People say James must be exhausted from third-wheeling Wolfstar, and Sirius from third-wheeling Jily, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They’re having the time of their lives, constantly teasing and egging each other on. The real victims? Remus and Peter. Remus just wants a quiet study session with Lily, but James is always there, monopolizing her attention. Meanwhile, Peter just wants a normal hangout with his friends, but Sirius and Remus can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.

Ofc they would. Or atleast there's a high chance they would, unless James did something fucked up or Lily changed.
Lily hated his arrogance and the way he bullied people, especially her friend. Yet she was still attracted to him and wanted his attention, which is clear in the way she handles SWM. She talks TO James and looks AT James.
James does display insane amounts of toxic masculinity, but Lily doesn’t strike me the type to be disgusted by it. She seems content and acceptive of that. And since James puts her in a high social standing and gives her a lot of protection and safety, I doubt she would give that up, even if they argued or James treated her poorly.
They mostly got together due to the war and Lily's demise with Snape, but I do thing they are similar and genuinely see value in each other. And they also loved each other. The attraction and chemistry was worth it for Lily, even if she hated his violent side.
So no I don't think they would break up. Unless something drastic happened.
(not GOT related)do you think james and lily would have stayed together if they lived and also harry was a accident from what I read some people who were born out of unwanted pregnancies don't have the closest relationship with their parent or parents
Honestly, I don’t even know. My definition of a healthy long lasting relationship  and JKR’s are different. I hate Molly and Arthur’s relationship, Tonks and Remus are not good imo, Harry and Ginny seems to be some oddly written lust. I’m willing to bet that maybe Jily are twu luv but they’re not the healthy het couple their stans think they are. Lily hated James just as much as she was attracted to him. He asked her out in the worst places (which according to Pottermore he did frequently), he lied to her just to make himself look good, he essentially tricked her into dating him (pretended he wasn’t bullying Snape). Then he fucked up her relationship with Petunia and knowing that even anti Voldemort wizards look down on Muggle, I very very very much doubt it’s because he thought Petunia and Vernon were bigots (how would he know what oppression in the Muggle world looks like). Lily should have been the one to decide if she wanted her sister in her life and she didn’t get to, she actually ended up crying in public.
Lily gets pregnant at 19, gives birth and goes into hiding. She has no friends of her own (the ones that she did have once upon a time weren’t interested in reaching out to the Boy who Lived). Even the surviving Order members had nothing to say about her. Her whole life revolved around Harry and James, her only friends were James’ friends. Someone pointed out many years ago that her letter to Sirius sounds like it was written by a Stepford wife. So either Lily is hiding a lot of resentment or she has no personality left. To me everything about her last years are a red flag and I don’t think JKR intended it that way. Remus left a pregnant Tonks after a rushed wedding and he was called out for it. James used the invisibility cloak to leave the protection of their house, I doubt Lily got to leave. For months. That has to be psychologically damaging.
Anyway, I can’t call them a healthy relationship and imo they would break up but there’s no divorce in JKR’s world so who knows?

I love your work! I spent so long yesterday reading through just about all of them and you are an incredible writer! I have a request but regardless if you want to write it, I can’t wait to read what you write next!!
Request: I would love to have a fic with any of the marauders (+lily) (single or poly pairings) that are helping the reader on a bad chronic illness day. Due to their chronic illness, the reader’s body feels really weak so they need help from their partner(s).
Thanks so much angel! <3
cw: unspecified chronic illness, only explicit specificity is that reader has really low energy as a result of it
poly!Jily x fem!reader ♡ 743 words
Sometimes, James can’t help but stop and think about how ridiculously lucky he is. He was worried about you all day at work—you weren’t feeling well when he left that morning, though you’d claimed you were going to take it easy—but there’s no sweeter sight to come home to than you and Lily curled up together on the bed, your head on her chest and her fingers in your hair. James’ heart slows to a lovesick thump-thump as he watches you.
“Do you think you have the energy for a shower?” Lily murmurs.
You make a small sound to the negative.
“No? Okay.” Lily kisses your hairline, consoling. “How about a bath, love?”
Her eyes flicker up to James, telling him she’s heard his entry whereas you seem not to have. The sad uptilt of her lips tells him you’ve had as hard a day as he worried you might. He takes off his shoes, moving toward you.
“I could wash your hair for you,” Lily goes on, coaxing. “Add some of those oils you like.”
James is just barely close enough to hear your mumbled reply. “I don’t know if there’s time.”
“There’s always time for a nice bath, isn’t there?” he asks lightly. Grins when you look up, noticing him. “Hi, angel.”
“Hi.” You sit up for a kiss. James meets you halfway, folding an arm around your back to help support you.
He gives Lily a kiss, too, sparing an extra for the worried line between her brows.
“What are we worried about time for?” he asks.
“She wants to go to dinner with her friend’s mum.”
“I don’t want to,” you say, sinking back against Lily’s front the way Remus sinks into his chair after a long, long day, “I’m supposed to.”
James feels his lips tug. “Well, there you have it, lovie. You don’t want to, so don’t.”
“She’s visiting from out of town, and she asked to see me,” you mumble. You seem reluctant, like you’re fighting for a cause you don’t truly believe in yourself. “It’d be rude not to go.”
“It’s not rude. You don’t have the energy for a shower,” Lily reminds you gently. “It doesn’t make any sense for you to go.”
Your lips pull down, fretfulness lined with resignation.
“Do you know where she’s staying?” James asks.
“Yeah.”
“Why don’t we give her a ring at her hotel, then, and let her know you’re not feeling well. I’m sure she’ll understand.”
You look to be gnawing the inside of your lip, but James recognizes the slow wash of relief over your features. “Okay. That could work.”
“It’ll work great. And then, say, you could think on what might sound good to you for dinner here at home.” James begins tracing the planes of your face as he talks, down your cheekbone from the corner of your eye, up the bridge of your nose, and across your opposite eyebrow. “I’ll go to the store once you decide, and you two can have your bath while I whip dinner up for us. Okay?”
Lily holds you to her so she can lean forward without jostling you, kissing James ardently on his cheek.
“I think that’s a lovely plan,” she says while he grins.
You’re smiling, too, looking at them with much the same expression James imagines he wore when he came home to find the two of you together. “You don’t have to go to the store,” you say. “We have food here, don’t we?”
“Probably,” James agrees. “But you’ve had a long day, you deserve to have whatever you want for dinner. At the least.”
You open your mouth, but James speaks again.
“And if you say you want frozen lasagna or butter on toast or the leftovers from last night, I won’t believe you.”
Your smile goes sheepish, caught.
“Why don’t you think on that,” Lily suggests, “and James, could you bring me the phone book so I can look up the hotel?”
“Be right back,” he says, kissing both you and Lily again before he hops up. Lily takes his jaw in her hand, kissing him hard and with gratitude. It’s the sort of kiss that leaves James trying to blink himself back into focus as he leaves the room.
He must look it, too, because your laugh, arguably the loveliest sound on Earth, follows him out. “Thanks, Jamie,” you say.
Yeah, James is definitely the luckiest guy in the world.

Sirius has never actually called Lily her name, btw. He calls her Lilian and Lilibet and Lilith and Lillete and Lilah and Lizabeth and Liliana and Lydia and Liana and Lilette. Never just Lily.
She tries to do it to him in return, but there’s not much that Sirius can be short for. She compensates by calling him names and teasing him constantly.

feeling writing is when you start to write a jegulus story but use a lot of flowers and natural metaphors for regulus by james' perspective because he still has feelings/thinks he has feelings for Lily. But while writing the metaphors changes in astronomical ones and greek tragedies ones, because James started to feel for Regulus.

“One single thread of gold tied me to you”
Except it’s jegulus but James’ end has dulled but Regulus’ end is working so hard to keep the thread alive.
James has another thread, a golden tread that leads to Lily and he nurtures it and cares for it with everything he has whilst Regulus’ thread is hanging on for dear life until one day it snaps.
James never notices.
Regulus never falls in love again.

Devastated that Lily Evans wasn't able to survive and raise Harry bc she would definitely become one of the mums who says "aww, y'alright pet?" Whenever she sees one of his friends

starchaser microfic: chocolate || jegulily waiting for a child || @into-the-jeggyverse || wc: 580
“Is that all we need?‘’ James asks, keeping his hands on the full basket of groceries in front of him.
Regulus, next to him, carefully looks at the grocery list on his phone, checking off each item. Finally, he says, “There's only chocolate left.”
“Chocolate?” James asks in surprise.
Don't get him wrong, he'll never turn down chocolate. But when he turns his eyes back to the full basket, he has no trouble finding at least a dozen other types of sweets in the pile - terramisu, sweet cheese, berry cheesecake, tangerine cheesecake, eclairs, waffles, chocolate chip cookies, marzipan candies, chocolate covered dried plums (an absolute crime if you ask James), a jar of peanut butter, gummy bears. A few more colorful packages are buried deep under the fruits and fish.
“Did I miss something? Are we getting ready for another two-week lockdown?”
Regulus' gaze is directed at him from under his thick eyebrows. “It's for Lily,” he says, as if it were the most obvious thing that doesn't need to be explained.
“…Oh,” James realizes belatedly. “I didn't hear her ask to add all that to the list.”
“She didn't.” Regulus walks confidently toward the chocolate bar counter. James tries to keep up with his basket. “You know, she doesn't ask for anything at all anymore. It's like she's got the stubbornness of two people now - I wouldn't be surprised if the baby turns out to be the same.”
“The pot calling the kettle…” James says under his breath, hoping that Regulus won't hear him while he's looking at the different types of chocolate.
He settles on three - with nuts, with a layer of milk cream, and pure dark chocolate.
“How do you know what she wants?” James feels like a fool for asking this question. Of course he knows what his wife likes, but half of the products in the basket look strange and unfamiliar to him. Again, why the hell a dried plum in there?
“I don't know.” Regulus shrugs his shoulders. “But neither does Lily. One minute she's asking for chocolate milk in her cereal, and ten minutes later she's dying to eat cheese and ham toast. So it would be useful to have everything at once, don't you think?”
James just sighs heavily and agrees. Pregnancy isn't something that should tire him out - after all, he's not the one growing a whole new organism, a new person. However, since Lily quit her job due to the necessary rest in the second trimester, and Regulus also reduced his workload to stay at home with her almost always, James has taken over the financial support of the family. And they are not really in need, but as a future father he wants the best for his partners and child, so now he spends more time at work than he would like. And the saddest part is not the fatigue or burnout, but how much he misses. All his dreams of caring for his pregnant wife and having a magical home atmosphere are getting dusty because of the work he's been putting himself through.
“James?” comes from his side.
Regulus is already at the end of the aisle, on his way to the checkout, and James has completely lost track of reality. With his mind racing, his eyes are fixed on the package of caramel-filled chocolate.
Shaking his head to clear his head, he adds another bar of chocolate to the basket and follows his husband.

- 29 years later -
james always brought lily flowers. for the first six years of school, he would pick daisies and present small bouquets of them to her in hopes the gesture would finally win her over. he did this for her throughout the rest of their lives. lily would more often than not come home to james proudly thrusting a small bunch of flowers he had picked for her from the side of the road.
when they started dating in their seventh year, he would bring her birthday flowers, valentine’s day flowers, christmas flowers, boxing day flowers, flowers for any occasion. but also flowers on a random wednesday just because he wanted to see her smile.
when they moved into their first house together, james always kept lilies in a vase on the kitchen table.
on harry’s first ever valentine’s day, lily woke up to a large bouquet of her favorite wildflowers (peppered with daisies for old times’ sake), and a smaller bouquet of the same laying next to hers. this smaller bouquet was for harry, who giggled in delight. his parents watched adoringly as his baby fists excitedly crushed the petals.
baby harry grew up and married ginny. shortly after, they had baby james. on james's first ever valentine’s day, ginny woke up to a heart-melting sight: harry, looking ever so like his father, holding two bouquets of daisies: a large one for his beloved wife, and a smaller one for his son james, who promptly grabbed the flowers out of his father’s hand and, giggling, crushed the petals in his tiny baby fists.

I love jily as a ship name. It really tells you everything about their relationship. The J is for James and the ily is for Lily. You can't make it any better. J ily. She loves him, guys. She made sure she took up the majority of the name and only James' initial. He's her man. She's claimed ownership. That boy right there? That's hers.
