Ok fuck it

Buck has a couple of failed dates, gets to say he's bisexual, is clearly not over tommy. He's also lonely without eddie (who'll be back in a few weeks when this storyline is over lol)

Maddie has disappeared. People speculate she ran away again, but it doesn't ring true to chimney. Buck doesn't know what to think

Meanwhile, Buck starts rebound fling with Some Lady

Some Lady is actually a serial killer who kidnapped maddie

Buck starts to suspect. He's talking to her, she's in the room with him, in her house maybe. So, he calls tommy and leaves a fake nonchalant voicemail. He says weird things like "it was great to see you last week" even though they haven't talked since the breakup. He tries to drop hints to what's going on.

Some Lady poisons buck, whoops. He falls unconscious

His phone buzzes, Tommy's texted him all "????", and Some Lady types a generic reply to cover her tracks.

Then we cut to tommy just staring at his phone, frowning. This is the first time we see him since the breakup. We're all pleased to see him but also worried for buck and maddie, very tense fantastic television etc.

Cut to credits.

Next episode:

Tommy shows up at the 118, asking if anyone's seen buck. They're all like "no, who knows? Maybe he's wherever maddie is?" (Dramatic irony 101)

Tommy is initially a bit uncertain, he turns to leave, but then is like "no guys something is up. He left this weird voicemail, and hes been texting me but its not him. Its not evan."

Bobby and hen are skeptical maybe? Or something but either way we get chimney and tommy talking one to one and they both listen to the voicemail and work out whats going on

They find the house, find the buckleys.

Idk something exciting happens

They save the day, athena shows up to arrest Some Lady

Really tearful emotional madney reunion. We all cry too.

Final scene is a moment between buck and tommy. Tommy's so obviously in love with him, and buck is still a little out of it but is so happy to see him.

But then, theres no kiss no reconciliation. Once hes sure buck is ok, tommy just leaves

I'm thinking about it real hard and tbh Neil would take Kevin's phone and block his account from Kevin's Twitter and then be the most ridiculous Kevin Fan Account. He would reply to fan theories, check them, debunk/confirm them. He would share Kevin's stats and talk so often about how much he looks up to him and his skills. the whole team just thinks Kevin knows and doesn't care.

and then one day an interviewer brings the account up and Neil can't get out fast enough, tries to deactivate it. but it ends up being something Kevin likes. The attention he enjoyed as a Raven but not the objectification. Neil telling people to fuck off and then agreeing with another that Kevin has improved. Showing details and stats and it's touching to him, even if it would be weird to anyone else. Kevin who still really craves that adoration and attention bordering on stalker/codepency and Neil who can deliver it perfectly.

Kevin bestows him with the #1 Fan title and Neil is even more insufferable after that.

(Presumably) Gen Zers have a fundamental misunderstanding of lgb history because larpers have appropriated the word for their own cause, and this is just normalised????

The secondary, terrifying aspect of this, is that anyone perceived as not ~normal~ is now being lumped in with lgb people, something activist groups have spent decades fighting against. That's why kinksters, furries, polyamorous people, and heterosexual men incapable of romantic love are now considered q*eer regardless of whether or not they experience same sex attraction.

Look, Bruce had had no plans to be a cryptid, he swore. 

Vigilante? Yes. Dark abomination of the night? No. And he was, he was technically just a dude. A well trained (and maybe feral) human, but still just a human! Apparently not to the rest of Gotham, and he honestly should have nipped those rumors when they first started. 

But like, it was also perfect for his secret identity. No one exactly expected an undead shadow-beast to have a secret identity after all. Or an undead shadow beast and some sort of ghost child to have ones, as the small child- which turned to small children- he’d taken in discovered. 

Which, look, he had tried to get Dick (and later Barbara, and Jason, and Tim, and Steph, and by the time of Duke and Cass had given up) to stop. He had tried everything he could but no, nothing could stop them. Literally nothing that he had done could stop any of them, so he had trained them instead. 

And the children were all little shits. At least by the fact that Nightwing had lead the newly-made Justice League right where he was perching, continuing to chitter and giggle near hysterically as he ducked behind him. 

And somehow they were here to try and recruit him. Great.

I was wanting to try doing an art piece in the style of the signature spell poster art pieces you create. But I’m not really the best at coming up with a composition for such a thing.

Do you have a process for how you come up with the compositions for them?

oh, awesome! it is an INCREDIBLY enjoyable style to work in; I hope you have fun with it! :D

I'm not great at putting my thought/art process into words, so my apologies if this doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'll try! my first step is always to do a LOT of thumbnails to figure out both the idea and how I want to show it; not trying to do a real sketch or anything, just little doodles to figure out what exactly I'm trying to portray. (I also call these "garbage passes" because they're not meant to be any good, they're just there to throw things out. aha. ha. ...anyway.) I think it's important during that first stage to really focus on the idea and the layout and not to get too bogged down in the actual drawing yet!

I tend to save my final thumbnails, so I'll use 'em as examples (I posted the ones up through episode 5 here if you're interested!) (and, uhhh, spoilers through episode 5 also in this post, hopefully that won't be an issue!)

the main thing I try to think about in composition is balance -- not necessarily in terms of symmetry, but in where each element is placed and how much space it's taking up. remember, empty space is still space! it's also really important to think about the parts that don't have anything in them, as much as the parts that do!

personally, I like to divide things up roughly by both halves and by thirds -- there's a lot more in-depth info out there on why the "rule of thirds" in particular works well visually, but in short, our brains tend to focus on things that are placed closer to imaginary division lines, instead of in the exact center of an image. so even when I'm doing something that is very centered and symmetrical, I try to keep that in mind and generally aim around those for landmarks like faces/eyes (or...where they would be, anyway) and other focal points.

it's not a formula of "the character's face should be in this division of this grid" or anything, more like "our minds like to focus on these areas, let's think about how to use that", if that makes sense! and of course rules are made to be broken, art is lawless anarchy, and so on. but it can be a good starting place for deciding where you want to put things!

honestly, composition is one of those things I feel like I struggle with a lot, so I'm not sure how much of this is helpful or actually makes sense outside of my head. but hopefully it helps a little! it's all just stuff to think about while drawing and not anything hard-and-fast, so don't, like, stress out about making sure things are lining up exactly on the thirds or anything. again, it's more "our brains think these are the dopest parts of the rectangle" than anything else! take advantage of the cool parts of the rectangle!

Extremely slightly obsessed with the implications of TIES not being in 3rd Life-

Like literally ALL of them were in Dogwarts at one point or another, and I feel like the fact that there were so many of them was kinda what elevated Dogwarts to be as powerful as it was. So either people who weren't part of Dogwarts initially were a part of it in dbhc or they weren't NEARLY as much of a threat to the other factions as they were in canon.

The Crastle Alliance as well involved Impulse and Tango, so they're also cut in half in dbhc (which kinda makes me ponder a world in which Dogwarts and the Crastle fused into a single faction 👀)

Jimmy wouldn't have lost his life in Dare to Flare but honestly he'd've prolly lost it anyways to something else so that's not too much of a difference XD

There's probably also more butterfly effect stuff that I've missed by not watching TIES' povs but I am very interested in seeing what you have in mind (if you ever choose to expand on it in the future). I'm very curious how the clock plays into it...

(Also as an added ponderance, I can't help but wonder if Etho Hopper Clocks have another name in this universe since Etho wasn't alive to make them (or, for the funny route, if Etho was named after the clock instead of the other way around XD)
