She sees the hurt in Lacy’s eyes when she makes a cruel remark about her makeup. 

It’s impossible to ignore Mitchell’s glare when she throws away his used shoes, “making more space for better clothes”. 

She feels the dislike for her growing in Thomas and Héloise. 

Good, better for them to hate her. It will hurt less when they inevitably leave her. 

She knows she’s hurting them but one day they’ll understand that she did for good reasons. 

It’s laughable, irony at its finest. 

A child of Aphrodite scared of love. 

It might be the most beautiful thing the Fates ever crafted. 

Camp already didn’t like her, it doesn’t take too much effort for it to despise her. 

A little flirting over there then a charming smile here, some charmspeak and two campers are fighting, her standing in the middle, modern Helen as Menelaus and Paris fight for her. Here it is not Aphrodite, oh no she’s sure her mother is enjoying the view, but Chiron that separates the enchanted boys and girls. 

At the beginning, they forgive her. Put her despicable attitude on Silena’s death and that she’s allowed to grieve, that nobody blames her. 

Drew laughs, a cruel cold sound (such unlike Silena’s warm, inviting one) promising even crueler words. 

She doesn’t remember all the insults she hurled at her dead sister, Clarisse’s punch has been quite effective on her nose and memory. 

Months passes and Drew’s eyeliner gets pinker and sharper. Her makeup is an armor, one she wears every seconds of every day. 

While the demigods of Camp Half-Blood forget Silena Beauregard, Drew dreams of her every night, laughing over bodies aflame, hugging her and murmuring kinds words, talking to that damned bracelet. 

It’s not a healthy lifestyle. But Silena is true daughter of Love, consuming her very essence and mental health even in death. No amount of makeup is waterproof enough to resist her endless tears at night. 

Eight months after the battle of Manhattan, Drew Tanaka can finally go to sleep without seeing her dead sister. In the grand scheme of the universe, it’s not such a big deal, not when Percy Jackson disappeared and that Annabeth Chase is going mad trying to find him. But to her, it’s liberating.

If it was Drew, she would have screamed at them until her throat was raw and buried them under guilt and shame. 

She would also have kept that stupid chariot very preciously, not landing it to Annabeth Chase who had been manic, mumbling things about the Grand Canyon and a guy with one shoe. 

When said chariot crashes into the lake, ruining it completely, it’s funny to see Will loses his normally calm behavior, Annabeth’s promise to fix it doing nothing to calm him down. 

“Where’s Jackson ?” she asks, not seeing the son of Poseidon. 

“He wasn’t at the Grand Canyon, Hera just wanted to keep playing with me.” Grits Annabeth, “but we found these three.” 

She gestures at the three demigods behind her, a tall blond guy with electrical blue eyes, a small latino boy and a girl with horrendous chopped hair. 

“Woah, really feeling the love here.” Mumbles the latino boy, his hands fiddling with some strings. 

“Yeah, what’s your problem ? You’ve been looking at us, especially Jason, like we are the ones who kidnapped your boyfriend.” Adds the girl, crossing her arms defensively. 

“Nobody wants you here hun, you and the rat nest you call hair can leave for all we care.” 

Seeing her face reddening is most amusing, Annabeth’s scolding having no real effect on her but for the sake of her authority in Camp, she obliges and keeps her mouth shut. 

The latino boy, Leo Valdez she learns, is claimed really quickly. She had to say he doesn't have the typical built of an Hephaestus kid, all scrawny and elfish features.

She wonders whose children are Jason and Piper McLean, Jason could very well be one of her siblings while Piper is certainly not. Maybe Hermes, or Iris with those kaleidoscope eyes.

With one look, she can assert what kind of girl Piper is. She's the girl thinking herself superior for not caring about her appearance, for not wearing makeup.

She's the type of girl who hates girls like Drew.

Well, Drew has no problem hating back.

There is obviously something between them, the way Piper reaches for Jason's hand and-

Drew tilts her head curiously, looking straight into his blue eyes, trying to decipher his emotions.

Confusion, anguish, fear, a sentiment of not belonging, all of those are very common for new arrivals.

What is not, however, is the void. She cannot feel anything else, no joy or sadness.

It's like he doesn't have them.

"I don't remember anything except my name, sorry."

Or maybe he forgot them.

Drew frowns, missing completely the dialogue between Jason and Annabeth about roman names or whatever, not important.

It would seem he has amnesia, a severe one for even forgetting emotions. She's not sure she can help with actual memories but she could try to charmspeak him at a subconscious level, trigger the emotions back.

Her gaze shifts ever so lightly, enough to meet Piper's eyes looking at her with unhidden dislike, her hand tightening around Jason's.

Drew rolls her eyes, typical of that kind of girl, to think that every women looking at their boyfriend are interested.

But fine, she'll play the game.

She makes the sweetest smile she can and grabs Jason by the arm, the poor boy getting really confused at her actions.

"Come on, I'll show you Camp while Will takes Leo and Annabeth guides Piper. I'm much better company."

Jason, the oblivious type it would seems, nods and follows her. She smiles at him, winking at Piper behind them who's looking absolutely furious.

She first takes him to the Big House, where Chiron wanted to meet him, then shows him all the different cabins. When he asks her about Percy Jackson, she tells him about his quests, the battle of Manhattan and his perfect love story with Annabeth.

She doesn't make any flirtatious remarks, treating him like she would with a brother. Really she just wanted to piss off Piper, she has not romantic interest in Jason whatsoever.

When she finishes the tour, she leaves him alone with the Hermes Cabin and goes join Will in the infirmary.

"So, how's Leo ? Seems like the hyperactive kind."

"Spot on, poor Nyssa already had Harley to babysit and now him."

"You don't seem to like him that much."

"It's not that, he just asked questions about sensitive subjects. He had no idea about the battle of Manhattan, it was on national news how could he miss that ? And then, Jake gave him Beckendorf's bed, did you know they had secret rooms, and he was really inventive about it. I know, he didn't know it but come on, asking to specify how he died just to know it is wasn't on his bed ?"

As he rants, he organises the infirmary's shelves again and again, even though everything is already in order.

"Sup bitches !"

Connor strolls in, going to sit just next to Drew dodging easily the band aids coming his way.

"How's Jason ?" she asks him.

"Poor dude really got his memory messed up. You're interested in him ?"

"No, just wanted to mess with McLean."

"I bet she's your sister."

"Don't be ridiculous, she looks like she crawled out of a dumpster."

"Remember that for tonight."

"I'm siding with Connor on this one," Will chimes in.

"You are both wrong."

"Anyways, did you know that Piper passed out in Hera's cabin ?"

"Why didn't you start with that ?" panics Will, "does she need any help ?"

"Nah, Annabeth didn't call any of your siblings playing basketball just next to them, I figure she's fine."

They stay together until campfire, Drew and Will shamelessly teasing Connor about Malcolm, the son of Hermes blushing and yet denying their claims.

"You do know that Travis complains to me about how your pining, right ?" reveals Will.

"He's so dead next Capture the Flag."

Campfire goes as usual until Jason summons a lightning bolt and a quest is issued.

"Son of Zeus and brother of Thalia Grace," whistles Connor seated next to her, "I did not see that coming."

Drew doesn't pay him much mind, focusing on the prophecy announcing that a child of Aphrodite must go on the quest.

She's the oldest in the cabin, the most experienced fighter and more importantly, the only one with charmspeak.

She has everything to lose going on that quest, risking death.

"The dove obviously means Aphrodite. I volunteer to help Jason on his quest."

She resists the urge of scoffing at the wide eyes looking at her.

Drew Tanaka, doing a selfless and heroic act ?

All of them forget she was in Manhattan, fighting for Olympus as much as them.

All of them forget the beads on her necklace, giving her seniority over many seated around the fire.

All of them forget that Drew has once been a loving sister, always cold but never one to back down from protecting those she loves.

It's alright, she doesn't mind.

Even children of Love need someone to love them back.

"I'm the one going !"

Of course, dumpster girl is going to make this complicated, she groans internally.

"Oh, and with what experience ?" she asks Piper sarcastically whose looking very embarrassed with the whole camp looking at her, "do you know how to kill specific monsters ? Do you know how to fight ? No answer ? You arrived this morning, McLean, you're not qualified for a quest."

And no matter how much you get on my nerves, you don't deserve to die.

"But- Rachel spoke to me in Hera's Cabin !"

By Aphrodite, stop trying to get killed !

"And what do the rest of you all think ? Who should go on this quest ? Piper, or me ? Don't you think I'm more capable, I actually have training that will help me survive in the mortal world. I'm the best choice."

Sweetness coats her voice, all the campers agreeing with her words, a pale pink halo glowing around her.

She smirks at Piper.

I win, honey.

"Stop listening to her ! Don't you see she's tricking you ? Don't listen to her words."

Her smile's drops instantly, eyes narrowing on Piper.

I can't be.

But she cannot feel her charmspeak on the campers anymore, the spell broken somehow.

It was then.

Piper just charmspeaked the whole camp and didn't even do it on purpose.

"I know I just got here the morning but I feel like I must go on this quest."

How infuriating.

"You're nor lightning nor forge sweetheart." she snarls at Piper, "And you are certainly not a daughter of Aphrodite."

At her mother's name, Piper glows pink as a holographic dove appears above her. When the glow diminishes, she is now dressed in a white peplos, golden jewels adorning her arms. Her hair is no longer the disaster it was when she arrived, now long and silky.

Chiron bows, the whole camp following his gesture, even Drew.

"All hail Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite !"

"Still convinced she's not your sister ?"

"Shut up Connor."

I have an opening ceremony at the end of this month, it is an internship course but the president and government authorities are attending. I’ve never participated in something like this so I have no idea of what to wear, makeup no makeup, heels or not. It’s during the morning n in a tremendous hot weather. Could you recommend me something? Or an keyword to better ideas on Pinterest. Thanks in advance

Modesty and being conservative during an event like this will be the best decision.

light make up that doesn’t change your features but enhances it. I’d say a small winged eyeliner, mascara, powder products (blush, foundation) to prevent sweat - waterproof make up will be your best friend in case it’s too hot. Pick a lip colour that’s not going to smudge easily and is a perfect nude-ish pink for you.

hair up would probably be ideal because of the heat. Don’t do anything messy - if it’s a bun, a French bun could look nice. Or, you could search “classic hairstyle” on Pinterest.

outfits - definitely nothing two fingers above the knee, a lovely dress / blouse and a skirt would be feminine and elegant at the same time, heels not more than 3 inches. Colour wise, I’d recommend neutrals - go for a slate grey/ navy blue/ off white/ beige.

events like this I prefer being more feminine because they are generally more male dominated and it helps me stand out even if my outfit is simple.

simple jewellery like a tennis bracelet and solitaires would be enough.

carry a purse - blotting sheets for your skin in case you get too greasy, lip gloss/ lipstick, perfume, a notepad and pen, a protein bar and wet wipes.

make sure you eat a proper, filling breakfast before the event. Ensure that you’re at the venue 15 minutes before required. Do your research on the people coming, attempt to speak to them as many as possible and get their business cards. If you can print out your business cards with a QR of your LinkedIn- do it. At the end of the day, if possible, send them a thank you email. Prep beforehand about yourself - prepare a short 15-20 second introduction, learn it by heart so that you can potentially avoid a socially awkward moment.

[AO3] Continuation of Day 1 - "Just admit it already," with bartender!Dream and chef!Hob.

“You’re insane,” Hob says, baffled by the bartender in front of him, especially considering how Dream has told him that I was pretty sure I was straight until many hours ago, and then ― invited himself over to Hob’s place while they were having a late dinner. “People usually have,” he gestures hopelessly, stuck by the drops of rain on Dream’s black hair and lashes, whatever eyeliner he uses, obviously waterproof as it stays there, “more time to ― get comfortable with that.” 

“I had hours,” Dream remarks blithely, “are we going to go in?” Dream raises an eyebrow and Hob shrugs, at the whim of an insane goth bartender, who is also ― hot, so sure, why not, as he opens his door. “And many of those hours were spent thinking of,” Dream is suddenly in his space, blue eyes dark, and he’s being kissed, wet and messy, Dream’s mouth tasting of rain and kebabs and Hob’s mind stutters at the feeling of Dream’s body against his, as he puts his hands on Dream’s waist. 

“Insane. Completely batshit,” Hob wheezes once there’s a tiny amount of space between their lips. “What do you want?” He asks, one hand going to Dream’s wet hair, and Dream hums, pressing closer. 

“You,” Dream settles on. “Are you not the one who would know more about this than me? You are the one who made me figure out I’m not exactly straight,” Dream drawls, and Hob blushes, “no pride over that?” 

“Maybe later,” he croaks, and Dream smirks as Hob pulls him to his bedroom, and really, with the way Dream keeps talking, the almost challenging way he’s being stared at. Making Dream incoherent would be blissful, as he unzips skinny jeans, and there’s a bit of flattery at seeing Dream already hard as he puts his hand on it, stroking it hastily ― and being rewarded with Dream’s bitten-off sounds and moans as he leans over Dream, nipping at a pale jawline, “please tell if I do anything you don’t like, you crazy asshole.” 

Dream barks out a laugh, loud and off-putting, like coffee grinders and animal sounds, “of course,” Dream says with a gasp, hands going into his hair.

my favorite is mac’s strobe highlighter in peachlite. it honestly gives my skin such a beautiful and subtle pink glow to my face!! i love applying it before my makeup.

⤷ don’t forget your collarbones and shoulders.

there is nothing else that makes me feel like a radiating goddess walking down the street when i put highlighter on my body.

⤷ also, layering powder products on top of wet/creamy products make them more pigmented! this is why you see some people wet their eyeshadow brushes before dipping them into the product ♡

Silly hc I've had for a while!

Barnaby's makeup works in mysterious ways!

ooh, i love all of these questions!!

favorite color: im a sucker for anything blue, but i also love silver!! especially when its metallic silver markers, theyre so shiny and fun to color with :D

favorite snack: this one is a little bit tougher,,, naturally im a sucker for anything sweet, but i think i'll go with white chocolate covered pretzels! a nice mix of salty and sweet! either those or the little cream filled chocolates you get in those valentines day boxes, you know the ones

i usually find myself drifting towards thoughts about my students when im not thinking about anything in particular. me and yuji spend a good bit of time together in the innerworld whenever im not entirely in main front, so i often find myself thinking of fun things we can do! sometimes i'll think about memories of my students in source, theyre always happy memories thankfully!

as for the last one, theres this one specific pseudomemory that i always find myself thinking about every so often. there was one time that me, suguru, shoko, and utahime had a secret sleepover in one of our dorm rooms (it wasnt that secret actually, but no one really cared much). utahime fell asleep first, so naturally i decided to doodle all over her with some waterproof eyeliner :D anyways

me and suguru have always been insomniacs back then, so we stayed up pretty late after utahime and shoko fell asleep. we talked about too many things for me to recount, but somehow we ended up talking about futures. i told him about all the plans that were already made out for me, since i knew thats what i was going to do later in life. keep getting stronger, become the head of the gojo clan. thats the only option i really saw at the time

but suguru said something that i really didnt expect. he asked if thats what i wanted, rather than just being something i was told i would do. i didnt really get what he meant at the time, but now i think i do. now that im here, i think being able to help and protect those closest to me is all i want in life. no jujutsu, no curses, no six eyes or limitless. just me, my family and close friends, and some good times :]

Second-to-last for the AU kids' fashion boards, we have Coral's~! Her style was pretty easy to come up with, but it was just finding the perfect references that was a little more difficult. I hope you enjoy!

. For Coral, she has very curly and frizzy dark blue hair that is between chin and shoulder-length, either worn as is or thrown up in a ponytail whenever she is working out. She doesn't normally wear makeup as she doesn't want to sweat it off or get is ruined, but mainly wears some waterproof eyeliner, mascara, and tinted chapstick. For a physical detail I wanted to highlight, it would be that she has several ear piercings, which include double lobes, her right cartilage/helix, and her left tragus.

. For her color scheme, it mainly consists of black, gray, and some tiny pops of white, but also a lot of darker blues, bright greens, and bright gold to match her eyes. Her style is a mixture between athletic/sporty, athleisure, streetwear, all with some punk-inspired elements. A lot of tank-tops, sports bras, athletic shorts, cropped or sleeveless hoodies, and sneakers, either in more athletic or street-styles. A lot of mesh elements, and wears mostly solid colors, with patterns done lightly as accents.

. For accessories, she doesn't own that many as she doesn't want them to get in the way when she is exercising or out and about, but she does have a couple of pieces worn for royal events. On a daily basis, she mainly just wears fingerless gloves, athletic wrapping, and a fitbit-style watch, with her earrings usually worn as small hoops or studs to not get in the way. The main accessory I chose to give her here is some longer fingerless gloves, as she wears them most often.

Summary:

In a wealthy suburb outside of Philadelphia, Adam Thorn, a wealthy trust fund twenty-something, is transformed into a literal beast for being spoiled, selfish, and, well, kind of an a$$hole. After years of isolation, Adam seeks companionship through Fairy Tale Romance, an online dating website, and meets an extremely handsome, extremely arrogant brewpub owner and self-proclaimed horror movie buff named Gaston.

Too afraid to accept his romantic feelings for Gaston, Adam convinces himself that he needs to find someone else, someone a little less arrogant and a little more empathetic, to break the spell. After all, what could be more important than becoming human again? And so, Adam messages a beautiful and kind bookworm named Belle. Unbeknownst to him, Gaston has also messaged Belle. What a mess.

Gaston is in love with Adam. Adam is in love with Gaston. Both of them are trying to move on from each other by courting Belle.

On Halloween night, Gaston was putting the finishing touches on his Tiffany costume in the bathroom mirror - dark reddish purple lipstick, almost black in color, and smokey eyes of pink and purple and grey - when Adam walked in wearing a striped green, red, and blue shirt, denim overalls, and a reddish orange wig. He snaked his arms around Gaston’s torso from behind, resting his chin on Gaston’s shoulder so that he could see both of their reflections in the mirror. 

“Hi, I’m Chucky. Wanna play?”

Gaston grinned. “Cute.”

“I can’t even find the right adjective to describe you.” Adam said, now smiling madly too. “I’m not sure how you manage to look sexy and ridiculous all at once.”

Gaston hummed as Adam nuzzled against the side of his face. 

“I want to kiss you right now, but this lipstick took me five fucking minutes to apply.”

“We’ll mess it up later, I’m sure.” Adam unentangled himself and then turned Gaston’s body so face him. “Where’s your mole?”

“I haven’t worked up the courage to do it yet.”

“Can I do it for you instead?”

Gaston plucked the black waterproof eyeliner pencil off of the sink.

“Go ahead.”

Adam focused on creating a dark mole above Gaston’s lip, his brows furrowed together with concentration, which would have been adorable enough, but then Adam stuck out his tongue and Gaston couldn’t contain himself anymore - he grabbed Adam’s wrist to pull it away from his face and proceeded to plant a sloppy kiss on his boyfriend's lips. Adam pushed him away.

“Ugh, you dick,” he complained before trying to rub the lipstick off of his lips while Gaston sputtered a wicked laugh. “What are you laughing about? You messed up your look too.”

Gaston picked up the tube of lipstick so that he could fix his face.

“Worth it,” he said as he moved to reapply the dark red color.

When he was finished, he and Adam took a moment to admire themselves in the mirror, both of them smiling like they really were two murderous psychopathic dolls, and then Gaston threw an arm around Adam’s shoulders.

So this post was inspired by Astarion but it's not about him.

When I booted up BG3 for the first time, I encountered this stupid vampire elf and the second the camera closed in on his face, I started cracking up and laughing maniacally. Because he is an albino (vampire) and he is very obviously wearing mascara and eyeliner.

And that reminded me of a fun childhood memory. (It's a non-story. Lowest stakes in the world.)

One of my childhood friends in the 90s was a girl who had albinism. (She would get mad if you called her that and said she was leucistic because she had blue eyes, not red, but as an adult she found out she does have albinism. It was the 90s. You just heard a wrong fact from an adult at some point and believed that for 20 years.) White hair, pale skin, blue eyes, light sensitive. Keep in mind: She is also the only person in her family with albinism.

Let's call her Ashley. Not her real name.

Ashley's family was very religious. Very Christian. Not unusual in our rural area. (Don't worry. This is not a traumatic story.)

One of her family's rules were that girls could not wear make up until they were 16.

Of course, that just made her want to try wearing make up more than anything at 12 years old.

One summer day, I go over at her house for a sleepover. I've smuggled (aka put in my llbean backpack with my clothes) make up that I bought from Claire's with my birthday money. Ashley snuck into her mom's bathroom and pilfered make up that she wanted to try.

We spend the afternoon in the hot air condition-less bedroom trying to figure out how to put on make up. A handful of issues of Seventeen were our guide. It was 1998 so there was a lot of glitter and blue eye shadow involved. All of it badly applied but we were having a lot of fun trying to help each other.

Ashley decided she wanted to put on black mascara and eyeliner. She quickly realizes that a person with white eyelashes looks like they very obviously are wearing make up if they use black. It looked ridiculous and she was annoyed about it because she'd never seen mascara in any color except black or brown. She tries putting it on me and it looks a little better because I am pale and freckly but have dark hair and eyelashes.

Then Ashley's mom calls us down to set the table for dinner.

Ashley grumbles because we have to wash off all our hard work before her mom sees.

Except... the eyeliner and mascara don't wash off.

It's waterproof.

We panic and scrub at our faces but we don't know how to get it off. Ashley's mom is yelling at us to come downstairs, why are we dawdling, she's busy cooking, the least we could do is set the table, etc.

Ashley is panicked. She knows she has to go downstairs and she knows how obvious she's been putting on The Forbidden Make Up. Oh god oh god oh god. I debate trying to jump out of a second story window and sprint for home. I'm 10 miles from home across a major highway but I bet I could manage.

Eventually we go downstairs. Faces turned down, trying not to meet Ashley's mom's eyes. We start setting the table and hope that no one will notice. We'll eat quick and leave the table ASAP.

Of course Ashley's mom catches sight of her daughter's suddenly black eyelashes and freezes.

"Soooooo, what were you girls up to up there?" she asks, clearly trying to keep from smiling.

"Nothing," I say automatically.

"Reading the Bible," says Ashley.

"Really? Nothing you want to tell me about?" her mom says, now totally failing to suppress a smile. Her shoulders are shaking with a silent giggle.

"Nothing!" we say in unison.

Then Ashley's mom bursts into laughter.

The thing is Ashley's mom has the loudest and most distinct laugh. You can hear it a mile away. You can instantly pinpoint where she is in any store or a major crowd if she laughs. She sounds like an asthmatic donkey laughing in reverse and it is the loudest sound a human being can make. It is one of the funniest sounds I've heard in my life. 30 years later and if I think about how her laugh sounded, I start laughing.

Ashley's mom is laughing and that makes me want to laugh. So I'm standing there, face down, trying so hard not to laugh. I know that if I laugh Ashley will never forgive me. I'm literally shaking from trying to surpass the urge to laugh. I can't breathe. I am going to die if I don't laugh.

Ashley looks like she wants to melt into the floor. We were both goody-two-shoe kids who hated the idea of ever getting in trouble or disappointing adults so this was worst case scenario for her.

Ashley's mom finally finishes her hilarious sounding laughing fit and pats us on the head. She gently chides us for lying but says she'll finish cooking and take us upstairs to help us get the make up off. No one is in any real trouble. She even promises that we're not in trouble and she'll teach us how to put on make up on her next day off, despite the "no make up before 16" rule.

Of course, 30 seconds after Ashley's mom calms us down, Ashley's dad walks in, takes one look at his daughter's smeared face, and says, "What in the world happened?!"

Anyway, thanks Astarion for reminding me of a very specific childhood memory. This immediately endeared me to your dumb ass.
