” she says with a smirk, a glimmer of encouragement in her gaze.
You give her balcony door a soft knock, peering in to see Lena by the couch, a drink in hand, looking more tired than before the vacation. Her bag still sits half-unpacked nearby. At the sight of you, she scowls but heads over, unlocking the balcony door and stepping aside for you to come in.
“Hey, Lena,” you offer, voice soft.
“Don’t ‘hey Lena’ me,” she snaps, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. “I’m mad at you!” She turns abruptly and heads toward the kitchen, leaving you standing by the door, unsure whether you should follow. “How could you? We were all excited to spend time with you, to finally have you around without your lame ass excuses, but you spent most of the time there hiding behind a six-year-old, and then you just got up and left without a word!”
“Lena, I’m so—”
But she doesn’t let you finish. “Did I not deserve a goodbye? Do I really mean so little to you?”
The hurt in her voice strikes deep, and you take a step closer, the words tumbling out before you can stop them. “No! Lena, you mean everything to me! I just… I couldn’t face you. Not with everything I was feeling.”
She finally turns to look at you, her eyes sharp, a blend of anger and pain. “Then tell me. What was so unbearable that you couldn’t talk to me? Because I was there baring my heart open to you. And you —you just left me! You left us! What's the point of a family trip if you're not even there?”
You swallow hard, heart pounding as you force yourself to meet her gaze. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. You're right, I never should've left."
"Of course I'm right!" Her hands turn into fists, angry bubbling up and you let her have her outburst, because now you understand how important they are. "I tried everything, Y/N. I begged you for your time. I tried to have you open up to me, but you just kept shutting me off! You've been shutting me off for months now, and God, what did I do to you?” Lena’s voice breaks. “What did I do to deserve it? Why do you hate me now?"
"I don't. Lena, baby, I could never hate you." You force yourself to come closer even though you are terrified of her reaction to what you're about to say. "I actually love you so much, I was scared of the feeling."
"What?"
"I love you, Lena. I've been in love with you since the first time I saw you."
Lena’s expression falters, the anger flickering into surprise, maybe even shock. She stares at you, words failing her as she searches your face, as if trying to decipher if she heard you right, if you’re serious. The silence stretches thin, and for a split second, you’re sure you’ve gone too far, that you’ve finally broken something you can’t fix.
But then, slowly, Lena’s shoulders drop, and a softness replaces the tension in her eyes. “You… you love me?” she whispers, her voice barely more than a breath.
You nod, a shaky exhale leaving your lips as you finally let the words settle into the open. "I love you. I know it might seem impossible after how I acted, and I know I messed up by pushing you away. But, Lena, every single moment, I’ve been in love with you. It was just… easier to hide than to risk losing you over it.”
"God, you're—you're infuriating, Y/N Danvers!" She grabs the collar of your t-shirt with surprising strength, prompting you closer. "If you didn't spend all of your time running and hiding from me, you would see that I'm also in love with you!"
“You are?” you almost stumble back in shock, but she’s holding you so tightly that you barely move. “You really feel the same?”
"Yes, darling.” Her tone is suddenly so sweet and soft, and yet she doesn’t let go of you. “I really do feel the same. Now you already made me wait for too long, so… Would it really kill you if we kissed?"
Your heart races as her words sink in, the weight of her admission filling the air between you. You stare into her eyes, searching for any hint of doubt, but all you see is warmth and a fierce determination that makes you feel like the only person in the world.
"It might kill me if we don't."
Without a second thought, you close the distance, your lips finding hers in a rush of pent-up emotion. The kiss is electrifying, a fire that you both had been trying to deny for far too long. Lena’s hands release their grip on your collar and tangle in your hair, pulling you closer as if she’s afraid you might vanish again. You melt into her, relishing the sweetness of the moment, the soft taste of her lips awakening every nerve ending in your body.
When you finally pull away, breathless, Lena’s eyes shine with a mix of mischief and sincerity. “See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
“Actually, I was terrified.” you joke, and she rolls her eyes at your antics.
“Well then, how about another kiss to make you feel less scared?”
You laugh, the sound bubbling up as you lean in again, savoring the sensation of her against you, the way her lips move with yours, the warmth radiating from her body. In that moment, the past feels like a distant memory, and all that matters is this connection between you both.
As you pull back, breathless and smiling, Lena’s gaze is intense, filled with promise. “You’re not going anywhere this time, right?”
“Never again.” you reply, your heart full of certainty. “I’m right where I wanna be.”

i have something to say as well about this actually. i love female ocs. i have been writing with them since i first started on this fuckass website. i have a ship with a good friend, their female oc, that has been going on literally since i think 2014. as a community, we are awful to female ocs. i watch them get ignored, shamed, sent anonymous hate. i made a blog for a female oc many years ago and i remember deleting it after a week because the dynamics were nonexistent. i really admire anyone and everyone who has a female oc, and they deserve all of the love. please know if you have one you can always, ALWAYS write with me. ship with me too, baby!
on a similar note, i have been writing lesbians on this website for a long time. and there is a very significant difference in interactions when it comes to writing men and writing a lesbian.
the moment i put the word "lesbian" on my bio or character page, interactions drop. people do not want to write with me.
it's better now than it used to be, but still, i get male characters refusing to follow me, because we can't ship. i had an incident many years ago where i found out one of my close rp partners was sending anons to my elsa blog asking "why are you playing her as a lesbian". i've gotten anon hate for it. i've gotten bullied for it on discord and rpc spaces. i've had MULTIPLE male muses send me shipping memes, ignoring my info. once had, god forbid, a writer ask if their male character could be an "exception".
and like to consider myself a fun, flexible writer. i love all kinds of dynamics with all kinds of people. i am not here to write only ships. and yet, i know, the moment i make a new blog and write the word "lesbian" in my character info, that i WILL get less interactions than i would if they were straight.
i've come to accept it, citing both the internet and the rpc as a male-centered space, but really, i don't think i should have to accept it. i think we should have that conversation. why are we so male-centered as a community that we shut out muses who aren't interested in shipping with men?
let me add as one final note: i am eternally grateful for all the dynamics i've reached on this blog. i have many rp partners with male muses who have created interesting dynamics with me, and who love me and rio, and i really fucking appreciate that. please don't take this as a slight at anyone who i follow. so far, writing on rio's blog has probably given me the best overall experience so far in writing a lesbian muse on this website. i just think this warrants a conversation.

Honeybuzz helps the three star-blessed apprentices.
[Image ID: Honeybuzz, Weevilpaw, Wolfpaw, and Anchovypaw watch Estherfern talk with a Dark Forest spirit. Under Honeybuzz, it says + NEW SKILL: GOOD TEACHER.]
---
Honeybuzz cupped his paw around one of the many plucked mushrooms that formed the unholy circle. He sniffed at the herbal mixture that sealed the pickings together. A few strands of black and red fur clung to the wet earth that lined the edges of the muddy den. The constant rain of the last four days made the ground slick and sent water dripping from the root-lined ceiling. Anchovypaw, Wolfpaw, and Weevilpaw stood outside the den, heads close together as they peered inside. The rain glued their pelts to their skin.
“And you’ve known about this for how long, Anchovypaw?” Honeybuzz asked. He absently batted at his wooden necklace, the freshly plucked cicada wing glistening with raindrops. He pointedly sat outside of the circle, mud sinking into his thin fur.
“Only a few days,” Anchovypaw admitted. “I didn’t want to say anything until I could come back here, but there’s even more ichor here than there was when I first found the den.”
“You should have told us sooner,” Weevilpaw huffed with a glare so sharp that, had she had her sister’s ability, Anchovypaw would have frozen stiff.
“I wasn’t going to scare anyone if I didn’t have to!” Anchovypaw huffed. A sharp flick of his tail sent a stream of water flying over Weevilpaw and Wolfpaw’s backs. “It could have just been where the beast that killed Weedfoot went to die. I only waited a few days! It took me that long to get away from Halibutdusk!”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Honeybuzz promised. He squeezed around the apprentices, squinting as the rain splashed his eyes.
“Now we know someone else has been here,” Wolfpaw pointed out.
“What is it, Honeybuzz?” Weevilpaw asked. She moved further into the den, eyes locked on the circle.
“You remember my lessons on channeling StarClan?” Honeybuzz said, shivering. “It exhausts power StarClan wasn’t planning to use, but the immediate and physical communication can justify an absence of subtle signs and assistance.”
“But we don’t use mushrooms,” Weevilpaw said. She poked at a mushroom, making it roll out of its spot. “We form a circle of cats, not plants.”
“But do you remember when you met Terracottafoot?” Honeybuzz sighed. “I asked them to tell you about last Harvest Moon, and some of their knowledge of the Dark Forest. Newtstream, their mentor, taught them about channeling Dark Forest spirits using a circle of mushrooms.”
“Someone’s summoning Spirits of Shadow,” Wolfpaw gulped.
“Who would be that mouse-brained?” Anchovypaw growled. His claws left gouges in the mud. “We all remember the Shardling. Who would want to bring something like that back?” Anchovypaw looked like he was going to be sick. Wolfpaw rubbed against Anchovypaw’s side. “You were right, Weevilpaw. I should have destroyed this den as soon as I found it.”
“Then they would have made another one,” Honeybuzz pointed out. “No, we need to find a trusted warrior to watch this den. They can wait until the culprit visits again. Waspdawn or Puddlewhisper would do well. I trust them.” Weevilpaw’s soaked fur prickled. Her eyes widened, locked on something Honeybuzz couldn’t see. Her mouth dropped slightly, breath catching.
“Out, out!” Weevilpaw hissed, lunging past Wolfpaw. She scrambled into a thick bush, still bursting with summer life. Wolfpaw and Anchovypaw were instantly at her side, following her into the shadows. Honeybuzz stumbled in after them, sharp branches poking his ribs.
“Who did you see?” Anchovypaw whispered just as the shrubbery on the other side of the dark den shifted. Bicolored eyes glimmered through the mid-morning haze.
“Estherfern?” Honeybuzz gasped as the older cleric stepped into full view. Estherfern carried a ball of fur in her jaws, the same red and black colors Honeybuzz found in the strange den. Her fur on her cheeks drooped like heavy leaves. She strolled into the shadows, ignorant to her spies.
“The Shardling almost killed her kits,” Anchovypaw growled, his rage making the leaves shake. “Why would she deal with the Dark Forest?”
“Keep listening,” Wolfpaw whispered. “We might find out.” Estherfern placed the furballs in the center of the circle. Her cool gaze settled on Weevilpaw’s disturbed mushroom. Honeybuzz grit his teeth. Estherfern carefully nudged the mushroom back into its original position. She sat in the den’s entrance, back to Honeybuzz and the apprentices.
Estherfern declared, “I call upon the spirit of Hawthornstealer, banished from StarClan for murder in the name of his kits. Despite your sins, your assistance is required. Return to the Clans, if only for a moment. Speak to us.”
“Do you see that?” Anchovypaw whispered, pressing into Weevilpaw. “Do you see that?” Honeybuzz squinted. The circle was still. Suddenly, Weevilpaw gasped. She bit into her paw to muffle her shock. Honeybuzz braced his heart for whatever the star-blessed apprentices saw.
It began as a shift in the mud, like water in a pot at the first stages of boiling. The ground around the fur offering darkened. Black sludge bubbled out of the mud and lapped up the fur balls like medicine. The sound of its formation reminded Honeybuzz of paws trapped in thick gunk, pulling out of the mess with a sucking slurp. It leaked from under the mushrooms and collected in the circle’s center. The ichor pulled itself upward like drops of water falling from the ceiling, perverting the pull of the earth. A subtle red glow illuminated the den.
“It’s finally working,” Estherfern gasped as the ichor took shape. It lifted itself high like a cat arching their back. It clung to the ground at four points that slowly took on the details of paws. A claw-like tail sprouted from its back. The ichor bubbled and bulged into a muzzle. Two glowing red eyes erupted from the spirit’s face. StarClan help them all.
“So you are Estherfern,” the spirit said. Its voice was as sticky as the mud from which it was born, dissolving into the sound of the tumbling rain.
“Hawthornstealer?” Estherfern asked. The spirit blinked slowly, its eyelids like a mudslide.
“Why do you call?” the spirit groaned.
“Oilstripe and Lavendertwist told me your story,” Estherfern explained. She inched closer, back still stuck in the rain. “You killed an elder to ensure more food for your kits in a famine. You would have done anything for them. StarClan doesn’t seem to have the power I need. I’m hoping you can help.”
“Explain.”
“My kits are sick, and RippleClan can do nothing to help them. One of my daughters is going deaf, the other is half-blind. And now my only son has issues of the head, issues the mediators are simply bandaging, not fixing.” Was she talking about Brightpaw? Spikecrash had asked Honeybuzz and Troutpool about any relaxing herbs the young tom could take before the Gathering, something to ease the panic that overtook him when too many cats surrounded him. It was manageable. There was no need to resort to such extremes.
“You are searching for a cure.”
“I can’t let them struggle like this. How can I fix them?” The spirit stared at Estherfern silently, the rainfall burning into the background of Honeybuzz’s mind. The only sign of un-life in the spirit rested in its long, slow blinking. Even Estherfern, collected as she was, twitched under the spirit’s unending, blank stare.
“I…,” Anchovypaw whispered, “I don’t think that’s the ghost of Hawthornstealer.”
“Why not?” Wolfpaw whimpered.
“It’s too empty,” Anchovypaw groaned, struggling to find the right word. “Weedfoot’s stories said Dark Forest ghosts looked like themselves. Even the Shardling looked a little like Autumnstar, isn’t that what Downstar told us? This thing doesn’t look like anyone. It looks like a shadow."
“We may have the power,” the spirit finally coughed through its thick ichor. “We need help.”
“That’s what I expected,” Estherfern sighed. “What sort of ritual do I need to perform? Is there another spirit I should talk to?”
“Your children were destined to develop these afflictions,” the spirit gurgled. “Their destinies must be replaced. Replaced with another’s.”
“Elaborate.”
“The eyes of the clear sighted.” The spirit’s red eyes shone like a flickering fire. “The ears of the cautious listener.” Its pointed ears flicked, their first movement since the spirit’s arrival. “The tongue of the charmed.” Its black teeth peered out from muddy lips. “Three sacrifices. Three kits.” Estherfern stilled. Honeybuzz’s heart sank. Despite her standoffishness, despite her argumentativeness, Estherfern was part of the Clan, her kits were part of the Clan. How could she throw that away to fix what didn’t, what couldn’t be fixed?
“We’ll stop her before she begins,” Anchovypaw growled, inching a paw out of hiding. StarClan asked for Estherfern. Why would they send for her if she could be swayed like this?
“Offer the dead—”
“No.” All four hidden cats perked their ears high. Estherfern stood, tail rippling slowly as she stared the spirit down. The spirit, to Honeybuzz’s continued shock, flinched.
“No?” the spirit spat.
“What do you take me for?” Estherfern scoffed. “You think I’m so blindly devoted to a cure that you can turn me into a murderer? A sadist for the sake of my children?”
“You want them cured,” the spirit growled. Its paw lingered at the edge of the circle. “This is how you cure them.”
“And what happens when I do?” Estherfern asked, tilting one ear in a shocking taunt. “I know how your land works, the rules of your afterlife. They will go to StarClan some day and learn what I did for them, if they do not find out in life. They will despise me for what I have done.”
“But they will be cured.”
“Furthermore, I know the creatures that inhabit your Dark Forest.” Estherfern walked around the circle like a hunter. The spirit never turned its head, face stuck in a sneer. “It is the home of murderers and scoundrels. I would surely arrive there after my own death were I to kill three innocents for you. You would condemn me to eternity without my children.”
“You’ve already been damned, Estherfern. You brought forth the Skin N’ Bones that slew your deputy. You are the cause of your Clan’s suffering. Do you believe StarClan will forgive you for that?” A Skin N’ Bones. Of course. Nothing else would have injured Downstar like that. Nothing else would have devoured Weedfoot alive. Estherfern stopped. The calculated and callous look that always hung in her eyes cracked. Honeybuzz could almost see Estherfern’s soul drop. “Why give up now? You’re too far gone. Your children are not. Why summon us if you were not willing to do whatever it took to fix your kits?”
“I will not have them hate me!” Estherfern rounded on the spirit, lips curled tight. “I will not have them curse my name!” She shook her head low. “I will find a different cure for them. I will find another way. I send you back, spirit, back to your dark wanderings, where StarClan’s light does not reach.” Estherfern reached for one of the mushrooms. Her paw breached the circle.
“No!” The spirit dug its fangs into Estherfern’s paw. Ichor dripped into her fresh wound. She pulled back, ripping more of her skin in the process.
“I respect what you did for your kits, Hawthornstealer,” Estherfern hissed, licking her paw. “I realize now, however, that where you could put aside your kits’ emotions for their futures, I cannot.”
“We,” the spirit growled, voice dissolving, “are not Hawthornstealer.”
The spirit’s legs melted like snow. Its form dissolved and splashed about in a massive sticky pool. One by one, the mushrooms rolled into the ichor and vanished under the writhing mass as though falling into a great black hole. The ichor bubbled and squirmed as though in a death rattle. It leaked from the confines of the circle and coated the den floor. Estherfern backed up, back paws slipping on the soaked grass.
Weevilpaw raced out of the bush before Honeybuzz could react. She threw her full weight into Estherfern’s side. The two clerics tumbled into the shrubs. In that moment, the ichor exploded. It sprayed the walls of the dirt den and shot into the rain in an endless cascade. More ichor escaped the den than could have possibly made up the spirit in the circle. As it flew into the forest, large clumps tumbled to the side like wayward drops from a massive wave. The glops tumbled and sloshed against the wet ground before launching through the trees and out of sight. More and more of these glops scrambled away until finally, finally, the spray slowed. A long black trail led out of the den, which was now nothing but ichor and goop.
Honeybuzz, Anchovypaw, and Wolfpaw crept out of hiding as Weevilpaw got off Estherfern. Mud coated half of her brown pelt. The ichor stunk like rotting flesh and mushrooms.
“How long have you been there?” Estherfern asked, slow to her paws.
“Wolfpaw, you might have to freeze me,” Anchovypaw growled, claws out. “I’m a whisker’s length from killing her.”
“Anchovypaw, no!” Weevilpaw stood in front of Estherfern, paws skidding. “She didn’t want to hurt anyone. She was trying to help her kits. We can’t blame her for that!”
“But the Dark Forest…” Wolfpaw gulped. With the puff in her fur dissolved in the rain, she seemed half her size.
“It is full of dead cats, not unlike StarClan,” Estherfern huffed. She stepped around Weevilpaw and faced down the furious crowd. “All I wanted was a way to cure my kits, something you’ve shown you cannot do.”
“Estherfern, you weren’t talking to a dead warrior,” Honeybuzz groaned, almost stepping on the ichor trail. “That was a Herald. Their entire purpose is to trick the living into allowing Spirits of Shadow into the territories.” His gaze lingered on the forest. He could almost hear the half-formed monsters slurping across the grass, taking their true, cursed forms.
“You heard her!” Weevilpaw huffed. “She wasn’t going to listen to the spirit. She was going to destroy the circle.”
“She didn’t commit murder,” Anchovypaw scoffed. “You did well, Estherfern. You did the bare minimum.”
“Is it your fault?” Wolfpaw muttered, voice almost lost in the rain. “Did you get Weedfoot killed?” Estherfern stared into the ichor-soaked den.
“I didn’t know,” she said softly.
“She didn’t know, Anchovypaw,” Weevilpaw snapped. “She’s a good cat!”
“She didn’t care about killing anyone, she cared about what her kits would think,” Anchovypaw growled. “How can we trust a cleric who doesn’t care if you live or die?”
“I trust her,” Weevilpaw huffed, pressing into Estherfern. “Even though she’s strange.”
“Weevilpaw,” Honeybuzz sighed, jumping over the ichor, “take Anchovypaw and Wolfpaw and go back to camp. Just go to the medicine den and wait for us.”
“What are we going to do with her?” Anchovypaw asked.
“Leave that to me,” Honeybuzz said, shaking his head. “Now go. Stick together, and hurry. We’ll follow you soon.” The apprentices hesitated, all glancing at one another. Weevilpaw was the first to break; she joined Wolfpaw and nudged her onward. The sisters ran toward the coast. Anchovypaw followed, his burning eyes digging into Estherfern as he vanished into the foggy trees.
“It seems I underestimated the vigor of the Dark Forest’s supernatural entities,” Estherfern hummed, cleaning the mud off her injured paw.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?” Honeybuzz hissed softly.
“Of course I do,” Estherfern snapped, curling her lips. “You love to tell the story of the Rippling Ashes. They ventured into the Dark Forest, they had Newtstream’s advice. What made my own approach so wicked?”
“Because it’s dangerous!” Honeybuzz groaned. “Because channeling Dark Forest souls, even when they want to help, clears a path for Spirits of Shadow, and they don’t care about any of us. They’re born to hunt. This isn’t worth it.”
“If your kits were sick, wouldn’t you do what you could for them?” Estherfern growled with a large thrash of her tail. “You can’t fix them. I thought the Dark Forest could.”
“They don’t need to be fixed!” Honeybuzz yowled, throwing his whole height up to glare down at Estherfern (who, unlike Rapidleaf, would not cower). “They aren’t dying, Estherfern! They can adapt! I’m sorry I can’t cure Thunderkit or stop Brightpaw’s anxiety, but they’ll be fine!” As Honeybuzz yowled, the first crack appeared in the sky, striking through the gray clouds. Thunder echoed far overhead. Estherfern stared at the growing storm.
“What’s out there now, do you think?” Estherfern sighed.
“Dog-cats, forsaken prey, honeybites…” Honeybuzz muttered, spine itching. “There may even be monsters we rarely see, ones we don’t have names for. We don’t want to know everything that’s out there now.”
“This is something we can fix,” Estherfern huffed. She marched around Honeybuzz and stood on the roof of the wicked den. Jaw tight as her bit paw moved, Estherfern dug at the soaked grass. Her pelt was more mud than fur. Chunks of earth tumbled into the den. The sopping ground folded in on itself like a wave. Estherfern rolled away as the roof of the den fell and covered the sticky, stinking ichor. Grass stuck to Estherfern’s underside. Honeybuzz hurried to her, helping her away from the crumbled remains of her sins.
“We can,” Honeybuzz gulped. “We can fix this.”

---
Estherfern didn’t belong at such a lively celebration. The sumptuous food, the well-rehearsed performances… Harvest Moon was as grand as RippleClan claimed it to be. Every Clan gathered as the sunrise poked through the trees, preparing their stews and games and performances. But it was a holiday to drive off Spirits of Shadow. What good would it do to have their herald nestled in the safety of the firelight?
“Spirits of Shadow hate charms,” Troutpool explained as she tucked a cat’s wood-carved face into the boughs of a low-hanging pine. “AshClan spends a lot of time carving these trinkets, and all that care under StarClan’s protections makes them especially useful in warding off danger.” All the clerics roamed the edge’s of the great clearing with baskets of charms and other concoctions to protect the five Clans. Estherfern carried RippleClan’s heavy basket as Honeybuzz, Troutpool, and Weevilpaw prepared the defenses to Troutpool’s instruction.
“How many do we have to place?” Weevilpaw asked, shoving a charm as far into a bush as she could reach.
“We’re covering this entire corner,” Troutpool explained. “We don’t want to leave any openings for spirits.” Estherfern nearly broke the charm in her jaws with how tightly she grit her teeth. She quickly passed it to Honeybuzz.
“Estherfern!” Two figures slipped through the massive crowd. Spikecrash and Sandpaw walked side by side, mentor and apprentice in sync. Sandpaw’s gaze wandered throughout the clearing, taking in the sights of all five Clans for the first time.
“You want to speak to me?” Estherfern asked. While her tone made her question sound casual, the brown priestess hid her surprise deep. She didn’t talk to many cats outside of the medicine den. Why would two of the Clan’s mediators want her? Did they know the real reason why Honeybuzz reported a surge of spirits in the Clan? The reason it was too dangerous to leave camp alone? Why all five Clans, not just RippleClan, now had a newfound fear for their lives? Had Honeybuzz not lied for her, Estherfern would have told the truth and accepted the consequences, yet why he kept it secret, Estherfern didn’t know She glanced at Honeybuzz, but the young gold and white cleric focused on his charms.
“I’m hoping we can borrow you,” Spikecrash explained. “Troutpool, do you still need Estherfern’s help?”
“We’re just placing our wards at the moment,” Troutpool explained, reaching into Estherfern’s basket. “We could finish without her if you really need her.” Estherfern carefully slipped the basket off her neck.
“Thank you, Troutpool,” Spikecrash sighed. She flicked her tail for Estherfern to follow. It seemed no one cared if Estherfern actually wanted to speak with Spikecrash, but who was she to refuse? She trailed after Spikecrash and Sandpaw, heading over to the ovens. Clammask and Stormpaw worked with Drumtooth and Thunderpaw, laughing over an unheard joke as they tended the fire under a massive pot of stew.
“I hope this isn’t too much of an invasion of privacy,” Spikecrash began, her scarred flank lifted high in a long stretch. “Honeybuzz and Weevilpaw spoke with me a few days ago and said you were having some difficulties with your kits.” Estherfern narrowed her eyes.
“If we’re going to discuss my kits,” she sighed, “maybe you could tell me why no one told me about Brightpaw’s meetings with you?”
“So you do know about that,” Spikecrash sighed. “Brightpaw is an apprentice now, Estherfern. We aren’t pressured to tell you anything he didn’t want you to know.”
“If he’s sick, I want to help him,” Estherfern huffed.
“Why do you think he didn’t want you to know?” Sandpaw scoffed. “Look how you acted with Wolverinepaw and Thunderpaw.” Oh if only he knew just what Estherfern had done for them. What the Dark Forest wanted her to do.
“I’ve only ever tried to help them overcome their own limitations,” Estherfern said, her sharp stare ricocheting off Sandpaw and muting his confident words.
“That’s why we wanted to show you a few things,” Spikecrash explained. She waved a paw toward the oven where Thunderpaw and the other RippleClan cats gathered.
“The only goal of tonight is to have a better stew than WheatClan,” Drumtooth explained, shooting a friendly sneer at WheatClan’s oven and their large pot. He licked the surface of the stew and smacked his jaws. “It’s good, but it’s missing something.” Thunderpaw copied her mentor. Her face squirmed, thinking hard. She then made a strange motion with her paws; balancing on her back legs, she brought her paws close to her mouth and wiggled them as they moved away.
“I know this one,” Stormpaw chirped, completely focused on Thunderpaw. “If the wiggles are the sea… seaweed! That’s seaweed!”
“Yes!” Thunderpaw squealed. The two young apprentices cheered and giggled at their success, bunting one another
“AshClan borrowed our basket of seaweed,” Clammask explained, nudging Thunderpaw. “Grab some for us.”
“Grab seaweed,” Thunderpaw laughed. She quickly swiped the air like she was dragging a mouse out of hiding, then made the ‘seaweed’ motion again. Stormpaw mimicked the dragging motion as Thunderpaw hurried to AshClan’s oven.
“Why is Stormpaw learning Clan-sign?” Estherfern asked her mediator companions.
“Because Thunderpaw’s teaching her,” Sandpaw chirped. “Whenever Thunderpaw gets back from her sign lessons with Mummichogleap, she practices with us apprentices. Most of us are learning a few words so Thunderpaw isn’t left out.”
“And you want to learn?”
“Thunderpaw makes it fun!”
“You can’t expect the whole Clan to learn this second language.”
“No one does.” Spikecrash touched her tail to Estherfern’s shoulder.. “But there are cats who want to make the effort. They can translate for those who don’t know. It puts pressure off Thunderpaw. She can miss what someone said, but she’ll have friends and family who can let her know.” Thunderpaw trotted back to the oven with a few long strips of seaweed. Clammask tore the seaweed into stew-sized chunks, showing the apprentices how to curl their paws just right. Thunderpaw seemed… happy.
“Now if you’ll follow us over here…” Sandpaw purred, strolling around the Leader’s Stone. Estherfern followed, tail a bit higher than before.
Brightpaw, Ravenpaw, and Vervainpaw sat with a gaggle of apprentices from the other Clans. They lounged about, chatting and laughing. Brightpaw nodded along to an apprentice’s story, his flank stretched out like frog legs. Ravenpaw relaxed on top of him, oohing and awing over the tale.
“I don’t know what your birth place thought of disorders of the mind,” Spikecrash whispered, brushing against Estherfern once more, “but like most disabilities, you can learn to live with them. There was a great gathering of warriors and codekeepers here at the new moon, do you remember? Brightpaw managed to befriend these apprentices during the visit. They invited their friends and littermates to chat today, and Brightpaw is happy to spend time with them. His mind is likely lying to him right now, but he knows ways to manage that. He could overcome his anxiety naturally some day, but that’s a minor part of who he is.”
“I know that,” Estherfern huffed. “He loves to play with Rabbitjoy’s paint supplies. He’s sensitive, and loves his sisters with all his heart. I’ve only ever wanted to help those traits shine.”
“That’s not how Brightpaw sees it,” Sandpaw scoffed under his breath. The comment hollowed out Estherfern’s chest. Before she could respond, two brown blurs shot past the Leader’s Stone with a horde of apprentices and young warriors at their tails. Wolverinepaw and Yarrowpaw led the crowd to an open spot within the festivities. They studied their followers like leader and deputy, the sunrise framing their profiles.
“We’ve got until after sunhigh to prepare!” Wolverinepaw cheered.
“Are we going to let some dusty old bones beat us?” Yarrowpaw cried.
“No!” the young crowd yowled joyfully, already shoving and jumping over each other.
“Let’s show them what the new generation can do!” Wolverinepaw called. Her followers cheered, yowling to the high branches. They scattered throughout the clearing and split into sparring groups. They steadied their stances and wiggled their flanks. With sheathed paws, the youth of the Clans launched into training, trading blows and careful bites. Slushpaw lingered near the edge of the training grounds, cheering the others on.
“Slushpaw!” Sandpaw yowled to the older mediator apprentice. “What are they doing?”
“Well,” Slushpaw laughed, trotting up to Sandpaw, Spikecrash, and Estherfern, “Yarrowpaw and Wolverinepaw were arguing with Darkkick and another old warrior about what was a better trait in a fight; youth or experience. Suddenly all these other cats started joining in, and now the senior warriors are going to have a big mock-battle with the apprentices, plus some warriors who haven’t attended a Harvest Moon before.”
“And Wolverinepaw’s participating in this?” Estherfern huffed. She searched for her daughter in the crowd. She found Wolverinepaw rolling about with Yarrowpaw in the middle of the mess. Yarrowpaw shoved Wolverinepaw’s head into the dirt. Wolverinepaw snapped her jaw around Yarrowpaw’s leg and pulled her onto her shoulder. Yarrowpaw laughed as Wolverinepaw took her place on top of the older apprentice.
"She's as capable as any apprentice her age," Spikecrash assured Estherfern.
"She seemed so insecure during her ceremony…" Estherfern muttered.
"Wolverinepaw?" Spikecrash chuckled. "I don't think so. From what I've heard, she thinks she's strong enough to take on an actual wolverine."
"She didn't choose a role in time, though," Estherfern pointed out.
"Because she wanted to do everything!" Slushpaw laughed. "I talked with her right up to her ceremony. She had a new role in mind every day!" Oh. Had Wolverinepaw's sight not come up at all? Surely her decaying vision would make it hard for her to fight. Yet she kept up with Yarrowpaw, tumbling across the clearing with abandon. Had Estherfern's kits always been so sure of themselves? Surely they wanted cures. How else could they survive in a world that showed no mercy to the weak? In the cat-minded human's den, if you couldn't match up to the others, you wouldn't eat. Three of Estherfern's brilliant kits would have died in that awful place. Except…they weren't there anymore, were they?
"Can I guess what's been going on?" Spikecrash asked. "You've been so focused on a cure in their future, you've ignored how they are in the present. When's the last time you talked to them about something, anything but their health? Have you talked to Foampaw or Boughpaw at all?" Estherfern glanced from one kit to another. Their faces glowed with holiday glee. Did they ever glow around Estherfern anymore? When was the last time she shared a meal with them?
"Spikecrash," Estherfern muttered, her pride burning her words, "I need you to teach me something."
A short time later, Estherfern approached Thunderpaw and the RippleClan stew. The bounties of the ocean danced in the broth, specially prepared for that oh so exciting celebration. Thunderpaw stared eagerly into the stew while Stormpaw and their mentors talked with other caretakers. She spotted her mother and her eyes grew big and calm, mimicking Estherfern's eternally serene expression. Estherfern's heart did not carry that serenity as she approached her bold daughter.
"Do you need…" Estherfern said hesitantly. She awkwardly sat on her hind legs. She held out one paw, pads down, and angled the other on top of it, claws out. Thunderpaw's eyes sparkled at the sign.
"Help," she whispered as Estherfern quickly returned to a natural position. Thunderpaw made the sign with ease, quickly hopping from her hind legs and back. She ogled Estherfern, her thoughts not caught up to reality.
"I want to spend time with you," Estherfern explained. It felt like someone carved her pelt off, leaving her exposed. "I want to share your stew with you and your littermates." Thunderpaw blinked slowly. It took her so long to reply, Estherfern was about to repeat herself, just in case her pounding heart muffled her words.
"Do you want to learn the sign for littermates while the stew finishes cooking?" Thunderpaw gulped. The tip of her tail twitched wildly as her earlier joy bloomed across her face once more.
"If it means time with you," Estherfern sighed.

I've been wanting to write this thing because I think there is recently a trend of spreading rumors and canards against Thomas accusing him of so many things without any solid proof. Some of them are very easy to disprove, but others are easier to buy especially if you're predisposed against him, so I needed to make this writing to clear out some of these things that have blatantly been invented to hurt Thomas.
One, the most serious one, the pedo allegations. Some people say that Thomas started dating Leo when Leo was 17. For starters, there is no solid proof of Leo's age at all, that old site, famous birthdays, is famously unreliable, but if we take that data as truth, Leo was born on January 23, 1994, so now he would be 30 years old. Thomas and Leo never ever recognized to be in any relationship, they always called each other, both of them, best friends, they shared an apartment together and they have always been on good terms, even now Leo participated in the production of the Yours video. Even so, there's absolutely not a single photograph of them together previous to April 2012, when Leo was well over 18, an none of these photos feature them in any romantic attitude. They're just pics of two friends having fun together as the best friends they both have always claimed to be, and even in the case they had dated, they were both legal consenting adults, so it wouldn't be our business to say anything about them, especially when both of them remain in good terms and with a solid and close friendship. Plus Thomas said that he was dating one of the military guys in one of the Vines where, while he's waiting for the bus, he invites a group of soldiers to play Pokemon cards, he filmed that Vine during one visit to his boyfriend over there, and that was in 2013-2014, disproving any relation with Leo at the time.
With this said, this accusation, that was brought up back in 2016 by that old crappy group of aphobes that wanted to destroy Thomas for defending ace people as part of the LGTBQIA+ community, falls down like a house of cards. The same group that, remind you, showed some pics of Thomas supposedly grooming two teenagers in some thespian competition... the teenagers were Joan and Kyle, two of his long time best friends, but they hid their faces in an effort of trying to pass them as strangers, a futile effort because the original photo was available for everyone. They also asked what was he doing going around children in a thespian competition... not knowing perhaps that in 2012 Thomas was working as a substitute teacher in that school (remember he's a chemical engineer) so it was only natural he was there to guide people wherever they had to go. From a people as unreliable as this one, believing any other accusation from these people is being purposefully gullible for the sake of hatred, I say.
Second, some people claim that Joan left the Foster Dawg team on bad terms with Thomas and that Joan wouldn't work for Thomas anymore. This one is so easy to dismantle, because just a few weeks ago, Joan appeared in a phone prank video (with Leo, nonetheless) and has appeared in several Patreon livestreams, as funny and witty as always with Thomas, Talyn or both, also, Joan participated in the production of the Yours video, editing the color ambient, you can check it in the YouTube description where the credits are featured. And also, Joan is about to record with Thomas many Director's Commentaries for Sanders Sides videos for Patreon. For someone who is in bad terms with Thomas and wouldn't work with him again... that's a lot of participation in his projects, isn't it?
Here's the reality: Joan and Talyn had to leave Florida because of Talyn's health condition worsening. Talyn needed to go somewhere with a colder climate, as Florida's warm and humid weather was damaging for Talyn's cronic disability, which had already forced him to drop his work on Sanders Sides as makeup artist, which he *loved* doing till the end, as he said in a YouTube vlog, shortly before leaving Florida, he said he hated having to leave Sanders Sides. Joan and Talyn moved to Vermont in the nort of the country, near to the border with Canada, where the weather is much colder and, also, people is so much more accepting of trans people. There was where Talyn finally started transitioning as male. Joan at first tried to stay on Sanders Sides directing Thomas remotely, they filmed together several episodes and participated on the writing of the show up until Working Through Intrusive Thoughts, but the distance and Joan's desire to start new projects of their own made him decide to leave the team. It was never on bad terms. Joan and Thomas are still best friends. Joan has returned with Talyn to visit Thomas on Florida many times, and Thomas has gone to Vermont to see them once. Thomas and Joan still as good friends as always and whoever said Joan was on bad terms with Thomas is simply lying to spread discord and doubt. Don't pay attention to them, they're lying.
This one is more recent as it comes from the most recent video. There's this claim going out that the thumbnail of that video was made with AI and criticized Thomas for disrespecting artists with that choice. For starters, there's no solid proof that the thumbnail was made with AI, and secondly, claiming that it was without proof is disrespectful, not to Thomas, but to the thumbnail author that was credited since day one in the YouTube description of the video: Lev Ettinger. How do you thing Lev is gonna feel if he sees these claims accusing him of using AI for the art? Is that the way they try to protect artists working for Thomas?
About other things related to how he manages his business, it's not our place to tell Thomas or anyone how to manage their own business and their own property. Thomas already has a management and legal team that takes care of that stuff. It's already hard enough for Thomas to try and create content that is attractive and fun for us, and that's the only thing he should be focusing on, working-wise, not the drama that some people want to stirr because they just hate him for some reason, or simply because they enjoy the drama, there's people like that too. I'm not against honest criticism, but I'm not buying any of it if it comes from a place of lying an manipulation. In any case, I finish this long but important text with these words: "May fortune protect us from "cizañeros" (as we call bad faith manipulative gossip mongers in Spain) you never see them coming but you can see all the destruction they cause when you look behind you, if you can see past the dagger in your back."

BIGNONIA
Masterlist
Tumblr media
That’s why I always like to have a plan B ready to be executed, most of the time.
“Y/N.” I still heard my name in the distance. “Y/N!” All I had to do was speak, I know that. “SISTER!”
But I ran away.
“WHAT?” Collin raises his hands like he surrenders.
“Jesus! I've been calling you for 3 minutes. Breakfast is ready.” He closed the door of my room, not before sticking his tongue out.
I bluff, closing my eyes and scratching my forehead, looking at the calendar next to my bed; a week already.
In the kitchen mom is serving juice as dad is taking his coat, the cold wind of the morning is increasing.
“Y/N, darling, do you mind…” I nod, Collin and I are in charge of the purchase for the game of this night.
“I got it.” She smiles, kissing my cheek, as Collin lifts his cheek for a kiss, but mom just smiles at him, patting his hand, laughing as she keeps walking.
“I hope when I come back on my first holiday I receive at least one kiss.” He screams giggling, taking the plates to the dining room. “You left two months, not a year.”
He left the plates and went to hug me tight, shaking me side to side. “But we missed you like hell.”
I giggle as I see the drops of jam now on the floor. “Ok, ok, you’re messing up my pancakes, move.”
Collin laughs as he kisses my cheek too. “You better text me like always, I’m a big guy now, but you're kind of special.”
My days passed like usual, just like I've been working all those years; from a distance, keeping updated Lilian, but in a few days we made so many changes.
Gael was in charge of the florist’s for a couple of days until Lilian contacted the woman she already had been talking to before I offered to go, and she agreed right away after all it only will be three weeks, until she goes back.
“Grandpa likes these ones, right?” I point the glass donut through the cristal.
“Yeah. I'll take two of them.” He pointed to the chocolate one. “Do you ever tell me?”
I lift my eyes from the counter. “Tell you what?”
Collin saved his phone in his pockets. “One week ago you were happily in the middle of a big game, then on Wednesday night, you arrived home with your bags.”
He remembered something before I spoke. ‘Ah! And with a squidward pumpkin in your hand, that is still in your room!”
The girl who is attend us gave me a box of donuts, I sigh and softly kicked him with my feet.
“I arrived a couple of weeks earlier, GOD! Why must there be a reason behind that?” Collin takes the boxes of my hands, bluffing.
“Ok, you have that but, Y/N, you are terrified of seeing your phone.” He points to my back pocket. “It's been 10 minutes with the lighter on.”
I turn it off, just barely seeing in case I missed texts or calls from mom or Lilian.
“I'm not terrified, it's a detox.” Inside of the car Collin opens his eyes.
“Someone did something to you?! I'll ki…”I chuckled, grabbing his hand and calming down.
“NO! Collin your imagination, it's working too much.” I engine the car, if I want him to be calm I must give him something. “I need to be at home, and keep work kind of far away.”
Collin rolls his eyes. “Hey, take charge of something you didn’t even dream of and you'll be drained.”
“Are you sure?” I nod, stopping in the red light.
“I'm fine, give me a couple of days and I'll be me, one more time.”
After all, I didn't lie to him, just keep the truth short and concrete.
When we arrived home, dad and mom were laughing as they got inside of the house with dirtier clothes and bags of charcoal.
“You're fast.” Dad said getting inside.
Mom stops for a second at the door. “Honey, you have a package.” Collin points to himself. “No, my other honey.”
I cleared my throat, winking at him, as he got inside with things we bought.
“It's in your room!” She screams as I get inside walking upstairs.
On my bed there is a small box; Lilian already told me she planned to send a small present, it could be useful for Collin in college.
“Where are the beers?” Collin asks on the frame door as I open the box without putting so much attention. We forgot the beer.
He reads my face like a book and giggles. “Let's go.” I put aside the package but he shakes his head
“Don't worry I'll go with dad.” He said before going downstairs.
Where is the little kid who refuses to leave my room if there is a package on my bed?
I look inside the box where there are a lot of yellow papers that cover another small box, inside of that a crystal ball, like the christmas one, just this one has a small bignonia inside of it.
A nice detail of Lilian.
I called her right away. “Hey, it’s beautiful, thank you so much, he will love it.”
“What?” I heard her excuse herself before the noise disappeared.
“The crystal ball.” I giggle, repeating one more time.
“I don’t send anything.” I narrow my eyes, and see the andress on the box, yeah, the address is from the floristi’s.
I tilt my head smiling. “Come on Lilian, the address is from the florist’s.”
Lilian stayed in silence for a couple of seconds. “Oh, it must be Gael, he asked me your address a couple days ago, he said a package arrived for you in the florist’s so he would send it to you.”
“Ok, am, I’ll call you back thanks.” I hang out quickly, but if my suspicions are correct that kid will be in trouble.
I move side to side from my bedroom waiting for Gael to pick up but it’s the second time he didn’t.
I sit on bed one more time watching the crystal ball and my phone at the same time, that brings me flashbacks of that day, one more time.
After Joe whispers, all fade away in a blink, I technically take my eyes off him and all the people surrounding me are already gone.
He tried to talk to me, but I feel so overwhelmed and observed that I panicked, I raise my hands every time he tried to approaches to me or speaks to me; when I recover the enough energy to make a movement I turn around as he keeps calling me, it only make it worse because as I tried to leave the stadium with a nothing more than Joe Burrow calling my name a lot of eyes were on us.
Thankfully as we stepped outside of the stadium people who were there or passing by when they saw him, ran to him asking for a photo or autograph.
Inside of the cab, I realized that I didn’t know where I was supposed to go.
I found myself in front of Mr. McNeill house, in panic and a constant buzz of phone due to Joe calls and text, after acting in the worst way I could do it.
After a long talk and an endless cup of tea, Mr. McNeill words were enough for me to definitely run away.
<I told you my little girl, sometimes comes into our door.>
I called Lilian the next morning trying to explain something I didn't fully understand but as I told her I realized about my own feelings.
I fell in love without doubt. The talks on the florist’s, the nights when even he looked tired he waited for me to close, the encouraging words and support when I was about to give up, the laughs, the details, it’s him being him.
I took the first flight to Carolina where Lilina was waiting for me, we explained to Gael something urgent came up and the instructions he must follow.
Like we expected, he called Lilian that Monday morning, Joe was at the florist’s and he said he needed to talk to me. Lilian took charge of that.
Just as Colline said, I arrived at my house on Wednesday night, defeated and embarrassed about my behavior.
“Darling?” I didn’t even notice my mom. It's at the door looking at me with suspicious eyes. “Do you mind giving me a hand?”
Shit, I shake my head trying to get rid of these toughs, as I stand at the door, mom stops me and caresses my hair.
“Everything is alright?” If I speak, she will know something is in my mind, I just assent. “Is that what are you waiting for?”
She sees the box over my bed.
“Yeah, it could be.” Both of us smile going downstairs where in a couple of minutes my grandparents will come.
Gael answered me until Monday night, he said in his defense, <The poor boy looks so frustrated and overwhelmed.> How he can not do a few favors, besides Joe paid everything, he called it, a spare to a five star customer.
“Will you use your boxes?” Collin asked, looking at his phone with his test in his hands, he’s a genius in chemistry, and his A+ in his exam on his lap is just a small way of teasing me about how bad I was in that grade.
I just picked up Collin from school. “What boxes?” He's helping in a collection for Thanksgiving, I must say, he’s helping the girl he likes in her collection.
Collin bluffs. “Come on Y/N! You have a pile of small boxes in your room. It's a recycling collection, help you little brother a little bit.”
That’s the favors Gael refers to, every two days a same little box came from the florist’s, by the third box I refused to open it, in all of them a small crystal ball with that bignonia of different color.
“I thought mom gave you like 20 empty jars, two days ago.” I parked in front of our house.
I went back to my routine from work at home and helped mom with her small business of candles.
“She did, and I already took them, but… it’s all for a good cause.” I laughed seeing my brother so nervous.
I stop outside of the car, seeing him to the other side. “Why is it so hard to invite her on a date?”
He fakes a big laugh. “You think I don’t think about it?”
“Well…” He lends his head on the top of the car.
“I tried, believe me, but it’s like when I see her all fade away. I can play cool, yes, but I’m literally fighting for not melting on the ground.” His words leave me thinking more than I would like.
“I’ll empty it for you, can I give it to you tomorrow night?” Collin faces lights on and nods.
That night after all were in their rooms, I put my 9 boxes on my bed. I take my time to open them one by one, like I suspect, each one has bignonia of different color all in a small crystal ball.
“It will last at least two years, they are under a special process that makes them last.” That’s what Lilian told me, when I asked her how I was supposed to take care of them.
I grab one putting over my forehead, unintentionally shaking trying to put my thoughts in order, as I open my eyes, a soft light comes inside of it, I shake it one more time and turn it off.
He remembered, being alone in the dark makes me feel quite uneasy.
“I’m crazy.” I whisper, opening my phone and his chat, which was archive.
And endless photographs of the most random things, like his morning milkshake disaster until a photo of the score of the game of last game, they won.
>I’m sorry, let’s talk about this face to face, ok? I’ll be in Cincinnati in a couple of weeks.
That’s all I could send that night, observing the crystal balls on my bed and the soft warm light that comes from them.
“She’s cute right?” Collin said with his eyes stuck to the window, a blonde girl who’s taking note of all the things they’re collecting is waving her hand to my brother.
I gave him the empty boxes the next morning and offered to take him to deliver it, and without saying give him a little push.
Or at least that’s what I tried because the girl took a step ahead, inviting him for a coffee.
I didn’t even know since a month ago, he’s the main contributor of this collection.
I smile at the girl and my brother, what a scene. “Where do you collect that much?”
Collin's face turns red. “Mom, dad, you, grandma and my friends.”
I laughed when the engine started; we must be home by dinner, with a happy Collin in the passenger seat.
“All I’m saying is he could find another way, that was so predictable.” It’s the third time Collin complained about the missing touchdown of the 49ers in the third quarter.
“Collin, Purdy had like 5 big guys over him, how could he do that?”
As we enter the house, my dad finds us in the hallway with a smile that practically covers all his face.
“You’re in trouble!” He grabs Collin by the shoulders as he points to the backyard.
I look at Collin who raised his shoulders. “Go!” Dad pushed me.
I barely reached to avoid a crash with my mom who has a red face.
“Do you kn…” She shook her head and pushed me to the backyard, didn’t even let me finish my question.
“You’re crazy people.” I shout as I practically sway in the door of the backyard. “There’s nothing here.”
But I swallow my words when I see in our small “living room”, stand rubbing his hand on his tights to the guy I have treated awfully, Joe Burrow.
He only whispers, hi and it was enough for me to take a step back, one more time.
“Sorry, sorry, it's not you, believe me, it's not you.” I cover my eyes and take a deep breath.
“I'm sorry, I don't tell you anything, it's just… I thought in a thousand ways to tell you but… I simply couldn't do it.” I feel my heart squeeze and remember Collin's words.
“No please, no.” I look him into the eyes. “It's not you. I got through a lot of things in a couple of months that I never paid attention to my feelings, don't take me wrong, I'm so happy for Lilian but I was overwhelmed and well, an abrupt confession no confession took me out of balance.”
Joe closes his eyes and presses his lips together like he's preparing for the worst.
“So, all these weeks after treating you in the worst way I treat someone who's only nice with me, I take my time to realize my own feelings.”
By the time Joe opened his eyes I'm standing in front of him, making him blink.
“I like you too. I already told you, I'm not good with this but give time and who knows I could be pr…”
Joe kiss me.
He leaned on giving me a kiss that left me blank. A calming kiss.
Joe smirks and his rich boy laughs are slowly becoming my favorite sound.
“Whoa.” I nod slowly, pressing my hand against my lips.
I turn around, the living room is empty and knowing mom as I do, she probably has locked down Collin and dad in their room.
“I'm sorry, but I have to use my last 3 seconds of bravery.” Joe chuckled as he put his hands on his waist. “Y/N, I like you very much. Could you go on a date with me?” He gives me a towel. “I'd like to take things slowly but with you all can happen in a blink.”
I grab the towel and cover my face. “Is this one of the last time?”
Joe nods. “You have to see it to understand.” I see a classic towel from a game, the logo of the NFL and the team. “To the other side.”
I turn it around and I see it, a small red heart. “I planned to speak with you and give you this but the guys understood I already talked with you; the talks in the locker room could be kind of messy.”
“Thank you, I feel worse now.” I joke, scrunching my nose, covering my face with the towel.
“I mean, yeah, it would be nice if you wait but this is so much better.” I roll my eyes before seeing him one more time. “I was able to add some extra details.”
I choke my head. “Do you like flowers?” I giggle as I nod.
“Suits you one more time.” A bignonia represents tenacity and perseverance, things that scream Joe Burrow.
Lilian on multiple occasions told me about the feelings she had being with Jason, always resume in… <We create our own world just being next to each other.> I don’t know if this is what she means but right now it feels like that.
With Joe eyes on me, I feel I could lose in the moment.
“My mom went crazy when she saw you right?” Joe giggles and bites his lips.
“A little bit.” He makes a funny gesture with his eyes, a sign that my mom probably freaks out.
“So, it’s my bye week, I'm hoping to relax and spend time with my girl.”
I grip the towel tighter. “Your what? I’m sorry but I haven’t said yes.”
Joe kissed me one more time. “Jesus and your three seconds of bravery.” It’s amusing.
One more kiss. “Ok, ok, ok.” And one more. “I’ll go!”
His idea of a date turns out in 4 days of dates; every time he comes to my house I bet Collin screamed deep inside as me the first time I met him.
Mom and dad act more comfortable by day two, at the end of the week they look more calm and cool around him.
And Sunday after watching the game where the 49ers will bring back the win against the Cardinals, my family is relaxed around him.
“Thanks for receiving me these days Mrs and Mr. Ivory.” Joe said to my mom. “I had wonderful days.”
“Please Joe, feel free to come anytime you want.” Mom smiled at him.
“Like he isn't in the middle of season.” Collin claimed, winning a small pinch of my mom.
“Bring the container of the table Collin.” Dad giggles pushing him softly to the kitchen.
“Thanks for coming Joe. I guess we'll see you next week; from far away, but see you.” Dad looks so excited.
I tilt my head. “What?”
“It's Thanksgiving. Joe…well, Bengals will come to play.” Collin said, giving the container to my mom. “Duh!”
“Right! I forgot.” Collin was about to keep mocking me but mom caught that tricky eye, taking a step ahead of him.
She gives the container to Joe. “I don’t know if you can eat more of this but I notice you like them very much.”
The container has her mini tarts, Joe ate a lot of them last night. “Have a good flight Joe.” Dad added shaking his hand too.
“Thanks Joe for the talk, it’s really helpful.” Collin has something to say for the way he sees me. “I bet that my sis…”
Mom pulls Collin inside of the house with an apologetic smile rolling her eyes. “Take care Joe.”
I shake my head giggling. “I guess that means, I won’t have any chance to see you, right?” He said looking down the hill, my house is set in a classic hill with a lot of curves on the way.
“On the other hand, you probably will see me.” Joe opened his eyes. “Dad bought tickets for that game, a way of recreating old moments. He used to take Collin and me to Thanksgiving games, until we became older enough that our schedules didn't fit.”
“At least I see you there.” Joe clicks his tongue. “On the opposite team.”
I laughed, seeing his tricky eyes. “It’s a familiar lineage, sorry.”
“I know, I know.” He rolls his eyes, that gives me an idea.
I walk searching one of the small benches on the porch. “Wait a second.” I go up on it.
“Do you mind giving me a hand? I feel like I'm going to fall.” I extend my hands.
Joe walked until I was standing with narrow eyes. “You’re strong, right?” He nodded with a curious smile on his face as I laid my hands on his shoulder.
Even standing here, I’m 2 or 3 cm shorter than him.
I’m crazy, that’s what I am.
“Extend your arms.” This time he tilted his head with the same curious eyes. “Just do it.”
Joe extends his arms, at that moment I jump right to his arms taking him by surprise but with a quick reaction he holds me as my legs surrender his torso grabbing me by my thighs.
“Unexpected.” Joe smiles as I feel my face heat.
“It's a big hug for the trip and for the one I won’t give you next week.” I untangle my legs to get down but he easily puts it on around his torso, one more time.
“Are you that sure that I won’t get a hug, huh?” Joe giggles.
“You can put me down, it was a small thing I wanted to do.” But he didn't move, instead he kissed me, longer than usual.
“Yeah, this way you’ll probably need to lean down a little bit from the stands?” I look at him with open eyes. “What? Is a small thing I want to corroborate; the way I’ll kiss you after winning that game.”
I mumble a few words as he smiles at me. “Now you’re confident?”
Joe threw his head backwards laughing so hard. “I’ll be so damn near to perfection.”
“I hear a bet?” I said, faking an offended expression.
“Let's bet.” Joe smirks.
“You can put me down.” I untangle my legs but he refused to let me go.
“It works for my curls, keep talking.” I laugh, putting my hands on his shoulders
I look into his eyes. “Ok, let’s do it.”

Our usual. Those words bothered her in a way she couldn't identify, maybe because there was a usual. A routine of sorts that had developed between the two. She would have to correct that, as much as she was kidding about finding him a girlfriend while he was gone, she'd have to consider doing it to make sure that would break this up. He wouldn't be able to hang out around her office all the time if she set him up with someone else to occupy his time with. Though for some reason, it made her a bit sad that he wouldn't be around as much once she did.
Tumblr media
Sipping from her coffee, she noticed the way he bit his lip and raised a questioning eyebrow. What was so funny? but she dared not ask glad that he had changed the topic to his case. "Hmm. I'm sure with you they'll have their shit solved in no time. Just need someone that knows what they're doing. Thanks," she made a sound between a clicking of her teeth and a sigh as she thought about it. "I don't do divorce things, never have but I don't know. I felt bad when she came to me, I was her last resort. He's a cop and making her life hell," shrugging she put her mug down" Time to make his one." Thinking it over for a moment, she put the cinnamon sugar back in the cupboard and finished off the coffee as it was. "Hmm," was the respond she gave as she listened to him tell her about his allergy. Genetic. Well that sucked.
"Please don't." She held her hand up. She loved Dolly, the thought of her barking until she ate made her anxious. "I do eat," she began to say a bit faster than usual as she came up with a lie. Words spilling faster than they ever had before out of her. "I just haven't gone grocery shopping. I usually have a lot of food around, fruit too, this case just has taken a lot of my attention right now. Please, don't have her do that. I'll be eating a lot when she's here after this disposition I'm going out for groceries." Hoping that it would be enough to have him drop the matter.
"Oh, thanks." The words were said with surprise. Someone had to find comfort in it. There were times when it couldn't lull her to sleep. When it would bring the nightmares on instead of help. "You didn't have to do that but thanks. I'm glad you were able to get comfortable."
There he went again, we. That is where we're gonna go. He was so sure in including her, like it was a guarantee that it was happening and she would be a part of it. "It sounds lovely." She didn't want to add that it would be a shame that she wouldn't see it, seeing as when he got back, she'd have him occupied with a shiny new person when he returned. That was neither here nor there, no one would miss her once she got her replacement hired and the office fully up and running. She would once again be that person someone vaguely remembered once. "Wildfire," she repeated with a smile. "Now that sounds like a horse that would definitely kick me."
As much as she thought about getting rid of him from her life, when it was time for them to part now she felt the odd sensation of missing him already. Shaking it off, she nodded. "Great, I'll be waiting. And you have my word," she held up three fingers on one hand, despite never having been a scout. "I'll walk you out, gotta unlock the door for the Holden's anyway." Though he had tucked one side in, she couldn't help it, just like last night, and reached over and tucked the other side in too. "There, even. Better." Holding the door open for him, she gave him a small smile. "Have a safe trip and again thanks for letting me borrow Dolly for the week. I'll watch over her well. Promise. "

As if to give her confirmation he merely nodded his head and chuckled. "Gotta choose your words wisely around me. I find loopholes." Wally kid just enjoying his time with her in her kitchen. "Gotta admit this is quite a change from our usual. I actually like it." Shaking his head he didn't want to inconvenience her. "No, it's okay. Poptart is fine. Though the fact you know I like toast and jelly is freaking me out a bit. Not in a bad way." he added not wanting to make her feel like he was mad or anything. "It's usually me who notices things. I'm glad you didn't say peanut butter and jelly." His hand did the kaput gesture and laughed to himself.
He nodded as he kept chewing and smiled biting down on his lip to keep from laughing. She had the cutest pair of bunny teeth and that made him want to scream. But didn't he kept his composure. "Right? I can only imagine what type of chaos I'll be walking into. Though maybe it won't be that bad. Case hasn't officially closed so maybe I can offer up help after all." Cheating cases made him feel queasy. Never were truly easy so he hoped for her sake that this one would be a breeze. "I hope that it won't get dragged out into court. I know sometimes it's not so black and white but they wouldn't have come to you if they didn't have confidence you could get this case done and over with without the dragged on notions."
There she went again taking him by surprise knowing something so deeply personal that he hadn't noticed she even knew it. "Mhmm. That would be deathly allergic. But I do carry my epipen so if I happened to ingest some I'd be okay. If I didn't have it then we'd be screwed. Don't worry you can put it in your coffee." Just for good measure he scooted over a bit to be a safe distance from it and smiled going back to his poptart. "Unfortunately I got my grandfather's allergy. Skipped my mom but trickled down to us. Mine is the most severe though. My sisters just get itchy."
"You don't eat?" His shock was audible the more he thought about it and shook his head. "I'll have to tell Dolly to come bark at you at breakfast and lunch and dinner so you can have your meals." He'd do that too no lie. Dolly was easily trainable since she was a former K9 in training.
He smiled that smile that told her he was happy she slept well. "I'm glad. Weird thing. I never can sleep in a new place. Can never get comfortable but last night was different. Your bed is heaven though just saying that." Then remember he had made the bed. "Oh that reminds me I made your bed. I didn't want to leave like that and I tucked the ends underneath the mattress." Wally was neat and organized most times and that did go down to the way he made his own bed.
"They do," he laughed thinking the change in topic was peculiar. "They can never sit still. It was a passion project when we all moved to the islands. My sisters loved horses and Di also grew up riding them so Andy went and bought the land and built the ranch ground up." Normally he was the one asking the left field questions. "They have a ranch actually. That is where we're gonna go. It's in Kaneohe. Which is about 2 hours and change from Lahaina to Kaneohe. So, we don't go often only if it's one of the kids birthdays or when we want to make it a weekend thing. Sometimes I go to keep an eye on things. Their ranch hands keep it running. They stay on property. Andy built them a giant house so they didn't need to go back and forth." One thing was certain, they were paid fairly and treated like family. "You'll get to meet them when we go after I come back from LA. Finally will get to meet Wildfire's filly. She's one."
Tumblr media
He pulled his hair behind his ear and shot her a grin. "Good luck." As she said that his phone dinged telling him he was to be headed to the air field. "Actually, perfect timing. I'm gonna head off. I got Jamie to agree to bring Dolly to you before dinner and bedtime so take care of my furry best friend. Enjoy your week and I'll see you for adventure week." His grin was bright as he hopped off the counter and landed on his feet.
